i loooove your band au it's so cute!! do they have a band name? why did the O5 have a falling out and what did jean, bobby, and warren play? i'm imagining they get their first gig at harry's hideaway because he graciously allows them to set up in the corner and play as long as they don't bother anyone lol. rogue and gambit both go (rogue drives them and helps them set up, gambit goes to cheer on storm) and that's how they meet
Iâm glad people enjoy my silly band idea. I unfortunately have no idea what they would call themselves, but Iâm sure some ridiculous ideas were proposed from each member. Iâd love to hear ideas.
Ah, the O5⌠I think they split up because of a combination of reasons. 1.) Worthington Senior urging Warren to return home as Worthington Industriesâ heir. 2.) Jean going to a prep school so she can graduate early be the professorâs intern in mutant politics. 3.) Hankâs plans to intern at Stark Industries, which he ultimately doesnât go through with after he transforms. Of course, there would be petty drama on the side that would further strain things, but those three would probably be the main reasons.
I think Hank looking into Stark Industries would be a big contributor because Bobby would feel betrayed. They promised to stay together, and after Bobby learned about Warren and Jeanâs situations, he at least thought that he would have Hank. So, to catch Hank researching about a full time internship would really hurt.
I also think that Warren would initially do everything in his power not to return home until he learns about Jeanâs plans. He thinks sheâs only doing this because itâs what the professor wants, but then he learns Jean is actually really looking forward to this. I also think heâs bitter about Scottâs encouragement of Jeanâs plans, because itâs splitting their group apart. And then when Bobby and Hank finally have their confrontation, he feels like trying to ignore his fate is childish and he should just give in to his fatherâs plans.
They all used to live at the institute together, but then Warren returned home and Jean is abroad at her prep school. Itâs very tense between Scott, Hank, and Bobby, but Scott and Hank eventually making up again probably makes Bobby get over his hurt. He didnât really take the band as seriously as the others; he just wanted to hang out with his friends. Bobby would later show up to the bandâs gigs as support, and who knows⌠maybe Warren and Jean would, as well.
Scott played the drums, Jean was the pianist, Hank was guitar, Warren was vocals (and maybe another guitar player), and Bobby was bass.
Back to the current band set up, Gambit 100% comes to their performances, which eventually leads him to meet Rogue;
Gambit is already the bandâs uncle, so it makes sense that he hits it off with the bandâs new aunt. Mr. Logan found Gambit suspicious at first (and to be fair, Mr. Logan is at least 80% sure he saw Gambit pickpocket someone from across the room), but when he sees how much Gambit cares for Storm, he begrudgingly lets go of his suspicions. He still keeps a watchful eye over Gambit and Rogueâs interactions, though. Rogueâs still his child.
Bahhh, so many fun ideas with this. I think it would be really cute if other X-Men are thrown into the mix. They may not be a part of the band, but they still contribute to the chaos of the private school (I think it would be funny if Piotr was an art club member who does art for the band, and Sean was one of their sound crew guys. Any ideas for other X-Men?).

SEASON 2 WISH LIST:
-Madelyne is resurrected as a Horseman along with Gambit: I think there's a better story to tell with Madelyne being brought back (at least temporarily) than staying dead. The X-men having to fight her too would give Cyclops and Cable a more personal stake in this Apocalypse storyline, not that they really needed one, but still...
I said in another post that I wouldn't want to dilute the "Saving Gambit" story by making a bunch of other X-men Horsemen as well, but if it's just Madelyne, then I think it's okay. And I wouldn't expect Madelyne to survive this story anyway, since, aside from tying up a couple loose threads with the Summers family, her arc is basically finished now.
Plus, I just kind of like the idea of giving Deathbit a buddy in the spurned lover department; that could be fun.
-----
-Sabretooth returns. Logan (sans adamantium) has to fight him... and loses: I've always liked the idea that Sabretooth would probably beat Wolverine in a fair fight, (dude is like 3x Logan's size after all) but it's never been a fair fight since the adamantium basically made Logan unstoppable. But take the adamantium away and suddenly Wolverine is the underdog for a change, which makes the match-up a lot more interesting. And what's even the point of doing the bone claws story if it's not to see how Logan deals with being in a weakened state like this?
Granted, I want to see this for selfish reasons since Sabretooth is one of my favorite villains, but come on! Victor is long overdue for a W against Wolverine, and if he can't get it now, then I'm calling BS lol.
-----
-Mystique returns, working for Apocalypse: I think Demayo shot down the Val-Cooper-is-Mystique-in-disguise theory, (correct me if I'm wrong about that) but it would be pretty ridiculous if we didn't see her in season 2 since she worked with Apocalypse in XTAS on multiple occasions.
Plus, there's a ready-made story there with her and Rogue. In the 90s cartoon, Mystique wanted to get Rogue back as her daughter so badly that she was even willing to turn Rogue into a Horseman to do it. So just imagine if Mystique had a hand in convincing Apocalypse to resurrect Remy as Deathbit, or at least helped him pull it off, because she saw this as a way to get back into Rogue's good graces. That would add some really interesting pathos to a story that's already super emotionally charged.
-----
-Costume changes: I get that Marvel has toys to sell, but the different suits the team got in season 1 ain't it. Sorry, they're just not. The only one who pulled it off was Storm. Everyone else got a serious glow down. I actually felt low key embarrassed for Scott and Jean trying to make those retro costumes from the 60s/80s eras work; there's a reason those designs stayed in the past, you guys.
And I even like Rogue's green & white suit in the comics, but in the show it just looked awkward with the gloves being a different shade of green than the rest of it. I'd take just about any of her other costumes over this one.
Either change the suits again or go back to the old versions because I'm not feeling these current ones at all.
-----
-Magneto has a reunion with his kids... and it doesn't go the way he wants: We saw in the season 1 finale that Mags' separation from his children is something that's at least been bothering him, (though not enough for him to lift a finger to save them from being killed along with everyone else on Earth if he succeeded in destroying the planet's electromagnetic field, but I guess we're blaming that on bad writing) so I want him to meet his kids in season 2... only for it to go as horribly as it possibly could.
It would be both ironic and hilarious if Magneto is hoping to patch things up with his kids, only for Pietro and Lorna to try to fight and arrest him the instant they see him (X-Factor doesn't seem to be a thing anymore, but let's say they're still government employees and have the authority to arrest criminals/terrorists) because he did after all murder millions of innocent people with that EMP AND try to murder every other living thing on the planet, including them.
I mean, let's not kid ourselves, there's no way this family reunion is going to be a happy one after what he did. SOMEBODY has to hold Magneto accountable for that, and his own children doing it is about the most fitting thing that I can think of.
-----
-A big story arc for Gambit: Romy fans got gipped in season 1, and even if you're just a Gambit fan, you still had to settle for scraps with him only playing a major role in one episode, which coincidentally was the one where he got killed off. Yes, the stage is set for Deathbit to have a really compelling story in season 2, but that's going to depend on how it's done and frankly, after I got burned so many times in the first season, I'm skeptical that the writers will give this the care and attention it deserves.
Demayo said it was "key" that Remy died thinking he didn't deserve to be a hero and that Rogue had chosen Magneto instead of him. These things have gone unaddressed in the show since then, so I'm going to assume they're being saved for the Deathbit story and THE PAYOFF FOR THIS BETTER BE DAMN GOOD.
I want to see all of Remy's low self-esteem, self-loathing and resentment over the Rogneto debacle get twisted into a dark rage that Deathbit throws back in everyone's faces. AJ himself said that Remy didn't feel valued by the X-men or Rogue when he died, so use that! Make it part of the story! Make them own up to it. Force Rogue to confront her own feelings about how she handled that situation, (so far, she's been avoiding doing this) so it can factor into how they bring him back.
I know a lot of us assume that freeing Remy from Apocalypse's influence is going to come down to Rogue finally telling him that she loves him. And, yeah, that should be a big part of it, but it shouldn't be the only part. That's fine as far as Rogue is concerned, but Remy needs an arc too, and I just want it to be worth the wait after they put us through all this.
-----
-Deathbit vs Magneto: This needs to happen. Aside from the fact that Romy fans will have been clamoring for it for a long time, frankly, both characters are going to want it too. Mags will no doubt view Deathbit as the reason why he can't get Rogue back, and Deathbit... well, we all know what his reasons are; he'll likely want to take Magneto apart just for the pure satisfaction of it.
Now since Magneto's so OP, Gambit wouldn't stand much of a chance in a straight fight under normal conditions, but we know Apocalypse evolves/enhances mutants' powers when they become Horsemen, so imagine if he unlocked Gambit's Omega potential, so Remy has his New Son powers now, or at least a heightened version of what he had before. So Magneto goes in brimming with confidence that he's going to wipe the floor with his rival for Rogue's affections, but then in a shocking twist, Deathbit breaks out his newly enhanced power set and turns the tables on him.
Do I really want to see Mags get taken down a peg and humbled by Gambit? Sure. But narratively, this makes a ton of sense to do. Since Demayo loves Magneto so much, I highly doubt it will happen, (certainly not with this outcome at least) but I think it would be super satisfying for fans.

Imagine Singing an inappropriate German song in front of Nightcrawler.
Readers Mutant powers- Mechanical transfiguration. You can turn your body or manipulate machines into different kinds of machines/ weapon.
Night Crawler wants to get to know the reader but the reader suffers from social anxiety and is neurodivergent.
You were still pretty new to the mansion and though you tried your best to feel part of the team sometimes it was hard being the new recruit. It was especially hard to connect with some of the others as more often then not it felt like you stayed coped up with Hank geeking out over machines. This led to keeping to yourself outside of missions unless you were with Hank or being forced to discuss mechanical maintenance with Professor Xavier and Scott. Outside of those three it was your goal everyday to stay out of everyone else's way which didn't deter a certain group of them from trying desperately to befriend you.
This is what led to your now bizarre schedule which truly shouldn't overlap with everyone else's. Prep your meals early in the morning and take them to your mini fridge before anyone catches you then proceed with morning walk then training. This way there was no need for awkward conversations or worse forced social interaction between the extroverts. Rogue, Jubilee, Morph and the worse offender Nightcrawler. You were like a frightened dumpster cat they were trying desperately to befriend but there outgoing personality mixed with your introverted neurodivergent led to situations you dreaded as you never knew what to connect about.
It got so bad you jumped out a window before the group rounded a corner as they were trying to find you to go out somewhere. Hank of course scolded you for hiding out with him when they were having a man hunt again as he tried coaxing you out of the danger room computer system. " I know you're a little shy but I assure you (Y/n) they will adore you just like I do. I quite cherish our shared passions and friendship but making friends with your other teammates will be beneficial for you. " Hank sits at the computer chair staring at the hardware in front of him. "Nope. Nada. Not happening. " Your body slowly forms out of the mechanical hardware staring at your blue friend as he frowns.
" Hank. You understand that Kurt's teleporting alone randomly keeps my anxiety on edge. What happens if he knows where I'm at teleports in front of me and before I can even process it I've punched him across the room with a full force power punch. How will I ever look anyone in the face again. They will all think I did it on purpose and that I'm a newbie with a attitude problem, or even worse I'm not x-men material like Xavier thinks I am. " Hank sighs as like a mole you disappear back into the machine at the sound of the door opening. Jean walks in waving to Hank as she can already tell what's going on. Kurt had asked her a favor to use her telepathic powers to locate you which she had done but knew it would be better to give your location only if you wanted to be found.
"You know (Y/n) your a pretty hard person to find. Is there a reason your so difficult to locate outside of missions. " Silence hangs in the air. You don't dare make a sound but you know she knows you're here. It's not like you could hide your consciousness in the machine. Jean gently sighs sitting in the chair next to Hank. " It's okay I'm not mad. I just want to know why no one can find you. Truthfully your little fan club asked if I could locate you but I didn't want to give away your location if you didn't feel comfortable with it. I already know you asked Scott not to tell anyone else your schedule. I just want to make sure you're adjusting well and if there's anything I can do."
You don't dare to come out the machine but the gentleness of her voice helps lure a response out of your frightened form. " I just don't feel comfortable with the extroverts high energy. It feels like everyone's eyes are on me as the new person and I don't want to embarrass myself outside of missions. One on one I can handle the attention but all three at once it's just too much and I just shut down and panic. " Hank taps his pen against his check board. " (Y/n) has trouble understanding social cues at times and thanks to past rejections now has severe social anxiety thanks to it. She is worried that she won't say the right thing when she interacts with the others outside of missions."
Hank pats the control desk your body is currently absorbed to almost like he's patting a child's head. " This is why she's gone out of her way to avoid them. Which as you can tell Jean has led to where we are now with her using her mutant powers to avoid them. " Jean looks empathetic as you slowly reform your body out of the machine. Crawling out onto the floor slowly standing up as you embarrassingly stand there. " Do you not wish to interact with them at all? They really just want to be your friend and get to know you better. All of us do. Though I do understand everything has been a lot, but you have been doing wonderful on missions and the repairs around the mansion. Even the students adore you. Just have more faith in yourself okay (Y/n) I'm sure they are just excited to get to know the real you. "
Hands fiddle with the end of your sweater. Rubbing the fabric between your fingers was helping just slightly with your nerves as you stand in front of Jean. " I really do want to make friends with them as well. It's just hard to. I don't think I'm ready to face them today but I definitely will try better in the future to make steps to get closer to the rest of the team. If you could do me a favor though could you tell them I'm sorry if I've appeared rude and that I'm sorry if it seemed like I didn't like them." As Jean stands up satisfied with the conversation you quickly grab onto her arm in a panic. " Please don't tell Kurt we're I am though. Tell him I went to bed early. His teleportation makes me anxious as I'm worried he's gonna scare me and I'm gonna accidentally knock him out in panic. I feel like I've already royally screwed up our relationship with my running away. The last thing I need to do is accidentally send him through a wall. He will really think I hate him. "
Jean laughs patting your hand in comfort. " Well I'll make sure to tell him that next time he wants to talk with you that he should try walking in instead of teleporting and scaring you. Trust me I understand the shock that it can have on someone. It took a lot of us months to get used to the scare. " Jean had fulfilled her promise to you informing them all about your social anxiety and to give you space and patience. Exspecially making sure to drive the point home to Kurt that his teleporting scared you not because of his looks but because it suddenly scared you. To bad though that Jean was too late to prevent the groups scheming. See Kurt was so infatuated with getting to know you because he had a small crush on you ever since you shared candy with him on your first mission together.
He had successfully convinced the other extroverts to help with his plan of getting to know you better. This was no small task though as somehow you had managed to be the hardest person to find ever outside of missions. Even trying to learn your schedule was impossible as Scott wouldn't tell any of them at all. When Jean had comeback to tell Kurt you had already gone to bed but that you did want to get to know him he was over the moon. Taking the instructions of trying not to scare you with his teleportation to heart he was fueled with excitement to carry out his plan. See they couldn't figure out your schedule from Scott but that didn't mean you were safe from some good old stalking.
Your dorm room was right across from Rogues and with some late night staking out she was able to get a rough outline and idea around the time you'd get up. The group was able to figure out that you got up at Four every morning and would be in the kitchen prepping your meals for the day before coming back to leave them in your room. It was the only part of your schedule they had figured out but now with the encouragement that you actually wanted to know them in place they could carry out with their match making scheme. All Kurt had to do was catch you while you were cooking. Maybe make it look like he woke up early on accident and you were just so happening to be in the kitchen.
It was the perfect scheme because there was no way you'd abandon your meal prep to hide or run away so this was Kurt's chance to make some progress. Jubilee was so excited to carry out this plan as it was like playing a real life dating simulator. She excitedly prepped Kurt for the first attempt chattering on about how you were like a romantic interest and all he had to do was slowly fill your heart meter to gain more playable interactions. Morph pitched into the plan by transforming into you to help Kurt practice his first interactions. Though he didn't really appreciate the teasing he got from Morph while they wore your face. " I don't think pickup lines would go over well for a first interaction. "
Jubilee chastised Morph as they teased the furry blue elf. " Hey who doesn't like flirting. It may be a great hit with (Y/n)" Rogue shook her head not really agreeing with it either. " Now she already is like a scared cat in a rainstorm. You heard Jean we gotta be aware of her anxieties. Any mess ups may set our progress backwards. " Kurt gulped at the thought of messing this up. You were so sweet and caring on missions always worried about everyone and how things would affect civilians. The first mission he ever went on with you after the fight was over you stayed for hours making sure people were taken care things were cleaned. You had done it all with a never ending kind smile and when leaned against a wall exhausted you had offered Kurt a soft salted caramel from your pocket.
He swore that those caramels tasted like heaven. Now he was determined to win your friendship then hopefully if he was blessed enough your heart. He set off for bed putting his alarm to wake him around the time you were expected in the kitchen. He rehearsed his conversation multiple times as he lay restlessly in his bed before eventually drifting off into dreams about soft caramels.
Now was cooking all your meals at once in the dead of the morning when no one else would possibly be awake a little annoying. Maybe. Was it worth it for uninterrupted personal time before you went to go galavanting in the woods. Definitely. I mean before the X-Men you were used to this schedule as making ends meat in an adopted family of mutants was hard. So waking up to avoid the extroverts and meal prep was just easier for you in the long run anyway. Not like it was much different then back in the junkyard. Though a habit you never could break from your time in the junkyard was working in the dark. There really wasn't a need to turn on lights when your automatic eyes would just adjust to night vision anyway.
So here you were in the pitch dark of the kitchen only the slightest flame from the gas stovetop lighting the room. Which truthfully made no difference in the inky black abyss as pots clattered and things bubbled on the stove. You had on your list of foods today to make was your homemade salted caramel squares. Headphones in coffee at your side you bounced around the kitchen dancing and singing along to the songs. Of course you had a built in system to tell you how loud you were being to make sure you didn't wake anyone but that didn't stop you from aggressively dancing along to what ever came on in your play list.
I mean it was like a mini concert with just you and the stove. If anyone did wake up the turning on of the lights would alert you to cease your unrestrained shenanigans. Your previous song stops and suddenly the night-cored version of the song Doktorspiele starts blaring through. Jumping up and down you sing along to the perverse lyrics in German. You were aware of how raunchy the lyrics were actually but it's not like a lot of people knew the lyrics at first hearing. The only people you had to worry about hearing was Kurt or Anna Marie. There was no way they would catch you so swaying your hips bouncing your weight from left and right you sang your heart out to the song.
At one point you were so into the song you were singing into the spoon that was stirring the caramel while running your hands from your thighs up into your hair being playfully sensual like the song. Blissfully unaware of the Blue German speaking mutant sitting in shock and amusement on the counter furthest away from you. He could never imagine that the girl he had a crush on would be standing before him singing in his native tongue about a raunchy game of playing doctor. I mean he didn't want to stop you the words rolling from your mouth were incredibly enticing to him. If your relationship was a little closer he may have even had the confidence to act up on the lyrics suggestions.
Not wishing to ruin this he sat watching you be so open and free. He wanted desperately for you to be like this all the time. He almost forgot you weren't aware he was there until when you did your finishing move for the song spinning around his direction posing your heart out. He couldn't help but clap, enamored by the sight. That was until electric robotic eyes opened spotting him in the night vision sight. The sound that came out of you was robotic high pitched and squeaky. Like a voice synthesizer breaking to replicate as it got more robotic. You threw the spoon in pure panic leaping back in fear before crawling behind the kitchen counter as your heart and mind raced away in embarrassment.
Kurt almost immediately by instinct dashed after you trying to apologize. " Oh no, please don't run away!" You curl into a ball eyes closed tight as your heartbeat races in your ear. So tightly round up that you couldn't spot Kurt gently crawling next to you. " I'm so sorry, liebling. Even after Jean informed me to not scare you I've done it anyway. " It's like the disappointment can be heard through Kurt's voice as something about it stings. " I-i'm okay. I'm so sorry I was singing that song Kurt. I know it's perverse and I shouldn't be singing them for others to hear. I didn't wake you did I?" Bright glowing doe eyes just slightly peak into glowing golden orbs from above warm hands. Kurt smiles at how much you look like a mouse hiding like this in front of him. He truly wanted to pull you into a hug begging you to sing it again for him just so he could know the dirty promises made in German but he knew that wasn't the way to go about this.
"Do not fret over me. I was just coming to get some water. I was trying not to scare you with the lights but I couldn't help watching you be so lively and energetic. " You slowly lift your head to see the soft smile on Kurt's face as he intently looks into your glowing orbs. " You don't mind the lyrics? Or my terrible singing?" Kurt pats your hand almost jokingly scoffing at the comment. " There is no reason to mind. It is a catchy song and it sounds even better sang by a beautiful woman like you. If you wanted I could help you practice your German pronunciation. " This eases your mood as you laugh a bit. The anxiety's slowly melting away as you see the passion behind Kurt's eyes. " Maybe I should take you up on that offer in the future. "
You share a few more jokes between each other before the sound of the stove bubbling over catches your attention. Darting up you lunge towards the sweets boiling monstrously. " Oh no the carmel !?"

X-Men 97 episode 8 *SPOILERS*
Bastion
Not gonna lie, I busted out laughing when I watched his origin story. This is the second time an antagonist had to wait for a couple to make a child and use said child for their plans. Nimrod was lucky that the guy he infected was in a relationship. Plus, I thought it was gonna make Bastion sympathetic due to his childhood flashbacks, but nope.
So, he made a Utopia for humans, but the mutants are enslaved. Saw old Polaris and the Phoenix. But, what bugs me is that he claims that many of the humans consented to be turned into Prime Sentinels without knowing all the details and won't have any memory of being turned. I find it hard to believe that every single one of them would've consented, especially his elderly mother. Dude omitted many details and I'm pretty sure he turned some of them without them knowing. Plus, I'm still mad at him for killing Gambit.
Cameos of Dr. Doom and Zemo (hydra n@zi Zemo, not the MCU version). Wasn't expecting to see them being members of OZT.
Mr. Sinister's just in it for the mutant experimentation.....y'know what? I shouldn't be surprised with that reason why he "teamed up" with Bastion. More test subjects.
Summers Family
Not gonna lie, I was really annoyed with the drama between Cable and Scott. If this was comics Scott, I can understand why Cable's giving him the cold shoulder. But, this Scott didn't wanna abandon Nathan like his dad did to him! It was Madelyn that gave him to Bishop. So, if Scott was there with her, things would've been cool?! God, I'm so sick of this drama. Thank goodness that it didn't last long and that Jean stopped them from escalating it further.
Summers family vs. Prime Sentinels was pretty cool. I like that father/son fistbump, which means things will get better between the two.
It's funny that Jean's being the mom at Cable who's like this big man in his 50s.
Also, Jean and Scott's relationship is getting better which is a relief.
Nightcrawler
Once again, precious boy and MVP. What he said to Jean was really nice. He's always been there as someone's shoulder to lean and cry on. When he talked about Mystique, I felt so bad for him. Honestly, I hated what she did to him just because he was born that way. In the 90s show, she did feel guilt for what she did when Nightcrawler talked to her. But, I still didn't like her for what she did to him. However, with all the words and hugs he's given to others, I hope he has someone who'd give him words and hugs too. He also needs a shoulder to lean and cry on too.
SWASHBUCKLING NIGHTCRAWLER HELL YEAH!!! I've been waiting to see him use swords and it was worth the wait. Him teaming up with Wolverine was really cool. Plus, seeing how his teleporting works was cool too. Love that he was protecting his sister, and I'm glad that we got something with him and Logan cause we haven't had anything like that since he first appeared.
Beast
Why the hell would he let the reporter stay in?! Even if she's not doing her job, she's shouldn't be involved! It has nothing to do with her, plus, I'm pretty sure he revealed a lot of classified information that only the X-Men should be allowed to hear and see. Dammit, Beast. And, dammit Morph for letting her in too.
*sigh* Anyone else think, he's been done dirty in this episode? Cause having her stay in there got his butt kicked. Sure, he didn't know that she was a Prime Sentinel, but they do know the possibility that any human could be one, right? Now, Beast is knocked out along with Rogue, who hasn't woken up still.
Jubilee and Roberto
Okay, so they are gonna be part of the main plot, good. I was worried that they were gonna be sidelined, especially Jubilee.
His mom is a beech. She sold her son out to the Prime Sentinels and didn't believe him and for what? Her reputation?! Man, f**k this beech, she sucks. Poor Roberto though.
Finally using his powers more than once! I counted four times in this whole series so far of when he used them. It's also something that annoys me about the character. He said that he was training in the Danger Room to surprise Jubilee, but why couldn't we have seen that?! Why couldn't we have Roberto training with one of the X-Men's help and see him develop his abilities?! Hell, have Jubilee be there to train him! That way we could've seen more of his abilities and see him grow more and have him interact with other characters, bonding with them. Not just Jubilee. Maybe have him open up to when he first awakened his powers and why he wants to hide them, instead of just telling us.
On the plus side, they should be okay thanks to Magneto's magnetic EMP ability. Speaking of which....
Magneto
I'm glad he didn't get turned into a Prime Sentinel, but I still don't understand how Bastion and Mr. Sinister got his hands on him from Genosha. That blast should've killed him along with the Morlocks. I don't even think it's gonna be explained how they captured him.
His prisoner numbers....yeesh. đŹ
The one good thing that Cooper did. Letting him go and realizing that he was right. Aside from that, f**k her. Seriously, was the only good human (regular human, not enhanced) shown in this was Moira?! Cause that's what it feels like.
Now, I was confused at first with what Magneto did, but I think he went to the North or South Poles and used the Earth's magnetic field which is strongest there to cause a worldwide blackout, disabling all the Prime Sentinels. Not killing them, mind you. All while in his underwear, too.
Honestly, I wouldn't blame him if he wages war. He tried to be good. He tried to respect Xavier's dream. But, look what happened. So, I wouldn't blame him if he did this.
HOWEVER! I like that Magneto was good. Part of me doesn't want him to go back to his old ways cause that's gonna be more conflict between him and Xavier. Plus, only Logan claimed that Magneto waged war. If he did, he would've killed the Prime Sentinels, but he didn't. If anything, he'd be waging war on Bastion since he's the one responsible. But, yeah, I'm sorry Xavier. You're cool and all, but Magneto was right.
Cameos
I mentioned Zemo, Doctor Doom, Future Polaris and Future Phoenix. But there were much more.
Omega Red and the Silver Samurai, but one that made me so excited to see......SPIDER-MAN!!! I was so happy to see 90s Spider-Man. I know many would want a sequel to the animated series, but we'll have to wait and see.
The rest I wanna talk/rant about
Professor X shows up finally, but I got miffed when he said "I hope I'm not too late". CHARLES! YOU ARE VERY VERY LATE!!! I know space travel takes time, but COME ON! He better do something real quick to help stop all this crap that's been happening. Dunno how, but it better be something good.
By the way, I'm still annoyed with that black hole excuse. Why couldn't he just contact Scott and the others and stay in touch with them right when he was fully recovered or was well enough?
WHERE THE HELL IS STORM?!?!?! I know she's with Forge, but you'd think the moment she heard about Genosha, she'd head back home flying. She'll probably show up next week, but it's been like two episodes since she got her powers back. Is her not being there sooner a choice the writers made cause if she was there, the fight with the Prime Sentinels would've been over quicker? *sigh* I just wanna see one of my favorites come back and kick some butt like she used too.
I dunno if Forge is gonna come back with Storm, but I hope he does. I want him to help with this Bastion mess. Plus, he did take a photo with him, which has me worried that he was connected somehow but I hope not. It also would be cool, if he contacted the rest of X-Factor and meet up with the X-Men and team up. But, I don't think that's gonna happen.
So, Bishop is definitely out of the picture for the rest of this season, which is bullcrap. It would've been cool to have him and Cable work together again like before along with the X-Men. But, instead, the excuse was they got separated from the time stream. So, we don't even know if he's okay or if he's lost again, or if he actually made it back home. God, I feel like his character's purpose of the show was to help create another characters origin.
Okay, I think that's pretty much it. It was a good episode, even though I did rant on a lot of stuff. We'll see how parts 2 and 3 play out in the next two weeks and hope that the finale will stick the landing.

I am having Scott Summers brainrot someone call the X-men so I can give them all hugs and stuffed animals.
X-men doing a publicity thing maybe? Like when celebrities go to puppy adoption shows to encourage people to attend, but this is probably mutant/children related instead. Helping fund a new program that helps mutant kids in the system? Something like that.
Anyways! X-Men go, and in my brain itâs like.. Scott, Jean, Logan, Ororo, Charles, Kitty, Rogue, Gambit, Kurt, and Jubilee? Hank and the others stayed behind for important reasons probably. Or maybe only some of the X-men were invited. Doesnât matter.
Theyâre meeting all the kids and staff and getting to know them, and itâs super cute and people are loving it (and cheques as being signed), and they bring out a surprise. The kids picked out stuffed animals for them! Cue awws. Each of them are called forward and given the plush toys, and everyone laughs when the kids shout âI picked that one!â âNo I did!â. Scott goes last, because heâs enjoying watching, and also because he wanted to watch everyoneâs back as they went up.
Itâs very cute, all in all. And all the toys are surprisingly suiting. Scott had to bite back a rather indignant snort when Loganâs was definitely not a wolverine, but was, in fact, a rather unshapley looking Sloth. What did he say? Suiting.
Scott went up onto the small stage they had set up, and knelt down to accept his plush from one of the kiddos, who held it out shyly. âThank you,â he murmured, gently taking it and giving her a small smile. She blushed and whispered a quiet âyouâre welcomeâ before scurrying off stage. Scott held up the- he stared at it for a moment. It was a ram, or sheep? It had horns, which makes it a ram, doesnât it? It was cute, and he stroked the fur for a moment as he showed it off to the cameras with a bright smile. It was really soft.
After they had all returned home, Jean set her plush- a red panda- down on her dresser and Scott knew he should do the same butâŚ
(âYou look pretty cozy there,â Jean had told him on the flight home. Kurt was piloting, and Scott had the goat-ram-sheep tucked firmly in his arms, where he could rest his chin on it, if he so desired. Not that he did but, he could if he wanted too, and that felt nice, did some reason.
âI am cozy,â scott replied, a bit too soft, a bit to childlike, a bit to gentle for the hardened person he had become, and Jean had softened too, and given him a kiss on his temple.
âGood.â)
Scott set the plush creature down in their shared bed and gave Jean a hesitant look. Is this okay? He wants to ask. She kisses him again and tells him sheâs going to shower. Donât worry about it, she tells him without words.
He worries about it.
That night, long after he would have normally been asleep, he was stroking the soft fur of the sheep- it was a sheep, he looked it up online, sheep could have horns and he said it was a sheep and not anything else- and contemplating. He couldnât recall ever having stuffed animals, apart from when he was still with his parents, but even that is not a specific recollection, and more the knowledge that he probably did, because it would have been weird if he didnât.
After the crash though⌠well, by the time he came to the institute, he was too old to want them (to have the courage to ask), and his life got way more complicated from there, and heâd never thought about it, until today. But he liked them, stuffed animals, and they felt.. safe. Comforting. Jean mumbled in her sleep and wrapped an arm around him, pulling him closer. Scott obliged and folded himself against her, keeping the sheep close to his chest. He fell asleep soon after, and dreamt of fuzzy memories that he werenât sure were actually memories, that might have simply been the creation of a memory he wants to have, about his younger childhood.
Scott woke up warm. And content. And with a sheep tucked firmly in his arms.
/
Okay that was something um. Scott! Please send me asks about him I promise to be not insane

Negative Romys (bc I know there must be chill ones out there) @ Roguneto in Xmen 97: âNOOOOOO HOW COULD THE WRITERS DO THIS AND DESTROY ROGUE X REMY?! POOR GAMBIT!!!â
Me: *side-eying all of the Marvel material that clearly shows that Romy content severely outnumbering Roguneto content by a landslide and the same Roguneto content winding up being ruined anyway by later writers just because they can* âAh, yesâŚpoor GambitâŚâ
All jokes aside, I wonder if the Romysâ concern is that if Roguneto is positively received = somehow becoming canon in the comics later? Because I know Marvel (and DC) has a history of taking a few things that the movies/shows/ side comics have done that were well received by fans or were anticipated to be well received ahead of time by fans and sometimes the companies themselves and incorporating them into the comics later
(ex. X-23 from X-Men Evolution to actual comics, Tony Starkâs personality eventually just becoming Robert Downey Jr as a comic book character, Samuel Jackson!Nick Fury from Ultimate Marvel to MCU to secret son of original Nick Fury and goes by the same name, Magnetoâs Helmet protecting him from telepathy in Xmen First Class Movie to comics, Comic!Rogueâs real first name being a combination of her movie selfâs name and that actressâs first name, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver not being related to Magneto after all bc their movie selves werenât, Gwen Stacyâs fun alternative existence as Spider-Gwen/Woman , Miles Moralesâs (yay!) existence, Tom Hiddlestonâs portrayal of Loki influencing the comic version of him to become a sad little meow meow, Age of Apocalypseâs version of Changling/Morph being brought into X-Men 97, etc)
, but if one truly counts all of the slight/significant changes Marvel Comics have made to the main timeline because of other material, itâs REALLY not a lot.
Thereâs no need for anyone who ships Romy (which I also ship in addition to Roguneto bc yay multishipping!) to feel threatened by potential romantic alternatives.
And just in case the romantic ships might be altered after all (not likely): if the Multiverse is a thing, maybe we consider itâs not the end of the world if the relationships in the X-Men animated universe is not 100% going to follow how they played out in the comics.
ALSO also, when all else fails, they can just develop their writing/art skills and make fix-it aus đ
The chaotic neutral part of me actually kinda still hopes that enough people with get on board with Roguneto though so that the comics will see the enthusiasm for them and bring them back in the main universe and shake things up again or in one of the official alternate universes and give them the love and respect the pairing deserves đ¤Ş
I really appreciate your comments. I suppose there could be concerns from the Romy contingent regarding this. Sadly, I think at this point corporate IP is too dedicated to keeping the status quo maintained as it is for the longest time.
I agree with you, I see her relationship with Magneto as brief trysts in the mainstream universe, and an occasional AU marriage reveal. I think that Rogue and Gambit will remain a couple in the mainstream universe despite this current twist in the '97 series. There's too much time and money spent into the material, merchandise, and story that's been built for Romy in reality across various media, and in the perception of people's memories which sometimes have a rosy nostalgic glow. It takes a lot to re-educate an audience and I don't see corporations having that time and patience.
Jean and Scott will always remain together. Meggan and Brian are a duo for all time. Sue and Reed Richards are going to stay married.
No matter what, the story will always return to that. In this reboot, I think it's to give Magneto an extra angle and further reason to stay at the mansion if you leave in doubt his and Rogue's activities on and off camera.
I think my biggest complaint is how there's a circling of the wagons around Rogue when anyone (but particularly Magneto) is interested in her. It frustrates me because I believe characters should experience a lot of different relationships. It builds for a more well rounded person in reality, and a better character in the story. But with Rogue, why isn't she allowed to have other romantic encounters? Why must there be a strange arguments about age, about experience? These are traumatized beautiful people with fancy abilities in a soap opera. With capes. (And occasional opera gloves)
In short, I believe that instead of one ship, a character deserves an armada. I agree, alternate universe pairings would be fun too!
I too enjoy drama and can't wait to see how the show plays out this romance.

Crushed
The mission was simple. The X-Men are on their way to help with the relief efforts after a terrorist attack on another major city. Recently theyâve been doing everything they can just for the privilege of being allowed to live in peace. Peterâs never been one to back down, or whine about what heâs told to do, but heâs also been one of the two X-Men who have gone on every mission in the last week. Which surprisingly came up to nine in total.
Him and Raven were supposed to have the day off, but this called for all hands on deck. Charles is even sitting across from Peter. As apprehensive as they all were about him coming to the site of a disaster as large as this one, he insisted that his power would be helpful. More specifically heâs planning on keeping trapped victims calm while the others work to get them free. However, they look like a pretty poor lot.
Raven is falling asleep in her chair, her head resting on Charlesâ shoulder though she protested him coming the most. Scott and Jean are holding hands and silently staring at each other, weirdos. Storm is fidgeting almost as much as Peter is, and Hank is in the cockpit. The only one not there is Kurt, and heâs stuck at home with a broken wrist.
Peter finds himself wringing his fingers, a habit that his doctor was convinced was going to damage his hands. He barely takes notice of it, knowing that heâs too tired and jittery to actually make himself stop for more than a few seconds. Luckily itâs not too long before they land at the scene of the attack. At least as close as they can with how much wreckage and debris there is. Raven stands up, then turns to Charles.
âAlright, tell us the plan.â
âIâm going to stay here, and extend my reach to whomever needs it. Just let me know through the comms. Weâre going to be coordinating with the first responders that are already on the scene. We donât have much information on what happened so stay on your toes. Now, Jean and Scott, youâre going to head to meet the firefighters. Scott, you canât try to activate your powers for any reason. This place is too unstable for any amount of error, and Jean, you can be a great help in getting people out.
Peter and Hank, I want you two to start checking and clearing areas. Peter is fast enough to get through areas and find out if there are victims trapped, and Hank will be a good backup for you. Raven, I want you to stay with me. Youâre half asleep so you canât be of much help in such a dangerous area, and I need someone there that can handle it if anything happens. Storm, your powers are also a bit too dangerous so I want you to hang back until we have another task for you that will be safe for you to work on. Any questions?â
No one says anything so Charles nods.
âLetâs get going then.â
Raven pushes Charles out, and they make sure to head straight to the relief center thatâs been set up thatâs just far enough away from them to make sure that the plane didnât bother them. Charles immediately starts talking to them, but Peter canât seem to listen. Itâs only a few minutes before he calls for all of their attention again to give them their areas that theyâre supposed to cover. Hank is quick to grab Peterâs arm to let them know that heâs ready to go. Peter grins.
âOk, Iâll take you to the start of our area, then Iâll start looking alone. If I find someone, Iâll bring you there,â Peter suggests, and Hank nods.
âYeah, that works.â
They continue on like that for a while with Peter safely locating over a dozen victims for the first responders to get out, and rescuing just as many without the help of the first responders in half an hour.
Thatâs when Peter looks at Hank and says, âOk, so itâs not safe for me to help transport these people with the first responders. So Iâm going ahead. Are you coming, or do you want to help them, then we can meet back up?â
âThey probably need my help more than you do, so Iâll go with them. Iâll reach you over the comms once Iâm ready for you to pick me up.â
Peter nods. After all, whatever helps the most people is what theyâre going to do. Peter sits down on one of the larger pieces of debris, letting himself breathe for a minute while Hank and the first responders work on getting the people back to the first aid station. Now that heâs slowed down a little, he can feel how tired he is. His bones ache, and his muscles are really sore. It takes a few minutes before he can force himself to his feet.
He starts running again, heading to the next section for him to check. He only makes it about half way there before his foot snags on a rock, and he tumbles to the ground. He can hear something in his chest crack when he lands.
âShit.â
He sits up quickly, pain flaring around his lower ribs. It doesnât feel that bad though.
âQuicksilver, are you alright?â Charles asks through the comms, and thatâs when Peter realizes that his comm was still actively on when he fell.
Before he can answer, the ground starts to tremble.
âWhat is that?â he asks, placing his hand down on the ground with his fingers splayed out. The ground continues to tremble, so Peter climbs to his feet. âThereâs something happening in the East quarter of the disaster zone. The ground is trembling, and Iâm not-â
Heâs cut off by a high whining noise. He flinches and covers his ears, but then he sees someone in the distance. He runs towards them, thinking that it was going to be someone in trouble, or one of the first responders that he should get out of there before the ground shaking turned into something else. However, he stops dead in his tracks when he sees a man dressed in what looks like a trash bag. The shaking is worse, and he has to rebalance not to fall. Before he can ask the man what heâs doing, the dirt and debris actually starts to split apart, and Peter is thrown to the ground. His vision goes black as soon as he hits the ground.
He wakes up to someoneâs voice calling his name. Itâs surprisingly dark, and it takes him a minute to remember where he is. For just a minute he was convinced that he woke up in the school far too early for the sun to have come up. Once he does realize where he is, thatâs when he also realizes that the voice calling his name is in his head.
Charles?
Oh, thank God you woke up. I was starting to get really worried. There was some kind of earthquake. We think it was caused by a mutant because of how limited the affected area was. Do you know where you are?
Peter looks around, but he canât see anything. Itâs just really dark.
No, I donât know. I canât even remember where I was when the earthquake happened, but I was definitely in the affected area.
Ok, are you hurt?
Peter takes stock of his body before responding.
No, I think Iâm good. I canât really move, but Iâm not in any pain or anything. I think the worst I have is a concussion. Something feels off, but not bad. I just canât seem to put my finger on what it is.
Well, you seem coherent so just stay alert and wait for us to find you.
Will do boss.
He can feel when Charles ends their connection. Itâs oddly quiet aside from something dripping nearby. He finds himself idly wondering what could possibly be dripping since there was no water source nearby when he fell. It takes a while of sitting in the dark alone for him to realize what feels so wrong. Heâs still, completely still, and doesnât even feel fidgety. Even after working almost nonstop, and not getting more than a few hours of sleep for a whole week, he was still fidgeting. Most of the time he canât stop moving, but now he doesnât even feel the need to.
It sets off alarm bells in his head, but he canât seem to bring himself to care. That feels like another red flag, but he lets both go. His head starts to feel floaty after a while, and heâs pretty sure that heâs drifting in and out of consciousness. He doesnât feel Charlesâ voice in his head, so he decides that he canât have been trapped for a long time.
It feels like a long time, and his entire body is starting to feel like pins and needles are sticking every inch of his skin, and with it more pain follows. His left leg starts to feel like itâs on fire, and his hip feels completely wrong. The feeling is mostly gone from his right leg, and his right wrist and hand is also burning. The feeling in his fingers on that hand havenât fully come back, and he canât seem to curl them, but most of the feeling in his body is back even if it has brought a lot of pain. He curls his left fingers just to prove to himself that he can. The pins and needles light back up.
Maybe I have been here longer than I thought. I think my whole body might be asleep. I still canât move much even though I can feel everything again. I definitely lied when I said that I wasnât injured. So many things hurt now.
He lets himself drift off again, because itâs easier than being awake though somewhere in the back of his mind, he does think that it might not be safe to sleep. He doesnât listen to that tiny voice of reason, and goes back to sleep. When he wakes up the next time, someone is calling his name again except this time itâs not in his head. Itâs the first time that heâs heard someoneâs voice in God only knows how long, and it sounds odd. Like really far away and kind of tinny. He opens his eyes and itâs ridiculously bright. He has to close them immediately.
âOw,â he whispers, his voice almost completely gone.
Then he passes out again. He wakes up to something beeping. It sounds irregular and quiet, which somehow makes it even more annoying. He can feel someoneâs hand in his hair this time, and he squints his eyes enough to see who it is. It takes a few seconds for him to realize exactly whatâs happening.
Heâs in the jet, the person whose hand is in his hair is Raven, and her mouth is moving. Sheâs looking right at him, but he canât hear what sheâs saying. As he starts coming back into his own body, he can feel how much everything hurts. Heâs pretty sure heâs dying in that moment. Then he hears Charlesâ voice in his head even though he canât see him anywhere.
Shh, itâs going to be alright. Weâre going home right now, and weâre going to get you treated. Youâre alright, just go back to sleep.
Even though he doesnât pass out for a while, he does have a sense of calm covering him. He canât feel most of his injuries, and heâs teetering on the brink of consciousness for a while before slipping under again.
The next time he wakes up isnât so pleasant. He wakes up to liquid fire rushing through his legs, and his hand is throbbing. Heâs definitely crying, but he still canât hear any of the sounds that heâs making though he can feel them in his chest. The lights above him are bright, and Hank is standing over him, talking quickly. His vision blurs, and he feels his muscles start to spasm. Someone grabs his head, then everything goes black again.
The hand is back in his hair when he wakes up again. Though this time he can hear muffled conversation. It sounds like heâs underwater. Peter pulls his heavy eyes open. The speaking immediately stops. He turns his head and he can see Raven and Charles. Raven is still petting his hair though now theyâre both looking at him.
âHey, how are you feeling?â Raven asks though he has to read her lips to catch most of it.
âWhy are you whispering?â
Raven and Charles glance at each other with a frown. Then Charles speaks directly into his head.
Weâre not whispering, Peter. Your ears were damaged.
What happened?
You were trapped under the rubble for almost fifty hours. After I lost contact with you, we had no way of knowing where you were. There was such a large affected area, and we had a hard time finding you. I think you were far more hurt than you thought.
How bad was it?
Your left leg was badly broken as was your right hand. Your hearing was also damaged, and you have a pretty bad concussion. The issue comes in with your accelerated healing.
Peter blinks, trying to put the pieces together in his head as Charles pauses.
Your leg and hand started trying to heal without being properly set. We had to rebreak your leg to set it properly, but that is going to heal fine. Your hand was worse off. It was practically crushed and so it didnât really matter what we did to try to set it properly, we think thereâs going to be permanent damage.
Oh, my hearing?
Weâre not sure about that one since your accelerated healing is going to play into it, but weâre hopeful.
But Iâll be able to walk and run fine, right?
Yes, we managed the injuries in your leg, and that will make a full recovery.
Peter sighs, turning his head into Ravenâs hand. A single tear slips down his face as he closes his eyes, and lets himself drift off again.

House of Claremont: Warhunt! (UXM #94-96)
Hello all you happy mutants and after far too long, welcome back to the House of Claremont, my long look at the Chris Claremont era of x-men! We're finally back peforming to you after the senses shattering debut and just in time too. This year marks the 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE UNCANNY X-MEN and i've been chomping at the bit to get back to the strangest heroes of all. And while I have something bigger planned for their anniversary in july, for now you'll be hopefully getting a monthly does of mutant mayhem from here.
So when we last left off, despite the title of this feature, Len Wein kicked us off with Giant Sized X-Men #1 as a new generation of x-men was brought in to save the previous one, crabs were killed, islands walked like men and our story ended with 13 x-men and some questions as to what they were going to do with such a thing. This time we get our answer as most of those x-men leave, one who stays dosen't have long for this world, and a narrator is a real dick to cyclops. To me my x-men!
Warhunt:
So with this issue we begin Chris Claremont's actual tenure on the book⌠KINDA. See while Warhunt is scripted by Claremont Len Wein still plotted it for Giant Sized X-Men #2, where it was planned to have the All-New All-Diffrent X-Men continue. But the book was such a MASSIVE hit, they couldn't resisit bringing it back from reprints, and with Len Wein busy with editing AND the hulk, he passed it on to Chris, and the rest is history.
Warhunt picks up shortly after Giant Sized with, as so perfectly Claremontily put, the breaking of a man's heart: While Charles Xavier gladly congradulates the x-men, Sunfire decides to tell them all to fuck off, and while true to form Shiro is a dick about it.. he does make a point: he agreed to help for one mission, he did that. He never agreed to join the team and given he stormed off before the mission even began and only came back out of honor, I honestly don't know what Charles expected
The rest of the All New All Diffrent X-Men now have to decide if their staying or not: Storm is the first to agree to stay, deciding that "two days is nothing", fitting Ororo's spirit perfectly and marking a nice shift to the character we know and love, whiel Wolverine figures "Eh beats waiting around for action and shit. " Nightcrawler just sorta stands there and Colossus isn't sure.. which Xavier takes as a yes apparently as he never goes back to it and later considers it setteld after dealing with our last new member:
Xavier is a Jerk: 4
Banshee is said last one and his response is "I"m too old at 40 somethign to be doing this! Begorah or something!" but Xavier goads him with a "Well if you can't hang with these 20 somethings then bawk bawk chicken man bawk bawk" and Cyclops makes the more persuasive argument that he woudln't have to run anymore, he' dbe among friends. Banshee agrees and Xavier has an x-man and assumes it's settled.. onlyf or angel to drop this bombshell
The original x-men, minus Cyclops have all decided to leave as their adutls now and want to live their own lives. The reasoning isn't terrible.. but the execution is abrubt as hell. It's just "Whelp we were doing this yesterday but now we don't have to piss off old man!" I don't mind the original x-men leaving: Scott , as we'll get into in a moment, gives us a represntive for the old guard, and most of them come back in some form with Jean, Warren and Alex all rejoining eventually at diffrent points. It allows the new characters to breathe. But for fans of the original roster it had to be a small slap in the face ot see the originals just decide
I get this was originally supposed to be a large one shot, but for such a big event you'd thinkt hey'd of left more than about a page worth of explination. Even for the more action heavy bronze age, this is abrubt.
We do thankfully get some Pathos as there's one X-Man who isn't so sure he's getting the fuck out of there: Scott Summers. His brother.. is a bit of a dick saying "I don't mean to push you big brother butâŚ" then you do Alex. You do mean to push him. You a'll made this decision without talking to him or asking what he wanted.
God Dammit Alex: 1
Trust me.. i'm going to need this. I"m also going ot need this
Go Fuck Yourself Wolverine: `1
Yeah early on Wolverine's main personality is being a prick and trying to murder anyone within claws range, so expect this to shoot up real quick. Case in point he gets mad that⌠3 people who genuinely love and repsect professor xavier find it hard to break it to him their leaving. And alex and lorna too I guess.
So it's up to Cyclops to stay or go and we get this gem of a line
Comedy. Gold. As is the fact that to signify he's not leaving he wears his full costume to say goodbye to his friends. Oh and I almost forgot this key part of this feature
God Hates Scott Summers Count: 2
For his CURSED MUTANT ENERGY BLASTING EYES
What ends up working though is his goodbye.. and his first words outline the character arc Chris has planned for him and really speaks to WHO scott is when written at his best
Scott.. is a man of duty. This can often be poorly translated to adaptations as "boring stick up his ass man with CURSED MUTANT ENERGY BLASTING EYES action", but when written right he's the first belieiver in xavier's dream and his best student. He's a man whose trained himself and his powers to their peak and will fight to the last person, a master tacitcian who is hard to take out even if he's easy to disarm and will not give up. He's batman if batman had CURSED MUTANT ENERGY BLASTING EYES instead of cool gadgets. He's a good man doing his best for the world and his people. But he's also at the end of it.. alone. He found love, but ultimately his duty comes first because it has to. Because someone has to fight for this, someone has to keep going. The question Claremont poses, at least before things go off the rails thanks to editorial but we'll get to that is can Scott give it up? Coudl someone else do the job he's chained to? We'll find out as we go.
For now though we soon see after why he has the job as once the original class is off to form a failing superhero team or show up in just three or four issues, Scott gets the x-men to training and while I can't show it here as it's too big, we see a glorious one page spread of him pushing the x-men to their absolute limits int he danger room over the next few weeks. To quote the page
"And so it begins, the days, the weeks, of training. Six horus a day, five days a week, week in, week out until the halls of this old, venerable mansion echo and re-echo with the suonds of battle, until these neophyte x-men begin to wonder if there was ever a time when they weren't fighting for thier lives. And when they falter, give in a little, give up, a voice snaps them back into line. A harsh voice, an angry voice, biting, merciless. The voice of the man named cyclosp who drives the x-men hard and himself harder, who takes six proud unique indviduals, six loners and outcasts.. and forges them into a team "
It's a whopper of a narration and speaks to Claremont's strength: to many back then narration was just part of how comics were done. But Chris goes all out , making it every bit as descriptive and flowery as he can, every bit as gripping. Is it a tad cheesy sometimes? Oh yes, and we'll get to the shining example of that soon, but when it works, it works. Instead of feeling like he's explaning what your seeing with your eyes, it helps enhance it, adding an extra grandeur to the procedings.
At any rate eventually the training gets tiriing and Thunderbird gets cut by a laser and Cyclops yells at him, he yells back and Charles yells at both of them to "cease this shameful display"..
Professor Xavier is a Jerk Count: 5
This one is a bit .. milder though. While HOW he did it was stupid, he's right that Cyclops can't just blow up at his teammates, though Scott is just as right that Thunderbird NEEDS to be careful.
We then cut to Valhalla Military Base, the headquarters of Norad in this universe and home of several dozen missles. It's likely based on actual miltary bases, as Chris himself served in the RAF and thus likes to inject both aircraft and military stuff in where possible. So here we get one of the DUMBEST supporting characters i've ever seen. He gets an unmarked package and opens it, which itsel fis bad.. but then this happens
Okay it's actually a DIFFRENT bunch of weird animal persons with presumibly smaller dicks, but I need a minute to pick apart how much this guy deserves his darwin award. In a secure miltiary base, in a world where superheroes are a known quanitity to the point the goverment frequently calls the avengers for help and even does so with this very crisis, where supervillians are frequent and shield is likely a call away.. you decide to PRESS some random button you got in the mail. Yes his friends all joke and he assumed it was from them but even pre 9/11 i'm confident most goverment personel knew to actually.. check packages and make sure they were safe in the headquarters of fucking NORAD. I mean I get it a bunch of animal people, the ani-men naturally, teleporting in isn't what you expect but like.. someone could've set it to shut down their tech or to blast him in the face with acid or just explode in a cloud of knockout gas. There's a million ways this could've gone wrong without super furries.
What makes this somehow funnier and more agrviating? This was a PLAN. Count Nefaria's grand master plan for his Ani-Men's attack⌠was to pick the dumbest man in all of NORAD, to likely spend hours going over personel files he bought off HYDRA or something, just to pick the ONE GUY who would be stupid enough to do this and hope his buddies were equally dumb enough to not stop him. He likely tracked shifts, made sure everything lined up .. just so he could do a plan that as we'll see still ended up stupid because despite his detailed files he still didn't.
Anyways the ani men clear these guys out and we meet said count. Count Nefaria is a long time marvel villian, a chap in a dracula style suit and cape and i'll admite a dope ass monocle. Sadly despite said dope ass monocle⌠I really have never liked him. He later gained a crapton of superpowers.. but all he's ever been to this point is a generic bwahahaha villian who happens to just be powerful, and ta this point he isn't even that. Hopefully the currently running x-men: lethal legion fixes this, but for now he's just one of the more boring villians the avengers and x-men have fought despite his singifigance to both. It's not a huge shock that despite reinventing plenty of old x-men foes , this guy never showed up again and was brought in by his predecssor's plot. Anyways Nefaria puts the rest of the facility to sleep with some mmmmm drugs and makes his demands, which Charles calls the x-men in to hear. Turns out he was forwarded this by beast. As I mentioned last time Beast was an avenger at the time, so he wasn't there for the big goodbye and is also kinda confused all his friends are gone and Charles.. dosen't bother to explain
Xavier is a Jerk: 6
I get they only have three hours but he could you know say "I will tell you in a little bit but for now these are the x-men" I mean he probably did but there's exactly ONE person Hank knows in that group. He's bound to have questions like "are the others okay" "where did they go" and "why are you such a dick sir and can future me take lessons for you when I go into my mostly supervillian phase?"
Xavier ratchets up another
Xavier is a Jerk: 7
Right after as he forces Scott to take thunderbird with them despite being injured and planning to punch cyclops if he refuses. Because that will surely end well.
At any rate our heroes head in and we get our first instance of anti-mutant racisim in this run as the general was expecting the avengers, though while he's not happy about "You muties" the first apperance of Chris' fantastic slur that would become a staple of x-men from here on, he has no choice⌠and the x-men have only 45 minutes. So it's like metroid if ridley was a european count clearly doing some hard meth.
Our heroes encounter a big roadblock as Nefaria lobs missles at them while calling them his greatest enemies.. when at this point all they did was fight him once, while the avengers destroyed his castle, go thim deported to italy and thrown out of the maggia. IT's not a huge shock he went back to fighting them after this as it feels more personal and he started getting minons and such.
At any rate our heroes soon face the bases sonic disruptor.. aka SOME SORT OF DEATHRAY THAT COMPLETELY DESTROYS THE BLACKBIRD.
Also
Blackbirds Destroyed: 1
I have a feeling i'm going to need this.
We enter our next issue as the x-men are FREEEE, FREEEE FALLLIN. Cyclops, once he recaps the previous issue in his head, comes up with a plan: have storm and banshee each take two people, and nightcrawler just teleport. This.. is one of Cyclops less proud moments as said plan is tripped up by two things he really should've known after weeks of training or at least asked about before trying to field test them: Kurt CAN teleport⌠but the law of conservation of energy means his velocity sticks. This nicely not only adds a weakness to kurt's powers, but also explains why he can come out of it into a punch or what have you: his momentum goes with him, while Banshee can only carry one at a time and thus has to come back for scott. It makes Scott come off like a weak leader: I get not knowing EVERYTHING, no one will know about Wolverine's healing factor for some time, but it's weird to emphasis they've trained together for weeks.. and then not have Cyclops test one of the most vital manuvers a team needs to pull off, especially when you reguarly travel by jet and said jet can easily be batted out of the air by enemies. I mean the death ray is diffrent and their will be a good explination when we get to magneto why he wasn't on the roster for training, but getting out quickly and safely in case the jet crashes should be one of the first things he prepares for and feels weird he didn't.
As for colossus we do get a very ncie payoff ot that scene I drew attention to last time where Storm REFUSED to let him drop despite him asking to, and he was understandably annoyed. We find out why as this time with this delightful image.
It's a nice funny moment, and while everyone worrying h'ed killed himself is a bit.. much givne they haven't known him long and don't know what he can survivie, the payoff is genuinely hilarious. Everyone doubted him, but PItor.. is just fine. We also get a ncie little scene of Banshee rescuing cyclops.
Now their at the base Scott gets his braincell back and has a fairly clever plan, have Nightcrawler teleport inside: while blind telporting is incredibly risky for Kurt, here it's less of an issue as he at least has an idea since it is an access hatch. He soon encounters one of the Ani-Men croaker and we get mroe anti-mutant hysteria in an intresting way: despite bein ga mutate (i.e. a human given powers via a vat of radioactive cream of wheat or what have you instead of the x-gene), Croaker is still a bigot, considering Kurt a freak despite having every reason to sympathize, showing that bigory.. is often just blind stupidity. Kurt beats his racist ass though but he gets away and the X-Men deal with a few issues: murder gas, brainwashed soldiers, etc.
We then get a fight with the ani men, which is sadly short, but still fun. Honestly I like THEM even if I don't like the count as they have intresting desgins, a unique dynamic with the x-men as seen with croaker and the tragedy of badly wanting ot be human again. It's sad they didn't show up again even if it's good count chocula didn't. The fight also has a truly great moment when we see what happens when you try and use hypossi on a man whose control of his CURSED MUTANT ENERGY BLASTING EYES is the only thing keeping you safe.
So with that the team splits, most of them trying to shut down the doomsmith in time while Thunderbird and Banshee go after Nefaria.. and this⌠is where we get what this story is known for. Nefaria attempts to get away in a plane, but Thunderbird refuses to let him and jumps on it, recklessly attacking him while everyone BEGS him to stop from Banshee to Xavier. Granted Xavier also does the dick move of yelling at cyclops for focusing on the doomsmith.. despite Scott having no way to know Thunderbird is in danger nor the Doomsmith was destroyed in the fight until Xavier TELLS him these things
Xavier is a Jerk: 8
Seriously I didn't expect this to stack up so quick. At any rate the x-men run tos ave thunderbird from himself, but he refuses Xavier's warnings and the others ar etoo later⌠and all Charles can do.. is stay with him as the inevetible happens
Thunderbird is dead. The first x-man has fallen in the line of duty. And I know Changeling died as Xavier's body double, but this is the first example that was purely in duty. And it'd stick till 2021 which for comics.
As for WHY it happened it's simple: the team didn't need two argumantive tough guys. You only needed one to reguarly tell Cyclops
And since Wolverine was more popular and had more unqiue powers with his claws, Johnny was chosen to bite the bulet.. or plane.
I"m torn on this decision. On the one hand, I see why they choose Wolverine to live: he had a hell of an intro fighting the hulk, and while he wasn't exactly well liked at first, he fit the role of contrarian jackass better as unlike Thunderbird, he clearly HAD seen a lot of field duty so he had just enough cred to understand why he keeps checking cyclops, but just enough psychotic rage for you to pick Scott over him at this point. In contrast Thunderbird was just a punk kid who came out of nowhere and constantly got himself in danger. HIs death made more sense.
The problem is int he implications: they took a frustrated 20 something who hated white people.. and had him die for ignoring a white guy and that be all he's EVER known for for several decades. I get Len really didn't think these implications through, but the fact no one else ever thought to fix this till 2021 (though the Hickman era TILL then gets a pass as they likely had said revivial planned), is messed up. It's not the most messed up racial landmine the x-men have ever dealt with , but it's still pretty bad not helped by John being one of only two POC on the team at the time of his death and another POC character wouldn't join till 14 years later with Forge. He's also literally drawn with red skin. It was this fucked up coloring thign they did back then, Shang Chi's was gold at first. That's not Chris nor Len's fault, but it is profudly fucked that was marvel policy and shoudln't really go without mention. Chris would get slightly better at this as while he didn't add any more poc to the x-men, the new mutants were far more diverse, and Dani Moonstar would go on to be a fully fleshed out three dimensional native american character and not one who feeds into harmful sterotypes and dies in the span of three issues.
Overall Warhunt is.. eh. While Len did a great job plotting the first story this one feels way more rushed and really should've had another issue to breathe or two before they killed off John as while his death is presented well.. we barely knew him. It dosen't help that while the ani men like I said are intresting, Nefaria REALLY dosen't have a strong connection to the x-men or come off as much of a threat. They try , but his plan is so stupid and he does so little besides teleport in after his minons do the hard part and seemingly die in a plane crash, that it's no wonder Claremont had zeor intrest in having him come back despite having taken an x-man with him. The story is impotant historically.. but honestly reads fairly dry. Thankfully dry, rife with implications, or bad aren't things you can really say about our next story
Night of the Demon:
Now we properly begin Chris' run on the book with one of my faviorite single x-men issues. I mean there are a lot, Chris was great at longterm story but just as fantastic at making one off stories, but this one just has a great pacing, bonkers premise that ends up working, and some good character moments.
It also helps it begins with one of the most hilarious moments in x-men history that also somehow still works dramatically. The first page or two is the narration just.. berating cyclops, who naturally is taking his first casualtiy as a leader not at all well and while I get the intent, it's mostly just Scott beating himself up but since internal caption boxes weren't a thing yet , it instead comes off as the narrator yelling at him, cumilating in this glorious pile of panels.
The Narrator is a Jerk: 1
What keeps it from being just hilaroius though is scott following it up by letting loose with his powers for the first time, really letting it all out.. and destroying the surronding forest leaving a devistated husk.. and also destroying some old obelisk. Eh probably nothing to worry about.
And you can really tell Chris has been left to his own devices with scott⌠because we get ANOTHER graet character defining moment here.. not only does Scott berate himself for doing this.. but he also comes to term with the death quickly, but in a way that makes sense for him: He wanted to be the leader.. choose it over leaving..a nd this is what comes with it. Sometimes you train up a good man .. and sometimes he dies. You can't control it. John choose to stay on the plane⌠and Cyclops has to choose to go on living, wishing john a nice rest in piece.. while smoke rises behind him which can only mean one thing
While that goes on the x-men train and Logal reacts to a stray blow by cyclops like a sane, well put together indvidual
Yeah this is probably the most infamous of Early Logan's jackassery. He attempts to murder TWO diffrent teammates because one accidently hit him (and apologized and made sure he was okay) and another laughed at him. And his second would be victim is now his best friend.
Rather than deal with the fact one of his X-Men just tried to stab another in front of him Charles instead talks to Banshee about Scott's mental stateâŚ
I mean I can't fault him for worrying about Scott or the roving narrator stalking him, he's the closest thing he has to a son as far as he knows. But is he really going to say nothing about Wolverine trying to make Kurt into blue sauerkraut. Raelly? Well okay then
Xavier is a Jerk: 9 There is a layer to this I didn't notice till I started writing the review though: Charles confides in Sean⌠because he's likely the next one up if Cyclops needs time off to mourn or to set himsef straight. It's a great use of show don't tell, impliclty telling us Banshee is the x-men's second in command at this point. It also makes sense at this point: Storm , Colossus and Nightcrawler are all brand new to this and Wolverine just tried to cut up two diffrent teammates for looking at him funny. Sean by contrast has fuller control of his powers, has been at this a while and while new to x-manning has the stablity and experince needed. It's also intresting to already hint at something years down the line: the idea of an x-man lineup without cyclops. Keep in mind we're only on issue THREE of claremont's run and fourth of this era overall, but intentional or not the seeds for a later arc are there. Wethere this scene helped him decide on where Cyclops went during his run or something else, it's neat to note.
Finally for this scene Charles asks Sean to go meet their house keeper.. and meet her he doesâŚ
Moria MacTaggert, scientest, secret mutant , the love of sean's life.. and for this arc ostebnsible housekeeper, though Claremont already clearly has other plans for her.
More on that in a bit for now we cut to Project Armageddon.
Yes Project Armageddon is the brain child of Stephen Lang who weirdly is not , as far as we currently know, related at all to Scott Lang. For now i'm just going to assume he's Scott's deranged cousin he dosen't like to talk about. You can easily see why in this panel as he outlines the project to former friend and air force col micheal rossi, whose here to see if the goverment should scrap this..
Okay 1) if this wasn't the us goverment i'd be honestly shocked he embezzled a billion dollars and their just now caring about it, and 2) Ther'es nothing that quite sells your project like wide eyed ranting about how you need to 'KILL THEM BEFORE THEY KILL US KILL THEM ALL". Granted nowadays you'd have cable news talking about how your an upstanding indvidiual whose just misunderstood, so maybe Lang just pitched it in the wrong decade. At any rate Lang is convinced thanks to previous arcs the mutants are a threat, feeling they killed Bolivar Trask and Larry, his so. Both died due to his own creations the sentinels, who I assume need no introduction but for those who have never heard of the x-men apparently their giant killer robots designed to kill mutants.. who usuallyd ecide the best way to do that is to enslave humanity too, yet keep getting built because humans be smart. So yeah he's talking out of his racism hole and Rossi intends to shut down the project which Lang naturally responds to by saying he'll never get to washington.. ALIVE.
Lang is the first racist the x-men face in this run and feels like the blue print to most anti-human bigot antagonists afterwords: he bleivies "their going to replace us", uses sentinels, and has an elaborate plan for genocide done in secret. It's a blueprint the x-men will see a lot and most human villians from here on out follow in some way up to Orchis in present day, but with enough variety to not get too tiresome.
Back at the mansion Sean flirts with Moira, kicking off one of the most stable and enduring relatoinships in x-men history which surely won't end horribly and have Sean become a spooky ghost as a result, while Storm questions who the eff is this? Xavier says "tha'ts my affair" but assures her her secrets safe with him. Why dosen't he tel lher? Because
Xavier is a Jerk: 11
Anyways this party is interupted like most x-men parties⌠by Cyclops getting thrown thorugh the window, in a way that feels like a young kevin eastman and peter laird were taking notes⌠and as for what did it.. .well you'd think given what the x-men usually fought it'd be a supervillian, perhaps the juggernaught or one of 80 aliens they fought in the OG Era or maybe stephen lang got started early.. but no the result.. is gloriously batshit and out of left field.
Yeah for those less familiar with the x-men⌠Chris started an important trend: ANYTHING can go in an x-men story. The X-Men rival the TMNT in terms of "franchises that are a core part of me that really can do whatever the fuck I want. " Part of the problem with the films as they went on is they tried to tamp down on the inherent weirdness instead of embrace it which made sense for the first trilogy, as they were trying to sell superhero movies to an audience at all, but by the mcu era where the compettition was throwing out talking racoons it made less nad less sense ot not go to space or bring in a giant one eyed demon who happened to be sealed in Charles back yard for some reason. It' sone of the big charms of Claremont's Run: he knows Comic BOoks can be inherently goofy⌠and thus leans into it, decades before the 2000's made it more standard practice. He has over the top villians and set pieces but grounds them in character. I mean this demon what was sealed in Charles back yard.. came from Cyclops being in deep grief over his first casualty as a commander.
It also shows the gulf between Nefaria last issue and Kireok here. Kireok.. also dosen't really go on to be all tha timportant, with other demons taking his spot once we get into everything with Limbo here and over in new mutants. But where as Nefaria is a standard d-list super villian, Kirreok is an unstoppable, horrifying demon. A being who EAISLY steamrolls through most of the x-men's early attempts, shaking off Cyclops at full power, which we just saw decimate a forest, shurging off coloss and nightcralwer tyring to pummel him and easily downing storm. the only one who can harm him.. is wolverine⌠and it's only by sinking to the monsters brutal level
Once again Chris well sums up where the characters are at: in this case Wolverine is a murderous beserker, able to go after foes with a savage rage purely on instinct.. but as we've seen it also means he attacks his own allies, has no real friends ad this point.. and unlike how he'll be later he enjoys it. He LIKES being more beast than man and is glad for it.. the questoin is really.. how long will this stick?
At any rate Kirreok proves how deadly he is by regenerating, so Charles does the natural thing and tries to read his mindâŚ. and we get one of dave cockrums best panels. I haven't talked much about his art but it's a thing of beauty..and it's at one of it's heights here
Cosmic Horror Nightmares distlled into one panel, breaking the usually inflappable heart of the x-men. Thankfully Charles recovers because he's been through some shit and sends storm to do it. We get another good character moment and it's incredible just how many claremont packed into one issue. It dosen't slow down the main story either, each one's baked in but we've got moments that clearly set up character arcs for Cyclops, Wolverine and now storm who flies to go face these demons. Oh and MOira who I amost forgot to mention goes after Kirreok with a convient gun from the conveient armory we'll convenetly neve rheard about again.
But Storm's scen eis a classic as she gets swarmed by demons and i'ts a shame Cockrum's two runs on the books didn't have at on of demons, as he's very good at horror artwork and the monsters look truly grotesque and alien. Thankfully he WOULD ge tto design several actual aliens, so it ballances it's just a shame. But what we do get is horrifying as storm is enricled⌠and then flashes back to a happy childhood.. before seeing herself buried in rubble. This will be crucial next time as her clastrophobia comes more into focus but for now it means sh'es free and can seal the cairn the demons came from with lightning. Our heroes one.. but Storm is convienced Kirreok will return while Col Rossi apparnetly died in a firey explosion. And that's where we leave it.
Next TIme: We find out Stephen Lang's evil master plan as the sentinels return just in time for christmas! Cyclops brother sucks suprising no one! And the Juggernaught returns but can the all new x-men stop this motherfucker? UNtil then, thanks for reading my x-men

X-Men Movie Tier List Update- X-Men: Dark Pheonix
For a while, I have heard how much of a failure "Dark Pheonix" was with people calling this the worst movie out of the franchise, which made me very worried for my first time watching it. "Here we go again," I thought, "a second try of doing the Dark Pheonix saga again, and they're going to fail AGAIN." So I came to this expecting nothing, just maybe hoping if it's at least better than TLS. And then I watched it...
For one thing, they kept the space origin from the comics, so I did get my space-energy-bird-deity, albeit its only just space energy and not be a bird until the ending nor an actual deity. So alright, they got one thing right. What about Jean? Maybe they won't put much of a focus on her, just like TLS- OH MY GOD, THEY MADE HER AN ACTUAL CHARACTER. Like she has a reaction to having the energy manifesting in her during a space rescue mission with the X-Men and feeling fine at first. However, after her first outburst during the night they came back from space, she goes into a short coma, but it was during this time she actually felt that her dad is still alive when at first, she thought he died with her mother following a car accident caused by her first use of her powers, so she goes out to find him.
AND OMG THEY HAVE A BRIEF FOCUS ON SCOTT AND JEAN'S RELATIONSHIP! Scott wants to know if Jean is really ok from the energy and wants her to stay when she woke up from her rest, but Jean wants to look for her dad while not wanting to hurt Scott again, so she puts him to sleep. But when she gets to her family home, that's when she found out that her father gave her to Charles so he can get rid of her. On top of that, the reason that she didn't know that was because Charles put in a mental wall around that memory when he took her to the school. So now, she has a power she can't control AND the fact a part of her life since the accident was a lie the whole time made by Charles. Following that, the X-Men show up to bring her back to the school, but Jean can't trust any of them and fights them, which results in her injuring them and the accidental death of Raven. Feeling that there is no one else she can go to, she then gets advice on how to stop this by going to Erik and his island community he got after the events of "Apocalypse." But that goes nowhere when he asks Jean on who she killed, since she doesn't want to tell him she killed Raven, and the military arrive to take her in, so now she flies off and goes into hiding.
As for the X-Men following Raven's death, they're all just divided on what to do, especially how their reputation following "Apocalypse" has the public treating them as heroes, but now has returned to seeing them as a threat, with the government now putting up camps for mutants, following the fight with Jean. Scott and Charles still want to go after her to help her, while Hank just wants to kill her to avenge Raven. There is this excellent scene between Hank and Charles with hank chastising Charles and how it was his fault that Raven is dead by lying to Jean the whole time, this then leads to Hank asking help from Erik, which he agrees to since Hank told him that Jean killed Raven.
There's this whole moral dilemma on what to do with Jean: do they get her and give her the help she needs despite she could possibly kill them all and put the world in further danger, or do they kill her and help the greater good for the sake of mutant/human relations and avenging Raven? This... THIS IS ACTUALLY GOOD! I was thoroughly invested in this whole thing! I legitimately thought that this was going to be underrated, like "The Wolverine."
And then I saw the second half and I understood why. The second half just falls apart with it just feeling rushed to me with a lot of cuts through it. I'm not sure if there was a short deadline during the writing process or if they don't know what to do. For one thing, some of the characters just feel that they're there just to help the rest, with Ororo and Kurt being by the sidelines. Peter is out of the movie past the fight with Jean by being in a coma and only comes back in the ending. I felt like there was gonna be an arc with Kurt not wanting to kill anyone until he has to, since he started being kill-happy on the aliens in the train after an officer died. Scott should have a bigger role here in wanting to help Jean since he didn't have much after the first half, hell you could also show a little bit of him becoming a field leader.
The whole sequence and how they teamed up in the train definitely felt rushed since they all agreed to protect Jean from the aliens. I get it's because Charles convinced Erik since that's what Raven would've done but couldn't there be a new climax be at the camp they get sent to and that's where they agree to help and have the train just be them debating on who's right or wrong?
Raven is kinda weird here. I understand that she is just worried about the team in how Charles treats them as soldiers doing everything for humankind. Also, that X-Women line is just hilariously bad writing wise. I would've liked a bonus scene of Raven telling Charles on how he should've told Jean the truth about her father and not just hide it from her and treat the rest of the team like actual people. This can coincide with an arc that has Charles deciding to leave the role of leader and head of the school and give it Hank at the end of the movie.
The aliens were meh here, just generic "We want to take over the world and restart everything for us to live in" stuff by manipulating Jean in using her new powers to their benefit. The weakest part of the movie. Also, that "Emotions make me stronger" line just felt out of nowhere and that should be sort of built up earlier, like when the head alien tells Jean that her powers don't make her human or mutant, but as a goddess and how she shouldn't have emotions since they are "for humans."
Jean just forgiving Charles for the mental block thing is absolutely rushed, like couldn't there be more time here and have Charles apologize to Jean in her mind and how she wants to protect her from her powers, but he now realizes that he shouldn't see her and the team as kids and he should've treated them better.
I really want something more from this, just give more time in writing and production to flesh out the characters here, because this has a very strong first half. I am more disappointed that it didn't pan out well, because if the rest of the movie actually followed that strength, then this could probably be a B tier. But as it is, its just in C tier, although it surprisingly surpassed "Apocalypse," so I'll give it that. I just see a lot of potential here that can be fixed. It is kinda weird how I put it in front of "Apocalypse" and not before it, but that might change one day.
Now this may currently be the last X-Men movie before the MCU makes their own, but its not the last one on this retrospective list, as the last movie is a forgettable one, not that the movie itself is forgettable, just the fact that there are multiple delays and when it was released that it fell out of the public eye. For the last movie, we see a group of teenage mutants in a facility made for them in the middle of nowhere in "The New Mutants." We're in the endgame here, so let's see if it ends with a bang or a whimper.

Warren makes a return in this issue, which begins with his girlfriend Candy retiring to their apartment. Unfortunately, he's been kidnapped and one of the assailants- a huge man named Sunder- is waiting to attack her. She manages to call Xavier, who sends the nearest X-Man, Kurt. Unfortunately, he's in Amanda's hot tub with her, and there's nowhere else safe within range, so he ports over, grabs Candy, and reappears in the tub. We cut to the Hellfire Club, where Emma Frost has arrived looking for Shaw before immediately falling into a coma. Someone is stalking the Inner Circle, toying with them for amusement. But we'll pick up on that thread later. The X-Men have gathered in Amanda's apartment- Kitty in yet another new costume, I guess to differentiate her from the New Mutants- and leave Amanda and Lockheed to defend Kitty while they follow Warren. Ororo asks if Rahne can join them as a tracker, since Logan is away, but Xavier refuses to put the New Mutants in the field and gives them a mini Cerebro that can track Warren. They venture down into deep subway tunnels to follow the trail, and are attacked by a horde of strange mutants. Kitty is separated from the group, and rendered ill by the mutant Plague. She's saved by Caliban, the empath tracker from a while ago that tried to kidnap her and has apparently joined up with this group. Continuing the search, Ororo, Kurt, and Peter find a huge tunnels deep below anything they knew existed. Kurt is very worried about Ororo, who's both scared of being this deep and acting cold for reasons she refuses to talk about. They find Callisto, the leader of this group, called the Morlocks. She's kidnapped Warren to serve as her husband and prince. Ororo is painfully reminded of the long teased but still unrevealed incident that happened when she was twelve, when a man looked at her the way Callisto looks at Warren. As the Morlocks attack the X-Men, a similar situation plays out nearby, where Caliban decided that he has fallen in love with Kitty, and makes desperate plans to save her from Plague's disease so she can stay with him forever.
Issue 170 is very special to me, because I have a copy signed by Claremont and Smith. It begins not with a follow-up to the cliffhangers, but with Scott and Madelyne on their first date. They're dancing in silence, even after the music stops, until she finally breaks away and starts a conversation. Dancing is one of Claremont's favorite motifs in the weird Scott-Jean-Madelyne love triangle, and here it shows how Scott is using her to cling to something that's over. He tells her about Jean, and shows her a picture, which is understandably freaky for her, but he also says that he really does like her, despite the weirdness. Neither of them are sure if this is something real or a weird coping mechanism for Scott, but they both want to find out. Back in New York, the X-Men watch helplessly as Callisto moves forward with her wedding plans, Warren pinned by his wings to a wall. The heroes break free, and Kurt takes out Callisto and ransoms her for their freedom. There's a panel where Kurt stands on the wall surrounded by brimstone, gazing over Warren, who's still unconscious and pinned up in a way that resembles a crucifixion pose. I don't think there's any real subtext to this panel, but it's a very cool piece of imagery. Plague touches Ororo and demands a surrender, which Kurt and Peter have no choice but to accept. Callisto tells them the story of the Morlocks- they were brought together by her and Caliban, who could track the others down. Like Caliban, none of them can fit in with the human world, so they found refuge in this abandoned bomb shelter from the Cold War. Speaking of Caliban, in his room, Kitty briefly wakes and promises to stay with him if he helps save the X-Men. In another abrupt cutaway, we find ourselves in a dream Mystique is having of being trapped in 1783. She's being hunted by Jason Wyngarde and Jean Grey, but just before the kill, she wakes up. Destiny, her "roommate," tells her that there are forced blocking her powers, just before they discover that Anna has run away. Back in the tunnels, Callisto offer Kurt membership in the Morlocks, but he says he refuses to give up Xavier's dream. Just then, Caliban arrives, begging someone to save Kitty. Kurt says they need to get her to a medical facility, but Callisto refuses, and no one will disobey her. Caliban says the only way is to beat Callisto in a combat challenge to the death to win leadership of the Morlocks. Kurt challenges her, but Ororo says that as team leader, she'll take the battle for him. No powers are allowed in the fight, so Callisto gives her a knife, which she wields with cold precision. Callisto thinks it'll be an easy fight, drawing some blood and knocking off Ororo's tiara, but Ororo trips her up with her cape and stand her through the heart. Callisto survives thanks to the Morlocks Healer, but Ororo had no idea whether that would happen. She offers the Morlocks sanctuary with Xavier, but Caliban says their place is here. Kurt and Peter are shocked that Ororo broke her vow against killing, but they follow her out of the tunnels with the unconscious Warren and Kitty. For one final scene in Alaska, Scott tells Madelyne his secret identity by flipping a coin and blasting a hole through it in midair. It looks like a ring, and he gives it to her, which is some pretty obvious symbolism for the bond they already have. When he explains the curse of his power, her first thought is how awful it must be for him to live with it. Scott is incredibly guarded, even around his family, but he tells Madelyne his secret without hesitation just because she asked. It's a very sweet moment, and they embrace as our story ends.
A lot happened in these issues, and I'm not gonna say anymore about Madelyne here, because in a few issues she'll be getting a lot of focus and I'll talk about her story as a whole. Kurt got a lot of thought bubbles and things to do, which is great. He doesn't usually get that kind of focus during missions, usually saving his character moments for the downtime parts of the stories. It's very interesting that we see Ororo's duel from his perspective rather than hers, but it's a great choice. This is a huge change in Ororo's personality, and doing it this way leaves the reader as shocked as her friends are. Ororo the claustrophobic pacifist attempting murder to become ruler of an underground society is very ironic, and speaks to how much turmoil her identity is in. The Morlocks are very important thematically over the next few years, a reminder that not all people experience persecution the same way and that the X-Men aren't just fighting for mutants like them. They're also fighting for the lowest of mutants, the ones who can't or won't fight for their own dreams. I don't know what it is about Paul Smith that Claremont trusts so much, but there's more textless panels in issue 170 than I think I've seen in any issues so far. This is definitely not a complaint, because the art is incredible and often speaks for itself. Another cool thing about this story is that for most of these two issues, the A plot is following a team of three. Over the next couple years of the book, Claremont will be spending some time with smaller groups of characters as opposed to always using the full team. I like that he's willing to play with the format. It's the right choice for the book right now, and when he renews the focus on full team stories somewhere around Mutant Massacre, it's the right choice for the book then.

My theory is that the Jean we see at the end of ep 2 isn't the real Jean. That's Maddie, but everyone is going to be made to think she's the real Jean to create chaos at the mansion so she has a chance to kidnap baby Nathan for Sinister, which will give real Jean and Scott a reason to stay with the X-Men as the desperately look for him.
It doesn't make any sense for Sinister to replace Jean with a clone when she's alive and well and married to Scott. It's not like in the comics where Jean died after The Dark Phoenix Saga so he had to set Scott up with her clone (which was a later retcon because editorial wanted to resurrect Jean for X-Factor). Replacing Jean seems pointless in the show's continuity, but creating a clone to kidnap the baby makes perfect sense.

For mental health reasons, I'm going back to my roots and doing imagines again, but this time with my new fixation: the xmen (doesn't mean I won't do fics btw, just that it's not my main content anymore).
Here's X-men with a human s/o
Cyclops
Very chill about it, as with most things
He's one of the biggest believers of "humans and mutants are equal", so he really doesn't even think about the difference between you two
Well, ok, he does in times of danger and crisis tho
He's the type to try and explain that he doesn't think you're weak, per say...
It's just that there are some things and people out here that you simply can't defend yourself against
Scott is naturally protective, but he's just a little more alert for trouble when he's with you
Gambit
Actually, sometimes I feel like he doesn't really consciously identify as a "mutant" tbh
By that I mean, he considers himself to be just like anyone else, rather then being a Mutant First(tm), human second type
He's a "Can't we all get along" type, until someone starts causing trouble for mutants
....Which happens rather often, it seems
He doesn't hate humans, but he's a little suspicious at times
He'll flirt with you easy, but when things start getting serious he may start to lay off a little
It's not personal, you just need to earn his trust a little first
Thankfully, he's a good judge of character and will come around in his own time
Jean
You guys get along so well!
Unsurprisingly, Jean has the same mindset as Scott as far as human and mutant relations
It's a little easier for her to blend into human society then it is for Scott however
That, and her lighter personality make it so that you wouldn't even know she's with the X-men at all
She's nothing if not transparent tho, and as long as she trusts you, will be pretty forthcoming about it all
Jean does feel a bit of responsibility in keeping you safe from harm, but she's not as inadvertently condescending about it as Scott can sometimes be
But don't be fooled, just because she's a little more tactful about it doesn't mean she's going to let you anywhere near danger tho
Nightcrawler
Interestingly, Kurt also holds the mutants and humans are equals ideology too, even with all he's been through at the hands of humans
The two are both created equally after all, and the sins of the few do not mean the sins of all as far as he's concerned
He is, however, very aware of his appearance meaning it's quite impossible for him to go the gambit route and act as though he too is "just like everyone else", despite how he feels
He's probably just more surprised that you actually want to be with him then anything specifically about you being a human or something tbh
I could see him trying to use an image inducer around you a lot, at least for the first little while
Don't worry tho, after a while and with some reassurance, he'll get used to going about in his natural form
Kurt's power is extremely passive rather then aggressive, just like his personality, so while I defiantly see him being protective of you...
He's more likely to just teleport you both away and stay out of dodge rather then fight for your honor or anything lol
Rogue
If you think being with Jean is a cool time, just go ahead and crank that up to 11 with Rogue
She honestly doesn't give a shit about whether you're a fellow mutant or not, and once she knows, she doesn't think about it
Well, sometimes in a moment of insecurity she might... But never does she think about you in a bad way
She's probably the most relatable in a sense, because as a mutant who looks fully human, she also wants nothing more then to be human too
Maybe you two can work out a way to get in quick moments of contact without it being to dangerous for you
She'll protest this, of course, but who knows? Maybe it's possible to build a little resistance
Because if such a thing is possible...
Gosh, you better get ready, because she'd never leave your side after all you've done to try and get closer to her
Sabretooth
Ok ok, I know that like basically ever since the 80s or so Sabretooth has been portrayed as little more then a bloodthirsty, human hating, killing machine...
But in his earlier debuts, at least once he's expressed a genuine sense of loneliness and desire to acquire a partner for himself
Sure to get there he basically kidnapped a human woman and held her hostage down in the tunnels where he was living, but you wouldn't be reading this if you didn't want to know how this could possibly work out would you?
I'll also have you know that in that very same comic, he's described by said woman as having been surprisingly nice to her and showing no signs of aggression, so there's that
Personally I kind of... don't like "smart sabretooth", if you will, but in a world where he can speak in complete sentences and use technology without smashing it in a fit of frustrated rage:
He will never let you forget that you are an itty bitty human and will tease you for it a lot
Don't take this as him not caring about you though, he's easily the most protective mf-er on this list and would, quite literally, both kill and die for you
No one gets to touch his frail
Storm
Another one for the humans and mutants are equal lot
She does, however, acknowledge that there are more often then not, notable differences between the two tho
Storm admires human resilience as well as their capacity for good, despite what some of the masses may get up to
As a result, she tends to see that trait in you and appreciates your support for mutant rights and freedoms
She can be a little intense and seem stern at times, but that's really only when she's been on missions
It can be difficult for her to relax because of how her emotions tie into her powers, but she says that simply being able to enjoy your company helps
If you two really get to know each other, you might catch her growing a little more playful with her powers around you
A gust of wind to tussle your hair, a splash of rain to cool you off, stuff like that
Times like these are rare admittedly, but knowing she's this comfortable around you is a reward all in it's own
Toad
Sabretooth is a special case, so he's excluded here, but Toad definably has the hardest time of all the others here getting on with a human s/o
It may have something to do with his feral nature, but while Vic still expresses the desire to "find a mate", be them human or mutant, despite what he too went through at the hands of humans as a kid...
Toad has no such designs, neither to go with his mutation nor to simply help him push past his childhood hatred for humans
Kurt may think he knows how it feels to be mocked, feared, and shunned, but even he eventually found some peace in his little monastery
Mort has had no such luck. Even his fellow mutants belittle him
Any advance from a human, even just friendly ones, will be instantly rejected
...However. He won't go so far as to completely keep distance from you
He may hate humans, but... Well... Maybe there is a little piece of him that's still holding on for acceptance
He's EXTREMELY slow to trust you, but once it's earned, you'll find he's actually very sweet and caring
Unfortunately tho, I don't really see him being able to drop the inferiority complex he's had ingrained into him anytime soon
Wolverine
Are you kidding? This guy has had so many human relationships, it's almost a joke
He never really talks about it, but there have been a few rare times where wolverine, like Rogue, has also expressed a desire to just be human instead of a mutant
Unlike Rogue, he will never discuss this with you however and assuming you don't somehow know he's a mutant before hand, he will most likely do his best to make sure things stay that way
Especially if he reeeeeally likes you
He more so hates what was done to him rather then his actual powers tbh, so while he's not particularly ashamed of being a mutant or anything like that...
He'd just rather you didn't know unless if you have to
Regardless of if you know or not, he's a close second to Sabre for most over protective mf-er on this list lol
In fact, this trait of his is most likely how you end up finding out he's a mutant
Damn it Logan. just can't keep those claws sheathed, huh?
#mwahahaah time to go back to the old days#xmen x reader#gosh this about to be is a long tagging section#idk if I should tag them by their names or their callsigns tbh#so i'll do a mix of whatever I want ig#names are boring but some of their callsigns can be confused with other media so#scott summers x reader#anna marie x reader#wolverine x reader#sabretooth x reader#mortimer toynbee x reader#ororo munroe x reader#gambit x reader#nightcrawler x reader#jean grey x reader

Paper Meadows
Peter Maximoff x reader (slight enemies to lovers)
Main Masterlist Requests
(2.2k words)
You've been at the mansion for a while now. your parents sent you away when your powers first showed up. You have Florakinesis which means you could grow and manipulate plants and flowers with just your mind. You thought your parents would be happy because your family owned a flower shop, but they considered it to be unnatural and sent you off to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.
You met so many people who were mutants like you. You enjoyed meeting new people at the mansion because everyone was special in their own ways. You became a tour guide/mentor and friendly face for when new students came in. The professor thought that your kind demeanor and your love for the school would make you perfect to help new kids navigate this new experience and home.
There was only one downside to living at the mansion. Peter Maximoff. The resident speedster of the house.
When you first moved to the mansion, he never bothered you. But soon you became friends with Jean and Jubilee and got into their friend group meeting Scott, Kurt, and eventually Peter.Â
He seemed cool at first. You noticed you like the same music, he was very funny to be around, and he was charmingly cute. After a while, though, he seemed to take pleasure in your torment.Â
It started slowly and snowballed. At first he would just speed past you, knocking your books out of your hands âaccidentlyâ. It then progressed to him teasing you all the time. Taking the last piece of food he doesn't even like just because it's your favorite at meal times. Talking to you in class when you're trying to pay attention. Stealing little things of yours until you found out and yelled at him to give it back. He always gave your stuff back once you asked for it.
He was never being particularly mean or rude. He was just very annoying and slightly inconveniencing you all the time. This didn't stop you from falling for him though, which only made everything even more annoying.
It was a beautiful day out so you were outside under a tree studying with Jean and Jubilee.
"What's happening over here?" a gust of wind said. You rolled your eyes as you lost the page you were reading.
"Attempting to study. Do you even know what that is?" you replied without looking up. Jean and Jubilee giggled at your remark.Â
"I actually do. I study pretty frequently. I have to keep good grades to stay on the X-Men so I use my superspeed to get my studying done faster," Peter bragged rapidly.
Powers were a touchy subject because you hated yours. You felt like your powers werenât useful like super-speed, telekinesis, or teleportation. There was a reason you werenât a part of the X-Men.
You noticed Jean frown as she heard this thought. She stayed quiet though, because she knew of your insecurity in your mutant powers and how you didnât like talking about it. You don't know if Peter knew about these insecurities but you hoped not because he would just use it against you. He already bragged about himself so much, you didnât need him teasing you on top of that.Â
"Well some of us can't use our powers to make our lives easier," you said before you got up and stormed off in the direction of the mansion.
You didn't mean to let that slip but it just bubbled out of you without thinking. Usually you kept your cool about that kind of stuff. Only Jean and Jubilee knew of these thoughts of yours. How could they not? They were your best friends and were always there to make you feel better when you were sad.
"Why is she mad? What did I say? She's never snapped at me like that," Peter asked the two girls, who were still sitting.
"She isn't the biggest fan of her powers," Jean supplied.
At the confused gaze of Peter, Jubilee clarified, "You can use your powers to do all kinds of stuff while she makes flowers. She doesn't think her powers are as useful as other's are. Sheâs very insecure about it."
"But I love her powers! They're so pretty," Peter replied. He had a lovesick look on his face that the girls often saw when Peter discussed you. "I'm going to go find her!"
At this, Jean jumped up, "That's not a good... and he's gone."
You made your way out back to the greenhouse. It never fails to help calm you down to be around the various plants and flowers there. There was a knock on the door and then it was pushed open.Â
"I can hear your thoughts from the kitchen, y/n," the professor offered as a greeting, with a kind smile. He was always there when you felt bad about your powers. He always reminded you of how special each person at the mansion really is.
"Sorry Professor," you supplied kind of quietly. You didn't really feel like talking but you knew with the professor around, it wouldn't take long for you to open up. (ive always imagine charles as kind of fatherly and always giving the best advice)
"Do you know why I picked you to help new students?" he asked you.
You shrugged, " 'Cause I'm nice."
"When you came to the mansion, I always noticed how sweet you were to the little kids. Very motherly, if you ask me," he told you.
You never noticed that. You just knew that you often hung out with the little kids because you knew they didn't have much family and that kids deserve someone like that.
You would read to them, help them with their homework, or give them flowers when you saw them around the mansion. It made you happy to watch them brighten up. You smiled thinking about some of the kids you help.
"I picked you because you have no problem making everyone feel special. These new kids we bring in, they feel lost and alone. You help remind them that they are never alone at this mansion and that they deserved to be loved," he smiled at you.
You started to tear up at his kind words but you wiped them away, "Thanks professor, but what does that have to do with what Iâm feeling right now?"
The professor smiled at your cluelessness, "If you think all those kids are special, then why don't you think you're special too?"
You simply stared, not knowing how to reply. He must have heard your thoughts, your gratitude, because he put his hand on your shoulder before wheeling out.Â
You felt a bit better after that so you left the greenhouse and made your way to the kitchen. As you opened up a snack, a wind blew past you and stole your food out of your hands. Standing in front of you was a smiling Peter, eating your food.
"Leave me alone Peter. I'm not in the mood," you sighed, trying to reach for your snack. He just held it over your head and smiled.
"Why did you run off on me, doll?" he asked. The nickname made you blush but the question made you even more mad because there was no way you were going to discuss your insecurities with Peter. You weren't in the mood for his teasing.Â
"Just leave me alone, Peter," you seethed, walking off towards your room.
Peter stood dumbfounded, not knowing how to get you to talk to him. He sulked all the way to the couch that all his friends were on.
"What's got you all sad?" Scott asked with a smile, thoroughly amused.
"Y/n refuses to talk to him," Jubilee teased. Peter only groaned.
"Just give her a little space today and try talking to her tomorrow," Jean offered, being able to hear Peter's inner turmoil.
"I need to do something to make her happy, get me on her good side," Peter exclaimed. He got on his knees in front of Jubilee, begging, "What's her favorite candy?"
"It's going to take a lot more than stolen candy to make her like you, Peter," Jean sighed. This wasn't the first time Peter has tried this. "You should do something creative and specific for her."
âWell what the hell do I do?â Peter asked. Heâs never tried to really impress a girl so he was pretty clueless. âSomething flower based would be romantic.â
âI hafe an idea, I can help you,â Kurt offered. So the group of friends got to work, helping Peter get in your good graces. (i have no clue how to write Kurt's accent lmaoo)
You woke up feeling better than the day before. Your insecurities about your powers weren't anything new, just some days including yesterday, felt worse than others. You just wanted to avoid Peter as much as possible today.
Jubilee found you in the hallway and you guys hung out for most of the day. Surprisingly, you didn't see Peter all day. You had mixed feelings about this. On one hand, he wasn't pissing you off. But on the other hand, you missed his contagious smile.
"Let's go watch a movie in your room, I rented a new VHS we can watch," Jubilee said. You were suspicious of her because she wasn't really the type to watch a lot of movies, but you thought nothing of it. Once you guys made it to your room, she stopped, "It's in my room I'll go get it, just make sure to set up your tv."
Once you opened the door to your room, a certain speedster was standing there.
"What are you doing here?" you questioned. You had a feeling that Jubilee wasn't going to be coming back and that there was no new VHS.
"Well I had help from our friends. Jean let me in while Jubilee distracted you so I could set up," he blushed.
"Set up what?" you asked him suspiciously. You were quite alarmed to have him in your room.
"Well, after I hurt your feelings, I wanted to make it up to you. It was Kurtâs idea to do this because Iâm not creative at all. Iâve never tried to impress a pretty girl before. Did you know that Kurt is really good at origami? Also it turns out that I'm not good at it, at all. I spent all night trying to make them perfect," Peter rambled on.
"Peter," you cut him off, blushing when he called you pretty. "What are you talking about?"
He couldn't seem to speak so he simply moved out of the way and pointed to your bed.
On top of your dark green bed set, was an array of cute origami flowers. They ranged in size, color, and type. Some were more messy looking than others, but you could tell all of them were still made very carefully. There were even a couple of folded butterflies added to the mix. Your bed looked like a beautiful meadow. You could feel yourself starting to tear up at the kind gesture.
"You spent all night making these?" you questioned. You got closer so that you could look at all of them. There had to be at least 40 pieces.
âYeah, I have the papercuts to prove it as well as a trash can filled with the ones that looked the worst,â he tried to joke. You could tell he was nervous of your reaction. âThe girls explained that I made you feel bad about your powers so I wanted to show you how beautiful I actually think it is.â
âYou think my powers are beautiful?â you questioned with a teary- eyed smile, looking back at him.
At this he stepped closer to you, nervously brushing a tear away, âAlmost as beautiful as I think you are.â
Your face heated up so hot, you were sure Peter could feel it. You didnât know how to thank him so you simply leaned close to his face. You heard Peterâs breath hitch so you leaned all the way in.
This was probably the best kiss youâve ever had. It had fireworks bursting in you, butterflies scurrying around, but most importantly, it had flowers blooming all over the both of you and your room.
When you separated from the kiss, you guys just stared at each other smiling. âThank you, Peterâ
âAnything for you, ma fleur,â you blushed at the nickname, but giggled at his poorly done French accent. He smiled so bright at hearing you laugh, proud of himself.
You looked at your room, only just now noticing the mess of flowers and vines that you created, âOh wow, I didnât realize I did that.â
âIâm glad to have that effect on you,â Peter exclaimed, quite smug. You just laughed and punched his shoulder sofly.Â
âYou know, Speedy, you owe me so much for all the times you pissed me off to get my attention,â you smirked at him.
He just smiled with a lovestruck face and replied, âI canât wait to make it up to you, forever.â

Peter Maximoff x Reader Masterlist
âââââââââ
You didnât know what you felt anymore. In a way it was like being outside of yourself. Just watching from somewhere far away even as you were pouring every ounce of strength you had left into your hands, blasting Apocalypseâs shield over and over.
You were trying to cause even the slightest, tangible bit of damage to him, just as Magneto was, just as Scott was. And yet, even with the three of you giving all you had, the monster had already gathered himself up again. With just the movement of one hand, heâd thrown Hank violently to the side when Beast had gotten too close while trying to help you all.
And only moments after Hankâs unconscious body had come to rest, Scott had faltered as well. In exhaustion, heâd finally had to close his eyes, pulling his glasses back down as heâd staggered backward. Then with another flick of the wrist, Apocalypse had all too easily slammed the boy into a building, the wall he hit then swelling out to cover and encase him like some living horror.
You could still hear Scott screaming even as you realized Apocalypse had now turned his attention towards you. With his every step closer, that numbness grew within you. You were too weak to fly away now, after all the energy youâd thrown at him, you were barely still standing.
But you could see the irritation in his expression. It was obvious that he couldnât understand your loyalty to one another. Why any of you would be fighting this hard, just to die.
He kept reusing the same tricks, but they were effective. As the earth shot up around you like tendrils on a vine, you couldnât break free. As quick and flexible as it was, it only felt like concrete wrapping all around you. It pinned your arms to your sides and wrapped around your legs, chest, and throat.
With a clenching of Apocalypseâs fist, it all drew tighter. And when your energy field finally gave out, the last of your shielding went away with it. As that light faded, the pain of being slowly crushed exploded through you. But you couldnât scream when you couldnât even breathe.
Apocalypse would have Xavier. That was all he wanted, then outright ignoring the straining of Magneto in the sky above him, Erik desperately trying to still do anything on his own now.
But as your sight blurred and your senses faded, it was the most surreal thing, you could still recognize Jeanâs silhouette as she also moved out into midair.
Yet it wasnât her, at least not as you knew her. Somehow that thought had still floated through your dying mind, before the world exploded all over again.
Even without being powered up, you could feel that surge. Like a pressure wave of pure, raw force. It seared across everything, hot and burning. But like a warm fire, for those far enough from the center, it only revitalized them. Hank was awakened suddenly, soon enough breaking the pieces that held you and giving you a chance to breathe again before he ran on all fours to also free Scott.
And yet for Apocalypse, someone far too close to that center, and the real target of Jeanâs fury, the only option was to burn.
You were on your knees as you still tried to catch your breath, but you all knew opportunity when you saw it. Sheâd broken through his shield, torn through his armor. But even as his flesh seared away, it was still trying to heal back just as quickly.
Magneto had impaled him to the spot with multiple steel bars as soon as his shield had fallen, but Apocalypse was a coward. As soon as that tide had started to turn, he tried to flee.
Hank called out, âHeâs getting away!â As Apocalypse tried to teleport, an energy shield rebuilding to close around him.
Even digging as deep as you possibly could, you only had enough left to make a large orb from one palm. That white light encasing just one of your hands rather than your whole body as you realized you had to make this last shot count.
And just as you thought you were not going to have another opening to get past his shield, lightning began striking down right on top of him. A hole broke in his field with the force, the white haired girl from before surprising you all with a sudden change of allegiance.
You threw your orb at once then, controlling it to come right through the opening she had made. It exploded directly against Apocalypseâs head and neck, further blasting away muscle and bone that no longer had time to heal under all the combined attacks.
But it was still Jean who dealt the killing blow. With one final powerful surge of her energy, screaming, she erased the last of him. His body broke into only ash under her red aura. It spread into the sky all around her, like wings of flame before extinguishing at last.
You were still waiting for some final confirmation that it was really over though, that youâd won. After a few moments of only the sound of the receding wind, and the sand lightly blowing past with it, it was like a collective acceptance at last.
You fell back with a large exhale, exhausted as you laid onto your back in the dirt. In the sky, you could see Magneto and Jean hover back to where Xavier was, no doubt to check on him now. You could only imagine if Magneto would soon be apologizing to his old friend, or not, for his part in all this.
But you didnât rest in your silence for long. As you heard footsteps, you turned your head enough to see Hankâs clawed feet approaching. But he wasnât alone. He had Raven on one side and Peter on the other, Peter more so the one he was propping up with that broken leg.
âRaven wants to go see Charles,â Hank said by way of some explanation, awkwardly helping Peter sit back down beside you as the other winced in pain. âI need you two to stay here while we see if thereâs any medical supplies intact nearby, and while we try to figure out how on earth weâre going to get home now.â
While Hank spoke, you thought Raven might have still been giving you a kind of odd look. As if she was trying to make sense of something. You could assume what, after the abrupt display between you and Peter before. But you were just too tired to feel anything other than relief right now that everyone was still here at all.
âOkay,â You said, maybe just to check that you could talk, as much as your throat still hurt from being squeezed earlier. But the two older mutants were then gone just as quickly. Hank had picked up Raven, jumping over to the exposed second floor of the building where the Professor and the others were.
Peter was unnaturally quiet afterward. At least for a while before he finally looked down at you. âSo holy shit, right?â
You glanced up. That phrase really could reference about anything that had happened today. You smirked tiredly. âCould you be a little more specific please?â
âI mean, your friend just vaporized that dude.â Peter answered, waving one hand. He couldnât stop from being animated even if he tried it seemed, even when injured. âDid you know she could do that? Like damn, we could have been done an hour ago.â
You tried not to laugh. Itâd hurt your ribs too much if you did. âNo. Iâd say she didnât even know she could do that.â
âWell, I know who not to piss off,â He said, before going quiet for a bit again.
You still hadnât been around him all that long in actual length of hours. But for all youâd now been through since first meeting at the mansion, it seemed like this morning was lifetimes ago. And you could sense that his mind was churning with something else he actually wanted to say.
You looked up to him again after a while. âYou okay?â You asked. Which probably was still a bit ironic for you to question, as even though he had the broken leg, you were also the one laying in the dirt, too tired and hurting to properly sit up.
It still took him some time to respond though. Which told you he actually was trying to weigh his words somewhat before speaking. But when they did finally start to come out, he was still pausing and hesitating. âIâm, um, first of all, sorry about the whole surprise kiss there. I figured youâd just slap the crap out of me or something. But I thought we were going to die too, and I...I just-â
He was looking at the ground now, like there would be some answer there that would help him verbalize what he was trying to say. âI know I screw up a lot and let things go that I shouldnât let go I guess. I already flaked out with the whole reason I came up to your house this morning, the whole Magneto thing. And I didnât want to do that twice, not telling someone the truth again all in one day just because I was being chicken shit. Youâre just really cool, and you know...I just wanted you to know that.â He looked back at you at last, as if trying to judge if any of this was making sense at all.
It did and it didnât of course. You didnât understand at all what he meant about why he came up to the house in the first place, or anything about Magneto. But you didnât want to question on that when he was already making himself vulnerable with the main point you thought he was trying to make to you at least.
âPeter, I kissed you back remember? I mean yes, there was a lot of stress involved. But it doesnât make it a mistake.â Now you were the one perhaps putting too much optimism in your thoughts here, and taking a risk. âMaybe it just made it happen a lot sooner than it naturally would have. But it doesnât mean I didnât want that, you know, eventually.â
Again, youâd only known each other for a day in real terms. Of course it was too much. But everybody had to start somewhere, right? You had no idea what a serious relationship could be like though, youâd never had one. Just awkward first dates that never became second dates because it was always just weird. You didnât feel anything that way for those people and it was always evident so quickly.
And yet here came this guy, dropped into your life like a bomb in a time of utter chaos and danger, and you thought you were now finally understanding why your friends seemed to go so crazy when they told you about their âcrushesâ at school. It was just something that clicked. You couldnât put rational thought to emotions like this.
âSo you wanted to kiss me?â Peter finally asked in a way that was somewhat silly to you, because of course you wouldnât have done anything like that if you didnât actually want to. And yet you couldnât make any dry reply to that effect when you saw the honest expression on his face as heâd asked.
Was it really so hard for him to believe that he would be wanted? You were surprised, genuinely. Of course he was quirky and odd, well maybe a great deal odd. But for all the flashy appearance and smugness you knew he could radiate, did he not actually see his own worth?
You touched his hand lightly, as you sat up at last. It hurt, but he needed to see your eyes to believe you now. You knew this was important. âYouâve had me flustered since you first introduced yourself this morning. Iâm not used to that, at all, so itâs really new. I donât really know how itâs all supposed to work, or what Iâm supposed to do next. But I can at least speak to how I feel. I want to be around you more, I want to be close.â
The physical and the emotional went hand in hand really. But, youâd both have to figure out your own comfort level on that. You continued, trying to put that into words. He didnât owe anything to you. âYou need to remember it depends what you want too though. I can like you with or without kissing again. If you just want a friend, thatâs okay too.â
He chuckled, seeming kind of taken aback. âHell...â He looked away a moment, running his hand through his hair. It was obviously a nervous gesture, as it only made it look messier. âIâd really be a pathetic boyfriend you know. Like, epically bad.â
âYou think so?â You asked, trying not to press too hard, but also not wanting him to keep seeming like he didnât deserve any of this kind of attention.
âIâll annoy you eventually, youâll regret it.â He kept on, a little bit quieter then.
âHow do you know Iâm not annoying?â You countered. Of course you hoped you werenât, you seemed to get along well with the other students, and they ran the gamut of so many kinds of personalities. But really, how was it fair for him to assume any fault would only be his?
âPfft.â He looked back to you. âYou literally glow. Itâs not even metaphorical. Youâre like perfect, and-â
Did Apocalypse ding him in the head too? You were having none of that. âIâm nothing of the sort. And neither are you.â But you smiled before he could take that negatively. âAnd Iâm totally good with that.â
He quieted again, just watching you for an awkward while, before finally responding. âI guess we can try. I mean as long as youâre admitting now that your taste in guys is really this bad and you wonât get mad at me later for saying I told you so.â
It didnât seem proper to laugh, but he made you want to. âIâll overlook you insulting the both of us. But yes, if you want to try, then so do I.â
âOkay.â He answered. Then seemed to realize the depth of this a little more. âShit...didnât expect to get mutant-napped by the government, fight a god, break my leg, and become a boyfriend all in the same day.â
âAnd rescue a whole mutant school,â You added.
He shrugged purposefully for effect. âThatâs what heroes do, babe.â
The pivot from so self conscious that he could barely accept your attraction to him, to now wanting to brag again really was something to behold. You started to quip something back, but stopped when you saw his face go serious. He was now looking at something abruptly in the distance, so you turned your head to follow his gaze.
It was Magneto.
You straightened up as well, now fully sitting up before Erik landed in front of you both.
He was direct, speaking immediately. âIt will still be some time before Charlesâ little CIA friend can get her cohorts to arrange your transport out of here.â
You didnât know if the distaste in his tone was more about Moira being a government agent, or just dislike to her presence here entirely, but he only continued. âAnd given that Hank has no idea how to field dress wounds without access to his full laboratory, I get that responsibility.â
Peter shifted, abruptly realizing the meaning then. âIâm fine,â He lied.
Of course he absolutely wasnât fine. But clearly distrusting about whatever Magneto now had planned and the inevitable pain it could mean for him. Peter hadnât moved his leg at all in the entire time youâd been sitting here together.
Erik only answered him sharply, âYou need a splint before you do even more damage to yourself.â
As he then raised his hands, metal rebar started to drag itself out from the broken buildings all around you, leaving no question that this was no longer a choice for Peter.
It was hard not to think that just a short time ago, Magneto had been using that same kind of power to impale Apocalypse over and over again. And yet now he showed how controlled he could be, breaking the thin rebar into lengths that could run all the way from Peterâs thigh to just above his ankle, and even bending them slightly to match the natural curvature of the knee.
âLift his leg.â Erik spoke.
Youâd been so distracted with watching him work the metal, that it took you a moment to realize the command was for you. You looked briefly to him, then to Peter. You and Peter both shared the same nervous expression.
If you just used your hands, you felt like you would only hurt him, not being able to support his whole leg in a way that wouldnât put more pressure on the break. But you also didnât know if youâd rested long enough sitting here to use your powers at all either.
Someone as intimidating as Magneto standing over you both impatiently certainly didnât help.
But if it meant less discomfort for Peter, youâd at least try. You lifted both your hands, facing your palms towards Peterâs leg while focusing as best you could. Normally what would have been fairly simple now took a good deal of effort in your still drained state. But a faint white glow did start to move across his leg, eventually covering it from his hip all the way to the end of his foot.
Once enveloped, you raised just your fingertips, lifting his entire leg gently, just high enough that Magneto could place the metal bracing around it.
You heard Peter make a small sound of pain as Erik had circled other metal strips around the longer ones that ran parallel with his leg, snugging it all into place. But beyond that, the unconventional first aid seemed to be successful. His leg was effectively now immobilized as you let it back down softly, the light fading away as you let go.
âI look like a Mad Max reject,â Peter commented absently, breaking the silence after a moment as he poked at the new metal contraption.
âYouâll be running and finding trouble again soon enough Iâm sure. We still heal faster than the lesser species.â Magneto responded, but not all that surprising to you really that he would still find ways to throw jabs at non mutants even in an unrelated conversation.
What did surprise you was that when Erik had started to turn to no doubt leave again now that his task was done, it was Peter that stopped him.
âHey, wait a second.â
You didnât think you were imagining a new anxious sound in Peterâs voice either, and it bloomed all new nerves in you as well. What was it between the two of them? There had been confusing hints of something ever since youâd gotten to Egypt, but Peter had never elaborated to you. Not that heâd really had much chance either though.
But just because of who Magneto was, it was easy to imagine things taking a dangerous turn if the wrong thing was said or done, but you had no idea how to help when you didnât even know what had Peter so focused on him.
You felt him touch your hand, like a physical desire for support, as he asked Erik in the most serious voice youâd ever heard from him. âDo you remember a woman named Magda Eisenhardt?â
Magneto went rigid, and you froze as well. Very suddenly you were wondering if the others could still see you from here. If they were paying you any mind at all right now. But the only person here fast enough to actually get away from Erik, was here beside you with one wing clipped essentially. Thereâd be no escape.
âHow do you know that name?â Heâd turned fully back to face you both, eyes locked on Peter.
By the way Peter had seemed to pause his breathing, he wasnât immune to the sense of threat either, but he still answered. âWell she goes by Maximoff now. Sheâs my mother.â
You felt like a helpless bystander watching some kind of disaster unfolding in slow motion. The frightening look in Magnetoâs eyes versus the way Peter was now almost squeezing your hand painfully. The mental gymnastics your mind was now going through were chaotic. Did Magneto do something to Peterâs mother? Were they enemies? Was this some vengeance quest?
But if any of that were true, why on earth would Peter confront him now? With both of you already injured with not a chance to survive or defend against someone of Magnetoâs power?
Whatever frightful things were burning through Erikâs mind as well still silenced him long enough for Peter to speak again though. And it all came out then.
âI was too afraid to tell you earlier, but I guess Iâm just ripping the damn band aid off everything now. She told me about you. How she left because she was afraid of you too. But she didnât tell you about being pregnant. She went to the states, changed her last name and had me. Me and my sister Wanda. Twins. But I didnât know any of that about you when I busted you out of the Pentagon those years back. I didnât know who you really were. That you were the guy I thought had just run off, or maybe you were dead. I didnât know my father was in a damned plastic cell less than ten fucking miles away all those years when we had nothing!â
A chill went through you. The anger in Peterâs voice towards the end only added to the shock as you were forced to process everything at once. This was why. God. Just...shit.
You were all silent after that. For an unbearable amount of time there was silence.
When Erik finally did speak, you heard the anger in him too, but it was different. There was a raw pain in that, something so extremely deep coming out of him now. His fist was clenching. âShe was right, boy. If itâs all true, then Magda was goddamn right to do everything in her power to hide you from me and to try to put an ocean between us back then.â
With a little horror, you could see the smallest fragments of metallic debris starting to quiver along the ground. His emotion carrying over into the environment now.
âI did remarry after I escaped Washington and went back to Europe. We even had a little girl. Anya.â There was the slightest sheen of wetness in his eyes, even though sheer anger was the only look still coming from them. âThey killed them. My wife. My daughter. The humans killed them because of who I was!â
He gritted his teeth, and you could plainly see a couple tears escape his eyes then before disappearing back behind the sides of his helmet.
âThey would have done the same to you and your sister eventually. To Magda too. She knew sheâd be caught in the crossfire even when I didnât. She knew what I really was.â
âIt doesnât make it right!â Peterâs voice surprised you as it broke, uneven and just as emotional as he yelled back at Erik. But he looked down again afterward, his hand trembling against yours. âIâm sorry what they did, that was our little sister too then. But you canât just lie to someone their whole life. My mom shouldnât have waited so long to tell me! I could have helped you...maybe it could have been different. Maybe we-â
âIt would have been the same result.â Erik said coldly. âBecause I would have been the same.â
With that he flew off abruptly, completely out of sight before Peter cursed under his breath, looking defeated. âGoddamnit. He really is an asshole...â
You opened your mouth to respond, maybe to try and comfort him, but then hesitated. There was so much to digest on both sides here. âI think he might just need time to cool off...â You finally said, as delicately as you could.
âCorrect.â The Professorâs voice popped into both your heads then, leading you both to glance towards the broken building where the others had been, to now see they were all standing on the edge looking towards you.
âApologies for eavesdropping,â Xavier continued. âBut you were getting quite loud, both verbally and mentally, and I wanted to make sure you were safe as I had instructed the others not to interfere.â
Peter sighed, maybe a bit embarrassed at the audience, but also still clearly unused to having anyone in his head as he replied aloud. âThatâs so damn weird. Guess youâre good now then?â
âGetting there, thanks to all of you.â Xavier answered with a slight amount of humor, âBut helmet or no helmet, I donât need to read Erik to tell you that heâll be back. His anger is only towards himself, not to you. You did the right thing by letting him know the truth. Heâll come around.â
There was another odd feeling of amusement from the Professor after a moment though. âIn fact, knowing how possessive Erik can be, I dare say you may get more than you bargained for, Peter, in parental attention. Good luck to you too, (Y/N). Though Iâd think heâll approve of you once he realizes how much you genuinely care about his son.â
You stared, knowing Xavier couldnât see your âare you for real/horrifiedâ expression from this distance but that heâd definitely feel it.
You saw Raven make an exaggerated gesture of a thumbs up from way over there and Peter laughed tiredly. âWeâre totally screwed arenât we?â You sighed and he just leaned into you, teasing. âSee? Too early to say it yet? Nope, itâs not. Told ya so. Told ya so. Terrible choice of a boyfriend, babe!â
You put your head on your knees as he rubbed one of your shoulders. You mumbled numbly. âI just want to sleep for sixteen hours.â
âââââââââ

Alright, now let's actually talk about X-Men 97 episode 9 *SPOILERS ALSO SOME RANTING INCOMING*
The results of Magneto's worldwide blackout
Uh, I think Magneto's omega level moment to stop the Prime Sentinels and the Spider-Man cameo got me distracted on what his EMP also did to the world, which is not good.
Yeah, so thousands have died because of this, mutants are being hunted down more than ever, and the world's gonna end in less than 12 hours. So....Magneto made things worse for everybody, mutants and humans.....god dammit.
So, because of this Magneto is also something to deal with as well as Bastion (even though this was all Bastion's fault and the mastermind behind everything, including the massacre, but okay đ). This means he's back to being an enemy, which I don't like. He was doing good as a protagonist, and just for him to revert back to being an antagonist again?! I mean, I get why, I just don't like it. Even when, again, BASTION IS RIGHT THERE!!! *sigh* I guess with the time limit, they gotta deal with both of them and fix Earth.
Asteroid M again? Didn't Magneto try this before back in the previous show, and it backfired? In fact, he only recruited two others, which I'll get to later. Why isn't he saving more of his kind and bring them to Asteroid M? Maybe he just started and went to the X-Men first before going to find and rescue other mutants Yeah, as you can tell, I'm liking where this is going for Magneto.
Storm and Forge
THANK GOD SHE'S BACK! AND SHE'S BACK IN THE INTRO WITH HER BLACK OUTFIT TOO, I MISSED HER SO MUCH! đ
Jubilee and Jean hugging her at different times was so nice. And, Beast and Forge greeting each other was nice too. Gotta cling to the good moments cause things get bad....REAL BAD.
More of Storm and Jean's sisterhood which was sweet. But, did they let her know about Nate being Cable and that it was Madelyn, a clone, that she interacted with during that timeskip before she left? Cause I feel like Storm needs to know about that.
As bummed out as I was that the two wouldn't confront either Sinister or Bastion, I do understand why. Storm's powers are great for taking out multiple targets, and we do need more moments with the two.
I don't believe their dead. It'll be total bullcrap for the two to reunite with the others as well as them caring for each other, just for them to die like that. So, yeah, they'll be fine.....they freaking better.
Still wish Forge contacted the rest of X-Factor to have a big team up and get some extra help.
More classic outfits
I do like some of them, like Storm's, Rogue's, Cyclop's (although, I'll miss seeing his hair), and Wolverine's brown and yellow.
However, I'm not a fan of Jean's Marvel Girl outfit. I like her 90s outfit that she had before better.
Also, Morph's outfit is just the yellow and blue but with big shoulder pads....why?
So, Roberto's a member of the X-Men now? So, he got an outfit too, but I wish we could've seen the buildup for him being a member. Last time I checked, he wasn't interested in being a member, but still hung out with Jubilee and became his boyfriend. The outfit's not bad, but it doesn't feel like it's been earned.
Xavier
*sigh* I'm probably the only one here that feels bad for the professor. But, I also feel like it could've been handled better. Have Xavier actually stay in contact with them while away. Have him still be recovering but still too sick to go back home. Hell, have him be in a coma! Many things in this show could've been done to give Xavier more of a reason why he wasn't there during that year time-skip instead of the black hole excuse.
Now, things are tense between him and Scott because he picked Magneto to lead the team. Okay, Magneto was doing fine, he was just more strict is all. Plus, I thought we were done with the distrust of Magneto after episode two.
Even Rogue is mad at him, which I get why. And, Magneto won't listen to him, which again, I also get why. I just where all this conflict is gonna lead to in the finale.
Rogue and Sunspot
So, those two chose Magneto, and not gonna lie, I got upset with that. When she was talking about leading the mutants at Genosha, I thought she rejected the offer back in episode 5, so I didn't understand what she meant by that. I get that she doesn't want to see more mutants die, but they're dying anyway and more are gonna die. I get that she's pissed at what happened, and she still has that anger and grief over what happened to Gambit, but when all this is done, where is she gonna go? Back to the X-Men? That is if there's still a team left.
Roberto.....okay, I get why he sided with Magneto, and I'm trying to like this version of Sunspot. But, I'm sorry, but I couldn't. Not after hurting Jubilee like that. Her being there for him wasn't enough after everything that happened wasn't enough. Plus, he has no idea what he's getting himself into. He's new to all this, he has no idea what Magneto has done or what he's capable of. So I was okay with Jubilee fighting back.
Rogue's choice made Nightcrawler sad....I hate seeing that precious blue elf devil man being sad. Thank god, we didn't have those two fight, otherwise, I'd be more upset. But, it was sad seeing her fight Wolverine cause the two are friends.
Also, she was wearing Gambit's coat....why does this show keep hurting so much?
Gold Team vs. Bastion and Sinister
So, Bastion really did love his mother. At least they kept that part of his backstory in this. I don't think she's dead, cause the Prime Sentinels should be alive, just not working. But, what happened to his father? Did his dad die? I've been noticing a lack of dads in the show aside from Scott.
Hulk cameo.
The fight scenes were really good. Especially Sinister vs. Jean. She was so bad@$$ in that fight. Although, I thought Morph was gonna confront Sinister too due to what he did to Morph. But, this is the Summers' family moment.
When did Sinister get control over Cable?! Well, apparently he did, and now he's forced to fight his kinda sorta other mom? At least we got to see his mutant power again.
Is Jean gonna die? Again? Cause, she and Scott are back in good terms in their relationship.
Well, the plan kinda backfired, but there's still a chance to turn it around in the finale.
Blue Team vs. Magneto
Okay, I know that Xavier tried to talk to him, but words ain't gonna reach Magneto anymore. Although, I did laugh when Magneto told him to shut up.
Cyclops disobeying Xavier's orders. Is that the first time that ever happened? Cause damn.
Not gonna lie, I thought Wolverine succeeded in killing Magneto. But, he probably should've kept stabbing and slashing or go for a more vital area. Maybe then Wolverine wouldn't have gotten....that at the end.
Yeah, the end....how freaking dare you do this to Logan! His adamantine ripped out of his body! He still has his skeleton, but to do that to him?! Just....WHY?!?!?!
I know this happened in Fatal Attractions in the comics, but it doesn't mean I wanted it to happen to him in the show! I feel so bad for Logan.
Also, WHY DID YOU BRING THE GUY WITH METAL IN HIS BODY TO FIGHT A GUY WHO CAN MANIPULATE METAL?!?!?! Did it ever come across their minds that this would've been a bad idea? I know that the writers want this comic moment to happen, but come on! Logan should've been with the gold team!
I think that's all I got at the moment. I made a post of potential outcomes for the finale from the comics at the result of what happened to Logan. And, I'm dreading what might come to fruition. As for the stuff with Bastion and Sinister, they gotta turn things around for that one. But, I'm worried that the finale will lead to a dark end instead of a hopeful one. The finale will have to make it or break it for me, cause I love X-Men and all this conflict and stuff is just hurting so much. I still like the show, and it's way WAY better than the What If series in the MCU. But, we'll have to see what happens next week.
