If you and Ken got to the point of being engaged then married (in whatever way things are done in Gaslight District) then you’re basically locked in forever.

Dates consist of him making a special dinner for two, having the privacy in one of the back rooms. Either that or out in the open, he still has the shop to look over afterall. He’ll request some slow, romantic songs from Breadhead on the piano , having him play in the background.

Mud constantly teases you both until Ken knocks his head off. This got more common once you got married.

You end up getting pretty close with him, you look out for each other on missions just as much as with everyone else. Occasionally he’ll try to sneak some coins out if you’re handling the register, which you’ll promptly smack his hand away from. Ken is so proud.

Instead of JUST being Ken’s spouse, you’re glad to see his kids start to treat you like a parent. It’s so great, actually, to see that you truly belong. What really seals it in? You start going on family missions. They’re a mafia family, they don’t just let anyone join them. You’d have to be a very special spot to be there—which, you are.

As much as Ken is paranoid that something could happen to you, you’ve proven several times you can take care of yourself. Considering where you are, knowing how to protect yourself is kinda the main point! He loves seeing you in action despite the worry.

Plus it’s absolutely a thing for him to see you thrive. As much as you can, at least. Acting like the butcher shop is your home or at least second home, always standing near him so everyone knows you’re together, being absolutely merciless to whoever crosses the gang, yup, that’s his spouse. He’s not one to flaunt but oh does he want to. You do things to him <3

A little background on who people with borderline personality disorder are and where do they come from. (Of course, each case is unique. I'm talking about the average manifestation of the disorder here.)

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is a type of personality disorder in which a person is unstable, hypersensitive, highly anxious, and has no sense of self (no feeling of identity). One in ten patients end up committing suicide.

In fact, borderliners are people with no emotional skin. What for a stable person is a small domestic nuisance - for a borderliner is boundless terror, fear, a complete sense of helplessness and overwhelming self-loathing. Are you sick? It's your fault, you're worthless. You forgot your pass and had to buy an underground ticket? You're disgusting, step under a train right now. You forgot the food in the fridge and it spoilt? Don't you dare eat for another three days, punish yourself, cut yourself because you're nothing. That's not an exaggeration, it's true. And then you see an advert with a doggy and you laugh until you cry and all is fine.

It's like that dozens of times in one day.

Why do borderliners work this way? Heredity plays a role (which in Ness's case can be seen, for example, by the fact that he reacted acutely to some things even as a child), but to a greater extent, of course, the family, because when BPD is treated in the early stages, it is more easily reduced to remission (but does not disappear completely - it is like the core of the personality). Speaking of family types, typically borderliners come out of families with a narcissistic parent or the same borderline. Why exactly is that the case?

Because life with a narcissist/borderliner parent is an endless battlefield in which the child is forced to survive. Any emotion you have, if it doesn't fall under the parent's incomprehensible ideas, is repulsive. Any request you make and attempt to speak your mind is a violation of all laws and the worst offence. Today you're the golden child, tomorrow you're trash. Today your mom says she loves you, and tomorrow she blames you for divorcing your dad. Today dad likes the tea you made him, tomorrow he'll throw it in your face. It's a constant violation of personal space, an inability to have privacy, an impossibility to defend your interests - and yet a staggering neglect, a removal of the child from your life. Parents in such families usually divide their children into "golden" and "outcast" children, emphasising in every possible way how terrible the lousy sheep of the family (the outcast child) is, and encouraging bullying by their siblings.

Sounds similar to Ness's story, doesn't it?

In such families, the child by the age of 6 or 7 already knows that he is disgusting, horrible, and must do anything to avoid being abandoned - because the parents emphasise in every possible way that he is horrible, but they (for now) keep him out of mercy. A child learns by the slightest movement of the eyebrows and corner of the mouth to know when mom loves you and when she hates you, when dad is good and when he's bad.

The childhood of such children is a battlefield, and they come out of it emotionally disabled. For example, a very common consequence of living in such a family, in addition to BPD, is PTSD. Yeah, like war veterans.

(and by the way, borderliners VERY often end up paired with… Narcissists. Because it's a familiar love-hate game. And on top of that, also a beautiful (non-existent) personality to take a bite out of for your non-existent self))

Autism headcanon: Beth March (Little Women)

*The narrator states that Beth "lived in a happy world of her own, only venturing out to meet the few whom she loved and trusted." She has only a few friends outside of her family and none her own age, and even within her family, the only person she fully confides in is her sister Jo. But her rich inner life, which is filled with imaginary friends, pets that she treats like people, and dolls that she treats like children, keeps her from being lonely.

*She has extreme social anxiety. It's not just shyness; she's afraid of strangers, afraid of being stared at, startled when people speak too loudly, and anxious whenever she's the center of attention, even among her own family. The narrator calls it "her infirmity," and it seems likely (IMHO) that if she had lived today, she would go to therapy for it, and/or take medication. That's how intense it is.

*She's been homeschooled for most of her life. She briefly went to regular school, but her social anxiety made it unbearable.

*She has just a handful of very fixed interests: dolls, sewing, cats, and above all, music.

*Her passion for music is a particular fixation. She loves to learn new songs for the piano and composes her own songs as well. Music helps to come out of her shell and connect with others, most notably when it helps her befriend Mr. Laurence. Music also calms and soothes her, more than it does anyone else in the family: after they get the news of Mr. March's illness and try to sing their nightly song at the piano, the others all break down crying, but Beth goes on singing because the music comforts her.

Now, most readers don't look at these qualities and assume Beth could be autistic. Too many of them think she's just "ethereal," "frail," "unable to grow up," and "unsuited to this world." But I wish they would stop defining her by her early death (which could have happened to anyone who caught scarlet fever in the days before antibiotics) and remember that she's based on a real person, Elizabeth Sewall Alcott. Is it so far-fetched to assume that Louisa May Alcott wasn't trying to portray Beth as an ethereal doomed girl, but just wrote an accurate (if slightly idealized) portrayal of her own neurodivergent sister?

The Synastry Between Min Heejin x NewJeans (Controversial) ⚠️

Someone asked me to analyze the Min Heejin situation w/ NewJeans and I've been out of the kpop loop for a bit but I was looking into it and my mind's already going..

All of this is biased btw. But some of it is also 1-1 astro logic mixed in. This is Min Heejin's chart. And this is NJ's group chart.

What's immediately evident is that Heejin's moon potentially opposes NJ's moon-mars-uranus configuration in their first. There's a clear and deeply ingrained power dynamic there. Objectively speaking, a pair with this synastry is going to be very emotionally influenced by each other. And her Virgo-mars influenced Scorpio moon makes her much shrewder and calculated than the average person. And her mars-jupiter only exacerbates that.

The woman's incredibly intelligent. With all of her mutable energy and that Virgo/Scorpio, she loves being able to take something a part and put it together. She sees people and their potential as moving parts she can analyze and qualify their value. This is a person who's naturally very drawn to the psychology of things. Because this is informed by an early degree (8 of wands coded) Sag mercury which squares those Virgo points, she's incredibly sure of herself to the point of not minding confrontation and most likely gets a rise out of opposition.

But on the surface with that Sun-Neptune in Sag she has, she's going to fly under the radar..deliberately.. and play the role of a demure but shrewd woman who the men in a corporate world don't see as a threat on the surface. As for NJ, I'm already biased and I'm gonna say that imo, as young girls, them being a Cancer with a Cancer Mercury w/ 'made to grow up before I was ready' 1H stressed lunar issues while the woman has a Scorpio moon in their 7th house of relationships..is just explaining, imo, why they're fiercely protecting her. They potentially see her as a sisterly/motherly figure/mentor who believed in them that they want to see the good in. The reality is that we don't 100% know how that dynamic went. They may have benefited from her guidance but if we're doing a 1-1 astrology read, a lunar dynamic like that where the girls' group chart already has internal emotional issues is going to be susceptible to finding refuge in women who 'seemingly know better' but who may have ulterior motives.

If there wasn't anything dangerous going on, I'd still be wary about it. I'd be like..is it safe..objectively for this person to have THAT much emotional control of a group like that? Because when I saw their Sun-Venus opposition in synastry, it made me wonder if NJ ever thought they could live up to her expectations about artistry and aesthetics. All of that, imo, has to do with how she sees herself. She has a Venus-Saturn trine paired with a Venus-Pluto square, which says that she never feels as if her expectations are met with what she loves, and it translates to how her Venus-Pluto square with NJ plays out in synastry. Aries is the child and they were essentially made to sacrifice their childhoods. Their Leo mercury squaring their 1H taurus points spells that out because it says that they don't feel listened to or heard. They're seen and very visible but they may feel like chess pieces on a board. My guess, imo, is that Heejin made them feel as if..if they followed her rule book that they would gain some kind of autonomy or feel empowered. But since it forms harsh aspects to ber Venus-Pluto square, you're getting a dysfunctional relationship where the power dynamic is unhealthy and unstable. There's this feeling of never feeling good enough for her..which creates a toxic cycle of 'proving' themselves..that she benefits from emotionally. And it just sets them up to become reliant on that dynamic from others in the long run. Bc while their Venus trines in their chart suggest their likability, it comes at a cost where their Venus-Jupiter square will never feel like it's enough and they'll over extend themselves to ensure the person 'stays.'

brian: there's a post out there somewhere that talks about brian listening to imagine dragons and that is SO real to me. he listens to imagine dragons. he listens to "tough" guy music that sounds like it could be in car commercials. he also listens to dudes rock music he hears at the gym. brian and taylor both like to match their music to their workouts and they have an immensely geeky conversation about matching bpm at one point. taylor matches it to her running brian matches it to boxing they are in nerd-jock heaven

lisa: she's a tricky one, because the music industry is one that both values authenticity and yet is extremely manufactured. i think that means that lisa finds music in which rich musicians make music about how hard their life is immensely grating. i think sarah livsey's taste was influenced by her brother, and much like how taylor does not listen to music that reminds her of her mom, lisa does not listen to music that sarah used to like. another smugbug yuri of absence moment if you ask me. anyway all that means that lisa listens to three kinds of music: downtempo instrumental electronic, classical, and We Are Up Partying In The Club Tonight Ooh Girl Oh Yeah. i think she finds, e.g., pitbull and eurotrance endearing. if you ask lisa what her favorite kind of music is she'll say something obnoxious like IDM or some shit just to see what the reaction is

rachel: i looked up "do dogs listen to music" and google says they will listen to classical sometimes, so! there you go. if worm took place a little later i think taylor could have introduced limited doses of lofi hip hop study beats to rachel and she would be ok with that too but also like. why listen to music when she could be outside listening to her dogs

aisha: the undersider with the best taste! we know that early worm aisha is a bona fide scene teen, and i think she consequently likes blink-182, pierce the veil, 3oh!3, cobra starship, and maybe a little bring me the horizon. in later worm aisha's taste gets less pop, like deftones, odd future, etc. she's a supervillain who would actually listen to madvillainy. aisha is also probably the only undersider who actively seeks to cultivate her own music taste! a good chunk of the undersiders have trauma that separate them from their interests and/or feelings, but aisha is an undersider who i think is both self aware and also true to herself, as well as being genuinely interested in art!

alec: speaking of undersiders who have a difficult time developing a defined music taste due to being cut off from a strong sense of self. alec in early worm is too depressed/apathetic to seek out music for himself, he'd rather be playing video games or watching movies. which is a shame because disassociating to music is one of the depressed activities of all time! alas alec's vision of a person with Taste is like. cherie. rip. however, aisha completely turns his life around into a guy who likes...................... soulja boy

hello 🤭 oc lore time! oc is nameless for now so i will simply be referring to them as "oc" HAHAHHA

oc was one of the oldest of the orphans, who was just two years short of aging out of the system before being "chosen" at age 16 (would aging out have been a better fate, or would it all have ended the same anyways? oc still wonders to this day), who was taken in by playtime co. following the death of their mother at age 10 after no other relatives came forward to take her child. oc is kind and calm and smart—good in all of the subjects, though with fairly average physical abilities aside from their reflexes, which were borderline cat-like. it was not uncommon to see them absolutely snatch up one of the younger orphans before that child could get hurt somehow. oc doesn't especially like the younger kids and never has, but still does feel responsible for them as the one who is quite possibly the oldest.

now, at the young and tender age of 14, oc discovered the truth of playtime co's operations; i like to think one of the scientists promised that if they stayed quiet, said nothing and did nothing, and made themselves as unremarkable as possible, they just might be able to age out and get away (something tells me that would not have happened anyways). this could be a canon character but i'm still thinking about who it would be. anyways! oc did not sleep that night, too scared to even try. and after that night, they began counting down the days until they would turn 18, and started meticulously failing at some things while just being average at others and playing dumb about it for the next two years.

(which, of course, did not go unnoticed by harley. he knew better. they knew better than to think they could fool him, but... you know. they still had to try.)

unfortunately, two years shy of their 18th birthday, they were chosen.

they retained all cognitive function but struggled deeply with reflexes and general movement for a while, something that harley was deeply frustrated about. thankfully, oc regained their physical ability after some time.

anyways!

what was a kind and calm child became cynically cruel and chaotic and honestly as much of a problem as they could possibly be to every single person responsible for hurting them like this. they thrived on pissing harley off, because no matter how much agony it caused them, they loved knowing that he was no more emotionally mature than they were! what a little headache, cackling through the pain and tears, biting and scratching and fighting until their consciousness slipped away because the agony was just too much to bear.

you think harley wanted yarnaby completely dependent upon him? what he wanted for oc was worse, because as much of a problem as they were, their intelligence and reflexes were valuable.

eventually, this behavior ceases—but only towards dr. sawyer, which is precisely what he wanted, because guess what? when the others decide to... knock harley down a peg, so to speak, they also forfeit all control of oc because harley was the only one they would begrudgingly obey.

because no matter what the others do, they will never hurt oc as badly as harley did.

We're all so glad to see you here again! I still have pretty boy brainrot, so I've been thinking LOTS about him on your break. Silly question, if the paldea friend group went to the 'happiest place on earth', what do you think they'd all enjoy about it? Any dislikes for them? I know arven probably doesn't like the idea of themeparks but cmon! If his little buddy wants to go it can't be THAT bad, right?

I do love Disney world and a lot of Disney movies and I go through a phase every few years where I get obsessed with the idea of going to Disney world again and planning a great trip and stuff. Like I grew up in a family where we spent a few years going to Disney a ton, then I didn't go again until adulthood when I ran their princess half marathon a few times.

So while I don't consider myself a Disney Expert(tm) I think I know a bit more than maybe the average person???

Also this isn't gonna be a fic but more just a bullet point list

•gotta start off with the obvious here, but Arven did not go to the pokemon equivalent of Disney as a kid. Like there were no family trips, so...yeah.

•he probably didn't even go as a part of end-of-year school trips.... No one to sign his permission slip, after all

•so when the urge to go to the theme park hits one of The Squad (probably Nemona or Reader id think) he's probably a little ambivalent to the idea, since he has no associated nostalgia. He may even feel a bit sour about it, since it reminds him of Yet Another Thing he missed out on

•but I do think he'd go along anyway. He can't let his buddies have all the fun without him after all

•at first the plan is to go to the park in Kalos since that's closest. HOWEVER as soon as Carmine hears about your intended trip, she and the BB Academy crew INSIST on you and your pals going to one of Unova's parks, so it becomes a Whole Big Thing

•ngl I don't see Penny or Nemona being the sort who would be willing to do all of the planning that goes into a well done Disney trip. Arven is Team Dad enough to do a good job of it, but even then I don't think that for his first trip he'd be invested enough in the planning details or really just know/understand

•so it ultimately falls on Lacey and Amarys to schedule things like meal reservations, fast passes, and other stuff

•like dark rides and most of the trackless coasters are fine, but anything like Superman or The Hulk or Dueling Dragons (none of those are Disney I know but still) don't sit well with her afterward. She still does it because it's fun, but she has to really pace herself.

•her favorite park would probably be the Hollywood Studios equivalent because it has so many rides like the Star wars ones, runaway railway, Tower of terror, slinky dog, etc.

•If penny's at all into any of this she's in it for the aesthetic and vibe

Part three of this ask, the Nerazim

Part 1/3 the Tal'darim

Anar. The oldest of N&N babies. Nothing much to say about them aside from that they're a reclusive phase smith (or the Nerazim equivalent to one) They’re good at what they do and they know it, which can lead to them coming off as rather arrogant and full of themselves. They also have your average "oldest child syndrome" and tend to parent their siblings, who are adults and literally hundreds of years old in most cases, which once again is something that often makes them look patronising.

Elyon. A very underdeveloped character for now. I keep putting their writing off because I don't feel like I can portray their story adequately just yet. Yet. They're half Khalani, half Nerazim, the oopsie baby of Zhakul and Tali and because of this mixed heritage, they struggle to “decide” who they want to be in a world where the Nerazim and Khalai society haven't really integrated yet. In a world where not many mixed protoss exist just yet, they fel like they don't really belong in either society and grow up shy and reclusive because of this.

Their end game was to become an Alyssar. Because this little bean is, like, so hungry for knowledge. You know how humans are inherently hungry for money? Elyon’s like that, only with information. Anything is fair game, from knowledge about botany, philosophy, terran theater plays, the way plasma based engines work, molecular structure of a sandwich, etc. They don't necessarily want to do anything with it, like become a doctor or a politician or even a scholar, they just want to have it, to know, to understand. Eventually a few centuries down the line, they move their ass to Ehlna and join the other Alyssar. 

You could also argue it's a coping mechanism. Elyon will live for centuries, like all protoss, but their terran family won't. The grief that strikes them when Jake passes away (and Zhakul's visceral reaction to it) as well as the horror of seeing Harper get older and older in front of their eyes while they stay young, frightens them. So they occupy their brain with other things just so they don't have to think about this, and learning about crop rotation and quantum entanglement seems to be the thing!! 

Elyon also keeps their cords uncut despite frequently feeling the societal presure to do otherwise. This is mostly because it's the only way they get to feel close to one of their fathers, Talizun, who is a previously mangled zealot currently enlosed in the shell of a dragoon. They especially begin to rely on this bond after Jake's passing.

Nanzak. A very tall, very lanky middle-aged protoss lady. (middle-aged for THEIR standard. So she's like 600 years old) Very quiet, reserved, may come off as cold, unfriendly or even mean to others, but really she just likes her peace and personal space.

She's a performer and a dancer originating from a nomadic tribe deep within the midnight deserts of Shakuras. I really like the idea that a sense of family and tribes is very strong within certain Nerazim communities and Nanzak comes from one. The desert tribes have a different outlook on life, which then takes shape in their customs and culture. She'd be considered sort of an outsider in the more urban areas, mostly because she sticks to her tribe's customs and doesn't want to mitigate it whatsoever. She's proud of who she is, very secure in her place in life and society and if someone doesn't like it, that sounds like a them problem. 

She's absolutely and irrevocably in love with her short husband, who she has like seven kids with (something very usual with the the protoss, since most have like two to three offsprings in life IN TOTAL) Speaking of-

Narzul. As mentioned previously, he's Nanzak’s short husband and a complete opposite of her when it comes to personality. He's social, loud, kind of a joker, open and curious. Also quite clumsy compared to her (everyone is clumsy compared to her)

He's a very skilled medic who was travelling all over Shakuras in his youth to quench his thirst of curiosity and that's how they met. They've been together for like four centuries now, have seven kids and are absolutely that couple in public that is way too comfortable with PDA. You know the one. He also absolutely will start talking about his wife and how much he loves her and how cool and perfect she is every chance he gets and won't shut up for hours. Your fault for asking.

After Haven and Shakuras boot up their diplomacy programme, he eagerly joins as the protoss's designated medic. Mostly because he's very very curious about terran medical science and wanted an excuse to to eagerly study it. Now he can do that while there's also so many terrans running around that he can talk to about their whacky boddies?? It's like a dream come true! (he WILL ask about your bowel movements nearly every morning buckaroo you better get used to it) which eventually leads to him being curious about different aspects of terran culture as well.

He also has a role as a sort of an emotional anchor (???) during the time Zhakul is expecting Elyon. This is an unplanned baby that neither Zhakul or Jake feel like they're ready for and are lowkey (highkey) panicking about it, especially Jake, who doesn't feel like he could ever be an adequate father figure to anyone ever. Narzul helps midigate that in a way only a wise old man that's seen it all can do.

Ulzea. The one thing I can say about her is that she’s very pink in my head. And that’s about it fjdvikjbvf

Funny how she’s existed for about *checks watch* fourteen years and there’s barely anything to say about her (even her name, Ulzea, was recycled from a different character that I renamed last year) This is because she was never really a person to begin with. I make it no secret that this entire AU is based off of my frequent daydreaming from when I was a teenager trying to cope with an unfavourable family situation. The thing with daydreams is that they make for an excellent distraction and are a good tool for coming up with ideas, but they make terrible stories when they’re put on paper, namely because of their overly long, complex and often nonsensical narratives that are more aimed to the be self-gratifying to the daydreamer rather than be fully realised, balanced stories.

But I digress. Ulzea is a victim of this. I think the best way to describe her would be that she’s to Zhakul what Vorazun is to Artanis during the events of LotV, that being that she acts as an exposition dump whenever he needs to listen to some Nerazim lore. Ulzea is worse than Vorazun, given that Vorazun is still, you know, a character of her own with her own personality and growth and so on. Ulzea never had this.

The reason why I never talked about her is because she’s essentially been written out of Zhakul’s story because of this. She was more of a narrative device for me to arrange my headcons about the Nerazim rather than anything else, which I achieved by having her dumping this information onto Zhakul, who only just got to Shakuras after living with terrans for some sixteen years and had no idea how to be a protoss. She’s just no longer needed as a character because Zhakul learns of his heritage in a more organic way, but recently I’m thinking about bringing her back if not for any other reason that she’s pretty (also because Zhakul just. Needs more protoss friends who are close to his age)

Uszadar. One of Narzul and Nanzak’s several babies. He lives in the more rural parts of Shakuras, specifically around the crater where the Xel’laga Temple is situated, but due to his lifestyle tends to be mostly nomadic. 

I have a terrible habit of fixating on small features and details in media that regular people don't tend to give a shit about, which is also a case here. I love the kakarus. I have loved them since I first played Brood Wars at the ripe age of six. They were my favourite critter in the entire game and stayed as such to this day as well. I always envisioned them as, like, flying mounts for the protoss because kiddie me was obsessed with dragons, dragon riders and the 2002 Dinotopia miniseries that featured the skybax. So big flying lizard-thing mean alien ride too, yes? 

Anyway, the joys of having my own AU means I can do whatever I want, so I say the protoss ride kakarus. It's mostly something done in the more rural parts of Shakuras because the more urban areas just use modern technology for the transport of cargo, people and messages. At this point it's the equivalent to how us humans keep horses. Something that used to be widespread and important for the function of society is nowadays mostly a hobby. Uszadar is mostly on the practical side of things, still utilising kakarus for transport and to reach the more rural parts of Shakuras, as well as doing conservationist work for the species, preserving their natural environment as well as studying them both in the wild and in captivity. 

Meaning that, yes, he's a horse girl. 

Zeredar. Once again, this is one of Nanzak and Narzul’s babies. She was originally gonna die during the second invasion of Shakuras but then my friends convinced me to let her live (boo) so she continues to unleash herself on the rest of the world. I see her as someone with a very dry sense of humour, which often makes her come off as rude or mean. She’s also the kind of person who can keep an absolute deadpan expression while telling the most hilarious joke you have ever heard. She’s also very dramatic and sassy, something she gets from her mother.

Funnily enough, however, I also see her as a fairly cheerful person, similar to how her father is, despite what her sense of humour may suggest. It’s a bit harder to see this side of her, you have to get to know her better first, but under all that sass and sarcasm, she has a generally positive outlook on life and people, doing what she can to see the best in everyone and everything. She’s very proud of her work and is confident in it's quality, similar to her oldest sibling, and is also a very confident person overall.

The injury she suffered during the invasion doesn’t slow her down one bit and she continues to find beauty and happiness in her life regardless of it.

Zhakul’s mothers

They’re just as old as him, turning 14 years this year, but unlike him, they're are barely concepts. Which is fine in the case of this particular story, given that it’s not about them and they more or less exist so Zhakul can have certain aspects of his backstory set in place, like that he’s related to Vorazun through one of them, or that he eventually decides to walk in their footsteps as an elite member of the Matriarch’s personal Shadow Guard.

They were fully dedicated to their duties and very happy as only a couple, never intentionally trying for a baby. Which is partially the reason for why Zhakul is born when they’re fairly old, being in their early 700s. They both loved him very very much and would happily claim that the few years they got to spend with him before their untimely deaths were the happiest years in their long lives.

Both of them die a few months before the events of WoL. With the zerg invasion beginning anew, many protoss colonies were evacuated as a safety measure, including the one they were escorting. This was during the time the Dominion was kicking its Hybrid Program into overdrive and needed, um, material, to be able to build these guys from. I see you know where this is going. The ship on which the protoss were being evacuated on got seized by Dominion secret forces, resulting in a great loss of life, which included both of Zhakul’s mother.

Um. Anyway.

This is the oldest OC I have. Period. He was conceptualised in summer 2010 when Wings of Liberty first came out and I played through the campaign for the first time. I fell in love with this game all over again, and came up with Zhakul as a way to organise my thoughts on it because I just could not stop thinking about it. Many things in the AU changed, he mostly remained the same. From the day I first imagined him up until now, he underwent very minor design changes and very small changes to his overall story. This is because he is perfect and has no flaw-

The only other character I can think of that I am more attached to other than him is Jake (who is also nearly as old as Zhakul) who he is essentially attached to the hip to and an integral part of his story, just like he is in Jake’s. They meet shortly after Zhakul is rescued by the Raiders from Castanar, where he was held captive and experimented on. The story of how the Raiders dumped him on Haven is a bit long and I think I already spoke of this on this blog anyway (???) He then integrates into terran society and becomes a part of Jake’s family, almost being like his adoptive brother but not really because he’s an alien being raised by humans. Still, he’s loved just as much by them.

He continues to suffer from terrible anxiety and rather intense ptsd episodes from when he was held captive and experimented on, which was something his terran family did their best to help him with, but there’s only so much therapy made for humans, by humans, can do to help an alien, not to mention when said alien struggles with trauma as heavily as Zhakul does. This eventually results in him severely hurting Jake in one of his episodes by slashing his chest open, after which he panics and runs away from Haven to Shakuras.

(How does he get to Shakuras? No idea. Its been a plothole for the past fourteen years.)

There he gets a bit of a culture shock because he’s been living with terrans for the past sixteen years or so and has no idea what it means to be protoss. Essentially, he’s a terran in protoss skin and I remember that one of my favourite things to think about was how confusing his learnt mannerisms would be to everyone else (like how protoss tilt their head instead of chuckling meanwhile us humans do it when we’re confused. I imagine this lead to quite a few SituationsTM)

A lot of stuff happens here. Zhakul originally only ran away for the sake of running away but eventually figured out the protoss will surely be able to offer better help than terrans? So he gets it into his head that he will go to whatever equivalent of therapy the Nerazim have and then come back to Haven, because more than anything he yearns to be with his family and with Jake. A lot of things happen here, namely events that include Dal and Tali, showing that him that he cannot deal with his issues by burying them deep inside him and pretending they’re not real, but rather by admitting to himself that they happened and learning to accept it and let go. 

A lot of Zhakul’s story is about trauma, coping with it and about healing from it. About learning that your past does not define you as a person and that it’s on you to decide who you are, not other people. The past cannot be erased, so why continuously dwell on it? Mistakes are made, relationships are broken and lost, but being forever attached to all of this and pondering how it could have been different is pointless. What you can do is learn from it, change your future, put effort into being the best version of yourself that you can be, for the sake of yourself and those around you.

He does eventually come back to Haven to make amends, but what happens is once again long and convoluted and more focused on Jake rather than him, because the gremlin human also needs his own character arc. They end up leading a pretty interesting life together, full of adventure and other various shenanigans, but writing about that would end in a much longer essay than this is already. Anyway, Zhakul is my baby and a personal favourite, the One That Started It All and my favourite punching bag.

Bio: Blossom was created 6 years after her sister Bliss, along with her sisters Bubbles and Buttercup. After about a week or two, Professor Utonium signed all three of them up for their first day of School at Pokey Oaks Kindergarten. Their first day went great, until they learned how to play tag for the first time. Their game resulted in the destruction of Townsville, which made the entire City turn against them, making them exile themselves to some debris in the stratosphere. This gave the evil monkey, Mojo Jojo, an opening to take over the City with him as the King. Unfortunately for him, the girls could not stand the screams and agony of the people, and especially not their father, as they returned to the City, defeated Mojo and became the protectors of Townsville. Since then, they have always defeated any evil monsters who threaten to irradicate the population of Townsville(This is an abbreviation as there is way too much to write about!). But their story is not over yet!

The Klatooinian tried to bellow again but several things happened at once. 

A middle aged man entered the diner and looked like he’d seen this play more than once. 

Five other Mandalorians rushed out from a back room, followed by Ki, who must have been bringing them something because she still had a tray in her hands.

The Klatooinian found their face thoroughly covered with noodles, broth, chewed up meat, and the pieces of fire stack that Grogu had eaten when his dad wasn’t looking. 

It was a spectacle. 

“Thanks, kid. I think you have the situation under control.”

Din Djarin turned to the address the other Mandos, as Grogu maintained his perch on his seat, left hand held high, while he delivered the best scowl he could manage to the bewildered Klatooinian. 

“Oya, Manda! Any of you know who this fool is?”

The middle aged man Grogu had noticed just as he delivered his salvo onto the Klatooinian stepped forward.

“I know this fool. Goro Kel, you must have just been released and this is what you choose to do? Go right back to the New Republic prison world? The local force will be here shortly once they sort out the fifty three reports they got from the people who left when you walked through that door.”

“I came here to get Muun Bajir!” 

The Klatooinian roared.

Grogu was a little taken aback but the Mandos, including his dad, all began to laugh and not just a little.

“Oh, you’ll get that all right. We can take care of that for you right now.”

Grogu was worried as he saw a taller than average Mando step forward. Even with all their armor they still looked like a wisp next to the Klatooinian. 

“No need to do that Adora. I’m sure the Mand’alor can handle this one.”

Another of the Mandos commented and Grogu relaxed just a little. So they all knew that his dad had been Mand’alor for about fifteen minutes. That was good. 

“I happen to know that Muun is off world and won’t be returning for at least a couple of weeks. By the time she’s back you’ll be on Kammia, wishing you hadn’t been this stupid.”

Grogu was impressed with the human, but worried that their words just made the Klatooinian angry as Goro Kel whirled around to face the person who had been speaking mostly to their back up to that point.

What happened next surprised not just Grogu, but all the Mandos standing there listening to the exchange. Ki walked right up to the huge Klatooinian and whacked him on the head with her tray, prompting him to drop his weapon on his own foot. The Klatooinian did two things which made everything more comical. First, he howled like a Wookiee that had sat on a fire pineapple and he began to hop on one foot while clutching the one that had been somewhat squashed by his weapon. 

Being one of the people closest to the Klatooinian, Din Djarin quickly seized the weapon and activated it’s safety features. No one needed to be turned into a pile of ash by accident.

“I’ve told ya’ every time you’ve come in, Muun isn’t here. You can’t just threaten folks when they tell you things you don’t like, you nerf herder. I’ve seen jelly roots with more self-respect than you got. You also can’t go around stealing beskar from folks because you like how shiny it is. See, these nice folks here are what you call Mandalorians. Beskar belongs to them. All of it. All the time. You’re just lucky Chief Inspector Ardos is here to make sure they don’t make you cold, you dumb gundark.”

Grogu agreed with every word Ki said as she lectured the miserable Klatooinian. He saw the change come over the Mandos as Ki mentioned the beskar. She wasn’t wrong. Din Djarin had threatened to end people over just a single set of armor. What all those Mandalorians would do to someone who had repeatedly stolen the stuff they held to be practically sacred, was more than Grogu wanted to imagine. He’d seen enough bad things. He didn’t need to contemplate new ones.

Just as he was wondering what might happen next, Grogu noticed the uniformed, armored, weaponed personnel that made up the Corellian Security Order. Ten of them walked into the diner, shoulder to shoulder and quickly surrounded the Goro Kel. Grogu’s dad handed the weapon he was holding to one of them and then took a step back. 

“Hey, Chief, I didn’t expect to see you here. I guess I should have as soon as I heard that Muun’s ship landed at the yard. At least this time you got a jump on the mess and no one got hurt.”

A young, excited voice chirped from inside one set of the Corellian armor. 

“Muun’s ship? Did you see her? I should go warn her about this one, while you take him back to the lock up.”

Days Ardos spoke like he was still their chief, instead of the retiree he actually was. 

“I’ll go check on it. I’m a friend. We keep missing one another.”

Din Djarin spoke before Grogu could get a word in edgewise. 

“Go on honey. Muun will be happy to see ya. Don’t forget your kit, or your kid. I’m sure she’ll be happy to meet him.”

Ki was grinning at them and Grogu wondered how many times she had seen this sort of thing play out. More than once was his guess.

“Come on Grogu. Let’s go meet Muun Bajir.”

Grogu jumped over to his dad and immediately regretted not grabbing the last little bit of the fire stack that was on the counter. Suddenly he was very hungry.

Hello!! I've recently found your blog and I absolutely adore your writing and even have notifications on, hehe 🫶🏻 I'd like to request a match up, but of course only if you have the time to do it!

I'm 22 years old and I use she/her pronouns. I speak two languages (German+English), I have blond, medium length hair (it's dyed, my natural hair color is brown) which is wavy but I straighten it because I think it looks better. Sometimes, when I'm bored, I dye some colorful strands into it! (Like pink, or red, or purple.) I'm average in height, although on the higher side of the spectrum by being 5'7. I'm chubby, which I'm a insecure about, but I don't let that hold me back from dressing how I want, at least on most days. I usually wear baggy or loose clothes but on special occasions I wear form fitting clothes as well. I wear glasses, they're transparent and pink, and I absolutely love to do my make up! I'm very creative when it comes to it and it's often that I wear a lot of colors on my face, but not that it's too overbearing.

My personality type is ENFP 2w3 and I tend to get along with everyone, but more so with ambivert people since I sometimes have phases where I'm more introverted. I like people who are different from me since I like hearing a different perspective on things, so people who are too close to me in terms of personality are a no go. I also like mature people, so unnecessary fights or arguments can easily be avoided. I talk a lot and I joke around a lot too, so people tend to call me a social butterfly which I agree with. I need my downtime too, so it isn't too uncommon to find me sitting alone in my room, listening to music and playing video games at the end of the day.

I do have a few mental struggles and I do have a chronic illness as well (I don't wanna outright say what I have, but I have incredibly bad stomach aches from time to time, so bad that I even had to have a surgery because of it when I was 17.) All that is too say is that I can be a bit complicated at times, but I try my best to better myself.

My hobbies include: mainly playing video games (like stardew valley, animal crossing, generally more relaxing games), doing my make up, baking (when I'm stressed which is too often), and going out with my friends! I love running errands with my friends and spending time with them that way! I'm open to a lot of new things but I get extremely frustrated when I'm not immediately good at something, lol.

toji, in all his powerful presence, goes inside a room with a permanent scowl on his face. you, sparkly white eyeshadow with smoke eyeliner, pink glasses and equally pink highlights, comes behind. bubbly and threatening aura mixing together to create something no one else would have thought, yet, anyone can see the care you both have for the other.

can’t you see? if you look closely to toji, there is glitter sprinkled on his cheekbones and nose button, as well as a blue strand of his hair. but mostly, he might have show to everyone a threatening face, but when he stares at you, there is a smile present on his lips and a shine in his eyes.

it’s something that had been lost for a long time, some could say.

your dressed to the extreme for this boring party shiu is throwing, black silk dress conturing your waist and hips, at first you might have had some doubts about it, still you didn’t changed it — never one to back down.

that’s one of the many things that made toji attracted to you, your insecurities does not define you. thank god for that, he thinks while admiring you doing your eyes. so pretty and so his, he might just not go the party and have you all to himself.

“you look pretty.” he compliments while trying to knit his tie. you finish the final touches before moving his way, pressing a peck to his lips and doing it for him. “thank you, doll.”

toji is a simple guy, his clothes are either black or grey and sometimes a dark blue might be presented in his drawer. that doesn’t mean he doesn’t like colors, if anyone where to ask him what’s his favorite, he would find you and pick the most vibrant one you are wearing. you’re his favorite everything, okay? in the presence of your room, if you ask, he will say is the color of your lips.

while first meeting, toji was instantly attracted to you, but he thought you would never give him a chance. that was, of course, until you let it slip how you are more inclined to romantic partners different than you, and hey! toji has the social life of a fucking worm with amnesia and you are a social butterfly, what could be more different than that?

he knew he had you right there, and you had been aware as well, so the dating started right away. toji and you don’t fight, he might not seem mature but he is strategic and pays attention to everything, so if something bothers you, he knows right away and change whatever it is quickly. you didn’t liked him gambling and he stopped before you could get even more annoyed.

your disagreements never reach the fighting stage if it comes from his side, but if comes from yours, you are more than happy to hear what is his complain and make it work. cheers to being non-toxic!

toji is very worrying of you. he likes to come home and see you happy, doing a random makeup or playing video games. he will sit on the bed while talking to you about both of your days, happy that you are recharging and having a you time. still, he goes extremely quiet and full on boyfriend mood when he comes home and you are baking. your pastries are divine, but something is wrong!

you will soon find yourself relaxing in a bathtub, using him as a personal pillow, caressing your back while letting you vent. if it is your medical condition, he will encourage you to go to a doctor, just for a checkup at least, if is mental, he will also beg for you to go to a professional, and also ends the night spoiling you by buying your favorite food. the next day he won’t work, instead toji rather be with you, learning how to play your games and having you doing his makeup.
