i think if we’re going to talk about marginalized people who turn into tar pits we also have to talk about the circumstances that turn them into tar pits bc it is incredibly easy to become bitter and incredibly difficult to hold out hope your oppressors will change

#the adas speak #i mean it’s not that hard for me. but i had to get really mentally ill to figure my shit out and i wouldn’t recommend it #just generally. systemically. minorities are. yknow. minorities. and being treated as such Is Bad #i don’t really think anyone’s fully ignoring this fact but tumblr just generally lacks compassion #don’t get me wrong. they are tar pits. but understandable tar pits. you gotta be niceys #just generally you should probably be niceys. that helps in a lot of situations #sucks ass. requires patience. but is the best way towards progress #unfortunately i fear i’ll have to find a way to take my own advice in this class i don’t want to be in #as the only black person i want to like. help the class goal of making idiots woke. in the original sense of the word #which means i have to be niceys :( to people whose numbers i already have blocked for good reason :(#but it’s in the name of them not being idiots anymore so I guess I’ll do it :( sometimes you have to do it angry :(
