• The world should just end. It was the only thing you were manifesting right now as you were walking down the street.
• Why? Because well when you were mourning at home on your parents death anniversary your boyfriend of years was cheating on you with some random girl. And also your landlord has given you the notice to leave the house in 2 weeks all of a sudden. The only thing you have now is your job.
• You were going to meet a broker to find a new house when your stomach ache started again. You have been feeling this way for quite some days but you ignored it as you haven't got much time between finding a new house and your love life's drama. And on top of that this stomach ache. Just great. Please god just kill me you thought when out of nowhere you felt fainting. No. No god I just thought that figuratively not literary Please don't kill me you thought before black took you over.
• You woke up and found your self on an hospital bed. An IV attached to your hand.
• An handsome doctor came in giving you a polite smile. "Glad you woke up. You fainted on street a kind stranger got you here. You fainted due to appendicitis. It was infected so we took out via surgery. The staff called your emergency contact which is your friend I guess. she signed all the surgery and consent paper while you were unconscious. We have to keep you here for two days under observation just in case nothing serious." The handsome doctor said. Well that explains everything how I ended here you thought.
• After the doctor went your friend came in. Fussing all over you.
• Your friend stayed with you most of the time during the 2 days. You both thought that the doctor was so polite, good looking and handsome. Especially more handsome in his scrubs
• During the two days you were in the hospital. Yan Doctor would stop at your room a lot unnecessarily.
• He would check up on you a lot saying "doctor duties" when it was not at all necessary but who is gonna tell you anyways.
• Would try to chit chat with you and your friends during his break.
• Switched his shift with his colleague just to be around you went it was his day off.
• When he heard you were looking for a house. He told you a house beside his is empty and affordable so if you want you can move there.
• After getting discharged you went to get a look at the house. It was so spacious and beautiful yet it's price was too low according to its infrastructure you thought when it should cost a lot. Nevermind the owners loss you thought and moved into that house.
• You and yan doctor were neighbours now.
• He would often invite you for meals at his house. Under the facade of "I again made too much".
• Helps you in shifting and settling down. Saying "I am just being a good Neighbour".
• Well in reality the owner of that house is none other than yan doctor. He knew that this house's rent value is a lot but he told you less because he wanted you closer to him. In fact he wanted to give you this house to live at free but that would cause a lot of suspicion so he told you a very low price.
• Has been obsessed with you since he saw you unconscious on the stretcher brought into hospital looking beautiful as angel. He thought you looked beautiful while unconscious. But when he talked to you saw you smile, heard your voice he thought you were out worldly. Just Divine.
• This man is madly in love with you.
• Kills your ex with a overdose of drug making it look like an accident just because he was jealous and mad that he hurt you emotionally. How could someone cheat on such a perfect human? He thought.
• Tries his best to become close to you and become your friend and more.
• Gives you health advice all of the time.
• You fell sick? This man becomes your personal doctor, nurse everything.
• Has so much money that always showers you with your favourite coffees, meals and tickets to movies or concert. His reason? "Well I was just passing by and saw this I know you like it so I bought it for you". When in reality this man specifically goes to that place just for getting it for you.
• He sees your one smile and feel like he won in life. This man is whipped for you.
• If you ask this man for his heart he would literally tear his chest and pull his heart out for you. Nothing matters to him except you. You are his everything.
• When you get an invite to a wedding. You thought who should I take with me as a date?
• Yan Doctor keeps throwing hints at you all week indicating that he wants to be your wedding date. This man is so desperate for you.
• When you finally ask him to be your wedding date. This man is the most happiest person in world. You might think you just asked him to marry you by looking at his happy expressions.
• Well don't worry darling because he is damn sure you are gonna marry him one day.
• With you being conscious or high with drug. Choice is yours darling. After all he is a good doctor and knows how to use them well.

I want to ask why you chose Aaron Warner, Christian Harper, and Rhys Larsen as a good comparison to Sylus? I want an essay!! I LOVE Aaron Warner but honestly haven't yet read the twisted series. Also, I don't mind spoilers so... excited to see what you come up with!
You want an essay??? Please 🙄 ….. No problem lets get it 😘
bear with me I read the twisted series over a year ago
‼️SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS‼️
Tumblr media
Aaron Warner [Shatter Me Series ~ Tahereh Mafi] - This 5'9" golden haired military assassin with a heart of STONE. Yea you thought I was gonna say heart of gold huh? Nah this boy was trained to be a killer from birth. However when it comes to Juliette/Ella she is quite literally the only thing he cares about and is also the only girl he's ever loved.
He will quite literally sacrifice the world if it means she will be okay. His memory was erased multiple times, but he fell in love with her every. single. time. If it's for Juliette/Ella he's a goner because she is his only weakness in the world. He wants to love her and be loved by her and only her unconditionally.
“The reason why he had to keep wiping their memories was because it didn’t matter how many times he reset the story or remade the introductions— Aaron always fell in love with her. Every time.”
Tumblr media
Christian Harper [Twisted Lies ~ Ana Huang] - Now this man stalked his girl for I think 5 years before making himself known. He's a billionaire who runs a security/tech company and he can hack into anything. He's a modern day genius obsessed with this girl Stella. They finally met in person when she moved into one of his apartment buildings with her friend Jules. He really slipped into her life though when Jules moved out and she couldn't afford the rent. He made a deal with her by letting her stay for a lower price and these were high end apartments (At least like 80% off the listing price). He also happened to live just one floor above her. The deal was she would take care of his plants in exchange for the low cost. He claims he isn't a jealous man yet he's jealous of every person she smiles at, every laugh that he didn't cause, etc he's completely and utterly obsessed with her from page one.
He will do literally anything for her including pretending the be her man for her social media platforms oh yea she's an influencer/model. Stella also likes being tied up and Christian happily obliged to tying her up ON A YACHT and was a real pussy pleaser. He supported her in her fashion designer endeavor and married her ass and IMMEDIATELY put a baby in her.
Oh one more thing Stella got kidnapped while her and Christian were fighting (this man was SICK) he sent a Code Black Out to all his agents in the area to find her and code black out if for extreme emergencies. Let’s just say her kidnapper is having a nice nap. A permanent nap. (Reminds you of a certain someone who turned MCs kidnapper into fucking black and red mist huh?)
Tumblr media
Rhys Larsen [Twisted Games ~ Ana Huang] - Forget Prince Charming give me Mr. Scarred Knight Rhys Larsen 😮‍💨. He's ex-military and works as a bodyguard now (He works for none other than Christian Harper & they're in a sense friends) This man and his girl Princess Bridget who is a literal Princess. He was her bodyguard and she was forced to step up and become Queen because her brother married a commoner so he couldn't become king and Eldorra (their country) needed a ruler.
She basically starts acting up and Rhys is like girl wtf is going on?! She ends up wanting to do everything on her bucket list before becoming Queen so Rhys takes her to Costa Rica to do it. They fall for each other but it's a forbidden love so they can't really be together because she's royalty and he's a commoner. He fell in love despite him telling her he doesn't get involved with his clients. Him and Bridget were blackmailed by someone close to her which caused him to be terminated as her bodyguard. This man never drank in his life, but the minute he had to let Bridget go he drank himself stupid.
He was down bad for her (and so was she). They went through hell trying to get a centuries old law overturned so he could marry her. He didn't care about the fame or the royal title he just wanted to be with her. This man broke every single one of his rules that he'd set for himself for her. He never really opened up about his scars to anyone, but her (and I think Christian).
He's rough around the edges and can be a dom daddy made her stir down to her heels and said "Crawl to me" (SCREAMING WHINING AND RUNNING AROUND THE ROOM) He's also VERY possessive I quote...
"From this point on you're mine. No other man touches you. If they do I know seventy-nine ways to kill a man and I can make seventy of the look like and accident. Understand?"
Tumblr media
I hope after reading all that you can see the similarities that I see. He's not dark romance he's just romance sunshine x grumpy basically.
I say all that to say this....
Sylus is morally gray like these characters above and he has a soft spot for MC (& the twins) he'll do anything for her and protect her at all costs. He's been through hell and may be a high functioning sociopath due to that trauma, but he still has a heart and is selective with who he's vulnerable with. He's not out here murdering people because they looked at MC. He knows his girl fine as hell, but he gets to touch while they hopelessly gaze.

In my professional life offline, I work with community development programs funded by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). One of the most important of these programs is the HOME Investment Partnerships Program, or “HOME” (not an acronym for some reason). In the last couple years, my office has contributed HOME funding to construction of around 400 new apartment units reserved for low-income families, plus conversion of a former hotel to single-resident occupancy units for people exiting homelessness and security deposit assistance for renters moving into market-rate units. I have a secondary role in the HOME program (most of my work is on a different grant, although I’ve contributed to the environmental reviews for all of our current round of projects), but I am immensely proud of what our team has done with a limited resource in a horrifically expensive housing market.
In 2023, House Republicans proposed cutting HUD’s 2024 budget for the HOME program by 67%, from $1.5 billion to $500 million.
Their proposal didn’t make it into the final bill. The President and Senate (under Democratic leadership) proposed HOME budgets of $1.8 billion and $1.5 billion, respectively. The final compromise budget allocated HUD $1.25 billion for the HOME program, a 17% cut which was passed down to every local HOME jurisdiction.
I’m glad the budget cuts weren’t worse. But what this means, in practical terms, is that one out of every six people we could have helped this year gets nothing. One out of every six people who would have received rent assistance is facing eviction. One out of every six people that would have received an affordable unit priced at 30% of their income has to keep giving 50% or more of their paycheck to market-rate landlords. We’re doing what we can with local resources, but there’s only so much you can do at the local level when federal funding goes away.
House Republicans are trying to reduce HOME funding to just $500 million again in 2025. So far, the Senate has rejected this, but barring a miracle upset, Democrats are almost certain to lose control of the Senate after next week’s election. If Republicans keep control of the House, and especially if they keep the House and win the Presidency, there is nothing stopping them from gutting housing programs completely.
I understand why people are frustrated with our choices this election. I am frustrated with our choices this election. But at the end of the day, I have a duty to my community. With Democrats in office, I can keep fulfilling that duty. With Republicans in office, I will lose the best tools I have to make a material difference to the vulnerable people who live around me. The people I serve will lose their housing, or they will lose their best path out of homelessness. There is no way around it.
Please, give me the tools to keep helping. Vote for Democrats up and down ballot, and once we’ve got them in office, thank them for doing what they do well and pressure the hell out of them to do better on the issues where they suck.
Because of gerrymandering (and geographic issues in general), control of the House will probably come down to just a few dozen races. I’m not endorsing any of these candidates on a personal level - some of them are probably good, some of them definitely suck - but they are the only bulwark we have against a party that wants to dismantle everything good about this country and lean into all the most shameful parts of our history. Every election matters, but if you live in one of these House districts, your vote is particularly important:

Personal: Glasses and Computer Update
Friday I stayed up half the day because both my glasses and Goth Millennial's were ready, so we went just after open to claim them. OMG the new glasses are good.
I had thought I maybe missed a window on learning to use bifocals properly. I'd given up on trying to use them for reading, as it was easier top look over the glasses and hold whatever is was up to my face than to use them. I had basic problems like dialing a phone number because the position on my nose that let me read the numbers was completely incompatible with the phonebook or pill container I was trying to read numbers off and I didn't have a third hand to shift my glasses back and forth.
Part of why I have such a large out of pocket cost for glasses is I must have bifocals and Medicare never covered that at all. This year they are contributing enough to cover the low tech bifocals I have had for the last half a decade.
Which my optometrist does not make anymore because they are terrible. (Optometrist is one of two places making Medicare covered glasses that I've been able to find here. A decade ago it was for sure just one. Not my Optometrist. At that time my optometrist was the only one taking Medicare for exams. It was a Whole Drama. Before that you had to get cheap government frames so flimsy they would break in a year, but glasses replacements were only allowed every two years. This too was an Entire Drama every fucking time).
Anyway, the Medicare discount is nice as it means I no longer have to pay full cost for the bifocals I am required to buy. It was about 25 more for the second highest tech ones than the minimum quality they were willing to make there. (Best was much more expensive and well out of the price range). This is also about the price of scratch resistant coating, which I also need, or the blue light thingy that's supposed to reduce eye strain. This seemed a reasonable price to pay or significantly better lenses. As always the biggest cost was the ultra lights which I need because they will not grind a prescription this expensive without it, with my total share of the bifocals being a bit less expensive with the applied discount even though they are three levels out of four higher in quality than Old Style bifocals.
Jesus fuck are these better. They promised a much larger range of quality vision, which seemed sus but proved to be real. They correct the deterioration to my right eye caused by the Horrible Eye Emergency. (I must reiterate do not rub your eyes no matter how you are tempted because it turns out you can Literally GO BLIND). My right eye remains noticeable better than the left despite everything. We just narrowed the distance some.) (I am used to reading with my right eye alone as it's easier than trying to force them to focus together without glasses. My eyes still both work, but as a team? Not so much).
Anyway, these are intuitive and easy to see things with instead of it being a constant struggle for me to try to focus and refocus my eyes moving between distances, requiring me to move them up or down my nose for even small changes in distance, or just give up and take them off if I need to do close work or close reading. (You try mending close when while watching TV where you constantly have to move your glasses out of the way to work then resettle them and find the right distance if you want to see an action sequence. I ended up mostly giving up mending clothes as too hard between bifocals being useless and the arthritis hands.)
So it turned out I'm not so much bad at bifocals as they cheap bifocals I could just barely afford with a lot of sacrifice were really bad at bifocalling. I would have been better off with a set of far glasses and close glasses on chains around my neck like my grandmother used to do. These though? i had to call in subscriptions and I kept having to stop myself doing the one eye trick out of habit because I could see the writing on the bottle at phone level.
It is still infuriating that it took this long for Medicare to grudgingly cover bifocals at all, and they really really need to cover the whole cost plus the ultra lights a lot of older people need, but it's something that the glasses are this much better at nearly the same cost as the much worse ones I usually get.
Reminder: I bought the glasses before the computer started to die and it was to late not to continue.
Computer Update: There is hope of my getting a replacement computer next week. It will cost more than the Housing tax payment and the bill shuffling next month will be ugly (I don't see how I can do Housing tax AND pay the biggest bill both), but Aidan laptop is slowing to a crawl and it's getting harder and harder to accomplish things. The extra is coming out of sleep and it's wearing me down, down, down.

Anyone else have a sibling that HAS to have ALL the attention and is entitled as fuck?
My sister is so fucking entitled it makes me sick. And she’s fake on top of it all.
So I know accidents happen and it only takes one time to get pregnant. And I know you’re wondering why this is an issue and you’re probably thinking I’m an asshole.
Well, we live on the family farm with our parents because this country is a hellscape. She was going through trade school, which fine I get them supporting her through that. However, her boyfriend lives here too (that’s partially my parents stupid mistake) and neither of them have a job or source of income.
Like. At all.
My parents FULLY support them financially and otherwise. And they had the fucking nerve to get pregnant and KEEP it..? On someone else’s dime? In a home that there is literally no room for a good damn baby? With a broke ass, dead beat ass fiancé..? Because of course they’re engaged. Idk how they’re going to get married or with what money. She wants to do that before she has the baby. L O FUCKING L.
Oh, but there’s more. Not only did my parents and I pay for her trade school, she slacked off and took too many “personal days” because she was upset about social things at school. Which created MORE fees adding up to 2300 dollars. Which I paid so she could graduate. Bitch. You are almost 22. Shut the fuck up.
ON TOP of that, I found a nice little manufactured home for a low price and showed her because it was cute. Not that I can afford it, but it’s fun to window shop and the bitch says, “I should have mom and dad help me with that.”
Our parents cannot afford to do that. And I told her so. She then gets all sad and butthurt. Like, excuse me? We literally grew up poor as dirt and she thinks our parents are just going to buy her everything? I know they spoiled the fuck out of her and that’s partially why she’s such a selfish brat, but honestly, it’s her personality.
But wait. THERE’S MORE.
Not only is she pregnant on our parents dime, she signed up for state insurance incorrectly and was just going to give up even after our other sister told her exactly how to do it and offered help. Her response? “Oh, mom and dad will pay for it.”
WITH WHAT MONEY, BITCH?!
She does next to fucking nothing around the house and is overly fucking sensitive about anything and everything. She’s also a little bitch ass know it all and she literally has no fucking clue about how anything in this world works, including her own body. Yes. She doesn’t even know how her vagina works and she decides to have a god damn baby that no one can afford.
And now I’m the asshole because I’m NOT excited. Nor do I have to be. She lied about “the condom didn’t fit right.” Then why did you do it? Especially when she KNEW she was ovulating..?
She tried to have a kid with her last fiancé under the same exact circumstances, but aborted that one because she realized it was a bad idea. Mind you, I’m the only one who knows this. If my hyper religious parents found out, they’d go ballistic. Part of me wishes I hadn’t protected her from that. Anyway, she did this shit on purpose. I know when she’s lying and she can’t even keep her lame ass story straight.
I am so done with her rn.
**** UPDATE
He finally got a decent job. Even though he could’ve been working a meager in between one instead of relying on my family for everything for over a year… but whatever I guess. At least he’s got a job now.

Why are African people wanting to leave their own continent when they should be selling to people outside of Africa to bring outside currency exchange rates into their own benefits? This is the craziest thing to me.
If you live in an area where your cost of living is much lower than living in places with a higher cost of living is much worse for you, economically speaking. You stay put, but put the higher currency in your pocket instead of bringing your labor and paying a higher cost for living in that area than when you can be much better off with having their money coming into you and your cost of living is low.
$100.00 USD can't do much of anything living in America but $100.00 living in Ghana and making a $100.00 USD can do wonders for you at a rate of 14 to 1 ratio is good living. Let's dive a little deeper into a person living in Texas and they smoke cigarettes that cost $10.00 per pack and this person smokes a pack of cigarettes a day after 30 days this total amount is $300.00
A nurse in Ghana makes on the average of 500 GHS a month which doesn't add up to much compared to the person who is blowing their money up in smoke. Africa is always on the bad side of the trade compared to what Africans are paying for a damn iPhone that is costing them on the average their annual income.
You're paying a years salary for a fucking phone? Are you going mad? Reverse that by selling American products cheaper to Americans using their own currency for your damn benefit, now if you want to go pay for an iPhone you can afford it without putting yourself in the fucking poorhouse.
Africa needs higher currency exchange rates coming in, not taking your cheap labor to places that cost you more to live than your own place where you have it better. I live in America and most of my clients live in Kawait because the Kawaiti danar is 3 times higher than the USD.
My Kawaiti clients are already getting a discount from me because their currency exchange rates are much higher than ours, so I can sell to them at retail pricing and we are both happy, it's even better if I get everything wholesale.
This is what makes exporting and importing more sensible than my greedy people in India who are selling shit like they live in Kawait with outrageous prices that we can get here in America cheaper because they are acting like we don't price check.
Someone in India wants to charge me $5400.00 USD for a fucking HTML5 video player when I can go to WordPress and build my own for $65.00 USD, now why would I pay someone who can live in luxury for a year and a half if not more? Do they not understand that we know what their currency exchange rates are?

I won’t lie your constant exposure to carnivore diet and other things you talked about have intrigued me but I’m currently a poor uni student with no job rn. Do you have any small tips for me on a low budget? I know I should be more specific about the advise but I’m asking as a catch all I guess. Sorry if I’m being a bother
(Sorry for the ramble I get sidetracked easily)
You're not bothering me. To some degree my advice will depend on whether you're a man or woman and what animal products you're willing to include/exclude. The "purest" form of carnivore is only red meat (meat from ruminant animals such as beef, lamb, elk, venison, goat, etc) with no dairy and no eggs. If that's not your style then include whatever you like. HOWEVER. I strongly recommend making fatty red meat the primary food, as well as eggs and butter if you like them and have no allergies. A lot of people think that the trick to keto/carnivore is that it's a low carb and high protein diet, but in fact the key to carnivore is that it is a high fat diet. Fat is the body and brain's optimal fuel source, so make sure you eat a lot of it. Lean meats like poultry and lean beef/pork cuts will not produce good results. If you're a woman, you will likely find that a caloric ratio of about 80% fat to 20% protein will feel the best. It is unclear exactly why women seem to benefit so much from this while men don't see much difference, but this means that women seeking this so-called "high fat carnivore" will have to supplement their meat with extra fat sources such as butter or fat trimmings. Personally, I get beef fat trimmings from a local butcher and cook them with each meal. If you're not a woman you can still do this, but it may not give much benefit over just eating meat normally (although there are male athletes who report that high fat is better for them, so for men it may come down to activity level). My theory for why women thrive more on a higher fat ratio is that large megafauna, most of which are now extinct, likely had a fat-to-muscle ratio that was closer to what the female body needs to support optimal hormonal and reproductive health. In the evolutionary timeline, these animals have not been gone for long and there's no reason to assume our biological processes would have evolved to be fully adapted to their absence yet. That's just my speculation though.
Anyway, for affordability, I think the most obvious answer is to shop the sales on everything and learn to work with cheap cuts of meat. I personally buy my beef by the animal, so I end up with a small handful of the prized cuts such as ribeyes and strip loins, and a whole lot of roasts, ribs, and ground beef. as a university student you do not have the financial bandwidth to do this, so you are stuck searching for the cheaper cuts like chuck, shank, top/bottom round, sirloin tip, as well as ground beef. all of these cuts can make delicious meals, especially if you opt to continue using seasonings (i personally do not, but neither do i begrudge those who are unwilling to give them up). these cuts are leaner, but if you add extra fat (trimmings or butter) then you can still get a good caloric ratio out of it.
if you or anyone you know has a Costco (or equivalent store) membership, you can also buy wholesale primal cuts. upfront cost is a bit high, but the price per pound is significantly cheaper than grocery stores. you can get brisket for like $2/lb at Costco
chicken is generally pretty cheap, especially if you buy the cheaper cuts like drumsticks and thighs. but again, it's very lean so be mindful of that. same goes for pork. also salmon is a really good and fatty option if you like fish.
i also save the melted fat which comes off when I cook beef fat, and reuse that whenever i need cooking oil for a different meal, so i don't burn through store bought tallow/lard or butter.
one of the biggest factors in determining your cost will be whether or not you are fussy about conventional vs pasture raised meat. if you are happy to eat conventional, then your costs will be significantly lower than if you insist on pastured products. as far as the impact on your health, there isn't much information about the difference between the two, i know people who eat conventional and others who eat pastured, they all feel good. for myself, and many people who choose pastured products, it's an ethical decision more than anything.
lastly, again i don't know your financial situation but if you have some wiggle room, you can look into an online butcher such as butcherbox, moink, betterfed, and others. the meat is a bit more wholesale so the price per pound tends to come out much cheaper than buying from a grocery store, however this again, like Costco, has a higher upfront cost.
i hope this information is helpful! let me know if you have any other questions and i'll do my best to answer them (hopefully with less rambling next time).

This is probably like. A weird thing to be concerned about, but like. The degree of polish and like. Quality in some of the recent entries to the V/H/S franchise sometimes is like… intimidating and feels like. I mean I don’t wanna tell people specifically to be worse at film making or anything, and it’s not like I think anyone broke rules making their entries I don’t think. But I think I mostly mean this to say towards audience members sometimes, ‘cause a lot of V/H/S is kinda *supposed* to be lower budget and experimental in comparison to blockbuster movies or whatever. That’s why the first one has that like “what the fuck?” Aspect to some of the shorts, they kinda feel like student films, because they were like… “gather some people up, get some relatively affordable equipment you can maybe rent, and go film on a rented set or out in the woods which is mostly free”
It feels cheap because it is cheap, and the cheapness makes it have that exact kind of horror vibe it was going for by being VHS. The more polished and high budget and impressive it gets, the less it feels like an experiment in cheapness.
I think there’s a really strong charm to the shorts that feel a little like “film makers create a student film” and I’m not using student film as an insult because I think there’s something really interesting and raw to the like. Sets and characters and costumes put together when you’ve got really really passionate, but broke and unpolished creators? When you’ve got like the cameras and equipment rented from the school and you’re filming it in the weird woods by your old house because you always thought they looked cool and wrote a lot of stories there anyway and now you’re trying to make one of them into a reality and the makeup person might just be your friend who spends too much money at Sephora so everyone voted them to be in charge of makeup and now they’re having a nervous breakdown because they only know how to do their own makeup and they’re looking up tutorials online for blood effects and actually really pulling it off and maybe figuring out something new about themselves.
One of the biggest personal expenses turns out to be a Cricut machine for the prop department but then the fact you don’t have to worry about carpal tunnel taking out your prop and costume department does make up for it eventually. Also someone made you a custom graphic T and you stop grumbling about the budget for a while.
Chances are also probably good you made a deal with the local produce shops to take the cabbage and melons that go bad for reduced price if you’re making a movie with violence, for all the free sound effects available online, it helps to have something live on the day. And head of cabbage or a melon works good on a low budget set.
It has been like two decades since I’ve been anywhere near even a low budget TV/Film set in Canada and I think some of these might be stage tricks instead. But still. There’s so much charm to them??? And it’s why I think a lot of horror fans love low budget horror.
(Also I should note, I was like. A youth working as an extra on a couple filming projects and took independent personal acting/filmmaking classes that taught me about aspects of the industry and tricks of the trade, but I never got super deep into anything. I saw how stuff was done and did some amateur filming projects which is how I learned how to fake things, but I never learned how big budget things were made. Everything I ever learned was cheap corner cutting for people making things on grants or for the passion of arts, not… uh. Millions or hundreds of thousands of dollars. I learned small Canadian Arts Film, not Hollywood Filmmaking. They were… not all encompassing and I am not positioning myself as an expert in anything… just… running my mouth like a know-it-all honestly.)
And like. I think most of V/H/S still accomplishes a lot of it. Praise Ratma.
It’s probably just a couple like… big sensational show stopping shorts by directors who really know how to work with their budgets more than like… any kind of change to the system. And the fact that I like it when it’s kinda messy and sloppy and shows the seams and the actors aren’t super great and the premise feels a little half baked? Not… fully bad because that “actually the cult was fake and the raid was a ploy by us, the sexy lady cops who are actually… big name sexy snuff film peddlers who’ve been profiting from all the sick twisted videos you’ve been watching and we’re gonna make out while killing you” was like. Running a full sprint into a wall, like they almost made it and then they just made a really bafflingly bad decision in the final moments to like. Completely derail that train at the station and I don’t think anyone was satisfied with how that ended.
I don’t think I have the most solid of a point, really, except that a lot of films are very big and polished and expensive lately. And horror is one of those last bastions of “no budget? No problem.” Mindsets. And I kinda love it for that. And I wanna see it continued. I wouldn’t mind it catching on to other genres again because too much of everything has to look and feel and seem high quality making the barrier to entry nearly impossible to pass. But, I hope V/H/S maintains its cheapness because it’s kinda integral to keeping horror accessible. It’s good, it’s fun, it’s experimental, it creates access to new voices.
Yeah going back to the early entries some of it is like “wow that’s pretty gross” but like. There’s a reason most of those characters died horrible deaths. They were shitty garbage trash people on purpose and you were supposed to hate them so when they were brutally murdered you didn’t feel too bad about being like “ohh my got holy shit” and probably doing the mix of laughing and wincing and screaming when the rapist gets his dick literally ripped off and thrown across the room you don’t really feel that terrible about your fear response also being kinda giddy and giggly.
I am overthinking this. Idk. I love this franchise. I hope it lives in cheap gritty gross weird glory forever. Anthology Horror is such a good genre.

(8/4/2023) Everyday Tarot
Tumblr media
I am interested in this deck because it seems that everyone got one, and I want to bond with people 😂 It's super affordable and I am interested to get a mini tarot deck too, so it's a perfect deck to add to my collection.
Tumblr media
The quality is amazing for such a low price. The cards are sturdy and feel smooth to touch. It's not a deck that will be worn after a few uses, despite the cheap price. They also have a golden edge that looks gorgeous.
The image on the cards are minimalistic. It looks very clean and simple but really pleasing, and also full of necessary details. The purple used gives an elegant feel for the deck. The gold used in this deck is absolutely beautiful. It's not yucky muddy yellow and it also not super shiny cheap looking gold. The booklet is super informative and there are easy 3-cards spread suggestions, making sure that you can do a reading with it even when it's your first time. Also, the King of Wands in this deck feels super handsome and idk why (he doesn't even have a face smh 🥴) He makes me understand the heat of the Wands' suit 😃 Overall, I feel that this deck is so worth it.
I bought this deck expecting that the messages will be gentle and motivating, after seeing readings others did with the deck. However, my deck is totally not the case. (I should've known this when I feel the rage in the deck tho 💀) The energy from my deck is masculine, full of Swords energy. He will not sugarcoat things. He tells the facts, even though if it's unpleasant. He will not suggest the person to work things out if it's a "stupid" idea. His message definitely leans more towards logical thinking instead of being motivational. Although it's not the vibe that I expected, I feel that it makes sense because almost all the people in the deck are faceless. Emotions are not depicted in the images. Only necessary information is on them, and this matches the vibe of my deck.
His message will definitely offend someone, but he is not giving those messages out of spite. He does this because he cares about the person and want the best for them. I use this deck to ask questions that I want clear answers. Also, the message from this deck is super easy to read. They are really straightforward. No motivational messages. No deep life lessons. Just necessary information. One time, I was woke up by my sister to do a reading for their friend and I managed to give an on-point reading for her, while being emm... half awake lol 🥴
At last, I want to share that I saw a pale male soldier (?) after doing the deck interview for this deck. His appearance is similar to Viego in LoL. He is a thin, young man with almost platinum blonde hair. He wears a silver armor and has a long sword with him. He feels scary and even intimidating at first, but it seems that he's just sad. He looks very ghostly but I don't feel that he's malicious. I feel like he's the spirit of this deck, so I use he/him pronouns for this deck. I believe that there's spirit in everything, but I've never seen an entity so clearly when I got a tarot deck. It's a special experience. It seems that he's been through some shit before, which explains why his message is so direct. He wants people to get out of suffering asap, even when the most effective path is painful.
I never seen him clearly again after that, but I feel his presence is still here. Sometimes when I miss something during the reading, he will remind me. Also there are so many little things showing that he's here with me when I use the deck. I think him showing himself to me the first time I use the deck is just his way to say hello and introduce himself 🥴

Along with linen sheets and cotton sheets, bamboo sheets are some of the most talked about buys in the bedding-verse. They’re breathable and moisture-wicking like Lululemon joggers but have the buttery-soft feel of silk. And since they’re technically just rayon or lyocell—a semi-synthetic fabric comprised of regenerated bamboo pulp fibers (which also happens to be eco-friendly)—bamboo sheets often feel more luxurious than they cost. Quite frankly, these antimicrobial threads are a bit of a mystery to non-textile experts. (Why is rayon synonymous with viscose and kind of the same thing as lyocell…but not?) But, thanks to brands like Sijo, Cozy Earth, Ettitude, and others, all you need to know is that they make a good night’s sleep great. To prove this, we tested the hype of nine of the internet’s best bamboo sheets. From $300-plus delicacies to $55 underdogs, the following picks all brought different strengths and weaknesses to my mattress. If you need the crisp breathability of linen but love the silky feel of sateen, then bamboo is the way to go. It delivers everything that a bamboo fabric should—silky texture, temperature regulation, etc.—with just a few more cherries on top.In an extremely fake scenario where I had a guest room and picky in-laws coming to visit, these are the sheets that would go on the bed. They’re not too lustrous to offend linen lovers, but also not too matte to disappoint sateen enthusiasts. In short, this set is a luxurious crowd-pleaser that any fan of bamboo sheets can rely on. And, fun fact: The brand’s European Linen Duvet Cover Set and Alternative Down Comforter is my year-round bedding combo. Unlike most of the sets on this list, these Sijo sheets don’t have that glamorous and silky shine or slippery feel. Instead, this set offers a plush texture like cotton sheets, but with a muted shimmer that’s, most importantly, extremely cool to the touch. Don’t get me wrong, your legs will still glide on them like ice skates thanks to the Oeko-Tex-certified bamboo viscose, but these were made for the hot sleeper, the kind of person who likes one reliable sheet set on their bed (and one back up in their closet) all year round. No special occasions, no frills, just a breezy night’s sleep accentuated by some dangerously snuggly threads. The brand is famous for its low price points and extensive five-star reviews. Bedsure’s $55 Cooling Sheet Set, crafted from Oeko-Tex-certified bamboo rayon, has 57,024 Amazon ratings and a 4.4-out-of-5-star score. According to on-site reviews, the set is super soft, cooling, lightweight, and airy, and my experience was comparable. Unfortunately, they were up against high-end sheets priced in the triple digits, so I can’t rave as hard as I do for the others, but for $55 these sheets should be in everyone’s bedding collection. What they lack in GSM and liquid silkiness, they make up for in crisp, cooling fibers and value. They kept me cool the whole night and the pillowcases were particularly lovely to lie on. (TMI: I noticed that my skincare products would lightly stain some of the shinier sheets, so I loved waking up to a clean, chilled pillowcase.) Plus, the lavender color is exactly as pictured on site and has quite a charming sheen to it. I don’t know the exact GSM, but the fabric is thick and heavy, and if I had to compare it to a substance it would be lava. Dramatics aside, Luxome honed in on viscose’s signature smooth texture with this set. There’s not a stitch of coarse, fuzzy feel, even on the tad more matte underside of the top sheet. Sinking into the cool pillowcase was refreshing and gliding my legs across the silky-soft fabric felt like a treat after a long day. Plus, the fitted sheet’s deep pockets have corner bands for extra security. The only downside of these sheets is that they’re extravagant. I say dangerous because the chilled fabric paired with my warm comforter made me not want to get out of bed for about an hour.Best Affordable Bamboo Sheet Set: Bedsure Cooling Sheet SetBedsureBedsure Cooling Sheet SetAccordionItemContainerButtonProsLow price20+ colorwaysBreathableConsA bit thinNot as silky as othersIf you’ve ever hunted for affordable bedding on Amazon, odds are you came across a Bedsure product or two. Overall, this set is a great cost-effective buy that’s worthy of their hype.Best Gift-Worthy Bamboo Sheet Set: Luxome Luxury Sheet SetLuxomeLuxury Sheet SetAccordionItemContainerButtonProsLuxuriousThick and heavy fabricInsanely silkyFitted sheet corner bandsConsA bit over the top/extravagantIf Cozy Earth’s sheets impressed me with their rich threads, then Luxome’s set completely seduced me. I truly haven’t had such a lavish sleep experience as I did with these bamboo viscose sheets. The most apparent difference between the rest of these sheets is the weight. They have an opulent mob-wife aesthetic that probably doesn’t appeal to low-profile folks. Which is why, even if you don’t like a fancy bed, they’re the perfect gift. They’re a delicacy rather than a practical purchase. Much like Sijo’s, it has moisture-wicking properties and keeps things crisp beneath the covers at night. The sheets are also light and airy rather than rich and weighted. Another great buy for a guest room, I can imagine them pleasing all kinds of sleepers thanks to their simplicity and high performance. Find out which set is the best fit for your bed and your budget, below. The Best Bamboo Sheets At A Glance, According to GQBest Bamboo Sheet Set Overall: Quince Bamboo Sheet SetQuinceBamboo Sheet SetAccordionItemContainerButtonProsAffordable priceGreat balance of silky and softCrispConsNot the deepest fitted sheet pocketsQuince is known for its high-quality fabrics fitted with affordable, DTC price tags. This queen bamboo bed sheet set, for example, checks every box and then some for just a little over $100. Its Oeko-Tex-certified viscose glimmers in the light, the sateen weave is silky enough to slip through fingers, and the set keeps cool all night long. Meaning, I’ve yet to be disappointed by Quince’s bedding quality.Best Cooling Bamboo Sheet Set: Sijo DOZ Bamboo Sheet SetSijoDOZ Bamboo Sheet SetAccordionItemContainerButtonProsConsShort return windowNo international shippingCustomers usually run to Sijo for its cooling eucalyptus tencel lyocell collection, but its affordable DOZ bamboo line is definitely one to watch. Discover The Best Barndominium For Your Dream Home
Are you looking for the best barndominium to make your dream home a reality? Barndominiums have become a popular choice for homeowners who want a unique blend of rustic charm and modern functionality. These metal and wood buildings offer an affordable alternative to traditional homes while still providing the space and amenities you need. At DKNR Designs, we specialize in designing barndominiums that suit your personal style and needs. In this article, we will explore why barndominiums are a great option and answer some common questions to help guide your decision-making.
1. What Makes a Barndominium the Best Choice?
The best barndominium is one that offers the right balance of affordability, durability, and design flexibility. With a barndominium, you get a sturdy steel frame combined with the warmth of wood elements, making it an ideal choice for a home or even a workspace. These homes can be easily customized with open floor plans, lofts, and energy-efficient features that will save you money in the long run. Whether you want a small weekend retreat or a spacious family home, barndominiums can be designed to meet your specific needs and budget.
2. How Do Barndominiums Compare to Traditional Homes?
One of the reasons barndominiums are considered the best barndominium choice is their cost-effectiveness. Traditional homes often come with high construction costs, lengthy build times, and ongoing maintenance expenses. In contrast, barndominiums are quicker to build and require less maintenance, thanks to their durable materials. Steel frames and metal roofs are resistant to weathering and pests, which means you won’t have to worry as much about long-term repairs. Additionally, their open-concept layouts give you more flexibility in designing your space.
3. What are the Benefits of a Barndominium?
The benefits of building the best barndominium are numerous:
Cost-Effective: Compared to traditional homes, barndominiums are often more affordable to construct, thanks to the materials and simpler design.
Durable and Low-Maintenance: The steel structure and metal roof ensure long-term durability and minimal upkeep, saving you money over time.
Design Flexibility: Barndominiums can be customized to fit your lifestyle. You can have large open spaces, high ceilings, or even added loft areas for more room.
Energy Efficiency: Proper insulation and energy-efficient features ensure that barndominiums stay comfortable while keeping utility bills low.
4. What’s the Process for Building a Barndominium?
Building the best barndominium is an exciting journey that starts with selecting a design that suits your needs. I'm not autistic but I do have ADHD and everything in this post is so true for both these things. Yes everyone sometimes displays traits that are associated with autism or ADHD but doing those things sometimes but as the OP says it's when they start affecting things in a bigger way.
Sometimes those ways can seem really small, but it's when you put them all together that it makes the bigger picture.
For example you were going out and collected the car key from the place you always put it (because you've managed to develop that coping mechanism over the years) but then you remembered at least two other things you forgot, which meant you took the key with you and now you have lost it because whilst collecting those things you left it in a random place that bears no relation to a) anywhere vaguely sensible to put a key and b) the location of any of the other things you forgot. This is not a minor inconvenience that you can laugh about. It happens nearly everytime you try to leave the house. It's demoralising and shit and makes you feel useless. Then you cry because you're already late (see ADHD and time management) and now you're even later because you can't find the damn key yet again and just know it will be somewhere ridiculous. Now you're extremely stressed. If there are other people around you are probably yelling at them by now. Eventually you find the key on the sofa, or besides the bathroom sink, or on the floor next to the wardrobe or somewhere else daft. You leave the house, but you're stressed, anxious and possibly berating yourself for being so stupid. You swear you won't ever do this again, but you know you will and you don't understand why you can't just stop doing it.
This is only one of the ways your ADHD will make your life difficult and stressful today.
(For the record in case anyone is relating, I solved this problem by buying a Tile, which means I can find my keys by using my phone to make them emit a loud beeping noise. This is expensive and not something everyone can afford but if you can it has actually been life changing for me.)
All this is an example of the type of low support the OP was talking about. Generally I am very high functioning and you wouldn't know I was struggling, but that doesn't mean I don't need support.
Support isn't always another person, sometimes it's gadgets or apps that help to make life easier, sometimes it's buying all your meals from one of those companies where you pick recipes and they deliver all the ingredients already measured out and ready to go because that's the only way you can plan and cook healthy meals, sometimes it's medication or therapy, sometimes it's something else entirely. The point is that support isn't needed because of laziness or a temporary period of stress or overwhelm, it's needed because for people with ADHD and/or autism the brain works differently. That support also sadly often comes at a price that people can't afford and saying "everyone is a bit like that sometimes" is one of the things that stops people being able to access the finanical support they might need in order to access other forms of support they need.
There's so much wrong with "everyone is a little bit autistic"
Yes, allistic people might know a lot of facts about the things they like. Yes, allistic people might get a bit overwhelmed or underwhelmed sometimes. Yes, allistic people might not get an expression sometimes, mostly if it's the first time they hear it.
That doesn't make them autistic.
Those traits only make someone autistic when they become disabling. Because, big shock, autism is a disability. Yeah, even if someone is low support needs, because that doesn't mean they don't need any support at all.
Saying "everyone is a little bit autistic" is like saying "everyone struggles with this, so suck it up, you have no right to need help". Which is just pure ableist bullshit. It denies the fact that autistic people have higher support needs than NTs, no matter where in the autistic spectrum they are. We're not "neurospicy", we're disabled, and denying this fact is denying us the right to get the help we need, we deserve, to have a good life.
(yes, this rant is just because I made the awful decision of listening to "neurospicy (interlude)" by Jax. honestly I'd rather be called a slur than listen to that shit again.)
