I doubt I’m the only one who feels that Morfydd wasn’t given enough to do this season.

I think Louis needs to give that sweet little voice of his a rest. He sounded pretty strained on the live stream and like it was clearly difficult for him to sing a lot of his stuff (usually he’s clear as anything and very on key. Mexico kind of wasn’t). Didn’t spoil it for the fans - god what a show! - but he’s still got a lot of gigs left if you count all the festivals so he must protect his vocals at all costs!
Yeah, I have to agree with you here, anon. My smoking louis and vocals post is almost there!!! and is coming, but for now yeah, I’ll just comment on this.
I think he needs to warm up his vocals more. He has a gentle tone as it is, so to belt it, he needs longer to warm up, similar to me. He was reallyyyyyy off key a lot more than usual, and the muted and blunt bass with the harsh drums and backing vocals being too high on the livestream mix didn’t help. In a live setting, it would’ve sounded fantastic, im sure. Fans said it did. But the mix wasn’t great by any means. he said he was feeling poorly anyway, but he did the show and unfortunately it took more of a toll than he thought it would on his throat. The livestream didn’t hit like a live version would, and we knew that was gonna be the case anyway, but with weaker vocals and a poor mix, it wasn’t the best it could’ve been.
When I saw him in Jan, he was very confident and sure of himself and I think there was really only one minor point where he went off key to a point that it was noticeable for the crowd. I have a music ear so can tell quite easily, but Mexico… he was very off. He’s not a bad singer, far from it, but if his throat is to a point where he’s warmed up and still croaky, he needs to be careful of where he puts the most drive in. Again, a bigger analysis will come when i finally post about his voice and smoking, but he has some bad habits and so much doubt in himself that he can work himself up to a point of a poor performance.
It’s a shame, really. I popped on the livestream on our main TV and my housemate listened to louis for the first time. She’s a lover of music, can be a bit pretentious, but she genuinely just didn’t like it. His style of music is what she’s into, but she kept saying the vocals sounded off, and they just… unfortunately did.
I’ve seeen a few Twitter posts today saying “if you criticise Louis’ voice I will block you, he’s perfect” and he is perfect, but that livestream wouldn’t have gained him any new fans. It’s also like…. The solo harries have grabbed onto clips of that and tore him to shreds which is ridiculous, and I fully encourage the block button to be used to make sure your experience in this fandom is what you want it to be, but he did not have his best performance that night, unfortunately.
It comes down to nerves, and a multitude of other things with a unique voice such as his, but it’s a shame it wasn’t as good as previous performances. A lot of it was VERY good though, don’t get me wrong, but too much of it wavered to the point of flat or sharp, that it wasn’t as enjoyable of a listening experience that it could’ve been.
I’ve watched him grow up and his voice take on a multitude of genres and tones, and I will always adore his voice. His voice is toned much more particularly than Harry and Liam’s, which makes it harder to be a soloist, particularly because he found his voice in a band. He’s fantastic, but it wasn’t his best.
Butttttt he was the first male soloist to perform there, which is fucking sick. I’m so proud of him and he truly did make it. He’s breaking records and fighting to be the best he can be. He just has a couple of things to keep working on.
#proudoflouis :)

I wanted to ask, have you seen Le Comte De Monte-Cristo/The Count Of Monte Cristo (2024)? I just saw it recently and I'm still a little too stunned for coherent thoughts, but it is.....wow. It has this all-in, Capital-R Romantic spirit that I haven't really seen recently except for, well, IWTV. Besides that, it's really hard to articulate what "stands out" about the movie, because everything -- the production design, sound design, performances, etc. hold their weight against each other. I will stop talking now 🤐 because I don't want to oversell it, but anyway, if you haven't seen it, highly recommend!
Unrelated, but this excerpt you posted from the Cruising fic (https://www.tumblr.com/pynkhues/769731068036317184/just-had-to-tell-you-again-you-will-see-the?source=share) is so, so gorgeous, especially this part of the opening paragraph:
"And so Louis wakes to the weight of his lover’s head on his chest and his hand warm and low on his belly, fingers ever so slightly curled like he’d fallen asleep stroking the trail of hair there, traipsing the road to the heavy, holy thing between Louis’ legs. There’s no breath against his skin, because his lover does not breathe, yet his heart beats in a steady, heady waltz with his own, matching each other’s step across the dancefloor where their chests touch."
I feel like the way you expanded this (technically) brief moment throughout several paragraphs gives it so much sensory and emotional weight. Since I first read it when it was posted, it's stuck with me. I'm very excited for the fic!
I haven't, anon! I've seen a little bit floating around about it, and it sounds pretty amazing, but your rec is sealing the deal for me! It looks like it might be coming to the French Film Festival here in February, so I'll definitely try and catch it there. :-)
And ah! Thank you so, so much. The cruising fic was originally going to start with Louis in the pitch meeting and I was going to introduce that idea of him and Lestat in Japan later, but it really wasn't flowing, and that scene just came to me in one burst of writing and felt a lot truer to what the fic's about. To hear that it's resonated so much already, before I've even posted the actual fic, haha, is just really lovely. Thank you again. 💖💖

as excited as i am for the new good omens season, i'm also a little scared to see how they're gonna depict aziraphale's and crowley's relationship. neil himself said that he "wouldn't exclude the ideas that they are ace, or aromantic(, or trans)", and so i do trust him that we'll continue to get some nice and honestly refreshing aro ace representation, but i'm also scared that enough people were loud enough about the show being """queerbaiting""" that the producers (and everyone else involved in this process) carve in and give the people some "typical" gay love. (which, don't get me wrong, is still nice and you do deserve!)
i just hope they don't take aroace aziraphale and crowley from us. it's a love story, a queer one, even without the characters saying "i love you (romantically)" or making out.

Hey! You, you there with the copy of Thirsty Sword Lesbians that you bought to support it when it was in crowdfunding because it has lgbt creators, or that you got in a charity bundle and didn't bother to open because it came with so much other stuff! Yeah you, go open that book and play it now, stop letting it gather dust in your downloads folder and you'll find a legitimately incredible system.

My sort of maybe embarrassing “late to the game” thing I’m learning now is how to tell if oil has gone bad.
I feel like most other foods have obvious visual tells like mold or they end up smelling foul and obviously bad. But I was googling about oil and the internet says “if it smells like crayons, it’s bad” which would not have been my first guess. And I tested it out on my somewhat old sesame oil and was like “by god, I would describe this as smelling like crayons”
Anyway protip if your old oil smells kinda like crayons it’s probably no good 🖍️

okay is she being actually immature or is it just a woman over 30 expressing a human experience you find to be immature.
like yeah. at certain ages... let shit go. im not defending the real immature shit. im not defending the karen you're picturing. i worked in retail i hate those people too. (once somebody got mad at me because she didn't like how our winter window decor was a snowman smoking a pipe. i wish i was joking).
but men at 57 will write books about how 17 year old girls are soooo sexy. they will invent worlds where women have to be naked for "armor reasons." they will write songs that treat women as objects. people rush to defend them. meanwhile a woman at 35 will be like "heartbreak is hard, actually" or "i feel betrayed by a friend" or "i am struggling with something emotionally." immediately people will say stuff like this woman is 35 by the way. by the way this woman is SO OLD to be experiencing this. BY THE WAY.
im 31, almost 32. the other day a poet was blasted online because at her "big age", she had written a poem about feeling unloved. top comment was "this woman is 29 by the way." this woman is too old to still be useful, by the way. she has to behave better . maybe if she was a good wife and mother she could stop existing loudly, and the story could continue on without her. this woman has served her purpose, by the way. she's so cringe, by the way. at 29 - so old! - she still hasn't figured out that her existence should be one of shame.
#what the fuck.#unfortunately by the time i'd switched accounts (from personal to my poetry one)#i couldn't find it :(#this is why u SEND URSELF THE POST. WHICH I KNOW TO DO BUT!!!#i was so mad i just was like “i'm about to tear this commenter in twain” and . lost da post#if u urself are the 29 and got recently flamed by instagram#i love u. come here. write with me. i was about to pick up a sword for u.#i mean a BIGASS sword.#like we all know im a wlw girlie but the way ppl will be like ''id NEVER write sad poetry about a MAN not LOVING me!!!"#..... wowwwww ur so cool. anyway. people often experience emotions regardless of what u consider cringe.#& if ur gonna shame straight/bi women for feeling a certain way. hope u never write about the#weird relationship between u and ur father. or feeling different from ur brother.#or how ur male best friend fucked u over. since it's SO CRINGE. to have ANY feelings caused by a MAN#like be so for real. beloved. nobody is fucking saying this when men do it.#''oh it's cringe to like a woman or feel heartbroken by her.''#controlling women's feelings and actions???? it's more likely than u think.#btw op is nonbinary do NOT be gender essential on this post i'll kill u with my teeth#edit: btw for the person who dm'd me ''when is it misogyny and when is it actually valid''#pretty easy. if a man had done it#would it be cringe? . like if a man sang a sad song about ''she broke my damn heart''?#if he said ''i want to have kids with her'' or something sexually explicit?? like would u even LIKE IT if a male poet had said it?#& if it's like. nah a 35 yr old man being upset about this is cringe too. yeah it's just cringe. that exists. we both know it does.#but .... often i see this ONLY about women. and i can't help but hear like. how back in middle school#we were fed the lie ''girls mature faster.'' ... why do i have to be emotionally regulated? but if a man wrote about the same things?#..... idk . im pretty anti cringe culture to begin with. but this one feels so bad to me . ur still a person past 33.

The reason genuinely is that Goth was created first + had content practically churned out for him, and thus blew up in popularity. He's one of the most popular au kids in general.
I'm not sure if a similar thing may have happened with Shino, but i actually think i see more of raven than her... usually when people draw the afterdeath family outside of just goth the next two they include are Raven and Shino.
It always upsets me when Raven is excluded from Afterdeath family content(or is included but like as a very side character) like why is it always Goth and sometimes Shino/others?? is there something I’m missing?? Why did this fandom just collectively agreed to ignore Raven?? Help??? 😭

I hate how fandom has become "if you haven't created anything in this very specific time frame after the release of the show/movie, everyone will have moved on"
And call me old fashioned, but that's just not me. I sometimes take ages to create and publish. And I will love a show or movie for such a long time (years, babes, years) that I just can't relate to the fast consumerism that's going on.
Because, let's be real, it can get really lonely in a fandom if most have simply moved on to the next shiny thing. Is what's created less worth, just because it was created outside the hype? Why is it such a taboo for this new fandom generation to love an old or "late" fic or art?
It's so tiring and I'm too old for the 30-seconds-hype-tiktok-shit. Just tired. So, so tired.
