*thinks about how the Hero that appears in the middle of the final battle describes himself as being 'all of them'*

*thinks about how all those different Heroes might not have been able to completely integrate themselves into a single individual*

Conclusion: Hero would develop a system (a median system, to be more exact)

Yep. This was the main reason I started drawing different variants for Hero in different chapters and givin' them different names, everyone can go home now /lhj /silly

Anyway, since I already drew all the guys, might as well talk about them in the context of Hero being a system

(note: I've semi-recently found I, myself, am a system, so a lot of this is me processing this stuff and trying to puzzle things out through my blorbo. shout out to Hero for making this discovery a lot easier to digest. that means a lot of what I'm writing here comes from my own experience and perspectives. Also, I'll be calling the different Heroes 'facets', as that represents better what they are to him)

Since they all come from the exact same source (forms through Chapter I), they don't really see themselves as all that separate or different people. The different titles are more nicknames than anything, they're all 'Hero', just– from a slightly different angle and with different roles/priorities. Hero doesn't hear distinct voices in his head like Quiet, he's more like Shifty, in a way, having their feelings and different texture affect his behavior.

Hero is vaguely aware of these different facets, even giving them those titles as a way to organize and understand himself, but doesn't worry too much about it. That's just how he is.

As for the different facets and their role within the system–

– Hero: Host; front-stuck – Technically speaking, his route would be the Stranger one, as that's where he spent the least amount of time in Chapter I and didn't develop any other identity besides 'Hero'. Not necessarily the 'original', and would rather not worry about that lest it triggers another existential crisis, but is definitely the 'main one'. The main face that's always there. Behavior and thought-process can change depending on other facets present.

– Savior: Protector/Persecutor – Formed when his will power was broken and subdued by someone far stronger. Is intent on not letting that happen again. Very headstrong and certain of himself; he has to be, or else their willpower will break again. Mainly appears to help deal with threats much bigger than them. (Fun fact: in warped AU, he and Hero were fused together)

– Champion: Physical Protector – Formed by a desire to fight and persevere against an opponent that can kill you. Very strategy-minded, focused on better ways to get out of a confrontation alive. Will always try to get out of battles with the least amount of injuries to the body possible. Does not like confrontation, but will go through it if it means survival. Appears anytime there's a need to fight and/or survive. Often alongside Savior or Fledgling.

– Liar: Social Protector/Caretaker – Formed when forced to betray someone you previously intended on helping. Despite the title, Liar is very aversed to lying, and despises when others are being dishonest. Why play these weird games that just makes things more difficult? Can't we just be blunt with each other and makes things easier? Appears when the host feels judged or like he's being given an unfair assumption during a social encounter, or later on, when the host is thinkin' back to a certain social situation that didn't go to well. Helps process those leftover feelings and make sure the host is doing well emotionally and socially.

– Fledgling: Protector – Formed when made to feel cornered by a dangerous creature and clawed to death. Similar role to Champion, in theory, though he appears, more broadly, when the host starts feeling cornered in any way. Which doesn't happen solely in physical fights. Very helpful when appearing to deal with a physical threat, not so much when the threat is more emotional or social.

– Dashing: Emotion Holder/Uplifter – Formed from a desire to do nothing but good to someone else. Not as positive and optimistic as his paired voice during The Damsel, but still makes sure the host knows doesn't forget there's always a bright side and some hope to hold on to. Makes sure the host is taking the time to appreciate the things and people he love and that he isn't getting to caught up in worries and anxiety.

– Accomplice: Memory Holder/Cheergiver – Formed when despite your misgivings, you put your trust in someone else. His role is more vague than the others, but is generally there to give support to those outside of the system. Makes the host take a step back and let someone they trust take the reigns, for once.

– Haunted: Caretaker – Formed while spending a good few lifetimes in Nothingness. Not exactly sure what he's supposed to do here, but tries his best to help. Took some pointers from Cold and encourages the host to put feelings aside for now, if only to focus on taking care of the body before diving back into them. The one that knows self-care, and appears when the body desperately needs it.

– Dreamer: Trauma Holder – Formed as you tried to close your eyes and pretend there's no danger just in front of you. This one is Trauma Personified and mainly only appears when the host is triggered. When he appears, it's very difficult for Hero to differentiate reality from delusions, and it feels like he's back in the construct, fighting for his life and sanity.

– Ribbons: ???/Shell – Formed across 4 chapters; as more pieces broke off, very little was left of him. Less of a facet and more a general feeling of Nothingness. That can be useful when the host is feeling too overwhelmed to think. Just kinda makes Hero zone out and shut down when he appears.

Bonus: what it looks like when some of the facets are close to front. Whether or not Hero will shapeshift depends on how long a facet lingers, and how much they're affecting him. Often, he doesn't shapeshift at all despite the many facets that appeared throughout the day

It was either between a possum, ferret, or a great eared nightjar/type of bird, but either way, I had to go with the possum.

I liked the light brown possum a lot personally since I thought it was really cute yk??

OKOK, you may be wondering why I changed Valentino, or Bonsai into a possum.

There are 2 reasons:

OKAY SURE, the concept versions of Valentino is cute...but ever but I didn't like how I drew goats in my style. It could be just that I'm not good at drawing them, but I also didn't like my color pallet I did for him, which was a lot like what Bonsai has color pallet wise, and it fitted Bonsai more than Valentino.

Numero Dos:

ESMERALDA HAS A GOAT SIDE KICK.

OR BETTER YET, WE HAVE ALREADY SEEN IT.

It is basically a repeat of what we have already seen, which I didn't like.

Just because you aged down a goat does not make it ORIGINAL.

Its okay to have Asha have a pet goat in the other rewrites though I don't MIND AT ALL. ITS YOUR AU U DO WHAT EVER, IM JUST MAINLY TALKING ABOUT MY ICK WITH THE MAIN FILM. IT JUST REMINDS ME OF SOMETHING ELSE.

What I'm trying to say is that Valentino feels like a refrence to Huntch Back of Notre Dom, which this movie has a thing with adding stuck out refrences instead of making it subtle. I mean I know it was a 100 year aniversary, just make it more subtle though so people can rewatch it and find refrences they didn't notice first time watching.

Some fun Facts about Bonsai:

Bonsai is actually a little dwarf, and the runt of his family. Asha adopted him when she found out Amaya told Charo (Charo is a lynx btw) to get rid of them all since she thought they were rats (even though they are fucking HUGE) (PLUS IT IS TO EMPATHESE ON THE FACT THAT THEY ARE MISTAKEN FOR RODENTS WHEN THEY AREN'T, THEY ARE APART OF THE MARSUPIALS FAMILY AND THEY GET RID OF RODENTS/EAT THEM)😭

(I might actually make him slightly bigger than how I drew Bonsai, but who knows yk?)

So Asha took the responsibility of taking care of the little Possum, since she didn't want the possum to grow up alone, and so that she can have some company.

IT TOOK A LONG WHILE for Bonsai to warm up and trust Asha, but in the end, he saw her good nature and swore to protect Asha like how Asha protected him from getting eaten from Charo. Which is why he dislikes Star Boy A LOT (mainly because he doesn't trust how this creature can literally transform into anything and doesn't want him to end up being something like Charo 😭)

He is just a little guy that wants to make sure his friend doesn't get hurt by a celestial force.

This is basically how I imagine how they both would meet:

To get this part out of the way, if I end up having Bonsai speak, it would sound like a child, since I DREADED when the goat started...TALKING LIKE A GROWN ASS MAN LIKE NO PLEASE NO. And it would be more adorable yk?? :3

He's from a newer au I haven't talked about yet! Don't feel weird for asking at all!

The whole au is like. Heavily inspired by Cyberpunk 2077 (a guilty pleasure of mine), it could technically be a crossover au, I guess? I dunno, but I'm lazy/like to do stuff for fun, so certain aspects are obviously going to be changed. I'm not totally settled on designs, but I think I'm gonna keep most of the design aspects from this drawing for the "finalized" concepts.

The main plot centers on Casey Jr being put under the care of the turtles by "Mother" soon after having a whole (unwilling) relic insert situation in his brain, leading to former star Lou Jitsu to be revived within his mind!

The issue is that all of the turtles aren't really. The best father figures. None of them even want anything akin to a child, and even if Casey is 19, these guys are Mercs. Outside of their own clubbing and shows they do gigs for cash, including dangerous ones, ESPECIALLY dangerous ones. Having this new guy is like, a total roadblock, especially because Casey still, somehow, despite Night City's clutches and the last group he was pressured into before this, has some morals about him. The only reason they didn't kill him and stage an accident is because Mother promised them financial compensation for caring for him.

So he's stuck with four new "dads" who mostly all hate him or find him annoying, and Lou is not any different, he also finds him naive but he dislikes the turtles as well because he's a jaded old fuck (major hypocrite, too).

While the turtles are baseline all mercenaries, they share some traits between each other instead of leaving it to a "one guy only" job in most cases.

Donnie has the most technical skill, falling mostly under Techie and Net/Edgerunner, he adores tech after all, he also has illegally dabbles in being a ripperdoc, primarily for his brothers.

Mikey is actually the fallback for general medical issues, including those involving backfiring implants. He's only better at this because he's dabbled in researching (and using) tons of remedies, mainly for pain. He's the guy who's helped Donnie when working on inserting implants in the others. He's even stayed awake during his own surgeries to help Donnie during his fuck ups and implants.

Leo, while not extreme netrunner levels, does hold some hacking knowledge, just what he needs to make things a little easier with anything but combat most of the time, as combat is what he enjoys the most within jobs. He also tends to be the one to make their deals with Mother.

Raph is mainly muscle. Not to say he's simple, it's just his main role and main focus, having grown much more protective over the years, often acting as a bodyguard for the others during their own shows (hence he has the least involvement with any of their music). He's the least of the bad influences for Casey, at least directly.

They used to have another member of the group a few years ago, a media. Or a media wannabe, at least.

They normally have some reference to her, even if small, hidden within their shows.

This is all, of course, not tapping into their mystics, which are a bit different in this au as well with how they work. Lets just say Mother allows them special permissions when it comes to mystic usage.

...at least those are some of the basic ideas I've been throwing around in my head for the story, lol. I like to throw ideas at the wall and see what sticks to me. The whole thing is technically a wip still but so are 90% of my aus tbh lmao, this onrs just a lot more wippy because it's mainly a "for fun" au and I also haven't been able to play cyberpunk for myself to brush up on things outside of research and sometimes a man is just... not up for that, especially lately with my attention span, I hope to brush up a little more again sometime soon and maybe even delve into some aspects from the og ttrpg perhaps, I'm not sure yet, though, haha.

Since I haven't drawn anything for almost a month, after a long time I'm back again, but I have to say again that I won't be able to draw so much for the next month due to my obligations. So nothing from requests and Art Trade until I have more free time. Sorry.

But I certainly made a special drawing to thank you for everything you have done for me in this Duck community of ours, that is, the community of fans of Donald Duck, comics, cartoons and video games. And not only on Tumblr, but also on Deviantart, Instagram, Discord, Telegram, Twitter (X) and other networks. And so I have already passed the 5th year and everything has changed since then. Unfortunately, I had a lot of difficulties and I drew very badly at the time, but over time I met many friends who changed my life quite a few times. Now it's time to say thank you, if nothing else than my drawings that I love to draw since I've been on this social network. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to do drawings especially for my friends, as well as for the birthday jubilees of Fethry Duck and Jose Carioca who celebrated their birthdays on August 2 and August 24, respectively, because for my own reasons I didn't have time to do it, which doesn't mean I won't in the future. Certainly if nothing else, I drew my favorite characters from the Duckverse (Donald Duck universe) combining Duck comics, Duck Avenger, Darkwing Duck, Ducktales, Quack Pack, Three Caballeros and Ze Carioca comics, in my own way in my own style. Yes, I drew them wearing modern clothes and outfits as I would imagine in my Quack Pack version, that is, in the Quack Pack AU. And since, as usual, not all the characters that I intended to leave have remained, I will leave them for a special drawing that will follow this one.

Certainly, there are Donald Duck, Jose Ze Carioca, Panchito Pistoles, Daisy Duck, Rosinha Maria Vaz, Drake Mallard, Morgana Macawber, Uno Ducklair (One), Fethry Duck, Gladstone Gander, Gus Goose, Della Duck, Queen Reginella, Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck, April, May and June Duck, Gosalyn Mallard, Phooey Duck, Zico and Zeca Carioca, Dugan Duck, Shamrock Gander, Bolivar the Dog (Donald's pet dog) and Dinkie or Trixie the Cat (Daisy's pet cat) and they are all together together. The children are teenagers, except for Shamrock and Dugan who are pre-teens and the rest are adults. Mostly the kids are holding a banner that says thank you to all of you who follow me and like to look at my drawings and like and reblog. For those who cannot see, it is written like this: "Thanks for following you 1000 followers for following my main blog and thanks for following you 100 followers on my art blog as well as thanks for watching 300 followers on Deviantart and 200 followers on Instagram!"

I definitely thank everyone for this and without your support I wouldn't be doing this, although I do it as a hobby anyway since I really like drawing my favorite characters. I'll just say that I made a mistake with the markers and mislabeled Gosalyn's hand holding Dewey's baseball shirt, my mistake and if anyone asks who is between Louie and Dewey, it's Reginella from Topolino comics (Italian comics) queen of a planet that goes different from Earth and Donald accidentally met her at the bottom of the sea and ended up in her world and fell in love with her. However Scrooge doesn't want to finance his travels so he is forced to break up with her which saddened me so I drew Reginella in front of Donald and Donald is holding her and don't worry Daisy isn't mad at him, given the past. I hope to draw her and other Duck characters in the future. I hope you like this drawing and my thank you note.

Why do you ship Sans x Frisk? As a person who ships them myself, what do you see in them, like about them? Personality traits, situations, tropes etc, anything that comes to mind, what makes you enjoy them and continue to breathe life to them?

Omg ok sooo... When I realized I was already shipping Sans and Frisk, maybe because I love the trope of the funny ironic character who has secrets and the silent protagonist who have a lot of will and power. I also have a soft spot for monster x human interactions, relationships and seeing several AUs with the two of them was what made me like it even more.

I think I liked them visually because the sprites in the game are so cute and the same size and the colors match and so on. I also see Sans more as a teenager and Frisk as well so i almost always draw and write them close. Frisk have a lot of secrets that Sans knows about and vice versa, and both have this drama about fate, about powers that can destroy, judgment and guilt, responsibility and determination i found super interesting.

I absolute love the concept of Frisk being a "more than a simple human" thing, a deity, some powerful force that can be either benevolent or dangerous when in contrast with Sans that's "just a normal boss monster" or something like that. I'm in love with Frisk being a god what just wants to live a normal life, having a normal family and a happy life and find this wish coming true with their monster family, and they find love with that one monster who has kept his eye socket on them all this time, seeing the sweetness and love that they share.

I also love the angst in the forbidden love thing, like, monster and human love being a taboo...

Frisk It's a character that ended up growing in my hand while I was drawing and creating, so to speak. I didn't want to let Frisk become that cliché of cute and lovable, so she/they transformed a little too quickly hehe. Today It's very different and that adorable cover is just a disguise for the real Frisk. Which isn't a terrible evil being either, it's just harder to comprehend and morally gray. They're determined still, to being a better person and changing the order of things and changing fate.

Sans I don't even know where and how to start because he has been my main and if not my most intense and prolonged hyperfocus. I have a lot of fun writing and drawing it in many different ways, with my favorite being this ironic, calm and funny little guy, but who carries a huge weight on his shoulders for the people he loves, a guy who worries too much about simple things and is a bit anxious and uncertain about the future.

Soo... Well i think that's a lot of reasons people like them two. They're two little guys, they go around the time and space, (like sans can teleport in space and frisk teleports in time thats so cool aaaa) them both like papyrus and toriel very much, they two are poker faced deadpan funny faces

I find them fun and even more fun is seeing other talented artists in the community doing their own interpretations of them in such unique ways. I love seeing fans making content for fans and how the characters change drastically in each person's hands, it's beautiful

He absolutely had an “on sight” moment when he first saw him at NRC; and while I think it’s fair to assume that this isn’t Rook’s actual first time seeing him (being such a theatre nerd and all),  seeing him irl probably felt different somehow.

Looking at S!Rook’s reaction is probably pretty nostalgic for P!Rook.

Imagining Lilia dropping his dom thing to gush over his precious son being very cute and suddenly calling him daddy/papa is very funny though, he wouldn’t expect that at all. Despite being all kinds of cursed, for some reason  this is the one moment that Lilia would consider pretty wholesome… which only makes it even more cursed lol

Although to be honest it’s surprisingly difficult to imagine Silver calling Lilia anything other than “oyaji-dono”. Imagine Silver’s first word being not “papa” but “oyaji-dono” instead…

can you tell us about your trolls x su au or tell us the basics of the story?

Sure! There probably won't be a lot of details because there's a lot of things i still need to figure out.

The idea for the au came because i remembered the song drift away and thought "this is so floyd and branch" and then it spiralled from there. None of this is final btw. things can and probably will change because I don't make aus often. 💀 Also don't think too hard about the su part of this au. Im probably only gonna use the basic parts of it and will barely use anything from the show because I'm mostly focusing on the movie of su and not the serie and epilogue.

I currently only have the roles for the main characters so

Branch is Spinel

Floyd is Steven (but he's still the one who makes the promise with branch even though in su that was pink diamond and not steven.)

Clay is Amethyst

Spruce/Bruce is Pearl

And JD is Garnet

I want to add viva, poppy and brandy too but I don't know which characters they would be yet.

So brozone breaks up. JD, spruce and clay leave and before floyd goes he makes the promise with branch, he stays and one day he'll come back for him. Years pass by and floyd still hasn't returned. Branch's colors are becoming duller as the years go by, he starts doubting himself but never fully gives up hope.

Here's where i struggle a bit with the story because i don't have a reason yet why floyd never came back. At some point floyd reunites with the others but idk the reason yet why branch isn't part of that reunion.

Just like in the song drift away i want branch to get a message that shows floyd and the others so that he realises that he's been abandoned and that floyd broke the promise. That's when branch would go grey. (Idk if I'm adding rosiepuff in this au)

So this is when the su plot comes in. Branch comes with the injector. He fights brozone and in the process everyone gets reset except floyd. When they get reset they're back into their roles before brozone broke up. So clay is back to being the funboy, spruce the heartthrob and jd the leader. With branch i think he would act more childlike or innocent? Because im not gonna make an adult act like a baby 💀

So now floyd has to figure out how to turn his brothers back to normal. I think the order of who comes back is gonna be the same as the movie so clay->bruce->branch->JD.

Oh and the others didn't know about the promise. they didn't know that branch stayed in the garden all those years, Floyd never told them.

Have not thought yet how floyd brings them back.

After clay gains his memory back they go back to the injector and try to turn it off when they realise it's harming the land. They make it worse and now the injector is going faster(?) So they realise they NEED branch to get his memory back or else they can't turn it off.

when floyd manages to bring branch's memory back they talk and he's on their side. He removes the injector and everything seems to be going fine. It's then when branch fears he is going to be abandoned again and thinks floyd will reset him again after he removed the injector so they fight. Somewhere during that JD gets his memory back too. I think most of this part from the movie I won't change. So floyd and branch fight one to one. Floyd sings the song "change" maybe? Idk yet. Branch saying that he can't just make everything better just because he sang a song. He tries to continue fighting floyd but he tires himself out so then this scene happens

I am changing the lines though. I think something like "i just want my brothers back." Idk

sketches for @skrimbled 's epic roleswap au, with a little of my own ramblings and ideas :)

If you're unfamiliar, the premise for this au is that,

-Polites takes Odysseus' place. He's the captain, and generally tends to lead with kindness, but his general drawbacks are that he is too trusting and doesn't always think things through.

-Odysseus takes Eurylochus' role as second-in-command. He reminds Polites to be cautious and typically does more of the planning.

-Eurylochus takes Polites' place. He plays a very similar role as he does in canon, being Polites' voice of reason and not letting him jump onto everything headfirst. He dies in the cyclops cave, causing Polites to begin doubting his whole "open arms" thing (he's never had to deal with one of his crew dying before.)

Hopefully I explained that well haha. Anyways, on to the drawings :)

Anything plot-relevant from here on is my own headcanon, btw, and not necessarily canon to the au because it is not mine

here are my designs for the main 3 :)

and them later on in the show (underworld saga and act 2) I really love the designs that give Odysseus Polites' headband after his death, and I wanted to do something similar. So, after Eurylochus dies, Polites replaces his red headband with the navy blue one that Eurylochus kept tied around his arm. Also, Odysseus is getting grey hairs due to stress, and they become WAYYYY more noticable after Eurylochus' death. (Just realized, I forgot Ody's beard in this one 😭)

i had the idea that instead of Athena, in this au Hestia would be Polites' patron goddess. (which is why the clasps on Poli's cloak have little chaste flower designs on them!!) I did two different designs for her. I think that she was pretty upset with him already because of all the things he did in the Trojan War, and she abandons him after the encounter with the cyclops, because the crew didn't give their fallen men a proper burial with the honour they deserved.

and finally here's some assorted sketches. These were made before I created the actual designs, hence the slight differences in the way characters look (specifically Ody, I originally wanted to give him a hairstyle sort of like Trucy from Ace Attorney but decided against it). Also, I forgot to include it in the other drawings, but Polites has a bow. He doesn't start carrying it on him consistently until after their encounter with Poseidon.

Gameboy Who Cried Wolf

This was an oc story in which I was attempting to making a non fandom oc comic. The storyline involved two main characters named Daniel who had a GameBoy for a head and Julias who was a werewolf but had to try and hide it from Daniel and everyone else due to werewolves in this world were hunted to extinction. There was a bunch of other monster types existed n stuff like that. Only made a few artworks of it. Canceled due to lack of motivation and I felt like I was forcing myself to do something I didn't really want to. Storyline was also non-existent and yet confusing.

Moon Base Freddy's au

Can't say a lot on this one's reason for existing other then it was heavily inspired by the song The Fine Print by Stupendium. I drew a few artworks for it in some privated live streams. Basically the whole au was a space capitalist dystopia in which all the employees were owned by the company, oh yeah also the restaurant was a moon base that they lived in. Canceled due to not really having anything to do with Freddys, it just sorta had a Freddys mask on. Also lack of motivation which tends to kill a lot of my ideas.

Floral Flurry

Not much to say on this one either, didn't have much to it either. Was another attempt at making a non fandom project that died very quickly. Had help from @/systemfailuretpd for the designs. The storyline was pretty basic being about a parasite plant that learns empathy from its new host and has to go back and fix what it did with its past host. Canceled due to just not really wanting to work on it, was kinda boring and felt too cutesy and simple despite one of the characters previously being basically a genocidal dictator.

Dr Surus' Experiments

Another oc story, this one was about a Dr Frankienstien type who would bring people (several of my oc's) back to life as basically zombies for fame. The story was mainly about David, Jannette, Stevm and another oc that I can't remember rn. Their whole deal was going to be talking about the ethics of bringing someone back to life and how they can't give consent. It was planned to be my next big thing that I was gonna reveal in the animation I'm still working on. Honestly given my track record I would not have been able to convey the messaging very well. Canceled due to lack of interest and generally loosing motivation to work on it.

Pet Shoppe Cats

Another oc story comic that was meant to be a non fandom project. It stared two main characters named Felix and Chip, Chip was an immortal parental figure to Felix. Both were half self inserts and sorta didn't do much. They worked at a pet shop together as they were both animal hybrids which was mostly a trans allegory but despite that I didn't really focus on that with the story being a slice of life thing about them just working at the pet store with not much else happening. I made a few panels and character sheets but not much. Canceled for pretty obvious reasons, was boring and lacked focus. Art style was also just not fitting to my style and i was just sorta forcing myself to not draw something cutesy which my style cannot break from without lookin really odd. Basically I was trying to make myself do something I can't do.

Aaaaaand that is the end of Part 2 my fellows!

Questions for the fanfic writers about Leon S. Kennedy's lack of background story: How do you deal with it?

I've been haunted by this problem for MONTHS and I needed to spit it out. I feel like Tumblr is a better place for long text and reasoned discussion, and most importantly: fanfic writers.

It's long and I sincerely look forward to your opinions. Even though I only draw Cleon, I didn't mention any ship in this post so I won't add ship-related tags here; if you're gonna list examples based on your ship, please respect each other.

So hear me out:

The best part and the worst part about Leon S. Kennedy is that HE DOESN'T HAVE A BACKGROUND STORY and a CONSISTENT characteristic development...and it's driving me insane.

The benefit of it is that I can shape his past into whoever I want to fit my stories. But it brings out a bigger problem: the development is solely depending on my understanding & knowledge of character design. He's pretty much a blank sheet of paper, except he's extremely famous, and I don't want to stray too far away from the canon info that we've got on him(and get "canceled" for OOC).

(I don't actually write stories into fics, but I DO write short scripts for my art when they are intended to be a series. I guess the prep work to start anything is the same: write it down in words, then expand the idea.)

I love AUs and I'm more interested in sci-fi/fantasy than modern/zombie-apocalypse kinda thing. But when I wanted to dig deep into their backgrounds, to start world-building, there's NOTHING for me. It's so frustrating.

For example, I'm currently working on a Monster Hunter AU based on the RE4R DLC Hero Outfit, which basically is the whole RE gang running around in the woods hunting supernatural creatures. (Not just CAPCOM's MH series but with the general mythical creatures, werewolves .etc)

And they have a Hunter's Guild, different tribes and clans, you know the drill. Since the setting was in a fantasy world, their surnames have caused me great pain from the start.

The easiest one is Redfield. It can be interpreted as "fertile land" or "battleground", and from these I immediately have quite a few visual ideas of how they'd look like, and what they'd do for a living. Chambers, Valentine, and Oliveira are "OK", but the surname Kennedy doesn't fit in ANYWHERE.

(Yes, I googled. It's Irish; but let's be honest, our first impression was a certain American political family.)

It pretty much sums up the most common FANDOM theories of Leon's background info. But all of them are still just, headcanons.

The more I try to dig in, the lack of this crucial element--a character's canon background story--is really blocking me to create things I enjoy. Even though I've been drawing him for almost 50 pieces of fan art, I still don't know what he's actually like. I can only imagine his personality by referencing other fictional characters/actors whom I think share a resemblance. (I have a soft spot for Keanu Reeves, Faramir from TLOR, and Sanji from One Piece. But that's another story for another time.)

Of course, I'm aware of the fact that, instead of spending this huge amount of time to rewrite a fictional character I don't own, I can create my own OCs and build everything from scratch. But that's not the point. I only started playing video games in 2019 when I bought a Nintendo Switch; and my first-ever, modern game experience was Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The whole game-wise fandom and RE series are pretty new to me. But I've been in fandoms of books/movies/TV shows for over a decade. It shocked me that Resident Evil, this world-popular series has almost 30 years of history but non of the main characters have a consistent background that follows through the in-game timeline. There're huge gaps between the games even if we add all of the movies in it. How did that work? How do you get to know them? How do you get attached enough to write your own fan story?

In conclusion, I don't think I like Leon S. Kennedy, cuz he remains a mystery. Instead, I just combine all of the good qualities of other characters I like, create my version of Leon Kennedy, and hopefully pray that when he reappears in a new RE work, I didn't do him wrong.

Tell us more about Tina's role in the western au, i love the ethel cainfication of her character

So I am a big fan of her storyline in qsmp about her being a demon, but feeling a lot of self-hatred for it and believing she needs to be "perfect" to be with qBagi, so I tried translating it for the AU without the whole demon aspect of it since I wanted all of the characters in the main party to be human.

I played with the idea of her having religious trauma and was pretty sold on it since she could see herself as a metaphorical demon that way, but then I read up on a list of example phobias and manias that appear in the Keeper's Rulebook for Call of Cthulhu and found a mania that got me MARRIED to the idea:

Enosimania, also known as the "pathological belief that one has sinned".

The way she joins the party is because of 2 reasons:

Wanting to help Bagi on finding her lost twin brother

Needed something to break the monotony of her life, seeking something new that doesn't involve working in the local saloon or even being in the same village.

Her role in the party, storyline wise, I'm still figuring out (alongside the rest of the party), but I do want her to be a rock of sorts. I feel like her strong belief is what keeps her sane while experiencing the horrors(tm) and thus helps the others do so as well.

It's like, Bagi keeps them in line with her methodical thinking while Tina does so with her emotional thinking (they both have the highest Sanity out of the group, didn't notice this until after I made their character sheets lmao).

As for her own personal journey, I believe she finds it within herself to forgive herself. She will still believe that she is not pure / has sinned, but she'd learn that that doesn't make her lesser than the rest. A big support system for her on this would be Slime since he is the only other religious party member and feels a similar way as she does, though he has a more concrete reason to believe he has sinned (I could talk so much about him too but this is about Tina so another time).

In terms of "why does she feel like she has sinned" it's mainly just the adults around her (which were mainly nuns) chastising her for just being a kid, she really didn't do anything wrong. I'm still building her complete backstory, but that's the key point of it.

Anyways, that's all I can say that is (mostly) set-in-stone for her. Once I develop her more and have more concrete ideas I'll be sure to share !! She's my favorite character to write and draw in this AU alongside Slime so I will definitely have a lot for her once I sit down and give her my full attention.

Yesterday i saw the new movie "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" and i loved it! so i wanted to draw a specie of AU where Zim becomes a specie of "Spider-Man"... Yeah, let me being happy-

[History resume, about his disguise and timelapse below]

His costume consists of a kind of bandana or red cloth with a design of white cobwebs (This highlights his lousy skills creating costumes like in the official series) and a suit/tunic/dress (Depends how you see it) red with blue and purple triangles ; in the center it has the irken logo. The rest of his costume is directly the same uniform that he always wears and used before, the only modification he had was the thick and large insoles on the boots. This is because Zim says that it makes him look taller (The irkens officially, both in the series/comic/movie, interpret that the taller he is, the stronger he is). He also wears completely white contact lenses to "further hide" his identity (something he never managed to begin with but surprisingly no one notices). Even so, reddish tones are slightly noticeable, partly showing the true color of his red eyes. Spider-Irk (Zim) can shoot webs from his hands/wrists to attack, defend, travel or anything else, but decides to use his Pak legs more than his webs.

History: Zim was planning how to get rid of Dib Membrane (his enemy) for once by modifying the DNA of a spider from an unknown planet using irken technology. And it was going quite well, seeing that there were good results in the genetics that were observed in that spider. However, Zim had given the order to Gir (His servant/S.I.R Unit) to keep an eye on the spider, which we all know has not gone as expected from his orders, causing the spider to escape because of Gir. While Zim complained about Gir's disobedience, he looked for the mutant spider, but to Zim's bad luck, that spider was able to go unnoticed and climb from Zim's legs to his back. When the spider got to his back it has bite too close to his Pak, causing it to cause a type of virus in which everything modified by it is transferred to Zim instead of Dib as originally planned. Zim killed the spider but too late, making Zim slowly discover that he has "spider powers". The first suspicion about something negative for him were the scars that formed on his back that had been formed by the bite of the alien spider. In fact, his suit has white lines drawn on the back representing those scars formed that spread the modified DNA. After confirming his theory that he had obtained certain powers, he told Gir and he, half an hour later, had made him a costume inspired by a certain Earth superhero. Zim didn't like it at all and didn't see the point, but he had inadvertently grown to like hiding his identity. Something curious is, one of the reasons for hiding his identity is because it reminds him of the murderers who hide so that no one knows who it was, and after it crossed his mind, Zim began to like the idea of ​​disguising himself. He use these powers for defeat villains only for want being the greatest villain in the Earth, but that makes him a hero without thinking he's a hero (He still thinking is a villain). Note: The costume he has on was not the one Gir made for him. Zim had thrown away that suit because he thought it was irrelevant to anything, but days later he created his suit himself (The one with the reference)

I just LOVE your spitdash, the way you draw them (as much as the rest of your art, it’s amazing❤️‍🩹) And I'm wondering what was their first kiss like? Who took the initiative?

Oh god there are so many possibilities. But one of my fave hcs and 'main' AU for them is that it was actually Rainbow who took initiative.

I love to think Rainbow and Spitfire got along super well and became very close, even with their respective roles and power imbalance within the Wonderbolts. Same interests, same energy. Both appreciate each other's traits and both didn't expect to get along with the other that well.

Spitfire lets down her guard a bit too much and allows herself to be closer to Rainbow than she usually would (not romantically, just friendship-wise. She's still her captain all things considered). Because she didn't meet anyone yet that could match her in energy, adrenaline-seeking and interests. Plus I think she absolutely adores how unhinged and sometimes weird and quirky Rainbow can be.

So regarding the first kiss, I love that Rainbow's initial admiring crush of her celebrity turns into her falling intensely for Spitty, once she gets to know Spitfire more privately. Spitfire doesn't open up to anyone just like that. Her fascination grows, especially when they're alone, and Rainbow starts to sometimes sink into this almost dream-like state where she turns her surrounding off and feels her emotions so intensel. She doesn't really register half of what Spitfire's saying and just takes it all in. And within one of those dream states, she is starting to be completely lost in Spitfire's eyes and smile and then just... goes for it. Her brain is turned off. She solely follows her intense need to kiss her and barely registers what she's doing.

Until she separates and reality immediately crashes back in again. Both shocked. Rainbow a stuttering, apologizing mess, red as a tomato. And Spitfire clearly overwhelmed because she somehow did not see that coming. The kiss could have been anywhere, really. Them lying on the grass, on a cloud. Spending time somewhere and just sitting next to each other. Anything where the other team members aren't there.

I LOVE Rainbow falling victim to her desires and that being the catalyst for their romance starting (or at least the emotional turmoil). She's not good with being patient and holding back. On the other hand, I don't see Spitfire initiating anything because she values the WBs rules too much and wants to be an actual good role model. She isn't just the Wonderbolt's captain, she is the Wonderbolts - in the public eye at least. She represents them the most as their leader. Ethically ambiguous choices aren't her thing (at least in this main AU, there are definitely others where she could initiate).

Lastly I just love an inner struggle with both of them. Spitfire definitely has some feelings for Rainbow already once they kiss - and may be aware of them or not. But she definitely knows she can't date anyone within the team for a bazillion reasons. So she deals not only with her emotions, which now definitely came to surface, but also how to handle the interaction with Rainbow after the kiss.

I don't want to get into it too much (because this is already too long) but I also adore that Spitfire would in turn initiate their second kiss, which I imagine as a lot more passionate than the first, rather cute one. After the embarrassment, shame and guilt of her actions, Rainbow definitely won't go for a second one.

Listen there is so much potential for conflict and pining and I love it so so much....

Caves by Gregory Alan Isakov is one of THE earliest campervan au songs. I discovered it in about June 2020, and immediately wrote a scene for part 9 that has had ripple effects all the way back to part 3. I trust you all remember this part from Chapter 11 of Part 3, when the Doctor looks through the photos that were in the shoebox that Brax gave to her:

This song is all about the Doctor and Koschei's childhood - in fact, the ONLY REASON the cave thing happens in the story is because of this song hahah. But it's also how much things have changed between them - this rift that now exists because of the Doctor's amnesia:

You go ahead There's something I forgot Walk slow and I'll catch up Let's hear the stars do their talking

And also:

Did I hear something break Was that your heart or my heart Like when the Earth shakes Then the silence that follows

The second one in particular is great because of the whole thing with the four taps - which, of course, in campervan au is meant to represent the Doctor's heartbeat and Koschei's together, one after the other. But the first one is almost like, I guess almost post-canon I guess - if these two could actually sit down and talk to each other about everything that happened, everything the Doctor has forgotten, they'd probably be able to reconcile somewhat. But emotions are far too intense for both of them. Koschei, like the Master in the show, has had his sense of identity completely shaken by the Doctor not being defined by him in the same way that he is defined by her. She's everything that he is, and his entire life is defined by her - in many ways literally, since he certainly wouldn't have gone to prison if it hadn't been for her, and even in [redacted] au where that doesn't happen, he still ends up dedicating his entire life to her in other ways. But she doesn't even remember him. (...the silence that follows...)

And then there's this part, which just makes me think of these two kids messing about, causing trouble around Skelmanthorpe, sneaking out to explore caves, and being able to just be with each other, not worrying about all the things that have hurt them and made them who they are, and being simply understood by each other without needing words.

Weave by Foxing is, I think, the first song by Foxing that I heard? Which is wild, because I'm obsessed with their later album (aka Draw Down the Moon, aka the most thoschei album of all time). Oh wait no, actually, I think it was possibly a different song on this same album that was recommended by spotify at the bottom of my anterograde au playlist. I remember that I liked the vibes but it didn't quite fit, so I went to listen to the rest of the album to see if there would be anything more suitable - only to find Weave, the first track, was absolutely perfect:

How have I been stuck here for so long?

In anterograde au, the Doctor can't feel time - she can't form new memories, so every day she wakes up, still thinking that it's late September 2018. She's stuck in that time and can't change that fact, and every day that fact becomes more and more disorientating. The more time that passes, the more jarring and obvious the loss of memory is.

Selling out an old soul for sales I am caught up in the guilt Making a living off of drowning Leaves me one step in the wrong Have I been stuck here for so long?

The other problem with her inability to feel time is her ability to heal. In the main au, the Doctor can't move on from what happened to her as a teenager because she doesn't remember it. In anterograde, she remembers it, but can't remember the healing itself. Koschei has a bit of a breakdown about this, when he realises that now she's always going to be trapped in this place of fear and confusion, and never going to be able to escape it. If you remember how much he wanted to save the Doctor from the analysis of the song Delilah, the idea of him failing to save her as a teenager is bad enough, but in this au, not only did he not save her now, she is now trapped in this place for the rest of her life, and that's like...the worst possible outcome, as far as he's concerned. Not only did he not save her, but he never will be able to save her. He can't fix it.

As it turns out, he's somewhat wrong about this. Pretty sure I said this when I was talking about The Funeral, but the Doctor DOES begin to heal, albeit slowly and albeit without her being consciously aware of it. But the brain remembers in other ways, and it's about two or so years in before someone points out that actually, the Doctor is more relaxed around Koschei that it clicks for him.

Epilogue by The Antlers is a lot haha. I mean, this entire album is a lot, and means so much to campervan au, but this one in particular. I can't actually go too much into this one for the same reasons that I can't pull apart the song Two from the same album, but I'm just going to put these lyrics here and tell you to think about the Doctor's fear of hospitals, the way Koschei so desperately wants to save someone who won't let themselves be saved, the fact that the entire album uses this narrative of a hospice and the relationship between a nurse and a patient as a metaphor for abuse, and how both the Doctor and Koschei are constantly haunted by each other:

Oh, and this bit works for the main au, in the context of Koschei and the Doctor bed-sharing for ages until suddenly they weren't, but really it's for [redacted] because it's painfully accurate:

Yep, it was in Ruth's chapter from Part 6 Chapter 22 (Postscript II) - but I've definitely used this for thoschei too, and I'll bet it's around somewhere in campervan au. It just might be in a scene that's on my excerpts document that never sees the light of day rip. But this album by The Antlers is important to Ruth's backstory too, as well as thoschei's, so the parallel here is very intentional

Okay so the main character--im unsure if I'm gonna change her name or not--is named Sarah Crownes. Which is the self insert that got out of hand and she was a Mary Sue fucking overpowered as hell (she's still overpowered but it's less relevant now) and she's massively fucked up

I killed their parents, Sasha Black (yes she's related to sirius. they are twins. yes it's cringe. shut up. embrace the cringe. maybe.) and Davis Crownes (Hermione's mom's brother. now we don't know if Hermione's mom has siblings. but we also don't even know her fucking name so TECHNICALLY Davis can be canon anyways I digress) on the same day that Skyler was born (December 24, 1997). don't blame me, blame Voldemort. it was Voldemort.

Unfortunately, I fucked over Sarah bc why not. Davis and Sasha made Sarah the primary like. person of their will to take care of Scott and Incoming Baby once she turned 18 (December 18, 1997. born 1979) and like.

Sarah is grieving and also fighting in a fucking war when they die and leave the kids to her but also everyone else on their list is either ALSO FIGHTING IN THE FUCKING WAR or otherwise unfit. Like Remus? bro he's not doing well. also in war. the Weasleys? in war. Paul and Alyssa (OCs)? fighting in war.

like. they're all fucked.

also I made this decision like ages ago when I was less mature and less understanding of world, but Sarah sent Scott to Camp Half Blood and Skyler to Camp Jupiter. The reason they're at separate and not at the same is bc Sarah didn't want Scott to feel absolutely over responsible at all times over Skyler and just. yeah

but I feel like there's gotta be a more seamless way of her to do that than just sending them to camps bc she can't take care of them but I haven't figured that out yet anyways
