MIDNIGHT REALIZATIONS — miyawaki sakura

summary : you had no idea that a midnight meal with sakura would make you think about things. well, no, not entirely.

you didn't know why you were awake that night. well, correction, why you were abruptly awoken. 

perhaps it's due to the soft moonlight illuminating the shape of your face and striking your previously closed eyelids. your phone buzzing nonstop next to you, which you ignored because you knew now was not the time to read the comments, could also be the cause. 

your supposedly peaceful mind wouldn't stop racing with thoughts you couldn't understand; it had to be because you were still sleepy or had too many thoughts to deal with all at once. even a mind reader would feel dizzy if they entered your mind.

you sighed, tossing and turning in your bed, unable to fall back asleep. the absence of something was bothering you so much that it was preventing you from returning to your previously unconscious but peaceful state.

wracking your brain to figure out what was missing, a frown formed on your brow as you came up with no answer, your head suddenly empty due to not knowing how to answer your question.

"shit." you muttered and sprang up into a sitting position, your gaze drawn to the moon, which was occasionally obscured by the swaying curtain.

but then you heard a noise. 

you turned your head to the door, blinking as you listened to the soft shuffling of feet fade away. someone else was awake. you hummed in delight, relieved that you weren't the only one awake this late, and stood up to leave the room, following whoever that was.

despite your drowsiness, you navigated the familiar halls with ease, though your movements were a little slow.

you were standing outside the kitchen before you knew it. kkura unnie, her name rang in your head, but you couldn't say it because you were too preoccupied with watching the older girl move around with familiarity. sakura hummed a song softly under her breath, which gave you comfort.

sakura hummed a song softly under her breath, and you were singing along in no time. your voice was a little too soft, but that didn't stop sakura from hearing you because she could recognize your voice no matter how small or weak it was.

she turned around, an adoring smile on her face as she watched you approach her.

"why are you awake, hm? sakura inquired, looking at you from the corner of her eye as you buried yourself in her side. she loved the warmth you gave off as your arms slithered around her waist, ignoring the harsh and quick beating of her heart.

"i don't know, unnie." you murmured in her shoulder, eyes falling shut.

sakura couldn't decide whether to be relieved that your eyes were closed because you wouldn't notice the red hue covering her face or disappointed because she couldn't see the softness of your gaze whenever you looked at her, which you weren't aware of.

nonetheless, sakura was happy to have you next to her at the moment and continued cooking.

"what are you cooking?" you asked, not wanting to fall asleep there.

"your favorite."

sakura noticed how you lit up and couldn't help but smile at your natural body response. you opened your eyes and looked at the side of her face, a puzzled expression on your face.

"i thought you hated it?"

you noticed the blush on her face this time, and despite your confusion, you ignored it and waited for her response. sakura wanted nothing more than to hide her face in her arms as she felt her face heat up, but she wasn't aware of your gaze on her, which she should be grateful for or else she'd combust right then and there.

the older girl huffed softly. "no, i don't."

you pouted. "you said you hate it."

sakura sighed. "i don't. it's… one of my comfort foods." definitely not because it was yours.

she definitely disliked it before, but seeing your dejected pout every time she rejected it made her feel guilty, so she tried it on her own. it didn't take long for her to fall in love with the food, but not just because of how it tastes, but because every bite reminded her of the way your face lit up when you smelled or saw the food from afar. she'd remember the happy noises you made while eating it, your shoulders bouncing uncontrollably in delight.

although you were relieved to hear that, realization came much sooner than you expected. your arms tightened around her waist, causing the other girl to look at you, her brows raised in confusion. sakura ignored the small gap between your faces, appearing calm on the outside but clearly panicking on the inside.

"you're cooking our comfort food then you need comfort?"

sakura loved the worried expression on your face and chuckled as she reached up to tuck strands of your hair behind your ears. the ghost brush of her fingertips across your skin caused goosebumps to form, your eyes widening slightly as your heart rate increased slightly.

"no, i'm just hungry. i want to eat." sakura smiled gently before turning back to the food.

you couldn't think of a proper response as you tried to calm down your heart, afraid sakura would hear it. you groaned silently and buried yourself back into her side, your grip tighter than before, but sakura didn't mind because she was used to it.

after that confusing reaction on your part, as you tried to figure out why your heart did that, silence enveloped both of you. sakura would check on you every now and then to see if you had fallen asleep, but would continue to cook if she was sure you were still awake.

but your grip on her waist was a clear indication that you were awake, your fingers tugging on the fabric of her top, a habit you developed as you clung to someone, usually sakura.

"y/n?"

you raised your head. "unnie?"

"food is done. help me ready the table?" sakura asked as she reached around you for the plate.

you moved away from her, much to sakura's dismay, which she desperately tried to hide. you both moved silently around the kitchen until you were seated at the table with sakura across from you.

there were no words exchanged between you two, but the joy on your faces was obvious as you dug into the food, while sakura simply watched with a smile of her own, chopsticks not moving due to her daze.

of course, you noticed she was only staring, and when you finally lifted your gaze from your plate, you squinted at her.

sakura arched her brow. "what?"

you didn't respond and reached across the table, your chopsticks stopping just before her lips. "eat."

"but—"

you glared at her, your cheeks puffing, and despite your anger, sakura found the sight in front of her cute. "eat, unnie."

sakura laughed and complied, allowing you to feed her. you watched her chew, making sure she truly loved the food; not because you didn't trust sakura, but because you wanted to see it for yourself.

you got your confirmation when her eyes lit up and she hummed as she finally removed her gaze from you because she had been staring the entire time and the intensity of your gaze was making her face flush for the third time tonight.

"it's good. i got it right this time." sakura commented.

you nodded furiously. "it's so good! probably the best one i had!"

sakura giggled. "now, you're just being dramatic; it took me a few tries to get this dish just right."

you shook your head as you tried to speak with your mouth full, your cheeks puffing up cutely once more, causing sakura to lean over in concern.

"please eat before you speak."

you did as told, bursting with energy from within to argue with sakura on her statement.

"i've never lied to you, unnie! it's really good, i swear! you're amazing!"

sakura smiled shyly, her heart full of your compliments, and reached up to tuck her hair behind her ears, a habit you knew she had whenever she was embarrassed in a good way.

"thank you, y/n."

"mmf mmf mmf!"

"please eat before you speak."

"yes, ma'am!"

if the other girls or anyone else were around, they would notice the love in sakura's eyes whenever she looked at you. it was as clear as day, and even sakura was certain she was obvious, but you somehow missed it.

or perhaps you were aware of it and simply refused to accept it.

"done?" sakura inquired, and you nodded, smiling broadly at her. 

the older girl returned it and stood up, prompting you to do the same.

"go to bed, y/n." she said.

you pouted. "i want to do the dishes."

sakura gave a firm shake of her head. "i'll do it."

you stood there, crossing your arms and staring at sakura as she cleaned up the table. sakura saw the impending tantrum, but simply laughed, patting you on the head as she approached your side of the table.

"just go, okay? i'll do it, it's fine. they're not that many." sakura assured.

your lower lip jutted out even more, trying to get sakura to give in, but as much as she thought you were cute, sakura gave you another firm head shake. you deflated like a balloon losing its air, and she chuckled, one hand reaching up to wipe the mess you made around your lips.

"you're such a baby."

you froze as her fingertips brushed against your skin again, lips ajar as you watched her eyes scan your face. you resisted the urge to gulp or lick your lips, instead curling your hands into a fist and concentrating on slowing the quick pace your heart had decided to set.

your shoulders jumped in surprise as her eyes met yours. sakura noticed but ignored it as she patted both of your cheeks. she smiled, and you weren't expecting it when she stood on tiptoes, closing the gap between your faces. your eyes closed as you felt her lips against your cheek and you gulped as you realized you were disappointed, not because she kissed you, but because of where she kissed you.

but you didn't know why.

the temperature of the kitchen unexpectedly rising, or maybe it was just you and your body, caused your face to flush quickly as if you had eaten the spiciest food ever. you tried to relish the sensation of her soft lips against your cheek, but her lips were gone as quickly as it came.

"good night, y/n."

"g-good night, unnie..."

sakura smiled one last time before leaving to deal with the dirty dishes. you only stood there in stunned silence for a few more seconds before turning around to leave, nearly fleeing in embarrassment when you realized she probably noticed how red you were. sakura did notice it, and she saw you almost sprint upstairs out of the corner of her eye.

sakura sighed. "cute."

you were relieved to return to your room, throwing yourself on the bed and burying yourself in the mattress, wishing it would swallow you whole.

what the hell was that?

it's not like you weren't used to kisses. you were constantly the victim of your members' kisses, particularly yunjin's. you always got kisses from the american from the time you woke up until you went to bed because she enjoys teasing you and the only reaction they get from you is either a scowl when you're not in the mood or a happy grin.

so why? 

when sakura did it, why?

you nearly tore your hair out in frustration and embarrassment, the scene from earlier replaying in your head as if it were an interesting loop you discovered late at night on some app that you would gladly watch again and again. however, the loop was annoying in both good and bad ways this time.

you covered your red face with a pillow, almost screaming, but then remembered that most of your members were sleeping. the thoughts from when you were woken up from a deep sleep had been forgotten, and you were supposed to be at ease now. even after only a short time with sakura, she always managed to bring you the comfort you needed.

maybe it was the absence of something from earlier.

those burdensome thoughts, however, were all replaced by a single thought, supposedly realization, but you still refused to accept it and it hasn't fully loaded in your brain.

you groaned.

So let me start with Suo I don't know if anyone brought this up but after the release of the songs Nii Satorou was listening to Chanti I got goosebumps.

I have said in the past with my friend that Suo did probably come from a rougher environment and was probably childish and did stupid things and bad things which is why he doesn't have one eye and probably went into the minor correction facilities ? (No idea how they are called in English tho but it's where minors are sent for rehab after they do awful things).

Also when the holy trio (Sakura, NIRE and Suo) went to that district to meet with Tsubaki Chan, Suo was the only one knowing what it was and "ok" while Nire was shocked and Sakura oblivious ( luckily or the boy would be a blushing mess).

Which makes me wonder if he worked there in the past or had family members there.

A matter of fact is a teen should act like a teen and Suo has this whole complex about reaching adulthood maybe because in the past the adults failed him and he wants to be better after he himself screwed things up and was childish to the point of going to that facility.

Also Suo diet reminds me a lot of ED.. Mostly anorexia (he does have an ok weight but) people when battling anorexia drink a lot of hot plain water or even tea so the stomach fills up but has almost no calories..

I did try to investigate if there was any part in China and Japan where it could be a religious thing of not eating in front of others but I found nothing.

Now to UMEMIYA (mentions Sakura, Takishi, Hiragii and Kotoha)

In the last chapter we saw how Sakura (and many of us) realized we don't really know umemiya, sure we know the Umemiya he presents himself as, kind, caring, loyal and passionate.

One thing I know is to change something like a school of delinquents that are absolute viles on their way of thinking and acting means that fighting his way to the top to change things was the only way, making Umemiya a monster too. (umemiya girls don't come for me ok I adore him but I am skeptical, he is a green flag ok I am 99 % sure he is a green flag but realistically its the truth he wouldn't be changing things talking, he does say fists are one way of talking so).

Now why did I mention all this?

In the manga when Umemiya recruits Hiragi he says that he needs someone to punch him if he ever gets out of line because Hiragii is very strict but kind. Which makes me wonder what if in the firsts episodes when Hiragii and the others come to Sakuras and Kotohas aid, when he demanded Sakura to not tell Umemiya to know about this.. is it because he is scared of what could happen if Umemiya knew he would lose control? What if it is an underlying hint that Umemiya does have his demons too and that's why he can be in Takishi world. Being that angry fire to protect those he loves but maybe it could be too much at times 🤔

By all means Umemiya fought relentlessly for the town and he is a good person but, a good person can also have their demons because we are human and no one is 100% perfect.. let me hear your thoughts and can DM if too shy to interact in comments or reposts ✨💙

“Shhhuuu…” 

A single pink brow rose on a prominent forehead as Sakura Haruno popped into the cramped common area of her best friend’s apartment. There, glaring with dark eyes down at his phone, was her best friend’s roommate.

His extremely handsome, maybe emotionally constipated, roommate.

“You piece of shit,” the Sasuke Uchiha muttered in clear agitation down at the touch screen. “That’s what I fucking said. Shhjuu. Sju. Seven. Fuck.” His mouth was clearly struggling to form around sounds he wasn’t quite familiar with.

“Uh, Sasuke?” the young man nearly jumped out of his skin, looking up in confusion, something like a blush dusted across his pale cheeks. Sakura tried to hide her giggle behind a weak cough, but the way his mouth twisted into a light frown told her she hadn’t succeeded. “What are you doing?”

His mouth parted as if to tell her, but then quickly clamped shut. He quickly turned his screen off, stuffing the offending object into his pocket as he shifted on the beaten orange couch so that he was mostly facing away from her. “I should be asking you that. You know Naruto isn’t here.”

The girl shrugged off her backpack, letting it plop unceremoniously onto the carpet. “I’m supposed to meet him and Hinata for dinner tonight. He said you were coming so I figured we could walk over to the dining hall together.”

She could see him looking at her out of the corner of his eye, and ignoring it, she stepped closer and sat beside him on the couch. She was tired from her back-to-back calculus class and general chemistry lab, and further ignoring his fetal scowl, she pulled her legs up onto the threadbare cushions and sank back into him. He didn’t verbally protest, but she felt the way his posture stiffened and couldn’t help but smile to herself.

“So, really though, what were you doing?” She closed her eyes and wrapped her arms around her middle, nuzzling a bit into the fabric. Dinner wasn’t for another hour or so, she might as well get comfortable.

“It’s really not important.”

“Then you should have no trouble telling me about it.”

He was silent at her retort, and she knew he was probably kicking himself for opening such an easy avenue for her to ask again. She was starting to think he wouldn’t answer her when she felt him swallow and he answered.

“I’m trying to teach myself Swedish.”

Her green eyes shot open, baffled at the admission. She squirmed around until she was laying back into his lap, looking up into his face. A rose brow lifted again, and when he didn’t elaborate further, she nudged him gently with her elbow.

“Why are you learning Swedish?” for the second time that day a light pink appeared on Sasuke’s cheeks. “Not that there’s like, a problem with it, that’s just so random.”

He rolled his black eyes, and left his gaze fastened to a crack on the ceiling. “I-I…” he sighed and shoveled a hand through his black hair. “It’s embarrassing.” He finally admitted.

Maybe Sakura had been wrong, maybe he wasn’t totally emotionally constipated.

“So? I do embarrassing shit all the time.”

“Right, like showing up to your friend’s apartment when he’s not there to ask a practical stranger to walk you to the dining hall.”

Her smile was dazzling. “Exactly, so you have nothing to be embarrassed about.” She didn’t correct him in that they were, in fact, not strangers and that she knew him more intimately than the back of her hands. He didn’t say anything, and she pouted. “Sa-su-ke,” she held out the individual syllables in a sing-song-y way “Tell me, please?”

She nudged at his side playfully. He didn’t respond but Sakura swore she saw the corner of his mouth lift just a hair.

“Please, please, please? Ahh, Sasuke-kun!” his eyes darted to her widened at the usage of the name she called him when they were in middle school. “Sasuke-kun, I will tickle you until you release this vital information!”

“I’m not ticklish.”

She grinned almost wickedly at him and accepted the challenge. Before he could stop her, she had tumbled off the couch landing on her feet, before straddling him and gently jabbing her fingers into his sides and neck. 

“What are you, seven?” he asked as he tried, and failed, to hold back something similar to laughter as her fingertips grazed a soft and sensitive part of his abdomen, slightly below his navel. “Stop, stop, I told you I’m not ticklish!” he lied before bursting into a fit of laughter as she attacked the spot more thoroughly.

“I’ve found your weakness Sasuke Uchiha!” 

She continued to exploit his soft spots, relishing in the way that his deep laughter seemed to fall so much easier from his throat now that they were far away from his childhood home. His smile was large, crinkling the corners of his eyes, and showing off white teeth. Her heart thrummed against her ribcage, and she knew the smile on her face was just as bright as his was.

Her pink mouth fell into a small circle when he moved quickly, gently tossing her back against the couch and hovering over her. She was dimly aware that his hips were innocently nestled between her knees, and suddenly it was her turn to blush. His fingers feathered over her, and unlike him, she was ticklish nearly everywhere. Her sides, the soft skin of her neck, behind her ears, that same sensitive spot below her navel that mirrored his. She was too busy giggling and laughing at the uncomfortable but not unpleasant sensations. Her breath was clipped, tears springing from the corners of her eyes, before he finally stopped.

“Sakura Haruno.”

“Yes?” she asked meekly, wiping at the tears, and ignoring the ache in her cheeks from laughing so hard.

“Jag älskar dig.”

“What does that mean?”

His smile was small, soft, all the harsh edges of his face were smoothed out and rounded. His black, black eyes were locked onto hers, and he dipped down closer to her, gaze flickering between her eyes and her lips, before settling his mouth on hers.

Sparks crashed across her vision, dazzling, bright, ephemeral. It was tender, the most tender kiss she had ever experienced, just his soft lips on hers, soft black hair brushing along her face, and a soft hand cupping her cheek. Any air she had regained since she lost the game she initiated was gone, exhaled in a lazy sigh into his mouth. 

Before she could press herself closer to him, to open her mouth and ask to play with his tongue, he had pulled back away from her, sitting back on his haunches. His smile had turned into a smirk, and he rested his hands on her knees – which she immediately remembered were settled on either side of his hips, causing her cheeks to flame up again – and he traced lazy circles into the fabric of her skinny jeans. 

“Shikamaru is going to run a Norse mythology D&D campaign.”

The girl swallowed. “Wait, what?”

Sasuke’s smirk grew. “Why I’m learning Swedish. Shikamaru is going to run a Norse mythology-based dungeons and dragons campaign.” He shrugged, still rubbing her knees. “I had a free subscription to a language learning app, and Swedish was the only Nordic language. So, I figured I’d try not to make a total fool of myself.”

“You… you’re learning an entire language so that you can play dungeons and dragons?”

He nodded.

“You’re such a huge fucking nerd!” she said it playfully as he scowled at her, she squeaked when he tickled at her again.

“You said you wouldn’t judge me!”

“No,” she was laughing and out of breath. “I told you there was nothing to be embarrassed about, I did notclaim I wouldn’t judge you.”

Soon his fingers had given up on tickling her but pulled her closer and crashed his mouth against hers again. It was more forceful this time, almost needy in its insistence. “It’s,” he kissed her between each word. “What. You. Implied.” Her hands found their way into his hair, tangling the soft strands in her fingers as he trailed his mouth down her throat.

“What am I going to do with you, you big dork?” she said tenderly, grinning as he paused to look up at her and smile back.

“You’re going to go to dinner with me, and our idiot of a friend.” he kissed the spot on her throat pulsing with her heartbeat. “Then we’ll come back here, and I’ll show you all the other stupid shit I’m an absolute nerd about, and then… then I’m going to kiss you absolutely senseless.”

it’s clear-cut—even people on tiktok have said his kindness is beyond what seems real. personally, i aim to give correct answers, but maybe i’ve just never met someone as genuinely kind as him before

he dealt with the villagers’ hate as the jinchuriki, knowing they wouldn’t like him, and worked hard for their acknowledgement.

“you can lean on my arms as you break my heart” is literally just the same when he said, “will you kill me calmly, sasuke?” LIKE HELL

“it’s no surprise you turned out this way, when they closed their eyes and prayed you would change.”

honestly, it’s kind of difficult to find a song in this playlist that isn’t mentally connected to him (I relate to him so much, it’s painful)—but if I had to pick one that really stands out, it would be this one.

this song portrays the events that happened for him after meeting orochimaru. had he not crossed paths with itachi long after orochimaru’s invitation, he might have pursued an entirely different course of action.

“there are lessons to be learned and consequences for all the stupid things I say” he abandoned the village, parted ways with his friends, and sacrificed everything to gain power because, in his conviction, it was the only path to defeating his brother. his sole purpose in life became to eliminate him.

“I wanna contribute to the chaos, and that is the decicion I have made.” if i were in his position, I might have made the same choices. it’s hard to blame him considering he witnessed the tragic fate of his family and clan, all without knowing the truth behind their deaths.

and he shouldn’t be blamed for holding hatred towards Itachi. like, the fuck you mean, “he should have just asked for an explanation”

haruno sakura

“i don’t care, i just want to be apart.”

this is the foremost thought I have when I think of her. despite my disappointment (blame the author, jk) with how her character was portrayed, it only deepened my attachment for her.

her lack of fighting scene, despite almost three years of training, is what made her battle with Chiyo so meaningful to me.

her desire to change herself because she feels burdensome to her team is highly relatable. unlike most of her friends who possess kekkei genkai abilities, she was born without any power, which makes her situation similar to tenten and lee.

she also yearns to be regarded as an equal member of the team, rather than someone who merely supports from the sidelines. (unfortunately, the author struggled to write her character well, especially as the heroine character.)

hatake kakashi

“feels like we had matching wounds, but mine's still black and bruised, and yours is perfectly fine now. feels like we buried alive something that never died. so, god, it hurt when i found out.”

the loss of obito and rin has left him with severe emotional scars. scars that are still deep and neglected.

although he has made an effort to hide his feelings of regret and guilt over the deaths of his friends, they have persisted to haunt him.

it was a great shock for him to learn that obito, the man he had believed to be dead, had actually been alive during the shinobi war. it brought up old grudges and made him face his resentment for his erstwhile partner and friend.

well... he has remained at the exit thus far because he is the only member of his squad to survive, but he has already gained friends that he will always think of as family.

uchiha itachi

Okay I saw the post where you were raging how people say Sasuke commited genocide, right? I'm gonna trust you saying he didn't actually commit actual genocide, but consider:

Literally no one considers Sasuke as someone who did genocide, EXCEPT for the people who are fully aware he didnt and are just making fun of him (because how else to cope with the trauma than make fun of it)

Sasuke be getting mad about something and Naruto just casually goes "Whoa there, I think the genocides you've already done is enough for ya" and immediately Sasuke's trying to kill him with a "IT WAS ONE TIME! Bro, Sasuke could be mad at what Kakashi did at during his shift and the anger is clearly visible, so what does Kakashi do? Like any reasonable adult, he stands up and yells, "SASUKE NOT AGAIN! WE JUST GOT YOU OUT PRISON FOR THE LAST GENOCIDE!" which Sasuke never wanted to commit it until now.

He was rumoured that he killed an entire village for fun, and not because he accidently knocked someone while walking. The rumours spread so wide that people actively make sure that they don't make him mad. If he is ever alone in a different village and is seen with his neutral face (aka angry face) and people are sweating bullets and try their absolute hardest to cheer him up, sometimes, they even bribe him so he doesn't be upset.

Everytime he talks about this, the three bust out laughing at this.

Boruto looks at Sasuke who looks like he is listening to every emo song ever known for the 14th time in his life and thinks "This is the guy that caused all of those genocides? I don't think he could kill a bird, let alone a guy." Not knowing his criminal history.

yes yes yes i love video editing and such! i’ve been doing things like that for a long time and have even done some semi-professionally! i also shoot video and have dabbled in photography as well. i guess i don’t talk about those things much since i haven’t been doing them for a while haha. i’ve gathered a lot of little hobbies/skills/interests over the years

as for programs, i primarily use adobe premiere pro! i currently have the 2019 version on my laptop because it’s… ahem… unofficial we shall say 😌 i’ve been learning how to p*rate things since i was basically prepubescent.

i’ve recently learned about the sapphire fx plugin and have also used davinci resolve for color correcting/grading in the past. i’ve used adobe after effects a little but honestly i haven’t messed with it in a long time and my current projects seem to do fine in just premiere. years ago i used sony vegas pro and i remember liking it as well! i mostly ended up switching to adobe during college because it flowed better with everything i had going on, but honestly i’m not up to date with all the latest stuff so i don’t know about any newer programs or which ones are “better” now

as for other projects, i have a few suggestions in my inbox that i’m hoping to give a try! i asked for people to drop a character and a song in my inbox a few days ago (i think while you were busy off tumblr) and i did a togame one as requested and the sakura one was just a little brain child of mine lol

however there’s a giyuu one i would like to do and also one for gojo! they both have slightly different tones from the ones i’ve done so far and i’m excited about trying my hand at other styles!

1 year of Encanto: A summary!

I posted many things during this anniversary but I wanted to finish on a summary of this year for me related to Encanto!

November 24th

Off to the cinema with my best friend to watch Encanto, thinking it'll be shit at worst, or correct at best. First thing I posted about it when going out: "I just saw Encanto. It was very cool, with good songs and an old-fashioned but well-done story."

From that point I started listening to the songs everyday.

November 26th

I make my first analysis of the movie on a Discord server about Disney to say Bruno represent well the topic of the movie, what it is about.

December 18th

I realized I may have a crush on Bruno after spending two weeks downloading a lot of pictures and fanarts of him.

November 25th-December 26th

Harassing my best friend from Quebec into watching Encanto.

December 31st

Rewatching Encanto. I held a bit more than 1 month.

January 8th

I discover that fanfic on Wattpad making me discover Bruno x Reader fanfics can be actually be good with an interesting reader.

December-January-February

I slowly become active on Tumblr once again, attracted by Encanto posts. First I only check posts, then I started reblogging, before posting myself some things. My first reblog was about the triplets looking like their age, while my first post was about Bruno's fangirl, to say I already posted 4 chapters of it.

Senbonzakura[千本桜]: "1000<counter> Cherry(blossom)" but the specific use of the phrase senbon[千本] kind of evokes the image of senbontorii[千本鳥居], long corridors of torii gates, although pretty literally also just roadways lined in sakura trees. But the overall vibe is reflected in the bankai with both the corridor of blades and them erupting into the many cherryblossoms. The bankai's Kageyoshi[景厳] adds "Serious(and kind of implicitly majestic)", and "Scene" as in like a vista.

Senkei[殲景] is just "Massacre Scene"

all kind of riff off this theme of hanami:cherryblossom viewing,

And then somewhat conspicuously unrelated is that Yoshitsune Senbon Zakura[義経千本桜] is a famous kabuki play, but it doesn't seem to have any relation. To be fair the phrase Senbonzakura isn't terribly unusual or specific. It's the name of a variety of bands and songs.

Suzumushi[清虫] is written “Clear”/“Pure”+“Bug,” and references a “clear chime” as in the sound of a ringing bell, something generally associated with exorcism. But also it's a pun on suzumushi[鈴虫] lit. "bell bug" and the name of the Japanese bell cricket. Oh i guess worth noting is the release call is nake[鳴け] meaning "chirp/cry/ring/echo" which Viz erroneously translated as "howl." (It is a homophone with nake[啼け] which Urahara uses for Benihime, which means "to make sound(of an animal)/cry/whine/sing​")

He's got an attack called

Nishiki Benihiko[二式紅飛蝗]: "2(nd) Style/Form: Crimson LocustSwarm" which sets the precedent for his bankai being prefaced as

Tsuishiki[終式]: "End Style/Form" which is odd, as no other bankai uses such an epithet. Then adds Enma Kourogi[閻魔蟋蟀], Enma/Yama[閻魔] being the buddhist king of hell who judges the dead as they enter into the next life, and koorogi[蟋蟀]: "cricket." (Although together also refer to a specific species of cricket just called the "enma field cricket" or "oriental garden cricket."​)

This all then plays into his resurreccion having the preface,

Hyakkushiki[百式]: "100(th) style/form." And then the kanji [狂枷蟋蟀]: "Insane Shackle Cricket" using the same [蟋蟀]:"cricket" as the bankai

and the Spanish Grillar Grillo:"singing/chirping cricket" or at last I assume that's how it's meant to be understood since I'm pretty certain that's not grammatically correct.

It's a shame, I really like the implication that Suzumushi just has 99 forms/styles it can use, ever saw the first and last, with his resurreccion being a secret 100th style.

Anyway then there's the fact that the bankai's 10 metal rings with kanji that hold his big bubble arena in place refer to the kusouzu[九相図]: "The 9 Phase/Aspect Diagrams" aka "Nine stages of decay," a buddhist mnemonic used to make peace with the ignobility of death. And the same theme is referenced again in his resurreccion attack, Los Nueves Aspectos[九相輪殺]: "Nine Phase/Aspect Ring Death" but where [九相] refers to the nine aspects, and [相輪] refers to what's called a sourin, the top part of a pagoda, which does in fact have 9 metal rings and bells hanging off them. The Spanish is "The Nine Aspects."

And finally Isshin's extremely lame derivative Engetsu[剡月]: "sharp-pointed moon" which is a pun on engetsu[偃月] the word for a "cresent moon." Incidentally engetsu-tou[偃月刀]: "CresentMoon Sword" is the Japanese word for "Scimitar" although it also refers to an entirely different curved blade weapon, the Chinese Guandao. I assume that's the reference anyway since a crescent moon is a shape assocaited with sharpness, even though Engetsu is just a regular katana and not a scimitar or more crescemt shaped blade.

It could also be refering to engetsu[圓月]: "Fullmoon"... (I have no idea why two different moon phases are homonyms. That feels like that can't be practical...) Along with the release call, moero[燃えろ]: "burn/blaze/glow" it's also a sort of wordplay with engetsu[炎月]: "flame/blaze moon." Frankly I feel like a bright fullmoon would make more sense for a fire power sword, but I guess the sharp thing was supposed to tie more into Zangetsu[斬月]: "beheading moon".

NOTE:

Most of these are the same as an officially-released album track, so I will only be uploading unique ones at the time of upload. This may still include version-specific OSTs which appear in version trailers but are only a segment of it. That being said, I’ve also noticed that a lot of them do sound a little different from the final releases - either an unfinished or modified version (I wouldn’t be surprised if they compress it a specific way for their preview pages).

I am starting this in the middle of version 3.6 - from here on out I will be uploading the tracks as soon as the web event appears (if it’s not on an existing album), so there may be duplicates in the future since there is usually a lot of time between album releases and when we actually first get to hear the song. For anything older that has already had its track released, I will simply link to the official track. A lot of this is just based on my own familiarity with Genshin’s OST, so do let me know if something needs to be corrected!
