Summary: After the battle of Soddon Hill and finding his surprise child, Geralt goes to Kaer Morhen to spend the winter and protect his company. What a surprise is he going to get when he finds he is not the only witcher who picked up strays and brought them to safety from the on-going war. Or that said person is so being so praised and spoilt by his brothers. He does care. He is happy for him. He is. ... ... Hm.
Notes: Hey! This is my first Witcher fic, so please be nice! I never had enough money to buy the games (I still don't) but I really got into the fandom when I watched the series! I re-visited it a few days ago and I couldn't get this idea out of my head! I doubt I will write another fic, not until I get enough to buy the book or the game, (probably the book, tho) or until the next season comes out. Sorry if this is too OCC, I tried to do my best!

The scenery had turned into an icy and snowy deadland in what seemed like a blink of an eye. The travellers, a man with hair as white as the snow surrounding them, a girl who had been through hell and was still standing and two mages, one hurt and the other healing them. They had all come from a worse place though.
Sodden Hill had become a graveyard after the battle between Nilfgard and the mages. The reinforcements of king Foltest were keeping the attacking kingdom at bay, but it wouldn't last for long. People would say it was destiny that Geralt of Rivia, the White Wolf, was near to help the last surviving mages of the battle, but he only called it luck. Whether it was good or bad was yet to be decided. He had only been travelling with his Surprise child for less than 48hs when he came across a middle-aged woman and the mage from Temeria carrying an unconscious Yennifer.
Triss was wounded too, but it wasn't fatal, and while the two looked as if they were seconds from dropping to the ground, they were still holding on. The middle-aged woman, Tissaia de Vries, explained everything that was going on once they were on safer grounds.
She told him about the war and the decision The Chapter had come upon, along with their little resistance and then asked for him to take the two younger mages with him. She had clearly noticed the girl with him was Princess Cirila, the lioness cub of Cintra, and that he was protecting her. He accepted, but only because he didn't have a choice. Even if Yennifer had left him, the two were still bonded thanks to the Djinn and Triss had saved his life back on Temeria. He owned them both.
The rectress didn't join them. (Not that he would let her). She said something about drawing the attention away from her pupils. Since they were more powerful and younger than her, and therefore played a more important role in the war than her, she would sacrifice being followed and found (and whatever came after that) to give them more time to escape the war. Geralt suspected there was more to it than that, but it didn't seem to be his place to say that.
After farewells' were said between Triss and the rectress (and the unconscious Yennifer), the four made their way towards Kaer Morhen. Yennifer rode on top of Roach, Ciri and Tress by her side and him at the front, leading and protecting at the same time. Yennifer didn't wake up until a week after they set off and it took them another two weeks to arrive at witcher school.
When she woke up, both Tris and him had to physically stop her from going back to Tissaia's side. They were setting camp in the woods when she sat up from the floor with a start. Ciri, who was closest to her, got quite a fright and a scratch, when she tried to calm the sorceress. They somehow got her soothed enough to listen to them and explain the plan for the time being. The kingdoms of the country that weren't below in Nilfgards' reign were holding their attack back, so until she and Triss were ready to join the battlefield once more, they were to stay with the witcher. He would take them to Kaer Morhen, a place filled with witcher during the winter, a place which Nilfgard would have to be crazy to attack. Once the two mages were fine, they were free to leave. Cirila would stay with him up in the north until there wasn't a bounty on her head anymore or she could protect herself, whichever happened first.
They continued their journey the next day, although the air around them a little tense. The first-week Ciri and Triss had talked lightly about trivial things, but with Yen now awake things had turned awkward. It surprised Geralt that the purple-eyed woman was not angry at him, or at least not showing it. After the disastrous Dragon hunt, he imagined the next time they saw each other, she would try to slit his throat. But, alas, she still hadn't tried. Maybe she was too drained to be bothered by it.
He was too in some way. Finding the little princess had drained in ways he never experienced before, and the silence of the journey was weighing on him, strangely. It had never bothered him before, the quiet. But even when the tension between the three women dissipated and the three chattered normally, the feeling was still there. As if something was missing. He didn't understand it. When Jaskier talked and composed whenever they had travelled, he never felt this way.
As they made their way towards his home, the three females got better acquainted. They would trade who would ride on Roach, though Ciri spent more time there. She was still gaining her strength back and this way, they moved quickly. The two mages didn't seem to mind, as they told her stories and fables of magic and spells, the girl opened up to them, even confessing that she believes to have magic of her own. Geralt already suspected it and was planning to bring it up with her once they were in Kaer Morhen, but Yen and Triss beat him to it. They taught her how to hide it and control it so that it didn't explode, but nothing more. Magic lessons were hard when you were on the run.
Unfortunately, when the three ran out of things about themselves to talk about they moved on to talk about him. Ciri was naturally curious about the man who was now her... protector? (Yes, let's go with that. Protector) And her curiosity wasn't satisfied with his grunts and one-word responses, so when he proved fruitless, she asked the two mages. Who was too damn happy about answering her, even if it was the correct answer or not. Besides, he was less than 2 feet away from them, they could at least pretend he was there, right?
By the time they arrived at the snow-covered mountains, he was all too happy to end their little journey.
"Well, look who it is, Geralt of Rivia," Vesemir greeted him with an embrace and a few strong pats in his back when they reached the gate to the fortress. "You know, for a loner, you have the most company this year," the old man jokes as he turns to his companions.
Vesemir welcomes the three females and they go inside. They make a small stop at the stables where they leave Roach before Vesemir shows them to their rooms. Geralt can see they are not the first ones to arrive, other horses have already been left there.
"So, is this where you were born?" Ciri asks as they walk through the old stone hallways.
"No," Geralt grunts. "This is where I was taught how to be a witcher,"
"Am I going to be taught how to be a witcher too?"
"No," he responds too fast. "You'll learn how to protect yourself, in case you need to," he says sternly. He should be more considerate with her, after everything that's been going on, but he can't help it.
"Don't worry, little one," Vesemir tells her. "You'll probably be able to do anything a witcher can. And with good timing, business has never been better for witchers!"
"Hmmm?"
"But I people hate witchers?" Triss asks as confused as the rest of them.
"Well, yes, they do," Vesemir agrees. "But compared to the last century, these two last decades have been wonderful for us. Ever since the great Epic Hymns about The White Wolf, The Butcher of Blaviken, Geralt of Rivia have been going around more and more people are requesting our services. Your tales are painting us in a better light. Your little bard is making our lives easier, you should really thank that little dandelion of yours," Vesemir tells them.
"Hmmm." if only he could. He hadn't seen or heard about Jaskier since the dragon fiasco. He had been busy, though. And after everything that had happened and had been said, he doubted his the bard would be happy to see him.
"Alright, this is your room ladies, right next to Geralt's," they finally arrive. "I will see if we have anything for you to wear and I'll make sure one of the boys brings you another bed. That thing might be big, but I doubt you three would be able to sleep comfortably," Vesemir tells them as they enter the chambers.
"Oh, no, please, that won't be necessary!" Triss tells the older man.
"We won't be here long," Yenn adds after Triss.
"Nonsense! It might not be as fancy here as a royal court or some other bullshit like that, but you are guest here! If my boys bring somebody here, they are special and they will be treated as they deserve!" the man declares and then turns to the younger witcher. "Supper will be at 10, you might want to take a bath before that," he chuckles and leaves, patting his shoulder a few times.

Geralt knocks on the door next to his chambers when it's time for dinner. Triss opens the door, letting him in. She is dressed in a simple, yet nice green dress. Probably made it herself. He doubted a place full of witchers owned something like that. When he comes inside, he sees Yen (also in a dress made by herself) braiding Ciri's hair in front of a mirror in the corner of the room. The princess, unlike the two mages, was wearing the clothes they used to give the younger witchers.
"Time for dinner," he announces.
"We are almost done, be a little more patient," Yenn tells him without taking her eyes off her hair.
"Hmmm,"
"What could you be so excited about? Having dinner with more brooding tall men?" Triss chuckles at her comment as Ciri smiles humoured.
"Hmmm,"
Yennifer sighs tiredly and a few seconds later puts the hair down. "Perfect," she compliments and the three start going towards the dining hall.
Geralt, while the three mages are blissfully unaware, has been losing his mind. Coming to Kaer Morhen is supposed to be a season for him to relax and be with his brothers, but ever since he arrived he keeps getting whiffs of nostalgia. Of honey mixed with cedarwood. Of cheap fragrance and dirt. Of the sweet aroma of dandelions. It brings shivers down his spine and it makes his chest ache. It reminds him of pubs and inns and life on the Path. Of a constant melody, right by his side, commenting and praising and joking, but most importantly, never stopping.
He must be losing his mind if a place like this reminds him of the bard. The only time he had ever been here was through his words. When his brothers asked him about Toss a coin and the bard who was telling the epic stories of his adventures. He had never brought Jaskiel here. At the moment, it seemed wrong to bring him to the cold and bitter snow of Kaer Morhen. So why was he smelling the bard in here? As if he was there? As if Geralt had never pushed him away.
"Do you hear that?" Ciri interrupts his inner musing. It makes everybody stop and listen.
On the halls of what should be a cold mountain, the soft sound of strings and music catches their attention. They all rush to the source. Or Geralt rushes as the other three follow him. Because he knew that music. He had heard it be sung in pubs, heard as it manifested in a melody, heard it born from a humming. As he opens the door to the dining hall, the cold stone hallway gets filled with light and warmth. The slow singing that had once been a slight whisper, is now in full blast as his brothers, probably drunk out of their minds, sing along. Or at least try, as the only man with an instrument and tuned voice strouts on top of one of the table, strumming his lute with careful fingers as if they danced around the stings.

hyunjin x (y/n) - oneshot [part 1/8]
You checked your phone one last time as you turned around the corner. the time read "11:45 am" and you were about 5 minutes late.
 "she's going to kill me", you thought to yourself as you put your phone back into your handbag and ran a hand through your styled hair. when your mother messaged you about having a meeting today, it really threw you off as you had planned to have two separate meetings with the company's lawyers before taking a break at your favourite café - but obviously, that was now out of the question, as you had to swap your comfy boots for your medium-sized black heels, a long dark green dress that almost completely outlined your body perfectly but at the same time left enough space for modesty and a black blazer that you left lying on top of your handbag, which you held by the handles
 as you came closer to the room, you practised your smile. the message you got in the morning was of course, like most messages from your mother, vague as fuck. "meeting in room 45, the fourth floor" this could've meant anything - a meeting with an important shareholder, a potential future Commander or Chief, or even an upset client
 you were finally there. the infamous Room 45, of the 4th floor. this room had always been, and always would be as far as you were concerned, one of the only rooms that were reserved only for family members to book - so basically, you and your mother.
 you placed a hand on the glass of the door and pushed it open, giving a bright smile to the guests - a man and a woman, before lowering your head to greet them and doing the same towards your mother, who was giving you a cheeky smile beneath her thick layers of lipstick
 'Good morning, my name is (y/n)(l/n). it's an honour to meet you two today' you coolly placed your bag down next to your seat before holding your hands out to greet the two of them. from your first initial scan of them, the woman was older than your mother but still relatively young, and the man with her was either her son or nephew and looked to be around your age or a few years younger
 'it's very nice to meet you too, (y/n) - ah' the lady replied with a warm smile, throwing you off slightly because of how she warmed up to you so quickly. you shook her hand with both hands, and after she let go, turned to the man, and held just one hand out to him
 'nice to meet you too Mr...'
 'Hyunjin' he said with a strict face as he shook your hand back. you forced yourself to not make any "extra" facial reaction when realising how soft his hand felt and how gentle his handshake was, and how much it contrasted with his strict face. he held onto your hand for a few seconds, but for you, it was one or two seconds too long, so you curved the ends of your fingers slightly inwards and let your nails touch his skin. 
 just as you wanted and expected, he let go of your hand. you then sat down and let your mother fill you in on the reason why this meeting was happening
 'so, (y/n) - ah,' your mother started off, 'this is Mrs Hwang, and her son Hwang Hyunjin. I've known Mrs Hwang for a few years now, thanks to some overlapping business conferences. she and her son own a company like our own!'
 'that's amazing, Mrs Hwang. I always find it very inspiring when I see women of any age in charge and responsible for companies like ours' you mentioned in a low voice, catching her eye as you said this. you smiled brightly as she smiled too, and you could've sworn from the corner of your eye, that you saw the Hyunjin dude roll his eyes
 'thank you (y/n)' you winced on the inside when she added the little touch of affection at the end of your name. it wasn't something you were used to, at all. 
 'but (y/n), as you know what issues we're facing right now...' you snapped back and paid attention to your mother, 'I had a talk with Mrs Hwang and her son here, and we both thought of something...'
 'Which is? oh, are we going to go into a merger? or a collaboration?'
 you turned slightly in your chair to face your mother, scanning her face for any clues on what she was about to say. no number of skills that you built in your mind over the years would've prepared you for the words that were about to hit your ears...
 'We were hoping you and Hyunjin would be willing...to get married, as part of a merger'
 your mouth dropped open before you could even force yourself to control your facial expressions. you glanced over at the two people sitting opposite you - Hyunjin had the same facial expression he had when you walked in, a strict and blank one, whilst his mother smiled at you, just a little less brightly than when you complimented her
 'I know it's a big thing to ask for' Mrs Hwang started to say. it hit you at that point why she was being so affectionate in the way she spoke to you, despite this being the first time you both had met, 'it's probably not what you had in mind at all coming here today. naturally, as a woman, I would never want you to be stripped of your right for something so beautiful like your marriage, but I've known your mother for years now, and I need to let you know that I would never come to this sort of plan with anyone else but her'
 'if you think about it this way, us getting married will benefit a lot of people. so, let's not be selfish here, and just do it' Hyunjin suddenly exclaimed. you immediately turned your head in his direction and glared into his large eyes. 
 as if his mother could read what you were trying to express through your eyes, she reached her arm out and hit Hyunjin on the arm, causing him to break the staring contest and wince in pain from the hit
 'Hyunjin-ah, don't interrupt me' she muttered in a low but audible voice in his direction. 'anyways, (y/n) - ah' she addressed you again. 'I know it's a big deal to ask of you. but as my son just put it, albeit it being very unprofessional, the fact that a lot of people will benefit from this...merger, if you call it, is true.'
 '(y/n)' you felt your mother's hand go on top of yours. her hand was warm and small, fitting cutely over your freezing cold large ones. 'I know it's a big decision, but you know I would never ask this of you if it weren't for current times. right?'
 you lowered your head slightly and glanced at hers and your hand on top of your right thigh, your heartbeat going quicker than the thoughts in your head. your mind was full of so many questions and excuses that ultimately, you were speechless
 'I...Mr Hyunjin' you looked up and gulped silently as you looked directly into his eyes once again, this time not in anger but in determination for the truth - something you were good at scanning for, regardless of how flustered you are.
 'Yes?'
 'are you okay with, all of this?'
 'well - ' he made eye contact with his mother, then sat up and continued speaking, 'I am okay with this. it was as shocking to me as it was to you, but since I only found out yesterday, I've already had a whole day to understand and come to terms with it. so, I will marry you'
 '(y/n), if you say no, then it's okay...we will find another way' you felt your mother's hand on you squeeze your hand a little bit. 'you know that your opinion to me matters more than anything - especially the company'
 now it was your turn to smile. 'mother, you know that the company matters a lot more than anything right now. while I can't, ' you sighed, 'while I can't believe that I'll have to get married right now, you and I both know that I will do what I have to do'
 '(y/n) - ah, that's amazing to hear' Mrs Hwang said
 'However,' you placed your other hand on top of your mother's and lightly pulled it off. 'I do have a few conditions'
 'first of all, there's no way I can get married straight away, especially to a stranger. I need at least a week in order to make a final decision. the second condition is that if at the end of the time period, I really can't come to terms with the idea of marrying Mr Hyunjin, then the marriage cannot happen, but, if possible I'd like to propose another way our companies can work together to deal with the issues we have. which comes to the third condition - if this marriage really doesn't happen, I really don't want any friendships to be ruined because of it' you emphasised the last one in particular towards your mother, since out of the four of you, only she and Mrs Hwang were the ones who actually had a friendship.
 'picky, aren't you?' You heard Hyunjin mutter, but you chose to ignore him. This was, after all, your speciality. Business 
 'this marriage, if it is to happen, is going to happen because of business purposes. To help strengthen the merger and make any current issues disappear. So, I feel like it is necessary we get through all the details now, so if anyone wants to back out,' you glanced in Hyunjin' s direction for a second before looking back at his mother, 'then we can figure out other solutions for our problems' 
 'will you need a contract to be signed too?' Mrs Hwang asked. Your feeling of anger immediately dropped when hearing the genuine concern in her voice - of course, you were angry at the fact that you had to get married and spend time with the loser called Hyunjin, but when his mother spoke, you realised that this really was as big of a deal to the mothers as it was for you and him
 'no, I don't think we should go that far' you replied to her, in a much more calmed down voice. "I'll save the anger for him" you mentally told yourself as the mothers began chatting excitedly at the idea of having a brand-new relationship between them: in-laws 
 As the two of them spoke and breezed through things like where yours and Hyunjin's week would be spent together, where the wedding would be, who would get invited etc, you couldn't help but stare at him. 
 Hwang Hyunjin. Such a regal name, but at the same time, it was fitting of him. You couldn't deny that he was good looking, because you could always get angry at someone but never become delusional. His face completely fit the Prince of your dreams that you would've had at age 10 or maybe a little more, regardless of how his black hair was growing into a mullet whilst the price of your dreams had always had undercuts. 
 Whilst you stared at him, he looked away from the ground and directly into your eyes. Naturally, you would have and should have looked away, but there was someone in his eyes that forced you to keep on looking - something, maybe your gut feeling, was telling you that he was hiding a lot more than he revealed...he might be "okay" with the idea of getting married... But being "okay" is not all he was
 'Is there something on my face?' he suddenly asked out loud, throwing you off the tracks of your thoughts and back into reality. You gulped, realising that both your mothers had stopped speaking as well in order to see what the conversation between the two of you was going to be like 
 'No, but I feel like I've met you somewhere before today' you blurted out without thinking 
 Hyunjin smiled weakly, with to your surprise, making a little dimple pop out of nowhere on his cheek. 'I was wondering if you'd realise today or by the time we'd get married. I met you at the wedding, didn't I?' 
 'the wedding?' 
 'you said you remembered. Bang Chan's wedding with - '
 Your eyes widened on their own as you realised what he was talking about. Despite the meeting him before thing, was fake as soon as you heard "Bang Chan" you knew that you actually HAD met him before. After all, there aren't many people you know that had a unique name like Bang Chan's
 'we met at the wedding, didn't we?' 
 'yes... That's what I just told you' 
 'can someone explain to us old ladies too?' your mother asked
 'mother, remember when I went to Maria's wedding and I told you some jerk - I mean, some guy, jumped and took her bouquet when it was coming in my direction?' 
 'oh my, was that Hyunjin?!' 
 You nodded with a little pout on your lips - but to your disappointment, instead of getting his mum to hit him again and have your mother console you over him stealing the bouquet that was clearly intended for you - the mothers began squealing like little children, exclaiming repeatedly about how it was "destiny" for the two of you to meet beforehand and the bouquet was a sign for yours and his future... Together
 ''I should've pretended to not know'' you thought to yourself as Hyunjin smirked at you. this little bitch not only stole your only shot at getting married happily for the first time - he stole the bouquet you and your best friend Maria spent a full 2 hours organising together!
 'ah, (y/n) - ah, you made my old heart feel very happy by telling me that. thank you' his mother said to you once her and your mother's childish talk ended. 'although my child has the habit of being quite immature every now and then, I assure you he also knows how to be mature. especially when it comes to taking care of those around him'
 you nodded and glanced at your mother, who made eye contact with you. after sending her a quick eye signal, she announced to the other two that you had a meeting elsewhere. "thank god she got it" you sighed in relief - the last time you sent her an eye signal to indicate that you had to be elsewhere, she did not understand and that ended up being a very awkward moment for you, her and all 50 employees in the same room...
 you slipped your blazer out from under your handbag's handles and as you stood up, flipped it around your so it rested on your shoulders comfortably. you then picked your bag up and slipped it into your left hand so you could shake Mrs Hwang's hand. you didn't offer a hand to Hyunjin this time, and simply left
 once you had gone, you opened your bag and checked your messages. one of your closest Chiefs thought you were dead because you hadn't checked your messages in half an hour, and another messaged you asking if someone had kidnapped you or not. you smiled at this and slipped your phone into your right hand, ready to type out a response to their messages, when all of a sudden...
 you felt your blazer being pulled off your right shoulder. using your left hand, you turned one foot and tried to stop it from falling onto the ground, when as "destiny" would have it - Hyunjin was there. holding onto one of your blazer sleeves with a look of confusion
 'what - '
 'Sorry, I thought it was your arm' he let go of the blazer, causing it to fall onto the ground. you deadpanned. he made a clicking sound with his teeth, before leaning down and picking it up for you.
 'sorry, again' he handed it back to you. 
 'what are you doing here? are you leaving too?'
 'what? no, I...I had something to tell you'
 you crossed your arms and gave him an expectant look. 'go on'
 'this was the first time we properly met and spoke to each other, and I don't think you have the best impression of me right now, in your head'
 'you don't say'
 'you're not exactly shining in my eyes either Miss (y/n)'
 you narrowed your eyes at him. 'what's your point, Mr Hyunjin?'
 'I think we should forget about the bouquet, and the meeting just now, when the week officially starts. neither of us will benefit if we keep feelings of distaste for each other during the week - do you get what I'm trying to say?'
 you relaxed your eyes and nodded. as much as you'd prefer for him to be wrong, he was right. wasting time and energy being mad at him for small reasons wouldn't help anyone, especially your mother with all her high hopes
 'fine. let's truce from when the week begins to when the week finishes' you held your right hand out and he, for some reason, high-fived it instead of giving you a handshake. "maybe it's only the suit that makes him look mature", you questioned in your head
 'I'll need your number, by the way. my mum said so, and your mum agreed' 
 you couldn't help but chuckle at this. he raised an eyebrow at your reaction
 'what's so funny?'
 'nothing. you sound like a little child getting permission from his mother or something'
 a corner of his lips went up and he chuckled too. 'very funny. I doubt you're older than me. I was born in 2000'
 'that's nice to know' you replied blandly as you opened your Contacts page up on your phone and selected the option to add a new contact. 'here, add your number'
 'aren't you going to tell me when you were born?'
 'maybe I will, maybe I won't. will I get your number today or after the week?'
 he deadpanned but took the phone and typed his number out.
 'if the week goes well, you have to let me know' he told you with an amused smile as he returned your phone. 
 you nodded and turned around and began to make your way again to the lift. "what bullshit" you thought to yourself as you checked your Contacts list to find his number. "why's he so desperate to know my birthday?"
 you looked through your entire list of numbers but couldn't find one with his name on it. making your eyebrows furrow, you checked once again and read carefully, all the names you had to make sure you didn't miss one out. that's when you found it
 "My Handsome One Week Fiancé Jinnie"
 your eyebrows relaxed as you couldn't stop yourself from laughing out loud. as you reached the lifts, you tried to calm yourself down, so you distracted yourself by pressing a button that made the doors open to an empty lift and stepped in. but as soon as you stepped into the lift the giggles returned and you burst out laughing once again
 what you didn't notice was the fact that Hyunjin, after giving you your phone back, hadn't left to go back to Room 45. he was still standing in the same spot you left him at, and when hearing you laugh, knew that you saw his contact name and chuckled quietly to himself too
 as your lift made its way down to the first floor, you finally managed to calm down and edit his name, changing it from "My Handsome One Week Fiancé Jinnie" to "The Bouquet Thief". as you looked at the new name, you unknowingly smiled to yourself as a small thought came to your mind: "maybe this week will be more bearable than it sounds"

This covers articles I came across since the early February report, although some may be older than that. I am a bit behind due to my trip last week and other events, but some things here are a bit time-sensitive so I wanted to release this now. 
I am still looking into setting up a new ecommerce business forum where we can discuss this sort of news, as well as any day-to-day issues we face. I need some good suggestions for a cheap or free forum space that has some editing tools, is fairly intuitive for inexperienced members, and is accessible. It should affect how we design web pages. “Mobile visitors also behave differently from their desktop web counterparts, staying on pages for shorter periods of time, for example.” Other interesting takeaways from this SimilarWeb report: “[Facebook] lost 8.6% of [web] traffic over the past year alone” but increased in app sessions. 
The price of domains ending in “.com” will almost certainly be going up soon, and will go up most years after that, unless something changes at the last minute. If you are absolutely certain that you will continue to use the same domain name for your website, blog, ecommerce forwarding etc., then you might consider paying a few years in advance to save a few bucks.

Another trend report for 2020 from Dayna Isom Johnson [podcast links & transcript] She leads off with tips on how to get featured: “ so it's incredibly important to see a bright representation that really clearly shows your product...Do be original. I'm always trying to find the latest and the greatest that isn’t already on the shelves...Do be inclusive. ... I'm talking about models of all ethnicities, all genders, all body types, all ages.” Etsy chose chartreuse as their colour of the year: “in the last three months, there's been a 12% increase in searches for green already, and a 55% increase in neon green.” The wedding trends part was mostly already covered in a blog post, but she does also answer a few seller questions. 
Website user experience (UX) is a big part of getting people to convert, and an outside group ranks Etsy’s as “acceptable”. Many will be unsurprised that search gets a score of “mediocre” and Accounts & Self-Service get a “poor” grade.  
The migration to Google Cloud services is complete, so now Etsy can run more experiments more often, including those involving AI. (Although the forum thread was laughing at the idea of bad reviews helping shops, there is actually some research supporting that, so it is a logical thing to test.)

SEO: GOOGLE & OTHER SEARCH ENGINES 
Google does not confirm every large search update, so this one remains a mystery at the moment, since Google refused to give an answer. That means it’s not a core update. 
Another video (with subtitles in several languages) from the SEO for Beginners series from Google, on the basics you need for good website SEO. 
If you are interested in “searcher intent”, this 500 person survey asks about what people are really looking for, and what they think of the search results the end up with. Overwhelmingly, they say they prefer organic results to ads, and the majority see targeted ads that they can’t figure out the reason/s behind. “Sixty-eight percent responded that Google adding more ads to the search results would make them want to use the search engine less.” Also, a slight majority preferred text results to images, video, & audio. “When asked which factor had the most significant impact on their decision to click a result, 62.9% responded it was the description, followed by 24.2% who said the brand name, and 13% who said title.” That means that the first part of your Etsy listing description, or the coded meta description on a page on your website, has the most influence on people clicking on your link once they see it. 
I usually strongly suggest that people setting up their own websites make sure they do some SEO work & keyword research for their category/shop section pages, and it turns out that there is new research showing I am correct. “Specifically, e-commerce category pages – which include parent category, subcategory and product grid pages with faceted navigation – ranked for 19% more keywords on average than product detail pages ranked for. The additional keywords they ranked for drove an estimated 413% more traffic, based on the keywords’ search demand and the pages’ ranking position. With optimization, those ranking category pages also showed the potential to drive 32% more traffic.”
Semi-advanced: explaining the (seemingly endless) debate on whether subdomains or subdirectories are better for SEO. 
SEO study - do you really need to use H1 tags on a page? Maybe not, although some screen readers recognize them as the page title so they help with accessibility. (Etsy & many other marketplaces don’t let you make this coding choice, so don’t worry about it there.)

Like almost all social media, Twitter has an algorithm that mediates what users see (although you can turn it off, or use apps such as Tweetdeck to get around it as a reader). Ranking factors include recency, engagement, media and activity. The article includes a few tips on how to make it work for you, but then slides into promoting its app as the solution - you can just skip that part.

Google search ads get more results than Facebook and Instagram, simply because more people who see them want to buy something. “Less expensive products tend to sell better than more expensive ones on Facebook and Instagram, per the study.”
If you are running ads where you can choose your keywords, don’t forget to examine your organic search results and impressions for new words to advertise. Google Search Console is a great source.

Amazon has nearly 40% of the US ecommerce market, according to a report by eMarketer. Etsy is not in the top 10; eBay is 3rd behind Walmart. 
Sales on Shopify sites during the Black Friday-Cyber Monday long weekend went up 61% to $3 billion in 2019. They claim that the “direct -to-consumer” approach can be successful for both big & small brands. 
Japanese authorities are going after Rakuten for the ecommerce company’s push to make its sellers offer free shipping. 
eCommerceBytes’ annual Sellers Choice survey placed eBay first out of the online marketplaces that were rate. Note that this is not a scientific survey and largely covers the site’s readership only. Bonanza was the most improved & Etsy showed the worst drop (from 1st to 5th place). 
A review of that article last month that says ecommerce sites should have info pages as well as product pages, if only for SEO reasons. The author approves. 
The CBC show Marketplace did a large test buying branded items on AliExpress, Amazon, eBay, Walmart and Wish. It turns out that most were fake.

What Is Forex? How to Make Money Trading Forex?

As financial technology continues to advance, access to markets becomes easier and easier. With that, the methods to make a living within the financial sector become more and more diverse. From trading futures to investing in cryptocurrencies, there is a method out there to fit your needs. One market that has grown in popularity is the Forex market, which is short for foreign exchange. This is simply when currency pairs trade on the market, such as the United States Dollar compared to the Great Britain Pound.

What is Forex?
The Forex market is a near 24 hour, 5 days a week market that trades every currency pair in the world. In the immediate sense, it can affect businesses that import and export products, while long-term affects include increased or decreased wages for employee. Within these two example, there are people that take advantage of the movements in the markets and these individuals are known as Forex traders.
How Does Forex Work?
Forex traders enter positions when they believe the market is moving in their desired direction. Similar to equities or futures, you can enter into long or short positions, depending on your opinion. One of the differences are when trading Forex, you choose a lot size, rather than a share of stock. Each lot size can be as little as a fraction of an amount such as .1 or large such as a 100 lot position. This depends on your balance but we’ll dive into that later.
How Can You Make Money Trading on Forex?
How you make money trading the Forex market is predicting where the market will go and enter a position accordingly. When trading in a market that is globally impacted it is critical to stay abreast of the information being published within each country. For example, within the United Stated there are the Fed meeting minutes and oil inventory numbers that tend to have an impact on USD currency pairs. Factoring these in with your decision-making is how you begin formulating a game plan to profit in the Forex market.

Switching gears, with the growth of markets and retail traders gaining access to more, there have been many claims that companies or individuals have created a ‘bot’ that will trade for you and offers a profit. In the same boat as the indicators, it is highly unlikely there are any bots out there that provide consistent returns using only algorithms. If you are ever approached by a brand selling a bot, you should stay away and stick to your original plan. When starting in the Forex markets, first you should understand the fundamentals and know how markets react to certain news publications. From there, you can begin to find the right technical indicators that fit your trading style. At this point, if you are able, you can begin putting together some sort of automated process that either trades or alerts you to potential trading opportunities. The difference here is you understand what is being done to make the robot and it is tailored directly to your trading style and needs.
Choosing the Best Forex Broker
Now that you understand what to avoid and how to formulate a game plan, it is time to find a broker that is right for you. There are several out there but we will quickly review a couple so you understand what is out on the market. First up is IQ Option, which allows you to trade Forex either using Meta Trader or binary options. Binary options simply state whether the market will be above or below a specific strike and a defined point in the future. With binary options you have defined risk and profit up front, allowing for a less stressful way to access the market. Next up is FX Pro, which does not offer binary options, but rather utilizes Meta Trader 4 and Meta Trader 5 to place and execute trades. Later in this section, we’ll go over the difference between the two products. FX Pro also offers a detail list of their products and spreads, allowing for a picture of what it will take to breakeven in a trade. Lastly, there is Alpari that offers potential bonuses as well as CFD’s, along side Forex trading. One area to consider is the education that each platform offers. Continued education, regardless of Forex or equities is critical. Not that it is necessary for the platform to provide educational content; it is certainly a move that shows they are invested in their clients.

Another main difference is the background information that allows for algorithm trading, which was briefly mentioned in an earlier section. One of the key features that MT5 allows for is Object-Oriented Programming. If you are only interested in indicators then this may not be as important. However, should you have an interest in building an algorithm for yourself, you may benefit from Meta Trader 5.

Lastly, MT5 is better for testing compared to MT4. When building a trading plan, if you have the ability to back test a strategy, you should take advantage of that. This can give you insight into if your strategy has merit or is completely off the wall. Regardless of which you choose to move forward with, ensure it fits your trading needs and allows you to execute your game plan accordingly.
5 Ways To Avoid Losing Money In Forex
Entering into a financial market can be intimidating and full of people ready to take advantage of you. It is important that you take as much time to inform yourself so when you move forward, you know what to look for and how to avoid losing money trading in the Forex market. Ensure You Are Finding a Reputable Broker First, ensure you are finding a reputable broker to process your trades. With a plethora of brokers on the market, there are some that provide better rates than others. In order to save you money, take the time to understand their fees, as well as the spreads between the currency pairs. If you can save money in those two spots it will benefit you greatly over time. Enslaved Real Estate - Seven Figures Easily

I often convey to people that becoming a millionaire in the real estate business is an uncomplicated thing to accomplish. They usually give me a look for bewilderment. I say that you don't have to understand every aspect in real estate in order to begin investing. The goal was simply to just continue to keep buying as many properties as possible until you build up a selection worth millions of dollars. For example let's just say you bought one property one year for five years valued at $100, 000 a home. Since the five years that you bought the properties, worth have gone up somewhat and the mortgages have gone down, additionally your net worth is the equity in between. As you begin to look at this throughout your investing career, especially when the market will be on the rise, it can be an exciting time. Your expectations should be to exist off of the income from your job while the profit from the nightly rental property business is used to fuel its needs. If I owned dozens of homes, I would go six months whereby I wouldn't need to change a doorknob and then out of the blue all hell would break loose. I'd be managing an eviction, two vacancies, and apartments that were demolished. When it rains it pours in the real estate business enterprise; at least that's the way it worked out for me. I remember in two separate occasions during the summertime one year followed by a subsequent summer a year later I was bombarded with all issues. As bad as I make it sound, It is my opinion you'll find it all to be worth it in the end. It seems that no matter how much cash I made, I have learned in my career I never ever really save. As you earn more money, your lifestyle increases and you will upgrade your homes and cars to the point where your own bills go right along with your salary. The real estate enterprise is almost like a bank account you really can't touch easily with out selling a building, so it continues to grow and feed off from itself. It's a terrific feeling when you realize that your $550, 000 portfolio experienced a 10 percent increase in character in the last year and you're up an additional $55, 000. I'm using the same principles today in the commercial arena selecting larger buildings with similar strategies. I can't buy a $3 million building with the technique, but there are many other things that may be worked out in the commercial world. Nowadays I use strategies that focus on complex negotiations with the sellers where I convince the crooks to carry paper or lease option the building. I'm also able to borrow money from banks for commercial investments presenting the bank that piece of real estate I am buying as security as well as existing pieces of real estate as collateral. I label it redundant collateralization and am seeing more and more of computer every day from banks. " Theodore Roosevelt Let me dream about holding a portfolio worth $12 million after the market goes up 20 percent giving me a one-year tax free gain of $2, 400, 000. I feel that this is a realistic expectation for my second circuit of the real estate business. In the year 2025, I will be sixty years old. I feel certain that if I continue to just do exactly what I've been doing my whole life, I surely should have the net worth of many millions of dollars strictly for my real estate property holdings. I know of no other way to make money through these types of numbers as easily as I do in the properties business. I don't deny that other people have the means to make this kind of money or even more, but I am not familiar with the methods. I consider myself an expert on real estate, and also I certainly feel as some of the things I'm speaking about here will happen to me as long as I'm lucky enough to still be breathing when 2025 rolls around. This is why I love the estate business, and this is why I'm pumped every day so you can get out and keep it going because I can notice my future is filled with bright and sunny months. I feel terrific about getting up in the morning and going to perform, and when you have that kind of attitude, there's no way you possibly can fail. This morning I woke up at 5: 33 a. m. and went to my office building to reorganize some equipment in our communication room. I'm spending numerous afternoon hours on a Sunday working on my book plus feeling great about my possibilities. If you love what you achieve, you will be much happier and much more successful at whatever you try out. I don't even consider the things that I did this morning or perhaps writing this book as work in the regular technique people think of it. Obviously, it is work that Now i'm doing, but I don't have a negative feeling about the the word work or what it entails. I get a great sense of accomplishment from getting up in the morning and building things that happen furthering along my career each day on baby steps toward the ultimate goal of massive huge selection accumulation. I hope that some of you reading this book will probably really grasp the things I'm talking about above. I feel specifically the most important message in the entire book. THEN THINGS CHANGED. ‖ have you seen NICO HAMADA at the beach recently? i remember them being so PASSIONATE, but they seemed a little HESITANT today. it must be tough going through such hard times at only TWENTY-THREE. even then, they still remind me of PERMANENTLY EXHAUSTED FEATURES, MUSIC SHEETS SCATTERED ALL OVER THE ROOM, ODDLY SHAPED CLOUDS, and BALLS OF FLUFFY, PASTEL YARN.

i’m dee, and i never sleep. let’s get it started -- shall we ??
tl;dr and headcanons --- big family, big money and even bigger pressure. a whole ass cutie. true personification of an exclamation mark at times. memes, memes, memes. says and writes things that sometimes make one wish they were jared, nineteen. will steal your dog, cat or literally any animal, ever. a toss up between the mom friend and the wine aunt. most likely to befriend everyone’s parents ( probably because she can’t stand her own ). a terrible cook, -5/10 would not trust her in the kitchen. will refuse to get out of the car because her favourite song is playing on the radio. puns. yoda jumped out. many would say she’s a trust fund baby on the lowkey, and they would be two hundred percent right... unfortunately.
nico mei hamada was born to a pretty affluent and strict family that moved to the states when she was just five years old. she may have not experienced the so-called ‘culture shock’ too much, seeing as she was tiny, but she still kind of feels out of place to this day ( not that she would ever have the guts to admit it, though ).
with her mother being a composer, herself, nico’s parents decided to sign her up for piano classes. safe to say, she didn’t particularly enjoy being told what to do from day one, and she didn’t know what she disliked more -- the pressure to do something she didn’t want, or the classes themselves.
but... later, she grew to appreciate the fact that they’ve decided to put her through something like that. nico had found new hobby, her new passion -- something that she could possibly consider her one true love. she fell in love with the technique, the music and everything else that entailed the magical world of instruments. she could go ahead and admit that this was the only thing that was making her truly happy.
as the time went on, she had picked up guitar and violin, having been focused on piano nonetheless. she didn’t necessarily wanted to overwhelm herself with the amount of instruments she had to keep up with. but, was it really hard for her? not really. it was her hobby, something she genuinely enjoyed doing. she was convinced that if she ended up doing what she liked, she would never have to struggle with it.
juggling between attending private high school and music school didn’t exactly belong to the easiest of tasks, but she managed to find the perfect balance. she could admit that having one or two friends and that’s it was pretty helpful. if she wanted to be the best of the best in her craft, she had to make some sacrifices and nico was aware of it.
after years, upon years of hard work ( majoring in music production in college and so on ), nico joined the ranks of an orchestra and she finally felt like she’d accomplished something that could make her family proud. they weren’t necessarily as vocal about it as she’d wished them to be, so maybe this thing would change it? and it did. if one could only imagine her mother’s face when nico told her the good news...
unfortunately, having found it too stiff and boring ( her words, not mine ) for such a charismatic being she was, she decided to leave. no hard feelings. nothing. it was just that. even her parents expressed that they weren’t exactly that surprised about her decision. apparently, they knew her daughter all too well, and it showed. they were still, however, disappointed... which wasn’t a new thing to her. nico was grateful for their calm reaction, no matter what -- she wouldn’t know what to do if they reacted in a different way, really. 
her decision made her father think that she was thinking about taking over his business -- he couldn’t be any more wrong, though. it’s not that nico wouldn’t want to help her parents out with anything, it’s just that she clearly had no interest in anything business-related. and that made mr. hamada change from a supporting father to someone who was giving her an ultimatum. all or nothing, so to speak. she was supposed to either take up necessary classes and learn about everything that has to do with owning a tech company, or at least make sure to help them out when they needed it the most.
how could she do that when there was no prior motivation, nor reason for her to be there? why did they put her through music school and everything else if they wanted her to become a businesswoman? it made no sense to nico. when she explained her point of view to her father, he lashed out, deciding to end all the forms of contact with her -- not without telling the girl how disappointed in her he was, of course.
nico’s mom tries her best to keep in touch with her, but every single conversation they have just ends with an argument. that doesn’t necessarily stop her from allowing nico spend their money, though. she thinks this might be something that will persuade her to change her mind. little did she know... it won’t do anything. she wants nothing to do with it.
now, without that much to do, nico is considering having a little bit of a break to experience everything she didn’t have the chance to do when she was growing up -- whether it be parties, getting a first tattoo... chopping a huge chunk of her hair off, things like that. she figured, that having a social life will be so much easier now that she has the time to actually indulge in all of these things. she’s got a whole new world to explore, and she won’t stray from throwing her parents’ money around. 
once she decides that her time off moment is over, she wants to find a job that she will actually feel satisfied with. she sells the songs that she’s composed and written the lyrics for, but she also wants to start recording demos for herself, and maybe even do some odd jobs on the side. but... that is something she definitely needs to take her sweet time with -- nico had found herself enjoying the lavish lifestyle she secretly craved ever since she was a teenager.
it’s more than safe to say that her closet and most shelves are filled with notebooks containing unfinished songs and random thoughts that were too precious to her to throw away. lyrics about falling in love, heartbreak -- anything one could expect from someone who went through it in such a short amount of time.
during summer vacation, three years ago, nico met elise. the two quickly hit it off and became each other’s first everythings. the pair was inseparable for the time being -- with elise choosing to pursue her degree in politics, the girl had to move a couple of states away. they swore to each other that it would never let it affect their relationship. at first, everything was going swimmingly well, as it should, but then... things started to get messier and messier. obviously...
nico couldn’t possibly put the blame on the girl, at first. after all, she was busy, right? well... as the time went on, elise started to avoid any means of contact with her, chalking it up to being buried under the books and working on essays and whatnot. seemed believable enough. again, nico couldn’t really question it, because she knew that her major was one of the toughest ones out there. it wasn’t quite right, still.  
after a long month filled with nothing but waiting and sleepless nights, nico decided to officially end the relationship only to find out that her now ex had found someone new, someone who goes to the same university as her. safe to say, it drove nico mad. how could she even think she was good enough for someone like elise? it made her wonder whether she was just a temporary place in the other’s bed, and even if her feelings for her were real. at this point, it could literally be anything.
it’s already been a year since it all happened, and while she might not act like she’s been affected by her ex-girlfriend ghosting on her without giving her a reason and finding someone new, nico is definitely FEELING it all. she’s just... not vocal about it, because why should she be? apparently, that’s what happens when you trust someone so much, and let them lead you on for so long. nico was convinced that having a long distance relationship with someone would be a piece of cake, but boi, was she dead wrong...
nico decided not to look for any kind of consolation from people. she is just... there, aimlessly going through the day, making a complete fool out of herself, probably as a defense mechanism. despite not seeking help for herself, she’s always down to talk about everything with just about anyone, because she’s That kind of person, really. don’t let that fool you, though! she’s grown a backbone over the years of acting like a doormat, and she truly won’t hesitate to voice her opinion if something is bothering her. she is a nice person and that will truly never change, though.

unlikely friend ;; someone nico thought she would never be friends with but finds herself being friends with regardless. she definitely admires them for being who they are and genuinely has a great time whenever she hangs out with them, despite all their differences. ( open ;; 0/?? )
