Ya know sometimes it’s funny to me
I’m like why do I always write the boys as humans and specifically recently mermaids, why not write them as robots?
And then I look at my backlog of human bio and fish anatomy stuff and I’m like-
Yeah okay I could world-build for hours using this
And on the other hand I am completely in the dark about most programming and robotics things
#this is specific to Luca au#like it’s so funny I have soooooo much random worldbuilding for Luca au#but only like 10% will make it into the fic#like y’all don’t need to know the boys dna is all sorts of fucked up#or how the disguise magic works through a mechanism of heterochromatin formation on specific points#or that the way the transformation works is by a change in shh and wnt signaling along the spinal chord#along with differential expression of hox genes#which btw is total sci-fi#could never happen#or the exact way their digestive system works#or how the cartilage in the jaw breaks down into two main bones allowing for larger bite#or how their reproductive system works#or their entire family lineage from 500 years back#or how their writing system works#well actually that last one might come back#Luca au#I’ve put toooooo much thought into this#lol

Hi! I really like your opinions about Sev! Do you have any headcanons about the type of music or movies he might like if he were familiar with Muggle culture?
Hey hoooo! I’m glad you like my blog :)
Honestly, I haven’t thought much about this because I’ve always imagined Severus as someone who wanted to distance himself as much as possible from the Muggle world. He associated everything Muggle with his father or his poor childhood, which utterly disgusted him. So, I picture him with only basic knowledge of Muggle-related stuff, picked up during his childhood or from pop culture references during his summers as a teenager at Spinner's End. But very outdated knowledge, since after graduating from Hogwarts, he likely didn’t interact with that world unless it was for a mission or something similar.
That said, if he were up to date with Muggle culture and genuinely interested in it, I can totally see him being a huge fan of The Smiths. I mean, 80% of their discography feels tailor-made for him. You listen to any song, and it could fit him perfectly. Plus, he seems like the type to vibe with that sad '80s alternative rock. Along the same lines, Joy Division, The Cure, or New Order would probably appeal to him because they share that same depressing, melancholic tone. Overall, I think British New Wave fits him really well. And in the '90s? 100% he’d prefer Oasis over Blur, lol.
Movies are a bit trickier, but I can totally picture him as the kind of person who enjoys original-language arthouse films like Hiroshima Mon Amour or Jules et Jim—Nouvelle Vague stuff with loads of existentialism and heavy influences from unbearable intellectuals like Jean-Paul Sartre. It just matches his character. But who knows? He might also enjoy Star Wars and sci-fi in general. I can definitely see him being a potential fan of Dune and The Lord of the Rings. But that’s just my personal perception hahah
Btw I'm sure he WOUDL TOTALLY LOVE A song of Ice and Fire book series. Potentially huge fan of Tyrion Lannister probably lol

are there any silly things with the festivalverse gang that aren't reallllyyyy important to the storyline but are neat? Just lil things (for example: my hc that cross is allergic to soy! stuff like that) :D
ghskgshkghsk YES!!! I love projecting silly little details on them,,, mostly on dust he is the victim of most of my projection sorry man
on the allergy topic!! my friend (hi ink) is currently attempting to make my dust have a broccoli allergy! we have a deal that if it draws dust having an allergic reaction to broccoli ill make it canon and ive seen the wips so its technically not canon yet but will be (this is fcking hilarious to me btw it started bcs he was threatening me about it-)
hmmm other stuffs,,,,, killer really likes drama shows of most flavours!! them and dust will watch medical dramas together bcs dust likes the medical aspect and killer likes the silly drama n romance (this one is pure projection,,,, im watching 2 med dramas actively)
hmm ok now im thinking about shows / genres they like so killer really likes dramas n esp workplace dramas (cop, med,,, theres others i just cant think of any of them) n i think action too esp,, cross really likes fantasy and mystery (i think cross would be a good omens fan i cant explain why but canon to my au <3),,, dust likes horror (GENRE NOT THE PERSON) depending on the mood, med dramas (he has a lot of medical knowledge for. totally normal reasons <-lieing),,, but SCI FI. his fav < i am once again projecting. I think horror would like more reality based shows, n more calm stuff (she doesnt get why some of them wanna be stressed out irl then watch fake ppl be stressed),,,
not really important but killer n cross r both albino!!! bcs design purposes (see i made killer albino b4 i finalized crosses design in my mind and then i was like well i want cross to be and. i dont wanna change killer so they both r!!!) its less 'noticable' with killer tho bcs they dye (well make cross dye-) their hair as well as the uh. lack of eyes. they both r tho!! :D
Inks tattoos are NOT consistent! They change constantly no ones ever seen them change or move but every time ppl see him they r different n no ones quite sure why or how (they just sillay like that :D)
Error n Nightmare are canonically married. no ones quite sure how or when that happened or. why (are they in love romantically? the answer is debatable. they are married!!) this has no relevance to most of the story they r both just freaks like that (affectionate)
Ok slightly lore relevant but i wanna add this one too so error doesnt really? exist properly in time??? bcs technically error is one of the "younger" created gods but also it kinda. slipped thru a crack in reality and thats how we ended up here (antivoid) so its not just taht it has a bad idea or weird perception of time it just. physically exists outside of linear time. so error technically became way after nightmare but nightmare knew error as existing before her bcs of errors time fuckery. nightmare is aware of how error functions but the only one(s) who can properly perceive time before error existed and after are reaper and life. Ink also doesnt really exist properly in time but in a less obvious way? ink has a definitive start of creation date but is aware of everything that happened before that he just didnt exist in it,,, after his creation tho? very debatable how he works in time. the only ones hes really close to is dream n error and dream is not sure and you will never get a proper answer out of error lmfao
ok sorgy lore infodump done im insane about them can u tell
ghskghskg theres prob way more but this is all i can think of rn i hope u enjoy!!!!
also i swear i prommy i dont only have lore for the bad sanses i just. mostly talk about them n have more for them bcs they r my favs (which is bad for them. i put them thru the horrors sory guys) BUT the other guys have lore too!!!!
#ask box shenanigans :3#GSHGKSHGKS YIPPEE YAY#i lvoe rambling about my guys#pls feel free to ask anything everything about them whenever#i love to talk#festivalverse#festivalverse rambles#festivalverse lore#festival dust#festival killer#festival cross#festival horror#festival ink#festival nightmare#festival error#should i tag the main tags#ghskghks nah this is too just my au#and very long#do not wanna clog up all the main tags with my silly au rambles#they can live in my festivalverse tags instead :3#rambles

How much of what you write in Opus about their armor is stuff from canon versus your own creation? How do you go about figuring out the tech in satisfying ways? I'd never realized how much I love the ins and outs of sci fi armor until Opus, but I'm watching The Expanse for the first time and Bobbie's armor is giving me similar vibes, and I guess I just wanna talk about sci fi armor and how it's secretly *so* emotional. XD
Canon is the jumping off point, and from there it's a mix of my own headcanons, brainstorming with Real Life Romance Option, and in the case of armor, @sinvraal's armor bible, which pretty much lives in an open tab on my browser (along with the wiki page on codex entries and a great galaxy map showing relay connections). I also use this wonderful comic as a reference.
The codex entries, especially from ME1, give you so much great stuff to work with, for biotics, weapons, armor, space combat, etc. etc. There are a lot of holes and places to color in and outside the lines, but the framework is a gold mine.
Armor in particular is SUCH a fun playground, not only because it's great sci fi and serves as one of the building blocks for the world of Mass Effect, but it gives you so many opportunities for characterization. How a character customizes their armor, the HUD preferences, the wear and tear, habits around its maintenance and upkeep, etc. etc. can tell you SO MUCH about them.
And in addition to making a character a total badass, armor can be astonishingly intimate. One the scenes I am most proud of is the armor scene in Cantata where Kaidan and Sam do their suit checks. I don't know if I've ever written a scene with more UST. One of my greatest moments as a writer was @urrone telling me that in a scene where there was no skin to skin contact at all, "I don't know if it's possibly to have sex with your armor on, but if it is, those two just did." XD
I LOVE attempting the harder science stuff in Opus and could talk about it all day, but yeah, armor is the shit and I love writing about it. Also, The Expanse is incredible and I would sell my soul to Bobbie Draper for a penny. Sam, btw, takes some influence from Amos Burton. My Admiral Hackett takes a lot of influence from Chrisjen Avasarala. He just swears a lot less, lol.

Warning!! Not actually byler doubt, but might be taken that way! Again DON’T read if you take a lot of things as doubt (which is okay, nothing wrong with you, here’s a forehead kiss)
Stranger things as a whole never actually impressed me lmao. Like, of course I love all the characters, but it’s not an overly impressive show or something. I’m not say I’m only in it for byler, but after season 4 and figuring out this insane worlds villain was…a little white boy, anything I was actually impressed by and captivated by got ripped away. It felt kinda lazy to me (personal opinion of course) Again, the show is entertaining, nothing about it is that special right now, but it’s entertaining.
Byler would be different and actually give me the chance to say “okay yes this show is very well done. I’m impressed.”
I think saying people are ‘only in it for that’ is reduced to ship stuff, when in reality a lot of people are just really hoping the show that we like is actually done well. Byler is a narrative that we’re being shown, not just two characters being shipped.
I’m not saying I don’t like the other characters or love them. But no, if byler doesn’t happen, I will not be impressed, I will once again believe the show is mediocre. The show is a lot of fun, but so are millions of others that are also written better in the science fiction sense. And character sense as well, but I do believe ST builds good relationships (rn atleast we shall see).
I might enjoy it, I’ll still have fun, I won’t witch hunt anyone that’s for sure, I might say nothing in the end. But I won’t be impressed by the show even a little bit. Gotta do something special to be something special (in this sense, not in like a human way. Everyone is special no matter what and you’re all amazing)
I think that’s what I’ve been trying to articulate in my brain. When you see stuff that’s like ‘don’t be disappointed if it doesn’t happen’ I get frustrated, because a lot of people are in it for the narrative and for the story. This show is flashy, but we want something else. We want something real and for it it mean something. Byler is this very impressive and well thought out narrative that’s not about cool soundtracks, or powers, or fight scenes, or whatever else.
They never made the sci fi/upside down part intriguing enough or that smart (personal opinion! Not saying I’m right or everyone thinks this way). It was kinda brushed off over and over again. Season one (and two)was amazing I’ll give it that, but through the seasons they added way too much instead of allowing us to understand this place and learn more about it. It was just constant questions and confusion and having to basically study the show to understand it, which, I don’t think makes it super smart or something. That’s how I feel of course, again doesn’t mean I’m in anyway correct. Anyways, ya know what? That’s fine. That’s totally okay, they focused the show more on the relationships and friendships and that’s great!
But again, at this point the only thing, writing wise, I’ll sit down and be like ‘okay, that got me, you impressed me. It wasn’t flashy, it was a beautifully structured narrative.’ Is byler.
Will can have powers, he can fight the white guy with El. That’s all great, but it’s just more flash. I’ll have fun, I’ll watch the edits, but I won’t be impressed.
That’s where I stand. Again, if it doesn’t happen I’ll never ever blame the actors and I won’t even care about the writers, there’s alot of not great/mediocre writers out there, I’ll move on. But yeah, I’ll probably forget all about the show in a month or two and I bet so will a lot of other people.
Maybe they’ll surprise me with something else who knows. I doubt it, but who knows.
Btw this is NOT byler doubt, I still firmly believe it’s gonna happen because I trust my comprehension skills. I believe the writing is leading up to this completely, I study script writing and filmmaking, there’s no part of me that doesn’t believe that’s the writing direction they’re going in.
What I’m saying is, this is how I’d feel or look at it if it doesn’t happen. And kind of a response to Noah saying he hopes people won’t be disappointed. Which, of course he hopes that and of course he can’t say anything. I don’t experience doubt from that, it’s just a response.
I know people freak about byler doubt and stuff, this isn’t what that is, if you feel that way though you can of course block me. This is entirely just my personal opinion, nothing factual.
Really what I’m saying is, Stranger Things is just a bunch of flash sometimes, like storyline wise, there’s also a lot of other amazing aspects, but I don’t care about that (the flash). I don’t care about Will fighting evil with El, I don’t care about epic battle scenes, that’s all expected and we’ve seen that stuff time and time again. I want a good and well done narrative that is pure storytelling, that’s what’ll get me and let me label this as a great show. Of course, one persons opinion doesn’t mean truth and I’ll watch the show and they’ll get my view no matter what. It’s just my thoughts and the thoughts I’ve had while rewatching.
ALL PERSONAL OPINION DON’T COME AT ME

It's alright!! The ramble is just fine!
I'm surprised, I hadn't heard there'd only be 5 episodes! Though, it absolutely does make sense, and I don't mind much.
At first when I saw the art I was a bit put off but, I think I do like it after getting used to it? Though some of the designs I agree, I wish were a bit more faithful.. I understand simplifying them for animation, but their designs right now feel a bit.. Strange? Like it feels like they don't keep a lot of key things from their game designs, which could've been very fun! But, I understand they may be going something that maybe we just don't see right now? I'm deciding to stay optimistic.
I agree with the dead cells as a framework thing, and I honestly think that could be really interesting. I hope the show will be good! I'll see if I can't get the game for myself to celebrate it.
I was very put off by the art style too at first. This is coming from someone who didn’t grow up from cartoons and has a low tolerance for a lot of the art styles. In motion, I think it looks fine for most scenes. Or at least most of the scenes they showed.
Btw, on the episodes number I was wrong. Don’t know French so was only picking out the numbers. Sorry! :(
From what I can tell, there will be 10 episodes total, each ~7 minutes. I again ask people to remember motion twin is indie. 5 airing on ADN (French anime streaming service) on June 19 and the other 5 on the 26. About ADN, you can’t watch for free with ads on there. You have to subscribe. Unless there’s a free trial, I think that will be a big turn off for a lot of people. Maybe one dedicated fan will make it pirate-able and then that will help with access. Also, I can’t tell if there’s guaranteed English subs.
you’ll need a VPN too, looks like it’s France only
Link to Dead Cell Immortalis’ page on ADN
Take everything I say with a grain of salt I may have misinterpreted a lot of things
As for the designs? I have a few theories
1. They want to make the show more approachable by non-dead cells fans. The less previously established characters you have and the less motifs, the less background you need. I mean, Laure was created with the explicit purpose of informing our favorite amnesiac cell blob of the world
2. They wanted people to be able to draw visual connections between the the Beheaded and king. Assuming they’re still connected at all
In game the Beheaded has a star/cross instead of an eye on the default head.
This can also be seen in the trailer. Sometimes.
(Also spider rune and ground pound yayy)
King’s symbol change was to
Almost a star. But, stylized to resemble a crown too. This very well could be a stretch. Maybe they just felt the original coat of arms didn’t have the old sci-fi look half these guys have.
3. They’re designed so the heads stick out. Like fingernails. Because they’re the hand. Do you guys even get what I’m saying with this
Not design related, I want to mention UI
Cells and gold moved to where mutations would be. Prisoner’s collar, 1 flask charge, base sword, base shield, and mystery item #3. We can assume from this it’s early on in the series. Amulets moved to be visible. Empty health but no scrolls of power indicator. I just found it interesting

@lizargons @saccharinekat hey hi!!! :3c love how ny'all both asked me this, just on different blogs X3 i'll answer em both on here since i wanna use this blog a bit more, 10 things that make me happy total!
1. - my besties (2 of which are you two! :D) make me the happiest kittypup, i always enjoy chatting and hanging out, it really makes my day 🥺
2. - Biology/Zoology is a favorite topic of mine, i love finding out how living stuff works, how it doesn't, and like. creatures in general yknow? especially critters society in general tends to look down upon or find gross dffdsdf
3. - Exobiology counts as a separate category i think, since it deals with animals that *could* exist on the different conditions of other planets! i think the first documentary that got me hooked on the subject was Alien Planet (2005) which, was apparently based on the book Expedition, by Wayne Barlowe, which i really need to find and read X3 4. - Cheesy sci-fi shows are a lot of fun, Stargate and Farscape are my favs :3 5. - Math! Numbers! love doing spreadsheets when i can!! one of my favorite things of working at a local gas station at night was literally just recording the lottery numbers for the morning crew :v 6. - Blaseball!! it may be down but the Before page really helped me get into it (thank you Tia! :3) and the sheer amount of community content and character designs is so fucking cool?? one tiger btw 7. - images where you know a tiny animal bit somebody's finger:

YOU WAYCHED ID INVADED :?? sorry i havent met anyone whos watched it
do you have any reccs for anything similar 🙏🙏🙏
-🪱
yes i did!! just a few months back, and i loved it (i think i love it more and more as it marinates in my brain lmao)
so of course i recently mentioned it because of the deranged detective anime lol, though i'm an anime-only with that and with only one ep out so far it's kind of hard to say if i would recommend it as something similar to id:invaded? only similarity so far is in the detective who serial kills serial killers, no sci-fi element or anything (at least not so far)
for something actually similar, i would recommend psycho-pass! it's a bit darker? i mean like visually, like aesthetically. as in literally a darker color palette ahaha, but id:invaded reminded me a whole bunch of psycho-pass (which i'd watched a bit earlier and loved even more) so i would say for sure that's my top rec for something similar
akudama drive is... i think less directly similar, in terms of plot/themes/etc, but there's a vibe that's... maybe a bit in the same category? akudama drive is just imo less Serious and more like a bang bang fun action ride (though it's not just completely silly either, i enjoyed it quite a bit overall)
darker than black might also be a good fit if you don't mind an older series, the mc there (one of my favorites) has a similar-ish vibe to narihisago imo (not like identical or anything but they're like, idk, i think i would put them into roughly the same bucket of blorbo)
it all depends a bit on similar in what regard, i guess! characters? plot? the sci-fi aspect of it? or the detective/mystery aspect? or something else?
but imo can't go wrong with psycho-pass
the id:invaded director is working on overtake! this season btw, which is the f4 racing anime, so very different from id:invaded but still good stuff if you're into sports anime
you miiight also be interested in an upcoming series called special kid factory? i don't personally know much about it yet, since it's not released, but the id:invaded director is on the staff there too and the character designs will be by the id:invaded character designer. looks like it could be good or could be a total whiff, only time will tell
and speaking of the id:invaded character designer, if it's the character look you like, you could give hamatora a shot. same character designer there, though i didn't personally get that into hamatora (some series similar-ish to it that i preferred more were like... kekkai sensen and hakata tonkotsu ramens)
anyway lots of options! just if you look up a list of similar series and see something called tokyo 24-ku on it do not. do not watch that it was not good lmao
#asks#hi worm!#this got so long and rambly but#tl;dr PSYCHO-PASS#(but depends a bit on similar in what way ahahah)

Rules: Go to your published works on AO3 and list the first fic you ever published there, the last fic you published, any fic that you wrote for a fandom/ship only once, your favorite fic you wrote in the fandom/ship that has the most works, the fic you wish more people read, the fic you agonized over the most, the fic that sprang fully formed from your mind without any effort, and a work you are proud of—for whatever reason. <3
Btw, the fics are unsurprisingly all Flag and Ed/Stede unless stated otherwise.
First fic: Primark Scuffed and Oxford Polished, the only Mystrade (oh boy) fic I ever wrote. We move swiftly on. The very first fanfic I wrote was probably Wolfstar circa 2002 and was likely cribbed from some roleplay and posted on a Yahoo forum. We move on even more swiftly.
Last fic: Save the Date, an Ed/Stede S2 reunion fic. It turned out pretty well, give it a read!
Wrote once: Hey Sweetie, an unfinished Rick and Morty thing circa 2015. Again, we move on.
Favourite fic in biggest fandom: I guess this has to be Marvel, right? In which case I only have two Marvel fics and I'm ambivalent about both of them. The Spideypool one, Wooing in Six Very Simple Stages, is better and is also my fic with the most hits. Fun fact: it's only 10k long but I took like five years to write the final chapter because the laptop with the draft of the final chapter on it broke and I couldn't be bothered to rewrite it until the first Deadpool movie came out.
To blatantly cheat: in my heart Flag is the bigger fandom and my favourite fic in that fandom is… ugh, I can't pick. Draft Letter to Restaurant Downstairs will always hold a special place in my heart because it was ridiculous to make. I don't know that anyone else has made a video fic like that because yeah, they're a total ballache.
Fic I wish more people read: Conventional. I flatter myself that I'm good at writing AUs about topics I'm not particularly interested in and that the reader might not be particularly interested in but making them engaging anyway. This one is about sci-fi fan conventions and I think it's a fun, well written read.
Fic I agonised the most over: Restructuring. I put a lot of myself into that fic, plus I properly plotted it, so it took more effort than my average fic. I'm very satisfied with the result though.
Fic that sprang fully formed: On the Job. My wife told me an anecdote in the morning, it rattled around my head while we were out in the day and then I wrote it in an evening. I think it came out pretty well!
Fic I'm proud of: Prize Every Time. It's not every day you accidentally come up with the plot of You've Got Mail (and now that I've seen the movie, I still reckon I came up with a more satisfying ending, no offence to Nora).
Tagging anyone else who wants to have a go!
#I'm getting sick so I blame any garbled sentences on that#I've gotten better at titles and finishing fics if nothing else!#(I also reckon my writing is just a lot more convincing and tauter now too so well done me)#(practice pays off)#ty for the tag!

Hello !
I'm sorry if you arleady answered this (I don't know how to use tumblr frankly), but I would like to know if you have any ither writting project ? I really like your stories and how you write, and since I spend too much time on fallen hero: retribution (the reason I'm back on tumblr tbh) I started my annual reading of the Aria-serie (btw I was the anon who asked if she could "print your story for personnal use" and I only realised later than it sound more "kinky" than "I-won't-print-them-to-sell-them-or-idk-do-so-capitalist-stuff-with-it"
hello reading friend, I remember you! c:
it never once occurred to interpret what you said in a sexual way, don't worry haha.
i do have another writing project now but it's unfortunately not one available for reading at the moment though i do post about it on my tumblr here from time to time.
towards the end of working on the Aria fanfic series I was getting really itchy to get back to working on something wholly my own and with my life getting busier, that's why i decided to give that series the little capstone it currently has and start exploring other ideas.
i toyed around with a couple different ideas and writing sketches before settling on that were a couple of character archetypes from the fanfic and plotbeats that i didn't feel 'done' with yet and wanted to explore more on my terms. so i started working on something in june and now like, uh, 8 months later i'm 47k words into my second draft of a novel project i'm currently calling Soul Rebel (i used that for a fanfic title first i know, but it's a good title okay, it stuck with me).
whenever i post about it on tumblr, that's i've been tagging it as too. sometimes i post draft snippets or thoughts or dump a bunch of vibes screenshots, i've got a concept playlist that i keep meaning to finalize and post at some point too because of course it's not my writing if i don't have music associations going on.
i don't have a good succinct elevator pitch for Soul Rebel's concept yet, but basically the core thrust for it comes from a pretty personal pondering of mine which is: when i first came out, i had a choice. i could have a roof over my head, or i could be true to myself. i chose to have a roof over my head, and i always wondered about how things would have worked out the other way. beyond that i've been throwing pretty much a whole bunch of stuff that interests or terrifies me: the effects of climate change and sea level rise on daily life, the totality of the surveillance state, how the advancement in medical care in a capitalist society only widens the gap between the poor and rich, cool superhuman powers (and their not-so-cool side-effects), queer community, being a neurodivergent little weirdo(affectionate), and the essential value of being kind to others in a cruel uncaring world
i could happily keep infodumping about what i've got so far, but this posting is getting long enough that i'll leave it there for now, haha.
i have no idea what i'll do with this novel once it's finished. i mean, obviously i have some vague ideas for another plot line after it that i want to explore, but i mean like, it terms of putting it out there. i can't imagine ever getting to publish it. the publishing industry is a nightmare to navigate, and while this technically won't be my first finished novel (those fanfics get that honor, i guess?) it's still statistically unlikely to go anywhere. would any printing press out there even be interested in a sci-fi novel with a bunch of queer characters and focused on a neurodivergent trans woman and an in-denial Ace enby?? i've been stuck reading a bunch of YA for my job so maybe there's some book i'm missing, but we seem pretty thin on the ground in publishing rep.
my other thought would be to set up a website and post it online serial fiction style, though i'd want to have the whole thing finished first. i value my ability to revise and rework way too much to give that up again, haha!
so... yeah, that's what i've been fixated and working on a lot in my free time. at least, when i'm not spending time with my partner, playing dnd, or reading. and now i have a second job which means even less writing time, tears.
some day i want to go back and give the fanfic a proper conclusion arc, but right now Soul Rebel's got my creative energy fixation
oh geeze, i went on for way too long, sorry about that! it's uh, it's pretty easy to get me talking about this at a drop of a hat rn. anyway, thank you so much for liking the fanfic!!
it means the world to me that people actually like what i write. i went to college for creative writing and it kind of sucked really. i ended up switching to poetry for awhile because a least people weren't tearing me down for it. anyway, it's been incredibly weird in a good way to get, and to continue getting two years on, positive comments on the fanfiction. i never imagined anyone would care or even like what i put out there. i just wrote it solely for myself and threw it on ao3 in a 'eh why not' gesture, so...... thank you!!!!!!!!!

what if there was a fourth clone, and this one was evil and a bit homophobic, just a bit tho
Depending on whether he was mildly evil and homophobic in a hot or annoying way, I can see it going a few different ways. The fact that it's possible for these clones to have unique personalities raises a lot of questions, especially since the last 2 seemed to be pretty much the same to the original (me). tbh I wouldn't be completely opposed to "experimenting" with a clone of myself if we were different people on the inside, but it really, really depends on the context and I'd say no in most circumstances because it feels reeeally close to identical twin incest. His homophobia is interesting because, in his particular case due to being a clone of me, it probably implies self-hatred (I'm loving how transphobia was never mentioned here despite 2 of the 3 Conkies transitioning, btw), so we'd try to be supportive and maybe the lone still-male Conky could kiss him. Maybe. I'm conflicted on the morality there and leaning towards "ew." It's just so taboo.
If he's too annoying, we could always just either imprison him, or if shit gets really bad kill him and use him as a bin of spare parts. Like, he'd still be genetically identical to us, so we could like stick him in the freezer and harvest his body parts for ourselves whenever we felt like it lol. Free kidneys, skin grafts, teeth... Actually, I wonder if you could steal brain matter from his head and stick it in one of ours to make them smarter... probably would just make them evil and homophobic though, knowing sci-fi tropes.
One thing I'm CERTAIN I would try to do if I was in possession of a corpse identical to my own, and this is fucking disgusting but bear with me, is do a fat transfer between him and one of us to make our ass/boobs bigger lmao. Just as an experiment. Like we have backup bodies now, what's a little cosmetic malpractice among clones?
If scrapping him for plug-and-play body parts isn't an option, we could always just sell the valuable parts on the black market, turn the meat into hamburger, and keep either the skeleton or the head as a decorative trophy, both if possible. Imagine having your own head mounted over the mantle lmfao.
This is all, however, assuming we kill him, which I don't think would happen if he was only a LITTLE evil and homophobic. People can change. It really depends on how evil. I'd only kill him as a last resort. We could totally do it, though, we're his equals in every way and it's a 3 v 1.
#ask#I apologize for thinking too deeply about what I'd do if I had an evil clone it will probably happen again#like... if it was already dead and the alternative was letting it rot I think I'd be willing to try eating the flesh of a clone of myself..#I think I'd consent to that just out of curiosity yk?#like for science. film that shit put it up on YouTube#self catch and cook#and yeah I am dead set on the fat transfer thing tbh me and my clones would probably already be doing that with each other lol#trading body parts like pokemon cards

1: What is the best compliment you've gotten on any of your works?
-Onetime I wrote a plot twist in a fic and everyone in the comments (a total of 4 people) were shocked beyond words. Best chapter ever.
2: Do you have readers that you recognize by name (even if they may not comment regularly)?
-4 or 5, yes. I read their works, they read mine. We kind of are each others' fans.
3: Do you have scheduled uploads and if so, when?
-No...not yet.
4: How long was the longest work you've written?
-My longest work was the third draft of my novel, at 44K words.
5: What is your go-to way to deal with writers block?
-Random prompts. Journaling. Watching videos/making posts about writing (procrastination?).
6: Do you have a motivational cycle? (As in phases in which you barely write and phases in which you write so much holy shit).
-Yes, they sort of come and go, months at a time, maybe a year.
7: How long are your uploads in regular?
-In my fanfics, I keep most chapters 1.2K to 1.5K. In my novel though, each chapter is 2K to 2.5K.
8: Do you look through any and all replies to your work? Why?
-Yes! I love to see people's opinions on my work and build on critique. I often get inspired from comments on my works.
9: What genre is your favorite to write?
-Action/Adventure, but I had a romance faze at some point and it wasn't all that bad. I am currently writing Sci-Fi adventure, which is very interesting.
10: Do you read and write similar stuff or are there differences?
-To some extent. The things I DON'T read and DON'T write are exactly the same though.
11: What kind of relationships do you like writing best? (Family, platonic, romantic, etc.)
-Platonic friend (preferably groups) but a romantic one pops in once in a while.
12: Do you write in your first language? Multiple languages? A secret, third option?
-I used to write poetry in my native language (Arabic), but my works and novel are in English.
13: How many WIPs do you have open?
-3 atm. 2 will probably be abandoned fics soon. That and 7 other stories I have in my inventory.
14: What POV do you write? First person, second person, third person?
-I'm honestly still trying to decide. My works are mostly in 3rd, but I'm experimenting with 1st.
15: What is the weirdest thing you had to look up for writing?
-... Wendigos. 5 Punishments of Ancient China. Number of people who drown yearly in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. etc.
16: What is something you didn't have to look up but is still weird to know?
-I couldn't get an answer by looking it up, but I had to conjure the symptoms and after effects of having your earlobe split open.
17: Could you or could you not successfully pull of a murder (at least in theory)?
-I will do the murder, but it won't be long before they figure me out.
18: Do you have a beta reader?
-No... not yet.
19: Do you edit your works?
-Of course. The more serious ones at least. small changes here and there sometimes.
20: Do you start on new ideas immediately or do you write them down until after you finish your current WIP?
-I write them down, but every time I think of a scene or concept in them, I write it quick.
21: How serious do you take your writing? Do you get money for it? Do you want to? Is it a hobby or a profession?
-It is not what I'm planning to have as a full-time job, but it is a nice hobby but I hope I can publish and get money from writing a series one day.
22: How often do you write fanfic? (From not at all to exclusively).
-I used to. Not that often anymore.
23: Is there a project you want to talk about?
-I am dying to explain this book of mine to someone, except that it is the third in a series of four and it is yet to be fully plotted. (It's called Ruins of Place, btw).
24: Do you stick to the same writing style or do you try out new things when you can?
-I find my writing style change after every fallout a little, and I feel it's improvement :).
25: Have you ever gotten hate and if so, how did you deal with it?
-My fanfics were in a small fandom, so really, no one complained much. As for my novel, it has yet to meet someone else's eyes.
26: Do you have a special writing process you have to follow every time you write?
-No?
27: How many people you know irl read what you're writing?
-None. They know I'm writing, but unless this book is finished no one shall see it (and don't even come at the fanfics.)
28: What would you say is your specialty in writing?
-Internal monologue and fight scenes. Sarcasm too, if it counts.
29: Do you listen to music while you write? If so, what kind?
-Sometimes, but not that often. A mix of anything that doesn't put me to sleep in the first 30 seconds.
30: What is, in your opinion, the greatest achievement that you have reached in writing?
-Finishing each draft is a great feeling. 10yo me might have not known it, but the 210 pages of a hand-written abominable story I wrote back then was the reason I got the idea to develop steadily.
Know yourself as a writer.
Writer ask game! (Both fanfic writers and non-fanfic writers)

My Fandom Journey: Anime
I thought I'd make a little series talking about my various fandoms and my journey in them. I'm starting with a broader topic of anime, getting into more specific titles at a later post. I'll do a manga one next but my initial introduction into Japanese media was anime so I'll start here. This is gonna be a long rambly post btw.
When I was in the Philippines at a young age (I wanna say around 5 or 6 years old), me and my siblings started watching Digimon Adventures first, we literally watched all the episodes up until Digimon Tamers. We did watch western cartoons as well, we were lucky enough to have Sky so we had Disney, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network. One of the reasons I think I liked anime was because it wasn't as overly stylized as cartoons, human designs and characterizations weren't overly exaggerated like in Hey Arnold or Rugrats for example, not to say I didn't enjoy those cartoons because I totally did up to a certain age. Also because anime tended to have overarching storylines and arcs for the most part, compared to the episodic nature of early western cartoons, I found myself focusing more on the story and wanting to watch every episode. Honestly I remember being glued to the screen while watching Digimon and always made sure I watched every episode and if I missed one then I'd catch the re-run that they aired on the weekend (I remembered the exact airing schedule of this damn series when I was a child). Whereas when I missed an episode of Spongebob Squarepants or Courage the Cowardly Dog I'd be fine about it.
Most animes that were aimed at kids were licensed and aired on local channels like GMA and ABS-CBN and were majority dubbed in tagalog but there were a few channels that aired anime in english dub so that's how I watched anime most of the time. I am glad though that they kept the original Japanese openings and ending songs for the Tagalog dub. (I loved Hunter X Hunter's Ohayou Opening, it was seriously the best)
Majority of the imported anime to the Philippines were mostly shonen (as far as I was aware anyway) so the other animes we watched after school were Slamdunk, Medabots, Yu-gi-oh, Beyblade, Hunter X Hunter, Yu Yu Hakusho, Flame of Recca and a few episodes of Rave Master and Case Closed/Detective Conan. Surprisingly we weren't that into Pokemon but we did watch majority of the early seasons (Can't remember which ones, but Brock and Misty were the entourage). I think we watched Zoids too but only a few epsiodes.
When we got a bit older but still children (I was around 9-11) we started watching animes that would be considered seinen such as Rurouni Kenshin, GetBackers, Saiyuki, Cowboy Bebop, Galaxy Angels, Ranma 1/2, and a mecha anime that for the life of me I cannot remember the title of (It might've been part of the Brave franchise??). I also occasionally watched You're Under Arrest and Lupin III. Anyway most of these were obviously more censored than the manga or original Japanese version but they were still definitely innapropriate for my age range. I still don't understand how we got away with watching Rurouni Kenshin as kids it was aired on a sky channel that wasn't aimed at kids so the violence wasn't that censored, I think it was the first subbed anime that I watched
There are also animes that I didn't really watch but I was aware of like Naruto, Dragon Ball (Sorry to the fans I never quite got into these two series), Outlaw Star, Ah My Goddess, Inuyasha, Baki the Grappler, Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura.
Side note there's also another anime that I can't remember the name of but I've been looking for it forever, It's an old sci-fi spaceship anime about a man going through a mid-life crisis and becomes isekai'd(?) into this spaceship where he plays the electric guitar to power the ship and fight. Does anyone know this anime???
After moving to New Zealand when I was 11 I got exposed to different genres outside the usual Shonen and Seinen I grew up on. My first shoujo anime was Ouran High School Host Club followed by Fruits Basket, which while they're not my favorites, they hold a special place in my heart. I do remember watching animes early morning on Sunday, I would wake up at like 6am to watch Megaman, Digimon Frontier and Tokyo Mew Mew (yeah... 4kids ver). After school they aired Yu-gi-oh GX, Shaman King,
How I watched Anime also changed from just seeing what was on TV, the internet was becoming more accessible in our family (we had dial-up at first) and there were also video rental stores as well as the usual ripped DVDs that we got from friends. There wasn't a lot of choices in rental stores but they always had a decent selection of anime films and that's how I got into Ghibli films, also I think I watched the Ghost in the Shell film and 10 Centimeters per Second. At this time I watched The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Ao Hana, Hell Girl, xxxHolic, Mushishi, Death Note (early episodes), and Bleach (only until the end of Soul Soiety arc). You can kind of see from my selection here that I had a phase of mystery, supernatural anime.
I can't quite remember at around what point I transitioned to being manga only but once I came across the original source material of my favorite anime I stopped watching anime for the most part. There are notable exceptions, such as anime-only series like Psycho-pass and K, music related series like K-On! (I really wanted to hear the songs). Nowadays I'll read a manga or light novel (if translated) first then decide if it's worth it to watch the anime. I did that with Kuroko no Basket and Haikyuu! but I haven't done it recently. Basically if the anime has a manga as it's original source I'll choose that but if it's an original anime or a game-based, light novel based anime then I'll watch it.
This has been a loooong post. I'll do another one on my manga journey maybe tomorrow. This series essentially is just so I can word vomit about my fandoms because a lot of my friends don't share as many fandoms with me. If you've read until here then thanks for listening to me ramble.
Bye-bee~

Hello everyone! You can call me daisy if you want to. I'm an editor in my 20s and the world's slowest writer!
What you'll find on my blog is mostly writing-related content, art (my own and reblogs) and rambling about my own wips, the books I read, and general life updates, as well as anything else that strikes my fancy
I'm generally interested in fantasy but I also dabble in scifi, historical, contemporary, whatever looks interesting
always tag game friendly but I do them based on the capricious whims of my brain gremlins
feel free to come to me with any copyediting/grammar related questions btw! I am a nerd about this kind of thing for real
always on the lookout for writing friends but also everyone is welcome feel free to come and chat about books or art or linguistics or folklore or whatever you want
Check out my art (creatively tagged "#my art") and my writing (you'll never guess)
Main projects:
Deep and Dark, Beautiful and Bright
(working title: second chance wip) tag: second chance wip
Two people wake up with no memories. The world they stumble into is scarred and ruined—something terrible has happened here, long ago. Stumbling upon a treasure hunting party, they are relieved to find that a remnant of humanity has managed to survive, making their homes among the ruins of a past age. But when their memories begin to resurface, they are forced to question if they can really trust each other.
Starring: Trip, a thief who poses as the chosen one to escape his criminal record, and Lya, another (so-called) chosen one, who's world-saving destiny is getting more complicated than planned
Fantasy with sci-fi and horror elements. Romance but really weird about it. Story switches between pre-apocalyse (past timeline) and post-apocalypse (present timeline). Maybe this is a book (or series) in final form, or maybe it's supposed to be a monster-length web serial. who knows
Fear Me (working title: Starlight; also starlightverse*) tag: starlightwip
Alya and her brother Eli have grown up on the run, hiding from the mysterious cult of Rin. When their pursuer finally catches up to them, their guardian is left dead and the siblings are separated. Alya’s quest to find her brother brings her back to her native land of Daenar, into a world of cutthroat politics and secret societies, marked by a series of ritualistic murders.
She finds refuge with her mysterious aunt, a high-ranking government official who teaches Alya to harness the power to manipulate the emotions of others. Maybe there was a good reason she grew up on foreign soil. But Alya will do anything to find Eli, even if it means leaving a trail of destruction in her wake.
*"starlightverse" referring to the full storyline, which is three books in total if I ever get that far I mean When I get that far
Back burnered but I might briefly resurrect and post about them without warning:
The Long, Long Way to Kaminatra (tag: tllwtk) • intro post
An unlikely duo is conscripted to escort a princess with a target on her head to her coronation in a faraway city. Hijinks ensue, the plot does some twists, etc. etc.
Magpie Jones
- vampire romance wip. what can I say - (girl Comes Back Wrong to her small hometown after her first year of university)
