cant believe ive made furry au AND college au of characters that are all technically in an au of what they were originally created for but now the things they were originally created for are the aus instead
#ok its not really furry au i just drew them as furries. whatever#the college one IS kind of fun to think about tho just on the basis of like. putting them in a situation they would not otherwise be in#& working out how they would react to scenarios they would not normally encounter . i do kind of think it has helped develop them even#outside of the au tbh. so like even tho its not anything i plan to actually do anything with its still useful for when i kind of feel like#im kind of. idk stagnating i guess? with their Main Thing. put them in a situation & see how they react without having to worry about#whether its Relevant to the actual story bc this isnt the actual story. its a silly au & the rules dont apply here.#uhh idk where i was going w this. im tired. also the way mobile crops tags means idfk what i already wrote so#anyway. i do think its important to note that like. in this college au oli & jules are still vampires & cameron is still a half demon. this#is not normal human au bc thats boring. oli still eats people. jules has to take night classes & also he did get sick from that sandwich#cameron... well cameron is kind of complicated & im not gonna get into rn bc i havent even gotten into all that re: the *regular* story yet#they get worse & theyre better for it. is all you really need to know#ocs#oc: oli#oc: jules#oc: cameron

Yknow, if you dont mind me rambling about this for a minute-
I genuinely thing that Bendy: The Cage would be a great opportunity to introduce Ink!Grant, both in a fittingly thematic way and one that makes sense depending on how B:TC plays out. Because:
Grant, out of all the og cast from the first game, is kinda the only one left who could show up and be a threat to Henry/Joey. Wally, Shawn, Thomas, and irl Allison are all alive and arent in the cycle, Tom and Allison are our allies, the ink demon is too busy fucking with audrey, susie is dead at this point in the story, sammy doesnt seem aware of whats even going on at the end of batdr, jack is just a searcher, and bertrum and norman are both disembodied heads who cant do anything anyway (and lacie died with the bendyland storyline ripppp). So, out of everyone, he is the only one who hasnt shown up yet and would still have the motive to antagonize henry/joey (whether that being from antagonizing joey specifically or just being antagonistic in general from madness).
Plus, if we go with the idea that joey accompanies henry in b:tc and doesnt just show up last minute to take the end reel and dip, Grant would be the perfect antagonist against memory!joey as a living manifestation of the consequences of joeys actions. And obviously, Grant isnt the only character that joey hurt, but his suffering was a direct consequence of joeys negligence and fierce denial of the reality in front of him: that his studio was failing.
And its because of this that grant ended up forsaking his own health into trying to keep the studio afloat by himself, which ultimately led him to going mad and dying of ink poisoning. And yknow where would be the perfect place to find Grant in the cycle? With the rest of the crazy bitches in The Pit, of course!!!
And look, i know that the chances of him showing up and being actually relevant to the plot and not just an easter egg character is like, slim to none, BUT I CAN DREAM, OK-
And yeah its also bc i want him to beat some ass he absolutely deserves it <3
Now someone tell themeatly so i dont throw him into the sun for adding more 5 second randos well never see or hear from again /hj
This is my only hope for the new bendy game. BC LIKE,,,IF THERE EVER WAS A TIME FOR HIM TO SHOW UP I FEEL LIKE NOW WOULD BE THE TIME-
ANDNWKFKSKKFJEJFKE HELP....YOURE SO RIGHT. GRANT DESERVES TO GET THEIR ASS.

Thoughts on the Tanjiro and Nezuko role swap au?
Oh i love the swap au!! I think abt it alot in my own time. Ive always wanted to like, make my own content abt it but i tend to get pretty stuck on the mechanics of everything
Like, taking the world building of kny and applying it to a swap is super interesting to me, and i like trying to work it out. But there are a lot of specifics in kny that are harder to work around in a swap au. But thats not a bad thing! If anything it leads to more interesting story telling because it ensures that the swap isnt to 1 to 1. its just, a lot of work. and would take a lot of planning. If i were to like, write out a timeline of how i think the swap au would go, id have to figure out exactly how the mechanics and all the plot reasoning first. Cuz the way i see, it once you establish the world and lore rules, you can better mold the characters around that.
To start, demon tanjiro is such an interesting concept on its own. I feel hes the easier of the two to establish a character for, because we have his canon series counterpart to go off of. We can pick and choose from the many traits we’re given in canon and apply them to demon tanjiro, and its really fun reinterpreting them. Demon tanjiro basically takes the whole Im The Eldest Sibling trait to the extreme, and turning it into what giudes his reasoning now that he's stuck in a demon mindset (presumably similar to canon nezukos). Older Brother tanjiro is the best. :D
I can still see him being that little ray of sunshine he always is and just, being stuck to nezukos side at all time, whether it be in protection, or just wanting to help her with daily tasks. Like a lost little puppy <:D. Hes just fueled by the desire to be productive and helpful because that's where he thrives, and hes just going to do what feels correct in his little demon mind. I can see him like, taking things out of nezukos hands wordlessly to carry for her because his reasoning is, “little sister shouldnt be the one carrying everything. Im the eldest sibling! I will do the heavy lifting for her!! >:[].” meanwhile nezuko just like, “brother can i pls have my bento box back pls i appreciate ur help but that's not what i need <:3!!” hes just trying to help in anyway he can, even if he doesn't fully understand why/what hes doing.

I feel tanjiros presence would also be very important to nezuko. Shes young, and the only one there for her is her demon brother. While hes not able to speak, nezuko would still have one sided conversations with him. And in moments wheres shes unsure of what to do, she’d just think, “what would oniichan do?” because even if he can’t offer advice now, he’s still her older brother, and she looks up to him, demon or not.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Roleswap nezuko is interesting. We already have such a well established personality for tanjiro, but nezuko can be a little tricky since we dont have a lot to go off of in canon. Theres bits and pieces we can take and interpret to the best of our abilities, and it kinda makes it more fun (for me at least) cuz we get to see how people interpret her character in so many different ways. :]
i actually came up with a design for her! nezuko is canonically good a sewing, or at least knows how to. her haori is made of up her old kimono and obi. i feel the checker pattern is important to keep because its kinda what all the kamados wear. also shorts/hand cropped uniform pants. i wanted to do pants but they didnt mesh well with her black leg wraps </3 (also pluggin my old hair timeline post bc its relevant <3)
(i didnt design a swap tanjiro bc hed just look like ep 1 tanjiro but muzzled. but he might have an outfit change like nezuko did in ep one.)
My TLDR version of early story swap nezuko is basically: During the beginning of her journey as a official demon slayer, she is veryyyy determined to change tanjiro back to a human as fast as she can, and is essentially bee-lining it from mission to mission. People are fine, but she is not going to linger for too long if she doesnt have to. Shes got her brother! And thats all the company she needs :]. this of course changes as she meets, trains, and fights alongside other people. She learns to slow down and appreciate the people around her more and how they can help her cause too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When trying to write out how the events of a swap au would go, i try to take nezukos character into mind ensure her experiences are different from tanjiros. Because they're different characters, different people, even if they face off against the same demon/character, they're going approach it differently, and have different takeaways from the things they experience
Now as much as i would love to write out/draw detailed scenes, that's a lot of work and planning and time that i do not really have atm. And i'd need to figure out A Lot of in world mechanics in order to create something I would be proud of. But in the meantime, i can establish a scene with nezukos' emotional beats to get a feel for her :D!
In the giyu confrontation scene in ep 1, nezukos first “emotional” arc would have a very different setup, almost opposite to tanjiros. When giyu steals the now fully demon tanjiro from nezuko, she’d be really angry at him. Shes angry someone thinks they can just take her brother away from her, dare to hurt him even, just because they think theyre stronger, just because think they know whats right (giyu ofc is just doing his best but. she doesnt know that </3). At first she’d try to retaliate, fight back immediately, in any way she physically can to get tanjiro back, but of course it wouldnt work out very gracefully. Shes no where near skilled enough to face a hashira, but she doesnt care. Her actions are blinded by her grief and rage from any rational thought. All she sees is this man stabbing her brother, threatening to kill him, and shes the only one who can save him. she has too. hes all shes got left. and this man is in threatening that. She’d tire herself out pretty quickly and fall to the ground, to tired to make another move. When giyu sees this, she’d get talked at for being too brash, running into a situation without thinking, without a plan, with only a goal in mind and no way to execute it. In a battle, you need to remember the people that youre trying to protect, not just the target youre trying to destroy. You need to remember who youre fighting for, cuz you cant fight for them if youre dead. Anyway funny axe throw scene now [insert plot things that happen that i have yet yo work out yet because the involve swap tanjiro. hes gonna be intersting] and we’re done. Even if her efforts to save her brother didnt turn out, there is potential to hone that determination into something, and giyu recognizes this. He believes that its something nezuko can effectively use if trained properly, maybe even help her find answers for her brother. After waking up, giyu would send the kamados off to urokodakis to be trained.
TLDR nezuko has really bad tunnel vision <3
We’re told in canon that Nezuko was not afraid to stand up to an adult if they were being mean, even if she's the smaller one in the situation. This trait is exhibited through her actions in Nezuko vs Daki, and I thought it was good scene to reference for how this scene might play out. i find the situation to be similar here. While it may seem out of her gentle character archetype, weve seen time and time again how fiercely she protects the people she cares about. hell, we even see her do the same thing in this scene in ep 1 when tanjiro is passed out!! In this moment if swap, she’s in shock, having just lost her entire family. she has already broke, this is just pushing it!!
i reallly wanna write more for this post but it is already. long lol. i have a few blurbs of texts about certain topics, and hopefully i can share them someday because i!! really like thinking abt this stuff! i really want to solidify and share my interpretation of demon tanjiro and how he works. things like how nezuko approaches battle and her overall fighting style. how the kamados fight together and help each other protect those they care about. maybe one day!
#god i have so much to say so much i wanna draw#but alas. i have been demoted to Poor College Student#kny#demon slayer#Kimetsu no Yaiba#nezuko#tanjiro#giyu#nezuko kamado#tanjiro kamado#giyu tomioka#roleswap au
humaniterations (dot) net/2014/10/13/an-anarchist-perspective-on-the-red-lotus/ this article from oct 2014 is very dense — truly, a lot to unpack here, but I feel like you would find this piece interesting. I would love it if you shared your thoughts on the points that stood out to you, whether you agree or disagree. you obv don’t have to respond to it tho, but I’m sending it as an ask jic you feel like penning (and sharing) a magnificent essay, as is your wont 💕
article
i know this took me forever 2 answer SORRY but i just checked off all the things on my to do list for the first time in days today so. Essay incoming ladies!
ok im SO glad u sent me this bc it’s so so good. it’s a genuinely thoughtful criticism of the politics in legend of korra (altho i think its sometimes a little mean to korra unnecessarily like there’s no reason to call her a “petulant brat” or say that she throws tantrums but i do understand their point about her being an immature and reactionary hero, which i’ll get back to) and i think the author has a good balance between acknowledging like Yeah the lok writers were american liberals and wrote their show accordingly and Also writing a thorough analysis of lok’s politics that felt relevant and interesting without throwing their hands up and saying this is all useless liberal bullshit (which i will admit that i tend to do).
this article essentially argues that the red lotus antagonists of s3 were right. And that’s not an uncommon opinion i think but this gives it serious weight. Like, everything that zaheer’s gang did was, in context, fully understandable. of course the red lotus would be invested in making sure that the physically and spiritually and politically most powerful person in the world ISNT raised by world leaders and a secret society of elites that’s completely unaccountable to the people! of course the red lotus wants to bring down tyrannical governments and allow communities to form and self govern organically! and the writers dismiss all of that out of hand by 1. consistently framing the red lotus as insane and murderous (korra never actually gives zaheer’s ideas a chance or truly considers integrating them into her own approach) 2. representing the death of the earth queen as not just something that’s not necessarily popular (what was with mako’s bootlicker grandma, i’d love to know) but as something that causes unbelievable violence and chaos in ba sing se (which, like, a lot of history and research will tell you that people in disasters tend towards prosocial behaviors). so the way the story frames each of these characters and ideologies is fascinating because like. if you wanted to write season 3 of legend of korra with zaheer as the protagonist and korra as the antagonist, you wouldn’t actually have to change the sequence of events at all, really. these writers in particular and liberal writers in general LOVE writing morally-gray-but-ultimately-sympathetic characters (like, almost EVERY SINGLE fire nation character in the first series, who were full on violent colonizers but all to a degree were rehabilitated in the eyes of the viewer) but instead of framing the red lotus as good people who are devoted to justice and freedom and sometimes behave cruelly to get where theyre trying to go, they frame them as psychopaths and murderers who have good intentions don’t really understand how to make the world a better place.
and the interesting thing about all this, about the fact that the red lotus acted in most cases exactly as it should have in context and the only reason its relegated to villain status is bc the show is written by liberals, is that the red lotus actually points out really glaring sociopolitical issues in universe! like, watching the show, u think well why the fuck HASN’T korra done anything about the earth queen oppressing her subjects? why DOESN’T korra do anything about the worse than useless republic president? why the hell are so many people living in poverty while our mains live cushy well fed lives? how come earth kingdom land only seems to belong to various monarchs and settler colonists, instead of the people who are actually indigenous to it? the show does not want to answer these questions, because american liberal capitalism literally survives on the reality of oppressive governments and worse than useless presidents and people living in poverty while the middle/upper class eats and indigenous land being stolen. if the show were to answer these questions honestly, the answer would be that the status quo in real life (and the one on the show that mirrors real life) Has To Change.
So they avoid answering these questions honestly in order for the thesis statement to be that the status quo is good. and the only way for the show to escape answering these questions is for them to individualize all these broad social problems down into Good people and Bad people. so while we have obvious bad ones like the earth queen we also have all these capitalists and monarchs and politicians who are actually very nice and lovely people who would never hurt anyone! which is just such an absurd take and it’s liberal propaganda at its best. holding a position of incredible political/economic power in an unjust society is inherently unethical and maintaining that position of power requires violence against the people you have power over. which is literally social justice 101. but there’s literally no normal, average, not-politically-powerful person on the show. so when leftist anarchism is presented and says that destroying systems that enforce extreme power differentials is the only way to bring peace and freedom to all, the show has already set us up to think, hey, fuck you, top cop lin beifong and ford motor ceo asami sato are good people and good people like them exist! and all we have to do to move forward and progress as a society is to make sure we have enough good individuals in enough powerful positions (like zuko as the fire lord ending the war, or wu as the earth king ending the monarchy)! which is of course complete fiction. liberal reform doesn’t work. but by pretending that it could work by saying that the SYSTEM isnt rotten it’s just that the people running it suck and we just need to replace those people, it automatically delegitimizes any radical movements that actually seek to change things.
and that’s the most interesting thing about this article to me is that it posits that the avatar...might actually be a negative presence in the world. the avatar is the exact same thing: it’s a position of immense political and physical power bestowed completely randomly, and depending on the moral character and various actions of who fills that position at any given time, millions of people will or won’t suffer. like kyoshi, who created the fascist dai li, like roku, who refused to remove a genocidal dictator from power, like aang, who facilitated the establishment of a settler colonial state on earth kingdom land. like korra! she’s an incredibly immature avatar and a generally reactionary lead. i’ve talked about this at length before but she never actually gets in touch with the needs of the people. she’s constantly running in elite circles, exposed only to the needs and squabbles of the upper class! how the hell is she supposed to understand the complexities of oppression and privilege when she was raised by a chess club with inordinate amounts of power and associates almost exclusively with politicians and billionaires?? from day 1 we see that she tends to see things in very black and white ways which is FINE if you’re a privileged 17 yr old girl seeing the world for the first time but NOT FINE if you’re the single most powerful person in the world! Yeah, korra thinks the world is probably mostly fine and just needs a little whipping into shape every couple years, because all she has ever known is a mostly fine world! in s1 when mako mentions that he as a homeless impoverished teenager worked for a gang (which is. Not weird. Impoverished people of every background are ALWAYS more likely to resort to socially unacceptable ways of making money) korra is like “you guys are criminals?????!!!!!” she was raised in perfect luxury by a conservative institution and just never developed beyond that. So sure, if the red lotus raised her anarchist, probably a lot would’ve been different/better, but....they didn’t. and korra ended up being a reactionary and conservative avatar who protected monarchs and colonialist politicians. The avatar as a position is completely subject to the whims of whoever is currently the avatar. and not only does that suck for everyone who is not the avatar, not only is it totally unfair to whatever kid who grows up knowing the fate of the world is squarely on their shoulders, but it as a concept is a highly individualist product of the authors’ own western liberal ideas of progress! the idea that one good leader can fix the world (or should even try) based on their own inherent superiority to everyone else is unbelievably flawed and ignores the fact that all real progress is brought about as a result of COMMUNITY work, as a result of normal people working for themselves and their neighbors!
the broader analysis of bending was really interesting to me too, but im honestly not sure i Totally agree with it. the article pretty much accepts the show’s assertion that bending is a privilege (and frankly backs it up much better than the original show did, but whatever), and i don’t think that’s NECESSARILY untrue since it is, like, a physical advantage (the author compares it to, for example, the fact that some people are born athletically gifted and others are born with extreme physical limitations), but i DO think that it discounts the in universe racialization of bending. in any sequel to atla that made sense, bending as a race making fact would have been explored ALONGSIDE the physical advantages it bestows on people. colonialism and its aftermath is generally ignored in this article which is its major weakness i think, especially in conjunction with bending. you can bring up the ideas the author did about individual vs community oriented progress in the avatar universe while safely ignoring the colonialism, but you can’t not bring up race and colonialism when you discuss bending. especially once you get to thinking about how water/earth/airbenders were imprisoned and killed specifically because bending was a physical advantage, and that physical advantage was something that would have given colonized populations a means of resistance and that the fire nation wanted to keep to itself.
i think that’s the best lens thru which to analyze bending tbh! like in the avatar universe bending is a tool that different ethnic groups tend to use in different ways. at its best, bending actually doesn’t represent social power differences (despite representing a physical power difference) because it’s used to represent/maintain community solidarity. like, take the water tribe. katara being the last waterbender, in some way, makes her the last of a part of swt CULTURE. the implication is that when there were a lot of waterbenders in the south, they dedicated their talents to building community and helping their neighbors, because this was something incredibly culturally important and important to the water tribe as a community. the swt as a COLLECTIVE values bending for what it can do for the entire tribe, which counts for basically every other talent a person can have (strength, creativity, etc). the fire nation, by contrast, distorts the community value of bending by racializing it: anyone who bends an element that isn’t fire is inherently NOT fire nation (and therefore inherently inferior) and, because of the physical power that bending confers, anyone who bends an element that isn’t fire is a threat to fire nation hegemony. and in THAT framework of bending, it’s something that intrinsically assigns worth and reifies race in a way that’s conveniently beneficial to the oppressor.
it IS worth talking about how using Element as a way to categorize people reifies nations, borders, and race in a way that is VERY characteristic of white american liberals. i tried to be conscious of that (and the way that elements/bending can act in DIFFERENT ways, depending on cultural context) but i think it’s pretty clear that the writers did intend for element to unequivocally signify nation (and, by extension, race), which is part of why they screwed up mixed families so bad in lok. when they’ve locked themselves into this idea that element=nation=race, they end up with sets of siblings like mako and bolin or kya tenzin and bumi, who all “take” after only one parent based on the element that they bend. which is just completely stupid but very indicative of how the writers actually INTENDED element/bending to be a race making process. and its both fucked up and interesting that the writers display the same framework of race analysis that the canonical antagonists of atla do.
anyway that’s a few thoughts! thank u again for sending the article i really loved it and i had a lot of fun writing this <3
ok i have thoughts about the concept that john silver actually is solomon little - it came up in this one fic and it entranced me and got me brainstorming. that: in the very moment gates found him standing over the old cook, he made up the name John Silver on the spot. maybe it was the actual cook's name even, but just That Idea!!
theres the side of me that finds that so TRAGIC. like nooo john silver is enough of a muddy identity made mostly of stories and how you relate to other people, and now its not actually even your name!!! noOooOoo
but on the other hand, the implications of it are so intriguing. it makes more sense for why silver uses solomon little as a recurring character in his made up stories. and whether his orphanage story was true or not is so hard to tell, but what if he was just talking about himself?
what does it mean for silver, what couldve possibly been so.. horrific about his past, so private that he didnt even tell madi and flint his real name? that he hid it in plain sight in the stories he told, maybe secretly hoping someone would figure it out?
what if he had told more stories, and the holes in continuity got more obvious, and flint called him out. what if, one time, silver is a little tipsy and when he's telling an anecdote he forgets not to talk in 1st person? i want the fic
but yes. he didnt want to tell flint about his past full stop, about the tragedy he experienced, bc it had no meaning? no sense? so it wasnt relevant to him now, like he said in the swordfight flashback
but how could his own NAME not be relevant? how could his past be so bad that he doesnt even want to cling onto that last bit of his old identity?
this is PURE headcanoning now and brainstorming but i find it SO intriguing
like silver thinks his past isnt relevant to how he is now, but i dont know to what extent thats fully true. it has to have some impact, and one is that he hates looking or feeling weak - he likes learning and knowing everything about other ppl while they know nothing about him, because otherwise, that would make him vulnerable? and he's barely ever emotionally open like madi is the only one he showed real open affection to, real desperate loving. hes way more sentimental and loving than he lets on
i have NO idea where im going with this so pls forgive nonsensicalness but i'd love to hear other opinions and if anyone knows fics that deal with this idea i would fucking inhale it!!!
#black sails#black sails meta#john silver#silver meta#black sails spoilers#solomon little#fanfic inspo#my meta#my post#trust me idk where this is goingand its all justmy vague#late night interpetations#but have at ye#also for the life of me i dont remember what fic it was#i read too many#i dontthink it was vowelinthug tho#flint instantly compared silver to king solomon#and quoted from solomon in the bible?#and it was both poignant and amusing
The one with superpowers
oh fuck here we go why would you bring this up this is a concept ive been obsessed with but I havent explored it yet but I already love it kdufhgkehg
[3k words each, fic series] nct dream x reader, high school!au, superhero!au
in which nct dream have superpowers, and its kind of a big deal. so this would be set in a world where no one else has superpowers - how did they get them? we dont know; rogue camping trip, trip to space, struck by lightning (all six of them, together?), all bitten by different radioactive insects, who knows who cares. either way, they have superpowers, and yeah they dont exactly go and fight crime every day (maybe on weekends if they've finished all their homework) but they try and do their bit to make the world a better place. this would be a series in which each member has their own love story, too, I-
hyuck is able to read minds - and he uses its ineffectiveness as an excuse to get out of fighting crime with the rest of them because “what am I going to do? recite their kinks until they just TELL me where the stolen car is?” - but he also uses it to tease his classmate, y/n, about her own thoughts. of course, hes actually a good guy so it differs from “I know you think its hot when I clench my jaw” to “stop stressing about the final, I know you studied really hard so just relax, please.” when y/n finds out, its because theyre studying together and he suddenly blurts out that she's thinking way too much and stressing way too much that its making him stressed, but she knows hes not just being annoying by saying “yoUrE tHinKing ToO LouD” so he actually tells her. she makes him recite word for word what shes thinking to clarity though. (theres probably a few times when y/n has obviously thought that hes very attractive, but donghyuck thinks shes talking about one his friends because theyre together, and cue a lil bit of jealous hyuck.)
jaemin can control the weather, slightly. he cant conjure up storms or lightning or drastically change weather patterns (well he can, but he shouldn't) but he does have a habit of creating little black clouds around his friends heads at games night when renjun gets particularly angry with him. his emotions do have an effect on his abilities; when hes in a good mood, the sun shines brighter or its a little warmer, or when hes in a bad mood, it might drizzle lightly or the sun will disappear behind some clouds. his friend and crush!y/n has agreed to go on a date with him, and his abilities get exposed when she grabs his hand for the first time, interlocking their hands. the lightning that cascades quickly down their joined hands and the lightning that suddenly appears from nowhere kind of clue y/n in that Something Here Is Weird. hes confesses that he can control the weather and, to prove it, creates a little snow cloud above their heads to snow on them as they share their first kiss omg im soft
jeno has super speed AND super strength. not ridiculous amounts - he can barely lift the back of a car 10cm - but hes notably faster than everyone else. hes an amazing athlete, and uses his abilities at home and around his friends a lot, but otherwise is very subtle. complains that the rest of the world is a little too slow for him and completes tests extremely fast, which, of course, pisses off goody two shoes and neighbour!y/n because she KNOWS he was playing basketball with his friends all of last night and NOT studying. she does a little immoral spying and sees him move faster than anyone should be capable of moving, and confronts him about it. (he likes her because he feels like shes the one person who can keep up with him. this isnt relevant bc we havent gotten into the love story aspect yet but hoo damn thats a good line.)
renjun has the ability to turn see things before they happen. the ability is kind of useless because half the time theyre either things that will happen in less than a minute or so vague that he can’t even interpret what is going on, but he has the ability. some sort of instinct kicks in when hes fighting or high on adrenaline, which makes him a pretty good opponent, so hes on the martial arts team at school. he meets stranger!y/n on the street when he swiftly grabs an umbrella and holds it over her head to prevent a bird pooping on her, and they hit it off. they exchange numbers and text for a while, and they develop feelings for one another (though they both think its unrequited). a few times, renjun has let slip a few things that will happen while theyre talking, and y/n is suspicious because all his predictions come true. until, a martial arts competition brings them face to face again, where y/n and renjun are opponents. the first two rounds are easy for renjun because hes always able to preempt her attacks, but she seems to catch on, and he becomes unsure whether to let her win and risk losing his streak and medal, or defeat her and risk exposing himself.
chenle has the ability of teleportation, which would be awesome if he could actually use it. since he cant know for sure if there will be someone at the other end who could see him, hes basically only able to use his abilities at home or when hes with his friends. (he cant even use it to travel because he has to envision the place clearly in his mind to go there, or be within sight of the place.) shy!y/n accidentally discovers his secret when he appears literally out of nowhere while his parents are away and shes housesitting - shes there once a day for 15 minutes to water the plants and bring in the mail yet the one time he forgets a book at home before school and teleports there, shes there. she keeps his secret for him.
jisung has the ability to turn invisible. he actually uses this ability a lot, and subconsciously turns invisible when hes shy. as long as hes careful the disappearance isnt sudden, he can do it pretty much any time of the day. his crush!y/n asks him if he wants to come over to watch a movie they'd been talking about, and when he does, he trips on the rug in front of her couch, landing practically on top of her. hes so embarrassed he turns invisible, and y/n is so frightened she doesn’t know what to do. when he explains, though, she becomes used to it, and they use the ability to mess with his friends and teachers during school.
3) 3 films you could watch for the rest of your life and not get bored of?
i do not actually watch many movies. one that IMMEDIATELY came to mind though? the princess bride. i watched it enough to re-tell the script end-to-end when i was a kid bc im insane
6) what’s the best and worst part of being online/a creator?
best: i can give advice to people in a similar situation to myself and they (allegedly) actually want to listen and grow from whatever relevant wisdom i have to give worst: the amount of information i am expected (and even required) to provide to give context to my situation. and for many, it will never be enough!
9) tell a story about your childhood
this unlocked a memory
the first and last time my family of 4 did something together that was of my own initiative was play l/ttle b/g pl4net 3 together. it was a timed co-op level that required use of all 4 controllers. i alone could not operate 4 controllers, i had no available friends (if i did it wouldn't be enough people), and thusly i asked the three of them. i was patient in teaching my parents how the controller worked through my mother repeatedly saying how un-intuitive she felt it to be (which is fair) and after giving them colorful costumes to tell each other apart, we began to play.
there was multiple rounds of not quite meeting the time, but that's fine, it's just a game and we could try again. i enjoyed sharing my special interest of the time with them. my younger brother, however, quickly grew frustrated. for context, with a deep anxiety about losing his baby teeth upon having lost one, my father had given him a $20 bill earlier this morning to assuage the dread and attempt to make it a positive experience.
to express his frustration, he had gotten up and stormed off to his room. i let him be, and desperately tried to keep momentum with teaching 2 adults how to use a PS4 controller while operating two of them myself. when my brother had returned, he told the room that he had ripped up his $20 bill. my father rose his voice- he does so rarely- and sent him to his room. to help him (brother) calm down, they went on a walk in the neighborhood.
the session had died. with two players out of the picture and my mother still trying to understand one controller, i could not ask her to operate two, nor could i reasonably operate three. we stopped playing, i turned the game off, and have had no such fortune ever since.
12) what’s some good advice you want to share?
when buying the first supplying wave of utensils or cookware for your kitchen, buy cheap stuff first. whatever breaks, wears, or tears first is what you use the most, and can reliably replace with an expensive appliance that will get its moneys worth. you may or may not use an ice cream maker that much to warrant a super-good one.
also, get silicone spatulas. not hard plastic, because it scratches nonstick coating and leaves microplastics, and metal DEFINITELY scratches nonstick coating.
15) what do you think of when you hear the word “home”?
decades-old garden of ferns that grow up to your chest. a lilac bush so tall it's a tree. tiger lilies as a vibrant surprise every summer. chickadees coming to the feeder, and steller jays that will land in your hand if you have peanuts.
the wave of stench from pets past and present the moment you dare walk in the front door. a window the sun never wants to shine through. laundry older than you are up to your knees. mice, beetles, spiders, moths, fruit flies, dust, dust.
18) do you believe in ghosts and/or aliens?
your energy definitely lingers when you're gone, positive or negative, and presents itself in bizarre ways (especially with electric tech like cameras)
aliens are inevitable. the universe is too damn big. whether or not they're, like, here isnt exactly a big concern unless they have the guts to make it a little more fuckin obvious they are. i mean CMON
21) are you a spiritual person?
...... maybe? what i believe isnt written down by somebody else, and is thus boring to explain at parties.
24) what’s one thing you’re proud of yourself for?
question #1 i had to save to come back to no matter how sleep-deprived, dehydrated, unfed, or suicidal i am, i can get out of bed to go to work.
27) any nicknames?
my gf calls me "wionel" when she bullies me lol
30) what’s one thing that never fails to make you happy/happier?
question #2 i had to save to come back to my partner. i don't want to abuse that too much. i dread, sometimes, that one day that spiritual balm might not work anymore.
33) any hobbies?
i'm drawing again. i intended to abandon all of my hobbies in favor of working, but my gf had encouraged me to start again.
36) are you an open book or do you have walls up?
no one in-person is worth opening to except my partner, and so i just... don't. i have cultivated my online space quite carefully. i can be open here.
39) youtuber you’ve been obsessed with and why?
IF YOU LIKE FACTORIO? dear god go watch Michael Hendriks
he has a lot of challenge videos, mostly uses text to communicate to the viewer and doesn't often talk, and he also has m/necr4ft challenges if you look at his older uploads. but i have the 'tism and like factorio sue me
SnK Chapter 92 Poll Results
The chapter 92 poll closed with 500 reported entries.
RATE THE CHAPTER (486 responses)
This chapter had a better reception than the last one. Seeing Reiner and Zeke was cited as a factor by many. Also the action was hard to resist.
that was an interesting way to set up a new story arc. i don’t really know whether i liked it or not, and i’m really eager to see what’s going on with our main crew. i’m gonna reserve most of my judgement until there’s a bigger picture though, so i can fully see what’s going on and why Isayama decided to start like this.
I have no idea what’s going on anymore.
Switching perspectives and presenting intel for readers from new, fresh and different povs is an ability Isayama has like no other, tho can be criticized for its abruptness and the kinda unexplained way it came crashing to the story..but nevertheless I enjoyed it and I think Isayama aced it.
It’s odd, I can see the effort made for us to connect with these new characters. But that just isn’t working for me sadly. While this and the previous chapters have been useful, I would have preferred more SC content. In particular reactions to the recent losses
I have no idea if it was intentional or not but Zeke’s dramatic “War is bad” line right as he chucked a fistful of rocks at the boats was hilarious. Like stahp Isayama I can’t handle all this Edge.
Zeke did the superhero landing, now I can die in peace
I’m grateful as we’ve finally seen Zeke’s method of turning humans into titans and I believe it has nothing to do with his titan form since he’s able to use it without shifting
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF REINER’S NEW LOOK? (482 responses)
Unsurprisingly, 86% of the fandom found something here to agree on. Reiner scored extremely well on the scale from “No Thanks” to “Hello Daddy”!
Reiner is getting hotter with each passing chapter. I fear we may rapidly be approaching a state of ultimate hotness that may be too much for us mere mortals to handle.
I am sad that “Hot Dayum Daddy-o” Is not an acceptable answer for Reiner’s hotness rating.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF ZEKE’S SHORT HAIR? (483 responses)
While the results were still favorable, Zeke’s long luscious locks were missed by a significant portion of the fandom. The scale from “No Thanks” to “Hella Hot” had the largest percentage of respondents sat right in the middle.
THE DRUGGED ELDIANS BEING USED AS WEAPONS WAS THE MOST TRAGIC MOMENT OF THE CHAPTER. WHAT WAS THE #2? (483 responses)
I was very curious what this result would be. I watch the poll numbers shift back and forth between sympathy for Reiner and the big picture view of Eldians as whole. In the end “The world’s view of Eldians” narrowly edged out Reiner’s flashback and comment about walls at the 2nd most tragic moment.
Seeing what actually fighting within the walls has done to Reiner–his trauma, etc. was an excellent contrast to the relative innocence the new cast gives off, and it’s heartbreaking to consider that the Warriors we know may have once been the same way. Eren & co. please arrive promptly and save them.
Reiners flashback scene was the most impactful moment in my opinion. It was so heartbreaking.
I thought poop machine was bad, titan carpet bombing is even more wtf
Devastating. To see the Eldians being used as mindless weapons was severely disturbing. And Zeke finally realising that War is indeed a terrible thing.
These chapters are hella intense and enlightening about the world outside. It’s still really sick though. Totally sick I can’t even.
LAST MONTH THERE WAS OVERWHELMING SUPPORT FOR GABI. HAS THIS CHAPTER CHANGED YOUR OPINION OF HER? (445 responses)
Gabi’s glee in the last chapter didn’t sit well with some people. In this chapter she was more sedate, but still very much in it to win it, even accusing Falco of having ulterior motives for rescuing that dying enemy soldier. While the majority claim to have had no real shift in opinion, I urge you to look at the next question to see how popularity numbers have changed.
Her sympathy for her older warriors. that line with “Reiner… be careful” killed me
Her character seems more sympathetic. She was kind of a brat last chapter. This chapter she seems to actually see the realities of war.I was supposed to have an opinion on her?
I lost a lot of respect for her when she didn’t support Falco’s choice to help the soldier from the other side
Something that stuck out to me was Gabi’s concern for Reiner, “Reiner… be careful.” It’s a bit odd, she wants his power (aka eat him) but is concerned for him?
I think it was kinda satisfying to see Gabi’s view on the world change since she seemed so cocky before hand.
I was supposed to have an opinion on her?
WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE OF THE NEW RECRUITS? (471 responses)
In the last chapter poll, support for Gabi is overwhelming. She had 38% of the popular vote and Colt was second with 25%. Falco was sitting in 3rd with only 19%. But look at how opinions have changed! Falco is new best boy with 37.2% picking him as favorite while Gabi has dropped more than 10 percentage points.
Gabi and Falco warmed on me but not enough. I still want to spend the whole volume on Marley before moving on.
It was really disturbing to realize that Annie, Bertolt, Reiner, and Marcel were once probably just like Gabi, Falco, Udo, etc. They might have been idealistic, prone to kindness even to their enemies (like Falco)…
HAS REINER’S LUCK FINALLY RUN OUT? (474 responses)
The overwhelming majority think Reiner’s streak of immortality will continue. This is one of those times that I disagree. I think Reiner’s titan age plus the severity of his hit may have weakened him to the point of no return.
I’m still sad about Reiner’s potential fate but I have to get prepared for him to die next chapter or in the chapter after. Poor boy only dedicated his life to an imposed duty since childhood without a break, on top of losing everybody he loved.
Since Reiner’s been knocked out (again XD) it could be a good time for the next chapter to open up with a flashback and end with him waking up? He’s been kept alive for a while, and there’s obviously a reason for it.
Maybe im in denial but Reiner cant die yet, he’s the warrior that knows the enemy best and needs to teach someone to use the 3dmg (If he hasnt already in these 4 years)
WHO DO YOU THINK IS GOING TO INHERIT REINER’S TITAN FORM? (477 responses)
Last month 39.3% thought Reiner would keep his power. Confidence has grown slightly in chapter 92 with 42.3% thinking he’ll stay around a bit longer.
i hope reiner will not gonna die because of gabi , if isayama want to kill him no matter what i want him to die like a hero
I really don’t want Reiner and Zeke to be replaced, as I don’t see how that would add anything to the story and many conflicts would never be resolved.
WHO DO YOU THINK IS GOING TO INHERIT ZEKE’S TITAN FORM? (473 responses)
Last month 55.4% thought Zeke would keep his power. That number has increased to 58.6% with The Jaeger Brothers Reunion Tour cited as the primary reason.
The real difference here is that last month 26% thought Colt would be his successor. That number is down to only 16.3% with Falco gaining the difference.
I wish they would show why zeke was the holder of the key to the whole story.
I don’t think Zeke is going to get eaten, not soon, at least. He’s got so many plot points that require him
I can’t wait until Eren re-unites with Zeke.
Perhaps I’m really reaching, but I hope Zeke was genuine when he said he’d save Eren.
I refuse to bid Zeke farwell before he gets to see his lil bro once more
DA BEAST DADDY IS DA BEST DADDY.
WE GOT A LOOK AT GALLIARD’S EXTREME AGILITY. DO YOU THINK HE ATE YMIR? (474 responses)
Last month 39.8% of people thought Ymir was dead. While this question isnt identical, it carries the same thought. 69.2% of people think Galliard is a new and unique shifter and not a recycled Ymir.
While Gaillard is agile, Ymir’s titan didn’t have the special jaw design, which would be weird AF if she really was the “Jaw Titan.” So I’m pretty sure she’s still safe
I feel 50/50 about the probabilities of Galliard eating Ymir, but the agility he has is not a proof, i don’t believe the “every titan has a unique ability” thing.
I hope Ymir isn’t dead not just bc she’s my bae, but bc, contrary to Reiner to who I don’t see relevant to the story anymore, so, Ymir is…
YAMS my man dude bro I wanna know the dealy-o with Ymir ASAP thx
WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE PIECK AND GALLIARD’S HUMAN FORMS IN THE NEXT CHAPTER? (475 responses)
People are curious, but seeing Pieck and Galliard as humans is not as important as seeing the main cast.
I’m really hoping to see Galliard and Pieck’s human forms soon. Since there were many parallels between RBA and EMA and Zeke is said to be like a warrior Levi, I’m hoping for Galliard and Pieck to be like some warrior versions of Erwin and Hange.
I do want to see Galliard and Pieck’s human forms but not if it means we get another Marley chapter. It’s time to go back to the real protagonists.
HOW READY ARE YOU FOR THE MANGA TO MOVE BACK TO OUR MAIN CAST? (486 responses)
I’ll leave this one without my usual commentary :D
All I hoped for was to at least see Reiner and Zeke again. But I’m ready to see my children again next month. :’)
honestly I really want to see Eren’s side again, but I think it would be extremely entertaining to discover what exactly changed within the Walls and the Scouting Legion from Reiner/Zeke/Marley’s point of view once they will actually attack them. It would mean more surprises which is always good, no matter how much I’m dying to see what our other characters look like now.
please @ god i miss our main cast babies
I can’t wait to see Eren & Co! \>o</ Maybe Armin had grew his hair into a Ponytail too!
back to eren, please
fans are making too much drama for the recent lack of the main trio and the 104th squad. I’m more happy to learn about new characters outside the island and see differents points of view about the world
It’s all well and good to introduce new characters but this late in the story, after all these very dramatic plot/character changes and massive mystery revelations it’s a bit… abrupt, to suddenly be with all these new people. I feel like it’s a different series and no one told me about it.
WHICH CHARACTERS DO YOU GENERALLY ENJOY THE MOST (484 responses)
Last month 42.1% cited the 104th as faves; 33% favored the vets; 10.9% said the warriors. This month the warriors saw the a nice increase, moving up to 14.7%.
Final thoughts
There are more chapter thoughts in this post. If I didn’t publish your comment, please know that I read it and I thank you for the support. Even though these polls are more silly than serious, I enjoy getting a perspective that’s wider than my own. Thank you!
