#shepropchallenge day 15: con crunch/something you worked on until the last minute As you can imagine, I’m BEYOND excited to share pictures from my socially distanced shoot with @christopherrobinwetherell , so I was really glad when I checked my hours tracking app and confirmed that Ewok Village Leia was the costume I finished the closest to a con! I finished this two days before we flew to @starwarscelebration Chicago - which was really cutting it close for packing because I have to weigh and balance out all the suitcases to avoid fees! (I did a blog post on JenEyre.com about this). I made this out of cow suede from @tandyleather so it was HEAVY! The original was pig suede, but the store didn’t have full size pieces so I made it work. (And let me tell you putting an invisible zipper in cow suede is an experience 🤣) A lot of Leias use a synthetic suede that would have been much easier to use (and more comfortable and far cheaper) but it’s sold at a certain homophobic craft store chain where I absolutely refuse to shop.
