#shepropchallenge day 25: favorite accessory with a Cosplay I love Leia's saber so much and am so proud of myself for learning enough tinkercad to mod the file to accommodate a blade and a blue led flashlight. It's VERY fragile, so I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of the metal hilt I ordered, but I'm still so proud of this one. Pro tip, if you have a really fragile prop and you keep reminding your spouse to be careful with it, it’s a good idea to accidentally drop it yourself in front of them so you’re the one who breaks it and they realizes that you weren’t lying when you said it was fragile 😂. #shepropchallenge day 15: con crunch/something you worked on until the last minute As you can imagine, I’m BEYOND excited to share pictures from my socially distanced shoot with @christopherrobinwetherell , so I was really glad when I checked my hours tracking app and confirmed that Ewok Village Leia was the costume I finished the closest to a con! I finished this two days before we flew to @starwarscelebration Chicago - which was really cutting it close for packing because I have to weigh and balance out all the suitcases to avoid fees! (I did a blog post on JenEyre.com about this). I made this out of cow suede from @tandyleather so it was HEAVY! The original was pig suede, but the store didn’t have full size pieces so I made it work. (And let me tell you putting an invisible zipper in cow suede is an experience 🤣) A lot of Leias use a synthetic suede that would have been much easier to use (and more comfortable and far cheaper) but it’s sold at a certain homophobic craft store chain where I absolutely refuse to shop.
