i think too many people misinterpret what i mean when i say i ship billford. like no, i do not want them to be together happily eventually. i dont even want them to be together. the ship so goddamn toxic that there is only misery and old broken remnants of feelings and longing for something that couldve been but never will be. they will never be happy in each others lives and i want to keep it that way. dont get it twisted thinking im just shipping cute little yaoi and i want them to kiss in canon. no. this is something much deeper and intimate and painful. this aint my first Toxic Old Man Yaoi rodeo and it wont be my last. there is no happiness here.

I like bloodweave. Okay. But I DON'T like the version of them in fanfic where Astarion is a dick and Gale is like. Whining and pleading for him to be emotionally vulnerable (or just. Nice to him) prior to the relationship being established. Because that is just not accurate. Gale needs the player to express interest in him during his weave-teaching scene before he even considers hitting on them properly. Gale is entirely resigned to his fate and needs someone else to pull him away from it. Gale only starts being sweet and romantic and devoted after you accept his love confession and give him hope for the future. Gale says fuck all and then slinks away to cry privately if you break up with him.

Like he isn't chasing after people lmao. He isn't dropping to his knees and crying about anything much less this dickhead he met a week ago. He is overwhelmingly passive about literally everything personal to him up to and including his own death (provided there are no casualties/there is a good reason) until after the player expresses that they care about him. Astarion is not doing that in any of these fics.

Like Gale is friendly and a dork and doesn't wanna get murdered but he fully has a suicide plan. He thought the artefacts would help him survive but he didn't believe he'd ever truly live again. If Gale confessed and Astarion said/did like one (1) mean thing afterward Gale's romance is closed off forever. He's wandering into the forest to cry. He's killing himself immediately. His fragile ego and self worth can't take it. You have to understand that when we joke about him being pathetic it's not bc he's like. Sopping wet and chasing people down and begging for a scrap of attention. It's because he craves affection but would literally rather die than ask or even hope for it until someone else forces that hope back into his serotonin-deficient tadpole brain.

Holy shit I just realized that my dreams have a version of PotO (Broadway version) where the Phantom just fuckin shoots Raoul in his box and it apparently happens not long after Masquerade? Like in place of the Red Death scene they all go into the theatre and Raoul is in box 5 alone for some reason and Erik just. Shoots the poor guy with a period-typical pistol and disappears. Raoul recovers eventually but its like the turning point of the story yk.

It’s not easier to talk him out of ascension as a friend that’s just a myth :O just wanted to clear that up because idk who started the myth but damn it has spread. You get an extra insight check as his lover but that’s it.

ive done both & i feel like i remember having to pass something extra in the romance? entirely possible im getting my wires crossed or its that insight im recalling & passing it made it overall easier. + imo it would make sense anyway but maybe im giving the writing too much credit lmao. still in act 2 of the current playthrough (been wanting to play more xiv in the last few weeks so djhgf hit Pause on it for now until i feel like updating mods), might see if i can play with the console a bit & peel back the inner workings of the scene when i get there.

also who knows what that interaction will look like in future patches. patch 19: we have now made it so you can handwave the Entire conflict don't worry guys.

edit i also forgot on a different save file, i did this because i ASSUMED you had to but if you take out one of the ritual spawn you also don't have to worry lmfao. no one gets to do any rituals & it was all thanks to me deciding that fight needed to be harder than it already was.

ngl I think that The Princess Royal trying to make Su Rongqing into a legit 2ML romantic rival has really lost something good, because I sincerely found it hilarious in the novel how many times in the early chapters his obviously reborn ass kept trying to kindle something with her (while Playing It Cool and trying to stay in character & within norms)... and she keeps nudging him away from her & the Crown Prince's camp. Absolutely refusing to acknowledge or pick up what he's dropping down. (In the novel when he helps her hide in the Tuoba Yan HQ, he's clearly feeling some UST but she's just, 'uh, hello? Su daren?' and when he shows up repeatedly to the prision and she's like no, please do not come again, I really do not need your support in any way thx. oh fine, bring me a book. 😭)

She's basically like Jiang Xuening from SoKP, determined to save the Yan family from execution & exile, thus saving an old friend from going darkside, and he's playing from an entirely different script.

You know, I think I've finally figured out one of my biggest complaints about totk during my second playthrough. I think what it is, is that there's no real conflict, no stakes, nothing that forces the characters out of their comfort zones and engage with the seriousness of the world around them.

No one has any issues with each other or hardly dares to even have a single conflict or suspicion! I understand it's because nintendo wanted hyrule to have this sort of united front to contrast against Ganondorf's schemes- but it just loops back around to being fantastical and sorta ridiculous. You're telling me that all of hyrule gets all 24/7 and never has a single concern that cannot be fixed by simply patting each other on the back. What the hell is going ON
