If I have energy I want to draw out some designs for an au I'm spontaneously writing.

(Medieval times, there's a Prophecy. Nightmare rules over this kingdom and is supposed to complete this prophecy, he refuses to because it would harm the people. Dream was sent away and banished by Night because he was dis-illusioned into thinking the prophecy was a Good Thing abd what he was raised to complete. Night collected his Knights (Killer, Dust, Horror, and Cross most recently) and trains them and tells them the truth of the prophecy. They're loyal to him. One day the magic of the prophesy (Apple Magic) leaves Nightmare unexpectedly, returning him to the state he was in before he accepted the mantle. This puts a target on his back and gives Dream a huge advantage in maybe making a comeback. The Knight's decide that their King (newly a young lad and variably scared and frightened) must be protected and they run the kingdom as he normally would, while also ensuring he survives and that the prophecy can't be completed.)

Guys my mom woke up with what might be the flu today (she's fine, just feels a bit shit) and I am PRAYING I don't get it cause I've been sick during Christmas basically every year nearly since 2019 and if it happens again I'm committing a crime

How can I be normal at work when thoughts of Nate playing with Cindrel exist in my head?

Like more oft than not, Nate will be doing his thing and Cindrel will also be doing his thing but like....

The type of creature Cindrel is... they're very solitary. They have packs and stuff like that but they don't necessarily stick together all the time. They do, however, take good care of those that they deem "weaker" or "more vulnerable". Cindrel is a bit spoiled because Nate babied him a bit, but his spoiled nature does not mean he doesn't do this. On the contrary, it means that Cindrel is more protective of Nate than he naturally would be because of that inherent... need to protect his owner--who he knows is emotionally vulnerable.

Cindrel does a lot of rubbing up against Nate's legs, just so Nate knows he's there. He will squeeze into a chair while Nate is sitting in it just to be close. He'll get up on Nate's legs and just stare up at him, looking for pupil dilations and nervous, facial twitches, etc.

Needless to say, the thought of Nate just sitting down and playing with Cindrel is... extremely cute. Because it'll be less for Cindrel's benefit and more for Nate's. Sometimes, it'll be to distract him but others, it'll just be to engage him and to make sure he's doing alright.

Additionally: Cindrel being kind to you, because he is a mean little mf, is also indicative of how much he trusts you not to hurt Nate. So while Nate might be okay with someone, Cindrel likely wont be for a while and he will Not budge on it.

I just met Sherri (who is rad as all get out) and I'm going nuts over the dialogue you can trigger with her sisters. You've got Olivya and Cistina who both reach out to say something along the lines of "We're sisters!!! Stop this!!!" and subsequently get shot down with "I am going to throttle you right now for real. how's that for stopping"

But then you've got Cerya who goes "Surrender. Now." and Sherri responds with "GEEZ glad to see you too :/"
