Etta's Guide to Writeblr (March 2023)
So you fled here from Twitter/TikTok... Where to start?
Welcome to Writeblr! Pull up a chair, open those documents, and pour yourself a cup of your favorite tea, coffee, or cocoa. The first thing you'll want to do is start following other writers. Check out this post for recommendations! Search through the notes to find hundreds more. Since I made that post, a bunch of people mentioned they're lurking and still trying to figure out tumblr, so I thought I'd make this post to help people get settled.
How to set up your blog
Make your blog name something not resembling a pornbot - it can be whatever you want, anything fun goes, just not [name###]. If you include "writer" or "author" somewhere in the url it makes it easier to spot writeblrs at a glance but it's not a requirement
Change your profile to something that's not the default, Make sure you have a blog title, and add a little description in your blog header if you feel like it!
Make a pinned post introducing yourself (pls don't use your real name or any IDing information for privacy's sake, this isn't facebook), a short summary of your WIPs, and links if you have an author's website/newsletter/ao3/etc. You can check my pinned post for an example
Make intro posts for each WIP! You can spruce these up with graphics (canva and unsplash are both great free resources to make edits/moodboards), excerpts, lists of tropes, character intros, etc. Link to the WIP intro in your pinned post so it's easy to find! You can update these as often as needed
If you want to make character intros, go wild. If you can't draw, piccrew is a great option. Just start talking about your WIP!
Come up with a tagging system to keep your blog organized. I recommend individual wip tags or at least one for your original writing in general so it's easy to search for your work on your blog
Keep track of Taglists for your WIPs. Whenever you post a new thing about your story, tag the people who asked to be notified to make sure they see it! Only tag people who ask to join the taglist, but it's a good way to keep track of interest. It's normal to have multiple taglists for each story+ one general writing taglist.
How to make writer friends
Reblog their work and add nice comments, either in the tags, comments, or the reblog itself People notice regulars in their notes and appreciate the attention. I promise it's not weird to compliment a total stranger
If that's too intimidating, community events are your friend!
Weekly Ask Games: These are weekly events that are loosely themed where writers send each other asks about their WIPs! The most common are Storyteller Saturday (about the writing process), Blorbsday (aka Blorbo Thursday about characters), and Worldbuilding Wednesday (about the setting of your story). If you answer these late, nobody really cares, but it's a fun way to receive prompts and learn more about other people's stories.
Ask Games/Memes: These are posts with lists of questions you can reblog from other people, sometimes themed or listed with emojis. It's common courtesy to send an ask from the list to the person you reblog it from, then people can send you questions as well, so you can talk about your stories! You can search for dozens of them
Tag games: There's a ton of different types of tag games, but basically someone @s you with a challenge/question, you reblog with your answer, and then @ a bunch of other people to continue the chain. Some common ones are Heads Up 7s Up (share the last 7 lines of your WIP), Last Line Tag (share the last line you wrote), and Find the Words (ctrl+f the given words in your doc and share the results, then give new words).
Formal events: These are community wide participation challenges organized by certain blogs! @writeblrsummerfest is every July?? August? I think? It's run by @abalonetea a few years strong, and there are daily prompts and ask games! @inklings-challenge is a month-long short story entry for Christian writeblrs. I think there was a valentines event in February. @moon-and-seraph is hosting a pitch week soon! Since these are more organized, it's very easy to find similar blogs and support!
Misc. Notes on using Tumblr
Follow the tags #writeblr and #writeblr community to find other writers, as well as other tags that interest you like #fantasy for example
If you want to bookmark a post to read later, you can like it and/or save it to your drafts
The queue/schedule function is very useful if you want to space out posts or have a backlog to keep your blog running when you get busy. This is good for the community because it gives older posts a chance to be rediscovered! You can change the posting frequency in the settings.
REBLOG YOUR OWN STUFF. People aren't always on at the same times and so it's the best way to account for people with different schedules and timezones. If you're worried about being annoying, you can tag those #self reblog or something similar and other people can filter the tag, but otherwise it's a welcomed and accepted practice.
If your excerpt is pretty long, put it under a cut. On desktop you can do this by selecting the squiggly button on the far right when you make a new paragraph, on mobile type :readmore: then hit enter.
It's polite to add descriptions to images and videos for visually or auditory impaired people. If you don't know how to write descriptions, here's a good resource
In your dashboard settings, it's best to shut off the options "Best Stuff First" and "Based on your Likes". These function as the website algorithm and suppresses the blogs you actually follow, which defeats the purpose of the site, letting the dash be in reverse chronological order. Also turn off Tumblr Live because it's malware as far as anyone's concerned.
Curate your experience, block the trolls, and be nice
Update for March 2024
How to shut off AI Scraping on your blog
Go to settings and find the Visibility tab
Scroll down to the tag that says "Prevent Third-Party Sharing"
Turn that knob over so that Automattic can't steal your work for their language training model databases >_<
The other settings will just hide your blog from search engines so they're useful for hiding from nosy parents or other Tumblr users but if you're trying to build an author platform you can leave them off.

Again, welcome to the community! I hope you have a ton of fun!

📌 Welcome, friends, foes, and passersby, to my personal piece of fandom Hell.
Have you made your daily clicks yet, today?
If you have money to donate, please take a look at these vetted fundraisers.
Check out my latest ask game here!
18+ Blog
No minors. No bigots. No blank blogs/default icons.
No Minors: I’m an adult posting adult content on my adult blog; I will block you on sight.
No Bigots: “Bigots” includes rad fems, exclusionists, and zionists. Trans people need feminism, too, gatekeeping helps no one, and zionism does not equate to Judaism (implying that genocide is a Jewish value is antisemitism).
No Blank Blogs: For context on why I block default icons, see this post.
I intend to use my block button liberally, but I’m hoping the big text will help at least a little bit.
I also edit this post/my blog theme to include a comical amount of 18+ disclaimers whenever I get fed up with the amount of minors trying to follow me. Idk if it works, but it’s cathartic.
Fandom is meant to be fun, so if you’re here to spread hate, don’t. <3 I’ll just block you, and neither of us will gain anything from it.
This Blog Contains:
Adult content
Kink
Problematic media
Fictional depictions of violence and gore
Discussion of potentially triggering content
Please see this post for a list of tags you may want to block.
As a rule of thumb, I tend to tag things #[trigger] cw and use the keep reading feature in extreme cases. Please ask if you need me to tag something.

You can call me Fanby. I’m over 25 years old and use an assortment of pronouns, but mainly they/them, xe/xem, and it/its.

🌸 a token of my appreciation 🌸
Tumblr media
I’ve been through quite the journey in the RP community - all my characters have been through various blogs since 2012, and maintaining the OG four while adding to my roster has been part of that journey.
However, coming back after leaving the RP comm in 2018 was extremely daunting and took a couple tries, but I think this is the one that really stuck. Reflecting back not just on the character progress I’ve had, but the place I’m at now with them and seeing people’s genuine interest in them and their story fills my heart so greatly. I’m forever thankful to all of you to this day, for sticking through the hiatuses and the fluctuation of activity and still wanting to write and interact with not just my OCs (and now Thor!) but with me!
From the bottom of my heart, from all my muses:
Thank you.
I wanna extend a few specific thank yous; please understand I still have an extremely deep appreciation for all of y’all. I just want to show a little love to these peeps.
First of all, to @eternalspawn @visixnaryx Torioioio (YES I’M TAGGING BOTH YOUR BLOGS). You have been there since the beginning, when we first met back in 2012. I’m so grateful to have you still as my friend to this day, and honored to have written with you still and had our characters meet and adore each other. Kairo still loves Adamire to bits and pieces, and really, all my characters love yours by default. Your writing is so fantastic, and always leaves me blown away, and know that no matter who you bring around, I’ll be around to write with them as much as you’d like. I love you very much, friend, you’re a fantastic person, always make me laugh, and you’re such a light! 🌸❤️
@deafarcher Fir, you’re another one of the homies that was around from the olden days! You even kept following me on my personal too 🥹 I’m happy we’ve found each other again and we’re writing - I missed you greatly, friend!
@xinchargeofthetvax you!! YOU! You have been here for this blog through its trials and tribulations, been super understanding and always extending kind words and holding such lovely conversation. I can’t believe it’s been a year already! Time flew!! I love the way you write Mobius so much. Thank you thank you thank you (PS: whenever someone uses the word bud, I think of you! Fondly, of course) ❤️
@ignisregina I know it’s been a bit and I know life has you busy but you have also been one of the sweetest people I’ve met on here. You give Alliecat & me so much love and I was 10000% on board pre-establishing her friendship with Mari. I hope you are doing well, I miss you lots and hope to see you again soon!!
@cxcasiris I will never forget the absolutely sweet ass message you sent me while I was struggling. Beyond that, the friendship you’ve given me thus far and the person you are = I’m stuck on you like glue! You are incredibly creative, friendly and just all around such an awesome person, and whatever journey you want to go on creatively, I’m along for the ride as long as you’ll have me! Thank you for always being so considerate to me and reaching out when you can.
@luposcainus I have to be so honest I was so intimidated to approach you for the longest! I’d seen you around before but I was always nervous (I’m just generally a shy bean sometimes) but I’m glad we’ve started writing together! It’s helped me to see the fear was unfounded. I see the love and care you give to Caspian!! Thank you for always being kind and being as much of a silly bean as I am!
With that being said, if I keep going and thanking everyone this is just gonna be an already BIGGER wall of text than it already is. So my HUGE HUGE HUGE love and appreciation for all these peeps; CHECK THEM OUT. All of these people have been so amazing, and I wish I had the proper words to declare how deep my appreciation goes for all of them! As time goes on, the list gets bigger!

So hey, ive been getting a lot of bots liking my fic i wrote. And im new at this, so what do you do to get rid of them lol. Because I go to their tumblr and theres nothing there...ever. i have four of them liking my fic but they don't like or reblog anything i post. So why bots on my fic???
HI! I'm not sure. Honestly, some profiles lately have seemed a lot like bots to me but I can't always tell. Especially with the blog names. They look like bots but they have blog names that are related to the fandom they're interacting with.
Sometimes it seems like they are users who only make a Tumblr account to read fics. If that's the case, I ignore them for the most part. If they don't follow me then I give them the benefit of the doubt. Plus, ultimately, more notes can increase visibility on a post so that's not bad.
Maybe someone who sees this can help with the answer. Maybe there's something about how we tag/label fics that the bots pick up. I haven't had swarms of them like we did with the p*rn bots back in 2023 or whenever. Those were a lot easier to spot though.
I'm also going to use this as a PSA for anyone who has made an account just for reading: put your age in your bio or something to signify 18+ if that's the content you're interacting with, change your pfp to something other than the default, and maybe add a header image. Those are signals to other blogs that you are a human and not to block you (for being under 18 or possibly a bot).
Sorry I wasn't of more help, but if it's just likes I don't find that all too annoying. And as a percentage I find those likes to be pretty low. If they follow me I try to block them.

                                 RULES   BENEATH   THE   CUT
ONE.    THIS   BLOG   IS   18+   AND   THIS   IS   YOUR   WARNING.   There  will  be  mentions    of   murder,   torture,   abuse  ,  and  other  triggering  topics.  Triggers   are   tagged   as __   //.   I   don't   have   any   specific   triggers,   but   if   you   do,   please   let   me   know.  Lastly,   on   the   topic   of   smut.   It   won't   be   under   readmore   unless   my   partner   does   it   first.   Also   I   won't   hold   off   my   smut   stuff   for   Sunday   and   will   post   stuff   like   that   on   main.   Whenever   I'm   in   the   mood   for   it,   it'll   happen.
TWO.   Honestly,   I'm   all   kinds   of   shipping   trash.   If   there's   a   chance   you   ship,   I   probably   ship   it   too!   I'm   a   fan   of   all   kind   of   ships   as   well.    Romantic,   platonic,   antagonistic,   and   everything   else   in   between.   The   main   thing   of   note   is   Maxine   and   Ben   are   a   couple   in   both   of   their   default,   main   verses,   but   they   really   don't   follow   social   norms   when   it   comes   to   their   relationship.   They're   both   very   open   to   being   in   a   poly   relationship   with   someone,   but   also   being   a   monogamous   relationship   is   okay   with   them   too.   Like   if   Maxine   ends   up   with   someone   who   only   wants   her   and   them   to   be   in   a   relationship,   Ben   will   back   off   and   respect   their   wishes   and   vice   versa.
THREE.    I   am   mutuals   only   and   that's   how   I'll   stick   for   my   own   comfort.   I   follow   whoever   I   want   and   I   wish   for   that   to   be   respected.   Don't   ask   me   why   I   didn't   follow   you   back.   Don't   follow,   unfollow,   follow   again   in   order   for   me   to   follow   you   back.   If   I   didn't   follow   you   back,   that's   that.   Don't   make   me   have   to   block   you,   and   I   hate   having   to   block   people.   Mutuals   are   free   to   send   in   inbox   memes   that   focus   on   interactions   between   muses   and   continue   them   from   that   ask   post!   Non-mutuals   are   free   to   send   in   ooc   questions   and   headcanon   things.   Mutuals   are   also   free   to   ask   for   my   discord   and   talk   to   me   in   the   IMs.   Mutuals   are   also   free   to   reblog   musings   posts   and   graphics   things   I   may   post!
FOUR.    I   make   every   single   graphic   on   this   blog.   The   icon   borders,   the   PSD,   and   everything   else.   Don't   steal   my   stuff,   thanks.  I've   recently   been   experimenting   with   formatting.   I've   been   having   fun   bolding,   italicizing,   underlining,   and   using   colored   font.   I   also   double   space   and   haven't   been   using   small   font.   So   if   none   of   that   sounds   interesting   to   you,   I   would   recommend   not   following.

may i ask how long u've been on tumblr/how you reached 10,000 followers? it seems like quite a feat and i've been trying to post my own stuff (aesthetics, themes, moodboards, etc) for while now almost regularly and i've been stuck at 59, 60, or 61 followers for that entire time. it only ever fluctuates between those three numbers and my most recent followers have been bots. i guess i'm asking if you have any advice? 😅
i’ve been on tumblr for exactly two years, but in october 2022 i accidentally deleted the account and had to start over (kids, the lesson is to never try to delete a sideblog on your phone, do it on the pc, that’s the only place you can do it, because if you try on the phone it’ll delete everything, all of your blogs, including your main) so, it’s taken me 1 and a half years.
well, i have tons of advice about all manner of things, but this specifically, how to get more followers? it’s a little more loosey goosey and based on luck and stuff. but here are a few of the advice i can give:
well, first of all i believe that kindness goes a long way, certainly with getting your followers to stick with you.
ALWAYS check the tags when you post stuff you want people to find, make sure you aren't using any tags that are broken or anything. this is part of the routine i have whenever i post a new fic, always always check that it's showing up in the tags. i'm also always that anon for my moots whenever i notice that their stuff isn't showing up and they either didn't know or needs a bit of help. if you don't know your way around tumblr tags, then this post right here is very very helpful. also just use the proper and appropriate tags, but i'd think that was a given.
you say that you post stuff like moodboards and such? to be honest, i don't know how many of my followers follow me exclusively for that genre of my content, i don't know how many followers are normal when that is your blog's thing.
some people like to spam post a ton of stuff, some people like their dash extremely active, i personally don't. i've unfollowed/just not followed people who i like just fine, but who post an overwhelming amount. i might not be the only one who's like this. i personally have some posts queued, i have a bit of a schedule of regular posts that i trickle out. like stuff that i reblog, there is a pattern to how i do it, just to spread it out and to keep it organised (because everything in my life is meticulously organised). like i always have a comforting little thing to reblog between 5 and 6 in the morning for me, because then it'll be one of the first things people in my timezone sees and one of the last things a nightowl might see.
also try and keep your blog organised, have tags for things so that it's easy for people to filter (and also easy for you to find stuff), have a pinned post that's kind of a gentle welcome/intro/guide to whoever clicks on your blog, that kind of stuff, also just try and make the blog pretty and inviting, not just the default tumblr icon and stuff (those lowkey scare me)
keeping timezones in mind when you post. think about if it's a good time for most people, is it a time of day where one could be looking at their phone, taking a little break.
reblog stuff! interact with people! support others that you like and maybe that someone will support you!
i've never posted stuff "in order to get lots of followers," or anything. i just personally really like my writing, and since i do, then there must be someone else that does as well. turns out i was right.
learn that your blog is like your little house. you make the rules, you decide who gets to stay, you get to do whatever makes you happy and no one can tell you that you are wrong.
at the end of the day, everyone is gonna like something different, you can't please everyone, so just make your blog, your content, exactly how you like it, just be your wonderful weird beautiful self and no one else.
「 come join my 10k celebration 」

Hey everyone, I know anyone following me here will probably just be oomfs from twitter but just in case I ever use this more than once a week I'll have this fun post here. If you're someone who doesn't know me, hey! I like video games a good amount and like to talk about them. My favorite genre is jRPGs but you wouldn't really know that considering...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah, turns out there's quite a few MegaMan games aren't there? I can't fully say what flipped the switch inside me but I plan to have all of them finished by the end of the year. Anyways! What do I plan to use this blog for? Well, your guess is as good as mine in the long run. I've tried to make these a couple times in the past but never really got it down and just stuck to my silly short posts. But outside of talking to friends I kinda hate using Twitter due to a lot of reasons. It really do be like that.
Realistically I'm not gonna do fuck all unique here, I'll just make whatever I feel like. There will be a lot of reblags and very little original content because I lack any form of creativity. But whenever I do post here it'll probably just be formless rambling on whatever my brain is fixated on at the moment which yes, does mean there will be a lot of MegaMan posting, but it could also be whatever Gundam I decide to start watching, or something completely out of left field. Anyways, this is a really long post to just say I'm trans and have some undiagnosed mental illnesses. Let's just have some fun while we're here okay :).
I promise maybe someday I'll do anything instead of having the fuckass ugly default blog. I'm lazy

Blog Information for Mobile Users
This pinned post is specially made for mobile users, so they have access to important blog information. I’ll update this post whenever it’s needed.
--
Blog status: 11/09/2024 blog is under construction! All of my Naruto Muses will be written here. The transition will take some time while I’m adding all of the Muses and their pages slowly but surely. The blog itself will be updated too in appearance, and I’ll try to simplify the rule page section.
Muses I currently write (WIP)!!
--
Other blogs: @kazenofuji, @gunsnboots, @medicusviridis, and @ceruleanbender
Rules:
1. VERY IMPORTANT: As a result of having dyslexia, impaired vision, and eye illnesses, I ask my roleplay partners to be considerate of this. Ideally, using a capital letter at the start of each new sentence in our interaction would be great. I don’t care for the size of the text, the icon size, or anything else. If aesthetics are important to you, I fully understand and will try to work with them.
2. This is a multiple Muse blog featuring mostly original characters (OCs) and a few Canon Muses. All the Muses are from the Naruto franchise!
3. This blog is original character, multiple Muse, and crossover friendly. I do ask for an about page with minimum effort regarding original characters. While I’m multi-Muse friendly (I’m one myself after all), I want to add; I’ll follow a multi-blog only for certain Muses. This may change depending on the Muses offered over time.
4. God modding, etc., isn’t something I particularly enjoy, and I ask not to do so. If you’re unsure about anything, please don’t be afraid to private message me. I might as well add: I’m far from perfect, and if I ever do something that is a no-no for you in writing, please private message me!
5. I’m of age, and content that isn’t safe for work will be written here and tagged accordingly. This goes from gore to sexual intent and anything in between. I’ll not write with minors and ask them not to interact with me.
6. About shipping and more, I’m open to romantic shipping, but chemistry is required between our Muses. As I’m a multi-ship blog, each romantic ship has its own universe by default. Outside of romantic ships, I love to develop all sorts of ships with my Muses!
I’m not comfortable writing about sex itself, and if anything happens, I’ll ask for it to fade to black. As I’m not interacting with minors, it should be self-explanatory that NSFW will only be written with adults.
7. Seeing as English isn’t my native language, I can’t guarantee that mistakes won’t happen, and I ask that you not be an icky person about it.
8. To keep this role-play blog enjoyable for myself and others, anonymous hate, etc., will be ignored. You’re more than welcome to give me constructive criticism, but please, no destructive criticism.
Having been a victim of callout culture myself while wrongly accused back in 2015, I’ll not participate in any of this! That being said, I’m perfectly capable of deciding whether a callout is warranted or not. I apologise for the strict tone here, but I’ve seen and experienced firsthand how a callout can ruin someone, especially when they’re wrongly accused.
9. I’ve got a phobia, it's molluscophobia (fear of snails and slugs).
While Katsuyu is a slug and the summoning of Tsunade and Sakura, I ask that you not describe it in full detail when it’s summoned.
10. I don’t tolerate out-of-character hate against LGBT+ or any other hate regarding race, religion, or the like. I say OOC because, in writing, it can happen. For a quick example, my Hyuuga OC held a grudge against Kumogakure for a long time due to the Hyuuga Affair.
11. Mun isn't Muse! Each of my Muses is unique, with their own personality and personal opinions. Please don't confuse my in-character writing with my out-of-character writing. Again, Mun isn't Muse!
12. I don’t send out passwords, as I always read my role-play partner’s rule page.
Miscellaneous:
My time zone is CET (Central European Time)
My tracking tag is Kyuusou
Out of character will usually be tagged as OOC
--
Hello! The puppeteer is here; I’m Myttie!
I’m a ciswoman and use she / her pronouns.
Because of my mental health, my activity isn’t consistent; I'm a sporadic role-player with a tendency toward low activity. Don't be afraid to hit me up through IM or Askbox. I like to chit-chat and get to know my RP partner better. I'm a friendly and ditsy person who likes to role-play and have fun!
That's all. Thank you for reading!

hiiii new followers from twitter! ik twitter is a disaster rn, im glad y'all are moving platforms to keep urself going. tumblr is very different and it takes time getting used to!
just a couple facts you should know for tumblr:
customize ur blog! dont leave it as the default colors, pictures, and writing. me and other ppl will think ur a bot and block you
use tags on ur posts! theres a special tag section whenever you create a new post, add the tags for whatever you like there so you can reach out to a larger audience and gain traction! u can also just use them to ramble ur thoughts on or organize ur posts (as do i)
make sure ur tags are relevant to you/the post. you dont want to flood tags or sections on tumblr with irrelevant art, writing, or posts.
please reblog posts/art! there is no algorithm for tumblr, we all rely on reblogs to have our stuff be seen. likes will not get us anywhere like twitter could
customize ur settings, make sure ur privacy is protected and u have things hidden u want no one else to see! you can leave submissions, dms, and asks on if u want ppl to participate with your blog
be careful of bots! they're rampant here, dont click on any links you dont know or trust. bots can appear in your dms, ask box, and comments of your post. delete and block em
be careful if u post mature content, tumblr will flag it immediately
also be careful of discourse on this website too, it can be buried and you have no idea what u might be getting into if u follow someone. watch out for terfs, proshippers, bigots, etc. dont give them attention, save yourself the energy!
hide/filter posts you dont want to see! in settings, you can hide tags in the filtering section so you dont have to see anything that could be discourse, triggering, or mature!
dont interact with ads or possible corporate accounts! we all hate them, dont like, reblog, or follow their content.
curate ur online experience! follow tags you want to see more of! dont be afraid to block people you dont want to see! dont engage in content that is harmful to you or that you just dont like! if ur on ur home feed and see a post be suggested to you that you don't want, go to the 3 dots on the post and click 'not interested'. remember, you have power over your experience online
have fun! im open to answer any questions y'all have.

Why I don't tag dive on Tumblr anymore
This is something I haven't really talked about, but a while ago, someone liked some version of this post:
Tumblr media
And it made me remember that I have unfortunately completely given up on going through the Quodo tag on Tumblr in order to find all the awesome posts that were made before I joined the fandom in ~2020ish. Not because I lost interest in that project but because Tumblr basically made it physically impossible for me to do...
Also for reasons peculiar to my own completionist psychology, I have ALSO basically given up on going through recent posts in the Quodo tag too (meaning all the posts that have been posted in that tag since my last reblogging spree, whenever that was).
Let me explain the reason for both of these things.
So the good news is that Tumblr does allow you to chronologically browse tags. This is not the default setting, unfortunately -- the default setting is "Popular" (which as far as I can tell seems to be some kind of weighted average of recency and number of notes, but IDK, it is a mystery), because Tumblr is an enemy of reason and all that is good in the world. But it IS possible! However, the bad news: for reasons I don't really understand, Tumblr will not paginate the chronological tag search.
If you take a look at a chronological tag search (e.g.: https://www.tumblr.com/tagged/quodo?sort=recent) and try hitting next a few times, you'll notice something: the URL doesn't change. It remains static even though the contents of the page change. What seems to be happening here is that, when you hit the "Next" button, Tumblr is (I'm guessing) using JavaScript in order to load a new set of posts and is changing the contents of the page on the fly. Therefore, what posts are currently showing are entirely dependent on how many times you've hit the "Next" button on your current browsing session.
You'll notice that this is NOT the way that dashboards or browsing through people's blogs works. For example, if you hit next a few times on your dashboard (I hope you have turned off infinite scroll!), you'll get URLs like these:
https://www.tumblr.com/?max_post_id=714110213039489024 (this for me shows posts from people I'm following that were posted recently, April 9, 2023)
https://www.tumblr.com/?max_post_id=71411021303948902 (deleted a digit; this now shows posts from Feb 2020)
Note that if you copy and paste these into your browser a day or two (or a week) later, you should see the exact same set of posts that you see now, as long as you have not followed/unfollowed anyone since you last loaded the page.
Or on blogs that have custom layouts turned on, you can easily jump back to older posts by doing things like this:
https://chacusha.tumblr.com/page/2 (this shows the 11th-20th most recent posts on my blog)
https://chacusha.tumblr.com/page/40 (this shows much older posts on my blog)
Here, the content of these particular pages WILL change as I post more posts to my blog, but there is at least some way to rapidly jump past many pages I know I've already seen. (There are also more powerful and quick ways of finding old posts using a user's archive e.g. https://chacusha.tumblr.com/archive)
As far as I can tell, nothing like this functionality exists for tag searches. Which is incredibly frustrating for trying to find older posts!! Given that I was at around 2018 or 2019 in my last tag search, the number of times I would need to manually hit the "Next" button just to find my previous place in the Quodo tag is ridiculous. And the more time that passes, the harder it gets!
Oh yeah, and to make this worse, anytime you reload the page (you restart your browser, you restart your computer, or you accidentally close the tab and recover it), your progress is reset! That's right: you have to click "Next" that many times again to find your old place in the tag again!
Let's make it even worse: Because of that way of loading and replacing content on a single page rather than just requesting a fresh new page from the server, you end up in a situation where your Tumblr tab is now using an insane amount of memory the more times you've hit the "Next" button. And unfortunately, one weird property of my laptop (my main computer) is that, if it is not connected to a power supply, it will sometimes do a random emergency shut down if it's running a program that is consuming too much memory and CPU. Which Firefox is now doing, thanks to that Tumblr tab!
So basically, after trying many, many times to find the furthest place I reached in the Quodo tag only for my computer to shut down, or for Firefox to start getting too sluggish for me to use anymore (thanks to Tumblr 😊), I just gave up: it is literally impossible for me to reach things posted in the Quodo tag prior to ~2019. Which sucks because I really would like to see things like people's older Quodo art (it's easier for me to find old Quodo fic as long as it has been posted to AO3 because... AO3 is actually designed to work as a functional archive and it sets up its search/browse functions in light of this fact...).
So that is the reason behind the first thing I mentioned -- it is physically impossible for me to reach older Quodo posts now. In some sense, I guess the fact that Tumblr naturally hides older posts from view is nice from a privacy point of view. But from the point of view of a content creator, I find this lack of functionality disturbing. I don't post things like art or fic or meta on Tumblr just for it to only be viewable within one or maybe two years from my posting it. My intent when posting it is for it to be accessible to people years later if they're interested. But Tumblr doesn't let me do this, unless people find my blog and use my blog's archive features to find the content they want (and I better HOPE I've tagged consistently and correctly, which it is hard to do 100% of the time). I really don't like this model of social media posts as ephemeral.
So what about the second point? Knowing that there is no way for me to go back months or years in the Quodo tag without manually clicking dozens of times through posts I've already seen and slowing my computer to a crawl and possibly triggering an unexpected restart has kind of made this activity unpleasant and demoralizing for me. Also, because of my long Tumblr hiatuses, I did and still do frequently fall significantly behind in the Quodo tag. And because I'm a completionist (yes, I am the kind of person who will browse through my dashboard until I hit the last post I saw the last time I logged into Tumblr), the idea of checking out the Quodo tag periodically but in a way I know is very spotty and incomplete kind of annoys me. Deciding not to use the Quodo tag at all and instead relying on other Quodo blogs I watch to reblog stuff from the tag and then reblogging THEM also doesn't work for me because, again, the fact that posts are chronologically out of order and now I've seen and reblogged SOME of the Quodo tag but not other posts is just confusing and one extra thing to keep track of. My brain does not like that at all.
So basically, that's my sob story about how I gave up on the project of deep diving into the Quodo tag and why I've largely given up on reblogging Quodo posts from the tag at all. Now that I've written this post up, I realize I am being a bit too neurotic and perfectionistic about this and maybe I should go back to casually reblogging posts whenever I decide to peruse the tag and just accept that there are great posts that exist out there but now are completely "unrecoverable" for me.
The summary is: Tumblr is great for a random stream of content detached from time, but is terrible for archiving content in a systematic, comprehensive sort of way. My brain and my blog is much more that of an archivist than a streamer, so this really doesn't work for me. This is one of the many reasons contributing to my frequent Tumblr hiatuses, which I haven't really talked about before.

I’ve gotten quite a few fic comments in the past two days, and I had the thought, I am so lucky. And that’s true. I am, in a lot of ways, including in fandom friendships. I have a lot of good friends in fandom, and I know that’s not something that can be earned or that should be taken for granted.
But it’s not all luck. I also have some skills around developing fandom friendships, and since we’re largely a bunch of neurodivergent folks over here in fandom, I thought it might be worth spelling some things out in case other people are wondering how to make more fandom friends, since direct instructions can be helpful.
Right off the bat, obviously, don’t be an asshole. Tell people nice things about their fics, and don’t tell them mean things about their fics (or mean things in general). If you eventually get to the point where someone has asked you to be their beta, you can give constructive criticism at that point, though it’s still important to be kind. It goes against fandom norms to give criticism, even criticism meant constructively, outside of beta relationships. If you didn’t know that before, well, now you do.
But beyond not being an asshole, here’s what I typically do: I comment a lot on other people’s fic. I probably comment on over 75% of the fics I read. Commenting is my default reader state, and I only don’t comment if I truly can’t think of anything nice to say (either because I didn’t like the fic or because I’m having trouble phrasing the thing I liked in a way that sounds good). Whenever possible, I quote-comment, meaning I use the lines I liked from the fic in the comment and basically live-react at the writer through my reading process. I try to comment on every chapter of multi-chapter fics I read.
After I’ve commented on multiple of someone’s fics, if I’m really enjoying myself, I might try to find the writer on Tumblr. I don’t mean trying to stalk them and find a non-fandom blog, obviously; I just mean looking up their AO3 username on Tumblr and seeing if they pop up. If they do, I might DM them and say how much I’ve been enjoying their fics, or how much I appreciate their characterization of a certain character, or make a fandom-related reference.
From there, sometimes people respond. Sometimes they don’t. Sometimes we don’t seem to have much to talk about. But sometimes we hit it off. If it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, I don’t push it, but if the other person also seems to be having a good time and is responding enthusiastically and/or initiating some of the time, I keep talking to them.
Note: I am less likely to try to talk to people who are clearly Big Name Fans, whatever that means in a certain fandom. I don’t show up and immediately try to catch the attention of people who surely have tons of people vying for their attention. And people who get less engagement are more likely to really appreciate having one new really enthusiastic supporter, anyway.
There comes a point in some online friendships where it’s okay to ask to exchange numbers/talk on the phone/Skype/etc. That point comes at different times in different friendships, and it may never come at all in plenty of them, and that’s all right. It’s nice to offer your information rather than asking for someone else’s (a tip I picked up in autism support groups), and you should definitely make sure the other person feels like they can say no, they’d rather not give you their number, or whatever.
It’s important to know going into this that sometimes fandom admiration isn’t mutual. Some people whose work you enjoy may not enjoy your work, and you need to be okay with that. Some people also won’t want to be your friend, and you need to be okay with that, too. This isn’t a manual on how to make everyone like you. But I do think that this way of interacting in fandom has helped me make a higher-than-average number of fandom friends.
This is not to say you have to follow all this advice or that there is One Right Way to engage in fandom. You’re not obligated to comment on anything or DM anyone, and I can’t guarantee any results even if you do. But if you’re wondering how to make more friends in fandom, being enthusiastic and complimentary (when you can do so genuinely) is a decent thing to try.

Pined post, this will be updated whenever necessary.
Last update: January 25th 2023.
This blog is run by @rjalker My pronouns are it/its.
Rules and other info are below the cut! Read this post before submitting a prompt :)
= = = =
Along with submitting prompts, if you tag me in art, as long as it doesn't violate the rules, I'll reblog it here! Art of Murderbot will be tagged "Murderbotart"
Submission rules, in no real order
0)) if you think shipping incest or pedophilia is okay, leave, now. Your actions are disgusting and you are not welcome here. This includes between adopted family members.
1)) I highly recommend you type out your prompts in an LibreOffice document or similar word program before submitting it, in case tumblr crashes while you're on the submission page, or if I delete it by accident while trying to post it.
2)) If you submit a prompt here, you can of course also post it to your own blog. You can also post it to your blog, and then @ me to reblog it here.
3)) If you want to submit a prompt anonymously, you can submit it like normal, and note at the top that you want it to be anonymous. I'll copy and paste it into a new post. (You used to be able to open tumblr in a private browser and submit anonymously that way, but I think they've made it so you have to be logged in now in 2024...who knows when that'll change again though.)
4)) Include a name for your prompt when you submit it! This will make it easier to find them later. It can be a simple descriptive name like "Murderbot gets lost in the mall" or something.
5))Please include proper paragraph breaks. I have to be able to read your prompt before it can b published. Not including paragraph breaks will make this take three times as long.
6)) I will be editing prompts submitted, usually to help clarify confusing language or to add paragraph breaks if the submitter doesn't add them in themselves.
7)) If you aren't okay with your prompt being edited before it gets posted, post it to your own blog instead, and then @ me to reblog it.
If a prompt violates the rules in an easily fixable way, I'll edit the prompt to follow the rules.
If a prompt violates the rules in a way that can't be fixed, it'll just be scrapped, and I'll post an explanation of what it did wrong and how to fix it in the future, without naming names.
Unless you're purposefully being malicious, in which case you'll just get blocked and I will warn other people to block you for their own safety.
8)) No shipping Murderbot with anyone, in any way, unless it canonically starts a relationship with someone in the books. It's not anymore okay to erase canon Queer representation when it's representing nonpartnering, everything-repulsed aroace people than if it were representing anyone else.
If Murderbot were canonically an allo lesbian, and you wouldn't want people to erase that, then don't erase that it's aroace and doesn't want any kind of relationship.
9)) No erasing Murderbot's solitaremity, which is a form of touch aversion where not only do you not enjoy touch, you also do not crave it or get "touch starved". Unless Murderbot in the books canonically starts explicitly seeking out and enjoying touch for the pure joy of it, then you need to respect that it is solitaremit. Real solitaremit people exist, and we deserve to see ourselves represented in fiction too.
Touch aversion is a disability, and it's no more okay to magically cure it or sweep it under the rug than it would be to cure Murderbot's very clear autism.
10)) No whitewashing characters OR assuming white people are the default. Just because someone's skin tone isn't described doesn't mean they're white. If you think it does, you're just racist. The only characters you can depict as white on this blog are those who are clearly described as white, like the GrayCris Agent from book 4.
He is in fact literally the only example of a clearly white character in this series so far.
I know, because I was keeping track the first, second, third, and fourth time I've read this series. This, like many things, is an established pattern in Martha Wells' writing.
It is extremely intentional that the only blatantly white character in this series so far is the capitalist pig who is holding a Black woman hostage.
I promise you it won't kill you to draw or describe people of color. You will not be harmed by fighting against the "white people are the default" that is in your head.
11)) No NSFW even if it doesn't involve Murderbot. There are kids in this fandom, I want them to feel welcome here, and I don't wan to see it either. Post it to your own blog and tag it appropriately.
12)) No super graphic or gratuitous violence. It's okay to go beyond what's described in the books (or, I should say, not described at all), but don't be excessive about it.
13)) Original characters are more than welcome!
14)) All human AUs will not be allowed. Murderbot does not want to be human. Turning it into a human anyways is just insulting.
15)) Other AUs that likewise remove Murderbot's constructed status to make it wholly organic will also be dismissed. That's just lazy and uncreative.
16)) No prompts revolving around Christian holidays. I'm tired of it, and you can't convince me any of the main characters are Christian. You just can't. Post it to your own blog.
17)) No misgendering Murderbot unless it's to show that the character / entity misgendering it is a bad person.
Example: A random jackass misgendering Murderbot is fine, as long as it's properly portrayed as that person being a jackass. (Yes, even if it's written from the jackass's POV and they think they're a good person. It's very easy to show that the narrator is not correct even when they think they are).
You writing a whole prompt and referring to Murderbot with they/them, he/him, or she/her pronouns is misgendering and not allowed. If you do this, it will be corrected the first time. If you do it multiple times, you will just be blocked. You get once chance, and that's it.
18)) No headcannoning Murderbot as being binary trans. Why do I even have to say this. Go somewhere else if you hate nonbinary people that much.
= = = = =
Prompts can be as long as you want, but should be at least a good sized paragraph at minimum, not just a single sentence or two.
= = = = =
You can submit art as a prompt or for a prompt, as long as it follows the rules above and:
A)) Murderbot's face must not be shown (it puts in a lot of effort to hide its face as often as possible, we should respect that!). Get creative with it. There are a lot of fun ways to accomplish this.
B)) Murderbot must not be whitewashed or light-washed.
Its skin color in the official art is very dark brown, with black hair.
The image below shows the shade of its skin tone taken from official art. The background color, and the box in the middle, are the main shade, and then it is shown being affected by light and shadow.
Lighting can be more dramatic or stylized with different colors, but the brightest lighting in the world isn't going to turn a black or brown person white or pink. Do not desaturate its skin either to make it grey.
Look up tutorials on how to properly draw dark skin if you need to, there are many that people kindly make for free here on tumblr.
Tumblr media
[ID: A simple digital drawing of a hand, with a small pale orange sun next to it as a source of light. The art has a border of light orange in the same shade as the little sun, with black outlines, and the background is dark brown.
Five rectangular boxes are at the top of the screen, showing a simple gradient from warm brown to darker brown, with the the middle box the baseline, which is also the background color. The furthest left box is the lightest, the furthest right is the darkest.
The shades are placed on the simple drawing of the hand, with the brightest color used to highlight the part closest to the little sun, with the second brightest forming a larger part of the lighting, then the baseline, with the darkest color on the opposite side of the arm and fingers that are in shade, with the softer shading taking up most of the shadowed parts.
End ID.]
C)) Murderbot cannot be drawn stick thin and skinny. It's literally designed to be physically powerful and kill people and things. It is not skinny.
D)) Try to include an image description for your art whenever possible. If you do not include one, I will have to create one before it is published, so it will take longer to publish, depending on how complicated the image is.
Memes will be allowed, as long as they don't violate any of the other rules.
As long as your fics follow all the rules, you can also submit full fics here for people to read, as long as each chapter individually isn't too long to fit in a single post. Say whether or not it's okay for people to use your fics as writing prompts.
= = = = =
All prompts will be tagged:
Murderbotwritingprompts
Murderbot writing prompts
TMBD writing prompts
The Murderbot Diaries
if you want to filter them.
"blogrunner prompt" will indicate prompts created by me
"submitted prompt" will indicate prompts submitted by others
You may request specific tags to be added to your own prompts, like if you're going to be submitting a series of prompts set in the same "universe".
To maybe help keep things ordered, Each prompt will also be given a number in the order it was submitted, no matter who created it, and tagged with that number as "prompt1" "prompt2" ect.
Will this actually help anyone find prompts later? I don't know, I guess we'll see...
= = = =
Some common terms and their definitions:
Transmisia
Transmisia is indeed ""transphobia" but minus the "-phobia" suffix, because hating trans people isn't an anxiety disorder like phobias are, and people who do have phobias get treated horribly because people think it means they're bigots when they're not.
The -misia suffix comes from the word "misos" for "hatred", which is also where the word misogyny comes from! Miso-hatred, gyn-women. Misogyny = hatred of women.
_____
Athiktomisia (link to coining post)
Athiktomisia is bigotry towards people who are touch averse, with athikto translating to, roughly, untouchable or thereabouts, and the -misia suffix like above indicating hatred. Athikto+misia = hatred of those who are untouchable.
_____
Solitaremit, soliteremity, etcetera (link to coining post)
Solitaremit is a specific form of touch aversion where the person is touch averse, and also does not get ""touch starved"" or have any desire for touch at all, specifically created because many touch averse people who do not get touch starved were being alienated even in touch averse spaces, because desiring touch and being touch starved was still behind held up as normal and universal.
Solitaremity is...uh, the state of being solitaremit. Example sentence: Most people, even those who are otherwise touch averse, don't even know that solitaremity exists.
Solitaremity was created specifically to be a unique word that is brand new, and thus (meant to be) easy to search for and find, combining the words "solitary" and "hermit" for maximum emphasis.
_____
Solitaremisia
Solitaremisia is, again, the -misia suffix, combined with solitaremit to specify hatred against people who are touch averse who specifically do not desire touch in any way, even with touch starvation. Which is unfortunately a common attitude even in other touch averse people :|
_____
Gregariable
Gregariable will probably be used at some point, it was created as the counterpart to solitaremit, it means someone who desires touch and gets touch starved, whether or not they're also touch-averse. Aka, 99.99% of people are gregariable. It combines the words "gregarious" and "sociable" to create a unique word so that it would be easy to search for.
_____
Aroacemisia
Aroacemisia is bigotry against aroace people in particular, again with the -misia suffix to indicate hatred.
Amisia, acemisia, and aromisia are hatred towards aspec people in general, hatred towards asexual people, and hatred towards aro people.
_____
Exorsexism
Exorsexism is the specific hatred of nonbinary and genderqueer people, which is separate from, but sometimes a part of, transmisia.
Murderbot is nonbinary, so any transmisia it faces is inherently exorsexist.
_____
It its antagonism
it its antagonism refers to hatred targeted specifically at people who use it/its pronouns, usually always combined with exorsexism. It its antagonism is a form of neopronomisia.
_____
Neopronomisia
Neopronomisia is hatred of pronouns other than she/her or he/him. This includes but is not limited to pronouns like it/its, te/ter, and they/them.

Blog Information for Mobile Users
This pinned post is specially made for mobile users, so they have access to important blog information. I’ll update this post whenever it’s needed.
Blog status: Slow with everything.
Other blogs: Other blogs: @kyuusou , @kazenofuji, @tennome, @hakkouname, @gunsnboots, and @awai-no-yuurei.
Rules:
2. This is an original character blog for Bijin Yuuhi; I'll write and RP about some other Muses too who are important to Bijin's story. They're all OCs!
Please read Bijin's biography before interacting!
3. This blog is original character, multiple Muse, and crossover friendly. I do ask for an about page with minimum effort regarding original characters. While I’m multi-Muse friendly, I want to add; I’ll follow a multi-blog only for certain Muses.
Outside of romantic ships, I love to develop all sorts of ships with Bijin!
I’m not comfortable writing about sex itself, and if anything happens, I’ll ask for it to fade to black. As I’m not interacting with minors, it should be self-explanatory that NSFW will only be written with adults.
I’m well aware minors engage in sex and whatnot, but I’ll still not write about sexually hinted topics with underage Muses! I don’t mind writing about a romance between two teenagers who are 16 or older, but I won't go into detail if they’re kissing (it makes me highly uncomfortable). A peck on the mouth, a kiss on the cheek, hand holding, cuddling, and just being cute together are things I don’t mind.
If it’s plot or background-related, mentioning darker topics regarding sexual content is alright with me, but please don’t drop this on me without warning me first. For example, the mention of rape without warning will startle me. It’s a trigger.
9. I’ve got a phobia and several triggers. My phobia is molluscophobia (fear of snails and slugs), and my triggers are rape, strangling, drowning, and my Muse being pinned down. All of these things make me highly uncomfortable.
Bijin is unique, with her own personality and personal opinions. Please don't confuse my in-character writing with my out-of-character writing. Again, Mun isn't Muse!
12. I don’t send out passwords, as I always read my role-play partner’s rule page.
Miscellaneous:
My time zone is CET (Central European Time)
My tracking tag is Bibibooks
Out of character will usually be tagged as OOC
