Maybe it's me but I think what I like most about Damian is how much I don't like him. You can tell DC Comics is going for a redemption arc for him and we're really beginning to see him grow into a good person and fine young man. And they're doing it right. They're showing his growth rather than telling us. Damian is still making mistakes and still is rather standoffish, but he's getting there.

He's the one you want to root for and he's hard to love but I'm so excited to see where they take him. So glad your blog is heavily dedicated to him. (And thanks for the follow too!)

Damian is my favourite Batkid and my favourite Robin. I like all of the Batkids fairly equally, but Damian is my #1 because his story and character is so appealing to me! (I also acknowledge DC's problematic treatment of him and the Al Ghul family at the same time of course)

I read Damian's comics when I was around 13 years old and I thought he was the coolest bitch. I loved that iconic introduction of him saying "Father, I imagined you taller." He's wished to meet his father his whole life and that's the first thing he says to him? Amazing.

While I understand that you like Damian and I agree with your statement, what a lot of people don’t know is that Damian’s current redemption arc in Robin (2021) already happened in Robin: Son of Batman (2016).

In Robin: Son of Batman (2016), He leaves Gotham for a year to travel, and calls it his “Year of Atonement” (to atone for the crimes he’s committed), it's about Damian not wanting to kill people anymore and become a hero like his father is. (And I recommend you reading it honestly, it has such a strong hold to my heart!)

There are a few comics that include Damian’s redemption arc like Batman and Robin (2011) I think, and more that I'm probably forgetting. (I need to re-read Damian’s comics again honestly, because my memory is a little poor because of how long ago I read them lol!)

From what I remember in the New 52 continuity (It was the current canon at the time I read it, so, yeah I’ve been a Batfam fan for a LONG time lol), Damian was a solid member of the batfamily, and was a good hero/sidekick. At some point he stopped being an assassin and became a new addition to the family.

Now you ask: “So Damian already had a redemption arc, and they’re doing it again?”

And my answer is: “YES! That’s weird isn’t it? Congratulations! You accidentally discovered a problem I have with DC too!”

Please bear with me, I’m going to give context as to why Damian is going through another redemption arc, and share my thoughts on Robin (2021) under the cut lol:

The problem with Robin (2021) imo, is that Damian already went through a redemption arc. The reason why DC is doing it twice, is because DC’s ex-ceo Dan Didio (Whom I greatly detest, caused many problems with multiple DC characters), planned to turn Damian into DC’s newest and biggest villain for their canceled continuity that was planned after Rebirth, and to take place after the Dark Knights Metal event. The new failed continuity was going to be called 5G (Stands for Generation 5). It got cancelled because the executive team had disagreements with directions that multiple characters had, as well as hating the idea of a time jump that would be a part of it (Damian was apparently going to be 18!). You can read more about it here in Article 1 and Article 2. (There are multiple posts that could explain 5G better here on Tumblr but I hope I tried lol)

Didio is also to blame for DC having multiple continuities like New 52, Rebirth, etc. So if you're mad about DC being confusing and having their timelines restart frequently, blame it on this guy lol (Thank god he doesn’t work there anymore). Currently, we’re in the Infinite Frontier continuity, but it’s not actually a reboot like the past two so I let it slide ig, because Infinite Frontier is technically a continuation of Rebirth. (If I'm wrong about Infinite Frontier lmk, but my point still stands because I hate Didio for creating New 52 and Rebirth lol)

While 5G was in the works before it got cancelled and Didio got replaced by Jim Lee, Damian was in multiple comics that was going to explain his new path to villainy for 5G. His fallout with the Teen Titans he led in Teen Titans (2016) because he didn’t have faith in the justice system anymore, dealing with the trauma of Alfred’s death, attempting to kill KGBeast because of the attempted murder of Dick, Dick not remembering Damian and turning into Ric, were some of the reasons for his new path. (Source here and here)(I apologize if some details are wrong)

Because 5G was planning on making Damian a supervillain, DC wanted to give the Robin mantle back to Tim. (Despite Damian being Robin for about 15 years, which means Tim hasn’t been Robin for about the same length)

When 5G was cancelled, Williamson was then given Robin (2021) and he had to write Damian’s redemption arc, which is where we are now. If it weren’t for DC trying to change Damian’s story and ruin his character. *cough* *cough* racism.

And the ideas they had for 5G that they didn’t want to throw away, gave us 5G’s leftovers known as Future State (2021), Death of the Justice League (2022),��and the Batman comic with Tim as his Robin that recently got announced (writer Chip Zdarsky). Even though Bruce is supposed to “die” in Death of the justice League? ... 😐

*Apparently, James Tynion IV didn’t like 5G either, so he decided to write DC vs Vampires (2021) instead. Lol the more you know! ✨ (Source here)

To summarize: Tim was going to be be the new Robin for 5G, 5G gets cancelled, now we have both Tim and Damian run around as Robin in Infinite Frontier because of their failed attempts of changing Damian to a supervillain, and have Tim replace him. Now Damian is going through the same arc he already went through because of their idiotic decision. (Side note: If you were wondering why they’re both Robin currently, that's why!) 🙃

*This is not a hate post for Tim. I don't hate Tim, I actually like him! I’m pointing out the fact that DC is racist, and that they’ve been pushing Tim to be Robin recently, because he's white and he hasn’t been Robin for 15-ish years. Don’t misread this post please.

So... After all of that context (which was very much needed), I’m going to finally talk about Damian in Robin (2021) lol.

First of all, I don't have a problem with Robin (2021), I don't fully hate it! There are a few parts that I like, the Lazarus Tournament was a pretty cool idea tbh and the writing is decent. But I don't think I can ever love it, because this comic is a reminder that it wouldn't exist if DC weren’t racist, and that Damian would be on the same path he was on before all of this bs. This comic has elements from Damian’s past comics that, imo, has been handled better.

I’m sorry if you like this comic and that I probably ruined it for you, but it’s completely fine to like this comic and still be aware of the sabotage he went through! If DC sees that Robin (2021) is successful, then they will surely regret their past actions and never attempt to give his villain arc a second try in the future (If DC tries again I will fight them)! I understand why someone would like Robin (2021) because non-Damian readers aren’t aware that he’s no longer that snotty brat that fanon thinks he is. Yea, Damian can be arrogant and childish, those are his flaws after all (and he’s still a child btw, and flaws are very much needed in a character. And I don't like flaw-less characters because they bore me lol), but he's WAY more toned down after Robin: Son of Batman (2016) and Batman and Robin (2011). Damian was already a developed good person before Robin (2021).

This is how Damian meets Goliath ♥️. This scene represents how Damian saw himself in the demon bat, because he also had no desire to kill when he was young, but was forced to his entire life. there’s a few things i kept seeing confusion about, so i’ll try to clear it up the best i can with my amateur enthusiast knowledge.

disclaimer: all of this could be completely wrong. this is just what i’ve learned from working as a bookseller in the past and taking a few classes on publishing and just generally doing a lot of personal research into it both as a reader and with interest in joining the industry. i do not know dan’s individual situation, nor am an expert by any means. i am also coming at this as a canadian, so the innerworkings of uk/us publishing are just from what ive learned here.

1) the uk vs us edition

the uk cover is the one without dan’s face on it. the us cover is the one with dan’s face on it. its not uncommon to have multiple covers and putting someones face on the cover is a very american publisher thing to do, personally i really like both. the cover you get is dependent on where you/your country order the book from.

if you ordered from danandphilshop or shop.danielhowell, you will be getting the uk cover, as it is a uk business. if you ordered from the us store right when the book was announced and before the signed copies sold out, it will probably be the uk cover (more on that in the bit about signed books). after that, i’m not sure because i do not know how irlmerch’s distribution works.

one thing to note is all books have an ISBN number which is like a universal barcode for the book at all stores and it comes from the publisher. the beginning of the isbn dictates the publisher/language/product type/etc and the end identifies the particular book. the uk edition and the us edition have different isbn numbers, as will the ebook, audiobook, etc. this is a good way to figure out which edition you are buying from your local bookstore, and you can cross reference with the isbn in uk or us stores. its usually listed at the bottom of the product page online.

if you live in a country besides the us or the uk, it depends whether the book is being distributed or published in your country. distribution is often more cost effective, and is usually the way it works. as far as i know, dan’s book is being distributed (not published) to the countries on this list with the exception of the us where it is being published (not distributed). if a book is being published in a country, it will have a different isbn and sometimes a different cover. if a book is being distributed it will have the same isbn and cover as the country it is distributed from (usually the closest publishing hub, so london or new york in this case).

to know what edition is in your country, you can compare the isbn numbers and/or the covers. you can also take a look at your other books to see whats normal in your country to get sort of an idea. im assuming europe will get the uk edition but im not sure about other countries.

here in canada for example, our books are usually distributed from the US meaning you will be getting the us cover if you order the book from a canadian store. i ordered from irlmerch when dan’s book was announced though, so i think im getting the uk edition.

1.5) covers and book design

most of the time, especially with new authors, the author has very little say in the final decisions re: book cover and book design. they usually get input, and the publisher gets final say. book design is also a very different thing then general graphic design and professionals genuinely go to school for this. thats not to say there arent bad book designs or that regular people can’t do it too, it’s just something to keep in mind.

2) signed books vs signed editions

there are a few different ways that signed books can work. primarily, there are signed editions and signed books. both are physically signed by the author, the difference is when in the process these books are signed.

signed books is the ‘old-fashioned’ way, where the author will sit at a table and sign copies of their book. the author usually signs on the title page and for a long time, this was the only way to do it. they have already been printed by the publisher so they will have the same isbn as unsigned books. signed books are usually more limited, often they can be personalized, and if you have ever gone to a proper book signing where the author signed the book in front of you, you have a signed book. signed books are also sometimes made available at the authors local bookstore because they are able to sign them in person. as far as i know, the books that were ordered from danandphilshop or shop.danielhowell during the initial signed run will be signed books. i also believe there are/were limited signed books from uk retailers, i think those are/were signed books (not editions) where the isbn matches the normal first edition of the book.

signed editions are a fairly new thing, and have made signed books so much more accessible which is awesome! signed editions have a different isbn then their normal edition and signed book counterparts. they are technically two different books and are listed as a separate book in stores. that is because signed editions have one (1) extra page. this allows the author to be sent boxes of pages, not books, to sign BEFORE the books are bound. the pages are then sent back to the publisher to be included in the final printed copy of the book.

signed editions help authors to sign even more copies which allows for things like signing hundreds of thousands of copies of a book in some cases. if you are familiar with john green’s books (and hank’s too), he is a large part of the reason signed editions increased in popularity. for example, his book turtles all the way down had a signed edition and a normal edition, they were the same price but the signed edition included the one more page that john had signed. this also allows authors to do fully signed first edition runs, such as john’s new book the anthropocene reviewed (which comes out the same day as dan’s book lol), where every single copy of the first edition is signed (so there is no such thing as an unsigned american first edition, this is becoming more popular for some authors to do especially if the first edition print is not very a large quantity).

if you saw dan’s ig story from today (which was almost definitely a delayed post lmao), he was signing the signed edition papers that will be bound in the signed edition copies of the book in the us. as far as i know, it is only the us publisher that has this option. as you can see on the us store books-a-million, there is a signed edition and a normal edition. they are listed seperately and there are different isbns. the signed edition will be bound with the one extra page that dan has signed.

both types of signed books have been actually signed by dan and are so cool to have if that’s something you want and are able to get. if not, you’re not missing much.

3) book piracy and pricing

i’m not here to tell you what to do, so i won’t. i know being able to buy books is a privilege and dan is a millionaire. full stop. he doesn’t need the money and you probably do.

books are expensive. the difference between cost and price of a book can vary drastically. does your calc textbook actually cost the publisher $300? probably not, but it does cost more per copy to print less copies of something (like a textbook) then it does to print millions of copies of a nyt bestseller. does a $24 book cost that much to develop/print/distribute? maybe.

but most of that money goes to the publisher. the fact of the matter is authors get very little from the actual sale of the book (usually only a couple dollars), which okay, not exactly convincing you against piracy but hear me out. the actual number of sales a book has lets a publisher know how successful a book is, which helps to decide how many more prints/editions are made and often dictates future opportunities for authors.

a series of books that i love is very popular on tumblr, but there was a serious problem a few years ago where copies of the book were being pirated so much, sales were down so drastically, that the publisher almost didn't continue to publish the series. in the case of smaller authors or your favourite ongoing series, buying your copy of the book could be the difference between the existence of the next book or not. in dan’s case, i don’t know what his future plans are, idk if he plans to write more in the future, but i do know that publishers look at previous sales to decide if they are going to publish a book in the future.

ebooks are usually cheaper and more accessible if money is an issue. used books, while not helping with sales, are also a great option if you’re willing to wait and look around. you can often request your local library buy a book and read it that way, or they might even already have it. there probably even audiobooks and ebooks at your local library. stores like am*zon are usually cheaper as well. online stores of large chains like b&n and indigo will often have the books cheaper to match amazon. however if you can, support your local bookstore.

of course if the author is a horrible person do whatever tf you want. also fuck the textbook industry.

tldr: dan worked really hard on his book with professionals to make it the best it could possibly be. i think it looks beautiful, and it will help a lot of people. the publishing industry is a mess but really cool. check the isbn of the copy you ordered if you want clarification or you can just wait for the surprise.

"We're fine, I'm the boss"- Louis Tomlinson

460 days since Louis' last musical release, 468 days since his last performance, but today doesn't count because we got both! Two Of Us is, and facts only here, always, REALLY REALLY FREAKING GOOD HOLY SHIT FRIENDS. It dropped in the middle of the day on a Thurs, totally unreasonable, but immediately shot to number one on the iTunes charts in 33 countries so far and counting, and debuted at number one on the worldwide chart hell yeah baby, trended at number one on twitter for 8 hours (he has his own emoji and it's precious omg), tumblr too, the gorgeous stunning beautiful lyric video is already at a million views, and he made the front page of everything from Rolling Stone to non music related media outlets and was promoted heavily by spotify and shazam and by NIALL YAY and of course (only not really of course so it's still exciting) by Louis' team and label, and by Louis himself, loads of tweets and updates all day long! And he played the song live to a small audience and livestreamed it. The livestream showed only the single being performed, and fans were asked to check their phones so we have no video of the rest but he also answered questions and sang Just Hold On acoustic. Pertinent answers, he said out of the avengers he'd be the Hulk "cause I'm massive" (lol, and sorry spidermanLouis enthusiasts!) and did an impression, he said performing the song was a lot more emotional than he'd expected, and when a fan who had asked him before but never received the promised reply asked again what was his favorite lyric he'd written he said idk I'll get back to you in 18 months! The trolliest my god. What a demon!

There are interviews and articles everywhere (and a cute reading tweets video), he says he "misses the band every day", he says that "between this single and the one we'll have after this, it's a good representation of what the album will be like" ummm yes talk to me more about this multi-single plan you have already omg, he says the album will be "honest, live, and catchy", and he talks about the song, a lot! The coverage is respectful and music focused and so far totally stunt free. There have been some stunty print articles but with zero new material, they are just recycling old quotes some of which REALLY don't seem to have much to do with what they're putting them in about. It's pretty funny to watch them scramble tbh. We were ten for ten until Dan Wootton swept in to rain on our parade with an announcement of a coming interview that will apparently address everything but the music, but we'll see when we see. For now let's focus on the fact that the things that have actually happened are fucking. Amazing. Louis' face looked like it was gonna spilt in two beaming this morning and things have only gotten better since, it's his time to shine and nobody can drag him down.

Business notes: for those who had been waiting for the liner notes to see, yes, Louis is still with Syco. But is he emotionally with them? His retweet of only Arista's promo tweet was entertaining. Two Of Us isn't quite to #1 for the UK/US at press time and the label and LTHQ are asking fans to not wait until tomorrow to buy, so listen up and buy TOU on iTunes today! Not tomorrow! They're making a big push with sponsored posts on ig and Facebook.

And- remember that plagiarism case against everyone involved in writing Night Changes? Sad news for anyone still hoping for a thrilling OT5 courtroom reunion, it was settled out of court. The case is over.

For anyone that can keep track in all this chaos and is wondering about those phone calls that were promised to early hotspot arrivals? It seems like they didn't happen :(

Liam started his day (way too early) with a beautiful sunrise pic and ended it late at the Global Awards, where I hate to have to report that he was up for two awards and didn't get either of them. #liamdeservesbetter friends, but we're seeing now that it can happen, may this be the year lilo rise and see all the good things. He seemed in good spirits though, there are cute videos of him with Roman Kemp and he talks about wanting to do a Mark Ronson collab. He interacted briefly with Cheryl on the red carpet which is getting lots of press.

Harry was spotted out running in London, and despite his eagerness to be off doubled back to say hello to the thrilled fan.

The I Heart Radio Awards voting closes tonight and I'm not saying it was fishy last year but I will say that today, prior to any awards being officially won, they contacted a large (though I wouldn't say popular) Harry UA and offered to fly their American members out to the ceremony and put them up for some weird reason. HSHQ is not involved, that we know of.

There wasn’t a “big larry broke their friendship push” Louis said in an interview with Storyboard (a sort of news source that was published by and on tumblr) that the rumors were affecting how he and Harry behaved in public LINK

That was it... and it was in July 2012. There weren’t “a lot of articles written about it.” There were articles that reported on this. Louis just said what I pasted above. It just rippled around the interwebs after that. And Louis and Harry stayed “BFFs” for a while after that.

Harry didn’t “move out”, they all did. All five of them

The label had rented them apartments in Princess Park Manor in summer 2011, logic will tell you that they had rented them for a year, so in summer 2012, they all had to move out. You just paid attention to the parts you wanted to pay attention to

Harry didn’t “move out because of the rumors” and there wasn’t a push that he and Louis weren’t living together because Larries broke their friendship. That’s Incorrect Larry Lore. The Princess Park Manor lease was up, they all had to buy houses, so in the summer/fall of 2012, they all went house hunting and bought houses

Harry bought his current house, Erskine, in September 2012, but he wanted to do a ton of renovations, so he temporarily moved in with a few friends (Ed Sheeran, Lou Teasdale, and Ben Winston). He also spent a lot of time with Nick

He absolutely DID move out. He couldn’t have possibly stayed in Princess Park Manor because... he didn’t have a lease anymore. Louis bought his current house in Barnet, Harry bought Erskine. That’s.. that. Larries just say that Harry’s house is too public and he’d never live there, so therefore that’s his fake house, but that’s all you have to go on about how they “definitely live together”. That and that Harry would make jokes about not having a house in 2013. But that’s because he didn’t. Because his house was being renovated. So he jumped from Ben’s attic, to Lou’s sofa, to Ed’s spare room. He didn’t have a house, he made fun of himself. You took that as shade, because of course you did

Harry absolutely lives in Hamsptead whenever he’s in London. He’s ALWAYS spotted around it. This last week alone, he was spotted all around the area. Y’all just live in denial. He had a studio built in that house so he could record there. He actually recorded part of his album there (it’s in the liner notes of his album). He also has an underground garage and entrance, so he’s not bothered when he gets there and leaves (that’s something that fans that walk around the house noticed). According to himself, he redid the whole kitchen, and who knows what else. He obviously put a lot of time, effort, and money into that house that you think he doesn’t live in despite the fact that he’s always around it. Typical Larrie fail

Paparazzi were not stopped from photographing them together. That’s a made up Larrie lie. There are paparazzi pictures of them together at several band events, arriving or leaving. They just don’t hang out outside of the band, so there’s nothing to photograph

They weren’t stopped from riding cars together. You’re talking about that one video where Harry thinks he’s got to ride the car in the front and is told that no, his car is the one in the back. That’s... it. Louis was with Eleanor, even in your made up world, what would be the issue with Louis, Eleanor, and Harry riding a car together? Nobody would’ve batted an eye.. They just had assigned cars and drivers and Harry got confused

Dan wrote sensationalist articles, there’s nothing novel about that and it proves nothing about Larry. Literally no one believes Harry and Louis hate each other. Just like we don’t believe Harry slept with 410 women in a year. We understand that tabloids are tabloids..

They hugged on stage that night because it was the 1D’s last ever concert. They all hugged on stage. There was nothing special about their hug and it would’ve been fucking weird if they hadn’t, when everyone else was hugging each other. Watch in context for yourself

Just because Harry and Louis don’t say they fucking hate you doesn’t mean they’re not bothered by you. This whole idea that print interviews are somehow meaningless is fucking ridiculous. Did you know that you legally can’t print something that the person you’re interviewing didn’t say? You can switch the wording to make the concept clearer but you can’t purposefully misquote people. And Harry has never talked about Larry in print interviews, wouldn’t that be something “they” would definitely do if “they” had the power to do so? Louis has said in interviews that Larries are disrespectful towards Eleanor and Freddie and this is either audio or video, so why you’re jerking off to “it’s in print” is beyond me

On stage they smile at fans. Not Larries. Fans. Because they’re performing for fans. This is why big Larries are so fucking harmful, propagating lies about how they specifically looked at them and smiled at them and because they’re Larries, absolute bullshit. Never proven, in fact, a lot of times it was proven these were lies. They have never sang to each other, let alone “gone out of their way” to do so. All Larrie lies. Using angles to show something that you could see from another angle wasn’t true and ignoring it when it was pointed out

Harry waving rainbow flags has Z E R O to do with Larry, you fucking piece of shit. He never waved a rainbow “always in my heart” flag. In fact, at the Rio de Janeiro concert, where they were selling rainbow flags with that bullshit written on them, Harry LITERALLY checked that the flags didn’t have anything written on them before waving them

We all think that they drifted apart because they matured and changed as people with time. Part 1: I know that a lot of people are talking about how miserable Louis looks right now and it may not have anything to do with his record label. I sometimes look through the various larry blogs and they are low key talking about potential problems in the Tomlinson-Deakin family. The stepfather recently resigned as director of one of Louis' companies. Honestly, I should be transcribing my notes, but meh. While I do think the music situation is another problem added to his misfortunes, this is also not far-fetched. Granted, Big Larries perpetuate a disturbing habit of cult stalking everyone surrounding celebrities.

Anyhow, I did find it odd that for a while on IG, Phoebe/Daisy accounts stated that they were managed by Dan. I can’t recall if Lottie had the same header on her IG, but I remember the twins having something to the effect of: “this account is managed by Dan Deakin”. I found it a bit odd that he started managing the accounts. Also, another mutual (who is now on an indefinite hiatus) had mentioned that she found it disturbing that Deakin’s twins were constantly on social media. In addition, for a minute it looked like Lottie && Tommy were raising the kids because every snapchat story of Lottie involved bathing twins, feeding twins, putting them to sleep, handling their fevers, going on walks, going to the park, etc…. Everything was surrounding the little twins.

I’m assuming that the constant contact had to do with comforting the little ones with the recent death of their mother. However, in recent times, I’ve noticed on my dash (when a few of my mutuals share lottie shit) that Lottie doesn’t share that much Deakin twins media anymore. For one, I believe Dan may be a private person. I mean we hardly see him on social media; so, maybe he wasn’t a fan of the cult of fame that the Tomlinson clan clearly enjoys. For all we know, he told them to knock it off. Also, maybe it wasn’t in the Tomlinson’s clan best interest to have Dan manage them. Again, not to keep drawing comparisons, but they’re hardly the Kardashian-Jenner clan. The matriarch is Kris && whatever she says go. In this case, Johannah is dead && there are technically three fathers involved (granted, Louis’ is an absentee father). Moreover, 5/7 are still “minors”, I think.

As far as Louis buying a four bedroom home, that would mean there’s a room for Louis && the minors: Fizzy, Daisy && Phoebe. Lottie is already living w/ Tommy so he’s not someone that Louis is worrying about. I don’t follow the siblings or stalk them for that matter. However, the other day while I was laughing my ass off upon discovering that people actually stan Gordon Ramsay’s fkn kids, I noticed the pic one of he twins posted of them as kids w/ Louis && the caption reading something to the effect of “before life got complicated”. Hmmm… perhaps there are issues. I read somewhere on here on tumblr about another rumor about Mark trying to seek custody of his three kids????

Lord Jesus. Who fkn knows. But, what we can take away from this fiasco is this: DON’T HAVE TOO MANY BABY DADDIES BC SHIT GETS COMPLICATED. Also: IF YOU DO HAVE A TON OF BABY DADDIES, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A WILL OR SOMETHING TO AVOID FUTURE PROBLEMS UPON THE DEATH OF ONE OR BOTH PARENTS.

It’s not easy being a parent, much less when you have stepchildren. Laws are laws && it can be a fkn mess.

In-flight wifi was a God sent gift on the flight to London.

Despite appearing calm and feeling tired, you couldn’t get to sleep for the first few hours due to anxious energy.

You decided to catch up on a Netflix show that Gen had recommended to you, seeing as you probably had a while before you’d be able fall asleep.

The second episode was almost finished when your phone buzzed with a twitter notification, so you waited for it to end before checking twitter.

Now you were the one with a twinge in your heart as you read Danneel’s tweet.

You typed out a reply without thinking about it, hitting ‘tweet’ before you realised that you hadn't posted anything to social media since your baby announcement.

You contemplated deleting it straight away, but likes were already coming in so you knew that someone would have a screenshot anyway.

It was weird for you to think that people would have you on tweet notifications, but the speed that the reactions were coming in couldn’t have all been coincidence.

Deciding to leave the tweet as it was, you muted your phone and put it down in your bag.

You wouldn’t have known what to say if you’d planned your comeback to twitter anyway, so you figured this was an okay way to go.

Pushing the issue to the back of your mind, you continued onto episode three.

The flight landed at Heathrow airport twenty minutes late, so you called Danneel the second you were left in the lounge.

She picked up on the first ring.

“I’ve been waiting for this call for hours,” she told you in place of a greeting, and you laughed softly.

“I called as soon as I could, the plane was just-”

“I know, I know, a little bit late,” she sighed. “I’m still allowed to worry about my girl.”

“Well, no need to worry,” you assured her. “I even grabbed a couple hours.”

You smiled thanks to the member of staff that brought your luggage to you.

“I’m gonna try and sleep some more in the car, but with Misha with me I’m not sure that’ll work,” you told Danneel, surprised to hear a deeper voice on the other end of the line.

“Hey kiddo, you alive?” Jensen asked, and you laughed again.

“Yeah, I’m alive,” you confirmed, hearing Danneel ask for her phone back in the background.

“Does that mean we can go to sleep now?” Jensen yawned, and you found yourself catching the yawn from all the way across the Atlantic.

“Yeah,” you told him. “Tell Dan that she doesn’t need to worry and that I’ll be fine.”

“Y/N says you can stop being a little bitch about it now that she’s landed safe.”

“Hey!” you laughed. “That’s not what I said.”

“He was worried, too,” Danneel insisted, and you rolled your eyes.

“Y’all are such parents,” you teased. “I’m fine. I’ll see you when I talk to Tex later.”

“Okay,” Danneel agreed. “We’ll sleep, but I still want you to text me.”

“Of course,” you assured her, pausing. “How is she?”

“Sleeping,” Danneel told you. “Missing you and Baby Dits.”

You sighed, the twinge back in your heart.

“I’ve never been homesick before but I think that sentence just made me.”

“Try and enjoy yourself,” she reminded you before breaking off into a yawn of her own.

You nodded, contemplative.

“Okay, well,” you sighed. “Goodnight, guys. Get some sleep.”

“Night, sweetheart,” Jensen murmured. “Stay safe.”

You smiled, looking down at your lap.

“Yeah,” you sighed. “You too.”

With one last ‘love you’ from Danneel, you hung up the phone.

Due to the slight delay of your flight, you had less time to wait before Misha would arrive. It was still a twenty-five minute wait, but you could entertain yourself for that long.

Getting comfortable in your armchair, it suddenly hit you how far away you were from home, and from JJ.

JJ, who’d already been asking her mom when you were coming home.

You pulled your headphones from your bag, reminding yourself that you’d be talking to her later and that she was safe and sleeping soundly with her family nearby as you searched for what you wanted on Spotify.

You closed your eyes as the Tangled soundtrack started to play.

Surprisingly, Misha was on board with your plan to sleep on the way up to Blackpool.

“It’s a five hour drive, and when we get there it’ll barely be lunchtime,” he reminded you once you were in the car. “So I think sleeping in here makes sense. You and the baby need rest.”

“Baby Ditto,” you corrected, the two of you looking at each other before you burst out laughing. “It’s… sorry. JJ’s name for the baby. Everyone else has been using it, I guess you should, too.”

“Alright, kiddo,” he laughed, shifting in his seat so he was leaning against the window. “You and Baby Ditto need rest.”

Misha was right, you definitely needed the rest.

The two of you were the first of the guests to arrive at the hotel, but you managed to get to your rooms without too much disruption.

Once you’d deposited your suitcases, Misha suggested going on a walk along the coast to find somewhere to eat.

The scent of the sea hit you as you walked down the promenade towards the pier.

The two of you were wearing sunglasses, but nothing else to disguise who you were, and you couldn’t help but remember that there were thousands of Supernatural fans in the city right now.

“It’s not that much of a problem,” Misha assured you. “Maybe someone will snap a picture of us together and the heat will be off Jensen in the rumour department for a while.”

You pulled a face as he looked down to see your reaction.

“Hey!” he gasped, offended. “I’m a good looking guy!”

“I didn’t deny that,” you laughed. “But… dude.”

He shook his head.

“Am I really that repulsive?” he asked and you stopped walking, standing in front of him.

“Nobody said you’re repulsive,” you reminded him, “But you’re more than twice my age. Are you actually offended?”

He finally cracked a smile, and you hit his chest.

“You’re an ass,” you told him, starting to walk again. “I thought I’d actually hurt your feelings by saying I didn’t want to bang you.”

He smirked, throwing his arm around your shoulders.

“There are plenty of girls your age that want to bang me,” he told you, and you rolled your eyes. “I’m not kidding, you should see what people write about me.”

“You need to stop lurking on your tumblr tag,” you told him, and he laughed.

“I don’t read them,” he assured you. “There’s a lot of Deanity shit on that site, too.”

You pulled another face and he took his arm from your shoulders to shove his hands in his pockets.

“People need to stop shipping me with people old enough to be my dad,” you murmured, and he raised an eyebrow at you.

“Dean and Trinity have the same age gap as you and Jare-”

“Shut up,” you groaned, elbowing his side.

You continued to walk in silence, the ocean glistening in the sun.

“Have you seen the theory about it actually being Jeff’s kid?” Misha asked, and you let out a shocked laugh.

“What?” you asked, incredulous. “You’re kidding.”

He shook his head, laughing.

“No, apparently people think his tweet was a double bluff,” he told you.

“I’ve met him literally one time,” you argued, and he held his hands up in defeat. “Hilarie was there the whole time.”

“I thought you swung both ways,” he teased, and you shoved him.

“Shut up,” you laughed. “God, why do I tell you anything?”

“Because I could say literally anything at conventions and people would take it as a joke,” he offered. “I’ve spilled so many secrets by accident but the fans write it off as ‘Misha fucking with us’.”

You nodded, knowing that to be true.

“Also, I didn’t hear any complaints about Jeff’s age,” he mentioned, sub-casually. “He’s older than me.”

“You,” you sighed, shaking your head. “You are a pain in the ass.”

You were both laughing when you heard a call of Misha’s name across the street.

You looked across to see a couple of girls trying to cross the road to see you.

“You have to take the lead, here,” you told him, pushing your sunglasses back up into your hair as he tucked his into his shirt.

“They’re just people,” he reminded you, smiling as there was a lull in traffic and the girls rushed over to your side of the road.

You FaceTimed Danneel once you were back in your hotel room, knowing that they’d be awake despite the time difference.

You had a few minutes to talk to her before JJ came bursting in, demanding to speak to you.

“Ditto, when you coming home?” she asked you, before even saying hello as she crawled into her mom’s lap.

“Twelve days,” you told her, smiling sadly. “It’ll go quick though, I promise.”

“Daddy said he gets to see you nex’ week,” she pouted. “An’ I gotta wait a whole twelve days?”

“Daddy’s gotta come to Rome,” you reminded her. “You and your mommy are staying home with Arrow and Zeppy.”

“Tom an’ Shep get to go,” she argued, and you looked to Danneel for help.

“Aunt Mama and Uncle Jared are both going,” Danneel answered her daughter. “So the boys gotta go, too.”

“Then they can take me,” she said with a tone of finality.

Danneel sighed, kissing the top of JJ’s head.

“I’m not sure,” she told her. “But I promise you can talk to Ditto every day.”

JJ nodded, looking at you on the screen in front of her.

“Every day?” she asked you, and you nodded.

“Every day,” you promised. “Tell me what you did yesterday.”

The change in subject worked to distract JJ for a few minutes, telling you all about her day, conveniently missing out - as Danneel told you later - the amount of tantrums she threw at bedtime because you weren’t there.

By the time the call ended, you felt like a weight had been lifted from your chest.

You made JJ promise to go to sleep without a fuss while you were away, and she agreed on the condition that you got to have a full Ditto and Tex day when you got back.

As if that was gonna be a chore.

Your phone told you that it was just after 4pm local time, so 10am back home.

You’d texted Jared and Gen when you’d got to Blackpool, and they’d replied a couple of hours ago, so you knew that they were awake.

You decided to call Genevieve to see if they were available to talk at all.

Maybe you were a little homesick. You were in a different country for the first time ever and you missed your family, it was understandable.

You thought it was going to ring out - figuring that they were busy and they’d call you back later - but they picked up on what must’ve been the last ring.

“Hey.”

Just the one word told you that Jared was out of breath.

“Hey,” you laughed softly. “What, did you lose Gen’s phone or something?”

He laughed, breathlessly.

“Or something,” he told you. “How are you? How was the flight?”

Something was still off about his voice, but you were so happy to be talking to him that you didn’t really notice.

“I’m good, and it was long,” you smiled, leaning back against your headboard.

You heard Gen laugh slightly in the background, and you rolled your eyes.

“Mature,” you teased.

Jared laughed too, followed by a cut-off groan from Gen.

Suddenly, you sat bolt upright.

“Are you guys…?” you asked, shaking your head. “Shit, are you fucking?”

Jared laughed, low and deep, before Genevieve answered.

“Didn’t take you long to catch on,” she teased, and you smirked, finding your confidence.

“I’d know the sound of your moans anywhere,” you told her, causing one of those moans to leave her lips. “Anyway, I’ll leave you to it.”

“Or,” Jared offered, “You could stay.”

You bit your lip, when you realised what he was implying.

“I could?” you asked, hearing Gen’s breathless laugh on the other end of the line.

“Yeah,” she agreed. “You could.”

You’d just got out of the shower when there was a knock on your hotel room door.

You were only in a towel, your hair dripping down your back, so you called out for them to give you a minute.

You pulled on a sweater - one of Gen’s that you’d only just noticed she’d added to your case - and a pair of sleep shorts. It wasn’t what you wanted to be wearing, but you didn’t want to leave whoever was at the door waiting for too long.

You ran your hands through your wet hair as you walked to the door, opening with an apology on your lips.

Briana cut off your apology by pulling you into a hug.

“Woah, hey,” you smiled as she pulled back. “Good to see you, too.”

“What’s new, hot mama?” Kim asked, pushing past the two of you and making herself comfortable in your room.

You laughed softly, letting Briana in and closing the door behind you.

“To what do I owe the pleasure of your company?” you asked, perching on the arm of the couch that they’d thrown themselves onto.

“You’re part of the ‘Hot Supernatural Mama’s Club’ now,” Briana told you, and you raised an eyebrow.

“There’s a club?” you asked, and Kim laughed.

“Not officially,” she told you. “But, you know, congrats on the baby.”

You nodded, running a hand over your small bump through the sweater.

“Thanks,” you smiled. “But I didn’t do all the work, Jared should get half the credit.”

Their eyes shot to each other for a moment, before looking back at you.

“Ah,” you cringed. “I thought… I thought you knew.”

“We did not,” Kim told you, sitting up straighter.

You sighed, shaking your head.

“We can keep a secret,” Briana assured you.

“I know, and most of the current cast and crew know anyway. Other than the Supernatural people it’s still hush-hush,” you explained. “Jared’s the father. And I’m kinda… in a relationship with him and Gen.”

They nodded slowly, before a smirk found it’s way onto Kim’s face.

“Sounds hot,” she teased, and you laughed.

“You have no idea.”

She rolled her eyes when Briana’s jaw dropped open, changing the subject to what they really came to your room for.

“Have you looked at the schedule?” Kim asked, and you shook your head.

“I was gonna check it when I was out of the shower but…” you trailed off, your wet hair finishing your sentence for you.

“You’ve got a solo panel tomorrow,” she explained, and your entire demeanor changed.

“Wh-” you cleared your throat, “What?”

“It’s about time, really,” Briana admitted. “You’re main cast, sweetie.”

You shook your head, laughing awkwardly.

“Do you think the organisers realise how much the fans hate me?” you joked, but Kim didn’t find it funny.

“We have our duo ops during your panel,” she told you. “So we can’t even just force our way onto the stage.”

“We heard what happened with Kat last time,” Briana added. “We wanted to check up on you, but-”

“I’ll be able to handle it,” you insisted. “If anybody starts on me, I’ll get security to ask them to leave. It’ll be okay.”

They both nodded, unsure.

“You also have a panel with Misha on Sunday,” Kim informed you. “Which, honestly, I’m unsure whether that’s better or worse than being alone.”

You laughed, shaking your head and looking down at your feet, wiggling your toes. You wondered, absently, how long it would be before your bump obscured the view.

“Anyway,” Briana smiled, getting to her feet. “Put some pants on, we’re going out.”

You raised an eyebrow, and she grinned.

“Supernatural Hot Mama’s Club, plus Katherine. We’re going out for drinks,” she told you, and you laughed, shaking your head.

“I’m very much not going to be drinking,” you reminded her, but she just shrugged.

“Then you can have a Coke or something.”

“I’m on low caffeine, too,” you admitted, and they rolled their eyes.

“Jesus, then a Sprite, whatever,” Kim told you. “Come out with us. We’ll get food. It’ll be fun.”

You agreed when you realised they weren’t giving up on it.

“What kinda hippy-ass diet have the Padaleckis got you on?” Briana murmured as you ushered her towards the door so you could get changed.

“One suitable for pregnant women that have no idea what they’re doing,” you shot back, and she laughed, hugging you again before patting your bump as she left.

“We’ll be back in fifteen. You better be dressed.”

You laughed, hugging Kim back and kissing her cheek as she followed Briana out into the hallway.

Kim was right, it was fun, and on Saturday morning you were grateful that you couldn’t drink.

You were tired enough from jet lag as it was, you weren’t sure you’d be able to cope with a hangover as well.

Luckily, all you had to do that morning was autographs.

You tried to interact with people - as much as the event staff would let you - so that their experience was as good as it should be for the price they paid.

You knew that you were down as a ‘special guest’, which meant that no level of ticket at this convention included an autograph or picture with you, so anybody in your line had paid extra just for this moment.

You answered questions about the baby when they weren’t too personal, and other questions about the show when you could without giving anything away.

One little girl nearly made you slip up, but you managed to recover it when she asked why you couldn’t tell anyone who the daddy was.

“It’s not fair for me to make that part of his life public,” you explained, gently. “Not yet, anyway.”

“Is he shy?” she asked, looking up at you with big, concerned eyes.

“He is quite shy, yeah,” you agreed, smiling sadly. “But he loves me and Baby Ditto very much, and that’s all that matters, right?”

She nodded, smiling as you signed her poster and handed it back to her.

Something in her innocence, in the lack of judgement in her expression and the concern radiating from her, made you want to tell her the truth.

But, then again, there were hundreds of people in that room - not to mention a PA you barely knew right next to you - so it was better you kept it to yourself.

They’d find out in time, anyway.

Your heart was racing as you walked out on stage, smiling and waving to the fans as if you weren’t silently freaking the fuck out.

You sat yourself down in the stool in the middle of the stage, and waited for the applause to die down.

Once there was a lull, you brought your mic to your lips to say hi.

“I miss Kat,” was what you said, instead.

The crowd started to laugh, and you let out a huff of amusement at yourself.

“I’m not kidding,” you admitted. “She’s like my comfort blanket at these things.”

“You’ll be great!” someone shouted, causing the people around her to clap and cheer.

“I honestly have no idea what to talk about for the next forty minutes,” you replied. “I need help on stage or y’all are gonna find out what a dork I am.”

You noticed the fans lined up at the side of the hall, realising that the first was being kept back by some of the event staff until you were ready to take some questions.

“Oh, please,” you told them, “Let them ask questions now, I have nothing interesting or funny to say. I need some help.”

The crowd laughed, and you smiled, wishing it wasn’t as true as it was.

The first girl stepped up to the mic.

“Hi,” she smiled. “My name’s Emily.”

“Hey, I’m Y/N,” you replied, and she laughed softly.

“My question is kind of boring,” she admitted. “I was wondering where your accent came from? Your IMDb says you’re from Los Angeles, but you don’t sound Californian.”

“Where’s yours from?” you asked, hedging the question for a bit.

“Cambridge,” she told you, blushing. “Well, just south of there.”

You nodded.

“Y’all here sound so much fancier than me,” you told them, and the crowd laughed. “I’m serious, like y’all don’t even have to try and it sounds like you got a Masters from Caltech or something.”

You waited for the laughter to die down before finally answering her question.

“I’m actually from Oklahoma,” you told her, nodding when her eyes said ‘really?’. “Born and raised. I moved to LA when I was eighteen.”

“With your family?” Emily asked and you cleared your throat.

“No, ah- on my own,” you corrected. “It was a clean slate, fresh start kind of thing.”

She nodded, thanked you for answering her question, and then left to find her seat again as the next fan took to the mic.

“Hey, it’s kind of a continuation of the last question,” he mentioned, and you nodded. “When you sign autographs, you don’t use your last name. Is that… is that a conscious thing?”

You pulled in a long breath.

You’d wanted questions, and you were getting them, but you didn’t really want to be talking about this.

“I, uh,” you forced a short laugh. “It’s conscious, yeah. I don’t associate myself with that name, really.”

He nodded in understanding.

“So, your baby-”

“Two minutes,” you interrupted, grinning. “Sorry, I had a bet with Briana to see how long my panel would go before the baby was mentioned. Sorry, continue.”

He laughed softly, a blush rising on his cheeks.

“Will your baby take your name?”

“No,” you said, more blunt than you intended under the circumstances. “Sorry, no, my surname ends with me. Baby Ditto will take its father’s name.”

He nodded, looking like he wanted to say something else but not wanting to push his luck.

“What is it?” you asked, kindly. “C’mon, I don’t scare easy.”

“I was just thinking… isn’t it lonely?” he asked. “Not talking to your family? Your parents?”

You shook your head.

“It’s… it used to be,” you allowed. “But now… it’s different. Danneel called me, earlier. Just while we were breaking for lunch, she’d just woken up with the twins so she called to check on me.”

‘Aww’s went around the hall, and you smiled, nodding.

“She’s the only mom I need, y’know?”

The fan at the mic nodded, apologising for the personal questions.

“It’s okay,” you assured him, and he thanked you before leaving the line.

The next girl stepped up as your phone started buzzing in your pocket.

“Shit, sorry, one sec,” you smiled, pulling your phone out to see Danneel trying to connect with a FaceTime call. “Speak of the devil.”

You answered the call with your mic to your lips, ready to talk to Danneel on stage and tease her for interrupting your panel.

To your surprise, JJ’s face lit up the screen.

“Uh, Tex, what are you doing with Mommy’s phone?” you asked, and the crowd burst out laughing.

“Mommy said I could play on it,” she told you, looking very proud of herself.

“Does calling me count as playing?” you asked, and she shrugged.

“She said I could talk to you later,” she offered. “And… it’s later, Ditto.”

‘Aww’s flooded the room once more, and JJ frowned at you.

“Wassat?” she asked.

You stood up, turning around so that she could see the audience.

“I’m on stage, sweetie,” you explained as the people behind you waved.

She lifted a hand and waved back, still confused.

“Can I call you back in a bit?” you asked, and she nodded as you turned back to sit on the stool.

“Yeah,” she sighed, over-dramatic. Jensen had told you that was something she’d learnt from you, but you’d deny it until the day you died even though he was definitely right. “I just miss ya.”

“I miss you, too,” you smiled sadly.

“Is Baby Ditto okay? Have you been eatin’ veggies?” she asked, and you laughed softly, feeling yourself start to blush.

“Yes I have, sweetie,” you assured her, turning your phone to face the audience. “Can you say bye-bye to all these people?”

“Yah, bye!”

There were calls of ‘goodbye’ from damn-near everyone in that hall, and you smiled as you turned the phone back to face you, seeing JJ’s grinning face.

“What kinda veggies?” she pressed, and you laughed fondly.

“I’ll talk to you later, okay?” you asked, and she nodded. “Alright, I love you.”

“I love you more,” she replied, automatically.

“And I love you most,” you responded, tapping your lips with two fingers before tapping the camera, and she did the same. “Bye, Tex.”

“See ya later.”

You hung up, putting your phone in your pocket before smiling an apology to the fan at the mic.

“Sorry about that. I promised I’d talk to her every day, and she gets a little impatient,” you laughed awkwardly, and she shook her head.

“That was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen,” she told you, and the crowd cheered in agreement. “And it actually works well, because my question was about the nicknames.”

You smiled, nodding.

“Ditto and Tex?” you asked, and she nodded. “It… Tex is just short for ‘Texas’. JJ’s got the cutest lil’ accent, so I’d been calling her ‘Lil Miss Texas’ and it kinda shortened from there.”

“And Ditto?” she questioned.

You couldn’t help but smile.

“Her dad calls me ‘kiddo’ more often than he calls me ‘Y/N’,” you explained. “The morning after I moved in, they told me I was gonna have to look after JJ all day-”

“Ditto daycare!” someone called out, and you laughed.

“Yeah, Ditto daycare,” you agreed. “But yeah, Jensen and JJ came into my room and she misheard ‘kiddo’ and called me ‘Ditto’. From then it’s stuck. The whole family calls the baby ‘Baby Ditto’.”

“That’s… really cute,” she told you, grinning. “You guys make such a cute family.”

“Tex is my best girl,” you agreed. “I’m lucky to have her as part of my family, now.”

EUROPE INITIATION - PART 2: BARCELONA

It’s very tempting to intellectualize a trip to Spain if you’re a history buff traveling from the Philippines. After all, we were their colony for more than 300 years. They taught us religion and until now their language is deeply ingrained in our own language - if not largely derived from it.

Many years after Spain sold the Philippines to America for $20,000, their influence in our culture still resounds very strongly. Our current standard for beauty for example, as it was back when they ruled us, are the mestizos and mestizas. Those skin whitening billboards in EDSA have deep historical roots. The future of the glutathione/skin whitening business probably has 300 more years to it. (Side note: something that always makes me laugh - there was a time when a certain feminine wash brand was widely advertised on tv and on billboards for having the ability whiten vaginas! I mean, that’s taking crazy to a whole new level! LMAO!) 😂😂😂

Going back, history is a very subjective matter. Historians are known to bend the truth based on their biases. For example, our history books mostly tell the Spanish colonization as a story of oppression, abuse and slavery. The Spanish being the bad guys. I wonder how Spanish historians wrote about the Philippines in their books. Were we mere tribes they rescued from our primitive caves? Do they look back to us now as that colony they sold to the Americans but still can’t seem to figure things out and to this day struggles as a nation? I should have asked but I was too distracted with Gaudi’s and Dali’s work during my vacation.

Anyway, picture story time. HAHA!

I’m just posting this photo coz I’m GGSS here HAHA! 😅 The Amsterdam leg of my vacation made me look rested in this picture. Teehee! 🤪 This was me while waiting to board my flight to Spain from the Schiphol airport in Holland.

This was from Sant Antoni beach in Calonge. To be fair, they have nice beaches in Spain naman pala. And coming from a beach baby from the Philippines that’s saying a lot. Plus lots of Spanish eye candy, if you know what I mean. Wink.

This was a street in Figueres. Nice right? Also, I know I have to stop doing the thumbs up pose in my pictures. HAHA!

Sagrada Familia - Gaudi’s masterpiece in construction. Targeted to be completed in 2026. Perhaps a good time to come back to Barcelona?

This was at Park Güell. It wasn’t long before someone told me not to sit on that spot.

Dalí wanted eggs on top of the building - and so there were eggs.

There weren’t a lot of original works of Dalí in his museum in Figueres. Most of them are in Florida. His best work (for me at least) is the Persistence of Memory which I’ve seen many times at the MoMA in New York.

Montserrat - I really went full on pastel in Barcelona. Mainit kasi!

There really was no way for me to miss this trip in Figueres - I’ve been a fan of Dali’s the very first moment I saw Persistence of Memory. I don’t consider myself an art connoisseur by any stretch but I tend to geek out and fanboy on a good amount of art.

Inside the church in Montserrat. They have a boy’s choir here but too bad they were on a summer break or something. Boy’s choirs usually sound like angels, don’t you think? Speaking of maybe I should YouTube their performance while I’m typing this post.

This one’s in Púbol - I tell ya Call Me By Your Name vibes this place. Like Crema in Italy (I’ve never been but we’ve seen the movie!)

By this time, you’d realize that the pictures are not chronological - eh Tumblr kasi magulo. But anyway, this was back at Park Güell - have to note that the whole time I was in Barcelona I was constantly on guard because of all the warnings about pickpockets being everywhere. Couldn’t relax at all.

Barcelona was basically Gaudi’s playground. That’s another building he designed. He truly sees the world differently, no? Which made me wonder if the word “gaudy” has its roots on Gaudi’s name. After all, Gaudi’s work wasn’t widely embraced back then. Many people actually thought that it was too, well, gaudy. But of course now we are able to appreciate the beauty of his mind and his work.

This was from Pubol where Dali built a castle for his wife. I mean, I could almost imagine Armie Hammer stepping out of that car. Funny story, it’s rumored and it’s probably true that Dali never had sex with his wife. However, his wife invites young athletic tennis players to “play” with while Dali “watched”. Very European.

Sagrada Familia. I wrote in my Instagram that I don’t understand why it’s taking them forever to finish construction of the church. Then I got a DM from Moscow or Paris (who knows?) about some conspiracy theory from Dan Brown’s book. I mean, seriously you’re gonna try to lecture me by referring to a Dan Brown book? K.

The church is undeniably beautiful though. I’d like to go back when it’s fully completed in 2026. Now there’s a conspiracy theory! Tourism boom for when it’s completed! Aha, it’s all just a business plot! 🤪I can’t say I’m 100% just kidding - it kinda makes practical sense. Seriously though, AMAZING architecture! The level of detail is just next... level!

Park Güell was simply photogenic in all angles.

The Spanish countryside is beautiful! I could imagine myself vacationing for a whole summer in Figueres when I’m older and retired maybe.

Dali’s elephant.

Dali’s lips. Well, not literally but if you know his work you’ll know what I mean.

Those blue teardrops (they’re probably not teardrops but I say they are) were made with condoms. Tears in the form of contraception’s post coital effect. How very Dali!

I enjoyed the food in Barcelona, too. But I didn’t take pictures. You can check out my IG stories if you wanna see the trip in video.

All in all, Barcelona was nice but the whole pickpockets warning thing took away from my experience so I didn’t fall in love with it, you know what I’m saying?
