the sandhill cranes are back! I got to see some mating displays, which apparently involve tossing things in the air and hopping around (｡>ヮ< )

#my photography!#bird photography #birding #birds #sandhill crane #I went at sunset instead of dawn for the first time (with my camera) and it was so great #the light wasn't great for my old camera but all the people cleared out and it was so serene #and the frogs! gosh after the sun went down they immediately got louder #and their ribbiting echoed off the water and it was wonderful all around me #and when the sun was setting all the swallows got one last meal in #and once it was too dark for me to see for the most part I saw the bats ( ♡∇♡ )#I could hear them sort of fluttering around me #and I could hear geese flying around even though I couldn't see them #it was amazing I'm excited to go again

one time like a year ago a giant hornet (?) got into my apartment and i managed to get it out the door but then an hour later it was somehow back in?? and i don’t even live in that apartment anymore but it haunts me to this day because i still don’t know how it got in either time and i never will

#idk for sure if it was a hornet but i know it was a HUGE flying bug #and i think about it all the time #like first of all idk how it got into the apartment in the first place #bc my roommate had left that morning so that was the only time the door would’ve been open #but even then that would just be the door to the hallway. not to outside #and it would’ve only been open for like 5 seconds #and it was HUGE so theoretically he would’ve noticed if it had flown in #anyways so then i get it out the door that leads outside #and it’s POSSIBLE i didn’t actually get it out when i thought i did. but then why would it wait an hour to start flying around again #like it felt like it just appeared right next to my face an hour later #and if it had been around before then i would’ve known bc it was LOUD #i remember that morning i heard a distant buzzing when i woke up #and as soon as i opened my bedroom door it was much louder bc this huge bug was circling the living room #which brings us back to how the fuck did it get in #there were big bugs in that apartment sometimes because part of the door was broken #so i taped it so they couldn’t get in and that mostly stopped the giant spiders and other bugs #and the hornet was definitely post-tape #AND i remember the second time i got it outside it was flying into the window like it was trying to get back in #so how did it get in and what the fuck was inside that it wanted so bad #guys. this haunts me and i will never get answers to any of these questions.#iirc like a day later i was in the leasing office for a completely different reason #and there was someone there that was over because HIS apartment was infested with hornets #but it was a completely different building than mine #so what the fuck was going on with these hornets #i hate bugs so much why do they terrorize me specifically

Idk how to tell some people this. It's okay to dislike things for whatever reason, but repeatedly stating your opinion like it's fact just makes you sound ignorant and annoying.

Example:

I don't love playing Samurai. There's not really a particular reason, objectively it's a great DPS, the rotation is fine, but it doesn't click with me. If anyone ASKS ME if I dislike a class I might say "eh I don't really care for SAM. Just isn't for me."

I do not jump on my Samurai and start telling anyone and everyone REPEATEDLY "ugh it's just such an awful class, idk how anyone would play it" unsolicited. It's annoying. Doing so does not make my opinion correct. People didn't ask and it becomes really unlikeable really fast.

#easy as pie #there is someone in my friend group that does this for everything and its become a massive pet peeve #she doesnt even get creative in her hatred she just picks one dumb reason and says it over and over and over everytime #she hates lalafels and when everyone fantasia'd to lala for fun #she told us “idk how you would take yourself seriously in cutscenes when you look that stupid”#every. single. time.#and when she leveled picto she said “idk how anyone would take you seriously in battle holding a paintbrush. this class is dumb”#every. single. dungeon.#and she didnt have an interest in playong dragons dogma 2 when it came out #but instead of saying “idc” she repeatedly said “its got DLC so its an unfinished game so its trash”#it has optional items DLC and DLC is scummy but it wasnt unfinished and when she was told that #she just repeated herself louder #this was a vent post if the tags didnt fill you in #also im sorry to my sam playing friends (ree) for my example it just was the first thing that came into mind #THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH IT ITS JUST ME
