Okay, here’s one thing I think When The Phone Rings doesn’t understand.

When someone suffers from selective mutism, they CAN TALK!

Like, it would be totally believable and understandable that she can talk to her husband on the phone and still suffer from selective mutism. That’s what the selective part of selective mutism means.

But it’s like, the moment anyone realizes she is capable of making sounds, they think she’s cured and faking it (which she is) but that is not the case at all.

And honestly it is wholly believable that after pretending to be mute for so long she would actually develop selective mutism since it occurred during her developmental phase.

Also, if my speculations are correct and they are indeed following the main line of the novel, this is going to be a hella dramatic happy ending.

At this point I'm so in love with WTPR, that even if the final will be somewhat underwhelming, I just won't notice it. I will be sitting trough it with the happy puppy face

The scene in QoT that hurt a lot. When she refused to marry him - though it's clear they both still love each other. She sees herself as a burden because she is sick and doesn't want to be with him but he finally sees the woman he loves now that the loss is imminent - the hurt and resentment didn't matter as long as he had a chance to build and live a life with her. I think the quote perfectly captures it and the coloring captures the melancholy and clarity they both have and it's my second favorite QoT set of mine.

The first part of the show was GREAT. The second part was mid. You know what was consistent though? Lee sung min's acting and that's what made this edit - the awe and respect I felt for him and how he acted in this scene at the beach.

My thoughts about In-ah are basically:

Oh good she is on Hee-joo's side this time around. I like to hope that, after all the craziness is over, that she and Hee-joo can properly rebuild their sisterly relationship. It would be lovely for both of them. Also, where Hee-joo and Sa-eon parenting headcanons are concerned...In-ah as the fun aunt, anyone??

Maaaan, she really is the perfect example of the analogy 'cracking an egg with a sledgehammer' isn't she? I mean, with that filming scene (the one with the crabs) when she appeared the entire time I was thinking In-ah what are you DOINGGGGGG Mind you, I wonder if it's something like-now she finally has a voice, she just wants to shout. Because I mean, on the surface she was the 'favoured' sister, but that 'favour' was also pretty smothering and abusive in its own way. Especially as her parents clearly didn't bother to give her proper support for her deafness in childhood. So perhaps now she can speak for herself, and hear what's going on, she's overcompensating.

Currently obsessed with this series.

When the phone rings is an adaptation of a webtoon of the same name.

Might i tell you, the storyline is soo good, and has many different tropes, all up in one show, listing them would take a while..

My friends and I have have claimed the lead to be the Kiss Master of K drama. ( IYKYK)

8 Episodes in.. and its crazy. There are so many mysteries left to uncover and things we still don't know about. I truly have come to enjoy this genre of shows that keeps me on edge.

The thing about still not knowing who is the actual villain is so intriguing, I am literally suspecting so many characters for being the culprit. This week's cliff hanger only made it much more dubious.

Genuinely can't wait to watch the rest of the episodes...
