headcanon dump; jaxon haden

Jaxon has often being mistaken for being deaf just because he knows ASL, Jaxon doesnt care, and will ( if he’s not gone silent for a while ) inform the person he can hear… unless that person is talking shit about deaf people or anyone then he’ll keep his mouth shut before unleashing his anger on the person. There are things he’s seen and witnessed that he hates, like leaving out someone who is deaf/hard of hearing out of the conversation, telling them never mind… these piss off jaxon and he will always try to talk with the person to keep them in the conversation.

Only times Jaxon has played deaf is when it came to cops

jaxon get’s angry at people who get annoyed at others signing. it makes him so mad when people can’t just be patient with the language barrier. one time in a foster home, he found that one of the other kids was deaf, didn’t speak and used sign langue with their parents before… they lost their parents. but the foster parents didn’t know and expected the other child to speak to them and would get angry when they didn’t speak or tried to sign. jaxon obviously used asl with them, to not make them feel left out.

but… it got on his nerves too much, and he ended up punching the foster parents one time they did it and safe to say, he had to move foster homes.

jaxon, much like the rest of his siblings is a grumpy gus most of the time. he is pretty much a sterotypical ares kid when it comes to fighting & anger issues but he also does have a much calmer side to him ( as ares kids do fight me they all have their softness it’s just a matter of WHAT ). he does have a short temper.

jaxon will never loss his temper or get annoyed at anyone who is speaking or learning asl, he doesn’t care how slow or fast the speaker is, he will be patient and let them at their own pace.

he will control his anger around those younger then him

he has learnt to control his anger around those who fought for kronos because arguing with those who are on his side wouldn’t do much. this is why he can ‘tolerate’ nickolas. but when they first meet, they got into a LOT of fights. so yes, this means he probably gets into fights with those who fought for the gods because he still needs to learn to relax himself around them. but they do anger him more then those who he fought side by side

one thing that will always make him angry is guns

get jaxon around animals and this boy will go SOFT, he loves animals so much. you hurt an animal, and this kid is out for your head.

if you don’t think jaxon lied to his mother when he got in trouble, and interrupted the wrong thing. you’re wrong he did. he didn’t want to burden his mother with his troubles, but soon the teachers caught on, and brought someone else in to interpret for them.

to evade cops, jaxon would go silent and act like he can’t hear the cops asking him questions. he has even done this in a few foster homes.

jaxon is really great at giving the silent treatment because it doesn’t just extend to the person he’s giving it too, but everyone around him. it’s a sign he’s extremely pissed, and the only way you may get him to communicate with you would be via asl

asl is primarily what jaxon used in his home, and what he’d consider his first language. and spoken english as his second

jaxon has an above average body heat due to his thermokinesis

jaxon can not vanish a person…. not that he has tried this at all

jaxon knows asl because his mother, after an injury from her last tour, lost most of her hearing and she learnt asl, she still uses her voice at times. this was two years before she had jaxon, so jaxon grew up with the language.

jaxon would know he was in a lot of trouble when his mother would yell her frustrations about what he’s done

jaxon feeling a bit insecure about his extra powers? you fucking bet. does that stop him from using them? hell no

jaxon actually has no idea where some of the things he vanishes go. they just disappear, if it’s something he needs, it tends to return to where it belongs so he can find it again, but if it’s not his, or something he knows where it comes from - he isn’t sure where those go

jaxon helps mel out, and part of the reason mel manages to finally get their grip around asl as jaxon doesn’t switch out of asl to nzsl ( see below ), he helps them with it as they’ve being using asl since he was able to move his hands with control.
