20 Questions for Writers
Thank you for the tag @hoko-onchi-writes! Great way to spend a lazy Sunday morning :)
Username: magpie_fngrl
1. How many works do you have on A03? 54
2. What’s your total Ao3 word count? 392,045
3. What fandoms do you write for? I've mostly written drarry. I'd started as a pynch writer (TRC) and lately I've written a bunch in other fandoms.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos? all drarry:
dirtynumbangelboy
The Miseducation of Draco Malfoy
The Full Monty
Through the Looking Glass and What Draco Found There,
9 ½ Days
5. Do you respond to comments? I do my best. I made a decision back when I posted a lot of stuff and got more comments than I could handle that I would only reply to the comments on the last chapter of a multi-chapter fic. Other than that, I try my best to reply to everyone.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I wrote a Major Character Death fic (The Death You Carry). Can't get angstier than that.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Most of my fics end happy, but now that I think of it they're mostly HFN in romance-genre speak. Happy For Now aka the fic ends with them as a couple, kissing or touching for example, the Ever After is implied but not explicit. Two fics which end with H/D living together, and thus more committed to each other, are Hush, darling and The Boy Who Died. These are also angstier than my other fics, which makes the happy ending sweeter imo.
8. Do you get hate on fics? Not hate per se. I've received demanding comments ("Can you write more? Another sex scene? And make it mpreg?") or comments like "I like your story but I can't read on because you have X topping". Not hate. There was a time, though, that I got several comments about how stupid/annoying/an arsehole Harry is, which reflect an attitude I used to see in fandom, where Draco is perfect and Harry is a bumbling fool and the minute he says something sharp to Draco he becomes an arsehole and should be screamed at. Needless to say, I hate this kind of interpretation. I deleted a couple of these comments, I just couldn't have them on my page. It was the reason I de-activated comments on all my fics for some time.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? The sexy kind, I hope LOL
Serious answer: I have written explicit sex scenes, although I tend to be more vague rather than write a play-by-play description of what is happening. I mean, there is some of that, but not as detailed as it can be. I don't know how to explain it better in English, sorry. Anyhow, I love sex scenes, I love reading them, I enjoy the challenge of writing them, and I think what I like best in what I read (and thus I try to emulate) is when a sex scene reveals the emotional state of these two people rather than just say whose dick does what.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? I haven't! A couple of years ago I got a few asks about wangxian and drarry meeting up and although it was fun to reply to the asks and imagine how it would take place, I don't think I'll ever write it.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Someone screenshot dnab and posted it on instagram. The whole 40k fic. If there have been others, I don't know.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes, a few.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? I haven't and I'm not sure I could. I don't think my writing process would lead to successful collaborations. If I were to imagine it, the easiest for me would be that each writer has their own POV (I'd write Draco, the other person Harry, for instance) and we'd have a general idea but not a strict outline and we'd write it like a relay race: I'd post something, they'd write the next part, then me etc.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship? I tend to move on from fandoms, so it used to be pynch, then drarry, now wangxian. I don't have a lot of time for fandom these days so I'm not as obsessed with a ship as I used to be. I love all my babies equally.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I started a fic with a magical university of sorts, or rather 8th year but they'd be more like uni students than normal school students, and Draco was a Veela whose mate was Astoria. Not sure where it would all go, but well--it won't go anywhere now, because I have so many other WIPs that take precedent.
16. What are your writing strengths? I'm decent at dialogue and I've been told my fics have great atmosphere. Occasionally I write an unusual turn of phrase and people comment on that. My fics are fairly short, but I've been told that they have a lot more story than the reader expected because of the word count, and I think that's because I edit ruthlessly.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Plotting is my main problem. I pants my stories and it takes me forever to figure out what happens next. I also lack confidence and doubt everything while writing, which isn't a writing weakness exactly, but it does affect my writing.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? It's cool. I like it.
19. First fandom you wrote for? The Raven Cycle. I was mad about pynch.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written? Currently 9 ½ Days but I have a very, very soft spot for The Boy Who Died.
Tagging: @lettersbyelise @lucifergraced @coriesocks @wolfpants @julcheninred @nerdherderette @lqtraintracks if they wanna!

Fanfic asks! 3, 12, 25, 34, 36, 49, 57 (I realized I wanted to ask ALL of the questions, so feel free to answer only a couple of these if this is too much lol)
HEHE YAY THANK YOU FRIEND <3
3. Do you share your fic ideas, or do you keep them to yourself?
I am very much in the camp of "if I tell anyone about this story it'll think that it was already told and then die." So I have better luck not telling people about the fic ideas in detail until it is written out. I like for those to read it to have an authentic experience of seeing it for the first time without already knowing what's going to happen next, although I will sometimes drop hints :)
12. Do you outline your fics? If yes, how detailed are your outlines? How far do you stray from them?
I do prefer to outline my fics, but they're quite barebones to the point where I don't think someone on the outside, if they looked at it, would really know what I meant by them, but I do. I use singular or code words, and I sometimes stray! I had the habit of deleting outlines as I went, but since writing for Link Click have tried to keep them around just to look back and reminisce. Because once I write the outline, if I stray from it, I tend not to write that into the outline and just know it in my head, or I'll re-outline at the bottom of the doc. Here's an example of part of the outline of the first chapter of spinning silk and how bare bones it is:
25) What’s your favorite part of the writing process (worldbuilding, brainstorming/outlining, writing, editing, etc)?
The writing, the writing, the writing. Oh, I love the writing. I love seeing it all come together, I love finding words and connections and motifs that I wouldn't have while I was planning, because something about the writing process and being in the moment makes the synapses click. I love discovering the story for the first time, and then making it better. I love reaching those character moments and emotional catharses. Oh, I love it.
34) How much of your personal life/experience do you include in your fics?
I like to think that all writers draw from a real and deep well of their inner being when tey write the stories that mean most to them, whether it's happening-truth or story-truth. That is to say, sometimes I will draw from real life of what has externally happened to me--events, moments, places, anecdotes, etc. And then there's also the story-truth--maybe I didn't go through X thing as the character is, but the emotions that fueled how I wrote their reaction may have come from a real place, albeit in a different context. I think I always write with the latter. It's hard for me not to.
As for the former, yes, but I think in ways only I can tell. Not usually one for one, but if you notice a specific detail come up more than once across stories, it's possibly drawing from a significant memory. Also, I always think about how much my sister shows up in my writing. Basically every moment or story that is about love, she's there.
36) What fic are you proudest of?
courage of stars (Link Click), hands down. I think that's the hardest I ever worked on a fic, and I'm so, so grateful for the journey and the way it turned out. I'm really excited for people to keep reading it and I am so hoping you guys like it. It was the story that, when I first thought of it, I thought over and over to myself, Gosh, can I pull this off? Can I? My first time tackling mystery, as well as being able to write the kind of story I've so longed to write in my life as a writer. Tying to the previous question, I've always wanted to write a magic realism fic about a place and family history so dear and close to my heart. I always wanted to write a story that reflects love. Getting to do that with this fic has been such a blessing and a gift.
I'm also really proud of spinning silk (Link Click), greater love has no one than this (Trigun Stampede), here be dragons (1917), Lovable (Avatar: The Last Airbender), and May you bury me (Avengers). The thing about the latter fic is that it's incomplete, and I admit I can't make promises whether I will update it anytime soon. But man, that fic really fought its way through. But for all of these stories, they're multichapter fics (and we all know how hard it can be to finish or tackle those!) that I genuinely would pray and thank God like thank you for letting me have the joy of storytelling through these stories. Thank you for letting me partake in a reflection of the beauty of creation. I guess that's sappy but that's how these stories have kind of been set apart from the other fics I've written. Deep gratitude.
With that definition, also want to shout out Seven Pieces of Chalk, where the gratitude runs deep. I would say I’m proud of it but I don’t even think pride is the right word. I can’t believe it exists. I’m so grateful it does and that I got to help it do so. I’m still blown away by its effect. I don’t quite believe it was me, in a way. I was a teenybopper at the time after all.
49) What fic of yours would you say is the best introduction to you as a writer?
Gosh that's a great question. I don't know?? I've written fic probably for longer than some of my readers have been alive lol (I'm in my late twenties) so I feel like my writing has evolved throughout time. What introduces me today might not introduce me tomorrow or yesterday, you know? That being said, I kind of want to say Lovable (Avatar the Last Airbender). Just based on vibes.
57) How conscious are you about including symbolism or foreshadowing in your fics?
I'm honestly pretty conscious about it. That's why I get so excited when people in the comments mention what they notice, or a detail that is slipped into the narrative that, little do they know, is going to become important later. It makes me so very excited. Also, I love a good callback and bookend. That being said, I still have moments where a reader makes a clever connection I didn't notice!

3, 6 (I know but I'm curious about your thought process), 25
3. Describe the creative process of writing a chapter/fic
I don't experience a creative process so much as I am possessed by a hyperfixation (AI, cephalopods, Antarctica) and then go into a fugue state for 12 hours, after which I emerge bleary-eyed and starving, clutching a 12-page outline and stack of literary references. I read about things that interest me because it feels good, and then I talk to my friends about those things because it feels good, and then I write about those things because it feels good. It's all about the dopamine, baby.
6. Do you have your work beta'd? How important is this to your process?
Always, always, always. Not only is it an integral part of the dopamine-fulfillment system outlined above, it's crucial for me to know whether the points I'm trying to make are landing. Are my themes evident? Does my figurative language make sense? How's my blocking? How's my continuity? Look, I have ADHD, and with that comes tremendous generative powers, but it also comes with a deficit of fucking attention. I need someone to let me stand in their shoes and get perspective. That's what the beta is for.
25. Which fic do you wish you got more of a response on?
I guess it depends on what one means by "response". If I'm going to take the time to write something, it's because I feel compelled to say something. I'm happy with the response if there is evidence that I've been heard. I don't have a huge oeuvre because I'm a slow writer, but I feel pretty grateful that what I have produced has been well-received. I feel the most satisfaction when people take the time to leave comments letting me know they've picked up what I've laid down, that I've been heard---seen.
I suppose that these days I'm always redirecting people to Wave Hello to the Void, the long-fic I wrote with my friends @zacharybosch and @eefaevie, not only because I am tremendously proud of it, but because it is so much more than what is on the tin (cryptid AU) and I want people to give it a chance when they might otherwise.

Advice from a fellow Fanfic writer:
Writing fanfiction is awesome because it gives us the freedom to continue stories we weren’t ready to end, see characters in a new/different environment, create the romances we wish had been canon, and so on and so forth.
But going into writing your first fic, especially if you are a young writer, can seem pretty overwhelming because you want it to come out amazing. I was once in your place where I had no idea how to go about creating this story that I’ve had stuck in my head. Now, it’s been 12 years since I wrote my first fanfic. That by no means makes me an expect nor a perfect writer, but I’ve learned some things along the way that I want to share because I wish I’d had these tips when I first started out.
Whether you find this helpful is up to you and what you do with it is up to you. Scroll past this for all I care, but I want to put this out there in case no one else has. I’ve also thrown in a little fanfic etiquette for those that are new to fanfiction.
Don’t let anyone else control your story unless YOU want their advice. This is your story and you have the right to make it turn out the way YOU want it to
Always carry something with you (a notebook or the notes app on your phone) to jot down any ideas that come to you. Trust me - you won’t remember them like you think you will
Write detailed notes about your characters (physical description, personality traits, past experiences, likes/dislikes, hobbies, clothing preferences, etc.). These notes will come in handy later on when you’re wanting to throw in personal touches that make your characters seem more realistic
That being said, you don’t need to add a character profile to your story unless YOU want to. Just because it’s helpful to your writing process doesn’t mean it has to become a part of the story
MAJOR PLOT POINTS!!! Keep track of them, even if they’ve already happened. The last thing you want to do is contradict something that has already happened or write yourself into a corner when you’ve strayed away from the original purpose of the story
Write what you feel inspiration to write, no matter how far away that part of the story is. It’s easier to bridge gaps than write in chronological order. It will save you a lot of time down the road
Writer’s block is real!!! And if you are feeling stuck on a certain part, skip it and come back later. I live by the bridge the gap theory
RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH!!! Accuracy and little specific details about a certain something can turn a good story into a great story. It will also keep out those know-it-all commenters that want to correct you
Also, don’t be a know-it-all commenter. No body likes you, I hate to say it. You might think you’re helping but all you’re doing is making a hard working writer feel shitty. Not everyone is well informed on a subject and not everyone wants to put in the time/energy to become well informed. It’s just a fanfic. Get over it
If you don’t want to do research on something before you start writing, that’s okay, too. Whatever details you add to your story are up to you
Your characters don’t have to be realistic for them to be good characters. That’s the beauty of fictional writing - it can be as out there and far from reality as you want it to be
Naming your chapters isn’t important or a necessity but it’s a fun addition that can give your readers a little insight into what that chapter might be about
OUTLINES!!! Writing brief descriptions of what you want to happen can make the writing process go much faster and helps you keep track of where you want the story to go when that nasty writer’s block hits
Reference photos are GREAT for when you have an idea in your head but struggle putting that into writing. It can also make a story more interactive and fun for the reader
If you used a reference photo to help you write something, there is no pressure for you to post that. Nobody needs to know the tools you use in your writing or where an idea for the way something looks comes from
Not every fanfic needs to be a chaptered fic. One-shots can be amazing, too. It’s also okay to have a story start out as a one-shot and turn into a chaptered fic later on
Don’t feel pressured to write any sequels/prequels for a one-shot that got a lot of love. It’s okay to let that story live on as a one-shot. Same goes with a chaptered fic. If you liked how your story ended, you don’t have to continue it just because your readers can’t accept that it’s over
Writing a fanfic is not your job and you owe NOBODY your time. Write when you feel motivated. Don’t let it take up every second of every day unless that makes YOU happy. Burnout is real and a lot of good fanfics go unfinished because of it
If you feel burnt out, take a break, no matter how long that might be. Writing should be fun, not feel like a job on top of everything else in life. And don’t let anyone make you feel guilty for taking a break or quitting altogether. You don’t owe anyone an explanation
It’s OKAY to give up, if it stops being something you enjoy. Writing is meant to bring joy and creativity to your life. Don’t let anybody guilt you into doing something that doesn’t bring you joy anymore
It’s OKAY to give up on a story if you don’t know what to do with it anymore. Not every story you start is going to find that perfect ending. Don’t punish yourself because you feel you owe it to your readers
It’s OKAY to take down a story you no longer feel proud of. It’s your account and it’s your story. What you do with it is YOUR choice
It’s OKAY to leave up stories you don’t feel very proud of because they are proof of your growth. No one should expect perfection from every story you write
It’s OKAY to revise a story you’ve already posted because you weren’t happy with the original. The beautiful thing about digital writing and publishing is that you can delete and edit anything at any time. There is no commitment
It’s OKAY to have those stories you never post online or to even never post anything. Writing should be done for YOUR enjoyment first and for others second. If you don’t feel comfortable sharing that with everyone, that is perfectly acceptable
Not every story you post is going to be a big hit. As long as YOU like it, that is all that matters. Getting a bunch of likes, comments, and subscribers is just a bonus. Don’t beat yourself up because your story isn’t as popular as others
It’s OKAY to celebrate milestones for your story. If your story hits a certain number of likes, subscribers, word count, whatever it may be that you are proud of, share that because you DESERVE to be proud of the hard work you’ve put in
Word count is meaningless. Don’t feel self conscious because of your stories word count. How long or how short a story is doesn’t make it good. It’s the content that makes it good
If you are writing a fanfic for something specific (tv show, book, anime, manga, comic, you name it), don’t feel pressured to include every character/person/animal from that source material. You can include whoever you want because it’s YOUR story
Use your characters however you wish. No one has a right to shame you for how you use your characters. This is a fictional universe that you are creating and you have the right to make it turn out the way YOU want it to
You don’t have to have a Beta (someone who revises your story for you) if you don’t want to have a Beta. If you don’t feel comfortable having someone else doing your editing, that is completely acceptable. Some people prefer to edit themselves and that’s OKAY
Using a Beta doesn’t make you lazy or incompetent. Some people need that extra hand in their writing or don’t have the time/energy to edit, and that’s OKAY
If you have a Beta, it’s OKAY to decline any changes they suggest. In the end, it is YOUR story, not theirs
If you are doing your own editing/revising, I suggest using an editing program like Grammarly. You can reread the same thing a dozen times and still miss those silly mistakes. Programs like Grammarly are also great for non-native English speaking writers because it’ll pick up on those mistakes you didn’t know were mistakes. It will also come up with better ways to word a sentence, improper uses of punctuation, repetitive word usage, and so much more, and the great thing is that YOU get to control the changes it makes
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS turn on the setting that doesn’t let people select the text. There are some people out there who will steal your story and repost it as their own. There might not be any money coming from posting a story online, but no one should get credit for your hard work and creativity but YOU
If you use an idea or other source material to help you write GIVE CREDIT FOR IT!!!
Don’t leave comments begging someone to update. It never has the effect on the writer that you think it does. Positive comments about the story, like sharing how something made you feel, are so much more motivating than constant pestering
Don’t leave comments bashing a writer’s story, writing style, etc. That’s not constructive criticism. That’s just hateful
Don’t leave any constructive criticism unless the author has ASKED for it. Not everyone appreciates getting unsolicited advice
If you liked a story, SHOW IT IN SOME WAY!!! If this writer has put themself out there to share their writing with the world, and you LIKED IT, they deserve to hear your praise. It’s the only sort of reward that they are getting from something you are reading FOR FREE
If a story ends, it’s okay to be sad about it but don’t pressure someone into writing more because you can’t accept that it’s over. Thank them for their hard work and dedication
If a writer wants their readers to be involved in the story, BE INVOLVED. They are asking for your opinion for a reason and it is so disheartening when they get no responses in return
If your input was asked for and not taken in the end, don’t bash a writer because of that. It’s THEIR story, not yours, and they have the right to make it turn out how THEY want it to. Be grateful that they even asked for your opinion in the first place
If your story has sensitive topics or mature content, add warnings. PLEASE!!! Most fanfic websites have a protocol for stuff like that, but even then, it can’t always properly prepare a reader. Be aware that some of these topics are sensitive to readers, and while it might not be necessarily BAD to write about them, nobody deserves to be unexpectedly triggered. We all want to have a good time - be kind to your fellow readers/writers
That being said, be cautious about what you choose to write. You never know what someone else might take pleasure from. You might write something that is meant to create this heart wrenching, tear jerker of a story that someone else is finding enjoyable and pleasurable. That’s not on you as a writer that they felt that way, but I want you to be aware that there are sick and twisted people out there
Yet, also don’t feel restricted by those people and feel as if you can’t write about something like that because you’re afraid of the wrong hands getting a hold of it, especially if your story deals with how these sensitive topics can affect someone. Some of the darkest writing is also the realist writing, and people who have been through these dark things can sometimes feel seen and heard when they are shown in formats like this. It’s that relatable aspect of a character that makes us fall in love with them and their story
At the end of the day, remember that this is YOUR story, YOUR hobby, and NOBODY has control over it but you. No one is entitled to your hard work, time, and energy. Do what makes YOU happy first
That’s all the advice I can think of to give. I hope it was helpful in some way.

20 questions for fic writers
I was tagged by @cha-melodius, thank you! <3<3
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
439! The plan is posting two more tonight so hopefull that will soon be 441 LOL.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
939,623! Almost a million yay!
3. What fandoms do you write for?
At the moment mostly TMFU, I have been getting into writing Banana Fish fic too, and I write for The Witcher, though less frequently than TMFU.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Stretch (Buck/Eddie+Christopher, 911, 3x02 AU)
Everywhere I'm looking now, I'm surrounded by your embrace (Harvey/Mike, Suits, soulmates AU)
I held your hand as you shook in the middle of the night (Geralt/Jaskier, The Witcher, 1x06 fix-it)
Leave it unspoken (Harvey/Mike, Suits, a serial killer on the loose AU looool I had forgotten about this one)
Concession (Geralt/Jaskier, The Witcher, Geralt likes being the little spoon fic)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yesssss, I'm like constantly behind and sometimes I answer months late, but I love answering because 1) comments make me so happy and I want the readers who took the time to let me know they enjoyed the fic to KNOW THAT, 2) talking about fics is SO much fun, I think that discussing things in the comments is the best part of posting.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
LOOOOOOOOOOOL filter for MCD on my Ao3 and take your pick. But I'd go with either Forever is the sweetest con (Napoleon/Illya/Gaby, TMFU) because the story is told backwards, so you start with post-MCD and end pre-MCD, so the ending is happy but. well. the happiness is gone already and you know it LOL, or maybe Meaner than my demons, colder than this home (Napoleon/Illya/Gaby, TMFU), purely because generally speaking when I play with MCD I kill just one of them off and leave the other two to pick up the pieces, but here there's just Napoleon left, so. probably worse than the others LOL.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Sooo, I tend to write one-shots, and I HAVE written fluffy fics, but I think I'll go with Something gets lost from a safe distance (Napoleon/Illya, TMFU) because it's part of a three-part series that's all emotional hurt/comfort, and then it ends with fluffy kissing so.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Eh, it has happened, I think it's inevitable if you have been doing this for long enough LOL.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Nope.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Not usually, I did write a TMFU/Supernatural crossover though LOL.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I’m aware of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yesss, more than once and it's always extremely flattering that someone would want to go through all that effort <3
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Right now I feel particularly strongly about the TMFU OT3 but like. I love so many.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I HAVE MULTIPLE LONGFICS SITTING IN MY DRAFTS DAMMIT. I just never want to post longfics unless I have either a first draft for every chapter or at the very least an extremely detailed outline for every chapter, which means that I end up always posting one-shots LOL. Two notable mentions among these longfics are a "Napoleon gets amnesia and bullshits his way through it to avoid telling anyone because he has trust issues" fic and an AU with Illya as a ghost that's a whole angsty mess. help me.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Eeeeeeeh the emotions I'd say. Or I HOPE so, since that's pretty much 80% of my writing loooool Also there a lot of lines of dialogue that I come up with that I unironically like.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Plots for one, I just tend to write snapshots with no real plot most of the time, and action. I don't LIKE writing it, which means I can never tell if it's boring or if I'm just projecting, and I tend to avoid it. ...also romance/attraction/getting-together. My aroace ass never knows what is believable romance and what are just tv show tropes that are not actually real LOL.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I generally don't do it and keep to the language of the narration, just clarifying "X says in German" if there's a change of language. I write limited third POV, so I just see it as "filtering" everything through the lens of the person that we are seeing the perspective of. If I'm writing from Gaby's POV, for instance (she's German but fluent in English), I feel like TECHNICALLY the narration should be in German, so by writing in English I have already chosen a filter that is not 100% accurate. But that's the filter I'm going with, so English is the language that Gaby is communicating to the reader in, so everything should be communicated through English lens: if she's talking to someone in English, I will just write the lines with no specifications, if she's talking in German I still write in English and write "in German" in the narration, and if someone speaks a language she doesn't know I don't write the actual dialogue because she doesn't understand it, so the reader doesn't get to see it either.
I hope this makes some sort of sense LOOOOOL, I don't really mind any way I've seen this done, but this is how I prefer to go about it.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
The Fallen book series. LOL.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
Evil question, go directly to jail, do not collect 100$. This answer will absolutely change every five minutes, but right now I'm particularly feeling Souvenir from a life left behind (Napoleon/Illya, TMFU), just a tiny dissolution of UNCLE fic with Napoleon angsting.

20 Questions for Fic Writers Game
Tagged by our gorgeous, real life Doc, @romirola ily~! Thank you so much for the tag, lovey; this was so fun!
Tagging @bratty-telepath @ejunkiet @k9rage and @caelumsnuff and anyone else who'd like to join!
1 - How many works do you have on AO3?
Fifty, apparently! Thirty-one of those is entirely Redacted-tober though lol
2 - What's your total AO3 word count?
45,673- five words off from a silly number hehe
3 - What fandoms do you write for?
Just RedactedAudio at the moment though I've been meaning to start writing some for Castleaudios!
4 - What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1. Let’s get mischievous (and polyamorous) 2. fill my heart with song (and let me sing) 3. I won't cross these streets (until you hold my hand) 4. I had good intentions (and the highest hopes) 5. Baby, baby, baby (you're gonna set me on fire)
5 - Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do! I'm not gonna lie- sometimes it can take days, even weeks, as I respond to comments in big batches, but I get to them eventually!
6 - What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
"cuddles (yet somehow still you disappear)"! Heehee, I finished this and immediately went to the Discord girlies (gn) like "hey babes I just did something mean~
7 -What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Hmmm, that's the majority of my fics, I'd say, but probably "bed (the brightest colors fill my head)"? It made me the happiest, at least~
8 - Do you get hate on fics?
Mmmm, depending on how you define "hate", then maybe? I've gotten comments that were not constructive or kind.
9 - Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes with an asterisk. Smut is so difficult for me to write, so when I do, it takes fuckin forever. I definitely have a penchant for the kinkier kind, since the two smuts I've written feature bondage and consensual non-consent respectively.
10 - Do you write crossovers?
Another yes with an asterisk? Claire of Castleaudios fame is a character in "teenagers (scare the livin' shit out of me)" if that counts!
11 - Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of, knock on wood!
12 - Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, but gosh, that'd be cool!
13 - Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not yet, but Veau and Lexi and I have thrown around ideas!
14 - What's your all time favorite ship?
-siiiiigh- You know what it is. You know it's Alexis/Christian. I am going down with the ship, typing away at my laptop on the deck of the Titanic.
15 - What's a WIP that you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
fucking all of them but especially my planned, multi-chapter fics- I get hung up on the outlining.
16 - What are your writing strengths?
-fights the temptation to say nothing- Umm, I'm pretty proud of my dialogue actually. I have a fair experience in script-writing, so I think I've got a good grasp of realistic sounding dialogue that is in the voice of the character.
17 - What are your writing weaknesses?
Smut, angst, and actually finishing what I start lol
18 - Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
If I were knowledgable in that language or had a reliable beta who was, then sure!
19 - First fandom you wrote for?
Ummm... shit, was it Rise of the Guardians? It might have been, fuck... My self insert Cupid is flitting around somewhere on Fanfiction.net, smooching Jack Frost... and I didn't finish that multi-chapter fic either.
20 - Favorite fic you've written?
Hmm, that's hard to answer. I'm not super proud of it, but I think my favorite still has to be "Meet me on your best behavior (Meet me at your worst)". It's so OOC for Alexis now that we've canonically met her, but I adore the way I explore not just Christian with Alexis but also Christian with the pack.

I will answer your ask here shortly! But I didn't want you to think I forgot to ask you ✌️❤️😘
[Send my Writer Asks] TY for so many number!! <3
2. talk about a notable time a narrative or character has looked you dead in the eyes and said “fuck your plan, here’s what we’re actually doing.”
Basically any and every fic with JJ in it is this exact thing. JJ is notorious for going off-script and just doing whatever the hell she wants. I have had to re-write entire fic outlines bc of this. She's a nuisance (affectionate).
4. what is the plot bunny you’ve been carrying for the longest? optional bonus question: do you ever wonder why you haven’t written it yet and experience deep existential dread?
I often look at the 4 chapters I wrote for an early season CM fic that's sorta like 'You've Got Mail' (it's a 2006 online dating fic) and lament that I've never finished it. I even *know* the reason why too, it's simply because the coding to do entire chapters in 'e-mail' form on AO3 would require me to build custom skins to make it look like emails and such (yea, I know I don't HAVE to make it look like that, but my brain says You Gotta) and god, I just really hate coding.
5. have you ever made a playlist about something you were writing as an elaborate means to procrastinate when you could have been actually writing and if yes drop a link, son
I currently have over *30* CM character/fanfic related playlists. You should check out this masterlist for all the links plus summaries of each playlist, or just give me a follow on Spotify
12. do you ever have trouble focusing on writing? how do you get around that?
Sorry, what? I missed the question because I was staring out the window and procrastinating again. The answer -- YES, of course I do. I'm AudHD and I live in a house with three other people, a cat who's an asshole, and on a street where multiple houses are being built. 😭 I try my best to be at my desk at regular hours each week, usually about 10am-4pm M-F. And I close any windows/apps on my laptop that aren't my writing one and put my phone out of reach. Then I set the focus timer on for a designated time and try to write until it goes off. This helps TONS.
13. talk about a writing experience that has pleasantly surprised you.
When I wrote what was supposed to be a Emily/Rebecca hate-sex one-shot, I didn't think anyone would read it. Then, when I expanded it into what became 'Do What I Want (Over What's Right)' I was absolutely blown away by the great convos I had with readers in each chapter's comment section. I even met a new best buddy via that fic! (hiiii @swpf)
30. most inspirational quote you’ve ever read or heard that’s still important to you.
"We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love." - Dr Seuss
32. do characters influence your writing style?
Can do, sometimes. My style itself doesn't change all that much, I don't think? I mean, I can look at old fics and see how far I've come since first writing them, but that's less about the characters themself and more about me as a weird little guy.
38. how many stories do you work on at one time?
One. As mentioned above, I'm far too distractable to have multiple-WIP at one time. The exception to this rule is, sometimes, I'll crank out a one-shot while working on a longer project too. But 99% of the time, I only have one WIP going.
47. what story are you most proud of?
Forever and ever, Head Full of Doubt (Jemily, High School AU). That fic explores mental health, friendship, depression, and the pressures of being a teenager. It is my forever proudest achievement as a writer.
57. what is the last thing that a fic made you google when you were reading it?
While reading? Hm, this is gonna sound so petty, but I recently pulled up the fandom wiki to double check a continuity point in a fic. Not because I was judging the author, more because my brain was trying to figure out the timeline they were presenting.
69. how do you write emotional scenes? do you ever feel what the characters feel?
I have such a visceral imagination. I not only see my characters, but I definitely also feel their feels too as part of getting into their heads. When I write emotional scenes, I am usually sobbing myself. On the flip side, my partner knows when I'm writing smut bc my breath gets all soft and short 🫠
83. less is more or more is more?
Do whatever you want forever. Period. No rules, just do you!
84. said: overused or underused?
Again, do whatever you want forever. I use said/replied lots, but I also use more specific indicators to get tone across depending on the conversation and scene.

For the writers ask meme: 2, 4, and 7?
OOOOH, these are good ones!! Thank you so much for sending them in!!
2 - talk about a notable time a narrative or character has looked you dead in the eyes and said “fuck your plan, here’s what we’re actually doing.”
So. So. So many times. Hmm, since a lot of people are reading Weapon by Name right now, I’ll say that Kurt’s identity was supposed to start solidifying after the first Rogue interaction! For reference, that would have put Logan learning Kurt’s name in chapter 12, which at the time was chapter 9 because there were a few chapters I ended up adding before it. I started writing the name scene and I literally felt Kurt turn to me, shaking, and said in a tiny little voice “I’m not ready for that”. That was the moment that I really realized this story was going to be a slowburn, and that I was too far in to escape.
4 - what is the plot bunny you’ve been carrying for the longest? optional bonus question: do you ever wonder why you haven’t written it yet and experience deep existential dread?
OH MAN, I’ve been dying to write this one for about five years!! It’s a Medieval Marvel AU with the OG Avengers as the main cast and Clint Barton as the focus character. It follows a similar vibe to Narnia; the world has been cursed into eternal winter for the last hundred years by the Frost King (Loki) and there is a prophecy that his reign will end when five warriors from the time of his invasion return. Clint basically decides that the prophecy is stupid and they need to stop waiting around for these “Avengers” and decides to go punch Loki in the face himself. The story then follows him running into Natasha, who leads him to Tony, who leads him to Thor, etc, until Clint realizes that these guys ARE the prophesied warriors, and they were cursed with immortality until they defeat Loki but have fallen apart over the last hundred years. It has themes of destiny versus drive, grief/loss, moving forward, immortality being awful, etc. For now it’s titled “Hello My Old Heart” after the song by The Oh Hellos, but the title might change; the chapter titles would be after lines from the song “Dead Wormwood” though. There’s particularly important story beats with the repeating theme of “I know who you are now”, and I listen to the song at least weekly thinking about this fic.
Honestly, I’m not sure why I haven’t written it. I love the story and I’ve had it outlined for at least four years now… maybe part of it is the fear that no one will read it right now, since the OG Avengers era has somewhat passed. But at the same time I want to read this fic, which means I need to write it, which means… I need time, lol 😂
7 - tell us about the plot of the first fanfic you ever wrote
Hmmm, I’m trying to remember… I’ve been writing fanfic for a long, LONG time, but I think the first big one I remember working on was one called “Re-Tournament” that I wrote when I was 10! It was a self-insert Ninjago OC story that I actually wrote with my brother; we each wrote our own “book” following the same story, so we had two different copies each from our OC’s POVs. I don’t even remember our characters’ names at this point (mine might have had moon powers?) but I have a few very distinct memories of laying on my parent’s floor with him after we moved into our new house, two binders full of notebook paper spread between us, our pencils racing as we copied down lines from the show between our own original scenes. It was a season 4 fanfic so honestly 70% of what we wrote was just directly copying canon scenes, but it was still an absolute blast and I think we got a good couple chapters in!! Definitely a fun memory!
Thank you so much for sending these in!!

Oooh, I have questions! The first is that I predict things are going to go downhill fast, how accurate would this be? Second; do you know how many chapters the fic will have? Third; any plans/ideas for a potential sequel? (you don't have to answer them all!)
Gotta keep everyone guessing 😈🙃. Things will improve for a bit, then go downhill fast. Several characters will need a hospital. Hmmm or a casket.
I’m halfway done with rewriting 7.5. This was one of the chapters I’ve wanted to rewrite for YEARS because it’s actually more important to the story’s plot and themes than people think. But my writing wasn’t as good back then as it is today and when I wrote the first version I was in a rush.
So freaking finally, years later im making the necessary edits and incorporating it into the narrative. Now that I think about it, I think many people reading the new version will feel as if they’re reading a new chapter. (kinda. A bit)
Chapter 12’s outline is already done, but still needs plenty of editing, fleshing out and, you know, conversations. Does anyone have any theories where Choo-Choo is?
With how the story’s going, I’d say that the story can’t end before chapter 14..so if it does end at 14 that makes the story 15 chapters in total. But it might end up longer. I mean CGaL was originally going to be 10 chapters but as you know that was impossible.
So far there’s no plan for a sequel I’m just concerned with finishing this story because its delay is driving me nuts 😂

5, 9, and 13!
Hi Sarah! Thanks for the ask!
5. What’s a fic idea you’ve had that you will never write?
Oh gosh, there are so, so, so many. I think the number one idea that still crosses my mind is Miles Villa. I mean, never say never, but I don't know those characters as well as I do the later seasons nowadays.
9. Do you write every day? If you wrote today, share a sentence of what you’ve written!
It's not Hamish, but it's from OTM's chapter 12:
Another wail rings through the Villa, which now causes Marshall to growl. “Whoever is crying, can you keep it to yourself? Some of us are trying to sleep,” he mumbles as he pulls the pillow over the top of his head. “It’s hard enough getting some shut eye when Amelia is your partner. I’ve never heard someone snore as loudly as she does– and I shared a room with Oz until year 10!”
13. How much planning do you do before writing?
I've come to the conclusion that I'm a pantser. I hardly plan anything, I just make note of what's happened so I can look back and be consistent. Usually I'll try to outline once I know I'm going to stick with it, I can't be too exact though. I wrote out an entire Tom Villa start to finish then my mind went: 'Oh look the whole thing is written, all done'. Never wrote it - but the outline looks good?

How about 3, 19, 24? 👀
THANKS FOR ASKING, FRIEND!! 🎉💖
3. favorite line/scene you wrote this year
Chapter 12 of Bookbinder//Songwriter is actually one of my favorite things I tackled this year - Unconditionally. Does that count? The whole theme of the chapter is to be true to yourself, and not change for the sake of a good impression (we also get the meet cute for Bilbo and Thorin which is a bonus) To be more specific, I really loved the scene between Belladonna and Thorin. She's the parent that Thorin hasn't had in his life for a little bit, now. ----- Belladonna remained quiet, simply listening and letting Thorin get whatever was on his mind out. “I am lucky for my sister and her kids, and for my bandmates, but…too many people leave. Whether by choice or by force, and I don’t think I could handle Bilbo being another scar on my heart that won’t heal because I wasn’t enough.” Just as Thorin had never been enough for Thranduil, or his grandfather, and unfortunately a good portion of those who had been on his side had been taken from him. “He deserves better.” There it was. The long buried fear that had been festering slowly over time, and now plucked to the surface by a few triggering words of some snotty individuals that Thorin didn’t even know. “When we find our perfect person, we love them unconditionally. We fight through the tough times and celebrate the victories together.” Belladonna sighed lovingly, gently guiding Thorin to face her rather than stare angrily at his car. “Whether you make it big or change course, he wants to be there by your side with no objections; Bilbo loves you unconditionally.” Just as Belladonna had loved Bungo.
19. any new fics to start next year
I have three fics on my reveal list for 2024!! And if I do well with that, then I'll throw out some more that have been collecting dust on my plot bunny list. For sure, though, you'll see these three multi-chapter stories in 2024... Golden Hearts Bleed Faster (Modern Bodyguard AU) Led Only By The Stars (Sci-Fi AU) With Good Intentions (Modern Demon/Monster Hunter AU) I have a few on the outline list very soon too, so let's hope I'm productive (also if anyone wants to ask me about any of these 👀)
24. favorite fic you read this year
I keep saying I'm a slow reader, so I didn't read as much as I would have liked, however, one that I adore to bits and pieces (even before it was ended as Bagginshield fic, which says A LOT about how good it is!) is (S)wiped Out) by @i-did-not-mean-to The Bagginshield ending is just the cherry on top for me, and everything I hoped for!
-> fanfic end of year asks

I was tagged by @gwenllian-in-the-abbey, thank you so much for the tag! (and sorry that it has taken me forever to do this)
How many works do you have on AO3?
Three currently (I’ve written more for other fandoms but I orphaned those years ago)
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
55,643
3. What fandoms do you write for?
I only post for Realm of the Elderlings, but I also sometimes write Kingdom Hearts fics purely for myself
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Uhh, I only have three on my current account, but in order, Someone Other Than Us, After The Sun Has Set and then Ever Your Fool.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes, or at least I try to! I have a bad habit of thinking my response but never actually writing it down and then forgetting about it completely... But I try my best to remember to reply, even if it ends up taking a while.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Neither of my finished fics/oneshots have closed endings, so I guess it depends on what you imagine happens afterwards. Neither of them are exactly happy though.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I haven’t finished posting it yet, but it shouldn’t come as a surprise that After The Sun Has Set will soon take that title. I mean, it's already happier than anything else that I've written
8. Do you get hate on fics?
No
9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?
I do, occasionally. I don’t know exactly how to describe what kind, other than that my smut scenes tend to be quite sad?? I like using them as a way to explore or exaggerate some complicated character dynamic, and I guess that’s why they often turn into something at least a little uncomfortable. As much as I enjoy reading smut that’s all sexy and romantic, for some reason I can’t write it myself at all haha
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Nah
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
No
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope
13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Nope
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
Fitzloved is my current favourite (and I've never been this intense about a ship before), though Zemyx (from Kingdom Hearts) is the one I always eventually return to
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Last spring I wrote about 45k words of post-Assassin’s Fate happy ending AU. The outline for it is massive, and what I’ve written so far covers maybe one tenth at most. I know I will never have the patience to finish it, but somewhere at the back of my mind I refuse to let it go. I’ve been trying to see if I could turn parts of it into one-shots or something, but who knows what I’ll end up doing 🤷
16. What are your writing strengths?
I’d say I’m fairly good at characterization, as well as building up tragic and angsty scenarios. My favorite thing when writing fanfiction is to take some (usually sad) aspect of a character/relationship/etc and then dive deep into that, and I think I do it pretty well.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
My prose, especially detailed descriptions and creative similes and metaphors and the like. Writing those does not come naturally to me at all, and I feel like I often get stuck using cliches and specific words or phrases, and then have to spend half my time editing to make things less repetitive.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Not my thing, I prefer to keep everything in one language.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter, I think? Way back in like 2008 or 2009.
20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written?
From RotE stuff, After the Sun Has Set. It’s the first time I’ve managed to fully write, edit and post a multi-chapter fic from start to finish, and that alone is a huge achievement for me. Writing every chapter from a different character’s PoV was also a really fun (if sometimes frustrating) challenge and I’m really glad to have done it. Outside of RotE, a few years back I wrote this super self-indulgent novel-length Zemyx fic. I never posted it anywhere and it’s kind of crap quality-wise so I never will, but since it’s basically just every romance trope I’ve ever liked, it’s fun to reread for comfort every once in a while.
#tag game#not going to tag anyone bc im so late to this and cant remember at all which of my mutuals have already done it

10.) Do you write cross overs? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
oh boy. I used to. my very first famous fanfic was called fragile world. used to post it on Instagram and wattpad. it included *clears throat* shadowhunters, glee, 13 reasons why, skam, eyewitness 🧍🏻♀️ but in my defense I was, what, 12-13? I have CHANGED.
11.) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
yeaa it was kiss in the kitchen. someone reposted it on wattpad without my permission and gabby found it and told me. they did take it down after I told them to tho.

13.) Have you ever cowritten a fic before?

17.) What are your writing weaknesses?
DESCRIPTIONS. god I HATE describing things. I'd rather die than describe anything.
18.) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I mean, I don't think I'll succeed (unless it's in georgian which is my native language) and considering that I mess up english sometimes, maybe it's for the best if I just stick to one language 😭😭

Twenty Questions for Fic Writers
Thanks for thinking of me @yoellglia ! I had fun reading your answers and even more so trying to answer myself :)
1. How many works do you have on A03?
Jeez, should I consider both of my accounts? Let's do it, why not.
I have 12 fics in total. 7 for Tennis RPF and 5 for the DC Universe.
2. What's your total A03 word count?
37,211 words combined. Ngl, I thought it would be less than that as there are only two multi-chaptered fics and the rest are one-shots. Hopefully, I'll add some more words in the upcoming months :)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently, I only write Tennis RPF. I've been toying with a few ideas for the Good Omens fandom, but I haven't opened a new doc yet. And I used to write for the DC Universe, but I haven't done that in ages.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
(I’m gonna keep this Tennis RPF only bc this blog is tennis themed)
Waking in the Night Light: Fedal share their first kiss in a parking lot.
A New Target: Fedal have sex in the locker room.
Moonlight in Paris: Rafa goes to Roger's hotel room.
Strawberry & Dulce de Leche: Roger and Rafa get ice cream.
Somewhere or Other: Fedal phone call.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes yes yes! At least I try to. Although more often than not I get the notification, reply in my head, then forget to actually write back, and I'm too embarrassed to answer if more than a week has gone by… so apologies for that. That doesn't mean I don’t appreciate every single comment I have ever gotten, they always make my day in fact.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Mmh… perhaps Moonlight in Paris. It's not angst per se but it does have an overall sense of uncertainty.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Strawberry & Dulce de Leche, definitely. Rafa's joy at the possibility of Roger going to his birthday party is everything.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
No, thankfully. I’m glad I haven't unlocked that side of fandom yet.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do, but I consider myself a newbie at it (smut writers, pls teach me your ways).
Generally speaking, I prefer it when smut has a little plot. It doesn't have to be anything complicated or serious, I just need a bit of a story behind what's happening for it to feel more organic. I also like it when the focus is on the emotional aspect of it, though descriptive can be nice as well. And I don't mind wordy smut as longs as it doesn't mess with the flow.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Nope, and I'm not a big fan of those tbh
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Story time! Yes 💀 Although it wasn't the whole thing, just a fragment. The fic in question was None but the Lonely Heart for the DCEU. And I only found out bc a lovely person left a comment on my fic, letting me know what had happened and the link to the other fic. I checked and the writer had indeed literally copied and pasted one of my scenes, they'd just changed the names of the characters. So I reached out to the AO3 team and they took care of everything.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No. Stef and I had an idea for a Fedal fic, but who knows if we'll ever get to actually write it lol
14. What's your all time favourite ship?
I don't think I have one, really. I would say my main ones/the ones I keep coming back to are Fedal (Roger Federer/Rafael Nadal) and Superbat (Superman/Batman). Though right now I've been reading almost exclusively Ineffable Husbands (Aziraphale/Crowley), so it mostly depends on my hyperfixation at the time
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Oof, that might be a Superbat (long) fic set post BvS, where resurrected Clark has lost his powers (and the sun seems to actually make him sick now), so Bruce helps him to get back on his feet and of course they fall in love in the process. I have the whole thing outlined, sheets of dialogues and a couple of scenes already fleshed out, but I took a break from the fandom bc it was draining me out. Idk, maybe one day I'll get back to it. I mean, never say never and all that, but it's looking highly improbable right now
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I'm good at setting the tone of scenes, be it fluffy, angsty, whatever.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I tend to write in long, long sentences. Seriously, you should see my drafts, sometimes a whole paragraph can be a single sentence. I don't know if it's due to my Spanish hard-wired brain or what, but I’m working on breaking things up a bit more.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I love it! But you need to make sure readers will still get the message through context, so I think it's best to stick to single words and/or common phrases. Unless, of course, you want to leave your character (and thus your readers) feeling confused.
I do it often when I’m writing Rafa and it's part of the reason I love writing him so much.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
DC Universe
20. Favourite fic you've written?
Tough question… can I say an unpublished one? I have this sort of introspection/character study of Domi, his struggles coming back on tour after the wrist injury and dealing with all the ups and downs. There's not a story to it per se, like I'm not trying to get him from A to B. It's just a dive into his mind, where it gets kinda dark real quick, and it's unlike what I usually go for in tennis fics (fluff), so I've been enjoying the challenge of getting out of my comfort zone there

Fic writer questions
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
98
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
301,713
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Witcher, Loki, Stranger Things, Our Flag Means Death and Midnight Mass.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Praying for salvation (Midnight Mass)
Bring your hunger (The Witcher)
From past experiences (Loki)
Preparing for a new arrival (Loki)
Fighting to get to you (The Witcher)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do, but I am behind on my comments at the moment. If you've left me one, I will get to it.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
There's a few that I intended to be solely hurt/no comfort and then I said yes to requests to find a happy ending, lmao. But I haven't written those happy endings yet, so they are currently unhappy endings for:
What He Deserves
A New Life
The Words I Could Not Say.
The last one is an upcoming Lokius fic and is probably the angstiest, but again, it will have a happier ending when I write a second chapter.
There's also a fic I dropped under a pseudonym because it's darker and I wasn't sure how people would react to it, so I won't be telling you what that one is.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Um, I don't know, I'm gonna say what's freshest on my mind:
What My Heart Just Yearns To Say
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I've had one or two, so very infrequent.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Often. Usually penetrative or oral sex, kinky sex or masturbation, but I want to expand and write different kinds of sex.
I also write non-sexual kink.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I haven't myself, but I helped @rins-love-wins with a crossover between Loki and The Essex Serpent.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Never.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I'm credited as a co-writer on 15 because I helped with editing, but I've never done co-writing where we come up with the story together.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Lokius is the most enduring for sure.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Are You Jealous? haunts me. I haven't written a follow-up chapter in so long. So, it's currently on the doubtful pile even though I do want to finish it.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Tension, slowing down moments, delving into character emotion.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Crunching myself for deadlines, writing some fics without an outline and then feeling unclear of the direction for the fic, getting distracted from my wips by the new shiny shiny.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I like it. Haven't done it yet, but I like it.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Loki was the first fandom I wrote for, but Midnight Mass ended up being my first published fic.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
I'm gonna be cheeky and list a few for different reasons.
Petals In A Storm because it's my first completed multi-chapter fic.
Drown Out All The Sound because I managed to write a twist for the ending and blend my two faves: angst and smut.
In His Space because it's the most sexually tense non-smutty fic I've written.
