I am once again asking why everything I do leads to me having the weirdest problem ever known to man
#am i being tested by god. is that what it is. because sir i am not one of your strongest soldiers. i’ll lob my phone into a volcano#and move into the forest. and if anything crazy happens in the forest i’ll just [redacted]#like all i did was send off my dna to be tested for no good reason and now i’ve found a half brother i didn’t know about#and he’s respecting my wish to not contact our other siblings until i’ve told them he exists#(because i don’t know how they’ll react considering one of them’s mom got fucking cheated on by our dad)#and i am just sitting here like. SHOULD i tell them. WHEN should i tell them. HOW should i tell them#i feel like this isn’t a facebook message type of situation but considering i don’t know where either of them live or what their phone#numbers are because they don’t fucking communicate with me because we’re very LC; fb it’ll have to be#i haven’t spoken to my sister in 12 years or my brother in 2 though. so.#they’re not bad people or anything it’s just.. it’s difficult to know what to say to someone when you have a massive generational gap#and nothing in common apart from a man who is dead#i do feel like sooner or later i’ll have to tell them because i know if it were me i’d want to know#and it’s not like i’d be forcing them to use the information in any way#i’ll probably ask P (brand new half brother) for his consent first. he may not even want to speak to them#given that he’s had a million questions for me though; he probably will. it would be kind of nice if he’d bombard somebody else actually#but still. step one: get P’s consent to mention his existence to people. step 2: draft appropriate message#something like ‘hi [name]; i hope you and [family members i know of] are well. i just wanted to let you know i did a myheritage dna test#and i’ve found and contacted a man who i believe is our half brother. he was born in [year] in [town] and he looks just like our dad.#his name is [name]. we’ve compared notes and i’m almost certain he is our sibling. i realise you’ll have a lot of questions so please don’t#hesitate to ask me anything you’d like to know. he’s happy to be contacted by you through [profile link]. i realise this will be a big shock#but i thought you needed to know as i would want to know in your place’#and just. send and await the shitstorm#i don’t want to be doing thiiiis. but like. who else is going to do it#personal

♡♡♡♡
It's been three months since you first found out about the baby. You haven't told anyone. Trying your best to hide your newly growing bump. Even though you were scared, you knew you wanted to keep the baby. Even if you had to pack up and leave everything behind, this baby was yours and you were going to be their mom.
It wasn't hard keeping this a secret from your brother, he was halfway across the world but your mom and dad on the other hand were difficult. As time went on you felt as if you couldn't keep it a secret from anyone. You felt alone, you had to go to all your doctors appointments by yourself and it was scary.
You wanted to showcase your pregnancy, wanted a baby shower, to wear long flowy dresses that pronounced your bump. You wanted to start decorating a nursery for the baby. You couldn't do that alone, you needed to tell someone. You needed to tell your mom. But that meant telling them that you would be a single parent. Not that there's anything wrong with that but you know that's not what your family envisioned for you. You couldn't keep doing this alone though. You are about to find out the sex of the baby and you want your whole family to be there.
Making your way to your parents house, you see your brother's car in the driveway. You don't panic right away because you assume it's carola bringing the kids over to visit. When you walked in you shouted “mamá estoy en casa” mom I'm home. You miss living with them but you visit almost every other day, so really it's like you never left.
Walking through the house you hear no-one, but as you make your way through the kitchen to the back patio you see your brother. “Ay dios mio” oh my god, you scream and practically run into Sergio’s arms.
“Hola hermanita” hi baby sister, he says while hugging you back. You blame it on the pregnancy hormones but you start crying. “Hey, qué pasa?” What's wrong? He asked in a worried tone. You don’t know what overcame you but you felt the sudden urge to tell them.
“¿Puedes sentarte con mamá y papá?” Can you sit with mom and dad? It’s just the four of you at the house. The sooner you get this done, the sooner you can start living life. Your mom and dad look worried, you don’t want to scare them so you just blurt it out.
“Mamá, papá, sergio, estoy embarazada” mom, dad, sergio, I’m pregnant. Nothing would prepare you for the looks on their face. Your mom and dads jaw on the floor, your brother's jaw clenched.
“Hablas en serio” are you serious, your dad spoke up. All you can do is nod. “Who’s the dad? How did this happen” your mom said in English. You knew she was shocked because she hardly ever used English when it was just the 4 of you. It’s not like you weren’t expecting them to ask who the father was. But you hadn’t quite thought of who you were going to tell them. Because there is no way you are going to tell them about Max, they would kill you. Sergio would look at you differently.
“I-i-i, I can’t tell you who it is because he doesn’t matter, he doesn’t want to be a father right now and I won’t put him in the position to do so. I want this baby because I know I have you guys to help support and love me. This baby is going to be so loved, it doesn’t need a dad because they are going to have sergio and dad being a great role models for them. Mom, I need your love and guidance right now more than anything in the world. I am still your daughter, I want you to love this baby no matter what, no matter who their dad is, or how they were conceived” you said while big tears rolled down your face.
Segio was the first to move and give you a hug, whispering “I always got you”. He leans back and places a hand on your stomach, “seré un tío” I am going to be an uncle.
You nod and smile. Your mom and dad look perplexed but they make their way to you and both give you a kiss on the cheek and a hug. “No puedo esperar para conocerte bebé''  I can’t wait to meet you baby,  your mom said while holding your stomach. You know it’s going to take some time for your dad to come around to the idea but he’s supportive and that’s all that matters.

Over the next couple of weeks you finally start getting stuff ready for the baby. Buying stuff for the nursery and clothes for yourself. Right after your brother found out about the pregnancy he took you to the store and had you pick out a crib you liked. You were forever grateful to have him.
It’s Friday morning and you are patiently waiting for your mom and carola to pick you up for your ultrasound appointment, where you would be finding out if you are having a boy or girl. You are beyond excited. You don’t care what you have, as long as the baby is healthy and happy.
Getting up to put your shoes on, you hear your phone ring, assuming it’s your mom and sister in law telling you that they are ready for you to come out. You look at your phone and see it’s a text from a random number. Something in the universe is telling you not to open it, but you do.
Hey y/n. It’s max. I just wanted to text you and see how you are. I know it’s been a couple of months since we last talked, but I feel like you are avoiding me. I take part of the blame too. I should have reached out but I was expecting to see you in Miami but you weren’t there. Is it because of me? I promise I’ll leave you alone if it is. I just want to make sure you are okay. I hope to see you at the Mexico GP in the next few months. Please text me if you ever need anything. I’m here for you.
You don’t realize the way your eyes are stinging with tears until after you are done reading the text. A pang of guilt and sadness washes over you. You want to be so mad at max for texting you, but you know he has no idea, and he’s just trying to be nice. Your heart physically hurts, it’s like your baby knows it’s missing a piece of something. You remind yourself though that you are strong, so is this baby, and max is just getting started with his career. He does not need you or a baby weighing him down.
Jolting you out of your thoughts, you hear the car horn signaling you to walk out the door. You can’t dwell on max, he’s a distant memory. All you should be focusing on is this baby. No matter how bad it hurts not having the father of your child around.
Once at the doctors office, you are laying down with your belly exposed and cold gel covering every inch. “Do you want to know the sex of the baby?” You nod eagerly and hold your moms hand.
“Ooo they are hiding from me, come on baby let’s see what you are” finally finding a good position, the doctor takes a few pictures and says “congratulations mama, it looks like you are having a girl”. You look over to see your mom crying and Carola recording everything. “I’m having a baby girl” you kept repeating to yourself. You have never felt more happy.
When you are home alone, you start to think of the life you and your daughter will have. How you are going to homeschool her, and travel everywhere together. But your mind drifts to what could have been if max was involved. You had no doubt that max would be the best dad. He would be devoted and loving. A good father. He would take your daughter all over, putting her in karting right away but ultimately letting her choose her own path. Stop y/n, you tell yourself, those are dreams that won’t be coming true but you and your family will provide the best life for your baby girl.
All you can do is be thankful and happy, you want to embrace pregnancy in the next 5 months. You ultimately decide it’s best not to text max back, not to add fuel to the fire. You hope as time goes on you are able to accept the fact that max won’t be a part of this journey.
˚ ✦ . .   ˚ . . ✦ ˚ . ★⋆. .     ˚ * ✦ . . ✦ ˚      ˚ .˚ . .   ˚ . ✦
Months have passed, leaving you in your third trimester with little under eight weeks until you meet your precious baby. Pregnancy has been tough but also so rewarding, you can finally feel her little kicks, especially when you are watching your brother race on tv, subconsciously you wonder if she gets so excited because she sees her dad but then you tell yourself to stop being so delusional and she doesn't even know who her father is.
The Mexico GP is today and you have already told your entire family you aren't going. It would be too risky for the baby, but in reality it's too risky for max to see you. There was no more hiding your pregnancy. No matter how big the shirt or hoodie is, you can still see your bump. It’s better you stay home and just wait for everyone to come back.
Kicking your feet up, you turn on the tv and watch the start of the race. You see the crowds filled with your brother's face, and his number along with max’s. Sergio had a great start, pushing to the front of the grid, having him leading the race. Max followed closely behind him.
The race after the start was uneventful. Your brother won and you were extremely sad you didn't get to be there to congratulate him in person. Max was second and then Oscar, it was a good podium in your eyes.
You patiently wait for your entire family to come home including your brother. You knew that would be hours though, so you decided to take a nap on the couch. That nap ended up being a five hour nap and when you opened your eyes you saw it was dark out. Something woke you up though and it was the sound of the front door of your parents house unlocking. Sitting up you get ready to jump into your brother's arms to congratulate him. One by one your family walks in, mom, dad, carola, the kids, sergio, and then max.
You feel your heart drop to your stomach, you have to think quickly. He may find out you are pregnant but your family doesn't need to know that. Walking confidently over to your brother you pull him into a hug and say “felicidades hermano estoy muy feliz por ti” congrats brother I am so happy for you. You have yet to acknowledge that max is even standing in your familys living room with his mouth agape. Sergio hugs you back and says a quiet thank you.
“¿Por qué está Max en la casa?” Why is max at the house? You say to your brother hoping max did not catch any of that. But your brother had a different idea.
“Max wanted to come see the house and the city so we offered to let him stay the night and we can take him sightseeing tomorrow!”
You nod your head and walk over to him, extending your hand out for him to shake. “Welcome max, and congrats on the podium” you say. There was no way he didn't see your stomach. You were wearing a tiny tank top that you practically spilled out of. You know he's not going to say anything to you in front of your family. So maybe if you went to your room and ignored him this whole thing would blow over.
You should know better than that though. Because your family loved to bring up the fact that you are pregnant. You couldn't blame them, they had no idea that the father of the baby was 2 feet away from them.
Your mom was the first to speak up. “How is the baby Amor, did you get to rest or did she keep you up”. Well now he knows it's a girl. A part of you wanted to go cry in a corner but another part wanted to dote on your daughter no matter what. “No she has been really content today, during the race when she saw you sergio she got so happy, she was moving all over the place”.
A big smile formed on your brother's face, “that's my niece, she couldn't wait to see her uncle win”. You take a sneakily look over to max and he looks confused, hurt, and tired. You can't deal with this, you have to excuse yourself. You are going to tell them you have to go back to your house, even though you have been spending the last week sleeping over at your parents.
“Guys I think I am going to drive back to my apartment, that way max can sleep in my room” you say hoping you came off as convincing
“Nonsense, I can sleep on the couch” max is quick to reply.
Your dad is next to reply “you can't leave in the middle of the night, you are 8 months pregnant, you can't be alone”.
You don't have the energy to fight them so you bid them a goodnight and head to your room, hoping you don't get a visitor late in the night. Oh how could you be so wrong.
Tossing and turning in your bed you can't fall asleep, maybe it was the nap, maybe it was because your baby's father was 10 feet away from you. You don't know if it's the hormones but you want him, it's like a primal urge. Like you have been separated for so long and he just suddenly came back and he looked good. His hair is long, a tiny bit of stubble growing on his cheeks.
You have to sleep but you can't. You look at your phone and it's 3 in the morning, max has to be asleep right, it was an exhausting race. He wouldn't wake up right? If you go out to make yourself some tea.
You hate yourself for it but part of your subconscious wants him to ask, but you know deep down that would be the worst possible idea. Throwing your feet off the bed you stand up unsteadily and start to slowly walk out of your room. Max looks like he’s asleep as you pass the couch. Once in the kitchen you turn on the small light next to the oven and start to make yourself some tea.
Once done with putting everything away you turn around to grab your drink but see a sleepy looking max walk over to you. You don't mean to sound hostile but you do when you say “why are you up”. This was the man you loved, the father of your baby, but you were angry, at yourself or at him, you didn't know.
“I could ask you the same question” he responded. “I couldn't sleep, so I needed to get myself some tea, goodnight max”. You begin to walk away and as you walk past him he grabs your arm and says “wait, we need to talk”. Shit you've been caught, you think to yourself.
“About what?” Maybe if you play dumb he will also and ignore everything.
“You know about what y/n, don't play dumb, it's not a good look on you” max says with a snarl and strong grip on your forearm. The authoritativeness of his voice and demeanor sends chills down your spine.
“Okay, but not here” you whisper. Grabbing his hand you wander outside to the patio where no one can hear you from inside the house. You sit down and let max talk.
“So. You're pregnant?”
“Yes” is all you can say
“Your dad said you're eight months pregnant, so either you were pregnant when we slept together, or that baby is mine. Which is it y/n?”
“I - I, it's none of your business max, this baby and I were fine before this and we will be fine long after you leave” you stutter out.
“So she is mine, god damnit y/n, why didn't you tell me? I've lost 8 months of your pregnancy. Were you ever going to tell me?”
Guilt is eating away at you and you feel tears burning your eyes.
“I didn't think you would want anything to do with the baby max, you and I live completely different lives. You are you max, having a baby is a big responsibility. Do you know how hard it is for carola? She has four babies. She has to take them on planes all over the world so they can see their dad. How could I raise a baby with you, when we hardly know each other? When you don't even want to be with me? Tell me max, how would that work?”
“That's not your decision to decide on your own. How could you hide this from me? I could have been there for you, I could have been the one taking you to doctors appointments. Who knows?”
“Who knows what?”
“Who knows I’m the dad?”
“No one, I told them it doesn’t matter who the father is”
“I can’t believe you y/n, now everyone is going to think I’m some deadbeat dad who doesn’t want to be a part of their baby’s life. Well to hell with that, no more secrets. I am going to raise this baby and we are going to do it together” he said.
All you can do is nod your head and whisper out an “okay max, no more secrets”
“And who said I didn’t want to be with you?”
This catches your attention, because you hoped he would have ignored you when you said that. But of course he didn’t, max is the most observant person you've ever met.
“Max you have no idea how long I’ve been in love with you. Long before you and segio even became teammates, I yearned for you. But I refuse to trap you into staying with me just because I am having your baby”
“Again y/n that’s not your decision to make, do you think I would have slept with you if I didn’t have feelings for you. What kind of guy do you think I am? Y/n I don’t know where we stand on us being together but we are both the parents and I know we care for eachother. I will move to Mexico if I have to, but you are not going to keep this baby out of my life”
“I understand max, but what are we going to do when the press find out? Do you really want your daughter under that scrutiny? How are we going to tell our families? I’m sure my brother and your father are gonna be really fond of the idea of us having a baby together”
“Y/n you are not listening to me, none of that matters, who cares what anyone says. If your brother decides to punch me so be it, but that’s not going to stop me from being a loving and present dad, I’m not going to be like my father”
Something snaps inside of you, a need to reassure him and be close to him. You stand up and grab both his hands.
“Of course you aren’t going to be like your father, you are an amazing person, I didn’t keep this pregnancy a secret because I thought you would be a bad dad, I did it because I was scared of everything else. You don’t know how much I wished you were at the doctors appointments with me holding my hand. Going shopping to buy clothes and bottles. Some nights I would cry myself to sleep knowing our daughter would grow up not having you in her life. Taking her karting, protecting her, chasing her around that paddock. So don't ever think I hid her from you because I thought you were going to be a bad dad. It was me who was scared of how everyone would react and what they would say when they found out their precious max verstappen would have a child out of wedlock”.
Max pulls you into a hug, and for once in these past 7 months of pregnancy you felt like you could finally breathe.
“I’m going to protect you guys no matter what” he muttered into your hair.
The baby was excited, maybe because she knew her dad was finally with us. She was kicking up a storm.
“Max feel, she’s so happy you are here” you say as you grab his hand and place it on your tummy.
“She’s strong, maybe she will want to play football one day” he says with a smile.
“Let’s go to bed, we can talk more tomorrow” grabbing his hand you lead him to your bedroom.
Laying down on your side, max lays behind you and places a hand over your stomach. You sleep the best you have in a very long time.
˚ ✦ . .   ˚ . . ✦ ˚ . ★⋆. .     ˚ * ✦ . . ✦ ˚      ˚ .˚ . .   ˚ . ✦
Telling your family that max was the father of your baby went as well as you would think. No glasses were broken, no bleeding, there were some strong words shared but honestly you expected that.
As max was taking a shower, you sat in the living room waiting for everyone to come out to leave. Your brother plops down next to you and says “you know you could have told me”
“I couldn’t sergio, I didn’t want you to be disappointed in me”
“Y/n you are my sister, you always come first before my career, I could never be disappointed in you. Grossed out a little? Yeah. But never disappointed.”
You find yourself laughing and laying your head on his shoulder. You don’t know how you got so lucky to have a family so supportive.
˚ ✦ . .   ˚ . . ✦ ˚ . ★⋆. .     ˚ * ✦ . . ✦ ˚      ˚ .˚ . .   ˚ . ✦
Being with max is like a breath of fresh air. You didn’t know how bad you actually needed him, and now that you actually have him, you aren’t sure you can let go.
He jumped into his role of father to be fast and efficiently, much like he does with everything else. Before he left back to Monaco, he asked if he could go to a doctor's appointment with you and of course you said yes. You did make him wear a mask and hoodie to help disguise him.
Your doctor was surprised to see you come with a man, as you thought she probably assumed you were doing this alone.
“Who is this?” She asks with a smile and extends her hand out for max to shake.
Just as you were about to say a friend. He beats you to the punchline.
“Hello, I am the father of the baby, sorry it’s taken so long for us to meet, my work schedule keeps me busy” You smiled and grabbed his hand.
The rest of the appointment was smooth, the exciting part was the ultrasound. Max was by your head, watching tentatively at the screen.
“Baby girl looks good, has a fast little heart beat, height and weight are all in range, let’s take a listen to her” the doctor says as she allows us to hear the echoes of the baby’s heartbeat. This wasn’t new to you, but you never got over the fact that you were growing another life in you. You look over and see max in absolute awe. If you look close enough you actually think you see a tear in his eye. He grips your hand tight and says “her heart beat is so fast and strong, oh my god I can’t believe we are actually seeing her, doctor can I please have an ultrasound picture”. You are shocked he asked her for one, but for some reason his asking really reassured you that he was in this for the long haul, even if you guys weren’t a couple.
The appointment wraps up with the doctor giving us a couple ultrasound pictures and instructions to not travel, as you might actually deliver within the next couple of weeks if not sooner.
As you are driving home with max you ask what he thought. “Y/n that was amazing, I can’t believe we are having a little girl. She’s so big and strong already, do you have any names you think? I know we have a lot of stuff to discuss but after seeing her, everything seems like it’s going to work out. I will do whatever I have to, to keep you and her safe”.
You feel the words get stuck in your throat, all you can do is nod and say “it’s going to be the greatest experience you and I have ever accomplished. As for names, I have a couple in mind but I want your input. I have always really liked the name Alejandra or Catalina. but I want her to have a part of your culture in her name as well”. You look over to him to see a satisfied smile resting upon his face.
“I think those are great names, she will have a part of me in her last name, so whatever first name you want, I am happy to go along with it”.
Life feels really good right now. The sun is shining, and even though you and max are not together in the way you want, you will both work together to provide your daughter a happy life.
Max takes you back to your place. As you both walk in, you wash your hands and proceed to plop down on the couch, not bothering to take off your shoes. Max notices and kneels in front of you to unlace your laces, slowly taking them off. You don’t know if it’s the hormones but the tiniest of touch was leaving you with butterflies in your stomach.
“Thank you max” you muttered.
“What kind of partner would I be if I wasn’t able to do this for you” your heart skips a beat when he says the word partner.
Once finished he stands to look down at you. “You know y/n, pregnancy suits you. You look so pretty with our baby growing in you”. You can’t help but blush at the compliment. Starting to feel a heat overtake your body. You wanted him, but you couldn’t let him know that.
It’s like he could read your mind though. “Do you know I think about our night together often, every time before bed I touch myself thinking about your body and how it felt. Ever since being in Mexico, everytime I shower I get myself off thinking of you. Seeing you so domestic, barefooted, pregnant, not a care in the world, It makes me feral for you. I crave you y/n, do you feel the same?”
If it was easy for you to get up from the couch you would have pounced on him in a second. But instead he understands and grabs both of your arms, hoisting you up so you are standing in front of him. “Max, do you know how difficult it has been for me to not kiss you, grab you, love you this past week, I want you so bad, I want to be yours forever and always”
That's all max needs to hear before he grabs your face leading you into a kiss. It's a little awkward because of your big belly but you guys make it work. You can't stop kissing him. Things get heated very fast, teeth clashing, lips being bitten, hair being pulled. Max leads you to your bedroom where he takes off his shirt then yours. You hadn't worn a bra that day so he immediately went to grab your tits, worshiping them.
“God, your tits are amazing, they are so massive, presented to me, ready for me to take and devour”
You moan in response when you look down to see max leaving feather-like kisses around your nipples. When he hears your moan he pops one of your nipples into his mouth and begins to suck. While it all felt so good, you wanted him in you and he could tell you were growing impatient.
Popping off, he leads you to the bed and makes you sit. Your face now level with his crotch. You take this opportunity to start to unbuckle his belt and shimmy his pants and underwear off. Just as you are about to take him into your mouth, he stops you.
“Not today darling, today is about you, and I want to taste you, I've been dreaming about it for months”
He lays you back gently, pulling off your pants and underwear you feel the slightest insecure at being so exposed. In response you try and close your legs but he doesn't let that stop him. He separates them open with his hands, kneeling in front of you.
“Don't hide from me baby, let me make you feel good” max says as he looks up at you for confirmation.
You nod, and prop yourself up on your elbows so you can see what he's doing. Quite honestly you can't really see him because your belly is in the way but you do make eye contact with him as he makes his way down.
He licks a fat stripe right on your heat, it sends shocks of pleasure coursing through you. Max proceeds to kiss along the sides of your thighs, teasing you.
“Max, babe, please” you beg out.
“Is my girl needy for me? You're mine right? No one else, just mine. Say it y/n, tell me you are mine”
He has barely touched you and you already feel so fucked out. You manage to get the words out though “yes max I'm yours, only yours, I only have ever wanted you”. That seems to satisfy him because his mouth is on your clit in seconds. Taking his time between licking and sucking the bundle of nerves. It felt euphoric, max didn't get a chance to go down on you the first time you guys had sex, but now that you've got a taste of what his mouth could do, you don't know how you could ever let it go.
Sucking hard on your clit, he takes the opportunity to stick his middle finger in you. Slowly working you open, not that you need it, you are dripping in arousal. Your moans are filling up the room, max adds a second finger in you, curling up, creating something you have never felt before. The way his fingers moved inside of you, the way his mouth devoured you. It felt so good, you felt bad because you were pulling his hair, practically moving his face.
“Fuck, max your mouth feels so good”.
Max takes his mouth off of you and says “you taste so good y/n, I could eat you out for hours on end”
You never pegged max to be a man practically starved for pussy but here you are, and you are grateful that he is. You needed him in you though.
“Amor (love), please come fuck me, I need it so bad”
“How can I say no to my pretty girl, lay on your side”
You shimmy yourself up the bed, laying on your side. Max makes his way beside you, laying down. You take the opportunity to turn your head back and look at him. You see him slowly pumping his cock, about to slide it in you he asks, “Shit, do you want me to wear a condom”
Quite literally you couldn’t want anything less. “No no no, please I want to feel you fill me up. I want to be dripping with your cum”
“Fuck you drive me crazy y/n, you have such a dirty mouth on you.”
You reach back and grab his hip, helping him line himself up with your entrance. He trusts into you in one swift motion, the burn is just like you remember. The stretch is unlike anything you’ve ever felt. Max takes his hand and reaches over to interlock his fingers with yours. No words have been exchanged but you have never felt closer to him than in this moment.
You can’t reach back to kiss him, but he does leave a trail of wet, sloppy, kisses down your neck. You can already tell you aren’t going to last much longer, you have had so much bottled up, you needed a release. Max can tell by the way you are clenching down on him.
“Are you close? Play with your pretty clit for me, I’m right there with you”
You nod vigorously, taking your hand and rubbing between your legs. The next thing you know you feel your climax reach an all time high, and you are cumming all over his cock. You let out the biggest moan and feel your legs shaking. You can feel yourself throbbing, basically begging Max to cum inside you. He grabs your hip hard, you look down and see his knuckles are white, he slams into not once, not twice, but three times and suddenly you feel a warm liquid filling you up. Max groans, placing his face in your neck.
You guys lie there in a comfortable silence, just enjoying the closeness and comfort, because tomorrow he will be leaving back home and you don’t know how you are going to handle it.
Max slowly slides out of you and you feel his seed leaking out of you down your thighs. He kisses your cheek and mutters something about cleaning you up. He comes back in with a wipe and spreads your legs to clean you up. This feels extremely intimate but you allow yourself to be comfortable with it because you deserve to be taken care of.
After everything is sorted, you are both laying down and it’s you who speaks first. “Max, what does this mean”
He takes a deep breath before speaking. “I was mad at you for not telling me, I needed time to process everything, which is why I told you I needed time, but don't ever for a second doubt I didn't want you or the baby. I'm in it for the long run y/n. I’ll follow you both anywhere.”
“I’m sorry max, I can't imagine a life where you and I aren't together”
“You shouldn't be due until the end of the season, so right after the last race i'll pack a couple of bags and stay down here. I was thinking we would spend the first 6 months in Mexico and the next 6 in Monaco. I'll keep paying the house so we can go whenever. When racing starts back up we will figure it out then but im looking forward to having a couple of months with you guys disturbance free”
Your heart warms at the idea of him finding compromises for the both of you. And he was right, we would figure the logistics out as time went on, all that mattered was that you both were on the same page.
˚ ✦ . .   ˚ . . ✦ ˚ . ★⋆. .     ˚ * ✦ . . ✦ ˚      ˚ .˚ . .   ˚ . ✦
Max and Sergio finished the season off strong, and max stayed true to his word. Right after the last race he was on the first plane out to Mexico to join you for the birth.
Quite honestly he came in just enough time because not even two days after his arrival, your water broke.
“Do we have everything packed in the car max” you ask while pacing around the room.
“Yes sweetheart, let's get going”
As you expected max was completely calm and collected, acting as a support system. When the doctor came in and told you, we were ready to push, you got scared and max could sense that. He grabbed your hand and whispered “hey look at me. everything is going to be okay, do you think I would ever let anything happen to you guys? you are so strong and I can’t wait to see our beautiful daughter”
His words of encouragement helped you during the delivery process and before you knew it, your baby girl’s cry’s entered the room.
“Dad, do you want to cut the umbilical cord?” the doctor asked. The sheer look of awe was all over max’s face. You watch as he gently cuts the cord and makes his way back to you. After she is cleaned up they plop her down on your chest and you just take her in. She is the perfect mix of both of you, she has max’s pretty turquoise eyes and your dark hair.
You look up at max and see that he has tears in his eyes.
“She’s so beautiful, she’s perfect y/n and she’s all ours”
You nod because you are at a loss for words at how special this moment is.To think what this would look like right now if you never told him. Looking at both max and the baby, you begin to wonder how lucky you got. This baby started as a secret but ended up being the best thing that could happen to either of you. And you can’t wait to see the life that you and max build together.

Based on this request.
Lo'ak reaches out, touching the delicate woven poncho that his sister is wearing. It's not the kind of thing Lo'ak would typically notice, but something about it has caught his eye. There's a sparkle to it, something woven through the fabric that catches the light, very similar to the na'vi skin in the darkness of night.
"Where did you get this?" Lo'ak asks. Kiri looks down, and then shrugs.
"It was just with my stuff. It's really pretty, though. Tuk found one too... and mom."
"Huh," Lo'ak says, and his attention is then drawn to the carpet under his feet. A rug, brown and maroon, intricately woven and brand new. "This is new too, right?"
Kiri looks down, following her brother's gaze. "I think so. Looks clean."
"Huh," Lo'ak repeats, and then shrugs and moves on with his day.
xx
Even though I knew this day would come, I've been hoping to put it off for as long as possible. It isn't so much that I don't want to meet Neteyam's family, it's just that I'm worried to disappoint them.
As much as Neteyam hates it when I point it out, he's special. Not just because of the things I love about him, like his quiet sense of humor, his easy-going smile, his strength and his compassion.
He's special because of who he is, and who he was born to be. His birthright makes him special. Eldest son of Olo'eyktan. Were Neteyam ugly, harsh, stupid and cruel - the true opposite of himself - he would still be above my station.
He would still be too good for me.
And yet, here we are, walking hand in hand to meet his parents, so that he can introduce me as his betrothed. His intended mate. I had always told him I did not want his family to know about me, but never really told him why, until last night.
"Why now?" Neteyam had asked when I told him I was finally ready to meet his parents, moments after he took my hands into his and asked me to be his mate for life.
"Because I know now, truly that you love me. I don't need to be afraid anymore."
He had shaken his head and brushed a tear from my cheek. "I've loved you since the moment we met."
So now we approach their home, and even though I am secure in my relationship with Neteyam, I am nervous about being accepted into their family. He reassures me over and over that they will love me as he does, they will be thrilled for us, but it doesn't stop me from feeling sick to my stomach.
"Neteyam!" Taruk Makto is the first to greet him as we enter their tent, looking up from where he sits, and it's overwhelming to be in such close proximity to our clan leader. I bow my head as he looks from me to Neteyam and back at me again. His wife, Neytiri, is seated at his side, and turns her attention away from the arrows she is sharpening to look at us.
"Dad," Neteyam says, "Mom. I want to introduce you to Y/N."
He lets go of my hand, and places his arm around my waist, pulling me close to him. After only a moment of hesitation, Neteyam's parents rise to their feet. As they do, I feel movement behind me, and glance to see Neteyam's siblings entering.
Kiri is wearing the shawl I made for her, and Tuk has a dressing wrapped around her tail that I crafted. Beneath our feet, I notice a rug I just finished a few days ago. It makes me feel a little more at ease and at home, to be surrounded by my creations.
"Nice to meet you, Y/N," Olo'eyktan says, and I touch my fingertips to my forehead, and then bring them down in a formal greeting. I repeat the gesture for Neteyam's mother.
"I've been, uh, spending a lot of time with Y/N. She's really wonderful. She's better on the loom than anyone else in the clan. She made the rug we stand on, and Kiri's poncho, and many other things I've brought home. She was just too, uh, shy to own up to her talent."
Neytiri turns around, looking on a nearby table, and grabs another poncho I made. This one is green, more earthy than the sparkly one Kiri is wearing.
"This, too?" Neytiri asks, and I nod. "This is beautiful. They're all beautiful. Truly, unlike anything I've seen. You made these?"
"I did," I reply a little nervously. "I wanted to give them to you myself but, since we hadn't be introduced, I had Neteyam bring them to you."
"I asked Y/N to be my mate last night, and she said yes," Neteyam says suddenly, and a hush falls over the room.
I can feel my heart pounding in my chest, wondering which way their reactions will go.
Confusion? Anger? Disappointment?
"Wow, that's insane!" comes a cry from Lo'ak, and he reaches out, extending his arms to me for a hug. "Another sister, I guess! I mean, I've got enough, but you seem okay." He wraps me in strong arms, and I return the hug, so grateful that he's broken the silence.
When Lo'ak releases me, I turn anxiously to see Neteyam's parents, and the scene is exactly what I would have dreamed up if I hadn't been too scared to imagine this day.
Netytiri holds her eldest son in her arms, and over his shoulder, she smiles serenely at me. Jake has his hands outstretched, one on his wife's shoulders, the other on Neteyam's.
"I wish you had brought her here sooner, so we could get to know her!" Neytiri says.
"You guys are scary," Neteyam replies, and his father laughs. Neytiri reaches out, extending a hand to me, and I place my hand in hers.
"I have known something was going on with my son. He is as happy as he has ever been, smiling like a moron from morning until night. I was waiting for this moment." She holds one of my hand in both of hers, grinning at me. "You are welcome in our family. Now we can give you gifts in return, for the beautiful things you have given us."
I shake my head, feeling embarrassed at the tears pricking behind my eyes. "No, you don't have to do that. I like making those things."
Our chief hugs me next, quickly and a little awkwardly, and the relief I feel is palpable.
Quick acceptance is a surprise. I had imagined at least a little resistance, but I hadn't counted on Neteyam's parents putting his health and happiness above all else.
How could I? I didn't know them, hadn't known that besides being Olo'eyktan and the next Tsahik, Neytiri and Jake were just parents who loved their children.
We leave the tent much later, after hours of talking and celebration, and before we get too far away, Neteyam pulls me into his arms and presses his lips to mine in what feels like a long overdue kiss.
"I knew they would love you, just as I do," he whispers, his lips still touching mine.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I hated my step-brother. I hated the mischievous looks he’d give me from the other side of the dinner table whilst we sat beside our parents. I hate how he stole all my things. I hated that every time I laid eyes on him, I had to push down the arousal and need I felt towards him. It had all started when he moved back in with us, after his stupid band project backfired and he needed somewhere to stay; he was stupid, jobless, and broke.
Obviously, my Dad and Step-mom sympathised with him. I just found it annoying. He was a few years older, yet acted like a little kid, always treating me with playful meanness like I was his biological sister. If that was the case, I’d probably kill myself immediately.
Our whole family sat at the dinner table, silently eating whatever burnt meal Dad had prepared for us, James only just walking down the stairs after being called umpteen times. I played with my food, eyes fixed on James as he sat down next to me.
He looked beside him, taking in my appearance before resting the side of his face on his palm. I took a small bite of my food, trying to atleast pretend I was enjoying the crime against humanity on my plate. I nearly choked on my food as I felt a hand run up my thigh, my face flushed as my eyes darted around the room, gaze then fixing on James. He gave a small smirk in return, parents too busy talking about.. whatever it is they constantly ran their mouths about.
I cleared my throat, “I.. uh— May I be excused?” I said, legs tensing up. “What? You’ve hardly touched your food.” Dad says, a small frown on his face, “I’ll eat it later, I’m just- not hungry right now.” I quickly rose from my seat, brushing James’ hand off of my thigh as I did so. I sped upstairs, closing my bedroom door behind me tightly and pressing my back against it, chest rising and falling with heavy breaths.
It was getting increasingly harder to ignore what he did to me. I clambered into bed, laying my head on the pillow and just making an attempt to sleep off the confusion.
I only managed to get about an hours worth of sleep, when I was suddenly awoken by fingers brushing along my shoulder. I jolted up, the room pitch black. “Shh.” A familiar voice shushed me, putting his hand over my mouth.
“James??” I spoke, speech muffled by the palm of his hand. He pulled his hand away, pulling the sheets off of me and leaning over, hands rested at both sides of my head. “James, I don’t—“ I could hardly believe what was happening. Was this even real? Was I even awake? James’ breath hitched, a hint of regret in his expression.
He took his hands away, moving to get off of me, but I quickly stopped him and held him in place. “Stop it. I want.. this.” My tone of voice was flustered. It felt strange to be admitting that, but it felt good to know he felt the same way about me. “I think Dad’s still awake..” He whispered, gaze shifting to my bedroom door. I reached up and turned his head back to look at me, “Then we’ll just have to be quiet..” I mumble, pulling him down slightly to press my lips against his. He deepened the kiss, rubbing my waist and groaning into my lips.
He pulled away, “Fuck.. I need you.” He muttered, his voice shaking slightly. “I’m right here..- Please.” I gripped onto his shoulders tightly, stomach dropping when he rolled down my shorts and underwear, admiring my body beneath him. I quickly reached down, undoing the clothes on his bottom half and desperately pulling them off. He laughed quietly, “Someone’s eager..” James mumbled, voice hardly above a whisper.
He lifted me upwards and onto his lap, holding me in place by my waist and littering my neck with bites and kisses, before lining himself up with my pussy, sliding himself inside suddenly and without warning. I cried out loudly, only to have a quick hand cover my face. He slides it further in, my moans of pleasure muffled against the palm of his hand. Once he had allowed me to adjust, he moved his hand away.
I slumped over him, body leant against his chest and hear rested in the nape of his neck. “That’s— so good.. you feel so good inside me..” He jolted and let out a grunt upon hearing what I had said. Clearly, he enjoyed the praise. He thrusted up into me, arms wrapped around my waist to hold my body close to him. “James, you’re doing so good..” I cooed into his neck, one of his arms pulling off my body so he could press his palm to my mouth again. “Fuck.. be quiet..”
He whispered, speeding up his pace slightly; he was clearly unable to hold back. I whined against his hand, moving my hips back and forth to meet his thrusts. I shivered as he twitched inside of me, pulling my head away from his hand and leaning into his ear, “Please do it inside me.. don’t pull out.” I said firmly, his grip on me tightening when he fucked me faster. It felt strangely good. I had sex before, but it never felt like this, it was strange that my step-brother managed to be the one to please me, of all people. “I’m gonna cum..” He mumbled into my ear, voice trembling and tainted with desperation.
I cried out as he took ahold of my waist, pushing me down onto it and filling me up to the brim. I tried my best to stay quiet, but it was hard, quiet moans escaping my lips. He pulled out, laying me down on the bed and pulling his boxers up before laying down next to me. “That was— good..” I whispered. “They definitely heard us, though.” He replied.

I saw your post for more platonic Dabi and I was wondering how you think Dabi would comfort a reader who had a panic attack and or is extremely socially anxious and always seeks him out for comfort. Whenever reader is anxious in public they hold onto the corner of his shirt or sleeve and tend to follow him or stick close to his side. If reader didn’t have the best home life then they’re probably constantly afraid Dabi is going to hate them or leave them. Reader is the kind of person who will let people talk down to them, mistreat them but heaven forbid anyone so much as looks at Dabi in distain/disgust. Reader will defend him with their life and is constantly defending him from other people’s opinions. Basically just reader and Dabi being each other’s found family
Okay, for starters I would like to apologize from the deepest depths of my heart. I am not right the head (obviously.) and I would like to give you the right to owning my soul, for I have been putting off your kind request for so long, and I genuinely am so sorry for the delay.
Tumblr media
Now I actually think that this is very interesting especially form an analytical stand point.
Because Dabi does not like weak people. both physically and mentally. It's primarily rooted form his turbulent relationship with his father where he constantly tried to get stronger and better through training and pushing himself to be a strong as possible to please his father. his idol.
from that I think he would despise those weaker than him, not because he actually hates them, but more so because he needs to put other people down to rise himself up. it's more so "it's not that I should succeed, others should fail." it makes him feel better about himself, gives him that feeling of accomplishment that he would normally get from his father saying "good job." but eh rather gets it from bullying.
You'd have to do something truly spectacular to catch his eye for him to not put you down like he does everyone else.
I don't think it could be kindness, since when Rei persuades him to stop training an pushing himself so hard, he instead takes it as her trying to stop him. I'm not saying that that exact senario would play out as in
reader : Dabi! I got you flowers.
Dabi : YOU WANT TO STOP ME FROM BEING A HERO??!?!?!?!?
I'm saying he has a hard time accepting kindness, I'm saying he might not know what is someone trying to help him and what is someone trying to hurt him. like Rei does. this might actually draw him away.
I think what might actually work is the relationship he had with Fuyumi and Natsuo. because all three were heavily affected by their father's neglect and violence and I think that this may be evidence of sympathy or a ledge to protect them one day as a hero.
(of course, he doesn't become a hero, rather going partially insane as I would say and focusing on getting revenge on Enji, most likely to avenge himself and his brother and sister.)
what may lead him to you is the shared sympathy the both of you have when it comes to bad origins. it's the same sympathy he had with this siblings (minus Shoto) I'm thinking he walks in at the wrong time while you're in the middle of crying your heart out I do that way to often and while he doesn't interfere right at that moment, he will talk to you as best as his unsocial ass can. things like "sorry that happened to you." "you're not alone, that happened to me too." undercover of sarcastic remarks like "you're such a crybaby."
or something easier where the both of you reveal more and about your pasts forming a close relationship. details like "my dad would be pissed about that." or "ugh! that's something mom would say!" after a cruel insult. it would be an unspoken bond but a bond nonetheless.
this gives him an undying sympathy for you that he can't properly express. trust me he has so many things to say.
"I love you."
"thank you for being there for me."
"I would give you the world if asked."
"you're the reason I get up in the morning."
but for a child of an abusive and unloving relationship, the words are just not there. no seriously. there's only this feeling of warmth with you and nothing else. no words, only a flurry of pinkish love.
He'll let you come to him like the little ball of fear and sadness you are at times, he'll let you cuddle up you him as much as you want. he'll push you off when calm down a bit though, he'll leave with a grumble about how needy you can be.
note though, that he would probably never push you off immediately. it's not that he hates you, he thinks you're disgusting and the worst thing to ever exist.
it's just that he doesn't know how to respond. and I don't blame him.
it takes a while to get used to, get used to being loved and having something to love. but once he does you are SO in for it.
I'm talking flowers from the grocery store, free stolen popsicles, the right to murder anybody and have him help you clean it all up.
because he genuinely loves you, he really does, and when he understands after a couple years of knowing each other how to receiprocate your love, it suddenly all become to easy to be human, to be alive, to be happy.
he also does doesn't like you being talked down to. it comes from the depths of his childhood dream of being a hero and protecting people. especially loved ones like he does for Fuyumi and Natsuo. this also transforms into a need to provide for his loved ones, this can take form in helping you put together furniture, helping you with groceries, and talking to you when you're lonely. things you would do with your dad, which he basically is at this point.
on the same boat, he doesn't like you to fight for him. in his mind, it's HIS job to protect you not vice versa. he's seen you cry, talked you through your panic attacks, been there through those nights. you've already fought so much with yourself, you should not be fighting for him.
it's beautiful really. how much this one thing can change Dabi. it's just that you'll have to stick with him through the sarcasm and the insults and the roasts. but in the end.
he loves you. he'll protect you. maybe not Japan as a hero, but this one little thing. this one little perfect thing, he'll die for.

— gorgeous, what can I say ?
the presentation went fine, nothing to worry about. y/n didn't throw up, neteyam didn't cry about whales- it was a success to the two of them. truth be told, the two of them kind of zoned out after they presented. they found a lot more amusement in just chatting up the back than listening to what their classmates had to say.
once class ended, their professor shot them a weary glance- knowing that they hadn't listened to a single word another student had to say. they didn't feel guilty, even though they knew they should've; but they enjoyed each others company too much to not hang off of every word the other said.
neteyam hesitated before speaking once they were outside, was he nervous? "did you want to come back to my place?" y/n took note of the way he shuffled his feet, "I'm taking tuk for ice cream when she's come from school if you wanted to come,"
y/n tried to not let her face light up too much, but it was impossible. he had asked her to come home with him? granted, it was to hang out with his little sister- but y/n would do his laundry or his dishes if it meant she got to spend another minute with neteyam.
"I would love to," she nodded, "means I can finally meet tuk!"
"oh," neteyam laughed, "she's been waiting to meet you, she'll be very excited"
"tuk knows who I am?"
"yeah, of course" neteyam nodded, "kiri talks about you all the time and they know we were partners for an assignment,"
y/n nodded, walking towards the parking lot with neteyam. "I'm honoured to be spoken of in the sully house," she joked.
"you really should be," neteyam chuckled, "right up there with the topics of tuk taking dad's credit card to buy robux and how the mato's bought a new barbecue so we should buy a new barbecue..:" neteyam sighed with a smile, "but we can't afford the barbecue because dad's card has been put on hold because tuk has been buy too many robux,"
y/n couldn't help but laugh, "I'm sorry," she shook her head. neteyam laughed too.
"it's okay," he promised, opening her door for her before heading over to the drivers side of the car, "it's fucking hilarious".
"not to your dad though," y/n gave him a knowing look.
"no," neteyam said with wide eyes, "so when you meet him, definitely don't bring it up,"
y/n laughed as neteyam turned the key in the ignition, "noted," she nodded. neteyam held her gaze for a little longer than he should have before putting his hand behind y/n's headrest- reversing out of the parking lot and heading towards his house.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"y/n, can you come back another night?" tuk held onto y/n's hand as they walked outside to say goodbye to her. neytiri stood at the door watching her youngest, making sure she wasn't going to kick up a fuss once y/n had to leave.
"if neteyam wants me to I can," y/n chuckled, looking over at neteyam who was leaning against his car, waiting for y/n with a smile on his face.
"what if I want you to?" tuk stopped in her tracks.
"alright you," neteyam leaned down and picked tuk up, holding her close to his chest, "go back inside and I'll be home soon, yeah?"
"but you have to promise to ask y/n back," tuk was pouting in her brothers arms, "..please?"
neteyam sighed with a smile, "of course,"
"I would've come over anyway," y/n whispered to tuk. the younger girl looked back to y/n with a big grin. they said goodbye to each other before neytiri called out a farewell. neteyam opening y/n's door for her once again.
"thanks," she mumbled with a shy smile. the drive was almost silent if it wasn't for neteyam's soft humming. "what song is that?" y/n asked.
"my mom wrote it," he only let his eyes flicker to her for a second before returning to the road, "there's a little bit for each kid, my part is the best of course," he shrugged.
"oh yeah?" she laughed.
"yes! is is,"
"that's pretty cool though," y/n told him.
neteyam hummed in agreement, "it's very special to our family,"
small patters of rain began to fall on the windscreen of the car. those patters became heavy fall. as neteyam pulled up to the girls dormitories, it was pouring rain in the cool of the night.
y/n grimaced slightly as she thought about having to run across in the rain, no jacket, no anything to keep her warm. neteyam startled her as he reached over into the backseat of his car.
"here," he handed her a hoodie.
"what's this?"
"a hoodie?"
"why?" she laughed.
"because it's pouring rain?" he looked at her as if it was obvious. y/n looked over the soft maroon fabric, the number twenty-four and his last name was embroidered on the back.
"what's this from?" she asked.
"I run track in the summertime," he said nonchalantly with a shrug.
"you do?" y/n scoffed with a smile, "I didn't know that,"
"there is a lot of things you don't know about me," he grabbed the hoodie back from her and held it open for her. "arms up," he told her. neteyam helped y/n find her way into his jumper, pulling the hood over her head. he laughed as it practically engulfed her, he could barely see her face in the abundance of fabric on her head.
"you gonna be okay to get back?" he asked her, "do you want me to walk you there?"
y/n hummed, "opening my doors for me, offering to walk me back to my room? I guess chivalry isn't dead," she joked.
"neytiri raised me better than that," he smiled.
"she definitely did," y/n nodded in agreement. they both sat in his car, not wanting the other to leave. y/n knew she would have to be the one to go first.
"okay well, I guess I'll see you next week in class?" y/n asked softly.
neteyam slowly nodded, "course, but don't forget you told tuk you would come back soon and that girl can hold a grudge,"
they both laughed together as the rain drops fell onto neteyam's car. "I can't break my promise to tuk," y/n smiled, her hand resting on the door-handle, "I'll see you soon, nete"
"bye y/n"

“You know, you’re pretty good at this, Doc.” Wrecker says with a grin as his gaze drifts from the fish he’s cleaning, to where the team medic is crouching next to a roaring fire.
The light from the orange flames gives her an almost ethereal look, and Wrecker has a look away before he gets too distracted. “Well,” She admits as she clears a space of snow, as best as she can, and pulls the tent out of his kit, “Mom and dad divorced when I was a kid. And while mom had a nice house, dad wasn’t so lucky. So his weekends were usually spent camping.”
“So you could probably clean this fish then?” Wrecker asks, as he glances at her curiously.
She smiles sheepishly, “Well, dad did show me how, but you’re doing a wonderful job.”
He grins at her, and sets his knife to the side, “Well, as it happens, I’m done anyway. You have everything set up?”
“Yep. Just toss everything in the pot.”
Wrecker does as she instructs, and watches as she adds a few packets of seasoning, as well as some dehydrated vegetables, “I’m guessing your dad had you doing most of the cooking?”
“Yeah. Well, he wasn’t very good at cooking, really. So it was either learn to cook, or me and my siblings were going to end up with tapeworms or something.” Wrecker sits on the flat rock that she found…somewhere…and starts cleaning his knife.
“You know, you don’t talk about your family often.”
She glances at him, “Well, there’s not really much to say, is there?” She drops the contents of a second package into the pot, and then sits next to Wrecker, “My family is just average.”
“I’m not sure what an average family is,” Wrecker points out, “Though I bet Tech could tell me.”
She laughs, “Right, right. Well, there’s mom. She was a housewife up until she and dad got divorced, and then she got a job at the local elementary school getting me and my siblings free tuition. Dad was a firefighter who had a gambling issue. And then there’s the kids, my other brother, me, and our younger sister.”
“Well, you’re a doctor. What do your siblings do?”
“My brother is a chef at some big name restaurant on Coruscant. My sister is trying to become an actress, though she’s only really starred in commercials.” She shrugs, “Like I said, normal. Your family is so much more interesting.”
He laughs, “That’s one word for them.” Wrecker finishes cleaning his knife and stashes it away, “Are you comfortable?”
“Hm?”
“It’s kind of cold.” Wrecker points out.
“Oh, I’m alright. The fire is helping, and Hunter insisted I wear cold weather gear for this mission.” She hesitates, “Do…do you think-?”
“I’m sure they’re fine. Tech is there, after all.” Wrecker drapes an arm over her shoulder and tugs her against his side, “We’re the ones who have to camp outside in the snow.”
She smiles shyly, “I’m not worried.”
“No?”
“I have you here, don’t I?” She asked with a small, almost flirty, smile.
Wrecker’s heart flips nervously, “I…uh…”
She tilts her head, “Am I making you uncomfortable?”
“Nah, Doc. I’m just…I’m not Hunter or Crosshair, I’m not used to flirting.” Wrecker admits.
“I’ll stop, if you want.”
“Well now, I didn’t say that.”
She laughs, her hand coming up to cover her mouth, “I like you, Wrecker. You’re fun and you make me laugh and you make me feel safe. I’d like to go on a proper date with you, if I can.”
Wrecker blinks at her, “You…you do?”
“Yeah, if it’s alright.”
“We don’t really…there isn’t much time for proper dating-” Wrecker stammers, “And I don’t get paid-”
“I do get paid, and, well, it doesn’t have to be a big thing, Wrecker. I just want to spend time with you.”
“Well, in that case, can’t this be considered a date?” Wrecker points out.
She looks startled for a moment, and then she beams at him, “I think that’s a wonderful idea.” She lifts to her knees slightly and presses a light kiss against his cheek, before she settles next to him again.
Wrecker presses his hand against his burning cheek, a wide grin that he isn’t even trying to stifle.
Being stranded here isn’t as bad as it could be.

PICK YOUR SIDE (rewrite)
Tumblr media
includes : fem!reader. cursing. implied death. older sister!reader. younger sister!reader. reader is older than lo’ak but younger than neteyam. angst. read with caution (?). i’m leaving this on a cliffhanger.
Tumblr media
they say a picture is worth a thousand words. you beg to differ. the smiles of your family members made your mouth go sour. who knew it would go so wrong so quickly.
your fingers trailed over the family photo in your hand, stopping over neteyam’s face. he was such a bright soul, he must’ve been so scared.
it’s been a few years since neteyam had passed. three to be exact. the family went somewhat back to normal but the home you all once shared felt more dull and dim than normal.
you all left neteyam’s things untouched. his bow still in the same place. his pillow positioned in the same way. you all just couldn’t move it, feeling like you were slowly removing parts of neteyam by touching his things.
your family all grieved him in different ways. some ways were healthy and some were questionable. but you didn’t feel the need to bring it up. you were dealing with your own feelings. you felt hurt, betrayed, guilty and most of all, angry. your anger was a force to be reckoned with per-say. you did a good job at hiding it, pushing it down for 3 years straight.
Tumblr media
your father experienced the most change out of all of you. becoming more protective of the rest of you all, never wanting to experience that kind of loss ever again. so when quartich and the rda came back, he immediately shut down the idea of helping them fight.
‘but father please i-‘ ‘y/n that’s final. you will stay here with lo’ak and tuk.’ yet again your father dismissed you, your mother flashing you a pitiful expression as she followed your father.
it wasn’t fair. you deserved just as much as a chance as they did. you could help them. you could avenge your brothers death. neteyam didn’t deserve to die in vain.
lo’ak appeared behind you, a large hand on your shoulder. lo’ak grew into such a mature young man, he was 17 now, a true warrior. he mirrored neteyam so much it brought tears to your eyes.
‘go. i’ll watch tuk. go help them fight’ he said, placing something in your hand. it was neteyam’s bow and a few of his arrows. ‘lo’ak no i can’t-‘. lo’ak said nothing as he pushed you out of your home, giving you a small smile before running back in.
Tumblr media
you quickly caught up to your parents. jake didn’t speak as he figured you would come anyways despite his warning. he knew you were just like lo’ak, hard headed and stubborn. neytiri didn’t want to admit it but she was glad you were there.
the three of you managed to make your way deeper into the forest, your bodies on constant high alert. your ear twitched as you heard a twig snap, neck snapping towards the noise as you quickly lined up the arrow with his bow, whispering a quick ‘make this one count neteyam..’ before the figure jumped out at you, holding its hands up and yelling ‘don’t shoot it’s me!’ you instantly recognized the voice as spider, lowering your bow and sighing. ‘you’re lucky i didn’t kill you’ not knowing the events that would take place there shortly afterwards.
Tumblr media
your dad had alerted you that they had found quartich a few moments later, turning your attention from spider and bolting your way towards the cliff they were on, spider hot on your tail.
you watched as your father and the man who’s tortured your family for years tussled, both men slightly wounded from the brawl. ‘mom! dad!’ you yelled, turning their attention to you. just then quartich quickly kicked jake off of him, radioing in for the helicopter to come down and get him.
your father rubbed his nose and your mother ran up to you, screening for any injury. ‘mother i am fine..’ the winds from the helicopter propellers made your hair fly into your face, watching as your father just let him go. ‘you son of a bitch i thought we killed you already!’ he yelled over the noise.
quartich just let out a sinister laugh, looking behind them and winking. ‘you have my boy to thank! saving his old man like a son should!’
Tumblr media
your world froze. your blood went cold. the sound of the bow and arrows hitting the floor like blocks on a carpet. you couldn’t help but slowly turn around, horror painted across your face as you met eyes with the boy who you thought of as a friend. as a brother.
‘boy..is this true’ jake said, the noise was gone as quartich flew away. spider was silent. the 3 year long feeling of guilt eating away at his insides as he put his head down, shame written all over his face.
neytiri said nothing, afraid she was going to severely harm the boy yet again, she stayed silent, yet her eyes told a million words at once.
you felt like you couldn’t breathe. you felt like the world was caving under you as you stalked over to the boy. ‘did you..really?’ you asked, your voice nothing short of a whisper. he met eyes with you, giving a shameful nod.
in that moment you felt nothing but rage. 1,065 days of rage. the nights and days you stayed up sobbing, wishing to yourself that it was you. praying to eywa to bring your brother back. 3 years of suppressed anger bubbling over like tea in a kettle.
Tumblr media
everything moved in an instant. one minute you were in front of the boy, now you are dangling him from the cliff, his cries and pleads with you to spare his life were muffled as your mind was spinning every which way.
‘y/n no!’ your father tried to rush over to you but neytiri was quick to stop him. while she disliked the human boy, her body tensed up watching you hold him over the ledge. one wrong move and you both were done for. ‘ma jake..if you go..they will both fall’ she said, holding a tight grip on her husband. jake looked surprised at you. you couldn’t even hurt a fly if you tried and here you were, on the verge of killing spider.
he felt bad for both parties. spider was just a boy protecting his family, as jake does with his own family. and you were his grieving daughter. he felt for you but he also felt for spider
‘y/n just think about this..you don’t have to do this..killing him won’t bring neteyam back..you gain nothing from this..’ he said, breaking from neytiris grip, stalking over to you with his hand extended, hoping you would break out of this trance and realize what you’re doing.
‘father..you really want to save this human? he’s the reason your son is dead.. your precious golden child..and you want to save him?” you looked back at your father, leaning spider over the edge even further, almost slipping in the process.
‘y/n!’ your mother called, now behind jake as she’s trying desperately to pull you back, afraid to lose another child.
‘i’m going to give you both a choice..pick your side..me?’ you said turning to them, angry tears now streaming down your face. you slowly turned your head to the now sobbing boy as he continued to beg and plead for his life.
‘or the bitch im gonna kill?’

Lola- HS
Part 1- 6-7k words
Lola's whole purpose in life was to be the wife of the Don of the biggest Mafia in the world. Ever since she was a little girl she was told about Harry and how they would make the perfect couple when they got married later on life. Lola didn't know much about Harry himself, she had only heard story's about him and had had dinners with him and his family ever since she turned 15 four years ago. They were never allowed to talk outside of these dinners though, Lola was still too young and Harry was already too busy for anything apart from work.
Since she was to be Harry's wife, his family had always provided for her. They made sure she was placed in the best schools and had all the best pieces of clothing and makeup. Harry's mom would take her shopping once a month for anything she could want. Once she turned 16 she was given a credit card that was funded by Harry, it had no limit so she could spend as much money as she wanted. Lola rarely ever used it, her parents gave her money too so she found no interest in spending Harry's money.
Lola was as of three hours ago officially 19. She had been awoken by knock on the door at around 8:30. It was her mother and father, they had breakfast and a boquete of flowers with them. After congratulating her they talked for a while as she ate breakfast. At 9 her parents left her to begin getting ready, Lola took a shower and did her skincare. Once she was done she walked out of her room and took a look out her window. Her party was being set up outside in the garden of her house. She could see her mother talking with the party organizers and one of the contractors that had provide all the utilities.
"Come in." She said after hearing a knock on the door. She turned around as the door opened and found her little brother standing there. He was still in his pjs and looked like he had just woken.
"What's up?" Lola asks him but gets no response, instead he walks over to her and wraps his arms around her waist. He was only 8 and was incredibly affectionate. Still too innocent to the world they lived in.
"Happy Birthday." He says and looks up at her.
"Thank you." She bends down and picks him up. Even though he was getting bigger and taller by the day, to Lola he was still a baby. She was 11 when he was born and she very much saw him as her own kid. He wrapped his arms around her neck and legs around her waist.
"I heard that you're leaving." He whispers.
"Who told you that?"
"Dad was talking about it over the phone. I don't want you to leave." He hugs her tighter and it makes Lola want to cry, the last thing she wants to do is to leave him alone. But she truly has no choice, Harry would most likely propose to her at the party and she would have to say yes. After that she would have to move in with Harry and plan the wedding with him.
"I won't lie and say that I'm not leaving because I am. But I will be here every weekend with you, mom, and dad. You won't even notice I'm gone." She walks over to her bed and sits the both of them down.
"It won't be the same." James says and begins crying.
"James, I will always be your big sister and you will always be my baby brother. I'm always gonna be here for you Jamsie." Lola wipes the tears that where falling from James's eyes.
"Promise?"
"Promise."
Lola played him a movie on her TV while she got ready for the day. She had changed right after her shower into cream shorts and a navy blue jumper. She let James "do" her makeup in hopes it would cheer him up. And it did, he became a giggling mess after smudging a lot of blush all over her nose.
"Lo, Emma is here." Her mom said as she opened the door to her bedroom. Emma was Harry's mom, she had been involved in Lola's life since she was a baby. She cleaned off the blush from her nose and put on her shoes.
Lola walked downstairs to the living room and found Emma sitting there talking with the organizer of her party who looked rather stressed. She felt bad for the man, the pressure he must feel from her mom and Emma must be getting to him.
"There's the birthday girl!" Emma stands up and wraps her arms around the girl. "Happy birthday, Lola."
"Thank you."
"We need to get some last minute confirmation on the music you would like to be played." The organizer said and pointed to her notebook. Lola took a seat next to him and begin to list off some songs she would for sure want to be played. They spent half an hour doing that, after that she was directed outside to personally inspect the decorations in the tables and the food that would be served later on.
"Harry is coming, right?" She asked Emma as they where watching people put the flower arrangements together.
"Of course, he wouldn't miss it for the world." Emma gives her an encouraging smile and wraps her arm around her shoulder.
Lola continues to supervise the whole set up with Emma until she is sent off for lunch at 12. She eats some pasta and chicken and watches some TV with James and her dad. At 1:30 the crew that was doing her makeup and hair arrived to begin to get her ready for the evening. She would be having two different outfit changes, a pale yellow minie dress and a baby pink long flowy dress. The shorter dress would be used during the cocktail/ day side of her party, the longer dress would be used during the night time of the party. Both of these dresses had been chosen in between Lola, Emma, and Lola's mother.
The party would officially start at 5 but they wanted Lola to be ready by 4 so she could take pictures with her family before the party. Her hair was curled into beach waves and her makeup was mostly glittery and with soft pastel tones in the corner of her eyes. Her heels are plain white and had some pearls on the straps.
"You look perfect." Emma says as he looks at her. Emma was now changed and ready to go for the party too. Her blonde hair was put into a half up half down style and her sage green dress looked absolutely stunning on her.
"Thank you, you look amazing too."
"There is someone for you downstairs."
Emma had a cheeky smile on her face so that could only mean one thing, Harry. Lola walks down the stairs and in fact finds Harry in the living room talking to her father. He was wearing a dark blue, almost black, suit with a loose white shirt underneath. He had his usual cross necklace dangling around his neck and a pair of black sunglasses pulling back his curls. He stands up from his seat and walks towards her.
"Happy Birthday." He says to her and gives her a quick hug. Even with heels she was still shorter than him so she had to look up at him a bit to meet his eyes.
"Thank you."
"You two look so cute together." Anna, one of Lola's younger cousin's, said. This earned her a slap on the arm by her mother but that didn't take the smile off of her face. Harry's and Lola's "love" was something that people in the mafia looked up to. They were meant to be the perfect match, this was at least what they showed to the others. In reality, Lola didn't even know Harry's favorite color or ice cream flavor.
"Can I take some pictures of you two outside?" A man with a camera asked them. Harry nods and leads Lola to the garden.
Lola stands beside Harry as they take pictures. His right arm wrapped around her waist. They had never been this close before, the most they ever got to was sitting next to each other during dinner. They take a couple more pictures before Harry leaves to take a business call. Lola took some solo pictures and with her family before heading back inside so she can welcome the guests as they come in.
Lola doesn't see Harry again until dinner is served at 7. Harry took a seat next to her in the head table where only close family was sitting at.
"I like this dress more." He whispers into her ear, she was now wearing her pink dress. The dress made her look like one of those fairytale princess and Harry really liked that. Lola smiles up at him, she was hoping he would like her dresses.
"I'm glad." Harry shifted on his seat and that's when she saw it. Inside his pocket was a small white box, he really was going to do it that night. Lola felt her heart stop for a minute, she had been expecting it but now that it was really happening it scared her quite a bit. Once they got engaged the wedding would be close to come and as soon as that happens they would begin to try for children. Her duty was to provide Harry and the mafia with an heir. Same way that Emma provided Harry as heir she would too. It was all dawning on her too quickly to the point she begin to feel like she was suffocating. Her heartbeat was the only thing she could hear and the room felt too warm for her comfort.
"I'm going to use the restroom." She stands up and walks towards the house quickly. She manages to get to her room before she fully starts to hyperventilate. She sits on the edge of her bed and holds onto her mattress. She hadn't even noticed she was crying until a knock on the door took her out of her trance.
"I'll be out in a sec." She says to whoever was outside.
"It's Harry." He doesn't wait for any sort of response before opening the door and walking into the room. He had never been in her room before so this was a completely new environment for him. She had a lot of posters and vinyls all over her walls. He also noticed that the dominating colors where white and pink.
"Oh, hey." Lola says as she wipes her tears.
"What's wrong?"
"It's nothing, I'm just being stupid."
"You're not, and I can tell that there is something wrong."
"I saw it, the... the box."
"Oh." Harry doesn't really know how to respond, he thought it was to be expected for him propose that day.
"Can I see it?" She asks, Harry hums and takes the box out of pocket. He opens it before passing it Lola. The stone on the ring was large and shiny, something that would definitely make Lola stand out.
"It's beautiful." Lola says to Harry.
"If you don't want to get engaged today I can switch the date." Harry tells her but Lola immediately shakes her head and gives him the ring back.
"No, it's okay. We should head back down." Lola tells him and stands up. Harry follows after her as they walk downstairs. Right as they are about to walk to the garden Harry grabs Lola by the arm and pulls her back.
"You sure you want to do this?" Harry asks her.
"Yeah."
They walk back into the party, Lola putting on a big smile and Harry going back to his usual stoic face. They eat dinner and chat with the people around them, Lola stands up and begins to walk around the tables making sure that everyone is having a good time. At around 8:30 everyone was finished with their dinners. Lola was talking with one of her cousins back at her original table when Harry stood up to make a toast and called her over to the dance floor. It was go time.
"I would like to make this toast to congratulate my girlfriend on her birthday. You deserve the world and more Lola. I hope we have many more birthdays like this together. Because of that I would like to ask you something." Harry got on one knee and pulled out the box from his jacket. "Would you like to marry me?"
"Yes!" Lola almost yelled before jumping up and down. She was told by her mother to overreact if she had to but to look as happy as possible. Harry stood up and put the ring on her finger before pulling her into a hug. The guests all clapped and cheered for them.
Lola and Harry walked around the party together and accepted all the good wishes they received from members of the Mafia. They decided on cutting the cake after that so they could really party for the rest of the night. Her cake was of multiple layers and pink with gold stars all over them. The candles where pink with gold swirls and there was a candle in the number 19 in the middle. They all sang happy birthday for her and Lola was told to make her wish. She wished for her future marriage to go well, if it did, by her next birthday she should be pregnant or with her baby already.
Once everyone ate their cake they all took to the dance floor. Harry of course refused Lola's attempts at pulling him to the dance floor, saying that he didn't know how to dance as the main excuse. Lola however knew that was a lie, she had seen him years ago at parties when he was in his late teens/early twenties and he was always dancing with someone. Harry watched Lola and the rest of the members dancing for the next couple hours. Enjoying a few drinks here and there as a form of distraction.
"You sure you don't want to dance?" Lola asks Harry as she takes a seat next to him. Harry looked bored and she was just trying to make him feel more welcomed into the party.
"No, I think I'm gonna head out. Have a couple meetings early tomorrow." He says and stands up.
"Already? It's barely midnight." Lola tells him, was he really that bored?
"Work's my priority and like I said I have early meetings tomorrow."
"By meetings you mean drug deals or gun trafficking? I'm glad to know my birthday means that little to you." Lola says with a scoff.
"I would have expected you to have better manners considering how much money I have spent on your education." He says and begins to walk away. Lola is now feeling the bravery of the alcohol and decides to go after him.
"I would have expected you to care more about me since I'm your future wife after all."
"I do care." They where farther out in the garden and right outside her house.
"Whatever makes you sleep better at night."
"Lola I'm not going to argue with you right now."
"I wish you would."
"Why would you? Do you want to be on my bad side, is that it? Or are you just that much of an attention seeking whore that any sort of attention makes you feel good?" Harry says and gets up close to Lola's face. Lola however stands her ground, keeping eye contact the whole time.
"I just want to get to know you."
"We can do that some other time, I really gotta go now." He walks away once again, this time Lola doesn't follow him.
….
Lola and Harry had managed to avoid each other for a week before they where forced back together. Emma had suggested they visited Harry after having lunch together so they could begin talking about some details of the wedding. Lola had tried to convince Emma of not going but after some insisting on Emma's part, Lola gave in.
"Good evening." Collin, Harry's assistant, said as the elevator opened. Harry had a whole floor to himself and his close people. The building had over 50 floors, each directing a different branch of Harry's "business".
"Mr Styles will be with you in a second. Is there anything I could get you to drink?"
"Can I get some tea?" Emma asks him politely.
"I'll just do some water." Lola tells him and he nods before walking inside a different room. Lola watches him leave and come back with the two drinks. She grabs her water and thanks him. Collin walks back to his desk but stands back up after a beeping sound is heard.
"Mr Styles is ready to see you." He opens the big black door that leads to Harry's office. Emma walks ahead of her and sets her drink down before hugging Harry.
"Good evening, darling." Emma tells her son softly.
"Good evening, mum." Harry hugs her back slightly. Harry looks up and finds Lola standing just a couple feet from where he was. She was wearing a black turtleneck, white miniskirt and black platform boots. A black leather purse hanging from her right arm. Her hair was down and mostly straight. She looked stunning even in a simple outfit. The ring was however the most noticeable thing in the outfit, it was shiny and large.
"Lola." He said with a nod of his head.
"Hey." She takes a seat on the couch area in Harry's office. Emma walks over, pulling Harry along, and sits down in front of her.
"We are here to talk about the wedding." Emma says excitedly, Harry looks at Lola and they make eye contact. They keep it for a couple seconds before Lola looks away.
"You guys can choose the stuff, my only request would be that it's held in my house." Harry tells them.
"That's it?" Lola asks him.
"Yeah, it can all be to your choosing. It's supposed to be your day after all."
"It's not just mine, it's our day. Our wedding day at that." Lola was questioning if he even wanted to slightly get married at all.
"I know that, but the decorations can be of your choosing. If there is any input to be given from my side my mother or sister can choose it."
"So you really don't care about anything?"
"I'm gonna leave you two for a minute." Emma stands up and walks out the office.
"It's not that I don't care, I just think it's better if you take care of it." Harry says as soon as his mom closes the door to his office. Lola rolls her eyes and looks as far away from him as she could.
"No, you just don't care." She stares blankly.
"Okay, Lola. You can think whatever you would like. If that's all you were here for you may leave."
"Why do you have to be such an asshole all the time?!" Lola yelled.
"I'm not, this is just the way our marriage will work. I'm sorry if this is not what you wanted, trust me it's not what I wanted either." At that Lola felt tears brim her eyes, she never really thought he would outright state his dismay against the arrangement.
"Then choose another wife." She tells him and walks out of the room. Purposefully slamming his door in the process. Lola feels Emma following after her to the elevator. Once they got in and the door close Emma spoke up,
"I'm so sorry, darling." Emma hugged her side. "Know that I will be talking to him very seriously later tonight."
"Please don't, If he wants to move on with our marriage he can talk to me on his own. I don't want you to have to be a mediator between us."
"It's truly no bother but I respect your wishes. Just know that I will always have your back no matter what, I was once in your position after all."
"Thank you, it truly means a lot." Lola told the woman and hugged her tight. She doesn't know what she would do without Emma.
"Of course, darling. Let's get you home now, I think you've had enough for today."
Emma dropped Lola off at her house and they said their goodbyes.
"I'm home!" She yelled as she walked through the door and dropped her bag in the couch.
"Lo!" James yelled and ran towards her. Lola bend down and picked him up spinning him around the air.
"I missed you."
"I missed you more, Jamesie. How was football?" Lola asked him and placed him back down on the ground.
"Good! My coach said I am improving so much. I might be getting moved up with the older boys." James explained as they walked towards the kitchen together.
"That's amazing, I'm so proud of you. Do you want a snack?" Lola asked him and he hummed.
"Strawberries and Nutella?" He asked with puppy eyes.
"Sure, but don't tell mom."
"My lips are sealed." He 'zipped' his mouth and threw away the 'key'.
Once she made him his snack she guided him through a bit of his homework before going upstairs to get changed. Her outfit was getting quite uncomfortable and there was not point in wearing it anymore since she wasn't going out. She changed into a pajama bodysuit with long sleeves. It was one of her personal favorites, mainly because the patter was of little pink flowers. She washed of her makeup and brushed her hair. Once she was done she put on her Ugg boots and walked down to the living room.
"Almost done?" She asked James who hummed.
"Just have math left, it's what I'm working on."
"Confused or doing good?"
"I'm good."
Once James was done with his homework they went upstairs to the family room and watched some movies together as they played UNO. At around 7 their parents came back home and they all ate dinner together. Lola helped the maids wash some of the dishes and clean up the table after being dismissed from dinner. It was a bit of a normal occurrence for her to do so. She enjoyed talking to the girls who worked at her house, they where all quite a bit older than her but they where still pretty close. She was talking with Brooke, who was 25 and the youngest of the maids, when another one of the maids interrupted them.
"Mrs Lola, there is someone here for you."
"Who is it?" She asked as she dried her hands off and took off the apron she had been wearing.
"Mr Styles, he was quite persistent on seeing you." The maid responded her in a dreamy voice, it seemed that everyone was in love with Harry.
"Wish me luck." Lola told Brooke who gave her a thumbs up. She walked out to the living room and was shocked at what she was seeing. He was wearing dark blue jeans, a large orange sweater, and off white tennis shoes. She had never seen him look so normal in all the time she had known him. If she saw him on the street she would have never guessed he was the don of a mafia. To add more to the strangeness he had a bouquet of pink roses with white baby breath and a couple other kinds of pink flowers.
"Harry?"
"Hey." He felt his breath be knocked out when he looked up at her. She looked adorable and comfortable in her pjs.
"These are for you." He walked over to her and handed her the flowers.
"Thank you. Sophia?" The maid came out of the kitchen and waited for what she was going to be asked to do. "Could you do me the favor of putting this in water, please?"
"Of course, Mrs Lola." Lola handed her the flowers.
"Thank you." Lola waited until Sophia was back in the kitchen before turning back to Harry.
"What are you doing here?"
"I was hoping we could talk, in private." Harry told her and motioned towards the kitchen. He was sure the maids where overhearing the whole conversation.
"I trust them, but we can go to the library if you'd like."
"I was hoping we could go to your bedroom, it's a more familiar environment to you." Harry explained and Lola gave him a strange look.
"Uhm, sure. It's this way." She led him upstairs and to her room. She walked in, Harry behind her, and took a seat on her bed.
"I'm gonna close the door if that's okay."
"Sure." She begin to fiddle with one of her pillows as she watched Harry close the door and take a seat in-front of her.
"What did you want to talk about?"
"About what you said earlier, about me getting another wife." He explained and Lola felt even more confused then she was before.
"I'm not doing an open marriage if that's what you want." Lola said sternly causing Harry to immediately shake his head.
"No, it's just- if you weren't to be my wife, what would you want to do? Like a career or something."
"I'm not sure, perhaps study fashion design. In Milan or Paris, it was my childhood dream." She continued to pick on her pillow and avoid as much eye contact with Harry as she could.
"I can make that happen for you." Harry stated simply.
"How? I'm supposed to marry you in a few months and give you a kid."
"I would call off the engagement." Lola looked at him like he was a ghost.
"As great as that sounds, we can't do that. I can't do that to my family."
"I can, I am the don. I can change the rules if I want to, and don't worry about your family. They will still be under my protection for as long as they live. Including you too of course."
"But-"
"I can and will find a way around anything. But I will only break it off if you want to. I won't ruin your life like that, Lo."
"I- I don't know. I guess Paris sounds nice but I'm not sure I want that."
"I know it's hard but I don't want you to be miserable with me. And from what I can tell we aren't very compatible. Perhaps it would be for the best, you deserve a husband that lives up to your dreams, that will treat you like the princess you are." Harry places a hand on her leg and pats it. Lola felt a couple tears fall from her eyes.
"Okay." She simply says.
"Okay what?"
"We can break off the engagement." She wipes her tears and looks outside through her windows.
"Are you sure?" He asks her and Lola hums before removing his hand from her leg and standing up.
"Lola, don't leave please." He said as he watched her walk towards her bathroom.
"I just need a minute." Harry stands up and follows behind her. He watched her rest her hands on the sink and look at her face in the mirror. More tears where falling from her eyes every passing second. Harry couldn't just stand there and watch so he did the next best thing. He walked behind her and wrapped his arms around her. This just cause Lola to cry more, in all honesty she didn't know why she was crying. She didn't love him but a part of her wanted for him to love her. She had this image in her head where once they where married they would both fall in love with each other, and just like that their fairytale would begin.
"Shhh, it's okay." He held her up and rubbed his arm up and down softly.
"I just- I- I don't know what I'm supposed to say or do."
"Sit down." He sat her down on the toilet and bended down in front of her.
"It's okay, just breath. In and out, in and out. You're doing so good." He held her hand until she started to breath more normally.
"Why don't you want to marry me?" She asked with a little sob at the end.
"It's for the best, Lola. Like I said, we are not compatible."
"So it's my personality?"
"It's not just you, it's me too. We clash all the time, you won't be happy with me darling." He ran his fingers through her hair softly.
"And you won't be happy with me either."
"I won't." It breaks Harry's heart to say it and Lola's heart to hear it.
"I'm sorry." She said and looked at him in the eyes for the first time.
"You have nothing to be sorry for."
"I do, my duty was to be everything you would want and I failed. I failed you and everyone else."
"You didn't fail me or anyone. You are a lovely girl, Lola. And I'm sure you will be a lovely bride one day but it just can't happen with me." He explained to her in the softest voice he could muster. He hadn't realized how fucked up this whole thing must be for her. He was taking away her whole birth purpose without any warning.
"Can I ask you something?" Lola asked him.
"Anything."
"Is there someone else that you are interested in? I totally understand if you are, I would rather know now."
"There's no one Lola, you've been the closest I've gotten to any sort of formal relationship."
"That's a bit weird, don't you think? I mean we barely know each other, I don't even know your favorite color."
"Orange and blue, those are my favorites. Thats why I'm wearing them right now."
"Pink and gold are mine."
"I sort of guessed that one by looking at your room." Harry laughed and Lola rolled her eyes playfully at him.
"It is kind of obvious." She admitted and Harry nodded. They didn't say anything for a couple seconds, the atmosphere felt warm and comfortable to the both of them.
"I should go now." Harry stood up and extended his hand for Lola to take.
"Okay."
"Come on, I'm not leaving you in the toilet." Lola took his hand and stood up. Harry lead her to her bed and lifted up the comforter so she could get underneath the covers.
"Thank you."
"It's my pleasure, go to bed soon."
"I will."
"And I will let my parents and your parents know that we are not getting married anymore."
"No, can we tell them together? Your parents have been in my life for so long, I love them so much too. I want to be able to tell them too."
"Okay, I'll organize a dinner for Friday. Invite our families and a couple close friends."
"Yeah, that works."
"I'll call you tomorrow for some other details. Take care of yourself, Lola. Goodnight."
"Goodnight."
Harry walked out of her room and closed the door behind him. As soon as he made it to the stairs he felt his legs give out on him a little. He took a seat on the top step and rests his head on his hands. He felt so oddly empty, even though he didn't feel much for Lola, apart of a small attachment, letting her go stung his heart. She had been a comfort to him his whole life even though they had never had talked at all. When life got bad he always knew he would have her at the end, they where meant for one another. Now that was done and over with. No more Harry and Lola, the best match the mafia had ever seen, everything had been perfect. Until now.
"Are you a robber?" He heard the voice of a little boy behind him.
"No, do I look like one?" He asked the young boy.
"No, you look more like a pumpkin." The boy giggled and Harry chuckled
"You are James, right? Lola's little brother?"
"Yeah." He took a seat on the stairs next to Harry.
"Are you her boyfriend?"
"Yeah." He decided it would be better to not confuse the little boy on all the small details.
"Can I have a room in your house once you get married?"
"Sure, but why do you want a room?"
"So I can stay there all the time, have sleepovers like I do all the time with Lola now." James explained to Harry.
"I will make sure you have a room all for yourself then."
"Thank you, that works as great bribery to me so I officially like you now. I hate you for taking Lola away but I like you for getting me a room. I will like you even more  if you get me a new LEGO."
"New LEGO, got it. Have a good night James."
"Good night, Lola's boyfriend." James stood up and went back to his room.
Once walking down the stairs he made his way outside. His car was waiting for him in the front of the house. His car was red Ferrari and one of his personal favorites of his collection. The drive back to his house was of about 20 minutes, he used to be closer when he lived in his parent's house. His mom had advices him he bought a house close to Lola in case of an emergency but he had refused. At the time he was still incredibly against the idea of marrying Lola. He was only 24 and felt disgusted by the idea of marrying someone. Now that he was older he hoped he had listened to his mom, it would have been easier to keep and eye on Lola and his family. They where under his protection after all, he would rather die than have any of them be hurt because of him.
He drove up the long driveway, saying hi to his guards in the process. He walked inside the house and headed to his room right away. He wasn't in the mood to eat dinner or do any work. He took off his shoes and pants before laying down on his bed. He rolled around a bit before finding a comfortable position. Somehow he ended up with a pillow hugged to his chest. Harry buried his head deep into the pillow and closed his eyes. He would never admit it to anyone but he thought of Lola, the way she would feel as they cuddled during the night. She would play with his hair and he would hold her so close to him he would be able to feel every inch of her on him. If she was pregnant he would be rubbing at her tummy all night making sure that their baby was safe. That thought on its own sent him down a spiral. But now that can't happen, he had pushed her away too far this time. Their future was simply nonexistent.

𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘: living with jay means constant bickering over everything. his growing protectiveness borders on overbearing, making you question if he's just looking out for you—or something more.

"𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐋 are you waiting for?”
your older brother, jay, yelled from the doorway like a fed-up parent. you were still barely conscious as you sat at the edge of your bed, watching him with a lazy gaze.
“just give me ten more minutes.” you mumbled weakly, collapsing back onto the bed. jay let out an annoyed huff as he strode over, his footsteps echoing with purpose.
“it’s already 10 am! go shower and let’s hit the market. we’re doing the grocery shopping today!” his deep voice and the no-nonsense tone sent a wave of reluctance through you. you burrowed your face further into the mess of blankets.
“i don’t ever wake you up when you’re running late,” you complained, face still squished in your pillow.
jay rolled his eyes and clenched his teeth, clearly in no mood for your usual antics. out of the two of you, he was the one who slept the longest and was notoriously hard to wake up. however, being the denial king, he ignored this fact altogether.
jay couldn’t stand your habit of staying up late or your recent ‘lazy morning routine’, especially with the dark circles under your eyes that were getting worse by the day. he worried silently about your health, though he’d never admit it outright.
“stop making excuses,” he muttered, grabbing your hands and pulling you up with a surprising amount of strength.
you gasped at the sudden movement. before you knew it, you were face-to-face with him. you quickly pushed him away, snapping back into reality. after all, you weren’t kids anymore and his “big brother” treatment was getting a bit awkward now.
if someone asked you to describe your ideal guy, you’d probably say “someone like jay” without a second thought. sometimes, you’d even wish he were from a different family so you could date him. he had all the qualities you wanted, minus his temper.
“i'm craving steak today,” you muttered to cover your nervousness, yawning as you lazily fixed your sheets.
“steak? you need more greens,” jay said, unable to hide the slight smile as he noticed your bedhead. your hair sticking out in every direction like a cartoon character’s.
“greens again? i finished my soup yesterday,” you replied flatly, throwing a pillow back onto the bed.
jay didn’t reply immediately, instead reaching over to help fold your blanket. your bear plushie then fell to the floor. he picked it up, shaking his head with a bemused look. for all your tomboyish tendencies, he still found it funny how much you adored cute things like that plushie.
a small warmth spread through him as he realized you’d kept it all these years. at least, in some way, he still felt connected to you after all the guilt he’d carried over the years.
there were times when jay resented you—especially as kids—feeling like you’d “stolen” his parents’ attention, but as you both grew older, he’d come to see you as the sister he was grateful to have.
“are mom and dad coming over today?” you asked, dragging yourself to the bathroom.
“yeah, they’ll be here around noon,” jay replied casually.
you froze, wide awake now. “why the heck didn’t you tell me sooner?!”
without a second thought, you grabbed a towel and dashed into the bathroom. if your mom caught you lazing around, she’d have a field day lecturing you. you weren't not ready to accept it because jay's nagging is enough for today.
jay shook his head, chuckling as he left your room. he prepared cookies and milk while waiting for you. he’d already cleaned downstairs, scrubbed every surface, and folded the laundry that usually cluttered the sofa. it seemed like he also didn’t want to get a scolding.
your parents had been busy working out of town, so jay took over the housework while you helped him with tasks outside the kitchen.
sometimes you two got annoyed with each other. jay often made a mess of the room when hanging out with his friends, while you spent time experimenting with your dad's tools to create diy room decorations.
a few minutes later, you rushed downstairs, wearing an oversized white t-shirt and knee-length cargo shorts. your face dusted lightly with powder and the faintest swipe of lip tint. you grabbed a cookies from the counter, holding it between your teeth as you opened a massage from someone.
as you typed a quick reply to your friend, you suddenly felt jay leaning over your shoulder, peering at your phone screen without a hint of shame. before you could even react, he reached around you and snatched your phone right out of your hand.
“who’s this?” he scanned the message. his voice was low and grumbling, giving off a hint of possessiveness that felt a little too serious for what was essentially a joke.
“jay, what the hell? give it back!" you reached to grab it back, but he held it just out of reach and blocking you with his shoulder.
“‘hey, let’s hang out tonight.’ really?” jay squinted at the screen, reading the message out loud with a mocking tone.
you rolled your eyes. “stop being so dramatic. he's just my friend."
jay’s expression turned serious, his gaze sharp as he looked down at you. “that guy? a friend? please, i knew what that look in his text meant."
“you're just overreacting,” you groaned, finally succeeding in swiping the phone back. “i'm just going to the usual place, you don't have to worry."
“can't you just say no to him? you have other friends,” he muttered, almost to himself.
“why?” your voice turned flat. It wasn’t the first time Jay had tried to stop you from going out like this. “what's wrong with him, huh?”
“he's just not the kind of guy you should be hanging around,” jay replied, which made you laugh bitterly.
“oh, so now you think you know everyone?” the clock already showed midday, so you headed straight to the front door and put on your sandals. “you've only talked to him once.”
“why don't you get it?” jay reflexively reached for your shoulder, but you pulled away immediately. “i often meet him in places he shouldn't be! you just don't know him like i do!"
you frustrated by his sudden overprotectiveness. "seriously? you’ve been doing this with every friend i make. what, are you screening everyone now?"
"i’m just trying to keep you safe, you idiot!" jay frowned, clearly defensive. "some of these guys don’t have the best intentions."
"maybe," you snapped, "but you’re definitely not my dad, so stop controlling me."
the atmosphere suddenly became quiet. jay's eyes darted on you, but he didn't say another word. his usual confident demeanor softened, just for a second, showing a hint of vulnerability that caught you off guard.
jay wasn’t trying to limit you. he was just worried because you were often careless in your friendship. knowing your past, your childhood, and the wounds you carry until now, he didn’t want you to feel hurt again from people taking advantage of your kindness.
"i can take care of myself," you replied, softening your tone as he passed you without making eye contact again.
"i know, i just don't want anything bad to happen to you."

The trip to your parent’s place was filled with laughs, kisses and a few rest stops. It was the first time Bucky was going to meet your family since you started dating and being scared was one of the many emotions you felt. Not because your family wouldn’t like him but just because you knew how overbearing your family could be during the holidays but Bucky insisted that he could handle it so that's how you found yourselves driving to upstate New York, to your parents place.
Soft lips pressed a kiss to the back of your hand which snapped you from your thoughts and you smiled over at Bucky. “It’ll be fine, Doll. I promise I can handle it.” He said.
“I know I just don’t want you to get overwhelmed or trapped around all these loud nosy people.” You chuckle softly, moving your hand to caress his cheek as he drives, which he appreciated.
“Baby.. Do you happen to forget that we work for the avengers? Have you been in a room with any of them at all?” He laughed and gave your hand a reassuring squeeze.
“Okay- that is true! But these are people you’re meeting for the first time.” You counter.
His brow quirks, “Do you forget that everyone was a stranger to me at one point including you? I think I can handle being around a roomful of strangers for a couple hours, plus they’re your family. It's important to meet them, especially since I love you so much.” He grins at you before the navigator told him the destination was close.
After a few moments the car was parked and Bucky had rounded the front to open your door. Getting out you grabbed the cupcakes you made just so you didn’t show up empty handed before walking up to the front door of your childhood home. Bucky politely knocked before his arm snaked around your waist keeping you close, today he opted to wear a long sleeve and his usual leather glove long with his leather jacket, your parents knew who he was and you understood his hesitation but you reassured him that your family would be considerate given his past.
A second passes and your mom answers the door, she greets you both with a big smile and moves out the entryway for you to step inside. Bucky takes the cupcakes from your hands so you and your parents can share a hug as well as take your jacket off to hang it up.
Shyly he shifts his weight from foot to foot until you turn your attention to him with a bright smile. “Mom, Dad, this is my boyfriend Bucky that I’ve been telling you about?” You nod softly before you take the cupcakes and walk them into the kitchen leaving Bucky to say his hellos with your parents.
He looks a bit nervous but you give him a smile to help sooth him which it does, he gives your mom a quick hug and gives your dad a handshake before they go back into the kitchen.
Your mom checks on the turkey as your younger sister comes in and gives you a hug, while everyone’s attention is occupied, Bucky decides to slip off his jacket as well as his gloves. “He really is cute.” He smiled at your sister's whisper, not sure if anyone knew he had enhanced hearing so he kept his pride to himself.
Instead he walked over and greeted your little sister. “Doll here’s told me lots about you. It’s nice to finally meet you, I do hope you’re enjoying your break from college.” He said, your sister smiled up at him.
“I am, thank you. But now I’m worried about the things you’ve heard.” She laughs.
“All good things, I promise.” He chuckled, a man came down the stairs followed by a woman who held a young boy in her arms. The man looked more like you causing Bucky to assume that was your older brother.
“Hey man it’s nice to finally meet you.” Your brother gives Bucky a smile and one of those weird manly handshakes with a shoulder pat which makes you giggle softly under your breath.
“It’s nice to meet you too, all of you, really.” Bucky nodded and looked around the room.
The woman holding the small child greets you both quietly before she goes over to the fridge to grab a juice box for the little one in her arms.
Your dad moves into the living room along with your brother while your sister in law sits at the kitchen table with her son. He’s happily babbling, not caring much for everything that was happening around him besides the fact that soon enough he too would be enjoying a yummy dinner.
Your sister grabbed a cupcake and took a bite before she spoke, “So how did you and my sister meet?”
You sit down and babble quietly with your nephew while Bucky answers your sister. “We met at work actually, since she works with the CEO of Stark Industries and I work with the husband of the CEO of Stark Industries, we were bound to run into one another which we did often.” He flashed you a soft smile as you helped occupy your nephew.
The sight made his heart clench but he turned his attention to your mother who now spoke up.
“You two have been going out some time now, things must be serious huh?” Teasingly she waggled her brows at Bucky which made him chuckle.
“I’d like to say they’re pretty serious. I really do love your daughter and I do my best to make her happy.” He replied.
His answer makes you smile. “We moved in together a couple months ago to our own place near Stark tower.” You speak up. Bucky moves to sit beside you at the table and rests his arm on the back of your chair, a football game plays in the background as you hear your father and brother mumbling things to the television.
Your nephew takes note of Bucky and tries to reach out to him which makes the dark haired man chuckle softly. He coos at the little one and lets his small fingers run along his cool metal hand which makes the boy let out a soft squeak.
Your sister in law speaks up, “So Bucky do you have any nieces and nephews? You seem like a natural when it comes to kids.”
He nodded. “Mmhm I do, my little sister Rebecca had children. Although I never got to meet them because of my circumstances, I am happy to hear she had quite the life.”
The woman nodded and gently bounced the little one in her arms.
“You two ever think about having kids?” Your mom asked from across the room, her hands busy peeling potatoes.
The question made your cheeks warm up. “Mother, we just moved in together, not that long ago.”
“So? Doesn’t mean you two can’t think about your future together. I’m assuming you see a future together right?” She aims this question at Bucky who nods without missing a beat.
You can’t help the excited butterflies that fill your belly. “We haven’t even spoken about it much, once we do then we’ll let you know our plan.” You reply with a laugh, brushing your mother off.
“Don’t worry, I’ll let you know the plan.” He teases, speaking to your mom.
She nodded and finished up peeling the potatoes before she set them on the stove. Dinner was almost ready which helped you relax a bit, so far things weren’t as bad as they could’ve been but you still have nerves bubbling into your chest as everyone spoke.
Bucky could sense your nerves and he rubbed your back soothingly, eventually your sister in law took your nephew into the living room and joined your brother on the couch. The sight of the three cuddling up together to watch the football game made you indulge in a daydream with Bucky that you rarely allowed yourself.
It was of you both laughing and enjoying family dinners such as this one but instead of showing up with cupcakes you show up with a little girl of your own. A cousin your nephew could get to know once they’re both older.
You didn’t realize you were that spaced out until Bucky gave your shoulder a little shake, leaning in he whispered, “You okay baby?” Pulling back he looked at your features.
You nod and get up from your seat and you grab a bottle of water for yourself trying to distract yourself from the sweet little daydream. Taking a drink or two from the bottle you sat back down beside Bucky to which his arm curled around your shoulders once again, he gave your cheek a quick kiss which made you smile.
Your mom asked your little sister to set the dining room table which she did, meanwhile the door rang once again, you had an older sister but she had a family of her own which you assumed she’d be staying with her husbands family as they were closer but soon enough your niece came rushing in to give your mother a big hug. A toothy grin on her lips as she flung herself into your moms arms.
Your older sister and her husband came in moments later, she was sporting a small baby bump which made tears spring to your mothers eyes. Everyone chimed in and said congratulations, Bucky held you a bit closer as it grew a little louder in the home thanks to the surprise.
“Why don’t we take a step outside?” You whisper against his shoulder, looking up at him with soft eyes.
He nodded and got up to grab his coat for you. “I’ll meet you out there once you’re done?” He asked.
“Yeah baby, I’ll just be a moment or two.” With that he politely excuses himself for a breath of fresh air while you greet your sister and her family.
Just as you promised, a few moments later you meet Bucky outside on your family's porch and he drapes his jacket over your shoulders. “Are you doing okay so far?” You ask.
He nodded and wrapped his arm around your waist. “I’m okay, I just needed a moment alone with you.” His chest is to your back, his lips press a few butterfly kisses to your neck.
You hum softly in appreciation and the two of you have a few stolen kisses shared together before your little sister comes out to tell you and Bucky that dinner was ready. A faint blush crept up his neck at the interruption, giving your sister a sheepish smile. He kissed your cheek once more before holding the door open for you to head back inside.
Your family is gathered at the beautifully set dining table, your niece happily babbling about some children's show to your brother while your mom's passing around the mashed potatoes, you feel a hand rest upon your knee and smile up at Bucky as you recognize his touch. Your heart flutters at his smile, he genuinely looked happy.
Leaning in, you whisper to him, “I love you.” His blue eyes grow wide for a second but his smile stays plastered to his lips.
“I love you too, Doll. You’re what I’m most thankful for this year.” He says before he presses a kiss to your lips.
“Happy Thanksgiving, Bucky.” You reply. “Maybe next year I’ll be hosting dinner with a ring?” You tease with a soft laugh, earning a playful pinch to your side.
The rest of your evening you spend laughing, chatting and eating dinner with your family. You knew this is exactly how you wanted to spend your holidays, with your family and with the man you loved most.

They were champions of LaLiga after four years of hard work, sacrifices and determination. It was also Pablo's very first title playing for the first Barça team, so he decided to throw a not so little barbecue party at his family home inviting only his friends, teammates and their significant others.
You were of course first on his list, as his own girl and as you always say 'biggest fan' hehe. You were so proud of Pablo for not giving up even when people started saying he is 'overrated' and 'worse midfielder Barça had'. He kept his head up, his focus sharp and he deserved this title.
"Amor, do you want red or blue napkins?" you came from the kitchen showing him each color and he smiled pointing at red before saying he 'needs your help' with something.
"Let me just give these to mamá and I'll be right there cariño" you said and it warmed Pablo's heart to hear you call his mother 'mamá' knowing how much Belen loved you for her son.
"What is it cariño??" you came towards the grill and Pablo smirked pulling your waist behind the wall and into the secluded corner before attaching his lips to your hungrily.
"That was it..thank you so much amorcito" he smiled with his forehead against your and you smiled wide with your cheeks blushed feeling happier than you ever did in your life.
"Y/n!" Aurora's voice interrupted your voice and Pablo rolled his eyes making you giggle at his exaggerated response. He loved having ALL your attention ALL the time!
"I seriously feel jealous of my family for loving you as much as I do!" he said and you chuckled pecking his lips one more time while caressing his cheek softly.
"You have all my heart Gavinho, don't worry.." you wink at him walking to see what Aurora needed while he looked after you for a few moments thinking to himself how he got so lucky to have you in his life.
"Your brother might kill you for interrupting our moment hermanita" you joked and Aurora rolled her eyes reminding you that she was indeed Pablo's sister, they are quite similar to those who know them both.
"There are people at the door asking for you??" she said and you furrowed your eyebrows wondering who it could be since your parents were traveling for work and you don't know anybody else who knows Pablo's address.
"You know how to ruin romantic moments Rora!" Pablo snarled at her while working on the grill with his dad and when she told him someone came to see you, he got curious as well but didn't give it much thought.
You came to the door and when you opened it, you were in utter shock to see your high school ex boyfriend and his family smiling back at you.
He was a definition of 'toxic boyfriend' always limiting and trying to control everything you do. You found out some months after the break up that he was even continuously cheating on you because you weren't ready to sleep with him yet.
"Paul? What? What are you doing here? Didn't you stay in Valencia after high school?" you said and he smiled walking up to give you a tight hug like you were the bestest of friends and you just politely hugged him back before moving back.
"I came to Barcelona for a summer break, and wanted to take a chance to apologize for the way I treated you..I was a kid and I realize that now..I've changed Y/n" he said and you felt so uncomfortable first that he was here at all but then that he brought his mother and sister with him probably knowing that they were always so kind to you and you respected them tremendously.
"Um..that' okay. Water under the bridge, it's in the past..How..how did you know where I'm at?" you said and he smiled looking you up and down shamelessly making you that much more uncomfortable.
"You became quite a little celebrity shortie..fan accounts tagged being here to get autographs from footballers and I just used my sources" he said and you wondered if he knew how creepy he sounded.
"No, my BOYFRIEND is a celebrity..I'm just happy to be here with him" you made sure you highlight on the fact that you were no longer single and that this visit was uncalled for.
"Right, the Golden Boy Pablo Gavi...but come on, he is a famous footballer, you are surely one of many in his house shortie" Paul smirked and you felt like slamming door into his face for disrespecting you yet again, looks like people can't change after all!
"Would we be able to come in?? I'm parched from how hot it is outside??" his mother interrupted my thinking and you knew this was the wrong time and that you didn't want him anywhere near you again but the lady was older and you couldn't get yourself to refuse letting them come inside.
Belen helped his mom and sister to the kitchen offering them some water seeing that they were both sweaty and tired probably from walking on the sun.
"Nice house shortie! You got yourself a cash cow!" he said looking around Pablo's family house and you felt disgusted that he just assumed that's why you were with Pablo.
"This is Pablo's family's house...um we live in a small apartment across from Camp Nou" you said in your defense not knowing why you were even trying to defend yourself to someone like this.
A bell rang interrupting your thoughts and Paul said he will make himself at home which made your stomach flip wishing he could just leave.
You opened the door to Pedri, Ansu, Ferran and Sira, and Rafa and Taia looking confused that you were not happy but worried instead.
"Hey, amiga. Everything alright?? Don't tell me Gavi burned the grill?" Ansu said and you gave him a weak smile saying that everything is fine.
"If someone messed with our hija, Imma beat his ass!" Rafa said while Taia hugged you and you smiled knowing that they always called you their 'fake daughter' because of how often you babysit for them and how kind you are to help Taia while being pregnant.
"Here for you to talk always" Pedri reminded you and you thanked him welcoming the all into the garden swallowing hard when you saw Paul talking to Pablo by the grill. What the hell was he telling him!?
"Um, I'm sorry for not introducing you cariño..this is Paul..um he came to visit Barcelona with his family..and..um" Pablo noticed that you were nervous knowing the whole story himself about this guy who did nothing short of disrespecting his girl and mistreating her.
"He's welcome to stay if he wishes, no worries mi princesa linda..let's go get our friends drinks huh? Excuse us, man" Pablo kissed you in reassurance and you loved that it was in front of Paul shutting him up for good.
Throughout the night, the Gavira house became a true little fiesta, with all the players including the best coach in the word (Xavi Hernandez) singing and dancing all together.
Pablo was sitting besides Pedri chatting about the rest of the season, and you noticed Paul from the corner of your eyes staring at your ass while his mother and sister (bless their soul) were really kind and talked to Pablo's parents.
You walked to your boyfriend feeling very uncomfortable that anybody but him was looking you like that, sitting on his leg while his arms wrapped protectively around you and Pedri asked if he should leave playfully.
"Shut up Pepi!" you messed up his hair making them both laugh not expecting to hear "which one do you want shortie??" from Paul that made everyone uncomfortable once again before leaving to get another drink like he was invited.
"Um..no..she is like a hermanita to me" Pedri quickly said feeling attacked and not wanting his friend to ever think he would do something like that not to mention that everyone here knew that you were in love with Pablo and that you would never hurt each other.
"When will he leave???" you laid your head on Pablo's shoulder while he was giving the guy death glares hating him for ruining this night for his girl and for everyone else.
Pablo was raised to respect everyone who comes into his home and he doesn't have it in him to throw someone out he invited to stay no matter how badly he wanted to do just that. Not to mention that the douchebag on purpose brought his family to make this whole thing as complicated as possible.
"Pablo! Y/n! Can you come here queridos??" Belen said and the two of you walked to the group of older people sitting on the couches talking with Paul's family.
Pablo sat down on the open chair as his mom gave him a look (she raised a gentleman) but when she saw he was pulling you onto his lap, she smiled at the both of you.
"Señora said you were getting engaged to her son in high school?" Pablo's dad said and both you and Pablo said "what!?" at the same exact time.
"He kept saying he was going to marry her after school..and I thought it was going to happen..I would have been so happy to have her as my daughter in law" woman spoke truly oblivious of all the things her son did to you being fed only lies by him.
"She would be best sister in law!" his little sister grabbed your hand and you smiled at the kid knowing it's not her fault and that this whole situation was orchestrated by that manipulative liar who was getting drunk at the bar now.
"Is this true?" Pablo whispered to you and you were shocked that he could even consider that you would not tell him something so big about your past when you promised to always be honest with one another.
"Of course not Pablo! I don't know what he said to them..but I never wanted to marry him and we were never engaged" you said but Pablo was so sick of this whole thing slowly getting up and excusing himself.
"Pablo!" you called after him but he didn't turn around making you sit down with tearful eyes hating that Paul could still ruin things in your life like this.
"Hey, don't cry..Pablo is impulsive, you know that but he doesn't love anyone like he loves you..he believes you hermanita" Aurora came to hug you and you did your best not to cry knowing you needed to set things straight with everyone.
"Señora, I don't know what Paul told you..but we were never engaged and he did not treat me well..he even cheated on me with many other girls..slapped me once and never let me be happy..I was never going to marry your son and I think he wanted to get back at me for leaving him which is why he brought you here..lied to you..and used my respect towards you to break up my relationship" you said to the lady who was in utter shock at your words.
"Mi hija pobresita, I am very sorry señora..I know you must be a lovely lady but I am going to ask you to take your son and leave my house. This is a private party and we don't want to cause any trouble" Pablo's dad was by your side kissing the top of your head reassuring you that everyone believed you and that you were no longer alone.
"Too late papi.." Rora said pointing at the bar as everyone turned to look at what was the commotion about.
When Pablo came to the bar, Lewy sat besides him giving him a beer while asking what got his so riled up. He opened up to the older man who reminded him that there are self centered people in the world who are only happy when they make other people miserable.
"I don't want to imagine her being anybody else's wife but mine Lewa.." Pablo admitted taking a large sip of beer feeling the man's hand on his shoulder.
"And I know that she only wants to be Mrs. Pablo Gavira.." Lewa said seeing Pablo smiling lightly thinking about your future and seeing you in that white dress before him.
"Pablo..Paul..close enough" and those words made all hell break loose when Pablo grabbed his collar and pinned him angrily against the bar while everyone watched.
"Pablo!" his father rushed asking all the women to move back while all the guys pulled the two boys apart but not before each had a chance to throw a few punches.
When everything calmed down and Paul's family was escorted out by Belen together with him, you went to Pablo's bedroom where he sat on his bed inspecting a cut on his cheek.
"Hola..can I come in?" you said and he looked up at you with tearful eyes while nodding his head as you sat on his lap hugging him tightly.
"I'm sorry cariño..I shouldn't have let them come inside..I promise that he lied..there is only one man I ever thought about marrying and that's you.." you spoke tears finally escaping your eyes wetting his shirt and he pulled you close letting his figners dry your tears softly.
"I believe you princesa..and I'm sorry for losing my temper..again" he said knowing that you must have been terrified when the fight broke having bad memories about Paul getting violent.
"I'm just glad he didn't hurt you badly.." you said touching his cut inspecting how deep it was but thankfully in was only superficial.
"I'm okay linda..don't worry about me..and this is the first time I fought for you.." he smirked and you rolled your eyes at his comment taking some gauze to clean up some of the dried up blood.
"Ouch!" he said and you moved the gauze looking into his playful smile chuckling yourself now that the whole situation was over.
"Lewa said you talked about me being your wife??" you said and he nodded proudly looking at your lips yearningly having missed them in the last half an hour.
"Give me besitos linda..I deserve them after fighting for my future wife" he said smartly and you chuckled nodding your head before leaving down and placing your lips onto his careful not to touch his cut.
"We should head back down and join the others cariño??" you said after a few minutes of making out that ended up with you laying on his bed and him hovering above you.
"But you are all mine when we get home princesita??" he said and you blushed nodding your head in agreement before the two of you headed downstairs to re-join the party being welcomed by a large applause.
"Can I just say a few words?" Belen said and everyone went quite while Pablo's arms wrapped around you.
"Having this beautiful angel join our family is such a blessing for the Gavira home. My son is a good man he will treat you right, and you love him more every day..oh and you are only my future daughter in law! Cheers!" Belen cheered and everyone laughed making Pablo blush and you kissed his red cheeks cheering with everyone.
"Yo te quiero cariño.." you whispered after taking a sip of wine and he smiled nodding his head leaning down to place his lips to your lovingly.
"Yo tambien the quiero mucho princesa" he said into the kiss resting his forehead against yours feeling like the luckiest guy on the planet <33
Hope you liked! I know it's different but I did my best to make it unique!

Hey, I just graduated
Tumblr media
…………………………………..
(May 20, 2019)
Today is the day I graduate! I am so excited! I’m graduating from Ohio State University. I loved my time here. I met someone great people, built the best relationships, and will have memories that will last a lifetime.
I put my dress and heels on, made sure my hair and makeup looked perfect then grabbed my cap and gown and closed my dorm room door. I headed to the courtyard where my fellow classmates will be waiting to make our way into the stadium where the ceremony was being held. My whole family was here! My parents, my brother and sister, The Burrows, and my grandparents. Joe couldn’t make it sadly because he had a special event for LSU that was mandatory or something. I’m not really sure but I’m definitely sad he’s not here to celebrate with me.
A couple minutes later we headed into the stadium. It was packed! I quickly noticed my family and the Burrows. They waved as I waved back.
The ceremony was only two hours long. I made my way up on the podium to get my diploma and quickly made my way back down to sit. After the ceremony was done I made my way to our big lawn we have where all the families will be waiting for there kids. I searched through the sea of people until I found my family.
“Mom!”- you
“Y/n! Omg I’m so proud of you!” -Your mom said pulling you into a hug
“Thanks mom.”- you smiled
“Hey sweetie!”- your dad
“Dad!”- you pulled him into a hug
“So proud of you, my sweet girl.”- your dad
“Thanks dad!” -You
I noticed the burrows out of the corner of my eye coming up to us.
“Robin!”- you
“Y/n! Omg so proud of you sweetheart!”- Robin pulled you into a hug
“Thank you!”- you
“Hey kiddo!”- Jimmy
“Hey,Jimmy!”- you pulled him into a hug
“Proud of you, y/n.”- Jimmy
“Thanks!”- you
Turns out joes brothers came to! Dan and Jamie have known me ever since I was a little girl. They are way older than Joe and I. I gave them a big hug and told them thanks for coming.
“Oh, we have a little surprise for you, You know as a graduation gift!”- Dan
“You guys didn’t have to get me anything.”- you chuckled
“It’s not what we got you it’s who we got you!”- Jamie
“What?”- you
Jamie stepped back to reveal someone I never expected to see. Joe. My boyfriend who I loved so deeply was right in front of me.
“JOEY?!”- you
“Hey, there champ!”- joe picked you up and spun you around
“Omg! I can’t believe you are here!”- you said as he put you down with his arms still around you
“Well, I might have lied about that whole mandatory thing so I could surprise you!”- joe
“What! You are such an ass sometimes, you know that?”- you laugh
“Oh cmon, don’t say it’s wasn’t the best surprise ever!”- joe
“It is pretty great, best surprise ever!”- you
“Good! Now let me kiss you.”- joe
Joe pulled me in for a passionate kiss. His hands on my waist as my hands were cupping his face. As I pulled away from him my smile got even bigger then it was two seconds ago.
“I love you, so much.”- you
“I love you more, baby.”- joe
We both laughed and turned around to talk to our families.
———————————
It was around 7pm and everyone was out for dinner to celebrate me graduating! We had dinner at this cute Italian place that has an amazing outdoor rooftop with beautiful views of Columbus.
I was talking to Robin when I noticed Joe left the table.
“Hey, where did Joe go?”- you
“Oh, I think he stepped outside. You know he doesn’t really like crowds.”- Robin
It was pretty loud and crowded for an Italian restaurant.
“Oh ok, let me go check on him.”- you
“Ok, sweetie!”- robin
I grabbed my champagne and joes too and headed outside to the rooftop. There were some people, not a lot. Joe was looking out and had his arms rest in the top of the shorten wall surrounding the roof. I think he heard my heels click clack on the floor because he turned around before I even said anything.
“Hey.”- you
“Hi.”- joe smiled
“This is for you, our favorite.”- you smiled
“Thanks!”- joe took the glass
“You didn’t have to come out. I want you to celebrate.”- joe
“It’s ok Joe, I wanted to come see if you were ok. I know crowds aren’t your favorite. And the only person I want to celebrate with is you.”- you
Joe took his left arm and wrapped it around my shoulder pulling me into him.
“I love you y/n, and you did awesome today! I’m so proud of you.”- joe kissed your head
I looked up at him
“Thank you Joey, I love you too.”- you kissed his lips
“I have a question for you.”- joe
“Okay, what is it?”- you
“Will you move in with me?”- joe
“Joe I wou-”- you
“I understand if you don’t, but I want to wake up next to you every morning and see your beautiful face and kiss you goodnight. I can’t even imagine not coming home and you not being there with me in Louisiana. And if I go to the bengals I want you there too. So I understand if you don’t want to but-”- joe
“JOE! I will move in with you!”- you
“You..you will?”- joe
“YES! I would love to wake up next to you and kiss you goodnight and come and be there for you after a long day of practice or a tiring game. I will be there.”- you smiled
“Yay!”- joe
Joe picked me up and spun me around then put me back down. His arms still around me.
“I can’t wait to see you up in the stands when I play.”- joe
“I can’t wait to see you on that field!”- you
I pulled him in for a kiss.
“Love ya, burrow.”- you
“Love you more.”- joe
“Not possible.”- you smiled

Veins of Violet
Logan Howlett x Fem!Reader
Part 12: Sleeping beauty

A/N: Nothing- just enjoy!

8.6k words
Logans POV
I held her close, stroking her face, cradling her limp body in my arms. Everything around us was charred and broken, reduced to ashes. Laura sat beside me, absently poking at her shoes with a stick, but all I could focus on was Violet. I kept calling her name, urging her to wake up, but she wasn't responding.
"I think we need to go," Laura said, her voice heavy with exhaustion. "She might not wake up." We'd been sitting here for what felt like an eternity, trying to get Violet to open her eyes. As I glanced at Laura, something gnawed at me, something I needed answers to."Why were you helping Strucker?" I asked, my voice low, barely keeping the anger in check. I needed to know why she was with that bastard, but it took everything in me to hold back the rage simmering beneath the surface.Laura looked at me, tears welling up in her eyes, but she blinked them away quickly. She cleared her throat before speaking, and I could see the guilt written all over her face."Talk," I growled, my patience hanging by a thread. "I need to know why you did it."
Laura hesitated, the weight of the question bearing down on her, and I felt my grip tighten around Violet as I waited for her to answer.
"They found out where Violet worked, and they knew I was connected to her. For a month, I felt like someone was following me. Then, one day, when I was alone at the flower shop, Strucker came in and handed me a photo. It was of my foster dad—shot in the head. He said if I didn't help him, he'd kill my mom and brother too." She paused, her voice shaking. "I loved Violet like a sister, but they were my family, and I couldn't let anything happen to them. So I complied. I helped track where Violet lived, made it easy since she trusted me. But then I met you, and I wanted out. That's when Strucker killed my brother. He had them hostage at some unknown warehouse, so I couldn't ask anyone for help. He threatened to blow her to pieces if I did. I had to save my mom...she's the only one I have left, and—"
"You have me," I interrupted, my voice rough but filled with sympathy.
"But I betrayed you," she said, her voice cracking. "And now I have no idea where my mother is, and Violet is unconscious because of me."
"I know," I said softly, my voice gruff with understanding. "But you had no choice. And I know how it feels when you don't have a choice."
We sat in silence after that, the weight of her words hanging heavy in the air. There was nothing more to say—no words that could make this right. But I wasn't going to hold her responsible for something she couldn't control.
After a few moments, we decided it was time to find somewhere that could help Violet. As we stood up, the sound of engines filled the air, and I looked up to see a jet slowly descending. It was big, black, and all too familiar. My heart skipped a beat as it landed—sleek and powerful, just as I remembered it.
It was the X-Men jet.
Two figures emerged from the jet, and as they approached, their faces became clear. The first was Storm, her familiar gray hair styled in the same pixie cut that hadn't changed at all. Beside her was Hank—Beast. He looked a bit younger than I remembered, but the glasses were the same, and his scrawny body was the same as the other Hank.
As they walked toward us, Storm's eyes widened in shock. "Logan?" she said, disbelief clear in her voice. "You're alive?"
I met her gaze and shook my head slightly. "I'm not the Logan you think I am," I replied. "I'm from a different universe."
Their expressions shifted from shock to confusion. I could see the questions forming in their minds, but before they could ask, I added, "I know. I'm still getting used to it myself." Hank adjusted his glasses, his eyes narrowing as he processed what I'd said. "A different universe, huh?" he mused, a hint of curiosity in his voice. "So, I guess my multiverse theory was true after all."
I couldn't help but smirk at his remark—Hank's always been a nerd. But curiosity got the better of me. "How did you know we were even here?" I asked, glancing down at Violet's limp body, my concern for her outweighing everything else.
"Charles felt an intense amount of power here," Hank explained, his tone serious. "He told us to come check it out. But I never would have guessed you were here." "Well, it's good you came because we need your help," I said, my voice edged with urgency.
"We've been here for an hour, and she still hasn't woken up."
"Alright, let's get her onto the jet so I can check her vitals," Hank said, his voice calm but determined.
I nodded in agreement, carefully lifting Violet into my arms. Together, we all walked toward the jet, the weight of the situation pressing down on me with every step.
As Storm piloted the jet, Hank was busy checking Violet's vitals, monitoring her heartbeat with focused precision. Laura and I sat back, watching anxiously. I couldn't take my eyes off Violet, the worry gnawing at me.
Noticing how tense I was, Laura reached out and placed her hand on mine. The unexpected touch made me flinch, but I didn't pull away. Instead, I let her hand stay there, a small comfort in the midst of the chaos.
After a few tense moments, Laura finally spoke up, her voice barely above a whisper. "Do you know when she's going to wake up?"
Hank glanced at her, his expression serious. "No, I don't. But when we get to the school, we can take a better look at her in my lab."
Laura furrowed her brow, clearly puzzled. "School?" she echoed, the confusion evident in her voice. Hank offered a small, reassuring smile. "Yes, the school. It's a place for people like us—mutants. We train there, learn to control our powers, and live together. It's called Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters."
Laura's eyes widened slightly as she absorbed the information. "A school... for mutants?"
"Exactly," Hank confirmed, his tone gentle but inquisitive. "What's your name, if you don't mind me asking? And... are you a mutant?"
Laura hesitated, glancing at me before answering. "My name's Laura," she said softly. "And yes, I'm a mutant."
Hank nodded, his expression thoughtful. "Well, Laura, you're in good company. We'll do everything we can to help your friend, I promise."
I looked at Laura with a small smile, a flicker of hope stirring within me. She was tough, like me, but there was a vulnerability in her eyes that reminded me of what it was like to find a place where you belong. I couldn't help but think that she might like the school, just as I had in my world. It was a place that offered more than just training; it was a place that gave people like us a sense of family.
It took about an hour to reach the school, which made sense once I found out we were in Serbia.  I couldn't shake the mix of anticipation and anxiety building inside me. I kept glancing at Violet, hoping she'd wake up, but she remained unconscious. Laura stayed close, her hand occasionally brushing mine, offering silent support.
Charles approached me, his eyes locking onto mine with a mix of surprise and understanding. "Logan," he said, his voice calm but carrying the weight of years. "I never imagined I'd see you again."
I nodded, the corners of my mouth twitching into a small, weary smile. "I'm not the Logan you remember, Charles. I'm from a different universe." The words felt strange, even after having said them before, but Charles took them in stride.
"I see," he replied, his tone contemplative. "The multiverse theory—Hank was always convinced it was possible. It seems he was right."
He paused, looking toward the medical room where Violet was being examined. "She's important to you, isn't she?"
"More than I can explain," I admitted, my voice rough with emotion. "She's been through hell, and now she's here... like this, because of Strucker."
Charles nodded slowly, absorbing my words. "We'll do everything we can to help her, Logan. I promise you that. You're not alone in this."
Hearing those words from Charles brought a small sense of relief, a reminder that even in this different world, there were still people who had my back. I leaned back in the chair, the tension in my muscles easing just a bit, as I waited for any news about Violet. As Charles looked over at me, his gaze shifted to the young woman sitting beside me. He studied her for a moment, his eyes narrowing slightly as if he was piecing something together.
"And who might this be?" Charles asked gently, his curiosity evident.
"This is Laura," I replied, glancing at her with a mix of pride and protectiveness. "She's... well, she's like me."
Charles raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Like you? A mutant?"
"Yeah," I confirmed. "She's got claws, healing... the whole package."Charles looked at Laura with a soft, understanding smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Laura. You're welcome here, just as Logan is."
Laura met his gaze with a mix of wariness and curiosity, clearly unsure of what to make of the situation. But she nodded slightly in acknowledgment, her hand still resting on mine. I could tell she was nervous, but there was a flicker of hope in her eyes—maybe she was beginning to believe that this place could be a new start for her.
----
After what felt like an eternity, the door to the medical room finally opened, and Hank stepped out. Laura and I quickly stood up, the tension palpable between us. My heart pounded in my chest as I searched Hank's face for any sign of what he might say.
Hank approached us, his expression serious but not without a hint of reassurance. "She hasn't woken up yet," he began, and I felt a cold knot tighten in my stomach. Laura's grip on my arm tightened, but she stayed silent, waiting for him to continue.
"But," Hank added, glancing between the two of us, "we were able to get some readings from the scan. It looks like she may have experienced some form of memory loss. There's some irregular activity in the parts of her brain responsible for memory retention and recall."
"Memory loss?" I echoed, struggling to process what that meant. "How bad is it?"Hank sighed, clearly trying to tread carefully. "It's hard to say for sure without her being awake, but it's possible that she could have lost some recent memories. We won't know the extent until she regains consciousness."
I felt a wave of frustration and helplessness wash over me. Violet had already been through so much, and now this? "Is there anything we can do?" I asked, my voice rough with emotion.
"For now, we just need to let her rest and monitor her closely," Hank replied. "We'll do everything we can to help her recover. But you should be prepared for the possibility that she might not remember everything—especially recent events."
I nodded, swallowing hard as I tried to keep my emotions in check. Laura's hand remained on my arm, her presence grounding me as I tried to absorb what Hank was telling us.
Hank gestured to a young woman standing nearby. "Micah, my assistant, can take you both upstairs to grab something to eat," he offered, his voice gentle, understanding the toll this was taking on us.
I shook my head, my jaw tight with determination. "I'm staying here until she wakes up," I said firmly. I couldn't bring myself to leave Violet's side, not now, not when she needed me.
But before I could say anything more, Laura spoke up. "No, let's go," she insisted, her tone softer but firm. She looked at me with those intense eyes, a mixture of concern and resolve. "You need to eat, and so do I. We'll be stronger when she wakes up if we take care of ourselves."
I hesitated, torn between my instinct to stay with Violet and the logic of Laura's words. I knew she was right, but it was hard to admit. Finally, I sighed, nodding reluctantly. "Alright," I said, though the decision didn't come easy. "But I'm comin right back."
Laura gave me a small, encouraging smile, and together, we followed Micah out of the room, my mind still with Violet even as we walked away.
As I walked through the school, everything felt strangely familiar yet different at the same time. It was trippy, like I was caught between two worlds. Memories from my past started flooding in, but I quickly pushed them back, not wanting to get lost in what was and what could never be again.
I glanced at Laura, and I could see the awe in her eyes as she took in the sight of so many kids like her—mutants—who didn't have to hide like she did before. It made me feel relieved, knowing that she was starting to feel comfortable here. I'm new to this whole dad thing, but I'm going to try my hardest to make sure she feels safe and secure.
As we walked into the kitchen, I suddenly froze. Two familiar faces were staring back at me, their expressions a mix of shock and disbelief. The speedster with the big mouth looked at me like he'd seen a ghost, which, in a way, I guess I was in this instance. Beside him stood Raven, her eyes wide with surprise.
Peter, was the first to break the silence. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold up!" he said, zipping around me in a blur before coming to a stop right in front of my face. "Did someone just hit the rewind button on life, or did I accidentally break the space-time continuum again? Because last I checked, you were... well, let's just say you were taking a really long nap."Raven, standing beside him, crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow, her expression cool but clearly baffled. "Logan, is that really you?" she asked, her voice calm, but I could see the disbelief in her eyes. "We thought you were gone for good."
I sighed, already feeling the weariness of having to explain this again. "Yeah, it's me, but I'm not the Logan you knew. I'm from a different universe." The words felt like they were wearing out, even as I said them.
Peter's eyes widened even more, and he let out a low whistle. "Different universe? Man, that's some serious sci-fi stuff right there. Do you, like, have a doppelgänger running around somewhere? Or maybe you've got a secret twin? Please tell me there's a multiverse where I have an infinite supply of Twinkies!" Raven shot Peter a look that said, "Seriously?" before turning back to me, her expression softening a bit. "This is... a lot to take in, Logan. But I'm glad you're here, even if it's not the same you."
I gave a half-smile, appreciating her steady presence. "Yeah, it's been a lot to take in for me too."
Peter grinned, clearly still processing the whole "different universe" thing in his own way. "Well, whatever universe you're from, it's good to see you, man. This place is way too quiet without you around."
"Quiet, huh?" I muttered, glancing at Raven, who smirked at the idea of this place ever being quiet. Peter's energy was enough to keep the noise level high, universe aside.
As we all settled into the moment, I could feel the tension ease just a bit, even if the situation was still surreal.
As we sat down to eat, Peter zipped around the kitchen, throwing together sandwiches for Laura and me with his usual speed. Even in this universe, he still managed to give me whiplash with how fast he moved.
"Turkey and cheese, coming right up!" Peter announced, sliding the sandwiches in front of us with a grin. "And don't worry, I kept it simple. No surprises... this time."
Laura eyed the sandwich cautiously, but she didn't say anything, just took a small bite. I couldn't help but smirk, shaking my head at Peter's usual antics. "You're still a whirlwind, aren't ya?"Peter flopped into a chair across from us, already halfway through his own sandwich. "Hey, speed's my thing, right? Gotta stick with what I'm good at," he said with a laugh. Then, with a curious look, he turned to me. "So, Logan, how's it feel to be back here? Must be pretty trippy for you huh, huh."
I shrugged, trying to play it cool, but the truth was, it was strange. Everything looked familiar, yet not quite the same. I glanced over at Raven, who was quietly eating her sandwich, watching the conversation with an amused smile.
"Yeah, it's weird," I admitted. "But, you know... some things are really different. Like you," I added, nodding toward Raven. "In my world, you were... well, let's just say we weren't exactly on the same side."
Raven raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued by the idea. "Is that so?" she said, her tone light, but there was a hint of curiosity there. "I guess I wasn't as nice to you over there?"
I smirked, taking a bite of my sandwich. "Not exactly. It's just... strange, seeing you here, being... well, nice."
Peter looked between us, clearly enjoying the exchange. "So, wait—what was she like in your universe? All bad and scary?" he asked, leaning in as if he were about to hear a juicy story.
"Something like that," I replied, keeping it vague. There were things about my world I didn't feel like diving into, especially not now. But seeing Raven like this, it was a reminder of how different things could be.
Raven just chuckled softly, shaking her head. "Well, I'm glad I'm on the right side this time, at least as far as you're concerned."
As the conversation flowed, it struck me how surreal it all was—being here, with familiar faces in unfamiliar roles. But despite the differences, there was a sense of ease creeping in, like maybe this place could still offer something I needed. As we continued eating, Raven glanced between me and Laura, curiosity written all over her face. "So, how do you two know each other?" she asked, pointing her sandwich at us casually. For a moment, there was an awkward silence as Laura and I both hesitated, not quite sure how to explain. Laura started to say something, but then stopped, and I could see her struggling to find the right words.
"She's my..." I began, trailing off as I tried to figure out how to phrase it.
Laura, equally unsure, added, "He's my..." and then she just shrugged, looking at me for help. Finally, I took a deep breath and decided to just lay it out. "She's my kid," I said, my voice firm but a little uncertain, as if saying it out loud would make it more real.
Raven's eyes widened, and she blinked, clearly taken aback. "Your daughter?" she repeated, her tone a mix of disbelief and surprise.
Peter, who had been taking a big bite of his sandwich, nearly choked as he tried to swallow quickly, his eyes bulging. "Wait, what?!" he exclaimed, pointing at Laura. "She's your kid? Like... your actual kid?"
"Yeah," I said, meeting their shocked gazes. "I found out not too long ago. It's... complicated."
Peter let out a low whistle, leaning back in his chair as he processed the information. "Man, that's wild. So, what, you're like... a dad now? In this universe or the other one?"
"Both, I guess," I replied, a bit of a smirk on my face despite the awkwardness. "It's been... an adjustment."
Raven shook her head slightly, still looking between the two of us. "Wow, Logan, I didn't see that one coming," she said, clearly trying to wrap her head around the idea. "You, a dad. Huh That's... something."
Laura glanced up at me, her expression a little uncertain but also relieved that the truth was out. I gave her a small nod, hoping to convey that we'd figure this out together.
Peter, still looking like he was trying to solve a puzzle, finally broke into a grin. "Well, this just got a whole lot more interesting. So, do you guys do father-daughter claw sharpening on weekends or what?"
I couldn't help but chuckle at his attempt to lighten the mood. "Something like that," I muttered, shaking my head. Despite the surprise and the awkwardness, it felt good to be honest about it, even if it was still sinking in for all of us.
A few moments passed after we finished eating, and the reality of the situation started to settle in. I realized I needed to call Wade and fill him in on everything that had happened. I turned to Peter, who was finishing off his 3rd sandwich.
"Hey, you got a phone I can use?" I asked.
Peter, always quick on the uptake, pulled out his phone and handed it over. "Sure thing, old man. Who you calling, anyway?"
I smirked as I took the phone. "Wade," I replied, dialing the number that was unfortunately burned into my brain. He'd made damn sure I'd remember it—kept saying it was my lifeline in case I got lost, like I was a damn dog or something.
As the phone rang, a sudden realization hit me. "Oh shit... his dog," I muttered under my breath. Raven, who had been quietly observing, raised an eyebrow. "His dog?"
"Yeah," I said, rubbing my temples. "Wade asked us to take care of his dog while he and Vanessa are out of town. I've been a bit... preoccupied with everything going on. Haven't even thought about the dog since we got here."
Peter chuckled, clearly enjoying the chaos. "Sounds like you're really embracing that whole dad role—taking care of kids and pets now, huh?"
"Don't push it," I muttered, waiting for Wade to pick up. But even as I said it, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt. Wade's dog was probably causing all kinds of trouble back at the place.
When the call finally connected, I could already hear Wade's voice on the other end, likely mid-sentence about something completely ridiculous. But before he could launch into one of his usual rants, I cut him off.
"Wade, listen," I said, my voice firm. "We've got a situation."
I told him what had happened and that we left his dog in the apartment but before I could even get another word in, Wade's voice exploded through the phone. "WHAT THE FUCK, LOGAN?! You forgot about my dog? My sweet, innocent little girl? Do you have any idea what kind of mayhem she could be causing right now? Vanessa's going to be so pissed if anything happens to her!"
I pulled the phone away from my ear for a second, grimacing at the volume of his shouting. "Wade, calm down," I tried to say, but he was already on a full-blown rant.
"I trusted you with my precious little furball! I gave you one simple job—keep her alive! And what do you do? You go off on some crazy mission and forget all about her like she's yesterday's trash! She could be tearing up your apartment, peeing on your bed, or even worse—getting lonely!"
"Wade!" I practically growled, cutting him off. "We almost got killed. Violet's in the medical wing, unconscious, and we're dealing with some serious shit over here. Your dog was the last thing on my mind!"
There was a brief pause on the other end, and for a second, I thought maybe he'd realized the gravity of the situation. But then, in typical Wade fashion, he responded, "Okay, but seriously, Logan, priorities! Violet's a badass, she'll be fine, but my dog... she's just a delicate little bundle of chaos! What if she's scared? What if she's lonely? What if she's chewing up your favorite pair of boots right now?"
I let out a frustrated sigh, rubbing my forehead. "listen you dumb fuck, I'll check on your dog, alright? But I need you to focus here. We've got bigger problems than some chewed-up shoes."
"Fine, fine," Wade grumbled, though I could still hear the worry in his voice. "But you better not let anything happen to her, or I'm gonna make you dog-sit for a month. And trust me, you don't want that kind of responsibility."
"Noted," I replied dryly, finally getting him to calm down—at least somewhat. "Now, listen, there's more I need to tell you about what happened. Strucker was involved, and it's not over yet."
Wade's tone shifted, finally catching the seriousness in my voice. "Strucker? Fuck... alright, fill me in."
After I filled Wade in on everything that had been going on—the encounter with Strucker, Violet's condition, and the mess we were in—he fell silent for a moment, which was rare for him.
"Alright," he finally said, his voice more serious than usual. "Looks like I'm gonna have to cut this little mother-in-law reunion short. Vanessa and I will head back to the mansion, pick up my dog, and help you guys out. Can't leave my little girl hanging, or you, for that matter."
"You sure?" I asked, half-expecting him to make some joke about avoiding his mother-in-law.
"Yes, I'm sure peanut," Wade quipped, the usual humor creeping back into his voice. "And besides, I can't let you have all the fun. We'll be there as soon as we can."
"Thanks," I muttered, genuinely appreciating the backup, even if it came with Wade's usual chaos.
"Just make sure my dog's still in one piece when I get there," Wade added, his tone lightening again. "And tell her I'm coming for her, with lots of treats."
"Yeah, yeah," I replied, shaking my head. "Just get here quick."
With that, I hung up the phone, handing it back to Peter, who was still watching me with that curious expression he always had when things got interesting.
"So, looks like the cavalry's coming," I said, feeling a little more at ease knowing Wade was on his way.
---
It was later in the afternoon, and I left Laura back at the mansion while I headed to the apartment to grab a few things. As I walked in through the blasted door, the familiar scent of Violet hit me like a wave. It was a mix of her perfume and something uniquely her, and it made my chest tighten with a longing I hadn't realized I'd been holding back. I missed her more than I could put into words.
Shaking off the emotions, I focused on my task: finding Dog Pool. I moved through the apartment, searching each room until I finally found her under our bed, happily gnawing on one of Violet's shoes. A little growl of frustration escaped me as I crouched down to grab the dog.
"She's going to kill you when she wakes up," I muttered, half to the dog and half to myself, as I picked her up. The dog looked up at me with those innocent eyes, clearly unbothered by the destruction she was causing.
I let out a sigh, deciding to let it go for now. There were more important things to worry about. After stashing the chewed-up shoe somewhere out of sight, I quickly gathered some clothes for both me and Laura, tossing them into a bag. I found my phone that was stuffed in the couch cushions. Right next to it was Violet's gem bracelet. I quickly put it in my pocket as a reminder of her even though she's always on my mind.
With Dog Pool securely tucked under one arm and the bag slung over my shoulder, I walked out the door, casting one last glance around the apartment. It felt empty without Violet here, a stark reminder of everything that had happened. I closed the remaining of the door behind me, hoping that the next time I walked through it, it would be with Violet by my side, fully awake and ready to tear into Wade's dog for her shoe.
-- Night had fully settled by the time I made it back inside the mansion. The halls were quieter now, the usual bustle of the day replaced by a more subdued atmosphere. The only sounds were the soft hum of the building and the faint echoes of footsteps from distant rooms. As I walked through the dimly lit corridors, the weight of everything that had happened today pressed down on me. Dog Pool, still nestled in my arm, had finally settled down, her small, rhythmic breathing a steady comfort in the otherwise silent night.
When I reached the medical wing, the lights were low, and the soft beeping of monitors was the only indication of life in the room. I stepped inside, immediately spotting Laura sitting by Violet's bedside, her eyes focused intently on the woman who had become so important to both of us.
Laura glanced up as I entered, her expression a mix of worry and exhaustion. "Did you get what you needed?" she asked quietly.
"Yeah," I replied, setting the bag down and carefully placing Dog Pool on the floor. The little dog sniffed around before curling up in a corner, finally deciding to rest.
I walked over to Violet's bedside, taking in the sight of her lying there so still. Her chest rose and fell steadily, but she hadn't stirred since we brought her in. I reached out, gently brushing a strand of hair from her face, feeling a pang of longing mixed with frustration.
"How's she doing?" I asked, though I already knew the answer.
"No change," Laura whispered, her voice barely above a murmur. "But I know she's strong. She'll wake up."
I nodded, hoping Laura was right. I pulled up a chair next to hers, sitting down and leaning forward, my elbows resting on my knees. The room was quiet, the soft glow of the monitors casting a faint light over us.
We sat in silence, the weight of the night pressing down on us as we watched over Violet. The quiet was almost oppressive, the only sounds coming from the faint beeping of the monitors. Laura sat next to me, her eyes fixed on Violet, while I kept my thoughts focused on anything but the worst-case scenarios.
Then, the silence was broken by the soft whoosh of the doors opening. Laura and I both looked up at the same time, and there, entering the room, were Charles and Storm.
Charles rolled in with his usual calm demeanor, his eyes scanning the room before settling on Violet. Beside him, Storm walked with that quiet grace she always had, her presence commanding yet soothing at the same time.
"Logan," Charles greeted me softly, his voice filled with understanding. "Laura."
"Charles, Storm," I replied with a nod, acknowledging them both. Laura offered a small nod as well, her expression cautious but respectful.Charles wheeled himself closer to Violet's bedside, his eyes filled with concern as he observed her condition. "Hank updated me on what's been happening," he said, his tone gentle. "How are you both holding up?"
I glanced at Laura, then back at Charles. "We're managing," I said, though the strain in my voice was clear. "Just waiting for her to wake up."
Storm stepped forward, her gaze soft as she looked down at Violet. "She's seems like a fighter, Logan. She'll wake up."
"I know," I replied, my voice rough. "I just hate this waiting."
Charles nodded, his expression understanding. "Waiting can be the hardest part, but you're doing everything you can by being by her side."
There was a brief silence as Charles studied Violet, his brows furrowing slightly. Then he looked up at me, his eyes thoughtful. "Would you like me to try reaching out to her mind? It might help... or at the very least, we could get some sense of where she is."
I hesitated, the idea of someone probing her mind making me uneasy. But if it could help... I looked at Laura, and she gave me a small nod, her silent way of saying she trusted Charles.
"Alright," I said finally. "Give it a shot."
Charles gave a reassuring nod, then closed his eyes, focusing as he reached out with his mind. The room seemed to grow even quieter, the tension palpable as we all waited to see if he could make any connection with Violet.
Charles POV
As I entered Violet's mind, I found myself standing in a vast, endless expanse of white. The emptiness stretched out in all directions, silent and still. In the distance, I noticed a small house, standing alone against the backdrop of nothingness. It seemed out of place, yet somehow fitting in this strange, mental landscape.
I began walking toward the house, each step echoing softly in the void. When I reached the door, I hesitated for a moment, then pushed it open. Inside, the atmosphere was entirely different—warm, almost comforting. There she was, Violet, sitting in the center of the room, her legs crossed as she floated just above the floor. A soft, purple glow of magic surrounded her, gently pulsing with energy.
Her eyes were closed, but the moment I stepped through the door, they opened. Her gaze met mine, calm yet distant, as if she was both here and somewhere far away."Violet," I said softly, stepping closer. "You need to wake up."
She looked at me with a serene smile, a strange sense of peace in her expression. "Violet is alright," she said, her voice echoing slightly in the empty space. "She just needs to rest."
Before I could respond, she flicked her wrist, and suddenly, an invisible force slammed into me, sending me flying backward. The next thing I knew, I was being expelled from her mind with such force that it made me physically flinch.
Logans POV
I watched Charles intently, my nerves on edge as he entered Violet's mind. The room was dead quiet, the only sound the faint hum of the machines monitoring her condition. Then, suddenly, Charles flinched, his body jolting slightly as if he'd been physically hit. My heart skipped a beat, and I leaned forward, tension tightening in my chest.
A moment later, he opened his eyes, and I could see the strain in them, like whatever he'd just experienced had taken a toll. "Charles?" I asked, my voice rougher than I intended. "What happened? Did you reach her?"
Charles took a breath, steadying himself before speaking. "I did," he said, his tone calm but with an underlying unease. "She's alright, but... she's not ready to wake up yet. She's resting, and it seems she doesn't want to be disturbed."
I felt a mix of relief and frustration at his words. Relief that she was okay, but frustration that she still wasn't coming back to us. "What do you mean she doesn't want to be disturbed?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady. "She's just gonna stay like this?"
Charles looked at me, his expression serious. "She's in a state of deep rest, Logan. Whatever she's been through, something is protecting her. She needs time to recover, and she's chosen to do so in her own way. I tried to reach out, but she... pushed me out."
"Pushed you out?" Laura echoed, her voice laced with concern.
Charles nodded. "Yes, with a significant force. It was clear that she wants to be left alone for now. But she's safe, Logan. That much I can assure you."
I ran a hand through my hair, feeling the weight of the situation settle in. "So we just wait?"
"For now, yes," Charles said gently. "All we can do is give her the time she needs and be here when she's ready to return."
I looked at Violet, her still form lying there, and the helplessness I felt was almost overwhelming. But there was nothing more I could do—nothing but wait and hope that when she was ready, she'd come back to us.
I woke up to the sensation of Dog Pool's tongue on my cheek, her persistent licking pulling me out of sleep. Groaning slightly, I wiped my face and looked over at the clock hanging on the wall. It was 8 a.m., and I could already feel the stiffness in my back from sleeping on the hospital bed. It wasn't exactly the most comfortable place to sleep, but it was the closest bed to Violet, even if she was in a different room.
I stretched, feeling the ache in my muscles as I sat up. Dog Pool wagged her tail, clearly pleased with herself for waking me up. "Alright, alright," I muttered, giving her a quick pat on the head. "Let's see how she's doing."
Laura was upstairs, in one of the rooms with the other kids. I figured it was better for her to be around them, to get some rest in a proper bed, even if I couldn't bring myself to leave Violet's side. At least this way, Laura would have some semblance of normalcy.
I stood up, feeling the stiffness in my joints, and headed for Violet's room. The door was slightly ajar, and as I pushed it open, I saw that Hank was already there, standing by her bedside. He was checking the monitors, his face serious but focused.
"Morning, Hank," I said quietly as I stepped into the room.
Hank glanced up, giving me a small nod. "Morning, Logan. I was just going over her vitals again."
I moved closer, my eyes immediately going to Violet. She looked peaceful, but there was still no sign of her waking up. The machines around her beeped softly, a constant reminder of the limbo we were all stuck in.
"Any change?" I asked, though I already knew the answer.
"Nothing significant," Hank replied, his tone measured. "Her body's stable, but her mind... it's still in that resting state. She's not ready to come back just yet."
I let out a slow breath, trying to push back the frustration and helplessness that threatened to overwhelm me. "I just want her to wake up," I muttered, more to myself than to Hank.
"I know," Hank said, his voice gentle. "And she will. But whatever she's been through, it's going to take time. Right now, all we can do is be patient and make sure she's surrounded by people who care about her when she does wake up."
I nodded, my gaze never leaving Violet's face. Patience had never been my strong suit, but for her, I'd wait as long as it took.
----
Just as I was settling into the quiet of the room, my phone buzzed in my pocket. I pulled it out and saw Wade's name on the screen. Finally. I answered, and before I could say anything, Wade's voice came through loud and clear.
"Hey, Logan! Just got off the plane—Vanessa and I are on our way to the mansion. Dog Pool better be alive and well, or I'm holding you personally responsible for every single shoe she chews from now on."
I rolled my eyes, a small smirk tugging at the corner of my mouth despite everything. "She's fine, Wade. Just get here."
"On it! We'll be there soon. Prepare the red carpet!" Wade quipped before hanging up.
With Wade and Vanessa on their way, I decided to head to the kitchen for some breakfast. I hadn't eaten since last night, and the gnawing hunger was becoming hard to ignore. As I made my way through the mansion, my mind was still on Violet, but I knew I needed to keep my strength up—for her, and for whatever came next.
When I reached the kitchen, the scent of fresh coffee and something frying on the stove filled the air. I rounded the corner, expecting to find it empty at this hour, but instead, I stopped dead in my tracks.
Standing by the counter, flipping pancakes with a casual ease, was someone I thought I'd never see again. Scott Summers—Mr.Cyclops. He looked up when he heard me enter, and for a moment, both of us just stared at each other, the shock evident on his face as well.
"Logan," Scott finally said, his voice a mix of surprise and something else I couldn't quite place. He gave me a once-over, his gaze lingering on the lines in my face, the graying at my temples. "You're here and... old."
I huffed out a short, humorless laugh. "Yeah, well, you're a dick.
Scott's expression softened, and he nodded. "I Guess I am."
There was a brief, awkward silence as we both stood there, trying to bridge the gap between what was and what is. Eventually, Scott broke the silence, gesturing to the pancakes. "You want some? I was making enough for a small army, anyway."
I hesitated for a second, then nodded. "Sure, why not."
As I sat down at the table, Scott brought over a plate stacked high with pancakes and a mug of coffee. It was strange, sitting here with him like this, after everything. But maybe, in some weird way, it was also what I needed—a reminder that, despite the chaos, some things still made sense.
As I dug into the pancakes, I couldn't help but think about the twisted paths our lives had taken to bring us to this moment. And while I wasn't sure where we stood now, it was good to know that some connections, no matter how strained, could still be there when you needed them.
As I took a bite of the pancakes, Scott leaned against the counter, crossing his arms as he watched me. There was something searching in his gaze, like he was still trying to wrap his head around what he was seeing.
"When they told me you were alive..." he began, then paused, shaking his head slightly as if to correct himself. "Well, I mean, when they told me there was another you, I couldn't believe it."
I looked up at him, swallowing my mouthful of food before replying. "Yeah, trust me, it's been a trip for me too. I'm not exactly the Logan you knew, but... here I am."
Scott nodded, his expression thoughtful. "It's weird, you know? Seeing you here, older, but still... you. Part of me keeps expecting the Logan I remember to walk through the door, full of his usual stubbornness and bravado."
I chuckled softly, shaking my head. "Well, I've still got the stubbornness, if that counts for anything."
Scott allowed himself a small smile, but there was a lingering sadness in his eyes. "It counts for a lot, actually. I never thought I'd get a chance to see you again, even if it's not exactly the same you. But maybe... maybe it's close enough."
I nodded, understanding the weight behind his words. For all the differences, there were still some things that hadn't changed, and maybe that was enough for now.
"Yeah," I said quietly, looking down at the plate of pancakes. "Maybe it is."
We lapsed into a comfortable silence after that, the kind that comes from shared history and mutual respect, even if the details are different. As I continued eating, Scott poured himself a cup of coffee, leaning back against the counter as he sipped it slowly.
"So," he said after a while, breaking the silence, "what's the plan now? With everything going on, I mean."
I sighed, rubbing a hand over my face. "Honestly? Right now, I'm just focused on getting Violet to wake up. After that... we'll see."
Scott nodded again, his expression serious. "Is she your girl friend or something "
I met his gaze, and smirked " Yeah she is." continue with Scott saying something cocky towards Logan
Scott raised an eyebrow, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Well, well, Logan. I didn't think you were the type to settle down. Guess there's a first time for everything, huh?"
I shot him a look, the smirk fading into something more serious. "Yeah, well, I don't need your approval, Summers."
Scott chuckled, crossing his arms over his chest. "Didn't say you did, old man. Just surprised is all. But hey, if she's with you, she must have a thing for grumpy, brooding types. Lucky you."
I narrowed my eyes at him, not in the mood for his usual cocky attitude. "Careful, Summers. I might be from a different universe, but I'm still not above knocking you on your ass if you push it."
Scott held up his hands in mock surrender, the grin still on his face. "Easy there, Wolverine. Just making sure you've still got that edge. Wouldn't want you to get soft now that you've got someone to worry about."
Scott's grin softened, the teasing fading as he gave me a more genuine look. "But in all seriousness Logan. Just... take care of her. Sounds like she's been through Hell."
I nodded, my tone more even. "I will. That's not something you need to worry about."
Scott nodded back, the moment of rivalry giving way to a mutual understanding. "Good."
As I chewed on my food, the thoughts of my past began to creep in, unbidden and unwelcome. Memories of battles, of lost friends, and of Jean. The weight of those memories made the pancakes taste like ash in my mouth. I glanced over at Scott, who was sipping his coffee, his gaze distant.
He must have noticed something in my expression because he looked up at me, eyebrows raised. "What?" he asked, his tone curious but cautious.
I hesitated, the words catching in my throat. Part of me didn't want to bring it up, but the question had been gnawing at me since I got here. Finally, I just spit it out. "Is Jean here... I mean, is she...?"
Before I could finish, Scott cut me off, his voice flat and final. "She's gone, Logan."
The air between us seemed to thicken, heavy with the weight of that simple statement. I looked down at my plate, the memories of Jean from my world flashing through my mind. The love, the loss, the guilt—it was all still there, no matter the universe.
Scott must have sensed where my thoughts were heading because he tried to lighten the mood, though there was a forced edge to his tone. "What, were you trying to steal my girl in your universe, huh?"
I looked up at him, a sad smile tugging at my lips. "She was always your girl, Scott," I replied, the honesty in my voice unmistakable. "But... she died in mine too."
Scott's face softened, the banter falling away as he absorbed my words. "How did she die here?" I asked, the question heavy with the shared pain of loss.
Scott sighed, setting his coffee cup down on the counter. "She sacrificed herself to save all of us. She couldn't control the Phoenix, and in the end, she chose to stop it the only way she knew how."
I nodded slowly, the ache in my chest familiar, even if the details were different. "Sounds like her," I said quietly. "She always put others first."
Scott nodded in agreement, his eyes clouded with old grief. "Yeah... she did."For a moment, we just sat there in silence, both of us lost in our own memories of the woman we'd both loved in different ways, in different worlds. It was a strange kind of bond, one forged in shared loss and the understanding that some things, no matter the universe, were just meant to be.
Eventually, I looked up at Scott, my voice steady. "I'm sorry, Scott."
He met my gaze, and for the first time in a long time, there was a flicker of something like understanding between us. "Me too, Logan. Me too."

Just as I was finishing my breakfast, I heard the unmistakable sound of Wade's voice echoing through the mansion. It wasn't long before he burst into the kitchen, full of his usual energy, with Vanessa following close behind.
"Logan!" Wade shouted, his face lighting up with that familiar, slightly manic grin. Before I could react, he wrapped me in a bear hug that nearly knocked the wind out of me. But, in true Wade fashion, he followed it up with a slap on the shoulder, not entirely playful. "That's for leaving my precious Dog Pool alone, you big, irresponsible lug! You're lucky she didn't redecorate your whole place in the color of destruction!"
I smirked, rubbing my shoulder where he'd slapped me. "She's fine, Wade. More worried about Violet's shoes than anything else."
"Yeah, well, priorities, man!" Wade retorted, though there was a glint of concern in his eyes beneath the humor.
Vanessa stepped forward, offering me a warm hug that I didn't mind at all. There was something comforting about her presence, a calmness that balanced out Wade's chaotic energy. "It's good to see you, Logan," she said softly as she pulled back, her expression turning serious. "Where's Violet? Is she alright?"
I nodded, but the tension in my shoulders must have given away the fact that everything wasn't quite alright. "She's in the medical wing," I replied, my voice a bit strained. "She's stable, but... she hasn't woken up yet."
Vanessa's face softened with concern. "Oh, Logan," she murmured, reaching out to place a reassuring hand on my arm. "I'm so sorry. we'll get through this."
Wade's usual bravado dimmed slightly, and he nodded. "Yeah, we're here now, man. Whatever you need, you got it."
I gave them both a grateful nod, appreciating their support more than I could express. "Thanks. It means a lot."
"Don't mention it," Wade said, though his voice was softer than usual. "Now let's go check on Violet. And maybe, just maybe, we can all figure out a way to get her back on her feet—so she can kill me for that shoe."
Together, we made our way to the medical wing, the weight of the situation heavy on all of us, but the presence of friends making it just a little easier to bear.
We made our way to the room where Violet was resting, and as we stepped inside, I noticed Laura was already there, sitting in a chair by the bedside, casually eating a bowl of cereal. She looked up when we entered, quickly setting the bowl aside and standing up to greet us.
"Hey, Wade. Vanessa," Laura said with a small smile, her tone a bit more relaxed than usual.
Vanessa immediately walked over to her and wrapped her in a warm hug, something Laura wasn't entirely used to, but she didn't pull away. "It's good to see you, Laura," Vanessa said, her voice full of warmth.
Wade gave Laura a quick nod, a flicker of his usual playfulness in his eyes, but he kept his focus mostly on Violet. As they approached the bed, Vanessa's expression turned to one of deep concern, while Wade, ever the joker, couldn't help but make a comment.
"Wow, Violet," Wade said, his voice laced with a mix of humor and genuine concern. "Gotta say, that's one hell of a suit you've got on there. Looks like something straight out of a comic book. Or maybe a sci-fi movie. Either way, I approve."
Vanessa shot him a look, half-amused, half-reproachful. "Wade..."
"What?" Wade shrugged innocently. "I'm just saying, if she wakes up and decides to join a superhero team, she's already got the outfit."
Despite the situation, I couldn't help but smirk at Wade's comment. Leave it to him to find a way to make light of even the most serious situations. But I knew it was his way of dealing with things—humor was his armor, his way of keeping the darkness at bay.
Vanessa gently touched Violet's hand, her concern evident. "We're here, Logan," she said softly, turning to look at me. "Whatever happens, we're with you."
I nodded, feeling the support of those around me. It was a small comfort, but in a situation like this, even small comforts made a big difference.
Wade leaned down a bit closer to Violet, his usual smirk softening into something almost tender. "Alright, Violet," he said quietly, "time to wake up and show us all up. We're not the same without you around to keep us in line."
Vanessa smiled softly at his words, and Laura, still standing nearby, watched with a mix of hope and uncertainty.
All we could do now was wait and hope that Violet would respond, knowing that when she did, she'd be met with all the support and care we could offer.
