the devils moms trip has me thinking about Emma with Lio, Sam with Luca, and Connor with Kailey (I think that’s her name I’m not very sure)

Emma/Lio: The poshest duo for real. Like Lio is matching their outfits together. He's asking his mom what she brought, tailoring his suit selection and accessories to her. It's the Meier way to show up dazzling and expensive. Lio even buys her new bracelets to match his cuff links. He normally doesn't get that fancy, but with mama in town, he has to. Lio loves his mom so much. Getting to share these memories with her means a lot to him especially after his spiral. When his mom is in town, she is center stage and he falls back into the audience, watching her make connections and build friendships with all the mom's. Every one wants her number at the end of the trip and he feels so lucky she's his.

Sam/Luca: Luca "circles" this trip on the calendar every year, especially once he is traded to the Kings. Before, when he was in Minnesota, he spent so much time at his family home. But after he gets traded, it gives him a new perspective on how precious time with his parents can be. He loves getting to spend one on one time with his mom too. She helps him feel grounded and grateful for the life he lives. She's also ridiculously proud of him. She beams at him every time he gets off the ice whether it was a good or bad game. She knows exactly what to say to get him back in better spirits. Or she won't say anything and encourages him to forget about hockey when he needs to. Having her with him and sharing this big piece of his life with her is magical. He wishes it was the mom's trip more than once a year.

Connor/Kailey: Golden retriever son Connor Wood is so ecstatic that this mom is on the trip with him. He introduces her to EVERYONE. Anyone walking by with the team he's like "HAVE YOU MET MY MOM!?!?!" Just so proud to be her kid and loves having her positive, happy energy especially because he is in a bit of a slump. They have good, easy conversations on the trip together and it makes an impact in his play on the ice. Sometimes, Connor needs to be reminded that he is carrying a lot on his shoulders. And he needs to lighten that load at times with his team on and off the ice.

David/Lexi: (OPE!!!!) It takes several years before Lexi is invited on a mom's trip for the Rangers. Not because David doesn't see Lexi as a maternal figure, but because it's tough for him to invite someone else. He misses his mom a lot on these trips and he'd rather stick with the other players who don't have a guest, then be front and center of all that attention. He knows it would re-open that wound about his mom's death. The relationships with his parents were different, so although he invites Nico on the dad's trip, it doesn't feel like it does with his mom. However, as Mack and David are together longer, David heals a lot. Lexi helps with that too in the way she shows up for him as a MIL. She truly embraces David as a son and it make a difference in his life. So, towards the end of his career, David asks Lexi to join him on the trip. It's a BIG deal. HUGE. They are so proud in their picture before getting on the plane. Lexi has tears in her eyes and she's just telling him how much she loves him 🥹

popping in randomly after almost an entire month just to talk non stop about the tsaritsa again everyone sit down.

specifically just thinking about the implications of tsaritsa's ideals originally being about love + the abandonment of those ideals to complete her goal of, presumably, destroying Celestia or whatever she's cooking up. to the point even her people don't love her and I probably don't even remember a time her ideals were of love. now it's all just ice and snow and cold.

Does Livy ever talk to Lucie about how she felt jealous of how close her and Lio were. Like I know Livy wouldn’t say to hurt Lucie. Because I feel like Lucie definitely saw how much it would hurt Livy whenever Lio would just push Livy to the side in favor of being with Lucie.

"Yeah." Lucie shakes her head. "Lio didn't like to share... me?" Lucie finishes with a nose scrunch. "Like we were so bonded growing up as the two oldest and we did so many things together as a family. By the time Livy was old enough to hang with us, Lio was a bit of a brat."

"Yeah, he wanted Lucie to be his sister instead and he made sure I knew it." Savannah gasps.

"That is so mean! Lio, what the hell!" She yells down the hall at him.

"It's all good." Liv smiles genuinely. "Now..." She chuckles into her glass of wine. "He's still kinda a brat tho."

"Livy, I'm so sorry." Lucie groans, putting her head on her cousin's shoulder. "I should have included you more."

"You and I both know it's Lio's way or the highway."

"Hey, I'm not like that anymore." Lio complains as he comes into the living room. "Look, I'm making snacks for you. Livy, I can hand feed you yours if you want?"

"Yeah, make it the grapes." She jokes, opening her mouth. Lio flies in a grape like a plane. They all burst into giggles. Lio leans down to hug his little sister.

"I love you. You're a better sister than Lucie would have been." Lio ruffles Lucie's hair as he walks by.

"That's true. I'm sure Mack and Soph would take sweet Livy over me. Did you notice how Mack was in town and then I suggest this girls night and suddenly she's in Croatia?"

Liv chuckles, taking another sip of her wine. Her eyes trail over to her brother in the kitchen. Their gazes meet and he gives her a genuine smile. A thousand words pass between them in that one look.

As kids, they didn't know what it would be like to need each other and have the other show up.

Lisa won her third title in Norwegian League and second title in Champions League. Her career looked like a dream. She was just a 22 year old girl who’s winning everything she can. Despite the bittersweet end of the Olympic Games, she felt great with how her life looked like as an athlete. Right after the end of the season, Lisa decided to spend her vacation in Switzerland with Lottie. She needed to heal after the breakup and celebrate her season.

Visiting her best friend was the best idea. She and Lottie were partying almost every single weekend. Lots of wine and gossip were happening. This is exactly what she needed. Charlotte had a great idea how to make Lisa even happier. She knew that Nico was back in Switzerland for the summer break and she implemented her plan. 

Step 2: Invite Nico for the weekend.

Lottie wrote him a message with an invitation for a weekend if he will have a time to hang out with her. She hadn’t told Lisa that she invited him and Nico didn’t know that Lisa was with her. Lisa was casually making coffee for herself in the kitchen when she heard the ring bell. She went to open the door since Lottie was at work. She hadn’t expected to see Nico in front of her.

“Um, hi. What are you doing here?” Lisa asked, surprised.

“I could ask you the same question. Lottie invited me to spend the weekend with her” Nico casually said.

“She hadn’t told me that and I've basically been living with her for the past month” You joked. “Come in, do you want coffee?” 

“Sure. How have you been?” 

And this is how their conversation started. They spent the whole day sitting in Lottie’ living room catching up with their lives. They’ve been texting almost every day but this was different. Finally they could see each other and talk in person. After three years, they reunited face to face. They had plenty of laughs and learned a lot about each other. 

“Okay admit to me, why did you stop talking with me during the pandemic?” Lisa asked.

“It’s embarrassing” Nico nervously chuckled. “Maya went through my phone and she was mad that we’ve been talking. I told her that you’re my friend as much as you’re hers but she didn’t listen and I stopped. Later I wanted to reach out but I felt bad with writing to you after couple of months so yeah” 

“I knew it! I knew that’s Maya’ fault” Lisa said and Nico looked confused at her. “I was suspecting this because the same problem had Sander”

Around 6PM, Lottie got back home. The first thing she heard when she opened the door was Lisa’ laugh. She quietly went into her apartment and looked at them. They’ve been in their bubble and didn’t even notice her. She was standing in afar and watched their interaction. She could tell that they're a perfect match. After a couple minutes, Nico finally noticed her. 

“You have a lot of explanations to make” He stood up and went to hug her. 

“What? I just wanted to spend the weekend with my two friends” Lottie laughed.

“Well it would be nice if you would tell me that Nico is coming” Lisa said.

“First of all it’s my apartment” Lottie stated and made them laugh. “Also, you two look very comfy with each other so you’re welcome” She told them and went to change clothes in her bedroom.

“She’s unbelievable” Nico chuckled.

“She really is, but don’t we love her for that?” Lisa said. 

Lottie came back to them and took the wine from the cabinet. Three of them sat down on the couch and spent the evening together playing board games. Lottie was telling embarrassing stories about two of them but also watched them closely. Nico was sitting next to Lisa and their knees were touching each other. She could tell that they feel comfortable and wanted to push it even further. 

“How about going to a party tomorrow?” Lottie proposed. 

“I’m in!” Lisa said excitedly.

“Sure, why not?” Nico answered. “But I’m not keeping your hair if you’ll be throwing up, it’s your duty Lisa”

“Don’t worry, I survived worse with her” She laughed.

Lisa slept with Lottie so Nico could have a guest bedroom for himself. The next morning, three of them went out for breakfast and had an argument over who’s gonna pay for it.

“I invited you to spend time with me so I’m paying” Lottie said.

“That’s why you’re not paying” Lisa argued back. “I’ll pay”

“Not a chance, I’m paying. You invited me to be with you this weekend so I want to spoil you” Nico fought back.

“You’re our guest. You’re not paying too” Lisa answered. 

“Exactly! I’m a guest so let me pay” 

“No! I’m paying” Lisa said and grabbed her card. Lottie knew how stubborn Lisa is and just laughed. 

“Is she always like that?” Nico asked her.

“Yeah, even worse” Lottie giggled while Lisa came back to the table. 

After breakfast, the trio went to a beach to get a little sun before going to a party. They didn’t want to spend the whole day at home and the weather was perfect to chill. They had a fun afternoon of laughing and enjoying each other's company.

They got back home and started getting ready for the party. Nico was sitting in the living room and watched how the two girls were running from bathroom to the bedroom while getting ready. Lottie dragged Lisa to the bar to order shots and Nico followed them. Since Lisa and Nico were fresh out of a breakup, they didn’t search for anyone to hook up with. “So what are we doing?” Lisa asked Nico.

“Since we have her place for just the two of us… I propose to come back and drink there”

“Deal, lead the way captain” Lisa joked and Nico grabbed her hand to not lose her in the crowd. She felt warm raising on her cheeks by the affection.

After twenty minutes, they were back in Lottie’ place. Lisa knew where she kept the alcohol and took it out of the and poured drink for her and Nico. They were casually chatting and drinking. They acted like really good friends and not people who just met for the second time in their lives. Both of them were pretty drunk and started talking about their exes.

“I’ll never forget when I had to fake an orgasm with Sander. That was the most embarrassing thing in my life” Lisa laughed at the memory. 

“Are you serious?” She nodded. “And he couldn't tell that you’re faking?”
