DONT WAIT FOR THE TIDE
JUST TO DIP BOTH YOUR FEET IN
“You really wanna go on a road-trip?” I ask Buck as he throws a duffel into his Jeep and then more gently tucks my duffel next to his, I look out at the cold greys and harsh blues in the sky. The clouds threaten to launch a downpour any moment, “it’s the middle of December Buck”
“Yeah, yeah it’ll be good for us to get out of town for a while. See the coast. San Fran and Santa Cruz” He rambles, I’ve seen him rushing but he’s never been so eager to kick it before.
“Buck I lived in San Jose, I know all those places. I’ve been there before. What’s this really about?” I inquire as he opens my door and helps me in then proceeds to jump into the drivers side and we speed off.
“I just, everything at work has been so crazy lately and I just need to blow town for a little while. And I thought, why don’t I do that with my favorite lady who knows all the best spots” he reasons brushing through his loose curls as we slow at a traffic light.
“Ok..” I shrug a little; I’ve been with this man long enough to know when to push and when to not, “how’s Eddie doing?” I ask, “losing his wife must’ve been hard” I pick my knee up and place my feet on the dash before Buck swats them down, “I’m in my socks!”
“That is how you break your pelvis and your legs so feet where they go babe” He corrects gently, moves a hand from the wheel to gently caress my thigh. Covered in my Stanford crewneck and leggings with my fuzzy Christmas socks on. I’m a little more comfortable than if I was in jeans and a hoodie.
“Alright alright, but Chris is good?” I ask turning my head as he looks at the GPS.
“Yeah, he misses his mom and Eddie’s shut down a little bit but I think with some therapy he might start coming back.. Athena and Bobby have been helping out with dinners n stuff” he explains, checking over as he merges into the freeway.
“That’s good, god I love those two. Real good people” I nod a little shifting in my seat as Buck continues driving.
“I was thinking, Santa Cruz, we go see your parents, San Fran, then drive back. Skip LA and just head straight to San Diego?” He asks looking over. Just a peeking glance at my expression before he turns his attention back to the road.
“Buck, y’know I love you but it’s gonna be freezing in San fran and Santa Cruz and driving past home Buck what’s up? I’m gettin worried” I peek over at him, seeing a large sigh from his chest.
“I’m scared. To go back. That I’ll get hurt again. Or someone else will get hurt again. I’m starting to think I’m just full of bad luck” He breathes a little looking in the rearview mirror before speeding up slightly.
“Oh” I don’t really have anything to say, no words to comfort him, no piece of advice to say ‘I’d been there, I know how you feel’ because I don’t know how he feels. I don’t know what it’s like to die on the job, or to see my friends face death, “I can’t tell you that I’ve been there and give you advice” I admit, “baby, the best I can do for you is to tell you that I’m here for you. And we have about six hours for you to tell me all about your feelings”
I see a faint smile and he shakes his head, “nah, I don’t need you to be my therapist, but I appreciate it.. more than you know” He tugs at his earlobe and sits back a little.
We sit in silence, I’ve got my AirPods in and watching the view. Bucks hand shifts from the steering wheel to my thigh where he just holds it.
We arrive in Santa Cruz at sunset, the beach is cold and the sand pricks at my toes as I slip my socks off, “come on bucky” I smile a little, it’s been years since I’ve been to this beach. I grasp his hand, he falters slightly before following after me. A quick surge foreword as he drops my hand then lifts me over his shoulder. I gasp slightly and grip onto his shirt, “Evan!”
“You run too slow, y’know I’m trained to run carrying a hell of a lot more than what you weigh” He sasses slightly, lowering me as the waves lick at my feet. It’s a re-assuring smile he gives me as he leans in and kisses me softly.
I smile into the kiss and wrap my arms around his neck. Locking my fingers into the soft blondeish brunette curls, “y’know. I didn’t realize how much I needed to get out of the city until I actually got out” I murmur as he turns and we stand side by side. The waves crashing into my ankles, starting to wet the edges of my leggings. The water starts to soak into Bucks jeans. He holds my hand, stuffing it into his hoodie pocket. I lean against his bicep, his finger rubs against my thumb.
“Good trip then?”
“Definitely”

Ok what about where Andy barber, Jacob and his (Andy)'s wife, reader lived together happily and peacefully. Until one day, lauri who got out jail and visits them.
Our Home
A/N: FINALLY. enjoy. 💕☘️
Life was bliss with you and the boys.
Jacob was getting home schooled, Andy moved to practising law privately and you got to cook them dinner every night when you came from work. With Laurie securely in jail, while worries clouded your mind in the middle of the night, they were also subdued when Andy rolled over, wrapped his arms around you and kissed your forehead.
“Ok so this guy walks into a bar…” Andy waved his beer over the cleaned plate in front of him.
It was a regular Wednesday night dinner, the plates of your delicious dinner cleared, warm artificial light filled the room as the boys took turns trying to make you laugh with bad jokes.
“No, you used this one last month, that isn’t fair!” Jacob groaned.
“Hey hey, let me finish!” Andy hushed him.
“Ok so he walks into-“ Interrupted by a knock at the door.
You all froze. No one ever came to the door anymore. Especially not this time at night.
Andy rose from his seat; you grabbed his forearm.
“Wait maybe it’s not a good idea honey.”
“It’s fine.” He kissed your forehead and patted Jacob’s head as he made his way to the front door.
You put your hand on Jacob’s, rubbing it softly “Hey, you’ll be ok, he protects us remember.” He gave you a small smile and nod.
You heard him walk to the door and the shuffling sounds of the door opening.
“No no no don’t do that! Don’t fucking touch me.” Andy’s voice rose and you got up in instinct.
“Yeah Laurie, look I don’t care you’re not allowed to be here it’s a court order.”
“Please don’t let her in here Y/N.” Jacob gave you a pleading whisper.
“Go up to your room, ok honey? We’ll come and see you soon. It’ll be ok.” You pulled his fringe back from his head.
He nodded, holding back tears. Getting up quickly and moving up the stairs.
You came up behind Andy, putting your hand on his lower back.
“Oh, so you’re with her now? That fucking slut?” Laurie spat at your presence.
“Hey! Hey! You don’t get to talk to her like that. You don’t get to come here and disturb the peace. Now if you don’t get off OUR property in the next 2 minutes, I will make sure you go straight back to jail.”
You cowered behind Andy, trying to hide your tears at her hurtful words, you weren’t a homewrecker by any means. Your relationship started as colleagues, you were a shoulder to cry on, with Andy everyday through all the tribulations and trial. He slept on your couch 3 times a week to get away from it all, never once pulling a move. Your relationship started after she went to jail and the divorced was finalised.
Laurie growled, lunging for you, deep rage in her eyes. She didn’t make it far before Andy’s quick reflexes pushed her back with minimal effort, back out the door.
“THAT’S IT I’M CALLING.” He slammed the door, marching to his phone in the kitchen.
“Andy, she’s not worth it… she’s harmless.” You followed him.
“I don’t care! Nobody lays their hands on you in your own home. That’s not fucking ok. She may seem harmless but I’m not going to let her get away with that.”
He picked up his phone, holding it to his ear. Hand on your wrist, pulling you close.
“Hi, I’d like to report an attempted assault… yeah we have cameras.”
Once the police arrived and you filed the report with Andy closely by your side refusing to leave. You both made your way up to Jacob’s room.
Sound asleep in bed, you both decided you’ll talk to him tomorrow, both exhausted and not wanting to wake him.
You crawled up against Andy in bed. His grip on you still tight and tense.
“I’ll never let anything happen to you, you know?”
“I know, she won’t bother us again we’ll get the restraining order.”
“Not just her, anything in life. My top priority will always be keeping you two safe.”
“I know. That’s why you’re the best baby.” You smiled up at him.
He placed a small kiss on your forehead. Pulling your chin up to meet him with his thumb and his pointer, he placed another soft, deep kiss on your lips.
“I love you Y/N.”

@heliosthegriffin I bet that was a fun concert! I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd back when. Man those guys are getting old! On that note, how is Ozzy alive? The sheer volume of drugs he’s been on/is on, I’m surprised he can walk let alone sing. What’s keeping him out of the grave?
Well… I knew that Sanderson had more books, but didn’t know that he had a whole interconnected universe surrounding them! With my declining interest in Destiny, that was such a fun game but some people at the top, this will be worth looking into. If they’re as consistent quality as Mistborn, then it’ll be fun!
Nice bike. Horse themed to go along with Jaune’s usual knight getup, looks expensive, but a little gaudy and too spiky for my taste and not much room for passengers. I was thinking Cloud Strifes bike from Advent Children if he ever got one.
Jaune was inspired by Cloud as well. That one can hold his gear and then some. Unfortunately none of these bikes are much use in the city, like None said. Too many buildings, too noticeable, too traceable, not enough room. I can see Atlas having a few prototype-ish Sparrows though, to go along with their Super Soldier squad. Or one of Watts’ side projects. Haven’t seen Air Gear yet, but that can also be part of the projects. (it’s on my watch list!) Can’t let the general public know about these cool toys. Or the Gears can be an up and coming inventor project that Jaune sees the potential and uses Bears money to invest in. But unfortunately I don’t see any regular use of these rides.
Unless we make a mini-arc where Jaune and others have to do a Mad Max styled chase/fight through the Webway to stop some raiders or something. The magic girls flying and everyone else in kitted out vehicles like from Twisted Metal. With no regular gravity allowing everyone to ride on any surface, the ever changing nature of the Webway, it could be a fun ride. Quick question though, why are they all green and what’s a ‘waaagh’?
I was curious how Ruby was a magic girl when the storybook only had four Stars. But I probably just missed or forgot something, no biggie. I’m sure I’ll find it on rereads. Instead of mama Arc bugging Jaune to give her grand babies its mama Rose badgering Ruby! God help these kids if the mamas ever meet. The dads will be no help, just walking out back to fire up the grill. I can imagine Summer when Ruby brings Jaune home. She sees a good looking young man with her daughter practically hanging off him and her first question is “how do you feel about kids?”
Ruby: Mom! No! He’s just my bestie! Just friends!
Summer: Oh, my sweet summer child. You have no idea.
Ruby: Mom!
Jaune: …So, Mr Rose? Did I get that right?
Tai: Xaio Long. And just call me Tai and her Summer. Or mom, mama, pops, papi, I’m not going to be picky with you. Or rather can’t in this case.
Jaune: Ok, uh Tai, should I be worried about them? And what did Mrs. Ro- I mean Summer mean?
Tai: Son, have you ever heard the phrase ‘history repeats itself?’
She’s over the moon when she learns he’s an Arc. So many grand babies to spoil! And if Ruby has any boys with Jaune, those Arc and Rose genes, SEW population explosion.
That can also be a story beat for Yue and Bluby. Blu has the ability but can’t use it because she wasn’t taught how and doesn’t follow the SEW Love Oath. Since she’s pretty selfish, jaded, closed off to prevent getting hurt again she can’t access her powers properly. It’s only after learning from Summer and getting some love that she didn’t growing up that she learns how to harness it. People can take Bluby more seriously than Ruby, but Ruby is more useful in fighting Grimm than Bluby is. She also learns that the SEW Oath isn’t something you can just trick or follow halfheartedly either, like how she Jack Sparrows it usually. It’s a slow growth, trauma like that doesn’t go away overnight RT!
And then Summer being the mom that she couldn’t be to Yue and Ying in their world. Tai being a better father too. Not either of their faults though. Aiko and Blake can team up to find Kali too. It may not be Aiko’s real mom but it’s still her mom!
@lar-mx the cavern system can be a good dungeon crawl. There was a cavern system in the Mountain Glen episode, so why not? Make the magic squad really handicapped since they can’t just blast their way through without compromising the caverns. Give them some irregular underground specialized Grimm to fight. Clearing it out can lessen the pressure on Vale. This can also be where Jaune earns his first Android(s) at the end of it. I can see the chaos that happens when a drop dead sexy Sekirei Servant follows him home.
Just to clarify with the Hive-doll, are you making all the androids connect to the hive mind or just that particular model? I think that it should only the one doll model, to make her special compared to her bigger and more combat capable siblings. Make it so despite on how the Hierarchy is structured, there is no demeaning the mini Dolls since they can’t emulate that particular ability. But yes, it can be very creepy with how small and quiet she is, or just mimics a doll, she can eavesdrop on near anyone and report back to Jaune. One of them can just lurk on the web, finding all kinds of juicy tidbits that even Nora hasn’t seen. As a bonus, the Hive Dolls can have a sixth sense on where the others are and what they’re doing at all times. So a form of gps between them.
To my understanding of Enuncia, if you speak the words correctly/perfectly then you don’t have any recoil. It’s when you mispronounce, enunciate the wrong parts, wrong cadence, or something similar, then it hurts you. I recall a few speakers, not perpetuals they don’t count, that used Enuncia without any problems. Who exactly, not sure. It was briefly mentioned on one of Majorkills videos, that’s all I know. We can also mix this with the Thuum as you have to possess a deep understanding of the word before you can even begin to train with it. And like I said Jaune wouldn’t use any in this story. Too long to learn and too overkill. I like the idea that gramps has an idea of the Words, or Old Tongue here, but not enough to be of use.
If he learns any it’ll be as old Hopebright Jaune and not this young Grimdark Jaune. By that time he’ll have mastered his fighting capabilities, learned to use his Starsteel weapons specialties at will, perfected his Semblance, gathered powerful allies, collected lots of magic tools, perhaps learned a few other almost magic styles, had a small army of kids, and so on. He can almost take on the world and win by this point. Some of those Arcs really take ‘duty til death’ seriously.
For the Grimm Ship finale, I was thinking that since they can’t beat the ship at its own naval game, they force it into their land one. Draw it out, Weiss and Bleiss freeze the waters to make a big enough area to actually have all hands be able to fight, Ruby and Bluby or Blake and Aiko stand guarding the two so they can keep the land up, and then just go to town. Perhaps even the Black Pearl gets fixed up enough to fly for short periods of time and have it bombard the Grimm from above.
By this arc the gang would have to know the other’s identities and assembled a crew before they even get there for the length of time they’d have to spend on that world to fight the ship. It could’ve even started with a couple of the gang literally dragging Jaune there for some time off, because everyone but him can see he needs it however not knowing what problems that lie ahead. Given Jaune’s luck, every ‘vacation’ the girls make him go on would only turn into another problem that needs fixing or something to give him more headaches. Like how the Scooby gang always get wrapped up in some kinda mystery even when they aren’t looking for one. Neither Jaune or Scooby can get a break can they?
Grimm, civil wars, bandits, corrupt kings, Grimm, gods, Fey, elves, devils, Grimm, dragons, uprisings, apocalypse, slavery rings, Grimm again, prophecies, debts, outer gods, Grimm, aliens, artifacts, warlords, more Grimm, possessions, evil robots, revolutions, Grimm, werewolves, vampires, mages, extra Grimm, is Death itself having a coffee, that’s a lot of monster girls, do these guys really solve problems with card duels, what’s a Pokémon, was that a R63 version of Jaune, why are there dust dammed Grimm everywhere we go?! I’m trying to have a vacation dammit!
He’s a servant of the Emperor. The Emperor gives his finest men his greatest challenges. Just ask Ciaphas Cain. *snicker* Jaune and Ciaphas bonding over booze and how terrible the hands they get dealt and never getting a break. Being just normal humans stuck in a shitty situation. At least they get some hotties out of this.
Yeah no, no Gene-stealers. Grimm are enough of an issue, we don’t need those damn Nids making things even worse. Not to mention not even Atlas has a space program to notice in time. Not unless you really nerf those bugs. The gods themselves would have to step in for that. Or they can just throw Old King Jaune at them and he can solo the vanguard force, forcing them to believe this world isn’t worth the biomass.
Appear out of nowhere, massacre an entire invasion force solo, refuse to elaborate, disappear into thin air. What a chad.
For Sun, if he becomes a warlock, to have a pact with his ancestor gives me a question/idea. The common thread for such legendary figures is an Aura Awakening. So what if those who Awakened, not Unlocked, join a sort of spectral club that lives in a sort of spiritual/ghostly form to continue to aid and protect the living. Like with spirits so strong to Awaken their own Auras, they don’t rest the same way that everyone else does. Just a thought.
A new student usurping Ciel’s role as president, forcing Jaune to confront and overcome him as Jaune is an interesting arc. Make him fill those Captain America shoes instead of his usual Batman ones. Bear only wanted him in the top percentile and not necessarily President, but this upset is a good opening for him to push Jaune in that direction. Him becoming a Vale councilman would be a natural progression of that situation. Jaune could see through the guy since the guy uses a magic item that alters perceptions. This happens in the first episode of Fairy Tail and the counter is awareness. Or rather Jaune’s regular exposure to magic can help him develop a sort of awareness to it. PRWBY being aware of the foul play could also support Jaune in his run for president. Or Jaune may not even be trying for the position, and his resistance against the guy and eventual win could ‘convince’ the student body volunteer him for it. ‘What do you mean I was elected as the SCP? I didn’t put my name on the ballot.’

Suds
Pairing: Soft Yandere!Enji Todoroki x GN!Reader
Summary: A reformed Enji gives you a bath and contemplates your relationship with him.
Warnings: Yandere themes (abduction + mention of lewd thoughts + bindings [it’s rlly soft stuff tho])
A/N: never thought I’d write for Endeavor, but felt like this kind of concept fit his character the most after his redemption arc and uh... Idk kinda soft and horny for him whoops. Also I started a new aesthetic for my fic headers to separate them from my hcs, but idk if I like it yet
“Is the water too hot?”
You say nothing back to Enji as you kneel next to the tub, dipping your fingertips into the water. After a few moments of inspection, you rise from your spot and give Enji a pointed look over your shoulder. Knowing what the look means, Enji turns his back towards you and crosses his arms.
For the past couple days, you’ve been trying out a new tactic of defiance: the silent treatment.
Silence in his home isn’t new to Enji. Rei had been a quiet wife for most of their marriage, only conversing with him if he spoke to her first or if it was in regards to their kids. After Rei’s hospitalization and Touya’s death, his life had practically become silent, save for the times his remaining sons would jeer at him and the small talk his daughter would initiate.
But he’s not used to silence with you. The first few weeks after he abducted you were anything but silent. Begging him to let you go, screaming that he’s an asshole, shattering fine china when you threw the dishes at his face and missed… and most recently, breaking the bathroom mirror during your scheduled bath time. He had come rushing in, only to be caught off guard when you swung a shard towards his chest the second he burst through the door. Luckily, his instincts as a hero allowed him to react quickly enough to swerve to the side. After the incident, he told you that he would have to monitor your baths from that point forward. You spat at his feet in response.
To be honest, Enji thinks you should be more grateful that he didn’t punish you more severely for attempting to kill him and for your other past acts of rebellion. He could have easily done whatever he had wanted to you. For a second, images of your wrists tightly bound by rope and your quivering lips forced apart by a dirty rag flashes through Enji’s mind. He shakes his head.
No, he’s a new man now… sort of. He’s trying his best to please you, at least, as much as he can as your captor. Sure, he’s forced a few cuddles here and there, but he had never forced himself on you sexually. Even when you were stripped bare to bathe, he hadn’t made a single move.
… Ok, he’s not completely innocent; he’s had lewd thoughts, but he never acted on them.
The sound of your robe falling to the floor brings Enji back to the present and he waits until he hears a splash to turn back around. Once he does, the sight that greets him makes him crack a smile.
The tub is ridiculously full of bubbles, the cloud-like mass practically engulfing your form. If any more of the soapy solution were to be added, he’s sure that he’d only be able to see the top of your head peeking out from the suds. To top it all off, you’re pouting like a child, clearly not wanting to give him the gratification of seeing you enjoy the perfect bath he prepared for you.
“I know that you’ve been wary of your modesty, so I made sure the bath had more bubbles today,” he says as he sits cross-legged by the tub. “Though I suppose that I went a bit overboard with them.”
He eyes your face for any type of reaction. You say nothing back to him, but he catches your eyes soften.
Enji’s not exactly sure why they do. Are you finally warming up to him? Or perhaps you're just grateful that he had gone through the efforts to make sure your intimate parts were concealed while he washed you? It’s most likely the latter, but he can’t help but let the hope of the former possibility sweep through him.
“Which shampoo and conditioner would you like to use today?” Enji asks. You take a while to eye the several bottles in the shower caddy before indicating your choice by pointing at them. Enji makes a mental note of the brands as he squirts the shampoo into his calloused hands.
As per routine, you shift yourself against the tub so that the back of your head is facing Enji. Gently, he lathers your hair. To be honest, he could probably trust you with bathing yourself; it’s not like you could do much damage by swinging some shampoo and froth at him. He could have just stood by the side and watched, making sure that you wouldn’t do anything like before.
Still, he can’t help but just want to spend some peaceful quality time with you. Anytime you’re in the same room as him, your shoulders are always squared, as if you’re prepared for an attack at any moment. The few times he’d gone in for a hug after an exhausting day of hero work, you struggled and told him to fuck off. Your bath times are the only moments where you allowed yourself to relax.
Actually, the first bath time after he announced your punishment was completely opposite to now. You had screeched and clawed at him when he tried to touch your hair; Enji still had a light scar on his forearm from where you managed to scratch him.
Now… Well, he could only guess that you gave up on rebelling, at least, during your baths. Enji felt warmth pool in his chest at the thought. He had put in a lot of effort in trying to make the baths as nice as possible so that you could ease into the practice easier. The idea that he had succeeded in making you happy made his pride skyrocket.
He takes his time scrubbing your arms and legs, savoring the feeling of your skin against his. You’re obviously aware of his actions, but seem to let them slide, only giving him warning glares when his hands would get too close to your torso. He turns his back towards you again once he’s done with your limbs, leaving you to clean your most intimate parts and wash off the foam.
When you give him a tap on his shoulder to signal that you’ve put the robe back on, he sits on the lid of the toilet and lightly holds onto your waist to pull you onto his lap. Once you’re situated, he takes a brush and combs through your damp hair. While he could trust you in washing yourself, he could never trust you with combing your own hair; the brush was what you used to break the mirror.
“Enji?”
He stops brushing your hair for a moment, surprised that you had broken your silent treatment. He hadn’t even realized that you had called him by his given name for the first time rather than his hero name until after you leaned your head back to lay on his chest.
He clears his throat before responding with a shaky, “What is it?”
“Will I ever be able to bathe alone again?” You tilt your head backwards to meet his downward gaze.
He resists himself from frowning at your question. If he let you bathe alone, he wouldn’t have moments like these anymore. He’d be back to experiencing your anger and malice 24/7 again.
“... If you behave for a while longer, then I’ll consider it.” He hopes that, while it’s not a straight yes or no answer, it’ll suffice.
To his relief, you merely let out a hum in response and lean forward again. Enji goes back to brushing your hair, trying his best to be gentle when combing out the knots.
For a while longer, he lets himself enjoy the serenity of the moment, pretending as if this wasn’t a punishment.
He was just taking care of the love of his life and you were simply enjoying being pampered by your loving husband.

Cuddle Buddies
Pairing: Roommate! Rafael Casal x Reader
Word Count: 2.4k
Warnings: Minors DNI, RPF, angst, cursing, pining, jealousy, suggestive language, butt slapping, fluff! No smut! All errors my own. I apologize if you like the smell of patchouli, lol.
A/N: This is an answer to the following ask from @teatro-dira :
Okay so I don't know if this is kinda weird but like an Rafael x reader were they are like really cuddly(like a lot of hugs, cuddling and stuff) friends and roommates and everyone teases them asking them if they're dating. Then Rafael gets a girlfriend which makes y/n lowkey feel betrayed and jealous, but he doesn't realize that. Y/n accidentally ruins their relationship(you chose how). They get into a fight, but it ends in fluff. Hope you understand what I mean:)
Here it goes! I hope you like it!
———-
A series of unfortunate events led you to this situation six months ago.
You were subletting Rafael’s apartment in Santa Monica when production wrapped a month early on his project in Vancouver. He had nowhere to go, and neither did you, so you agreed to share the space.
You vibed, almost as much as he and Daveed did. Folks began to call you the fourth Muskateer, for as much as you, Rafa, Daveed and his girl were always together.
You all talked, smoked, and created together. You and Rafa especially were always all over each other, keeping each other warm under blankets on the couch, watching movies while you ran your fingers through his hair, in one or another’s bed watching videos, or writing in tandem.
It was all good, cause Rafa was being a man-whore at the moment with several ladies, and you were just chilling. It was dope.
Almost.
It would have been all the way dope, except...
Except for the fact that you were in love with Rafa.
You loved sharing the same space with him, because you could smell him when he just got out of the shower, play in his silky hair, and feel his strong arms around you. And when he wore grey sweats…. Damn. You and your little bullet celebrated every time that happened.
Everyone could tell, except for Rafael. People ragged on you two so hard, that you vehemently denied it every time, to the point of getting heated.
One night, you side eyed the teaser through a cloud of smoke after catching Rafa’s grimace when they said you two should get together. Your mood sank at what you perceived was rejection.
“I would NEVER get with Rafa, that’s the homie. He’s like a brother to me. Ugh. Getting with my brother? No way. We’re just Cuddle Buddies.”
Rafa blinked and then took a toke.
“Exactly, we the homies. Platonic Ride or Dies. It’ll never happen.” He passed what he was holding and then stood up. “Cuddle Buddies till the end.” He sounded disgusted.
“I’m going to go get some food. I’m hungry. What does everyone want?” After everyone yelled out their orders, you offered to come with.
“Nah, sis. I’m good. Gonna clear my head. I’ll be back soon. Rafa peaced out and you sat back down with the crew.
-------
Ever since that night, Rafa seemed a little distant. He was always busy, and never had time to sit and kick it with you the last couple of weeks. You all never seemed to link.
One night, he was home when you came in with groceries.
“Oh shit, I didn’t know that you’d be here!” You put the groceries down on the counter while Rafa was at the stove, cooking up some pasta with marina.
“Mmmmmm. Smells good!” You went and stood very close to him, expecting him to give you a side hug, at least.
He just turned and glanced at you, a smirk lifting one side of his face.
“Will you never learn to keep an umbrella in the car? You always come in soaking wet from the rain.”
Here he was, shaking his head that you didn’t have enough sense to come in out of the rain. How could this talented genius ever want to be with you?
You just played it off, as usual. “I’m starving. I didn’t think I would make it through cooking, but you’re always clutch, Rafa!”
Rafa stood there and gaped at you.
“Uhhhhh… I thought you said you were driving down to the Vista to see your mom… I have someone coming over for dinner....”
“No. She’s decided to go on a cruise to Cabo with her bestie… she just called and told me as she was boarding the ship this afternoon. The hussy. Tryna be fast with her little friends.” You laughed.
“So, who’s coming over? UTK? Wayne? Jimmy?”
You jumped up on the counter and watched as Rafa put some french bread with butter and garlic in the oven. Smelled like heaven. Those guys would definitely invite you to stay.
Rafa wiped his hands on the towel that was hanging on the stove. And turned around to face you.
“Her name is Aurora.”
It was like he’d punched you in the gut. He’d NEVER brought one of his heauxes around. You fought the urge to double over, even though you felt nauseous. When you looked at him, he looked concerned.
“Hey, you okay?”
You jumped down from the counter and quickly nodded your head, laughing weakly.
“I...uh.. Yeah. Like I said, I haven’t eaten since breakfast, expecting to be at dinner with my moms by now.”
You grabbed your groceries, putting them up quickly and grabbed an apple, taking it to your room.
“I’m going to get out of your way in a minute, I’ll go over to Carla’s and hang with her tonight. We’ll probably go out and do what we do, you know?”
Rafa still looked worried.
“Are you sure you’re ok? You need more than an apple. Look, stay…”
“NO!” Your voice was raised and it startled you. “I mean, I’m not one to be a cock blocker. I’ll just get my stuff and get ready to go.”
Rafa just watched as you scurried into your room. Why did you feel like crying? Why did you feel as if you would never breathe properly again? You got out your phone and called Carla.
20 minutes later, you exited your room dressed for the club with your overnight bag. There was a strange smell in the room, and it wasn’t pasta. It was patchouli. You HATED patchouli.
You didn’t realize you were giving the gas face until Rafa came out of the kitchen followed by a short, but cute woman, with a body like, whoa.
Of course.
Rafa glared at you and you fixed your face. That bestie telepathy was on point. Then he looked up and down, as if he were judging your freakum dress. Well, fuck him.
“Oh, hey! Y/N, this is Aurora. Aurora, Y/N.”
Aurora ignored your outstretched hand and went in for a hug.
“Y/N! I’ve heard so much about you that I feel like I know you intimately, just like Rafael.”
You tried to keep your face straight in reaction to her scent, then gave her a sideye.
Was it the inept way she rolled the ‘R’ in Rafael, or the thinly veiled shot at your relationship? Either way, you felt like slapping the shit out of her. You looked at Rafa, but then just cleared your throat.
“And I’ve heard so much about you as well. You’re all Rafa talks about.” He shook his head behind her. “Nice to meet you, but I’m headed out for the night.”
It was then that Aurora saw your bag and brightened up.
“Oh! You do look nice. Are you leaving, you sure you don’t want to stay?”
You could smell insincerity a mile away. Even patchouli couldn’t cover that up. You just smiled at her.
“No ma’am. I’ve got places to see and people to do.” You winked at them as you walked out of the door, holding up your umbrella. “Stay dry y’all.”
You made it out the door without crying of jack slapping that little bitch or Rafa. You were winning.
But why did it feel like you’d lost everything?
-----
You and Rafa successfully avoided one another for days. He was either over Aurora’s or you were with Carla, your mom, or just stayed in your room.
One time you passed Rafa and Aurora on the couch watching a movie on your way to the kitchen to get something to eat. Rafa’s head was in her lap.
You stopped dead in your tracks when you heard Rafa’s slightly raised voice say: “Don't’ mess with the swoop, Babe.”
‘Babe.’ He called her Babe. That’s it. It was time for you to go.
You were cramping Rafa’s style. You just tiptoed back in your room, making little to no noise so that they could watch the movie in peace. You didn’t see Rafa looking at your door after you went in.
----
A week later, you let Rafa know your move out date.
“Wait. What?”
Rafa’s mouth was open. You repeated yourself.
“Well, I’m going to move in with Carla. She’s going to let me ride her couch until this other place comes open in three weeks. It’s a sweet deal, near the studio….”
Rafa’s mind was racing, you could see the gears turning.
“Well… why don’t you just stay here until then, we got a good thing going.” He looked upset. What was up with him?
“Rafa… I’m just in the way. You’ve got Aurora…”
“Hold up, wait. We aren’t even that serious. I mean, I just stopped seeing Bev and Chrissy. He looked at his watch. Last week.”
You laughed at Rafa’s fuckboi ways. “Well, what about me? I might want to date someone and bring them over…”
Rafa’s face changed.
“Bring someone over here…”
But it didn’t sound like an invitation, it sounded like a threat.
It was your turn to stare at Rafa. “What the hell…?”
He straightened up. “I mean, any of your guests are welcome here.”
You sighed and shook your head.
“See what I mean? Things are getting tense, I want us to stay friends, not be tight with each other all the time.”
Rafa grinned. “You said ‘tight.’” He dodged a couch pillow thrown at his head.
“What are you, a 12 year old?” You were rolling. He really was one of your best friends. But you needed space to get over yourself. And him.
“Okay. You grown. But just know that you don’t have to go. And know that I will miss the hell out of you.”
Rafa came over to hug you, and he held you longer than normal, and then kissed the top of your head. You looked up at him, still in his arms and it was like…
You cleared your throat. “Well, I guess I better go start to pack.”
Rafa stepped back. “Ok.”
Both of you hurried to your perspective rooms.
-----
One night, a couple of days later, Rafael came into your room without knocking.
“What did you say to Aurora?”
You were laying on your stomach on your phone, in just your t-shirt an panties. You rolled over and looked at him.
“What are you talking about?”
Rafa wasn’t yelling, but he was keyed up.
“What did you tell her the last time you talked?”
You put your head down to think, then brought it back up.
“I just said that I was going to miss playing in your hair when we watched movies, that I knew it was your favorite thing.”
Rafa nodded, then shook his head.
“Y/N, you’re the only one I let touch my hair. Aurora has barely been allowed near it.”
“That’s…. New.” You were perplexed.
“No it isn’t. Everyone knows I don’t like people messing with my hair. Aurora accused me of having feelings for you.”
You were sitting up now, crossing your arms and standing before Rafa.
“That’s ridiculous.”
Rafa looked like he was about to explode. He threw his hands up in the air and walked out of your room.
“OF COURSE IT IS! RIDICULOUS!” He was really agitated.
“Yeah, I know all too well that you think it's ridiculous for me to want to be with you. I don’t know what makes you think I’m not good enough for you?”
“Good enough for ME? You’re the one running around with all the model/actress types, you’re the one who thinks I’m beneath you. You said so that one night when you said we were ‘Platonic Ride or Dies.’”
“Here we go! Total distortion! Did you hear what you said before I said that? You said I was like your brother. Your brother. You think it’s that disgusting to be with me.”
“I just said that because you made a face when what’s her face said we should be together.”
“I made that face because I was imagining fucking your brains out. It was probably my cum face.”
You stopped and stared at him, mouth hinged open.
“The fuck?” You burst out laughing. “You are mad outta pocket Rafa.” Rafa was rolling too. “But you ain’t gotta lie.”
Rafa stopped laughing.
“Why do you think I’m lying?”
He was moving closer to you. This felt… dangerous. He looked up and down your body, and it was the first time you felt uncomfortable being comfortable around Rafa.
“Because you told me that you wanted to just be Cuddle Buddies a month after you came back from Canada. You drew a line in the sand.”
Rafa shook his head at you and smiled, green-blue eyes twinkling.
“I knew you were too zooted. I shouldn’t have tried to shoot my shot.”
“Run that back for me?” You couldn’t believe what he was saying right now.
“What I said was..I wanted to be Cuddie buddies. Cuddie is… you know…”
He pointed to your crotch.
You looked down, and then up at him again. “I can’t with you Rafa….”
Rafa tilted his head in that sexy way at you.
“Can you really not?”
You were stunned. Rafa continued.
“But I’m serious. When you came back with ‘Cuddle Buddies,’ I thought you were blowing me off and just wanted to be friends. So, I just settled into the friend zone.”
“Do you mean you’re attracted to me? Rafa, that’s funny as hell. You want me for my body?”
Rafa raised his eyebrows at you. “Hell yeah. C’mon girl. You know you’re fine.”
Your cheeks heated up. You stared at him for what must have been a solid minute. The possibilities of this alternate reality where Rafa liked you like you liked him opened up.
“But, Rafa... I don’t wanna be just cuddie buddies.”
“Oh. Ok, Cool….” Rafa cleared his throat and looked everywhere but at you.
“I want your heart.”
Rafa paused when he heard that and his face fell as he moved toward you. He took your arms in his hands.
“Y/N I'm sorry, I can't give you my heart.”
It was your turn to pick up your face.
“’Cause you already have it.”
His mischievous grin made your stomach flip. But you were mad.
“Fuck you, Rafa.” You were laughing with happiness, despite him playing too much.
“Oh, you don’t have to tell me twice.” Rafa swooped down and threw you over his shoulder. “I’ve been waiting six months for that invitation.”
You were trying to kick and scream.
Raa swatted you on the ass, then smoothed his hand over the cheek that stung.
“The more you struggle, the more you’ll be begging me to stop in a few.”
You struggled some more, but he made it to your bedroom and deposited you on the bed. He glared down at you, all sexy green-eyed god.
“Try me, Y/N.”
You reached for the drawstring on his sweats.
“If you insist, Rafael.”

Hi! I was wondering if you could write more for Dutch from Predator? Lol it's me btw! I was wondering if it could be a hate to love relationship, where Dutch, being the hardass he is, can't live down his pride, and the reader (preferably female), is a strong independent woman who is actually Poncho's little sister, learning from the best. To add on, can the reader be short as Arnie is so tall, and because I am only 5'2" irl?
I kind of combined this with the enemies-to-lovers prompt request, I hope that's ok! I hope you like this!😊💛
Old Habits Die Hard.
Alan "Dutch" Schaefer (Predator 1987) x reader
Warnings: NSFW, smut, swearing, mention of violence, alcohol consumption
Masterlist
"This round's on me, what does everyone want?" Mac announces as we go to sit down at the table, the mercenary remaining standing.
"A beer sounds good." Poncho says, looking at the rest of us.
We give words of agreement, taking our respective places at the table as Mac goes to leave the room and go to the bar.
"Don't forget a soda, I don't think they sell alcohol to underage people here." Dutch chips in, flashing a pointed look in my direction.
"Very funny." I roll my eyes, forcing a smile as the others chuckle, "A beer is fine, Mac. Thanks."
He nods, ducking from the room we rented out for the evening, leaving the five of us alone.
"So what's all this about, Dutch? Got us another job?" Blain questions, the gruff man leaning back in his chair, jaw working languidly at the gunk in his mouth.
"Yeah, but this one's a bit different." The major replies, taking a cigar from his pocket and lighting it.
"Different? How?" Hawkins frowns, cokcing his head to the side.
Dutch takes a deep breath of smoke from the cigar, sitting back in his seat.
"An old friend from the army got in touch. Says he needs us for a rescue op."
"Friend from the army? Who?" I inquire, lifting an eyebrow.
"Old commander of mine." Dutch replies dismissively, barely sparing me a glance.
"Ok, where is the job?" Poncho asks, my brother shooting me a knowing look, his eyes flicking up as Mac walks in again, seven beers cradled in his arms.
"What job?" He asks as he places the bottles down on the table, looking round at us all.
"Dutch got us another op." Blain grunts, reaching out to take his beer, spitting the contents of his mouth out into the ashtray on the table. Hawkins, Poncho and I pull faces at that, but don't say anything.
"Another one? We only just got back!" Mac exclaims, taking a seat across from Hawkins, taking a sip from his beer.
"Perks of the job." Dutch shrugs, exhaling a cloud of smoke.
"Will you at least tell us what it is?" I can't keep the impatience from my voice, finding his vagueness irritating.
"I'm getting to it, (Y/n), calm down." He rolls his eyes, "It's in central America, somewhere in the jungle. Phillips was cagey about where exactly, but he said it's got something to do with guerrillas and hostages. We're supposed to get the hostages out of there."
"Sounds simple enough." Billy muses, rubbing his chin.
"When is it?" Poncho chips in, watching the major closely.
Dutch is quiet for a minute, his eyes flicking over us all, before he finally responds.
"It's tomorrow."
I nearly choke on my beer, spluttering as I sit upright in my chair.
"Tomorrow? Are you insane?!" I burst out, annoyed, "We got back from Afghanistan at the ass-crack of dawn today, and you want us to fly off to the jungle at the same time tomorrow? You trying to kill us or what?"
The others nod in agreement, murmuring their own complaints, only to shut up when Dutch turns a venomous glare on me.
"You know, if you spent half the energy you do on complaining on growing, you wouldn't look like a damn child anymore, (Y/n). Would make taking jobs a lot easier - means I don't have to explain why we've only got six and half mercs with us." He snaps, voice laced with anger, "I'm not insane, just practical. We all need more money, and the work is low at the moment. You'd know that if you weren't off lounging at home all day, letting us do the hard planning and prep work."
Silence descends on us all, my jaw dropping at the vehemence behind his words. No one speaks, letting the two of us stare at each other in hatred, my expression swiftly creasing into fury, every muscle in my body going tense.
Another moment passes, before I suddenly stand from the table, slamming my bottle on the table as I stalk past, heading straight out the door. Poncho tries to stop me, calling out to me, but I ignore him, practically seething as I leave the bar and stride to the car my brother and I came in. Unlocking it, I climb in and slam the door, buckling myself into the driver's seat as I throw the car into drive, pulling out onto the road.
Furious, I drive way over the speed limit, weaving in and out of the traffic with no regard for my own safety as I careen down the highway. Screeching horns and tyres follow me as I go, but I ignore them, focusing instead on getting home, filled with anger now as Dutch's words play over and over in my head.
It doesn't take long for me to pull up in the drive of my house, the car skidding on the loose gravel as I harshly jerk the handbrake into place, unbuckling myself before I climb out, making my way over to the door. Opening it, I go in and head straight to the bathroom, intending to take a shower to cool me down, knowing I need to calm down. I strip down quickly, quickly getting under the cold water with my fists clenched at my sides for a while, until I start to massage myself with my fingers, working out the knots in my muscles. It's pleasant, but I can still feel the anger burning in my system, so I swiftly leave again, wrapping myself in a towel.
As I leave the bathroom, I hear a car pull up in the drive, the tyres crunching loudly on the gravel, announcing the newcomer's arrival. I dismiss it, chalking it up to it being Poncho, come to check up on me as the door downstairs opens, then closes, footsteps sounding in the hall as the person checks for me. The sounds are heavier than I thought they would be, and the identity of the person soon dawns on me.
Immediately, I feel the anger start racing through me again, my face creasing into a scowl until I force myself to calm down, at which point I turn and storm up to my bedroom. Going in, I start to rummage through my wardrobe, looking for some new clothes, trying to bite back the irritation rising in me as I hear the footsteps getting closer, the heavy boots not even halting as they reach the door. Within seconds, the wooden structure has been flung open, an angry mercenary standing in the space behind it.
"Ever learn to knock?" I snap at him as soon as I turn around, glaring at Dutch as he looms in the doorway, "Nevermind, you never learned manners period."
"Says the person who just stormed out of a bar." He scoffs, sneering at me as he steps into the room, "Talk about table manners."
"And whose fault is it I stormed out in the first place?" I glower at him, holding my towel in place as he continues forward, the glint in his eyes sparking a blazing heat inside me.
"Oh, so now it's my fault you can't take a joke?" Dutch jabs his finger at his chest before pointing it at me, brow furrowed in anger.
"You have a pretty poor idea of a joke, asshole." I spit back, lifting my finger up in his face as we step closer together, less than a foot away from each other now.
"You're the only one who thinks so, short-ass." He glares down at me, making me all too aware of how he towers over me.
Swallowing tightly, I shift uncomfortably.
"Sure about that? I can't be the only one who thinks your height jokes are getting old." I reply venomously, jabbing my finger at his chest.
He laughs humorlessly.
"Oh, but we both remember a time when you used to love playing into your shortness." His voice drops an octave, eyes boring into me, "I had you on your knees more than once with only standing over you. Remember?"
A flare of lust goes through me at the reminder, flashes of him looming over me as he pounded his cock harder and harder into my waiting mouth coming, unbidden, to mind. I'd always liked the sight of his muscular body above mine, as well as the feelings of his large hands wrapped around me, even if it was simply to hold my head still whilst he fucked it.
"That was months ago." I hiss back at him, barely able to look up at him - if I do, it'll be too much like the memories in my head and I'll give in to the urges of my body. Already I can feel arousal pooling in my panties, my cheeks flushing as I realise this.
"Old habits die hard." Dutch growls, before swiftly reaching out to tear the towel away, exposing me to him. Before I can protest, however, he's taken hold of me and lifted me against the wall, pinning me roughly in place with his body, my legs wrapping instinctively around his waist. His lips crash into mine, a mess of teeth and tongues ensuing as we kiss like we used to, wet sounds filling the air as we press closer and closer together. Soft sounds of need escape me, but they're swallowed by the ravenous major above me, who licks and nips at my lips, a few grunts leaving him as he does so.
Moving to pull him closer, I moan loudly as Dutch jerks his hips into mine, using them to hold me in place, his arousal pressing at my clit through his trousers. I have to bite back whines at the feeling of the rough fabric against my unprotected clit, my slick soon covering the crotch of his jeans as he rolls his hips into me. One of his hands moves to palm roughly at my breast, pinching and rolling the nipple between two calloused fingers, his other hand grasping my ass, which he squeezes tightly. Whimpering into his mouth, I take my nails down his back, grinding my sensitive clit down onto him, enjoying the waves of pleasure emanating from the stimulation.
Months and months of pent up lust pour through the kiss, only breaking as Dutch pulls back to yank his shirt off, revealing his muscular yet scarred torso to me. Instantly, I go to lick and kiss at the toned muscles, only to yelp indignantly as he takes hold of my hair and jerks my head back, growling as he fastens our lips together again. He presses closer, crushing me against the wall with his huge body, grinding his arousal into me with vigour, only to suddenly pull away, keeping me in his arms. In seconds, Dutch has thrown me on the bed, standing at the end with his hands on his belt.
Biting my lip, I eagerly move to help him, but he pushes me back down roughly, wasting no time in pulling his trousers and underwear down, revealing his leaking cock to the air. I moan at the familiar sight of it, eyeing up the veined length keenly, following it from the base to the reddened tip, watching as precum beads there.
Dutch doesn't give me long to admire him, climbing over me and pressing himself against me as soon as he's exposed, his lips moving to my neck. He leaves wet, open-mouthed kisses in his wake, biting at sensitive points as he goes, licking over them briefly each time to soothe them, every movement extracting a needy whine from me. One of his hands moves down to his cock, which he takes hold of and runs through my slick folds, coating the tip generously as he supplies pleasure to me. With every pass over my clit, I moan and rock up into him, clutching at his back.
"Fuck me, Dutch. Show me how much bigger you are." I moan out, wrapping my legs around his waist.
As he hears my words, however, Dutch growls, leaning back, making my legs fall from where they were. I whine at the lack of contact until he rolls me onto my front, grabbing hold of my ass to knead and grope.
"I'll show you alright." He practically snarls in my ear as he bends back over me, moulding his huge body to my smaller frame, hands jerking my ass into his hips. He grinds himself into me for a moment, building my pleasure further as he bites at the back of my neck, sending bolts of electricity through me, which I respond to by rocking back onto him.
With a final grunt, Dutch lines himself up with my hole, surging forwards into me in one stroke, stretching me out as he goes. A half-scream leaves my throat as I feel his cock slide over every sensitive spot inside me, my walls clenching deliciously around him, every vein rubbing against me. He gives me no time to adjust, pulling out entirely before slamming back into me, setting a hard, fast pace that has me seeing stars in no time. Ecstasy races through me, a knot tightening swiftly in my abdomen at the feeling of his thick cock pounding into me.
Dutch straightens after a moment, taking my hip in one hand whilst he presses my face into the bed with the other, using me as leverage to shove his cock as far into me as he can go, grunting and groaning behind me in pleasure and need. Under his grip, I feel totally immobile, but the thought of him using me to work out his anger sends me reeling, my walls clenching tightly around him, tearing a moan from his lips. His name falls from my own, almost like a mantra as he slams into me, sending bolts of pleasure through me, bringing me closer and closer to what I really want.
"So close, Dutch...keep going, oh fuck, you're so good…" I moan out, my words muffled slightly by the bed, though they are audible enough for him.
A whine of displeasure echoes from my chest as he suddenly pulls out, my pussy throbbing at the loss. He doesn't wait long, though, rolling me back onto my back before he hikes my legs up onto his shoulders, thrusting roughly back into me. With the new angle, whole other waves of pleasure ripple through me, his cock hitting the very spot that brings me crashing towards an orgasm. The sound of skin slapping together fills the room, along with obscenely wet noises and moans from the two of us, both too caught up in the moment to care about what comes after.
"You're getting tighter, (Y/n)...gonna cum for me, are you?" Dutch groans, his thrusts becoming erratic as my pleasure rapidly builds, "Come on, (Y/n), cum for me!"
With a final scream of ecstasy, the tension inside me snaps and I cum, hard, my walls clenching like a vice around him. White light blinds me, everything disappearing around me as the pleasure floods through me in a great torrent, rendering me incapable of moving momentarily.
Vaguely, I feel Dutch pound into me a few more times before he pulls out and cums over my stomach, letting out a roar of satisfaction at the sensation, his hand wrapped around himself, jerking his cock desperately. Breathing heavily, he milks himself dry before he slumps over me, smearing the sticky substance between us, the two of us left breathless in the throes of our pleasure.
"Still as good as I remember." He hums, rolling off of me to lie beside me.
"Could say the same thing." I sigh, trailing a finger through his cooling cum, grimacing at the sight of it.
Groaning, I heave myself up, taking the towel up from the floor.
"Where are you going?" Dutch asks, still lounging on the bed.
"Shower. You should, too." I inform him, moving to leave, only to stop still as the door swings open.
"(Y/n)? Who are you- oh." Poncho blushes a deep red, grimacing as he swiftly ducks back out of the room.
"Oh shit…" I groan, putting my head in my hands, unable to bite back a small smile.
With just grins, leaning back on his hands.
"Oops."

i have an idea for a request (it’s totally ok if you don’t want to do it) like an angst-> fluff where one of harry’s songs accidentally gets leaked bc of y/n like she has something on a flash drive and the song is on another and they get mixed up and obviously he’s really mad at y/n and they have a fight he’s super snappy with her but something happens to her like she gets into a really big accidental or something and he forgives her bc he cares about her more tha the leaked song
WC: 2.7k
***
Damage control wasn’t even an option.
Y/n sat there, staring at Harry’s laptop, numb to everything except the blaring desire to go back in time just two minutes. Two minutes is all she would need to undo possibly the biggest screwup of her life.
And the worst part is that this mistake ultimately doesn’t affect her. At least not in comparison to how it will affect Harry. And his band. And his team. Basically everyone involved with his career.
Her mind is equally begging for her to shut down and come up with a plan—an excuse—something, Is there anyway this wasn’t my fault?
She checks the time, her heart sinking to her stomach when she realizes Harry and his team will be back any minute. Any minute and she’s done for.
They’ve only been together for five months, officially. She’s still new to most everyone. She’s that girl Harry’s dating.
“I told you he played in that movie.” Jeff’s voice echoes outside the studio. Y/n closes the laptop and prays for strength.
“I have him confused with someone else.” Harry bustles through the door, a small crowd of people filing in behind him, back to the spots they left an hour ago. “Hey darling,” he greets, “finish your paper?”
Y/n’s frozen, morbidly wishing he had found out about his song leaking on his own so she wouldn’t have to tell him. “Uh, almost.”
He kisses the top of her head and hands her a cup of frozen yogurt. “Your favorite.”
“Thanks.” She sets it on the table she’s sat at while Harry pulls up a chair beside her. “Aren’t you guys still working?”
He waves in the direction of his band, “Mitch’s gotta fix his guitar.” He snickers, and slides his laptop out from under y/n’s hands. “Had a bit of an accident in the car.”
Y/n’s head tingles with what must be nerve damage, her place in this world, her place in this room, decreasing in value as Harry opens his computer.
“It’s gonna melt.” He nods to her yogurt.
“I’m not hungry.”
He furrows his brow. “You alright?”
“Mhm.” She looks around the room, everyone busy getting back to work, light chatter passing among them. “Uh, actually, I uh, I have to tell you something.” Y/n tries to swallow the lump in her throat with no luck.
“Okay…” He shuts the laptop and gives her his full attention.
“Okay, um—”
“What the fuck!?” The room freezes as everyone turns toward Jeff. “Harry someone’s got a hold of your song!”
Harry scrambles to his manager, complete shock on his face as they both stare down at Jeff’s phone. “Fuck.” They start to play a video, the sound of a girl screaming, with Harry’s unconsented voice playing in the background, fills the room. “How the hell did this happen?” He’s gritting through his teeth, neck red, veins bulging in his hands as he rips the phone out of Jeff’s hand. “HOW? Someone answer me!”
Y/N considers keeping quiet. Playing innocent. What good will it do to confess anyway? It’s not like it’ll undo what she’s done.
Sarah chimes in from across the room, “It looks like it happened half an hour ago. That’s when this video I’m looking at was posted.”
Y/n’s staring down at her lap, holding her head up with her fingers pressed into her temples when Harry slings himself back into the chair next to her.
“All that work, all that fucking work,” he nearly growls, “for some cunt to spread my unfinished song around for a buck.”
Y/n peers up to the room, a completely different picture compared to five minutes ago. Now there’s talk of lawyers and pressing charges while everyone shuffles around. Jeff slams the door as he steps out with his phone to his ear, and y/n knows she can’t claim denial, it’ll only make things worse.
“Uh, Harry?”
“What is it?” He doesn’t look at her, eyes glaring at his phone while another video plays of a group of people reacting to his song. “Glad they fucking like it.”
“Harry?”
“What, y/n?”
She shrinks under his gaze, mouth dry as she forces her confession out. “I uh, this is all my fault.”
“What are you talking about?”
“I’m so, so sorry. And I’ll do anything—I know I can’t fix it—but...”
Harry’s tongue presses against the inside of his cheek, his eyes narrowing in on her as a morbid silence forms a little bubble around them. “Go on,” he whispers with grit, “finish what you were gonna say.”
She stutters, desperately trying to figure him out. “I’m just sorry. It was an accident.”
“An accident? How did you even manage to do this?”
“I—”
“Do you have any idea what this accident means, y/n?”
She reluctantly shakes her head no.
“How the fuck did you do this?”
“I—I don’t know...I was taking a break from my paper, and, I don’t know Harry.” She’s in tears now, warm and salty as they spill down her cheeks. Her mouth wobbles around another apology, but no sounds make it out.
“Fix it.”
“What?”
He stands up, yanking his laptop off the table, pausing to glare at her one last time. “I said, to fix it.” With that he storms across the room, slinging the door open just as Jeff reenters.
“Harry, your attorney—”
“Forget it.” He turns around and points his phone towards y/n silently sobbing in the corner. “She’s gonna handle it.” He takes one step out into the hall and stops, spinning on his heels to face the studio. “Don’t speak to me until you do.”
Mitch’s guitar that was fixed and propped against the wall, crashes to the floor when Harry slams the door.
Chatter passes around the room one more time, only now everyone seems to be in agreeance—that girl never should have been allowed in the studio, and maybe, Harry should break up with her.
***
Early morning rain fell outside Harry’s apartment. It was still dark, street lamps burning through the fog in the city below. His home fills with coffee as he pours his fifth cup; the prior four never offering more than a few sips before he had abandoned them somewhere, the counter, mantle, bookshelf, because he can’t talk without his hands.
Y/n sits on his couch. It’s velvet and pink and too big for one person. She hated it the first time he invited her over. If he breaks up with her, she’s going to tell him how ugly it is.
“I don’t know what you expect me to do.” She’s exhausted. She hadn’t hesitated to drive over when he finally responded to one of her hundreds of texts in the week since the mishap. But now she regrets it. They’ve been going in circles with the same argument for the past four hours. She’s convinced he invited her over just to be mean. She sighs, rubbing her temples. “I said I was sorry. You know that I’m sorry. And you know that I never, ever in a million years, would have done something like this on purpose.”
“I’m allowed to be angry with you. I have every right to be.”
“Do you, though?” She straightens up on his ugly couch and looks at him leaning against the doorframe that leads into the kitchen. “Aren’t you a little tired of hating me? God Harry, everyone else in the whole world has moved on except you.”
“It’s not everyone else’s song, is it? It’s not everyone else’s months and months of hard work. It’s not everyone else’s unfinished art? Nobody else is having to deal with a girlfriend that is so careless, so thoughtless, that she actually managed to leak my song!”
“Stop raising your voice at me!”
“You had no business snooping around my computer anyway! I told you you could work on your fucking paper, not to go prying around my personal shit!”
“You know what,” she scoffs, shooting up off the couch, “this argument is so pointless. You didn’t want me here so we could talk. You just wanted to torture me because you’re mad that people don’t love your stupid song.”
“What the fuck did you say?”
She brushes his shoulder as she passes by him, and a drip of his coffee spills onto his hand. He curses, and follows her into the kitchen where he lays his final cup down on the island.
“You’re being a baby because people aren’t fawning over you like they usually do.” She shrugs and slings her bag over her shoulder. “It’s not your best song, Harry.”
The veins in his neck strain against his flaming skin. His cheeks are sucked in, and if he bites down on the skin any harder he’ll puncture his face. “Get the fuck out.”
“I was already leaving, dumb ass.” She strides by him once more, practically feeling the heat steaming off his body. When she gets to the front door, she pauses with her hand on the knob. “Your couch is hideous, by the way. Just because you’re rich doesn’t mean you have to buy shitty looking stuff.”
When she slams the door behind her, the apartment shakes, and cold coffee spills from each cup.
***
It’s nearing five a.m. when y/n backs out of the complex. Her wipers race across the windshield, but do nothing against the downpour wreaking havoc in the city. She does her best to stay on what she assumes is her side of the road, swerving to the right each time headlights blind her.
“Shit.” Nothing is open, and she can’t even see where it would be safe to pull over to let the rain pass. But her home isn’t that far, and traffic isn’t too bad.
She comes to a stop at a red light, only to realize she missed a left turn she should’ve made a minute ago. “Damn it. Fucking hell.”
As soon as the light turns green, she spins the wheel to make a U-turn, and if it hadn’t been for the rain, and her own clouded mind, and Harry’s voice echoing in her ears, she might have seen the truck who didn’t even try to avoid her.
***
It’s the headache from hell that wakes her up. And it’s the sterile smell of hospital that jogs her memory. And it’s a nurse not much older than y/n that says something about you’re lucky to be alive.
She’s poked and prodded and asked a thousand questions before her IV is adjusted and a pill to ease one of the many pains scratching her body is handed to her in a small plastic cup. A police officer repeats half of this process, and somewhere in the mess of her reality, she learns that the other driver was sending a text to his wife when he plowed into her car. He’s at home and she’s here. Lucky to be alive.
She made calls to her mom and friends, and even managed to type out a decent email to her professors for her upcoming absence in class.
When she automatically pulled up Harry’s name on her phone, the last text he sent, the one inviting her over so he could make her more miserable than she already was, sat there in all its taunting glory.
What is she even supposed to say? Hey, I know you hate my existence right now, but I’m lying here in a hospital bed with bandages wrapped around my head. It’d be cool if you stopped by.
It’s not long before the sun pops up and reminds y/n of just how early it is. The clouds part, and it’s like it had never even rained, like it had never even been dark for hours, and if she closes her eyes, y/n can pretend that the past week hadn’t even happened.
***
“How are you feeling today?” The nurse checks y/n’s IV, humming after her question.
“Just sore. Ready to get out of here.”
“We’ve started the paperwork, so shouldn’t be too long. Who’s coming to get you?”
Y/n blinks, feeling stupid she hadn’t thought this far ahead. She doesn’t even have a car anymore. The nurse looks over the computer monitor, waiting for a response.
“Uh, my friend.”
“Awesome. Dr. Kirby has to come check on you one last time before you leave. I’ll go see if he can stop by now, if you want to let your friend know.”
As soon as the nurse is out the door, y/n scrambles to turn her phone back on, and once it is, her lock screen is filled with missed calls and unanswered texts.
She’ll respond later; gives her something to do in the car to occupy her in front of Harry.
She can’t call him. Harry’s not a monster, although the past week doesn’t exactly prove her case, but she knows he wouldn’t refuse to come get her. If anything, he’ll be annoyed she didn’t tell him about the accident sooner. But she’s too emotional to deal with hearing his voice.
She types out a text recounting her last 24 hours, along with the name of the hospital. He immediately reads it, and a moment later he’s trying to call.
To: Harry
I’m too tired to talk rn
She lies. And it works.
From: Harry
I’ll be there as fast as i can
***
“Baby?”
Y/n cracks her eyes open, irritated she never quite fell asleep. Confused as to why Harry’s calling her baby. Angry that she cares. And the next words out of his mouth are ones she’d been predicting.
“Why didn’t you call me? I would’ve dropped everything. You’ve been here all alone, shit. Are you okay? What hurts?”
He’s hovering over her, fidgeting, unsure if he can touch her.
“I’m fine now. Just sore. And tired.”
“Fuck I can’t believe this, I—”
“The doctor already said I can go. I’m not allowed to walk out on my own, so, you need to let the nurse know you’re here. She’ll take me down in a wheelchair.”
“Baby I’m so sorry-”
“No, Harry. You would still be busy hating my guts right now—”
“Hate you? I don’t hate you?”
“Well you did a great job this week making me feel otherwise.”
Harry sighs, gripping the bed frame and dropping his chin to his chest. When he looks back up he has tears brimming his eyes. “I’m sorry,” his voice cracks. “I know I’ve been an ass this week. I—you were right. I took out my anger from no one lovin’ the song on you.”
“Well it’s not no one. A lot of people did. And it’s unfinished anyway. You wouldn’t enjoy a meal if it was only cooked halfway.”
He nods, but y/n knows he’s only accepting her words because of the situation.
“You mean so much more to me than a leaked song. I’m sorry I treated you like shit. And that I—I made you think I hated you. You have every right to hate me.”
“You annoy the hell out of me, but I don’t hate you.”
His lips twitch, but a few tears slide down his cheeks. “I’m sorry.”
“I know.” She takes his hand off the rail and smoothes her thumb across his knuckles. “You can make it up to me by getting me out of here.”
“I can do that.” He kisses the top of her head and hits the remote to call for the nurse.
“You can really kiss me, y’know. I’m not gonna break.”
He’s hesitant, but slowly lowers his head to press his lips to hers. He’s timid, and his lips are still damp from tears, but it’s more relieving than either of them would ever admit.
The nurse ends their moment when she pops in the room, pushing a wheelchair in front of her. “Hi, you must be y/n’s friend.”
“Friend?” He peers down at y/n, suggestion lacing the word. “Care to explain?”
“Not really, I’m so tired.”
“Mhm.” He clicks his tongue, supporting her arm as she swings her legs off the bed. Once she’s standing and steady, he tucks her hair behind her ear and bends down so his mouth can graze her lobe. “Since we’re just friends, I guess you’ll have to sleep on my ugly couch.”

All other characters in this story are my own. Thank you @denisemarieangelina for reading and being my sounding board for all things Disney!
“Slow down, Princess” Andy laughed as Ava all but dragged him towards the entrance to Magic Kingdom. “It’s not going anywhere.”
“Someone sure is excited to get to Disney!” Your mom laughed, walking behind with you, Jacob and your dad.
She wasn’t wrong. Ava had been a ball of excitement since you’d gotten on the plane to fly to Orlando. You were staying on property at the Contemporary Resort, so the Disney magic had started at the airport when you’d boarded the Disney bus to head to the hotel. Once you’d arrived, she’d discovered several gifts on her bed of the hotel, including a breakfast reservation with all of the princesses.
“I can’t be late to meet the princesses! Hurry!” She begged.
“We have plenty of time, Monkey” You assured her, “We have early entry to the park, and breakfast isn’t for another hour.”
That seemed to satisfy her some, as she slowed down at least. You all made your way into the park and started out on Main Street, looking in some of the shops. Soon, it was time to make your way over to breakfast at Cinderella’s Castle. Ava was beyond excited at this point. Jacob walked ahead with her, holding her hand so she didn’t get too far ahead of everyone.
“She’s in heaven.” Andy said, smiling at Ava as she interacted with all of the princesses. “I love seeing her so happy.”
“She’ll be on cloud nine for the rest of the day, and probably the trip.” You agreed.
“This just might be the highlight of her entire year.” Your dad laughed.
After breakfast, you moved through more of the park until lunch time. By then Ava was starting to get tired, so you and Andy took her back to the hotel to rest for a bit. Your parents stayed at the park with Jacob, continuing to explore the park.
Ava was already asleep when you got to the hotel. Andy carried her to the room and gently laid her on the bed.
“We’ll let her recharge her batteries and then we can head back for some more.” You said, “I know she won’t want to miss the parade or the fireworks later.”
While Ava slept, you and Andy ate a light lunch on the balcony of the room and enjoyed some quiet time together. Once Ava woke up, you got her some lunch and the three of you headed back into the park to meet up with Jacob and your parents.
You spend the afternoon going through the park,meeting all the characters, and riding as many rides as possible. By the time the parade begins, you’re convinced Ava and Jacob are both riding a permanent sugar high. You’ve never laughed so much as you did watching the two of them go through Disney together.
You snap lots of pictures of the various floats and characters as they go by. Being Christmastime, all of the floats and characters were decked out in holiday decorations. It made an already magical place, extra special.
“I love that Jake is having just as much fun as Ava, even though he’s a teenager.” Andy said, wrapping arms around you and resting his chin on your head. “I always wanted to bring him, but Laurie never seemed interested.”
“Well, we can make up for lost time now.” You promised, “We can make it our mission to visit during all of the holidays at least once. Or at least visit once in every season.”
“We may need to look at an annual pass,” Andy laughed, “But I’m sure Ava and Jacob would both like that plan.”
“I think you’re right.” You agreed, “They’ve both caught the Disney Magic, and I don’t think there’s a cure.”
“Mommy, when do the fireworks start?” Ava asked, turning to look at you from her perch on a nearby bench. Jacob was standing next to her, ensuring she didn’t fall.
“Soon, Monkey” You replied, “It’s after the light parade and when it gets just a little bit darker.”
“You’re going to love this Ava!” Jacob said, “I watched a YouTube video of it and I bet it’s even better in person!”
Jacob wasn’t wrong, the fireworks show was breathtaking. They were both mesmerized the entire show. You and Andy kept stealing glances at one another from over the tops of the kids’ heads. Once the show was over you started the trek back to the monorail to head back to the hotel. Jacob gave Ava a piggy back ride, as she was beyond exhausted while you and Andy walked behind them, and your parents walked in front of them.
Once back at the hotel, your parents went to their suite next to yours and the four of you headed into your suite. Ava was half asleep on Jacob’s back. Andy carefully lifted her off and carried her to one of the bedrooms.
“Do we need to wake her up to use the bathroom or change?” Andy asked you, gently laying her down on the bed and carefully pulling her shoes off.
“She should be ok as she is.” You replied, smiling at how loving and gentle he was with her.
“I’m going to crash too.” Jacob said, coming in and flopping down onto the other bed. “Thank you for bringing us. Today was a lot of fun.”
“I’m glad you enjoyed it.” Andy smiled at Jacob, “Sorry it took so long to get you here, Pal.”
“It’s better this way.” He replied, “It’ll only be good memories. Not tainted.”
“We love you, Jacob” You said gently, “There’s a lot more happy memories to be made, get some sleep sweetheart.”
You and Andy made your way out of their room, into the sitting area of the suite. He grabbed your hand and gently pulled you to the sofa, sitting down and pulling you into his lap.
“The past 3 months have been so amazing, I keep forgetting he’s still healing and coming to terms with everything that happened.” Andy sighed, wrapping his arms around your waist and resting his head against yours. You wound your arms around him, your fingers gently threading in this hair.
“I have no doubt that there’s still a long road to recovery for him, but I can assure you, he’s come so far the last few months.” You reassure him. “He’s resilient, strong, and has a huge heart. He also has an amazing dad in his corner. And now he has Ava and me who will always be there for him, and pseudo grandparents.”
“I love you, Sweetheart.” Andy said, his lips finding your own.
“I love you too, Andy.” You replied between kisses. You both stayed on the couch for a while, enjoying the stillness of the night and being in each other’s arms. Eventually you made your way to the second bedroom in the suite and fell into an exhausted sleep curled into each other.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning was Christmas Eve. You’d all decided to order room service for breakfast before heading to Animal Kingdom for the day.
While waiting on breakfast to get delivered to the room, you and Ava go into the bathroom where you braid her hair for her in an Elsa style braid per her request. Once finished, she goes out to join Jacob to plan out what they want to see that day. You quickly finish getting ready and then join everyone in the common area of the suite.
After the food arrives, you help Andy get it all set up on the table for everyone. While setting the table you and Andy overhear Ava asking Jacob about Santa.
“Jakey,” Ava asked softly, “Will Santa be able to find me here at the hotel? And how will he get in? There’s no fireplace here… and we don’t have stockings or a tree!”
“He knows where we’re at, Kiddo.” He reassured her, “And he’s got magic, remember? He doesn’t need a fireplace to get in.”
“But what about the stockings and the tree?” She asked, not convinced, “Those are still at home.”
“We’re at Disney” He replied, “Between Disney magic and Santa’s magic, I think it’ll be covered.”
“Promise?” She asked, holding out her pinky to Jacob.
“Promise.” he said, linking his pinky with hers.
You looked at Andy, worried. You hadn’t thought about this aspect of being away for Christmas. Of course Ava would be worried about Santa not coming and being upset about not having the tree and stockings up.
“I’ll take care of it.” Andy whispered, reassuring you. He pulled you close and leaned in to kiss your forehead. “Trust me.”
“Always” You replied, smiling.
“Who’s ready for more Disney today?” Your dad said coming in through the suite door. “I hear Animal Kingdom is on tap for the day!”
“ME!” Ava said, jumping up and running over to hug him. “I can’t wait to see the animals and go on the safari! Jacob showed me a video!”
“I’ll bet it’s going to be another fun-filled day!” Your mom said. “And I heard one of the hotel workers say they’re preparing a giant batch of cookies for a certain someone who’ll be stopping by with presents tonight!”
“Really?” Ava asked, “Mommy! We need some of those cookies!”
“I’ll look into it Monkey.” You promised. “Let’s eat so we can get over to Animal Kingdom.”
Once everyone had finished eating you all headed down to the front of the hotel to catch the shuttle bus to Animal Kingdom.
Jacob and Ava wanted to do the safari first when you arrived so you headed over there.
“It’s kinda like when we first met at the zoo.” Jacob said, smiling at Ava. “Not a train, but still cool.”
“That was the best day EVER!” Ava exclaimed, “Mommy and I got you and Andy that day!”
“You sure did, Princess.” Andy said, smiling lovingly at her. “You and your Mommy captured our hearts that day for sure.”
“Definitely the best day.” You said, wiping a stray tear from your eyes, smiling.
The safari was incredible. It was fun watching Jacob and Ava point out the animals and bonding over animals again.
“Those two have such an amazing bond.” Your mom said once you’d finished the safari. “They remind me of you and your brother when you were little.”
“They really do.” You agreed, “It makes my heart melt watching them together.”
“They’ve definitely already adopted one another.” Andy added. “I love getting to see Jake in a protective big brother role.”
“He’s got the role down pat for sure.” Your dad winked at Andy.
You headed to Pandora the world of Avatar next and spent a few hours there, before grabbing lunch and continuing on to the rest of the park.
You decided to head back to the hotel before dinner time, opting to eat at the hotel rather than Animal Kingdom.
While you headed to the pick up area to catch the bus, Andy nodded at Jacob who smiled and walked ahead with Ava a little bit in order to talk to her.
“It’s time, Kiddo.” He whispered, “Remember what dad wants you to say?”
“Yes!” She whispered back, excitedly. “I need to go to Cinderella’s wishing well and make a wish!”
“Good job.” He smiled at her, “Make sure to really sell it!”
They stopped at the bus pick up and waited for everyone to catch up. The trip back to the hotel didn’t take too long. When they arrived back and got off the bus, Andy winked at Ava over your shoulder.
“MOMMY!” Ava exclaimed, “We have to go back to the Magic Kingdom! I have to go to Cinderella’s wishing well!”
“Ok, Monkey” You said, amused, “We can go back tomorrow.”
“NO!” She insisted, “I have to go TONIGHT! It’s Christmas EVE and Jacob said that Disney magic AND Santa magic are EXTRA special. So I HAVE to make the wish tonight. Pleeeeeaaasssseee?”
“How about we take the monorail and go to the wishing well then just get dinner at the Magic Kingdom tonight?” Andy suggested, “It’s still early enough.”
“We can see if there is availability to eat at Cinderella’s Royal Table.” Your mom suggested, “I know our little Princess would love that.”
“Sounds like fun to me!” Jacob said, “We can see the fireworks show again!”
“Ok then,” You laughed, “I guess we’re not done with Disney today just yet.”
“YAY!” Ava yelled, happily. “Let’s go! Let’s go!” She tugged Jacob’s hand and started moving to the monorail.
“You know we can’t always give in though, right?” You asked Andy, laughing, “We’re creating a monster here.”
“I know, but it’s Christmas.” Andy shrugged, smiling, “And it’s Disney.”
“Wrapped around her little finger.” you laughed
“Possibly.” He agreed. “Come on, let’s go experience some more magic.”
You rode the monorail into the Magic Kingdom and immediately headed towards Cinderella’s wishing well for Ava.
“While we’re here did you want to go on any of the rides again or see anything else?” You asked the kids.
“Nope! Just the wishing well!” Ava said, “And what Nana said for dinner. I like that!”
“I’m good.” Jacob agreed, “We’re doing Epcot tomorrow for Christmas around the world”?
“Yup!” You confirmed, “We’ll do breakfast and presents in the morning and then head to Epcot later.”
“Cool.” he smiled. “There was a shop I kinda wanted to go back to on Main Street if that’s ok on our way out?”
“Of course!” You said, “We can stop after dinner. I may pick up some treats from the candy shop too.”
“Now who has whom wrapped around their finger?” Andy teased you, mimicking your earlier words.
“Hush” You laughed, “Not the same thing.”
“Uh huh.” He nodded, smirking. “Your argument is weak, my love.”
Once you arrived at the wishing well your mom and dad walked up with Ava and Jacob giving them each coins to toss into the well.
“Andy and Bri, you make wishes too.” Your mom said smiling, her hand holding out two more coins. You and Andy reached over and took the coins.
“You have to hold the coin in your hand really tight” Ava told Jacob, “Squeeze your eyes close and think REALLY hard about what you want to wish for. If you think about it and wish hard enough, it’ll come true!”
Jacob followed her instructions and made his wish, tossing the coin into the well. Ava made her wish next, tossing her coin into the well.
“Your turn Mommy!” Ava said, “Make a wish! Close your eyes REALLY REALLY tight and wish SUPER hard!”
Andy smiled at her, winking. You laughed, then closed your eyes tightly and made a show about really thinking about your wish, wanting to make Ava happy. In reality, you already had everything you could wish for. You finally tossed your coin into the well, opening your eyes.
“Ok, Andy…” You said, turning around to face him, your words getting stuck when you saw him.
While you were making your wish, Andy pulled the ring he’d been holding onto out of his pocket and had dropped down to one knee.
“Everything I could possibly wish for is already right here with me, Bri.” He said, his voice full of emotion. “I never really believed in second chances or in happily ever after until I was lucky enough to meet you and Ava. I was determined to be the best dad I could to Jacob and make our own happiness. We moved here for a fresh start, and I was given that and so much more. You embraced Jacob and he immediately started healing, and finding himself again. I was probably already half in love with you when we met for that reason alone. I fell completely in love with you the day in the zoo. Watching you with Ava and Jacob, I knew that’s what a mother’s love was supposed to look like. My heart was also captured by a little Princess that day. Bri, I love you completely with everything that I am. I love Ava as if she were my own. I love our little family that we’ve created. I want nothing more than to spend the rest of our lives together, raising these two crazy kids, and any more that may come along.”
You wiped at the tears now steadily streaming down your face at his words. Your heart bursting with love for him.
“Briella James, will you marry me?” Andy asked, smiling up at you, his eyes brimming with love for you.
“YES!” You exclaimed happily through your tears. Andy slipped the ring on your finger and then stood up, pulling you to him and kissing you.
You could hear loud applause all around from your parents, Jacob and Ava, but also from many strangers who had witnessed the proposal.
“I love you too, Andy.” You said when you could regained your composure. “More than I can possibly put into words.”
“Congratulations you two!” Your mom and dad said, coming over to hug you. Ava bounded over and threw herself into Andy’s arms hugging him tightly.
“I’m really glad you said yes.” Jacob said hugging you, “I mean I figured you would, but I’m still really glad. I love you Bri.”
“I love you too, Jacob.” You replied, a fresh wave of tears springing to your eyes.
“My wish came true!” Ave laughed happily, “Jacob was right! Disney magic and Christmas magic together makes the wish more powerful!”
“We have reservations at Cinderella’s Royal Table in 20 minutes.” Your dad said, winking at you. “Let’s get some pictures and then we can head over.”
Your parents snapped pictures of you and Andy and then of you both with the kids before a very helpful cast member came over and offered to take a picture of everyone together. One you were done with pictures, you made your way to dinner.
Like the princess breakfast, Ava was enamored by everything at dinner. It was fun to see her so excited. You kept sneaking peeks at your left hand, smiling whenever you saw your ring. Andy saw you looking and smiled widely.
After dinner, you all went to the shops on Main Street for some last minute shopping. Once you were all done you decided to skip the fireworks show again and head back to the hotel. Ava was anxious to pick up cookies and place them out for Santa and it had been a very eventful day.
The trip back was quick as most people were staying until the park closed. When you entered the hotel you took Ava to go get some cookies while everyone else headed up to the rooms. You knew Andy had something planned for her, but he hadn’t let you in on exactly what the surprise was.
Once Ava picked out the perfect cookies for Santa you headed up to the suite. When you walked in you both let out surprised gasps. While you’d been gone today, your suite had been turned into a Christmas wonderland. It could almost rival the North Pole. In one corner of the common space, a large tree had been set up and decorated. Garland was strung around the suite, what looked like mistletoe was hung by the balcony doors and on one wall, stockings were hung. The stockings were all Disney themed and had everyone’s names embroidered on them.
“MOMMY!” Ava exclaimed, “It’s BEAUTIFUL!”
“It really is, Monkey.” You agreed, “It’s perfect.” You looked over at Andy, smiling. You walked over to him and wrapped your arms around him, pulling him down so you could kiss him. “Thank you.” You whispered.
“Of course,” he replied, kissing you back. “Anything to put a smile on our Princess’ face.”
Jacob helped Ava get the cookies on a plate and placed a small carton of Milk next to it with a note. Ava had written the note to Santa earlier in the day and sealed it in a hotel envelope so we couldn’t see it. She insisted it was for Santa only.
“Alright, Princess,” Andy said, “Time to get ready for bed and head off to dreamland so Santa can come.”
“Ok!” She said, hopping up and heading into the bathroom to brush her teeth and change.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen her that willing to go to bed before.” You laughed.
Your parents said goodnight and headed to their room, and Jacob went and got ready for bed after Ava was finished.
When both kids were ready for bed you went in to tuck Ava into bed.
“Mommy, can Jacob read me a bedtime story first?” Ava asked.
“That’s up to him, Monkey.” You said, “But off to sleep you go after one story.”
“I’ll read to you, Kiddo.” Jacob agreed. “Goodnight Bri.”
“Goodnight Jacob,” You smiled, “You’re already such an amazing big brother.”
“She makes it easy.” He shrugged, smiling bashfully.
“Good night Mommy!” Ava said, “I love you!”
“Goodnight, Monkey.” You replied, “I love you too. And I love you, Jacob.”
“Love you too.” He said smiling and grabbing a book to read to Ava.
You backed out of their room, quietly closing the door, and headed to your room to change and help Andy get everything set up for Ava for morning from Santa.
“Just when I think I can’t possibly love you any more than I already do, you go and prove me wrong.” You said wrapping your arms around Andy’s waist from behind and dropping a kiss on his shoulder blade. He turned in your arms and cupped your face gently in his hands, leaning down to kiss you softly.
“I love you too, Sweetheart.” He replied, leaning in to capture your lips again.
“How did I get so lucky that I get forever with you, my incredible fiance?” You asked.
“The luck is all mine, my beautiful future wife.” He replied.
Smiling, you both set to work filling stockings and getting all the gifts and Santa gifts under the tree. When you were about done, you noticed Andy pulling a small box out of a Disney bag that you didn’t remember picking up.
“I wanted to ask you something.” Andy said, looking almost as nervous as when he proposed.
“I already said, ‘Yes’.” You teased him.
“And I’m really glad you did, or this would be super awkward” He laughed, letting out a breath he’d been holding and sitting down on the bed. “I saw this necklace the day that I found your ring, and immediately knew I was going to get it for Ava. I know that by getting married, we are both gaining another child. I love Ava as if she were already mine, and I wanted to ask you, before asking her, if once we’re married, if I could legally adopt her? I want her to officially be my daughter.”
“Andy, of course you can!” You said, wrapping your arms around his neck and kissing him. “I love that you love her and want to adopt her. And I know she’ll be ecstatic when you ask her. She already looks at you like her dad.”
“Think she’ll like the necklace?” He asked, opening the box to show you. Inside the box was a delicate silver chain with a locket and tiara charm. You carefully opened the locket and inside there was a tiny picture of the two of them that’d been taken at her birthday party on one side and on the other side it said ‘Daddy’s Princess’.
“She will love it.” You confirmed, “Almost as much as she already loves you.” You put the necklace back into the box and wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him down to kiss him. “You’re perfect, my love.”
“Far from perfect, but given a lifetime with you, I may get closer to it.” He replied.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning you were woken up to Ava bounding into your room and jumping onto the bed.
“SANTA CAME!” She exclaimed, “WAKE UP! WAKE UP! IT’S CHRISTMAS!”
“We’re awake, Princess.” Andy laughed, grabbing her and pulling her down between the two of you, tickling her. “Give us a minute and we’ll be right out to see what Santa left for you.”
“HURRY!” She ordered, laughing and running off into the common area.
“Guess that’s our wake up call.” You laughed, looking at the clock next to the bed. “At least she waited until 6:30. Last year she had me up at 5.”
“I have a feeling Jacob may have been keeping her contained for a bit.” Andy guessed.
“That would make more sense.” You agreed, “Let’s go before she comes back in.”
The two of you made your way out the other room. You stopped quickly to start coffee on your way.
“Ok, dig into the stockings” You said, “Everything else waits until Nana and Papa are over here.”
You all looked through your stockings, loving the variety of treats, and small gifts that filled each one. While you were all engaged in stockings your parents came over and joined you all.
“YAY!” Ava said happily, running over to hug her grandparents. “Nana and Papa are here so we can open ALL the presents!”
“To be young and have that much energy again.” Your dad laughed.
“You’re not wrong.” Andy agreed, “If we could bottle an ounce of her energy we could make millions.”
“I don’t know if I could even handle THAT much energy.” Your mom replied.
“Alright Monkey, we’ll do presents and then breakfast” You said.
Lots of paper and ribbons later, you were down to the last couple of gifts. Jacob handed you a package at the same time that Andy handed Ava the small box.
“This is for you Princess.” Andy said. He sat down next to hear while she tore the wrapping off and opened the box.
“It’s BEAUTIFUL!” She exclaimed, beaming at Andy. “Thank you so much!”
“Open it, Monkey.” You encouraged her, tears already filling your eyes. Knowing something big was about to happen, your mom had her cell phone out recording the moment.
Ava carefully opened up the locket and saw the picture of her and Andy from her party. She was still new with reading but was good at sounding things out, and could recognize words she was more familiar with, so you weren’t surprised when she was able to read the inside of the locket.
“Daddy’s Little Princess.” She read aloud, slowly and quietly. She paused for a moment, then looked up at Andy, then to you. You nodded to her encouragingly. “You… want to be my... Daddy?”
“I very much want to be your Daddy, Princess.” Andy said, his voice thick with emotion, “If that’s OK with you?”
“YES!” She exclaimed, launching herself into his arms, her own winding around his neck tightly. “I love you, Daddy!”
“I love you too, Princess.” He replied, tears slipping down his cheeks. Your own were wet with tears, as well. Your heart was bursting with happiness. “Your mommy and I talked and she said that I could adopt you. That means officially you’ll be my daughter too, and as soon as Mommy and I are married, we can change both hers and your last name to Barber.”
“And Jacob will be my brother for REAL?” She asked happily.
“I’m already your brother for real Kiddo.” Jacob said coming over to hug her.
“Yes he is.” Andy confirmed.
“Bri, open yours next.” Jacob said.
You smiled, picking up the package again and carefully unwrapping it. You opened the box and moved the tissue paper aside. Nestled in the paper was a bracelet with several charms on it. You looked at the charms closely, tears once more springing to your eyes. In the middle was a charm that said ‘Mom’, with the O being minnie mouse. On each side of that charm were birthstone charms. One for Ava and one for Jacob.
“Jacob…” you said, your voice horse from emotion, “this is so beautiful. Thank You!” You reach over and pull him into a hug.
“There’s more” he whispered as he hugged you back. He pulled away and you looked back down into the box. Tucked in with the bracelet was a folded up piece of paper. You took it out, carefully unfolding it. After the first few lines you read you realized what you were reading. Your head shot up and you caught Andy’s eye over Jacob’s head. He had tears still gathered in his eyes and he nodded slightly, letting you know he knew about the paper. You assumed Andy had been responsible for having the paper formally drafted, but it was a petition of adoption.
“Jacob…” You said, “If you’re sure this is what you want, I would be honored to adopt you and be your mom. I love you, Sweetheart.”
“I’m sure.” He said firmly, “I love you too. You’ve been more of a mom to me in the last 5 months than my biological mother was in 14 years. I know what a mom is supposed to be since I met you.”
You hugged him tightly, as though you could put all his pieces back together again in that one hug. You knew it would take time, but you swore you’d help to undo the damage that Laurie had done to him.
“I think this has been the best Christmas in a long time.” Your dad said, voice breaking with emotion.
“There’s only the best yet to come.” Andy said, sitting next to you and Jacob with Ava on his lap.
“Papa is right!” Ava declared, “I wished on my birthday candles that we’d be a real family, and then I asked Santa this year to make Andy my Daddy and Jacob my big brother!”
“It looks like the birthday Fairy and Santa delivered then huh, Monkey?” You said, beaming at your daughter.
“Yup!” She agreed. “I think next, I’ll wish for a baby brother or sister!” Everyone burst out laughing. You and Andy looked at each other over her head, you’re sure your eyes were as big as saucers. He just winked and smiled.

Our Last Summer (Part 1)
pairing: wolfstar (sirius x remus)
genre: fluff & angst
warnings: none
words: 2267
note: based on the song ‘Our Last Summer’ by ABBA
a/n: this isn’t the whole thing but I haven’t finished it yet and it’s getting really long anyway so I decided to just post it in parts (i know it says fluff & angst and there’s no angst here but be patient it will come)
I can still recall our last summer, I still see it all. Walks along the Seine laughing in the rain, our last summer, memories that remain… I can still recall our last summer, I still see it all. In the tourist jam round the Notre Dame our last summer walking hand in hand
Sirius woke up smiling. Remus’ arm was still draped over him. He turned around and kissed him on the nose.
“Hey,” he whispered. “Are you awake?”
“I am now,” Remus groans.
“Sorry.”
“No, don’t be,” Remus says, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. “I like waking up next to you.” Sirius’ smile widened.
“I like waking up next to you too,” he said. He kisses Remus softly before turning to grab his wand off his bedside table and Summoning two cups of tea. He hands one to Remus and then opens the drawer of his bedside table and pulls out a large packet of dark chocolate.
“Happy anniversary,” Sirius says, giving Remus the chocolate.
“Best present ever,” Remus says, taking a bite; Sirius can’t tell if he’s being sarcastic or not.
“The day is just beginning,” he says, sipping his tea.
“Really? So what do you have planned?”
“You’ll just have to wait and see,” Sirius says mysteriously.
---------
“No way,” Remus said, shaking his head. “There is no fucking way I’m getting on that death trap.”
“Yes you are,” Sirius said, taking his hand and pulling him closer to the motorcycle. “Come on, it’ll be fun.”
“No,” Remus said. “Why can’t we just Apparate? Or take a taxi?”
“What’s a taxi?” Sirius asked.
“I swear to god, I’ve already told you at least five times,” Remus says, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“Well, it doesn’t matter because we’re riding my motorcycle,” Sirius said.
“Nope,” Remus said. “Not fucking happening.”
“Please,” Sirius pouted. “It’s not illegal, I have a license. And I promise I won’t fly. I’ll stay on the ground the whole time.” Remus still looked hesitant. “I even customised your helmet myself.” He pulled out a black helmet with ‘Moony’ written on the side in flaming block letters. It brought a little smile to Remus’ face.
“Ugh fine,” Remus said, rolling his eyes. “But this is a one-time thing.”
“Yeah, yeah, if you say so,” Sirius said. “Now come.” They climbed on the motorcycle and Remus wrapped his hands around Sirius’ waist. “Normally I would say hold on tight,” Sirius said, “but if you hold any tighter you might just squeeze me to death.”
“And if I don’t hold this tight I might just fall to my death,” Remus replied. “Now shut up and drive; I want to get this over with.”
And suddenly, they’re on the road and holy fuck Remus is terrified. He’s resting his head on Sirius’ shoulder watching the cars around them. He squints his eyes, trying to make everything appear blurry (hoping it’ll make this a little less terrifying) and yes, he’s afraid but he has to admit that the blur of lights from all the cars is actually quite beautiful. That is, until they climb on the highway and Sirius picks up the speed. Now it’s just terrifying. Remus closes his eyes and buries his head in the crook of Sirius’ neck. The smell of Sirius and the feel of his beating pulse calms Remus down a little. He knows Sirius wouldn’t suggest this if it was that dangerous; Sirius would never let anything bad happen to him.
Remus doesn’t open his eyes until he feels them slowing to a stop. When he does finally look around, he finds himself in the parking lot of what looks like a small park.
“Hey,” Sirius says, reaching a hand back and stroking Remus’ thigh. “Are you ok?”
“I’m alive, if that’s what you mean,” Remus says, letting go of Sirius so he can climb off the motorcycle. Sirius helps Remus down and takes his helmet.
“Come on, it wasn’t that bad, was it?”
“Yes, it was that fucking bad,” Remus says. “I’m never riding that thing again.”
“Hey, ‘that thing’ has a name, you know,” Sirius said, arms crossed.
“Right, sorry,” Remus said, rolling his eyes. “I’m never riding Elvendork again.”
“Wow, I can’t believe you actually remembered their name,” Sirius said, laughing.
“I can’t believe you actually named your motorcycle,” Remus said. “Now tell me what we’re doing here.”
“Come with me,” Sirius said, pulling him by the hand into the park.
“Where are we?” Remus asks, looking around.
“You’ll see,” Sirius said. He led Remus to the far end of the park where several bushes and trees made a hedge that seemed to show the end of the park. Sirius got on his hands and knees and pushed the plants out of his way as he crawled into the hedge.
“Are you serious right now?” Remus asked. As soon as the word was out of his mouth he regretted it.
“I’m always Sirius,” came the reply. “Now come on.” Remus sighed and crawled through the hedge. When he came out on the other side he saw Sirius sitting on the grass.
“What is this place?” Remus asked, looking around. If he was being honest, it looked like a little heaven. Everything was so green. The grass, the trees, the hedge they came through. It looked like something out of a painting. The colourful flowers from the trees littered the floor; Remus picked one up, walked over to Sirius and put it in his hair.
“I used to come here when I was a kid,” Sirius said, effectively surprising Remus. “I know hardly any of my stories start like that but when I was… 9, I think, my cousin Andromeda was 15. And one summer she came over to our house and she asked my parents if she could take me somewhere. I don’t know what lie she told them but whatever it was they bought it. She brought me here. She told me that a friend of hers at school had shown her this place. His dad was a park ranger and he used to come here all the time as a kid. It was just close enough to my house that we could walk here and we’d spend all day playing here. She even learnt how to use muggle money so she could buy us food.”
“The last time we did it was the year before I started Hogwarts. She was seventeen then. She showed me magic. It was incredible. She did all kinds of spells to make plants grow and stuff. It was awesome. I’d never seen magic so… raw before. It was beautiful. But then she ran away with Ted Tonks and got burnt off the tapestry so there was no way my parents would let me see her. But she wrote to me a few times to tell me to meet her here. That was how I met Ted for the first time. Turns out he was actually the one who showed Andie this place. And I met Nymphadora here as well. I used to come here alone sometimes too. I tried to bring Regulus with me once but he was scared we’d get caught. The only good memories from my childhood… they’re all from this place. I just wanted to show it to you. I mean, you took me to your childhood home but… I mean you’ve seen the Potters’ house a million times. But I guess I wasn’t really a child by the time I moved there. So I guess… I don’t know, I just wanted to share this with you.”
“Thank you,” Remus said, taking Sirius’ hand and pressing his lips to the back of his hand, “for bringing me here, I mean. This place is beautiful. Are you the only one who knows about it?”
“Oh, I doubt it,” Sirius said. “I mean, it’s not very visible but there’s no way that nobody else has ever found this place. But it was always empty whenever I came here. Which wasn’t that often I suppose.” Sirius flopped back onto the grass, dragging Remus with him. They lay on their backs looking at the sky, hands still clasped together.
“It looks like it’s going to rain,” Remus said. Sirius shrugged. It was true; the clouds had been dark all day and the smell of approaching downpour lingered in the air. But Sirius had been keeping his fingers crossed that the rain would wait until later tonight so that he could carry out his plans without any disruption.
“You hungry? We could go get some food if you want. There are muggle shops nearby. But you’ll have to handle the money cause I still have no clue how to do that.”
“Oh for fuck’s sake, if Andromeda could learn I’m sure you can too,” Remus said, as they left their little garden of Eden. “Come on, I’ll teach you.” They walked down the street looking for a coffee shop or a food vendor nearby. They found a bakery selling sandwiches so they bought two, Remus bought tea, Sirius bought coffee, and they returned to the hidden corner of the park.
“Do you get how to use the money now?” Remus asked as they walked back.
“You’ve taught me a million times, Moony, it never sticks,” Sirius said. “You just have to resign yourself to the fact that your boyfriend is a dumb bitch, no matter how hot he is.”
“Oh don’t worry, I accepted your lack of intelligence and general common sense a long time ago, Pads,” Remus said, putting an arm around Sirius as they sat back down on the grass, pulling the sandwiches out of the paper bag and laying everything out on the floor in front of them.
“No, no, you’ve got it wrong,” Sirius said, shaking his head. “I am intelligent but I’m still a dumb bitch too.”
“You’re saying you’re an oxymoron?”
“Wait, I never say I was a moron—”
“No, not a moron, an oxymoron.”
“What does that mean?” Sirius asked.
“It’s like something that juxtaposes itself,” Remus said.
“Juxta-what now?” Sirius said. Remus rolled his eyes.
“You need to read more. It’s something that contradicts itself. Phrases like awfully nice or saying that someone was found missing.”
“Oh,” Sirius said. “So yeah, that’s what I’m saying. You’re so smart, Moony. You know so many big words.”
“Literally just pick up a book,” Remus said, laughing and kissing him softly. “I promise, it’ll do you wonders.”
“Why do I doubt that?”
“Because you’re an idiot.”
“Oh we’ve circled back to that now, have we?”
---------
That was how they spent most of the day. Talking, laughing, joking, kissing, lying on the grass. It seemed like the day really was going to be perfect. Until it started raining. At first, the drops were light and they weren’t bothered by it, but soon the rain became heavy and loud and they were both getting soaked. Remus didn’t mind getting wet; he had bigger worries on his mind.
“We’re not riding a motorcycle in the rain, are we?” Remus asked, his concern leaking through his voice.
“We can wait for the rain to stop if you like,” Sirius said. “Hey, you know, it’s actually good that we came here on Elvendork because we can cut through the traffic on our way home.”
“What? No, no, no, no, no,” Remus said, shaking his head. “There’s no way that’s safe.”
“It’s perfectly safe, Moony, I’ve done it a million times,” Sirius insisted. “Just keep your eyes closed like you did before. It was cuter like that anyway.” Remus felt himself blush.
“I’m sorry,” Sirius said out of the blue. “I didn’t know it would rain.” He looked genuinely upset; Remus wasn’t sure why.
“Of course you didn’t know, Pads,” Remus laughed. “You can’t control the weather. Everything will be fine. We’ll just wait out the rain before riding home.”
“That’s not what I—” Sirius started, “never mind.”
“What is it?” Remus asked, covering Sirius’ hand with his own.
“I just… I wanted everything to be perfect today. I’m sorry I ruined our anniversary.”
“Ruin it? Sirius, what are you talking about? You didn’t ruin anything.”
“But… it’s raining,” Sirius said confused.
“Yes and? Rain is, like, the most romantic thing ever.”
“It is?”
“Once again,” Remus sighed, “I would like to reiterate how desperately you need to read a book.”
“Well, I’m sorry we can’t all be addicted to romance novels.”
“Oh shut up and kiss me.” Sirius laughs and lets his lips meet Remus’. They’re both drenched to the bone but neither one of them could care any less. Sirius’ hand brushes Remus’ cheek as he wraps his arms around Remus’ neck pulling him closer. Remus’ hands are on Sirius’ waist, and they slide down to his hips. Sirius’ shirt had ridden up a bit from lifting his hands to reach Remus’ neck and Remus’ fingertips brush Sirius’ bare skin — which is wet and slippery from the rain — making Sirius shiver and sigh. When they break apart, Sirius brings his lips to Remus’ ear.
“Besides,” he whispers, as Remus runs a hand through Sirius’ wet hair, “who needs romance novels when I’ve got the best romance story in the world.” Remus felt a flutter of pure happiness and smiled. He kissed Sirius’ jaw, right beneath his ear.
“Happy anniversary,” he whispered. Sirius sighed in response. They stand there in the rain, wrapped in each other’s arms, dancing slowly to the sound of the rain splashing and pattering on the leaves of the trees around them.

You Send Me Flying
Chapter Two:
Author’s notes: co-written with @nature-and-music, beta’d by @lady-jane-revisited. Based on The Dirt movie as I still don’t have the book ☹️ not smut…yet.
Vince came back after a few minutes and found us still in the kitchen. “Hey, guys, listen, she wants to go home-“
“What? No way! We still have to practice!” Nikki spoke up.
“Jesus H. Christ. If I wasn’t fed up with her shit before, I am now. That woman fucks with my nerves and doesn’t bother with a courtesy reach-around. She can take a cab, for fuck’s sake, or call her daddy.”
Nikki points over at me. “I like her, she can stay. Your girlfriend on the other hand…”
Vince sighs. “I’ll see what I can do.” He leaves to go talk to her again and we can hear her yelling through the door. It takes longer, but Vince does eventually come back in. “Ok guys, she’s gone.”
Everyone gave a sigh of relief at that announcement. For the remainder of the day, the boys continued with playing more songs until the sun began to set. We were all feeling a little peckish and so we decided to call in a phone order for Chinese food. After the food arrived, we sat round the coffee table to eat, Nikki passing out notebooks and pens to Tommy, Vince and Mick.
“Ok, so here’s my theory,” Nikki begins, “if we wanna knock people on their asses, then we gotta give ‘em a show. The Punks, they’re doing the minimalistics, so let’s take it in the exact opposite direction. I’m…I’m talking like stadium shows in the clubs, man. Like costumes and lights-“
“And pyro! With flames and explosions and shit!” Tommy interrupts, turning his can of hairspray and lighter into a makeshift torch.
“Exactly, exactly! Look, it’s a fuckin’ war out there, and the only way we win is by showing these kids something they’ve never seen before.”
“So what do we call this thing?” Vince asks.
“Here…” Nikki picks up his notebook and starts flipping through the pages. “It’s all about being larger than life!” He finally holds up his notebook for us to see a pentagram with X Mass under it.
“X Mass?” Vince asks.
“Yeah…”
“On a scale of one to ten…I give it a one point nine.” Mick intones, making the other three laugh.
I shook my head in feigned anguish, “That’s harsh. Accurate, but harsh!”
Mick just shrugs.
“It’s a play on Christmas! You know, you can use all the Christ imagery and shit! It’ll piss people off and make people think, you know?”
Tommy makes a face and I could tell Mick still wasn’t convinced.
“It’s got shock value…”
Vince shook his head.
“Yeah, I’m shocked by how much it blows.”
I had to bite my lip to keep from laughing. Mick has some wicked wit. Which, by the way, does nothing to cool down my attraction to him as we sat around the table.
Nikki tossed the notebook down, “Alright, assholes, you give it a shot. But make it big!”
Everyone picks up their notebooks and a pen or marker. Vince looks like he can’t come up with anything, and I find myself entranced by Mick’s look of concentration, but Tommy is quickly scribbling in his. When he’s done, he turns it around. I couldn’t believe what I saw. Tommy’s childish giggle was enough to confirm I wasn’t seeing things. Vince laughed and Nikki scoffed while Mick rolled his eyes.
“Still have the mind of a twelve year old, I see. As well as the body.”
“Ouch…and she says I’m the harsh one.”
“The Foreskins? Really? Tommy?”
“Yeah! Cause we’re gonna fuck the audience in the face every night, dude!”
“Yeah, but…but can you see that shit on the marquee above the Forum?!”
“Yeah, ok, you’re right. I’m out.”
Vince holds up his hands, indicating he’s not even gonna try. But Mick starts to write something down thoughtfully. The guys seem impressed when he turns the notebook in his hands. “I’ve been waiting a long time for this day.”
“Alright,” Nikki says, taking the notebook from Mick and adding to it, the dots over the O and changing crew to Crue with the dots over the U. Mick smiles with satisfaction. It’s the most beautiful smile I’ve ever seen and damn if I wouldn’t fall head over heels if I stuck around. And yet…
“Hey, you were talking about costumes before. Does that include makeup?” I asked Nikki before I could stop myself.
“Yeah! Yeah! All that shit!” Nikki enthuses. “Why, you know someone who can do that?”
I just smile and point at myself.
“No shit?”
“Yeah,” Vince pipes up, “she’s getting her makeup artist license. She’s perfect for the job!”
I smile, “Well I do need a job, and based on what I’m hearing, I am getting a few ideas in mind as to how you could all dress. I mean, if you’re interested in what i have to say.” I grabbed the notebook and pen to create a quick sketch of possible outfits or makeup. The guys were interested, some even suggesting to add their own ideas as to what they could wear too. Talks of leather, tight pants, belts, and a bit of heavy make up were tossed around, “Nikki you said that you guys want to go all out? This is how you do it.”
Mick rested his chin on his palm as he looked over the drawings, “That’s pretty wicked actually.”
I felt my cheeks becoming warm after hearing his compliment, and who else but Tommy proceeded to tease me with a schoolboy-ish tone, “Oooooh!”
“Fuck off Tommy!” I shouted, hitting him with the notebook, although that hardly affected his immature outburst when he made a puckered up kissing face. “You’re such an asshole!” I stood up and headed towards the balcony to cool off. Once I was out there, I took out my lighter and pack of cigarettes. The stupid thing wouldn’t light up, it had to be low on butane. I chucked the lousy device into the street and rested my elbows onto the steel bars, letting out a frustrated huff.
The night was warm, typical of most any night in the City of Angels. The street lights were already glowing bright, except for one near the end of the street that’s blinking. The light’s trying its very best to burn bright this evening. The sound of approaching footsteps are of no concern to me, instead I kept my eyes on the concrete ground below me. A clicking noise caused me to turn around, there’s Mick with a lighter in hand, the flame burning bright. He brought it close to my cigarette and, after inhaling the harsh, familiar taste of tobacco in my mouth, I thanked him.
“You alright?” Mick wondered, standing by my side.
I simply shrugged my shoulders, “It’s whatever, Tommy’s always been like that for as long as I’ve known him. I don’t really care anymore.”
“You sure about that?” he asked nonchalantly.
I scowled at him and spat back, “Why do you care?” I took another drag and puffed out a cloud of smoke to him.
He raised an eyebrow and then headed back inside. A part of me was kicking myself for responding back at him like that, yet I was reminding myself that I had more important matters to focus on. Quite frankly, he shouldn’t have been one of them.

Home
I had the sudden urge to try and write some hurt/comfort TLC with our A/B/O chocobros. An impulsive bit of writing that probably needs some editing but it fulfilled my itch! SFW, maybe 2 lines of mild suggestiveness. Just some snuggles and love.
You had dreamt about home. You had woken with an odd mix of guilt and sadness that had eventually dissipated and left you feeling muted and distant. You were aware you were bringing up the idea of getting home less often, and thinking about it even less so and whether by design or by accident your pack were also rather quiet on the subject. The fact that you had started internally thinking of them as your pack added another burst of guilt to your already fraught emotions. You knew the sadness was there, but you couldn’t feel it, couldn’t feel much of anything that morning except a hazy cloud of brooding disinterest. Of course the boys had noticed immediately, the lack of privacy for your own feelings souring your mood further and after your fifth snapped response to their pestering they had quietly backed off. The day had passed in a majority of uncomfortable silence, you being dragged along with one alpha or another as they finished up whatever business they had in town.
You were all now sat in the diner around the corner from the hotel. You were staring blankly out the window at nothing, fiddling absentmindedly with your napkin. Gladio had ordered for you, after you had shaken your head silently at the waitress. Not really caring what he had asked for but the plate that was put in front of you had been a pleasant surprise. You weren’t aware Gladio paid that much attention to your eating habits but seeing your favourite food in front of you sent a small wave of grateful happiness through your low mood. “Thank you” your words are quiet and you offered him a small smile when he locked eyes with you. “You need to eat it all” his words are gruff and if you didn’t know better you’d think there was a light pink tinge to his cheeks. Before you can muster up the energy to tease him Prompto is pushing into your side. “You gotta try this” Holding up what looks like a fry dipped in his milkshake you eye it warily. “No thanks?” “Come on! Trust me it’s -”, a cough from Ignis has him lowering his offering in disappointment. “Aw man, you don’t know what you’re missing out on” He remains close to your side as you go back to your own food. You don’t feel particularly hungry but you can feel Gladio and Ignis watching you and you don’t have the energy to argue. You must have zoned out again as Ignis soft call of your name startles you. “Noctis is having trouble with his back this evening”, he repeats, “We were discussing delaying our trip for a day” You glance at Noct and you know immediately that’s it’s a lie but you don’t care enough to point it out or to wonder what they are up to this time. You shrug. “Ok” “A day off will do us all good” Ignis continues, watching you intently as he speaks but you just nod and give another quiet ok in response.
“It’ll be fun!” Prompto swivels back to you “I can show you some of the cool shots I got yesterday, there’s a couple of really funny ones of Noct when he – “ Noctis cuts him off with a low warning growl and you can’t help but smile at the playful threat. Prompto raises his hands in mock surrender before turning back to you. “First photos I’ll show you” he whispers before he continues his plan for the day. “Just chillin with some trashy TV and a pile of junk food,” he pauses and glances at Ignis, “uh, right Iggy?” Ignis stares at him before sighing “I will pick something up on the way back to the hotel” “Great!” Prompto’s enthusiasm is infectious and you find yourself nodding along as he continues his ideas for the day. Leaving Ignis to sort out the bill the rest of you start a slow walk back to the hotel. With Prompto and Noctis walking in front of you still arguing over whatever embarrassing pictures he had on his camera, you feel a little happier than you did before your meal but you still feel tense and oddly exposed, even with Gladio walking next to you. He steps closer, wrapping an arm round your waist to bring you tight into his side. He doesn’t say anything, which you are incredibly grateful for, just leans down to press a lingering kiss to your temple. Smothered into his side makes all your senses scream ‘safe’ and relaxing into his hold you are back at your hotel room before you know it. With another kiss he pushes you through the door with a sharp smack to your backside. He laughs at your reaction and lets his hand linger on your ass as he guides you in to the middle of the room. “Shoes off” The way he kneels down in front of you sends a mild buzz of arousal through you, which he notices, because of course he does, and he winks at you as you place your hands on his shoulders to steady yourself. “I think you like me down here” With your shoes off his hands glide up your legs to the button of your jeans and you roll your eyes in mock annoyance. “I can take my own jeans off” he ignores your comment and instead places a quick kiss to your stomach as he yanks the fabric down your legs.
Your protest turns into a yelp as Gladio hoists you up over his shoulder to deposit you unceremoniously on his bed. “Get comfy” your disappointment as you watch him walk into the bathroom is short lived as Noctis and Prompto instantly try to snuggle you down into the mattress with them. Your hiss of annoyance is half-hearted and they both ignore it. Noct slipping straight into his favourite position at your side, head resting against your chest while Prompto grabs the remote to the TV before laying his head in your lap. Noct’s usual technique at comforting you was an unusual method of ‘bothering you until you pet him’ rather than outright affection but the way he was purring softly as you ran your fingers through his hair was actually calming, you had to admit. And the knowledge of the little huff he would have afterwards when he noticed the state of his hair added a small boost of amusement to your mood. Although the way he noses at your nipple through your shirt has you groaning in slight annoyance. “Not now Noct.” You can practically hear the whine building up in his throat but he doesn’t push you further, just shifts until his head is resting comfortably on your chest.
The sound of the TV and Noct’s gentle purring lulls you in to a drowsy peaceful state. Prompto quiet murmur of your name has your attention drawn back to him. He wants to say something or ask you something, you can tell from the sudden flux of nervousness in his scent and you brace yourself. Instead he presses a quick kiss to your thigh that surprises a giggle out of you so he does it again. “I’m glad you’re here” his words are quiet, whispered against your skin in-between his kisses but the sincerity in them is obvious and you bite your lip to stop yourself from crying. “You are too, right?” His question hurts, and your thoughts from the morning come rushing back to you. You were glad, but the guilt at feeling like that was overpowering at times. You hum noncommittally in response, not trusting yourself to answer. Noct obviously notices your distress and his hand squeezes your hip briefly before reaching down to smack Prompt lightly on the head “noisy” he grumbles “I’m trying to watch this” Gladio’s emergence from the bathroom and rumbled demand of ‘move’ distracts Prompto from making whatever snappy reply he had, and instead he moves with a pout, clambering over you to sit behind Noct. As you move from under Noctis’ weight, Gladio is not even completely down before you are curling up into his side. “Where’s Ignis?” you can’t stop your hand from trailing over his bare chest, tracing over the edge of his tattoo lightly. “Probably talking to the hotel clerk, he'll be here soon.” Gladio’s hand slips up under your t-shirt to rest on your ribs and you shiver, trying to push yourself closer. His fingers tracing small circles into your skin “Relax baby, daddy’s got you” the word is new, and you do your best to ignore the way it makes your stomach flutter. He doesn’t complain as you hook your leg over his, content to let you wriggle and shift until you are comfortable, half lying on top of him. “Better?” You nod against his chest and he raises his hand to start stroking through your hair, mimicking your earlier position with Noct. “You’re allowed be happy“ Gladio’s words whispered into your hair take you by surprise and you bury your face further into his chest to try and hide your sudden rush of tears. He says nothing further and the quiet as he continues to stroke your hair is surprisingly soothing, the only noise over your quiet sniffles is the slight creak of the bed as Noctis and Prompto try to subtly move closer to you, offering you comfort and warmth against your back without saying a word. You must have dozed off after a while as the next thing you are aware of is the soft press of Ignis lips against your forehead. He sits on the edge of the bed next to Gladio’s quietly snoring form and the concern in his expression makes tears prick at your eyes again. He moves slightly, his hand brushing away a stray tear from your cheek. "Talk to me?" he asks softly. You’re silent for a few long seconds, not sure if you can explain your mess of thoughts and emotions well enough for him to understand
"I don’t…” your breath hitches and you try to swallow around the lump in your throat, “I don’t think about it much anymore” Its vague, and you don’t say any more, don’t clarify what you mean but Ignis seems to understand you. “Whether you do or don’t, it’s Ok, we still love you“ He brushes away another tear. He cups your face gently, and you turn into his touch with a shaky sigh. The outright acceptance of your jumbled emotions that you receive from the four of them is unsettling in the best way. You feel loved, and the tears begin anew at the realisation. In your own world, with your own family, you had never felt this level of belonging and acceptance. The guilt that maybe you didn’t actually want to return there was still prevalent, but felt less sharp than it had done. The look of alarm across Ignis face at your fresh tears makes you smile in faint amusement. “I’m ok” he looks doubtful at your claim and you fight back the mild hysterical urge to laugh “I am, Ignis, truly I am”. You swallow, wrestling your emotions back under some semblance of control and kiss his palm. “It’s just,” you hesitate “a lot. I’m not used to,” you gesture loosely between you “this” you give him a genuine smile this time, “but it’s getting easier” ‘This’ was a poor descriptor for describing the bond you felt as part of the pack. But Ignis seemed to know what you meant. He stills looks a little concerned but he leans down to kiss you, “You’re our omega” he reminds you. The possessive lilt to his words sends a happy shiver through you and you hum into his kiss in agreement.
Feeling vulnerable but a lot more stable, the adrenaline from the whiplash of emotions over the day has left you feeling restless and fills you with the sudden childish desire to annoy the man sleeping beneath you. You flick your finger sharply across Gladio’s nipple, snickering quietly at his sleepy annoyed grunt and at Ignis’ look of bemusement. He stands with an almost audible roll of his eyes just as you are considering biting down on the nipple closest to you. “I won’t protect you from the consequences of whatever foolish action you are thinking of taking” He watches as you bite your lip in thought before he turns away with a small huff of amusement “Those two are a bad influence on you”
“Hey,” as if summoned by the promise of trouble Prompto stirs behind you, poking you in your side. You twist in Gladio’s tight hold to try and look at him. “Noct is asleep” he gives you a mischievous grin and you respond automatically with a smile of your own even though you don’t know what he’s planning “wanna see those photos now?”

Poppy
Emily Prentiss x daughter!reader
Based on Murder Song by Aurora
Word Count: 2,641
A/N: I’ve had this song stuck in my head forever so I had to write something. I hope you guys like it
Warnings: Kidnapping, mentions of blood, guns major character death,
Your mom prepared you for this. She always told you to watch your back and she taught you to protect yourself, but you let her down. It was as if everything she told you left your brain. It could’ve been the fear coursing through your veins or the drugs still clouding your memory. Emily told you what to do but you just couldn’t.
It felt like years but in reality you were only missing for three days. The team didn’t know if you were still alive. Emily’s hope is the only thing that kept the team going. She believed in her little girl and knew she could fight her way through anything. She knew her daughter was smart and knew she was holding on.
You weren’t thinking clearly and you tried to remember what happened to you. You remember that your mom was coming home after a stressful day at work. You knew she loved her wine so you set out the bottle and a glass for her. While waiting for her, you went into your room and did homework. You heard a window shatter. You snuck into your mom’s room and found her hidden gun. You slowly walked into the living room and kitchen. You saw a man looking through some of the books on the shelves.
“I’ll shoot you. Don’t move,” you trained the gun on the man in front of you. You tried to keep your voice steady but it shook a little.
The man laughed darkly, “Now, why would you do that Poppy?”
You froze. That was the identity you used after your mom faked her death. You went to Paris with her and continued living as Poppy. Nobody except JJ and your mom knew that name.
“Or do you go by Y/n now? I don’t remember.”
“How do you know me?” you moved your finger closer to the trigger.
“You’re not going to kill me. You were always a curious little girl. Do you remember? It was a long time ago.”
You tried to remember. You were only in Paris for a year and you were young. You looked back to where the man was but he was gone. You were too focused on remembering him that you didn’t notice he came up behind you and snatched the gun out of your hand.
He threw it across the room, “I don’t want to hurt you Poppy. I want you to learn.”
You didn’t know what to say. You didn’t remember this man. You thought you could try and stall him until your mom got home. Your phone was in your room so you couldn’t call anyone. You looked for something to hit him with. You spotted the wine bottle. Surely Emily would forgive you.
You reached for the bottle and hit him on the back of the head. It shattered, spilling red wine and glass everywhere. It didn’t seem to phase him. You tried to run and scream but he grabbed you and covered your mouth with a cloth.
When Emily came home, she saw the mess but nothing else was out of place. She saw some blood and figured you just dropped the bottle off the counter and cut yourself, trying to clean up.
“Y/n are you ok?”
She didn’t hear any noise coming from the bathroom or your room. She went into the bathroom and nothing had been touched since this morning. When she went into your room, your homework was open and your phone on your desk. It was still on and you had tons of missed notifications. She went into her room and saw the safe that held her gun was open and the gun itself was missing.
She ran back into the living room and saw the gun on the floor. She looked around the room and saw the shattered window. She ran out of the apartment and called the team.
The sound of a lock clicking distracted you from your thoughts. The man opened the door and sat on the bed across from the chair you were sitting in.
“Do you want to talk?” he asked.
“Talk about what? You kidnapped me. I have nothing to say to you,” you spat at him. He was keeping you in a house. You were in one of the bedrooms. The window was boarded up and there were no clocks. You didn’t know the time or day. To be honest, you gave up. You saw his face. You knew he would kill you. You just wanted it to be over, “Are you going to tell me how you’re going to kill me? Because if not, then I don’t care.”
“I already told you. I have no interest in hurting you. I want you to learn about your mom. I want you to understand why I’m better than her,” he stood up and walked towards you.
You stood up also, trying to challenge him, “I have nothing to learn from you. You’re just a sick son of a bitch who gets off on kidnapping kids.”
He laughed in your face, “I see you listen to things your mother tells you. If you don’t want to talk to me, maybe you’ll talk to her,” he gripped your hair roughly and dragged you through the house into the living room. All these windows were boarded up as well.
“My mom? What did you do to her?”
He grabbed a cell phone and dialed a number, putting it on speaker, “Nothing yet,” he waited until a person spoke. It was Rossi.
“It’s about time we spoke. It’s been a few days,” Rossi said calmly.
“Put Emily on the phone.”
“Not until we know the girl is alive.”
The man motioned for you to come closer, but you shook your head.
“Come on Poppy. Don’t be shy. It’s just your mother,”
On the other end of the call, the team was confused. Except for Emily and JJ.
“How does he know that?” JJ asked Emily.
“Know what? Does the name Poppy mean anything?” Alvez asked.
“It was her identity while I was in Paris. It was a way to keep her with me and to keep her safe,” Emily looked around the room. Her eyes landed on Reid.
“I thought she was with your mom. That’s what you said,” Reid was the most hurt when she “died.” he wanted to take you in, raise you so you could remember your mom and follow in her footsteps, “You lied again.”
“Just to keep her safe.”
It was one of the rare times Emily got to have you. Her job wasn’t stable enough for a toddler, but your dad’s was.
She had a week off and she knew how much you loved France. You were only three but you talked non-stop about it. You always wanted to go and she surprised you.
“Momma where are we going?” you asked her. She was holding your hand at the train station.
“It’s a surprise Y/n.” she said back.
“I don’t wike surpwises,” you pouted. You crossed your arms over your chest.
Emily crouched down next to you, lifting your head with her finger, “Don’t pout. I promise it’ll be worth it,” she moved some hair behind your ear and tightened your coat around you.
On the train, Emily sat you on her lap. She listened to you babble about certain things that caught your eye. Whether it was a cow with a certain pattern or an especially fluffy cloud. You two reached your stop and your mom helped you off the train.
“Where are we?”
Emily lifted you up so you could see over the station, “Those are poppies. There the flower you like so much,”
The attention was turned back to the phone, “Let me talk to Emily and she can talk to Poppy.”
Emily took the phone from Rossi, “Did you hurt her? Because if you did I sw-”
“Relax. She’s fine,” there was a pause before you were handed the phone.
“Momma? Please help me.”
Emily’s heart broke. You hadn’t called her that in years, “I’m trying Y/n I promise. Can you give me any details about where you are?”
The man looked at you and pulled out a gun. He would shoot you if you talked.
“No, I can’t. He said he knows me from Paris but I don’t remember.”
“That’s ok, anything helps.”
“What day is it? I can’t see anything. The windows in the house are boarded.”
That was definitely a hint to where you were. Before she had a chance to respond, a loud sound from the phone startled everyone.
“Shut up!” there was a loud thud and the sound of your screams filled the phone and the line went dead.
The man hit you in the head with the butt of the gun and shoved you to the floor. He started kicking you all over, “I told you to listen! You didn’t and now, I get to have my way!” he pulled you up by the collar of your shirt and punched you in the eye. He dropped you, “Go to your room!” he shoved you in the direction of the hallway. You limped back to the door and slammed it shut.
You were confused. What did he want from you? You sat on the bed carefully. Your body was covered in cuts and bruises. You let your mind wander, trying to forget about the pain scorching your body.
You entered the building, hand in hand with your dad. There were tons of people working at desks or standing and talking.
“Daddy where are we,” you looked up at him.
He smiled back down at his four year old daughter, “This is where momma works. You wanted to see her right?”
You nodded.
A man stopped you two and asked where you were going, “We need to see Emily Prentiss, is she here?”
At the mention of her name, she turned, “Caleb? Y/n?”
“Emily, it’s been a while,” your dad let go of your hand, letting you run to your mom.
“Momma!” you ran into her arms and she picked you up, kissing you on the cheek.
“Oh my gosh! You’ve gotten so big!”
“Daddy says I look like you.”
She smiled and looked at your dad, “Y/n what don’t you go with Spencer while me and daddy talk,” she set you down and you ran over to Spencer. He took you into another room.
The man walked into the room, “I’m sorry. My anger got the best of me. Same thing happened to my daughter,” he sat down on the bed, “They took her from me.”
“You had a daughter?” All the things your mother said about profiling was coming back to you. This guy was a narcissist. All you had to do was keep him talking, long enough for the team to find you.
“I did. I lost her a year before you came. You reminded me so much of her. I wanted, no. Needed to get closer to you.”
“So you took me from my mom. How does that help your daughter?”
“They called me a bad parent,” he looked up from his hands to you, “I watched you, making sure she took care of you.”
“She did. She loved me. She made sure I was safe.”
“No! She didn’t! She took you from everything. I had to wait for years to give you the life you wanted! Don’t you remember?”
His yelling made you flinch, “Please just let me go home. If you want justice just let me go,” you tried to plead with him but his mind was made up.
“You get one more call with her,” and with that, he left the room and locked the door.
You pieced together his words. He was going to kill you. Just like he did his daughter. He thought he was the best dad anyone could have. Anybody else wasn’t worthy and any child in their care was suffering. He was planning on putting you out of your misery.
You flopped back onto the bed. You looked at the ceiling and prayed your mom was going to find you in time.
You were sitting on the floor, watching Spencer perform a magic trick, trying to distract you. Your parents were in the other room and you could hear them arguing. You didn’t know what it was about, but you thought it was you. You watched as your dad pointed at you and then handed your mom a piece of paper. She said something to him and he stormed out of the room, leaving you.
You stood up and tried to get to your mom.
“Y/n you should stay in here,” Spencer tried to keep you in the room but you wiggled out of his grip and ran to your mom.
“Momma are you ok?” you waited for her to look at you. She had tears in her eyes.
“Come here,” she said softly. You crawled onto her lap and looked up, “How would you like to stay with momma for a while? You can get your own room.”
You were snapped out of your thoughts when the door busted open. The man grabbed you by your arm, still bruised and making you wince, “Shut up Poppy,” he whispered, “They’re here.”
You widen your eyes, “Mom! Help! I’m in here!”
“I said shut up!” he pushed you into a wall.
You felt blood trickling down your neck.
The team had managed to track you down, thanks to your hint about the abandoned house. They used the security camera footage from the streets outside your apartment to find the unsub. They tracked his car to this house.
Emily heard you call out for her. Her and Rossi rushed into the room, busting down the door. They saw you, with a gun against your head. They trained their weapons on the man. Emily never broke eye contact with you.
“Mom please don’t. Let me go you’ll be fine without me,”
“I’m going to get you out I promise. Don’t give up please,” she saw the fight slowly leaving your eyes.
He held you in a chokehold. You were bruised and bloody. She almost didn’t recognize you.
“You can’t shoot me without shooting her. But don’t worry. We’ll be happier,”
“Where are you going?” Rossi asked. He was giving the rest of the team time to get in position.
“She’ll be better with me. She won’t suffer anymore Emily. She’ll be in good hands.”
You had enough. You wanted all of this to be over. Your anger bubbled and it spilt.
“I hope you don’t mean yours.”
“Enough!” he held onto you tighter, keeping you from running.
“Let her go. Give me my daughter. We don’t want anyone getting hurt,” Emily tried to reason with him. She saw your tear-stained face and you both knew what was going to happen.
“I love you,” her hand was shaking.
“I love you too.”
The gunshot rang through the house. Your body fell onto the ground, lifeless. Rossi shot the man in the chest. He dropped to the ground. He clutched your hand in his, “I’m sorry Poppy,”
Emily shot him, making him drop your hand, “Don’t call her that. Rossi, call an ambulance,” she told Rossi.
He looked at her, “Emily.”
“Call one now!” she sat on her knees next to you, pulling you onto her lap, “Y/n please, wake up. Please! Help is coming. Stay awake for me,” her tears were dropping onto your shirt. It was one of hers. You two always fought about it. It was her favorite but you loved it. It was now tear and blood stained.
Rossi came over and put his hand on Emily’s shoulder, “Emily, I’m sorry, but she’s gone.”

Broken Rules [JJ Maybank x Fem!oc]

No Longer A Secret
It had been a month and a half of me and JJ secretly dating due to the ‘no Pogue on Pogue macking’ rule until ...
Pope, Kie, John B, JJ, and I were chilling on the beach. It was 9:42 pm as I found myself getting bitten by mosquitos, just enough for an excuse to go run off with JJ knowing he’d make up his own excuse. “I'm getting attacked by mosquitos imma go sit in the van for a bit” I said getting up and walking away.
But JJ waited a while later to make up a lie to go be with me so it wouldn’t be suspicious
“Sorry, that took a while,” JJ said sliding the door of the van shut behind him “I know, you’re not the only one who knows how lying works'' I said with a sly grin. JJ leaned toward me for a kiss, I smiled and gently put one of my hands on the right side of his face as we kissed, he really liked my soft hand’s touch. But all of a sudden the door swiftly slid open and we heard gasps right after we ended our kiss. “uh” JJ said rubbing the back of his neck nervously “guys, the rule-'' Kiara said being strict about the rule like she does all the time “b-but us just being friends didn't work, we tried though” “we really did” JJ backed me up “Smooth JJ” John B said sarcastically trying his hardest not to laugh but quickly failing.
“Okay whatever, can we go home? I have to study.” Pope complained “c’mon man, have some weed and relax” JJ smiled *John B starts driving the van* “no, I still owe Kie money for her car,” Pope said “riiight” JJ agreed. “I’ll take that though,” I said grabbing the blunt from JJ’s mouth and putting it in my own “hey!” JJ complained, “hi,” I said taking a drag of the blunt “, no that’s- nevermind,” JJ said laughing a bit at the end. “Y’all might have broken the number one Pogue rule but you guys look good doing it” Kie finally admitted. “why thank you for your approval, my lady” JJ joked in a British accent “Yes dear it means very much” I mocked JJ “I’m so glad to hear that,” Kiara said going along with whatever we were doing “okay pack it up Paddingtons” Pope said jokingly. “Hey, JJ,” John B said “what dude,” JJ said “don't get her pregnant” John B said “oh shut up John B were not even there yet!” I said “yet-” Kiara said kind of disgusted “yeah it looked like you were there ‘yet’ when we caught you two in the van” Pope reasoned “oh shut up” I sarcastically rolled my eyes at him.
JJ and I headed to what he had claimed as his bedroom at John B’s house. “Emmaaa” Kiara said “yes Kiaraaa” “come watch a movie with me” she cheerfully said “sorry I’m watching one with JJ, call Sarah” “she's at one of her brothers business things” “sucks for her” “yup” “see ya later” ‘bon voyage”.
JJ and I got into his room, cuddled, and watched Friends instead of a movie. “Hold on imma get beer,” The blonde said “get me one” “K”
The next day (10:58 am) came around the same as the others, waking up to the other pogues talking, or water splashing. Either way, none of us could ever get bored of waking up to a nice summer day. JJ and I groggily walked out of our his bedroom and onto the porch where Kiara, Pope, and John B had decided to start their day. “Hi guys” Pope greeted us as we walked out of the house “you guys wanna go stargazing “meh” John B groaned “c’mon it’ll be fun,” I said “yeah i'll do whatever” JJ agreed “look your best friend is going” I persuaded him “I’ll go,” Pope said “okay if you wanna be the only one not going that’s fine,” Kiara said “okay okay fine” John B gave in “why’d it take so long to convince you the stars are so pretty” I said also already knowing Kiara would definitely agree. “But can you guys see the whole world?” JJ asked, waiting for answers to continue the sentence “no?” Pope questioned “I can, she's right here” JJ pulled me closer to beside him and blushed “uhhh where’d JJ go... who's this soft guy?” John B joked with JJ totally ignoring him.
1:27 pm “so are we all just gonna chill out here until it's dark enough to see the stars” Pope asked “yes sir” i said “okay, so for once were not doing illegal stuff, good” He replied happily but sort of sarcastically “who wants a sandwich” JJ asked “no JJ, you're not making sandwiches after that moldy one” Kiara said “that's probably a good idea” John B said “guys i'm not four, i know what mold is and that you're not supposed to eat it” JJ said “fine, i'll have peanut butter” i said “okay”
10:43 pm *John B turns the van off and we all get out* “don't forget the blankets” Sarah said (John B brought her after one of her brothers business meeting) Sarah and John B shared a blanket as a couple, Kie and Pope shared a blanket as friends, and then there was JJ and I laughing at his jokes on our blanket “oh hey look! There's the big dipper” i said to JJ pointing into the abyss of the starry night sky “what the hell is the big diaper” JJ said “no not diaper, dumbass, dipper!” i laughed “oh right, so it's a big spoon” JJ said “no- well, close enough” I laid my head on JJ’s chest listening to the faint noise of his heartbeat “oh look guys there's a meteor shower” Sarah exclaimed “ooh we’re lucky to have chosen this night” John B said “your lucky we persuaded you to come” Pope said, “yea” John B scoffed.
We all laid there in silence staring at the beauty of the stars and all the intricate designs they made. “I'm getting tired, anyone else?” Kiara asked. All the other Pogues besides me and JJ agreed “you guys coming?” Sarah questioned “no its ok, we’ll walk back were not that far” I said “and ill carry you if you fall asleep” JJ whispered, i smiled “okay bye guys” Sarah smiled and got into John B’s van.
“Ooh look there’s the Gemini stars” i exclaimed “do you see Leo?” JJ asked “uh i think its behind that cloud” I said “oh, then move the cloud i wanna see” JJ joked “yes just let my grow a pair of wings first” I bantered “or you could just get a really tall ladder” JJ suggested “yea that works too” i smiled. A minute later my eyes began to get heavy as JJ gently grazed his fingers through my hair and i fell asleep right there cuddling JJ”
I guess JJ would have to carry me home now.

something special
elide x lorcan + rowan x aelin, modern au, proposal/first date fluff, word count: 3580
Rowan raced around the apartment, trying to find something. Lorcan watched him and laughed under his breath, carelessly flipping through his fire department’s monthly magazine. “Lor, come on, man, tell me where it is!”
“I don’t know what it is and I don’t care where it is,” he replied drily, humming into Elide’s good evening kiss as she got home from work, “Evening, gorgeous.”
The nurse laughed warmly and patted his chest, “Hi, baby. You’re looking mighty fine tonight.” She ran an appreciative look over him, tapping her acrylic nail over her bottom lip.
Rowan scowled at his roommate’s girlfriend and his roommate’s salutations. He pointed at them and switched his finger back and forth, “Not loving this right now. E, do you know where my tie is? The dark blue one.”
Elide made a face and sat on the arm of Lorcan’s chair, “The blue one, why that one?” She absentmindedly began to toy with Lorcan’s hair. “We learned that it shortens your jaw. Wear the green one, it’s on top of Lorcan’s drawer.”
He took a step towards Lorcan’s room and paused, “Why?”
“We needed it. Don’t worry, we cleaned it.” Lorcan laughed wickedly, pulling her into his lap and nipped at the skin beneath her jaw. Elide rolled her eyes and shoved his face away, “I was in the ER all day, someone barfed on me and I can still feel it.”
Her boyfriend wrinkled his nose and pushed her away, “Yucky.” Elide patted his cheek and walked away into his bedroom to put her things away. “So, Ro, when’s this girl getting here?”
“8 o’clock, why?”
“Um… it’s seven-fifty five now,” Lorcan answered, not daring to move, not even flipping the page as Rowan skidded out.
“What, no, I checked the clock, I have an hour,” he said.
Lorcan looked up at him and had the decency to fake a wince. Rowan knew his sadistic, nihilist brain couldn’t conceive of emotion. “The clock may have… paused in the power outage last weekend and I may or may not have noticed but put off… switching back. I’m so sorry, Ro. Really, man, I’m so sorry.”
“I’m going to kill you,” the silver-blond man promised. “Where’s my jacket?”
“I hung it on your closet door, I swear.”
Rowan raced in, just as the buzzer sounded and that brilliant, glorious voice spoke up, “Hello, Rowan? It’s Aelin.”
“Let her up but do not talk to her.”
Elide clicked her tongue as she padded out of her boyfriend’s room and walked to the door, “I got it, get your jacket, dear.” She sighed and winked at Lorcan as she pressed the talk button, “Hey, Aelin, come up.” She clicked the unlocking button and pranced over to the kitchen, “L, what do you want to do for dinner? I’m down for whatever.” The petite brunette puttered around the kitchen in her silk robe, getting her tea ready before her shower. She filled the tea kettle and put it on the burner, then perused the collection of teas they had solely for her use.
“I’ll cook,” Lorcan said, a tad too coolly.
“Are you sure? Remember when you burnt your hair?”
He snapped his teeth, “It’ll be fine.”
Elide laughed softly and walked behind his couch as she watered the plants she had brought to ‘liven up’ their apartment. She bent and kissed the top of his head, “Ok, love. You can cook.”
He smiled and then someone knocked on the door. “Let me get that!” Rowan shouted desperately. Elide cackled gleefully and put the watering cup down, bounding over to the door and quickly opening it.
“Hello, you must be Aelin.”
The blonde woman was drop-dead gorgeous. Long, tanned legs that went on for miles, long golden hair that fell in waves. Big, blue eyes with fiery centres of gold, framed by curled lashes, lengthened by mascara. Her plump lips curled into a smitten, giddy grin, bright white teeth with a little gap sinking into her bottom lip. “Yeah, that’s me,” she laughed. “And you must be Elide, the roommate’s girlfriend, I’m hoping?”
Elide laughed and opened the door wider, “Yes, that’s me. Lorcan’s over there, the one with the frown.” Aelin looked over Elide’s shoulder and laughed, no doubt amused by Lorcan’s disgruntled frown. “Ro’s just finishing up, do you want some tea?”
“Oh, I’d lo–”
“Oh, I don’t think we have time for that,” Rowan said as he hurried out and all but shoved Elide out of the way. Elide gasped and returned to Lorcan’s warm embrace for comfort.
“He’s so mean,” she whispered, curling into his lap.
Lorcan hummed and wrapped his arms around her, “He is. I don’t know,” he started to raise his voice, “why a nice gal like Aelin would go out with such a bully.”
Rowan frowned and his eyes promised a slow, painful death for the both of them. The dark couple laughed to themselves and relaxed into each other. “What a funny joke. Aelin, should we go?”
The golden girl laughed warmly, her hand lifting to rest against his chest, “Of course. It was lovely to meet you, Elide, I’ll have to come by for tea someday. It was very nice to meet you too, Mr. Frowny Face.”
Lorcan gasped in offence and narrowed his glare at Aelin as Rowan walked them out. Elide laughed and stood up, walking towards the bathroom, her hips swinging side to side, “Anything I can do to… turn that frown upside down?”
He grinned and followed her into the bathroom, not bothering to close the door behind them, “Yeah, a couple things, princess.”

Great, huge butterflies flapped around her stomach. Aelin smiled nervously at Rowan as he guided her towards their table, her cheeks pinking. “I love this restaurant,” she said, biting her inner cheek as she slid into her seat and adjusted it to her liking. She pushed her hair off her shoulder and rested her chin on her clasped hands.
Rowan sat down and unbuttoned his jacket. He smiled, relief shining in his eyes. Aelin adored the fact that he was as nervous as she and tucked that little bit of pride into her fluttering heart. “I’m glad. I have to admit, I was a little bit nervous about what to pick.” He pulled the menu towards him and looked through it, “What do you reccomend?”
“Oh, I don’t know,” Aelin hummed and opened the menu. “It’s all divine. All I know is we must split the chocolate hazelnut cake. It’s my favourite.” Her eyes sparkled at him over the rim of the slim folder. “Shouldn’t we?”
“Of course,” he said, his own cheeks blushing. “I’d love to.”
Aelin hummed happily and sighed, “Oh, I think we’ll get the fried sage leaves to start and then the ossobuco. What about you?”
Rowan closed his menu and smoothed his hands down his legs, “I’m going to get the veal saltimbocca.”
“Oh, if you do, I insist on stealing a bite.” She tilted her head to the side, her eyes on his, “Will you let me?”
Something dropped his stomach and he licked his lips, “Yes. I think I just might.”
Aelin laughed coyly and sipped her water, leaning back in her chair, now exactly where his gaze would fall in her metallic gold silk tank top. Her eyes tracked their waiter as he made his way back to them, “Hello, good sir.”
The young man, his hair a curly mop of brown locks, grinned, “Hello. Can I offer you our wine menu?”
They looked at each other.
Do we dare, Mr. Whitethorn?
A smirk curled his rosy lips.
I say we do.
Aelin scrunched her nose in a delighted way and reached her hand out for it, “Yes, please.” She looked through, scrutinising and pensive. After a golden, wonderful moment, Aelin looked up at him, “Barolo?”
Rowan nodded, feeling at a loss when it came to wines. The waiter nodded and swept away. Aelin looked like him and sat up, “So, tell me about your roommates. They seem to be in that honeymoon phase - are they a new couple?”
Rowan laughed quietly, “Oh, gods, no. No,” he cleared his throat, “they met in kindergarten and hated each other all the way through high school. They’re both military brats and somehow always got sent to the same posts.” He tapped his finger on the table, “They went away for university and second year, Elide transferred here and they met again and… the rest is history. They’re- Lorcan’s asking her to marry him right now, actually.”
Aelin laughed, her hand over her mouth, “Oh my gods, that’s amazing. Oh, I hope she says yes. They’re adorable together.” She paused. “Please don’t tell him I said that. I can always use another nemesis.”
“Yes, well, I assume I will get a very loud text any minute now with the good news.”
She clapped her hands, “Good.” At that moment, their waiter - Luca - came back with the bottle of wine and glasses. He poured Aelin a sample and waited as she sipped and tasted. She nodded and flashed Rowan a wide smile. Luca poured them both glasses and left it on a stand before he blended into the shadows. “So, what shall we toast to?”
Rowan knew it was cheesy and even still he said: “To… love. Love old and… love new.”
Aelin stared at him with heat clouding her eyes, “To love old and love new.”
☽ ☼ ☾
Lorcan hummed as Elide hopped off the counter and pulled his shirt over her head. “Baby, no.”
His girlfriend laughed and padded out of the bathroom, “My kettle has been boiling for over an hour, I bet all the water’s gone.” Lorcan tugged on his previously discarded sweat shorts and pushed his damp hair back.
He walked out to her and wrapped his arm around her shoulders, his chin on her head, “I love you, Lochan.”
She hummed, “And I love you, Salvaterre.” Elide shoved him with her elbow as she moved for the honey, “Move, beastie.” Lorcan laughed and stepped back. He leaned against the counter in front of the dishwasher and watched her move to fetch her things.
Elide turned crossly, evidently annoyed by his eyes on her, and frowned at his smile, “What, what’s the smile for?”
“What smile?” he said through his grin.
She clicked her tongue and abandoned her tea to cross her arms, “That smile.” Lorcan pushed off the counter and crossed over to her, halfway bending to sweep her into a long hug. Elide sighed contently and slid her arms around his shoulders, her body melting into him. “Hi.”
“Hi,” he said, holding her tight and rubbing her back. For months, he’d planned what he was going to say. He’d proposed to Rowan more times than he could count. It had been perfect and as he slid the ring box out of his pocket and took a step backwards, he couldn’t believe he was doing it like this.
Elide opened her mouth to ask him why he stopped hugging her, but then her eyes landed on the sparkling ruby engagement ring and all she could say was: “Oh, love.” She reached for his hand, tears lining her eyes as he smiled and lifted their joined hands to his heart.
“El… I love you. And I had a whole speech prepared and when I proposed to Rowan, he almost cried, but, fuck, I love you so much and I want to spend the rest of my life with you, so,” Lorcan smoothly lowered onto his knee, “will you marry me?”
“Of course, you idiot!”
☽ ☼ ☾
Aelin hummed delightedly as a plate carrying a piece of chocolate-hazelnut cake was placed in the middle of the table. She twirled her fork and ruefully pushed the plate closer to him, “Do you want the first bite?”
Rowan grinned, “Please, I know you’ve been looking forward to it. It’s yours.”
The woman beamed and dug in, her eyes falling half shut. She moaned softly and Rowan took a long sip of his ice water. “It’s so good,” Aelin said, taking another bite and then another. “I would eat this for every meal if I could.”
His phone dinged subtly from his pocket. Aelin saw him shift and buzzed in her seat, “Well? What’s the news?”
Rowan smiled and pulled it out of his pocket. The text was sent from Lorcan’s phone, but it was Elide who wrote it.
bastard: i said yes!!
Attached, Elide had sent a selfie with her hand, showing off the ring. The picture cut off most of Lorcan’s face, showing just his lips pressed to her temple. Rowan had never seen her smile this widely.
He showed his phone to Aelin, who read the text and looked at the picture. She smiled, “That’s so sweet. I’m surprised Lorcan’s taste in jewellery is that good, that ring is gorgeous.”
“I don’t like to toot my own horn, but I did help him pick it out,” Rowan said in a joking manner. Usually, he didn’t find it this easy to talk to someone - certainly not someone like Aelin. She was a barely tamed wildfire and he was certain many had been burned before him. For some reason, though, he didn’t feel like he would be like them.
Aelin’s eyes glittered, “So, you have a lovely taste in pretty, sparkly things, do you? I might just have to remember that for later.” She lifted her wine glass and sipped delicately.
“Later? We have a later now?”
She put her glass down and ran a fingertip over the rim, “Well, I certainly hope so. I’d hate to dress my best and try this hard all for one meaningless dinner.”
Rowan hummed, smiling softly, “It would be such a shame, Ms. Ashryver-Galathynius.”
“Indeed it would.”
Within the next five minutes, the cake had been devoured and they split the bill after Aelin’s fierce insistence. After, Rowan stood to help her into her coat and Aelin dipped to the bathroom as he waited by the entrance.
When she walked out, unaware of every eye in the restaurant on her, Aelin smiled at him, the tip of her pink tongue poking between her teeth. She slipped her hand into his elbow, “Do you want to take a walk? The Florine is just a few blocks away, we could talk.”
Rowan’s brows raised, almost surprised that she had more to say. Elide would laugh and say that he was a cranky, old bastard, but Rowan had never spoken more with another human being. Aelin’s face fell slightly at his look of reproach and her brow crinkled, “What is it? Do you have to be somewhere?”
“No, no, Aelin,” he laughed self-consciously. “I’ve never talked this much and I’m just a bit… shocked that you have more to say.” His cheeks heated.
Aelin laughed merrily and pulled him outside, sliding her hand down to his, “You’re very cute. C’mon, I’m sure we can weasel a few more words from you. And besides,” she looked up at the sky, “the sky is beautiful by the river.”
She started to walk and in that moment, Rowan decided he would follow her to the ends of the earth.
☽ ☼ ☾
Night had fallen long ago.
Aelin stood on her building’s stoop, a few steps above Rowan so that they were eye to eye. She smiled a small smile, her face soft and open. “I had a lovely time tonight, Rowan.” Casually, she reached out and traced her finger over the lapel of his overcoat. “Would you like to get coffee tomorrow, or something?”
Rowan nodded, his hands stuffed into his pants pockets, “I’d love to.”
“Good,” she said. Aelin shifted closer to him, until they were almost sharing a breath. Rowan swallowed once, but he didn’t close the distance to kiss her. Her laugh was hoarse and slightly choked, “So, what do I have to do to get you to kiss me? I’m just wondering.”
He coughed, slightly startled, “Um… just- exactly that.” Aelin smiled triumphantly and laughed softly as he slid his arm around her waist and pulled her into him. Rowan dipped her dramatically and waited for a moment before he pressed a slow, dizzying kiss to her lips.
Aelin gasped softly and gripped his biceps, kissing him back with that fiery passion he’d come to learn she applied to everything in her life.
When they came up for air, their breaths puffing between them, her eyes were wide. Her reddened lips curved to form a perfectly soft, “Oh.”
Rowan laughed huskily, “Yeah, that was… wow.” He took a step backwards, his hands lingering on her waist. “I should let you go now. It’s late and I have a coffee date tomorrow morning.”
Aelin laughed brightly and pressed a kiss to his cheek, “Very gentlemanly of you.” She stepped backwards, towards the front entrance. Aelin pulled the keys out of her pocket and waved her fingers at him as Rowan nodded his head and walked down to the sidewalk. “Goodnight, Rowan.”
“Sweet dreams, Aelin.”
☽ ☼ ☾
Her ring sparkled in the living room light. Elide bit back the giddy grin threatening to erupt over her face and turned her face to her boy- fiancé. She cupped his face in her hands and kissed him, “I love you.”
Lorcan grinned and gave into her sweet kisses. He slid his hands to the small of her back and pressed her closer to him, “I love you too, princess.” She hummed lowly and pulled away, tracing her fingertips over his cheekbones.
She laughed a bit, “Do you remember the first day we met?”
Lorcan scoffed, “Yeah, no doy.”
Elide rolled her eyes and shook her head, “You’re ridiculous. I’m trying to be sweet and you say no doy like an idiot.” Lorcan laughed, his head tipping back. Elide smacked his chest and twisted so that her back was against his front.
They barely fit on the shitty little couch Lorcan and Rowan still had from university. It was old and beyond ruined, but it was the most comfortable thing on the planet. Lorcan wrapped his arms around her waist and rested his hand on her side, his thumb soothing a circle over her ribcage. “It was the first day of kindergarten. You were wearing two braids with a red ribbon around your head and you had on overalls with a purple shirt.”
She smiled, “Your hair was braided and you were wearing a black t-shirt with a grizzly bear on it and jeans.” Elide tilted her head up to teasingly glare at him, “You stole my good marker.”
He made a pleased noise in the back of his throat, “And fourteen years later, you stole my heart.”
“That I did,” Elide replied, kissing the side of his neck. Lorcan lifted her left hand and they both stared at the glittering engagement ring. “I can’t believe we’re getting married.”
Lorcan grinned and kissed the side of her head, “Well, believe it, love.”
She laughed and settled back into his arms, “We’ve come a very long way, haven’t we?”
“Yes,” Lorcan agreed, wrapping her further in his arms, “we have.”
They fell into a warm, comforting silence, perfectly at ease to lay together and not say a word. Nothing needed to be said.
A few minutes later, when Elide was slowly drifting off, safe and warm in his arms, the front door opened. She sat up, smiling expectantly at Rowan, “Well?” Lorcan shifted beneath her and sat up too. “How was it?”
Rowan’s cheeks were pinked, not just from the cold night. “Um, it went well, yeah.” He shrugged his overcoat off and hung it up on the coat rack. Without looking back at the couple, he spoke while he put his shoes away, “We’re getting coffee tomorrow.”
Elide clapped her hands, “Ooh, yay. It’s because of the green tie.”
Rowan rolled his eyes and walked into the kitchen. He emerged with three bottles of beer, “I think I deserve a little credit. She didn’t very well kiss my tie.”
Elide cackled and took the beer he offered to her, her ring shining. “Very nicely done, Ro.” She settled back against Lorcan and sipped from her bottle, waiting for him to notice something.
Rowan handed Lorcan his drink and finally saw Elide’s ring, “Congratulations, you two. Very nicely done, Lor.”
His best friend smiled softly at the girl he loved, “Thanks, man.” Rowan sat down in the armchair, grinning at the two of them. “So, it really went well?”
“Yeah, yeah.”
Elide giggled at his face, “Oh, you’re so smitten.”
Lorcan hummed in agreement and drank his beer, “Aw, look, he’s blushing.” Elide hooted and laughed harder when Rowan grumbled and stood up, muttering something about I don’t have to sit here and take this. “Babe, our boy’s all grown up. Soon he’s going to settle down, get married, have a brood of unruly children…”
Elide stood up and walked over to Rowan, holding her arms out for a conciliatory hug, “Oh, c’mere, honey, we’re just joking.” Rowan pouted and accepted her embrace, flipping Lorcan off behind her back. The dark haired woman pulled away slightly, her eyes narrowed inquisitively, “You really like her, don’t you?”
“Yeah,” Rowan mumbled, blushing again. “She’s… kinda completely amazing.”
“Oh, is she something special?”
“Yeah,” Rowan said, confident and sure. “She is.”
And she was.

Mutant not Monster - Part One
Part One: Background; this is basically a background part. Dean will be in the next part with Sam. I highly recommend you read this part so you can understand the plot.
Summary: Y/n and her twin brother, Warren, are both mutants. In a world where mutants aren’t accepted, Y/n and her brother have to go on the run as anti-mutant extremists begin hunting their kind down. Sam and Dean are hunters, just not mutant hunters. However, their paths cross and despite a rocky beginning they become allies against not only the war against mutants but the war against mankind.
Warnings: angst, curse, fluff, anti-mutant terrorism
Reader: Female Reader; Y/n Worthington
Pairings: (Eventual) Dean Winchester x Fem!Reader
Word Count: 3,794
A/n: This is more of my own mini story than a specific part of X-Men and Supernatural. I’ll stick as close to supernatural as I can but if you see things that are different than they were in the show, just roll with it. This is kind of a crossover with X-Men and Supernatural but I’m just doing my own thing with the X-Men characters and Supernatural. I’m not going along with any specific movie or comic book. When Dean and Sam come in it’ll technically take place around the season 4 of Supernatural where they know about angels. Also gif is from google and it’s Miley Cyrus from the ‘Can’t Be Tamed’ music video.
Part Two
Masterlist
1989 - Y/n POV - Reader is 9
“Warren slow down!” I shouted after my brother as he scales up the tree. I try to keep up with him but struggle to maintain a steady grip on the bark. My twin brother just laughs and continues to climb branch after branch.
“Y/n! Warren! Be careful!” Our mother shouts approaching the tree. I take a second to look down at her. She stands by the trunk with her arms crossed. Her eyes squint as she looks up into the tree but I doubt she can see us through the branches and leaves. “Don’t climb too high!”
“Come on, Y/n,” Warren says regaining my attention. He motions for me to continue following him. Huffing I reach for the next branch and pull myself up.
“How much farther? Mom doesn’t want us too high,” I tell him.
“Don’t worry, we’ll be fine,” Warren says ignoring the uneasiness in my voice. While I didn’t have a fear of heights, in fact I liked being higher than everyone else, I was afraid of losing my grip from being too tired. As much as I tried to keep up with my brother he seemed to have energy for days.
“Warren, look at this,” I say finding a birds nest. My brother looks down at me before quickly climbing to my spot.
“Wow,” He whispers as the newly hatched birds chirp for their parents. “They’ll be big enough to fly before we know it,” He tells me.
“Do you ever wonder what it’s like to fly?” I ask looking at him.
“All the time,” He says. “I wonder what it’s like to soar with the birds and fly through clouds,”
“You’ll probably get wet,” I warn him. “Clouds are water after all,” Warren shrugs.
“Never been afraid of a few rain drops,” He smirks at me. I smile rolling my eyes. I look back at the baby birds.
“Warren! Y/!” Our mother shouts for us again. “Come down from there, it’s time for supper!”
“Can’t she see we’re busy in the tree?” Warren grumbles. I laugh.
“Come on, I’ll race you to the bottom,” I challenge him. He smirks and begins climbing down at the same time I do.
“If I win, I get your ice cream!” Warren shouts.
“Like hell you will!” I shout back.
“Language, Y/n!” Mother scolds.
“Yeah, language, Birdie,” Warren teases.
“Oh, why don’t you- Ah!” I screech when my feet slide off the branch. I go to cling to the tree but I fail to get a grip. Before I can fall too far Warren has my hand in his.
“I’ve got you!” Warren says quickly.
“Don’t you dare drop me, Warren Worthington!” I shout holding his hand as tightly as I can.
“Never,” Warren reassures me with a playful grin before swinging me to the next branch.
1994 - Y/n POV - Y/n is 14
“St. Joes Catholic School?” I ask with disbelief in my voice. “They’ve got to be kidding, right?” I ask my brother as I flop down on his bed. He walks into the room after me and shuts the door.
“I don’t think they are,” Warren says taking a seat at his desk chair.
“Why are they sending us away?” I whisper but don’t expect an answer. In fact, I’m terrified of what the answer would be. Warren stays quiet as he mulls over the information our parents just dropped on us. “We never fit in here,” I admitted whilst sitting up. Warren glances at me. “They may be our parents but we’re practically strangers to them. We share nothing in common with them except some similarities in our looks. We don’t belong here Warren and they know it,” I sigh looking down at my fingers.
I expect Warren to argue against me like he usually does. This isn’t the first time I’ve voiced my opinions on this matter. Ever since I could remember I’ve felt as if Warren and I were outcasts in our own home. Our parents used to try and connect with us but they gave up years ago.
I didn’t even notice Warren standing up until the bed sinks beside me. I spare him a glance before looking back at my hands. We sit in silence for a few moments before I lay my head on his shoulder. His head soon rests on top of mine.
“Don’t worry, we’ll find a place where we belong,” He reassures me. “We’ll find a home,” I smile as my mind begins imagining what this home would look like. “It’ll be a place where we do fit in and we’re not strangers,”
“As long as you promise we’ll stay together,” I say lifting my head. Warren looks at me. “Don’t you dare leave me, Warren Worthington,”
“Never,” Warren smirks winking at me. “Lighten up a bit, Birdie,” He says nudging my shoulder. “Who knows, maybe St. Joes Catholic School is where we’ll find people to connect too,” He shrugs.
“It would be nice to talk to someone who doesn’t have your ugly mug,” I comment standing from the bed.
“Well, it shouldn’t be hard for me to find someone who doesn’t crack mirrors when they look in them,” Warren fires back. I don’t dignify him with a verbal response. I simply flip him the bird and leave his room.
1997 - Y/n POV - Reader is 17
“Go Warren! Run!” I scream from the stands as my brother overtakes the lead runner in the track meet. I clap loudly and scream when he takes first place without a problem.
“He won! He won!” My brothers girlfriend, Amanda, shouts from beside me. We jump up and down together before laughing excitedly.
When the meet ends the two of us instantly go looking for my twin. I weave through the crowd in his direction. Amanda follows me knowing all too well about my inner Warren Compass. It didn’t matter where I was or where he was, we could always find each other. Amanda also swears that we have some sort of telepathy between us or that we could read each other’s mind. While I knew that neither of those things were true, I did have a sixth sense when it came to my brother. Warren has the same feeling about me as well.
“There he is!” Amanda shouts surpassing me to go to her boyfriend. Warren spins around and pulls her into his arms. She giggles as he spins her around. I gag when they romantically kiss.
“Did you see my last run?” Warren asks us.
“Of course, baby,” Amanda smirks leaning into him not even caring about his drying sweat.
“You mean the one where you look like a flailing chicken without a head?” I ask before doing a dramatic imitation. Amanda snorts while Warren lunges for me. I laugh evading his attempts to put me in a head lock.
“Ok! Ok!” Amanda shouts getting between us. “I want to get back to the dorms, get cleaned up, and go to the party,”
“Hell yeah, baby,” Warren smirking lighting up at the mention of a party. Amanda shakes her head wondering where he gets all his energy. It didn’t matter that he just spent all day running, he still has enough energy to take over the world.
It doesn’t take us long to get back to the dorms and cleaned up. Warren promises to meet us at the party before going to take a shower. Amanda and I both go to the bathroom to do our makeup and to get changed.
“Oh my God, is your back ok?” Amanda instantly asks.
“Um, it’s fine?” I say turning towards her.
“Where did you get all of those bruises?” She wonders.
“Bruises?” I ask before going toward the mirror. “Oh, shit,” I whisper seeing them. They weren’t too bad but they were definitely noticeable.
“What they hell are you doing when I’m not there to supervise you?” Amanda laughs while returning to her makeup.
“I don’t know,” I whisper to myself. I take another moment to stare at the bruises before shaking my head.
A couple weeks pass and the bruises don’t leave. In fact, the grow darker. I take extra care with how I move but it doesn’t matter. The bruising just continues to get worse until things start to get even weirder.
I wake up in my bad with a sore back. That’s nothing new, it’s practically my norm by now. However, waking up to find several feathers in my bed is new. I sit there in confusion as I wonder where the hell these feathers have come from.
“Y/n! Open up!” Warren shouts slamming his fist against my door repeatedly. “Open the door!”
“I’m coming! I’m coming!” I shout hopping out of bed. He doesn’t stop knocking until I let him in. “What the hell?”
“You’re getting random bruising too?” Warren asks the instant I close my door.
“How do you know about that?” I ask.
“Amanda told me,” He said. I frown my eyebrows wondering why now, all of the sudden, she’s telling him about my bruised back. “She told me because of this,” He takes his shirt off and turns his back to me.
“Jesus, Warren,” I whisper looking at his bruises. They’re similar to mind in shape but they’re much darker and slightly bigger. “Wait,” I whisper stepping closer. I run my finger along a section of his back and he instantly flinches away from me.
“Uh, ow!” Warren snaps.
“Sorry!” I raise my hands defensively. “But you have something coming out of your back,”
“What?” He frowns his eyebrows and I nod. He goes to my full length mirror. He then notices the nubs that I pointed out. “Turn around,” He says coming over to me. I do as he says feeling nervous that he might find the same happening to my back.
“I woke up with feathers in my bed,” I whisper holding back a flinch when he touches my bruises.
“Sorry,” He whispers noticing me tense. “You have the same thing happening,” I slowly turn towards him. “I have feathers in my bed too... I thought they were from my pillows but...” His voice trails off.
“What’s happening to us, Warren?” I whisper. He pushes his lips together.
“I don’t know, Birdie,” He whispers back.
1997 - Y/n POV - Reader is 17
“Warren! Warren, open the door!” I shout pounding on his door like he had mine a week previous. “Warren, I know you’re in there, now open the damn door before I break it down,” I growled hitting the door even harder.
A few moments later my puffy eyed brother opens the door just enough for me to slide in before closing it again. He hangs his head as I stare at him. When he sniffles and wipes his nose on his sleeve I snap out of my trance.
“Come here,” I whisper pulling him into a tight hug. I frown my eyebrows when I feel something on his back but I don’t pull away. He holds me so tight that it’s hard to breathe but I just hold him. “What happened?” I whisper.
“She kept asking questions,” He tells me after a few minutes. “She kept wanting to know about the bruises and I just... I couldn’t tell her,” I close my eyes and hold him even closer. I try to hold onto him but he pushes me away. “Then this happens,” He whispers sniffling as he takes off his shirt. I look at his chest before giving him a look. He turns around and I gasp.
Two small white wings have sprouted from his shoulder blades. They look like a baby birds wings. Not nearly big enough to fly nor hold his weight. Despite they’re small size they’re beautiful.
Then it clicks. Our backs have been going through the exact same transition. Slowly, I step back to his bad and fall on it. Warren quickly pulls on his shirt again.
“We’re mutants,” I whisper.
“Yeah,” Warren whispers.
“We’re mutants,” I whisper again. Warren sighs walking over to me. The bed bounces slightly when he collapses beside me.
“Yeah,” He repeats. We lay on his bed in silence as we try to come to terms with the... new development. “I quit track,” He tells me. “Not like I’d be able to hide these things at practices and meets... Plus who knows how big they’ll grow,”
“Warren,” I whisper lowly. “St. Joes is notorious for they’re anti-mutant beliefs,” I say slowly turning my head towards him. Warren continues to stare at the ceiling. He lets out a long sigh.
“Yeah,” He mutters.
“Shit,” I whisper.
1998 - Y/n POV - Reader is 18
‘Y/n Worthington,’
I frown my eyebrows as I slow to a walk in the middle of the empty hallway. I look around for the voice who said my name. However, the few people in the hallway pay no mind to me.
‘Y/n Worthington’ The voice says again. ‘My name is Charles Xavier and I am a mutant like you,’
“I don’t find that very comforting at the moment,” I mutter feeling standoffish. I can hear the voice laugh a bit.
‘No, I expect you wouldn’t’ He says. ‘I’ve been looking for you and your brother for a very long time,’
“Where are you?” I ask as I continue to search for him.
‘Not far from the school,’ He responds vaguely. ‘I need you to listen to me. There is someone on campus that wants to hurt you and your brother,’
“Warren,” I whisper no longer caring about this Charles Xavier. The only thing on my mind is finding Warren. Before I could start my wild goose chase the voice in my head tells me exactly where he is. I don’t bother to question him, I simply race to his location. “Oh my God,” I gasp seeing the building is engulfed in flames.
Before I even try to go into the fire something in the sky catches my attention. I then notice it’s Warren trying to save people. Sprinting into action, I leave the crowd. My pure black wings rip through my long jacket and take me to the sky towards my brother.
“There’s more people on the third floor!” Warren shouts over the noise of the crowd.
“There’s someone after us!” I shout to him.
“No shit! Who do you think started the fire?!” Warren snaps.
“Don’t get snippy with me, Angel!” I growl back at him.
“Just get the people out! I’ll handle the guy that’s trying to kill us,” Warren orders. I want to argue but Warren is already flying off and somebody has to get those people out.
My wings carry me into the building. They fold around my body protectively as I crash through a window and land on the hot floor. It takes some convincing but I finally get the people to trust me enough to allow me to get them to safety.
‘You’re brother is a mile to your left,’ Charles informs me. I send a silent thank you before quickly going towards Warren. I get to him in time to see him dropping a man to his death.
“Warren?” I ask slowly flying towards him. My large yet feminine keep me in the air beside my brother. Warren’s head hangs as he stares at the mans dead body on the ground below us.
‘If you both would join me, I’d like to talk with you,” Charles says in my head. I can only assume Warren hears him as well.
“Angel?” I ask moving even closer to him.
“Let’s just go,” Warren says flying to where Charles wants us to meet him. I glance back to the dead body before flying after my brother.

“Wow,” I whisper walking towards Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters.
“Aren’t we a little old to be going to a school like this?” Warren asks as we follow behind Charles. I nod along with Warren’s question seeing as we’re both legally adults.
“This isn’t just a school for the gifted but a home,” Charles explains. Warren’s head snaps towards me at the same time mine snaps to him. “Here you can learn different skills you did not learn at your previous school. You will also meet students with various gifts, some like your own,” I slap Warren’s arm when I see a girl fly past us with wings that came off of a fairy. “You are welcome to stay here for as long as you wish,”
“This place is amazing,” I laugh in wonder. Warren slowly beings to grin which only brightens my mood. Ever since the fire a few days ago, Warren’s smile has been nonexistent.
“I’ll show you to your rooms, allow you to get settled,”
“Are we sharing a room?” Warren wonders.
“While school is in session, yes,” Charles nods. “But when most of the students return to their homes, you can have separate rooms,” I smile at my brother. Even though I didn’t exactly like sharing a room with him, it would be nice to have him close after someone had tried to kill us.
“Well, it’s not as big as the one at mom and dads but it’s cozy,” I say while walking around the room. Charles had left us to settle in a few seconds ago.
“Do you ever wonder what mom and dad are doing?” Warren wonders while tossing his suit case on one of the beds.
“Angel, they haven’t even contacted us since freshmen year,” I remind him. “The only thing they’ve done is financially support us and even that is over now,” I say sitting on my bed. “I try not to think about them because we don’t need them. We just need each other,” I say smiling at him.
“So, you’re saying I’m stuck with your ugly mug for the rest of my life?” Warren asks with a small smirk.
“Aren’t you a lucky duck?” I wink at him. Warren slowly shakes his head. “What happened?” I finally ask. “With that man that you let go?” My mind goes back to the day with the fire and how Warren had let a man fall to his death.
“I don’t even know his name,” Warren whispers. “Just some anti-mutant man,” He tells me. “He said our wings went against his religion and that we had to die,” I can feel my wings twitch but I don’t say anything. “I had him in my hands and I wanted to turn him into the police but then he went on and on about how he wasn’t just going to kill me but kill you as well... I just got so angry. He talked about how he was going to rip our wings off and rid the world of us. The thought of someone out there that wants to kill you as badly as he did made me so angry. Before I knew it I was letting him go and watching him fall.” Warren explains to me. I stand and walk over to him. Warren looks at me as I sit next to him. “I don’t regret killing him. I feel guilt about the fact that I’m not sad over his death,” He says. “But he threatened you, threatened us...” Warren sighs.
“You don’t have to justify your actions to me,” I tell him. “Warren, I would have done the same thing,” I told him. He glances towards me. “You think your need to protect me is one sided? I’d do anything for you. You’re all I have and I’m not going to let anyone hurt you,” I tell him. Warren smiles a bit.
“Don’t you dare leave me, Y/n Worthington,” Warren says quietly. I muster up a playful smirk.
“Never,”

“What do you mean they’re shutting the school down?” Warren snapped. “They can’t do that!”
“They can and they are,” Storm, one of the teachers, says calmly yet her eyes are raging in anger. “The students are to be sent back to there homes-”
“Where they’re going to be hunted down and slaughtered in front of their families,” Beast growls. I sigh rubbing my face tiredly.
Years of peace between mutants and mankind destroyed in one weekend. We tried to do damage control but our efforts were in vain. Almost every pro-mutant policy has been taken away. With the government turning their backs against us the radical anti-mutant organizations are rising against us in a dangerous fashion.
It didn’t take a genius to know that a war is on the horizon. This school is one of the only safe places for the students yet we’re being forced to send them away. We’re being forced to send them back to their families where they won’t be nearly as protected as they are now.
We all knew that with the war would come casualties. These extremists aren’t planning on taking prisoners. They see us as anti-human and a threat to the human race. They see us as monsters. They will kill us every chance they get.
“We have to protect them,” I speak up. “They’re children!” I practically shout. “We can’t just leave them to defend themselves,”
“We’re not going to do that,” Jean shakes her head. “We’ve fought for mutants this long, we’re not just going to give up now,”
“Jean’s right,” Storm nods. “There’s a war coming and it’s going to get ugly,” She warns everyone in the room. “But we’ve been through ugly times before. We can get through this if we work together,”
“We’re ready,” Bobby, one of my closest friends, assures her. “You guys have made sure of that. A lot of us are ready to fight,” Warren, me and the other alumni students nod in agreement.
“Professor?” I asks hesitantly. Charles continues to sit in his wheelchair as he goes over everything in his mind. It pained me to see the man who took my brother and I in in such a state of distress.
Warren and I share a nervous look. After years of living life just the two of us, we finally find out home. Not long after that, our home is threatened. It angers me to the core that people think they can threaten my home without retaliation. As far as I’m concerned everyone that lives under this roof is my family and I will do whatever is necessary to protect them, especially my idiotic twin.
“There here,” Charles whispers, his eyes widening. My head snaps to the side as an explosion shakes the Earth under our feet. Warren’s eyes meet mine and dread fills our hearts. The war’s begun.
