What are some Pomni & Gangle headcanons you have?

YOU DON'T KNOW HOW LONG I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS QUESTION-

But yeah, I have some headcanons

First one is that Pomni likes to borrow Gangle's anime hoodie even tho it's twice her size

Third one is that they have little drawing dates where Gangle teaches Pomni some art techniques and stuff, but they would sometimes watch anime in the middle of them bcuz Gangle gets distracted easily (man I have to do a comic about this someday)

Fourth is that uhhhhhhh Gangle likes to hold Pomni in her lap and play with her LITTLE hands like a mom does with a baby (I really hope you can visualize that or else I'm being weird 😭)

Ngl if the sigewinne story was more 'Neuvillette instructed the melusines that it's alright gifting people in need gifts despite past prejudice' i would be fine with it. But the fact they wrote it in a way that implies that he instructed them specifically to care for Wriothesley makes me uhhhhhhh

Sir you are aware this child is an orphan and the best you can do is tell the melusines to feed him? What about other orphans? You have the guards at your command to help people??

I'm alot more fine with the 'Neuvillette cant do anything about the shit law despite being iudex' thing, like I'm okayish chalking it up to he's not human, it wasn't his job / wasn't told to fix the law and shit he is a judge first and foremost. But this story is NOT helping because it implies he HAS the capacity to comprehend SOMETHING is wrong and has the will to fix it and just... does nothing???

Idk man i'm a wriolette apologist i'm so alright with waving off the shallow plot beats to cater to the shippers thing but they had to make it super obvious huh head in hands

Personally with shipping and media enjoyment, I'm very much the guy who is like "these are my OCs now" and I will enjoy things regardless of how I feel about the canon materials. I don't care about 'canon proof' for ships and for most scenarios, I don't think canon should be used to dissuade a person from shipping either. Obviously there's gonna be things that makes me think you're weird, but things like self-insert/canonxoc is cool and that will Never have any basis in canon material anyway. So like. Take the limiters off and reach for the sky.

As for the Neuvillette-and-melusines thing, yeah. I think it's weird that they made it specifically about Wriothesley. In general, how they portrayed Wriothesley always irks me, because they make his entire characterisation around how he 'overcame' his past because he's just a special guy who, instead of complaining about the shit hands he's dealt, accepted his sentence gracefully and pulled himself up by his bootstraps and got to where he is because he's strong and crafty. Wriothesley doesn't actually value these traits (he thinks of himself as just some guy), but everyone around him considers him 'special' because he's able to network and rally people and make a name for himself in Meropide.

That would have made for a more interesting narrative if they actually did something with it and really show some actual conflict between his view of himself and how the public sees him, but now, as it read to me, it just reeks of individual exceptionalism. He's successful because he has that capitalist mindset in him lol. Wriothesley becomes Fontaine's idealised "rags to riches" story. Then, not only is he extraordinary, he also is 'humble' about it. "You don't know you're beautiful/That's what makes you beautiful" moment lmao.

With Neuvillette, had they actually shown that he's ill-equipped to do his job as someone who struggles to relate to his subjects, I would have been like, yippee! Cool! Like I have reworked his story and characterisation to work in my mind to an embarrassing extent, and I whole-heartedly think it can be done with the premise they have set up for him. He could be complacent because he's never actually been allowed to step into the backstreets, because from the moment he stepped foot in Fontaine he's been treated as the upperclass, even when the Melusines were going through their fantasy racism shit. He's never had to fear for his life, or wonder when his next meal is. He gets water imported from all across the world, when people in the Fleuve Cendre/Meropide/Poisson probably struggles to get good plumbing and clean water.

And Focalors kept him there. He's very intentionally isolated so he can serve in her grand plan. It could also be an empathy issue, right, he can see people starve and think, cognitively, that it's just how the world is. That's just how humans are. You can really lean onto the Otherness of Neuvillette and portray him even as a overwhelmingly large, eldritch cryptid, who's trying to keep an ant colony alive simply because he likes ants. But he doesn't understand them, and because of that, he lets them die purely by accident most of the time. And he feels bad for it!

But I think the problem with it is that Genshin can't......... commit, and they can't stay consistent. They can't say he's powerless because Focalors is pulling the strings, or because of his own ineptitude, because they want Focalors to be sympathetic, and they want to say Neuvillette is cool and powerful. Like he has canonically enforced judicial changes. He essentially set up anti-discrimination laws for the Melusines. He's fully capable to. But now, because MHY forgot about that, now it seems like he only makes changes when it affects him and those he cares about, and not the hundreds and thousands of children who died due to poverty and incarceration in his time as Iudex. Then the whole thing with how he's able to pull strings to Get the Traveller into prison, but you tell me he can't... I dunno, fudge the verdict a little every once in a while? When he has to sentence a child to prison???

And obviously, these inconsistencies aren't intentional, because if you try to rationalise them, Neuvillette would end up looking like a weirdo bigot who only cares about one specific species and took a specific liking to one minor for no discernible reason. And he's not meant to be seen as that. The Melusines lore was meant to show that he cares about them. The Wriothesley lore is also meant to show that he cares about this poor starving kid. MHY just forgor there's many other starving kids in Fontaine.

His whole character hinges on the fact that underneath his cold impartiality is a guy who has a bleeding heart, who literally cries all the damn time. That's his Core Concept. MHY just sucked at writing it because........ writing teams aren't talking to each other.

Like, once people realised a lot of characterisation debates in genshin fandom can be answered with "MHY is just shit at their job", half of the complaints would be redirected to the fucking company instead of the characters/shippers lmao. Like, Lanoire. Wriothesley would have never allowed her to keep living like that. Now if you try to rationalise that whole quest, you have to think "maybe Wriothesley doesn't care all that much" or "maybe he doesn't know Meropide as well as he does," both of which contradicts canon facts about him. Because he has eyes everywhere (and even if he doesn't, his guards would 100% just tell him instead of just trying to sneak the kid out, because they canonically get Rewarded for shit like that). And he, canonically, cares about people's quality of life and safety in Meropide. He'd hate to have something like this fall under his nose.

So yeah yippee. I mean, I will keep drawing art and writing wrlt, obviously. I don't gotta explain that to anyone else. I think I know better than MHY /lh

What made you pick up the current muse(s) you have?  puck darlington crawled inside my ear & attached himself to my brain like a parasite, and it wasn't enough for him to have 800 playthroughs in bg3. he needed to have several hundred thousand documents written about himself, too. 

Is there anything you don’t like to write?  i'm sure there's something, but nothing is coming to mind at the moment. i guess, for puck specifically, i'm a bit burnt out on writing during the events of the first 2 acts of bg3. i've explored those two in particular a LOT already, so i'm kinda like “yes, yes. he's two days old & he has murder urges, blah blah blah. seen it before.” 

not that i'm completely adverse to writing those. there are still ways to make them interesting & fun, i'm sure. :~)

He could FEEL Mallory's eyebrow raise despite being unable to see it.

"Say what? Boyfriend? That's like, what he is, right?"

Silence.

"Stop denying the boyfriend allegations. Doesn't he like, live with you? I told you how fucked that is, right? Because that's kinda fucked. You met him like what, a few weeks ago? A month tops?" Mallory's tone wasn't judgmental so much as blunt.

Technically, and he would never tell Mallory this, Akingraeux had moved in only a couple DAYS after they had met. Per their… Arrangement. But he couldn't exactly say, 'Hey, he's an old god that's starved for faith and I'm stupid and gay, so I said I'd give it to him.'

"Well he's… It wasn't in a gay way, he just needed a place to stay. He was… Inbetween homes? A-And he works from home, so how is he supposed to do his job if he's homeless!" Adri realized he had descended into frantic rambling, which was never a good look in Mal's eyes.

"Right," was all she said and this time, there WAS a tint of judgment to her words. Then she sighed, pulling out a box of menthols and shaking one out. "Well, if slash when he turns out to be a jackass, I'll totes drag him out of there by his hair if I need to. Though he kinda looks like the type of guy that'd like that."

"MAL!"

"ADRI!"

Adri's pout incited a Mallory smirk before she made her grand exit towards the back of the gallery. He made sure the clicking of her heels was out of hearing range before he came from behind the counter and made his way to the front of the shop.

Aki was there, his arms folded over his chest as the bell over the door rang, signifying that someone had just left.

"Stop scaring off the customers," Adri commented, crossing his own arms and craning his neck to look up at Aki as he stood beside him.

"I'm NOT! It's so hurtful that you would say that, have you considered people might actually want to come talk to me?" Aki mock-pouted, contrastingly wrapping an arm around Adri's shoulders and giving him a little shake as he was wont to do.

Adri couldn't help but crack a small smile, his cheeks heating up.

"Was that Kylar, then?"

"Del, actually. Birthday shopping and all that jazz."

Adri blinked.

"Oh shit, is Kylar's birthday coming up or something?"

Nodding, Aki screwed his mouth to the side thoughtfully.

"Yeah, wondering if we should get him something and/or what."

Adri mimicked the expression, finding himself leaning into Aki's side. He was always so warm. And he smelled nice. And-

"Uhhh, we could cut out the semantics and let him have first pick next market? No charge, obvs," he managed to keep himself from sounding flustered, though his face had reddened marginally.

"COOL, SO GLAD I ASKED YOU TO DO YOUR JOB, YOU'RE THE BEST, ADRI!" came Mal's voice from the back of the shop.

At the sudden scolding, Adri winced but smiled all the same.

"She's not being cruel, that's just her brand of affection. Buuut I'm sure you're acquainted enough to know that by now."

"Oh yeah, totally. You introduced me to your friends, biiig step. We'll be wed in no time," Aki squinted with an instigative grin, and Adri knew that he could feel the way his heart thumped wildly at the comment.

"N- Y- I-"

"Shhhh, don't talk. You're just so sexy when you speak eloquently to me," Aki mercilessly continued his onslaught of teasing.

"S-Stop it! You're so mean to me!" Adri ultimately pouted, ducking out from under his arm and standing with his back facing Aki.

Aki laughed, returning his arms to their position over his chest.

"Don't say that so loud, Mal might drag me out of here by my hair."

"She said she thinks you'd be into that."

"Oh, I am."

Checkmate, Adri's face burned again.

"I'm gonna goooo back to the gallery, I think some of the prints need restocked," he half-muttered.

"You want me to stay out of your way?" Aki inquired with a tilt of his head.

Silence.

"Ohhh, you want my company. How veeeerrry scandalous, being on the clock and all."

"D-Do whatever you want!" Adri whirled around now, biting his lower lip in embarrassment.

"Hah! What I want," Aki approached, his torturous advances continuing as he tilted Adri's head up, "is to spend a little quality time while you do what you love."

Adri hadn't expected something so romantic, his wide eyes blinking. He was unaware of how those eyelashes fluttering affected Aki, whose smirk widened further only slightly.

"O-Okay… Thanks," was all he could bring himself to say, turning his head to the side, as was the only way he could escape eye contact.

Aki let out another 'hah!', releasing Adri's chin to ruffle his hair.

"Of course," he replied, passing Adri as he began to make his way to the gallery. He paused, turning his head around enough that Adri could make out a pleased squint through a gap in his hair. "That's what boyfriends are for, right?"

OK, [REDACTED FOR ABOVE-THE-CUT SPOILERS] is dead so it's time for Hector to go paw through his stuff.

Hopefully not all of it is completely covered in blood. XD

Hector is feeling pretty freaked out about this whole situation because

a) people he knows from history books in all his studies at the monastery keep popping to life in front of him and they are getting increasingly scary b) he has never seen Minsc and, especially, Jaheira as upset and angry as they were about Sarevok's existence; I think he's come to trust Jaheira's attitude as something of a barometer of how he feels about some things so seeing her agitated was disquieting c) I think it's finally clicked with him just how deep into the dark he is walking in going after Orin at all

But, as usual, there is no way out but through. Too many people's lives, including Lae'zel's, are depending on him holding strong here.

Sarevok is carrying:

An extremely shiny greatsword that heals the user 1-6hp on hit

An anti-fear, increased-crit-chance helmet that also gives dark vision and +1 to con saves

An amulet that causes bleeding when hitting targets with full HP

A "Map to Bhaal Temple"

Something called an "Abattoir Key" which seems Very Concerning

I would put the helmet on Minsc and the amulet on Hector but giving the former Sarevok's helmet and the latter something literally called "Amulet of Bhaal" feels mean. So we might sell those. Karlach however can use the sword because its name is just "Sword of Chaos" which is relatively inoffensive.

The helmet's description is kind of fun because it features a Caden reference:

The Abattoir, it seems, is the next room to progress in this area; there's another side room before that which seems to be mostly prison cells, but nothing too interesting in there except a dead Fist carrying an unfinished love letter to a local entertainer, and a note on the walls instructing the guards to feed the prisoners meat shipped in from a local mass grave. :/

Much more interesting development in Sarevok's office, which is right off the prison area:

Well, that's upsetting on a number of levels, and somehow the fact that Orin is Sarevok's granddaughter happens to be the LEAST upsetting thing about it. Very glad we killed that guy (twice). Ugh. Anyway presumably this information will be useful later or something.

2. What’s your total AO3 word count? 2,319,545. I am. Verbose.

3. What fandoms do you write for? Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Legend of Zelda, Ace Attorney, Mystic Messenger, and then I wrote the novelization of the song 6969 by Ninja Sex Party and a Caduceus character study for CR.

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

Indefensible (Ace Attorney) has 1,234 (HA!)

As Bright as the Stars (Mystic Messenger) has 1111 (ALSO HA)

Tearing Down the Heavens (Dragon Age: Inquisition) has 730

Hundred Years in the Making (LoZ: Breath of the Wild) has 627

Genuinely really surprised none of the Mass Effect fics are in this category, I'm so proud of those XD

5. Do you respond to comments? Absolutely always, whenever possible. lol I will also ramble at anyone that asks me questions.

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Probably The Traveler, which I warn you from the very start has a sad ending. It's Dragon Age fic retelling the stories Solas tells of his time dreaming in the Fade, with the trappings of a Doctor Who theme in which he travels through the fade with a series of companions.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Uhhhhhhh I think probably We Are Ferelden comes closes to a happy ending? Eventually I will give my DA series an actual happy ending though. Most of them end either bittersweet in some way or as a sort of non-ending ending because I know the story continues.

8. Do you get hate on fics? I've gotten a wee bit of hate on the Zelda fic, Hundred Years in the Making, but it was fairly mild. I don't really respond to it much though because it's hard for a stranger to say something that will actually hurt my fee fees XD

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Oh yeah, sure. Most my fics contain smut of some kind. I don't really write smut without plot, though, it's gotta be a natural part of the narrative or I just lose interest.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? I have not. I just haven't thought of one that caught my attention enough to want to write it down.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I'm aware of. I have had some lines and suggestions used, but usually that's with credit. lol now I HAVE had jokes and things I've said stolen but that's a bit different.

(if I were putting it in a novel I'd prob pay to have someone look it over, but fic is free and thus my resources put into it are limited lol)

19. First fandom you wrote for? I'm gonna assume the AU crossover I wrote for Pokemon/Dragonriders of Pern/Zelda/Narnia when I was 9 does not count. lol it was Dragon Age tho

20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written? My Mass Effect series, I think. I love different things about all my fics, usually because I was doing different things in all of them, but A Name for the Stars trilogy is something that I'm most proud of. Almost every scene in that serves a plot purpose and I wove a LOT of different things together to create one cohesive thing, and I think if you can get through all of it, it has the biggest bang for the buck. Also I burned that realllll slow XD
