Crash Course Navigating Digital Information - Episode 6: Evaluating Evidence
How do you know if something is true? Let’s just sit with that question for a little bit… I love the Internet and all of the possibilities and “freedoms” that it presents. Access to information and the ability to share with anyone is unprecedented. But we all have to remember that all of this “freedom” is not Free. Because anyone can present anything as the Truth, we have to be that much more…

What's New Wednesday #36: Lest I Forget
What’s New Wednesday #36: Lest I Forget
Hey-hey-hey! It’s What’s New Wednesday time again and, lest I forget, I thought it best to get everything written down before my baby brain turns everything into mush for the umpteenth week in a row. Yes, I’ve been forgetting a lot of things lately. I don’t mean to forget. Honest. I even have a little notebook to help me remember, but half the time I forget where I put the damn thing. Not today,…

Melbourne playlist
There is no other city like Melbourne! It sure is a stand out city. I go there at least once a year and always look forward to going back as soon as I left it. But it’s more than just a city. It’s the music from this place that is undeniably awesome.
So I put together a playlist of bands, artists from Melbourne and beyond the city limits. It was one of the more fun playlists I put together and I hope you enjoy it. Maybe there is a song or a band from there I overlooked. Let me know!!

Chuck's Daily Check In - 11.22.18
FINAL FROM THE UNITED CENTER: Bulls 124, Phoenix 116. (Bulls 5-13, 3-7 at home)
LEADING SCORER: Bulls: LaVine 29 points. Phoenix: Booker: 23 points. LEADING REBOUNDERS: Bulls: Parker: 13. Phoenix: Ayton: 12. LEADING ASSISTS: Bulls: Parker 8. Phoenix: Booker and Canaan each with 6.
CCI RECAP: The Bulls' franchise talent Zach LaVine took over in the fourth quarter scoring 12 of his game high 29 points as the Bulls ended a four-game slide. The Bulls shot a season high 57% from the field and had six players score in double figures. Jabari Parker flirted with his first ever triple double and finished with a 20-13-8 line. Ryan Arcidiacono buried four triples and once again brought his heart and hustle to the ball club on both ends of the floor. Chandler Hutchison missed the game with back spasms. According to Head Coach Fred Hoiberg, Lauri Markkanen had his "best conditioning workout" on Wednesday. No timetable for Markkanen's return.
CCI GAME BALLS: LaVine, Parker, Arcidiacono and Blakeney. Phoenix: Ayton, Warren, Crawford.
UP NEXT: Home with Miami on Friday.
New York 117, Boston 109: What is going on with the Celtics? Boston is a 9-9 ball club. The Knicks end a six-game losing streak. Trey Burke off the bench scored 29 for the Knicks.
Los Angeles Lakers 109, Cleveland 105: LeBron James returned to Ohio and finished with 32-14-7. The Cavs organization did a fantastic job honoring James' accomplishments as a Cavaliers' player. Cleveland doesn't have James and their record falls to 2-14.
Toronto 124, Atlanta 108: An ironic twist for Vince Carter as he scored his 25,000 career point against the franchise he broke in with in 1998-99. The Raps' Kyle Lowry had a monster game of 21-12-17. Toronto improves to 15-4. Atlanta has lost nine straight and fell to 3-15.
Philadelphia 121, New Orleans 120: Joel Embiid filled up the stat sheet with a 31 points, 19 rebounds game. Twelve times this season, Embiid has reached at least 30 points and 15 rebounds. Anthony Davis missed a free throw with 2.5 seconds left that would have tied the game for the Pelicans.
Charlotte 127, Indiana 106: Kemba Walker dished out 11 assists.
Houston 126, Detroit 124 James Harden poured in a season-high 43 points. The Rockets have won 8 out of its last 10 games.
Milwaukee 143, Portland 100: The score says it all.
Denver 103, Minnesota 101: The Nuggets were desperate for a win and they got one. Paul Milsap with a 25-5-5 game.
Dallas 119, Brooklyn 113: The Mavs have won five straight in Dallas. Barnes and Doncic combined for 49 points.
Memphis 104, San Antonio 103: Marc Gasol with big time onions hitting two free throws with 0.7 seconds left. Mike Conley added 30 points. Memphis now seven games over.500. The Spurs drop to 8-9.
Sacramento 119, Utah 110: The Kings went on a 16-1 run late in the fourth quarter. Sacramento goes to 10-8. The Jazz surprisingly now 8-10.
OKC 123, Golden State 95: Russell Westbrook notched a triple double. Golden State played without Green and Curry. OKC's Hamidou Diallo was carted off on a stretcher in the fourth quarter but avoided a serious injury according to the team.
Caught up with the veteran "Voice of the Suns" the legendary Al McCoy who is respected by everyone in the NBA. Al is an energetic 86 years young. I would love to be calling Bulls games at 86. I'm serious!
To my faithful readers, I want to extend a Happy Thanksgiving to you and I sincerely appreciate your support and encouragement.

Cardigans for Fall.
We may be in the throes of summer, but that doesnt mean we can’t look forward to the coming season when temperatures will drop and we’ll be in need of something a little warmer. After my weekly roundup of the latest from net-a-porter, I saw a trend of thick knit cardigans (and jumpers) with various designs that’d look great come September when it’s cooler outside. There was one brand in…

Virgil Abloh's First Louis Vuitton Drop Is Here
Hello BoF Professionals, welcome to our latest members-only briefing: The Week Ahead. Think of it as your "cheat sheet" to what everyone will be talking about on Monday.
THE CHEAT SHEET
Louis Vuitton Embraces the Drop
Louis Vuitton Menswear Spring/Summer 2019 show | Source: Getty
Virgil Abloh's debut collection for Louis Vuitton went on sale via a one-week pop-up in London
Vuitton is trying the drop model for the first time with an entire mainline collection
Burberry, Fendi, Celine and Moncler are also experimenting with drops
Select shoppers are getting their first crack at Abloh's Spring/Summer 2019 menswear collection for Louis Vuitton at the brand's first product drop. Pioneered by Hiroshi Fujiwara before being popularised by the likes of Supreme, drops — or controlled releases of new products at a clip that’s far faster than the traditional fashion cycle — are designed to drive consumer excitement with a stream of constant newness. Other luxury players are testing similar waters. But the trick will be balancing the community-fueled energy of streetwear drops, which often attract hordes of young fans, with a luxury-like shopping experience.
The Bottom Line: Too much "street" and luxury drops risk diluting carefully cultivated brand equity, but reducing them to glorified private shopping appointments could miss the magic of turning a product release into a genuine event that energises fans of the brand to show up and post on social media.
China Throws a Wrench Into Kering's 'Progressive Normalisation'
A Gucci store in China | Source: Shutterstock
Kering will report third-quarter earnings on Tuesday
Kering CFO said in April to expect “progressive normalisation” after explosive growth
Luxury stocks have plunged on fears the Chinese government will enforce a $700 limit on spending abroad
Until recently, Kering’s financial performance was as predictable as a Girard-Perregaux watch. But after years of soaring sales, on the back of white-hot Gucci, Balenciaga and the booming China luxury trade, Kering is preparing for the inevitable comedown. It’s sensible to let a little air out of the luxury bubble; Gucci CEO Marco Bizzarri isn’t wrong when he tells store employees that no company can grow at the house's current torrid pace forever. But forces beyond Kering’s control threaten to pop the bubble entirely. China is cracking down on luxury imports, which could slim the sales impact of the country’s huge outbound tourist flows at Gucci flagships around the world. And the US-China trade war could sap consumer demand in China itself. Kering shares are down 29 percent from June’s all-time high, part of a broader swoon in luxury stocks.
The Bottom Line: European luxury brands are largely at the mercy of Chinese authorities and US president Donald Trump; they don’t have an obvious alternative customer if Chinese tourists stop loading up on handbags while on holiday.
H&M Hopes Lightning Strikes Twice With Moschino
Aquaria modelling H&M X Moschino | Source: Instagram/@itsjeremyscott
Jeremy Scott’s Moschino collection for H&M debuts in a New York fashion show Wednesday
H&M’s designer collaborations started with Karl Lagerfeld in 2004; Balmain's 2015 collection was widely considered the most successful
Collections are limited and typically sell out fast but success is measured in media impressions
In keeping with the Moschino brand, everything about H&M’s latest designer collaboration is sure to be a little extra. H&M, which does about one of these a year, is clearly hoping to recreate the magic of its Balmain collaboration in 2015, which succeeded with the only measure that counts: social media impressions (#hmbalmaination was tagged 73,000 times on Instagram, #hmoschino has 2,000 so far though that's sure to rise between Wednesday's show and items going on sale November 8). These collaborations are no-brainers for luxury brands, which gain enormous exposure and a big payday while facing little stigma for briefly mingling with the masses. H&M has less to show for it - growth has slowed in the post-Balmain years.
The Bottom Line: For H&M, the success of its designer collaborations hinges on their ability to generate buzz and drive shoppers to stores where they inevitably pick up other items. But even if Moschino is a hit, repeating that success only grows harder as the brand is running out of blockbuster names.
COMMENTS OF THE WEEK
Hedi Slimane's debut collection for Celine | Source: InDigital
Anabel Maldonado's "Defense of Hedi Slimane" had the BoF community divided on the Celine designer's approach to women's fashion:
"Defenders of Slimane are stubbornly refusing to see the point - traditionally womenswear designers have been overwhelmingly male, and many would agree that the clothing has not always met every woman's needs. So when a man takes over a previously female led house that has been celebrated as an alternative to sexy dressing and turns it into cliche sex-wear, optics wise, it does appear the female voice has been silenced in favor of a man's." -Jessica Kosak
"The problem, it turns out, is not so much that men cannot tap into what women want but rather that some critics didn't like the conception of femininity that Slimane works with. But it is just that - one possible conception of femininity out of a myriad ways to imagine the dressed woman." -Frederik Højgaard

Open for a Month, San Francisco's Transit Terminal Shut Down Due to Cracked Beams
"The cracked beam was spotted Tuesday morning by workers installing ceiling panels on the center’s third-floor bus platform, and concern over its potential failure prompted city officials to close the terminal and some streets at 4:30 p.m," report Matier & Ross for the Chronicle on Sept. 28.
They shunted rush-hour commuters to the nearby Temporary Transbay Terminal, which had been used during the center’s construction.
During an overnight inspection of the center, which opened on Aug. 11, a second crack was discovered, though smaller than "[t]he initial tear [that] runs about 2½ feet long and 4 inches deep through the bottom of a 60-foot-long beam that supports both the center’s celebrated rooftop park above and a bus deck below," reported the Chronicle's Kurtis Alexander and Evan Sernoffsky on Sept. 27.
Representatives of the Transbay Joint Powers Authority, which built and operates the transit center, said Wednesday they didn’t know the causes of the cracks, but they remained concerned about the potential for the beams to fail. Fremont Street, which passes under the center, also is scheduled to stay closed through Oct. 5.
The Chronicle's urban design critic, John King, delves into the structural engineering aspects of the three-block, 1,500-foot building that "twice span major roadways."
Those spans are supported by just four massive beams. Two of them have cracked.
What makes the situation so worrisome is that the cracked girders are the primary means of support for the transit center as it spans Fremont. The only things below the bus deck are sidewalks and asphalt.
King interviewed many structural engineers for the story.
“You’ve got a bus deck hanging from a column that in turn is held up by two cracked beams,” said Joe Maffei, founder of San Francisco’s Maffei Structural Engineering...“I think we are lucky that there was not a collapse.”
While it is not known what caused the cracking of the steel beams which were fabricated by Herrick Corp. in Stockton, Calif., King offers one possiblity:
The most troubling scenario is that the design by Thornton Tomassetti structural engineers and Pelli Clark Pelli Architects didn’t adequately account for the twin pressures of a bus deck and rooftop.
"Hydraulic jacks and newly fabricated steel beams arrived Sunday morning ... where they’ll be used to shore up the spot over Fremont Street where cracks were discovered," reports Michael Cabanatuan on Sept. 30.
By midnight Sunday, Mark Zabaneh, director for the Transbay Joint Powers Authority, said the first of three phases of shoring up the transit center should be completed. It’s not yet clear how long the whole process will take, but by Monday or Tuesday, he said, authorities should have a better idea of when they can partially open Fremont Street.
Once crews install the temporary bracing, it will relieve weight from the damaged girders and allow extensive testing to help determine the cause of the cracking. It could take a week or longer to get results of those tests, he said.
Matier and Ross note the proximity of the transit center to two other engineering failures:
The center sits next to the troubled Millennium Tower, which has sunk 18 inches since it opened in 2009.
The cracked beam is also reminiscent of the cracked bolts that plagued the eastern span of the Bay Bridge.

Chuck's Daily Check In - 02.12.19
FINAL FROM THE UNITED CENTER: Milwaukee 112, Bulls 99 (Bulls: 13-44, 5-23 at home)
LEADING SCORERS: Bulls: LaVine - 27, Bucks: Antetokounmpo - 29 LEADING REBOUNDERS: Bulls: Markkanen - 17, Bucks: Antetokounmpo - 17 LEADING ASSISTS: Bulls: LaVine - 7, Bucks: Antetokounmpo - 8
CCI RECAP: The Bucks pulled away from the Bulls in the fourth quarter as Giannis was tremendous with a 29-17-8, 4 blocked shots game. In my opinion, he is the MVP. There are so many worthy candidates but he is doing the heavy lifting in Milwaukee. Eric Bledsoe was a difference maker in the final quarter scoring 12 of his 19 points. The loss offset outstanding performances by Zach LaVine (27 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists). Lauri Markkanen (20 points, 17 rebounds, his fourth straight double-double and seventh in the last eight games). Otto Porter Jr notched 18 points and is averaging 17 in his first three games in a Bulls uniform. Robin Lopez with 17 points. The Bulls have lost 11 straight at home.
CCI IN THE LOCKER ROOM: Coach Boylen: "With 5 minutes to go, we got six stops in a row. That's good...but you gotta score too."
UP NEXT: Home with Memphis Wednesday.
Toronto 127, Brooklyn 125: Kawhi Leonard with the go ahead hoop with 4.2 seconds left. Leonard scored 30 points. Marc Gasol scored 16-11 in the fourth quarter. Raps guard Fred Van Vleet is sidelined for three weeks with a left thumb injury. The Raps agreed to terms with veteran guard Jeremy Lin who reached a buyout agreement with Atlanta.
Cleveland 107, New York 104: Someone had to win, right? Right? The Knicks have now lost 17 straight and 30 of their last 32. Enough said. The Cavs "improved" to 12-45.
Houston 120, Dallas 104: James Harden with 31, his 30th straight game of scoring 30 or more. He's one game away from tying Wilt Chamberlain for the second longest streak of 30 point games in NBA history. Chamberlain also holds the record for 30 point streaks with 65. Incredible.
Minnesota 130, Los Angeles Clippers 120: Derrick Rose returned to the floor after missing time with an ankle injury and poured in 22 points. Lou Williams scored a season high 45 points off the bench and went a perfect 16-16 from the free throw line.
Oklahoma City 120, Portland 111: Russell Westbrook set an NBA record with his 10th straight triple-double (21-14-11). Paul George added a triple double as well (47-12-10). I hope you appreciate what Westbrook is doing...do NOT take this player for granted.
Denver 103, Miami 87: The Nuggets improved to 18-1 when holding opponents to under 100 points.
Detroit 121, Washington 112: Andre Drummond with a monster 32-17 game. Blake Griffin had 31-9-9. The Pistons suddenly have won four straight, their longest win streak of the season.Bobby Portis scored 24 for Washington.
Indiana 99, Charlotte 90: The Pacers have won six straight-all without Victor Oladipo.
A pleasure meeting the incredibly talented actor-vocal artist Miguel Cervantes, who plays the lead role in "Hamilton." Miguel had a fantastic evening catching the Bulls on his off night and it was thrill to engage in conversation with him prior to the tipoff.

Chuck's Daily Check In - 04.05.2019
The Bulls went through practice as they prepare for Saturday’s home game against Philadelphia.
The play of Walter Lemon Jr. and JaKarr Sampson have re-energized the “Baby Bulls” over the past week. The two G-League signees have produced in their brief stint with the team adding offensive versatility. Lemon is averaging 19 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists in three games in a Bulls uniform. His two free throws with less than two seconds remaining carried the Bulls to a road win over Washington on Wednesday.
Lemon Jr. told Bulls.com, “I can’t even explain what I’m feeling. It’s been a ride. Humbled and grateful to be here. When most guys get called up they might not get the opportunity to play, but the fact Coach is trusting me to play & close out a game is a huge blessing.”
Meantime, JaKarr Sampson in two games is averaging 20 points and 8 rebounds per game, shooting 66% from the floor.
Before arriving in Chicago via the G-League, Sampson had stops with Philadelphia, Denver and Sacramento. Sampson’s 22 points and seven rebounds against the Wizards helped the Bulls end a five game slide.
“It definitely feels good to break the losing streak. We just need to keep playing defense, finish strong, play the right way and play together. We’re competing for spots." Sampson tells Bulls.com
Milwaukee 128, Philadelphia 122. The Bucks claimed home court advantage throughout the playoffs picking up win #59. The 76ers have lost five of their last seven. The game of the night in the NBA and it had the feel of a playoff affair and more. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid were on center stage and did not disappoint. The Bucks defense was superb down the stretch. Giannis was fabulous with 45 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 blocks. Embiid: 34-13-13 - 3 blocks. Jimmy Butler missed the game with a back issue. FINAL FROM THE UNITED CENTER:
Toronto 122, Bulls 83. (Bulls: 4-13, 2-7 at home)
LEADING SCORERS: Bulls: Blakeney: 13 points. Toronto: VanVleet: 18 points. LEADING REBOUNDERS: Bulls: Parker: 6. Toronto: Valanciunas: 9. LEADING ASSISTS: Bulls: Harrison: 6. Toronto: Lowry: 8.
CCI RECAP: Two stars sat this one out respectively for the Bulls and Raptors alike: Zach LaVine (illness) and Kawhi Leonard (load management). Guard Fred VanVleet from nearby Rockford made his first NBA start in his 126th NBA game and delivered, drilling 4- 3 point shots, setting the tone early as the Raptors led 27-18 after the first quarter and never looked back. As was the case Friday in Milwaukee, the Bulls struggled in the third quarter as the Raps won the scoring column 32-12. The Bulls surrendered 58 points in the paint and were out rebounded 54-34. It’s a tall order to play an Eastern Conference power such as Toronto minus five of your best players. No excuses. Just facts.
CCI Inside the Locker Room: Coach Hoiberg: "Nobody in the league is going to feel sorry for us. We have to find a way to stick together, and that's what I'm seeing (in the locker room)."
CCI GAME BALLS: Bulls: Harrison, Holiday and Hutchison. Toronto: Green and VanVleet.
Up next: Home with Phoenix on Wednesday.
Philadelphia 122, Charlotte 119 OT. Jimmy Butler in his third game with the 76ers drilled the game winning shot-a 3 pointer as time expired in OT. Kemba Walker scored a career and franchise high 60 points. It was also an NBA season high.
Utah 98, Boston 86. A rare weekend home and home for the Celtics. On Friday, Boston found a way to beat the Raps in OT but last night it was too much Donovan Mitchell as the Jazz came through. Mitchell with 28 points and six assists. Utah beat Boston for the second time in eight days.

Chuck's Daily Check In - 11.20.18
The Bulls announced that guard Denzel Valentine has been diagnosed with ongoing ankle instability. After being evaluated by Dr. Bob Anderson, a foot and ankle specialist in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Valentine will undergo a surgical reconstruction by Dr. Anderson the week of Nov. 26 with an anticipated recovery time of four to six months. He is expected to make a full recovery and have a normal summer of offseason training leading into training camp for the 2019-20 season.
The Bulls hit the practice floor on Monday. A few quotes from Head Coach Fred Hoiberg addressing the media:
On the status of injured guard Kris Dunn: "Kris is doing well. Still no change in the time frame but he's been doing some straight ahead running and hopefully making progress in the right direction."
Hoiberg on "glue" players keeping the team together: "Ryan Arcidiacono has done a really good job on being vocal. It doesn't matter what role he's in; he's still going to be a vocal player and person. The other guys that talk a lot is Denzel who really tries to bring guys together in the huddle.
"Bobby (Portis) is talking trying to lead. Lauri (Markkanen) is doing more talking this year. Robin (Lopez) and Justin (Holiday) do a good job as well. Right now it's a collective effort until we get some of those guys back."
Hoiberg on rookie sensation Deandre Ayton of the Suns, Chicago's next opponent on Wednesday: "He's a monster down there. He's got great instincts. A very good offensive rebounder. He's going to be a handful."
Congratulations to Chandler Hutchison on winning the 28th annual Bulls Bowling Championship. He edged out Cristiano Felicio for the title.
Philadelphia 119, Phoenix 114: Joel Embiid with a monster night of 33 points and 17 rebounds. Ben Simmons 19-11-9. The 76ers have won three straight and go to 9-0 at home. The Suns will take their 3-13 and 0-7 road record in to the United Center Wednesday.
Milwaukee 104, Denver 98: Milwaukee overcame a 17-point halftime deficit (Sound familiar? Bulls had a huge lead at half Friday) and swept the mini season series from the Nuggets. Denver has lost six of seven games.
Charlotte 117, Boston 112: Another home loss for the Celtics, their second in as many games. Kemba Walker went off scoring 43 points giving him 103 – that's right CCI readers — 103 points the past two games. Wowza!
Los Angeles Clippers 127, Atlanta 119: One of the feel good stories of the NBA season is the play of Montrezl Harrell. A 25-11 game helped the Clippers win their fifth straight.
New Orleans 140, San Antonio 126: Julius Randle of NOLA with a 21-14-10 game in only 25 minutes... now that is impressive.
Memphis 98, Dallas 88: The Grizzlies are hoopin' winning their fourth straight game and six of seven. Marc Gasol with a 17-15 performance. The loss snapped Dallas' four-game win streak.
Detroit 113, Cleveland 102: The Cavs are now an NBA worst 2-13. Up next LeBron and the Lakers in Cleveland Wednesday night.
Sacramento 117, OKC 113: Rookie Marvin Bagley III with his first career double-double for the Kings. Russell Westbrook had 29 points and 13 assists in his first game back since November 5. He missed five games with an ankle injury.
Indiana 121, Utah 94: The two bigs for the Pacers: Sabonis and Turner were terrific. Bogdanovic scored 21 points. Indiana has won three straight at home.
A Woj bomb from ESPN... Washington's John Wall was fined by the team for unloading a verbal barrage at coach Scott Brooks in a recent practice session. Wall did apologize to Brooks shortly afterward and his teammates the following day.
Miami's Goran Dragic will be out for at least the next couple of games after having his swollen right knee drained. The Heat play the Bulls at the United Center on Friday. If Dragic can't play against the Bulls it will be a major loss for Miami. He's averaging 16 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds per game.
Josh Richardson of the Heat was fined $25,000 for tossing his shoe into the stands on Sunday night vs. the Lakers.
This day in NBA history: Dallas' A.C. Green plays in his 907th consecutive game, breaking the NBA record set by Randy Smith. Green's streak would end at 1,192 games which remains a record.

LeBron James Surpasses Wilt Chamberlain as NBA's 5th-Leading Scorer of All-Time
After muscling past his defender for an and-1 floater, LeBron James stepped to the foul line and sunk his free throw, making league history in the process.
With that extra point, he passed Wilt Chamberlain for the NBA’s fifth-most points of all-time.
“To do what he did and get on the top five of that list and play basketball the way he plays basketball — with how unselfish he is and how great he is at getting his teammates involved — is something that should be praised and talked about,” Lakers coach Luke Walton said.
“I’m doing my part congratulating one of the all-time greats on a great accomplishment.”
By dropping 44 points against Portland on Wednesday, James — who succeeded Dirk Nowitzki for sixth place just three weeks ago — now has 31,425 career points.
Only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387), Karl Malone (36,928), Kobe Bryant (33,643) and Michael Jordan (32,292) have ever scored more. James is on pace to pass Jordan this season.
LeBron is undeniably one of the greatest scorers the league has ever seen, ascending to fifth all-time in points despite playing just the 52nd-most games.
His 27.15 career scoring average trails only Jordan (30.12), Chamberlain (30.07) and Elgin Baylor (27.36).
Now a member of the Lakers, it was only fitting that James surpassed Chamberlain in the arena where his jersey hangs in the rafters.
Chamberlain enjoyed a 14-year career, leading the league in scoring in half of those. He played from 1959-73, concluding with five seasons as a Laker.
“[Chamberlain was] one of the most dominant forces we ever had in our game, along with Shaq,” James said. “One of the greatest Lakers that ever played the game.
“Hundred-point scorer. One of the greatest scorers and rebounds to ever play this game. Multi-sport, [multi]-dimension type of athlete. People never saw something like that in that era. Just dominated in all walks of life, not only basketball.”
When the buzzer sounded on his historic night, James immediately tracked down the game ball.
Later, he revealed that he planned to send the ball and his uniform to the I Promise School, which he founded in Akron, Ohio.
“Any time my name is mentioned with some of the greats that played this game, I always think of my hometown and where I come from and how far I’ve come,” James said. “That’s it for me.”
