Hello! You have opened a fascinating door into kink communities I didn't even know existed. Thanks for that. I was describing some of your steamworks adventures to my partner, who works as a Disease Intervention Specialist (aka DIS, a government healthcare worker who administers free/low-cost STD testing and then attempts to track down and notify+test the recent sexual partners of any infected individuals). (He brings some INSANE stories home from work and gets to give sex ed talks at the local Christian college using a model penis that actually ejaculates--but I digress.) He was horrified by the hypothetical situation where an infected person could have blindfolded sex with an unknown number of nameless strangers. It's hard enough trying to track down partners when the patient only knew them by their Grindr username. How do you have safe sex in these situations? Some STDs can be transmitted via skin-to-skin contact even with a condom. Do venues like steamworks enforce any rules around testing/protection/etc.?
If your partner is 'horrified' by the actual sex lives of the populations he ostensibly serves I think he needs to read more from harm reductionist thinkers and queer activists from a variety of past eras and work on processing his feelings of judgement to ensure it doesn't impact his actions in that line of work.
The books and Melancholia and Moralism, Saving Our Own Lives, and Beyond Shame: Reclaiming the Abandoned History of Radical Gay Sexuality are good places to start.
If you're having anonymous or blindfolded sex in cruising spaces, one route of managing risks is to assume that every person there could be infected with STIs you do not have and to plan accordingly. Vaccines, condoms, PreP, testing, and education are just some of the tools at one's disposal, and one should always be cognizant of the risks that one is consenting to. Steamworks has sexual health educators and testers present within their space regularly, but they don't gatekeep based on serostatus, health status, drug regimen or use of protection -- doing so wouldn't be feasible and would be problematic on multiple grounds.
I don't believe the goal of a public health initiative or a life well lived is to eliminate all risk, or to regard the presence of any infection in any human body as unacceptable, but rather to empower people to make informed decisions about the level of risk they are comfortable confronting, or that is worth the numerous benefits to them.
Personally, I was in far greater danger when I didn't have access to such spaces. Cruising spaces make negotiating sexual consent far safer than privately dating and hooking up with someone, and Steamworks are vitally important queer community spaces, and for me are well worth the trade off. No one should have any illusions about this ever being an experience that they can eliminate all risk from, rather they should anticipate it and plan for it.
I think "safe sex" is an unhelpful framework to pursue because it is so binary and can't ever be guaranteed. What does safety mean? Which types of exposures do we consider to be "unsafe"? Am I unsafe if I encounter another person who, like me, has had a cold sore before, like 80% of the population? Or someone who has a strain of HPV I am vaccinated against? What about if I have an encounter with somebody with a cold? I'm "safer" being fucked by an HIV positive person who is undetectable and wearing a condom than I am having barrier free sex with a long term partner who cheats. I can't even know I'm taking a risk in the latter case; at Steamworks, I'm assuming my risk level to be on the high end and planning accordingly.
I understand that testing and tracing are important parts of public health for our populations. It was vitally important when monkeypox broke out. Maybe Steamworks should collect member emails and alert them if there was a reported transmission on a night that they visited. Though even then, there are some negative public health implications to dozens of people panicking. But there is no means of eliminating all risk entirely or tracing all human sexual behavior and I would be myself pretty horrified if there was.

kinda pray for monkeypox not becoming a big deal
like our world going NUTS we dont need it too THO very often i think about how everythinh that happens is part of future's history and it makes me kinda less paranoid because people been thorught worse and it wont be a big deal for anyone
ALSO GOT REALLY OFFENDED BY THE APPLICATION THAT CPVID MADE PEOPLE STRUGGLE WITH ASKING FOR KETCHUP for me it qasnt covid i swear i jusy became insane and now try to get more like a human
YESSS YOU GET ITTT!!! LIKE I JUST HOPE ITS NOT TRUE. THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION IS ALREADY FINDING CURES TO IT OR SOMETHING LIKE OMG PLS GO BACK TO FINDING A CURE FOR CANCER LIKE MONKEY POX WONT GET THAAAT BAD....right
(upcoming yap session put Ur seat belts on)
I often think about how back then it was way worse. Like ah yes, I'm a Victorian child born into a lower class family and I'm forced to labour all my life living in the streets of London or something. Of course, you don't have food or water or any source of hygiene to begin with. The worst part is..water quality was so bad back then that if you don't have drinking water; people just drink beer instead.
Imagine your 6 year old daughter working her life off mining in a cave with starvation since yesterday and you have to just give her MORE beer to fill her stomach 😭 like oh GOD that's miserable..
and after all that, im surprised the diseases we get now are more "dangerous" than back then. Mind you, people in the 1800s or 1700s had like NO technology to even think of finding a cure. Like damn you didn't even invent a microscope YET. <- I'll educate you a bit about history..the first microscope as a CONCEPT was made by a Dutch man named Zacharias Janssen all the way back in 1590!!! But the first MODERN microscope that we know nowadays with all the different lenses and even coloured was in 1774. That's like almost 2 centuries later...and incase you haven't focused in your 7th grade science class, the first atomic theory was in 1804. If you understand where I'm going with this, we humans are slow as HELLL.
I'm mentioning all of this saying dude...you're telling me people back then had some deadly diseases, couldn't cure it, DIED on streets, and didnt even GET quarantine.
LIKE NO OLIVIA YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE A WIFE IN THE 1800s. NOT ONLY WILL YOU GET YOUR RIGHTS TAKEN AWAY BUT YOURE ALSO GONNA GET BORN, MARRIED AT 7 YEARS OLD TO THE PRINCE OF FRANCE, GET A DEADLY VIRUS AND DIE BY 12. MUST BE SOO NICE TO BE A WIFE IN THE 1800s CAUSE YOURE BORN IN THE WRONG GENERATION...right?? ❤️
Talking about generation...which I bet everyone is sick of me talking about..but like dude would our generation survive if we just got a time machine to the 17th century. Although I dont believe in the evolution theory because we are NOT monkeys but I believe over time humans learn new skills, which changes their life styles therefore their bodies change too because every creature adapts. Cool!!
You ever see those articles about how nowadays we stay on our phone all day and that'll make our bodies lazy and not used to work blah blah blah,, at first I was gonna say if we go back to the time the Spanish flu for example started we would PROBABLY survive because we have better education, better immune systems due to actual healthcare and we could definitely survive with just common sense. Like wtf?? I'm NOT going to visit by rat filled basement bare foot..
HOWEVER compare the average human who sits on bed all day scrolling and laughing at a glowy rectangular shaped decide called a phone...we would not last a day without internet...at least I know I wouldn't 🤦♀️🤦♀️
So like...think about it. Why is corona so dangerous?? It's only borderline to older diseases. Or maybe it's the other way around. Corona itself is DEADLY, but it's just the situation and life style we have today that makes me wonder why it's harmless. Like cough cough I got covid oh no!!! I can just stay in my home all day.. like you get what I mean?? I'm sure you would just get back to work if you were unfortunately lower class victorian child and had covid..and dying probably gives you more peace than working a lifetime for 10 cents..
So that's it!!! Silly lil rant about Victorian children, diseases, Humans Adapting, science and history, and of course generations. MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE TOPICS TO TALK ABOUT!!!

EXCELLENT single source of info for everything you need to know about Monkey Pox courtesy of the great Dr Malone.
About a ten min read but truly is the only source you need.
Highlights:
Calls out the WHO and Tedros for being a POS.
Addresses the fear porn campaign (like Covid) and the use of ambiguous terms like “being reported” which are meaningless without details which are never given.
He calls out the retards who don’t believe in viruses. He himself is a virologist. Stop being stupid.
Addresses the coverup of gain of function by NIAID (just like Covid) on Monkey pox. (This GoF is its own, separate, deep dive)
Highlights the “deaths” from Monkey pox are almost all immunocompromised people to begin with. “Reported 500 deaths”. HIV also being rampant in the Congo. In essence, these folks are gonna die from “any” infection. But like Covid…it’s the “died WITH monkey pox vs died FROM Monkeypox” argument. The co-infection with HIV or otherwise immunocompromised is not spoken about.
Discussion of historical perspective since it’s first discovery in the 50s.
Discusses how big Pharm is driving the train as reflective in stocks. Sound familiar?
What is NOT specifically addressed in the article is that the sex trade is surely the number one factor in the spread of monkey pox. This can be put together in other research on the topic. He specifically points out the male to male sex is the prime factor which is commonly known. But remember those horrendous videos of people mining cobalt like ants? Most are kids. Mud covered. Elbow to elbow. Hygiene and safety not an apparent consideration. Yeah…think a virus spread by person to person contact is rampant there? None of these aspects are discussed by the media as it would “draw unwanted attention”.
For perspective, it’s noted this is the second WHO Public Health Emergency for Monkey Pox. Remember the first one went away as soon as it was reported children and pets were getting it. Tried to hide the fact it originated from a fetish festival! Weird eh? 500 supposedly died this round so far (again WITH monkey vs FROM monkeypox) BUT over a million die from malaria each year. Ever hear a thing about this from the WHO? Of course not.
Follow Dr Malones substack.

long post containing a lockdown infodump so LOCK IN. there will be stim gifs!
tl;drs will be included
so i’ve been doing a lot of research on covid, especially on why we went into lockdown in the first place?
covid was so unknown at the time, having ONE viral relative: SARS (the epidemic in 2003/04, no cases since). so i researched SARS. (scroll
checkpoint one: SARS
tl;dr, SARS didnt burn itself out, it was still contained due to human intervention, but it had very little asymptomatic cases and was not known to spread until symptom onset.
tl;dr two, covid was most transmissible before its symptom onset, and had LOTS of transmittable asymptomatic cases.
SARS-CoV-1 is an abbreviation for severe acute respiratory syndrome, coronavirus one. it caused a global epidemic in 2003-04, and a case hasnt been reported since then. covid is SARS-CoV-2. the two were about 80% similar, but those differences are key in covids boom.
im not gonna go in-detail about the specific mutations that cause these things (but i do know them, i think u guys might get bored) but covid had a much higher asymptomatic case rate (as high as 40%, estimated by wastewater) and still remained contagious. SARS on the otherhand had very little asymptomatic cases, and it did not remain contagious.
this is really important to consider, as 50-70% of SARS victims needed oxygen supplementation, and 20-30% were in the ICU. 13% of cases died. this is a lot compared to the 15-20% of hospitalizations due to covid, and 3-5% needing critical care.
quarantining and isolation was a lot easier when the virus wasnt spread until symptom onset, and most of the time caused severe enough illness to warrant hospitalization.
there was no cure or vaccine for SARS, you just had to wait it out and treat its symptoms.
checkpoint two: COVID
tl;dr, covid was a more severe illness with an extremely contagious nature. nobody knew what to do, and the american leadership added more strain due to the fact that trump tried to downplay the virus.
now that we know that covid was very unknown at the time, its parent virus had no cure and no vaccine, and covid bumped the transmission into gear, we can actually understand why lockdowns happened.
covid wasn’t mild like the flu or the common cold, but was still extremely contagious. shelter-in-place orders were placed so that the virus didn’t spread as quickly and mutate to become either more contagious, more deadly, or both, as more cases means more mutations.
i live in the united states, so im going to focus a little bit on that. right-wing ideology had gotten much more severe since 2003, and former president donald trump is, well, an idiot. he made false claims about the virus and his administration was focused on downplaying the situation rather than ramping up on medical supplies and telling the people what to do.
the election year had a lot to do with the pandemic, especially with america as a large world leader, and most right-wingers would die for their beloved trump. they refused to listen to anyone on the left-leaning.
we went into lockdown due to global unpreparedness, world leader unpreparedness, and general lack of knowledge.
checkpoint three: what would another lockdown need?
another lockdown would still need relevant political interference, which, hooray! is still happening in the united states. if you research the social aspects of any new diseases, right-wing folk tend to say they’re not falling for a “ploy to get biden back in office”. this includes not wearing masks, not quarantining, not getting vaccines, etc.
for a known virus to cause a pandemic, it would need to mutate so fast that it becomes extremely different from its parent. it would need to transmit human-to-human, have many asymptomatic cases, and still manage to cause severe infection in previously healthy people.
i’m not really counting on monkeypox 1b to cause a pandemic, but idk! things always happen :3 i am however counting on bird flu, as it clearly has less of a watchful eye over it, has never transmitted h2h before, and causes severe illness.

What Does the Beginning of Monkeypox Look Like?
Recently, there has been concern over monkeypox, an uncommon viral disease. Knowing the initial symptoms is essential for prompt action and management.
Let’s read more into the initial stages and explore what are the first signs of monkeypox.
What Does the Beginning of Monkeypox Look Like?
1. Fever and Headache
The sudden elevation of body temperature is frequently suggestive of the start of monkeypox. A common first sign is a fever, which is frequently followed by a chronic headache. Attention is necessary because these mild symptoms could first be confused for other frequent illnesses.
2. Fatigue and Muscle Aches
As the infection spreads, people may become fatigued and develop widespread muscle aches. It is possible to confuse these symptoms for the flu or other viral diseases. But the confluence of fever, headache, exhaustion, and aches in the muscles ought to cause concern and necessitate more research.
3. Swollen Lymph Nodes
In its early stages, swollen lymph nodes are a hallmark of monkeypox. These tiny, bean-shaped structures are essential to the immunological response of the body. The armpit, groin, and neck areas are where the swelling is most frequently visible.
4. Skin Lesions
The development of skin lesions is one of the unique monkeypox symptoms. Like chickenpox, these lesions usually begin as elevated bumps that develop into blisters. The body's parts may be affected by the lesions, which may be broad.
5. Respiratory Symptoms
In addition to respiratory symptoms like coughing and shortness of breath, it can also cause these. It is important to pay attention to these symptoms as they may indicate how the virus is affecting the respiratory system.
6. Eye Redness and Sensitivity to Light
Some people who have this may get increased light sensitivity and ocular redness. These ocular symptoms may add to the overall clinical picture and might be especially uncomfortable.
7. Gastrointestinal Issues
The early signs of monkeypox can include vomiting, nausea, and stomach pain. When paired with other distinctive indicators, these gastrointestinal symptoms add even more complexity to the diagnosis.

Monkeypox Prevention and Seeking Medical Attention
The health of the population depends on stopping this from spreading. Maintain proper hygiene by washing your hands frequently with soap and water. Steer clear of animals that might be viral carriers, particularly in areas where disease is common.
It goes without saying to get medical assistance as soon as possible if you or someone you know has any of the aforementioned symptoms. Make contact with your physician, let them know about your symptoms, and offer any pertinent travel or exposure history.
Early detection lowers the danger of transmission to others by enabling the implementation of suitable isolation measures.
Diagnostic Tests and Monkeypox Treatment
A thorough patient history, laboratory testing, and clinical evaluation are all used in the diagnosis of monkeypox. For confirmation, polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing, virus cultures, and blood tests are frequently used.
Although there are not many particular antiviral drugs for this disease, supportive care is essential. This could involve taking care of symptoms, avoiding bacterial infections that spread, and drinking enough water. Hospitalization may be required in extreme situations.
Public Health Measures
Coordinated public health measures are needed to stop the spread of the virus during monkeypox epidemics. This entails tracking down contacts, isolating afflicted people, and launching vaccination drives in areas where the illness is endemic.
To increase awareness of preventative actions and early symptom recognition, public health education is also important.
Is Monkeypox Curable?
Yes, although monkeypox is a dangerous sickness, it is usually a self-limiting disease, meaning that it often resolves without the need for special treatment. The majority of this disease victim recovers completely in a few weeks. Yet the disease's severity might vary, and in certain situations, medical attention can be required.
Monkeypox cannot be specifically treated with antivirals; nevertheless, supportive care can be given, such as symptom and consequence management.
Early Detection for Timely Treatment
Understanding the initial indications of monkeypox is essential for prompt detection and suitable medical attention. The key is to identify the combination of fever, headache, exhaustion, muscular aches, swollen lymph nodes, skin lesions, respiratory symptoms, eye redness, and gastrointestinal problems, even if these symptoms may match those of other prevalent illnesses.
For an accurate diagnosis and course of treatment, it is imperative that you or someone you know get medical help as soon as possible if you notice these symptoms. Recall that early identification can have a big impact on how cases of monkeypox turn out. Remain educated and watchful.

anyways im radicalized now
aeon ginsberg
I’m not funding a war if I pretend the money in my taxes are only going toward the roads that are actively collapsing.
Did you hear about the soldiers who stole all of those tractors? Did you hear the company that makes those tractors, founded in a country not “fighting” in the war, was able to brick the tractors before they were at all functional?
There are in-built kill switches in our devices.
Think about your debts and how much they weigh.
US company sends a shipment of bricks equal to the weight of the hard drives they develop to Singapore because they can get away with it.
Do you think if the bulldozer used to build the Killdozer was an American make it would have been stopped before it was rendered inert too? Maybe the make made the autonomy possible.
I’m not funding a war, I’m in one.
There’s no recourse to repair what we own within legality. Amazon acquires OneMedical healthcare, Amazon sells medical information to the police. It hasn’t happened yet but the Ring Doorbells send footage to the police without the consent and the knowledge of the “owners,” and who makes the doorbells?
User on twitter finds out the company that they got their printer from can disable its functionality from afar because their debit card had expired. A friend can have their CPAP machine forcibly taken away from them if they aren’t using it “enough.” John Deere pioneered the addition of remote kill switches being installed in technology and now the idea of one being installed into a pacemaker is not
so far off.
Rendering a piece of technology inert is called “bricking” it. Are you excited to talk to a friend and because of the status of their debts a brick is weighed into their body?
Think about what you owe and how much it weighs, think about what you give away and where it goes, think about how much choice you really have,
if you have choice at all. Marvin Heemeyer’s choices were diminished until there was nothing left but to build Killdozer but even so he was allowed to build it without the only options he had left becoming bricks.
It’s called a siege when you decide to wait for your enemy to run out of resources. It’s called “scorched earth” to destroy anything that might be useful to whomever you’re fighting against. Who was the first brick at Stonewall? We got past Act Up and now you can’t get a monkeypox vaccine unless you can prove you’re a gay man who has sex with other men.
Did you know you can be arrested for sodomy still? Did you know some John Deere tractors only work if the same farmer is buying Monsanto approved seed?
Marvin Heemeyer said “It is interesting to observe that I was never caught.” Maybe we will get a justified right to repair, maybe the earth will die before then. Scorched Earth.
We’re in an overwhelming heat wave, we’re in the coldest summer of the rest of our lives. They don’t make the tools we need to become autonomous anymore because they can ship us our weight in debts instead.
What happens when we learn that we can’t use our refrigerators because we’re late on rent? What are you going to do if you’re trying to shoot yourself in the head and the gun won’t go off because your sold healthcare data informed the manufacturer that because of severe depression
the guns you own will become bricked?
What are you going to do when you can’t do anything else but lower the DIY armour over the caddy of your killdozer, only to find that it’s been rendered a series of bricks?
“It is interesting to observe that I was never caught ... somehow their vision was clouded”

My local news had a reminder today — get your mpox vaccines before Pride. San Francisco Public Health is running vaccine clinics, and I’d bet that if you live in an area with a large gay population, your public health department is too.

part of me always thought it would be somehow more horrific to be harassed by thousands of internet strangers, let alone for saying what you've seen or for speaking about your convictions, but unfortunately now that i'm here yet again i'm blursed with the knowledge that any of them would immediately buckle under the same pressure, because their convictions evaporate hourly. and anyway you can essentially dispose of them with an API script and settings adjustment. i suppose replies and anon will be back soon, for those of you who know how to behave without being forced.
did any of them bother to review the last time somebody tried to pull this shit? if it works, if shouting someone down aggressively enough is what makes your truth correct, then why am i still here talking about it? what was the effort for? for every prediction i made about monkeypox, i was not far off. once again it hinges on a fundamental misinterpretation of the scale of the numbers at hand. six more preventable deaths are six great tragedies to me, do you have no soul or conscience? every time, it's objections to phrasing, or outright refusal to acknowledge or understand what i said. i suppose they must think six preventable deaths could not have been them, as if the indiscriminate violence of capital isn't demonstrated every day. what a privilege to be on the second-lowest rung of a ladder to hell, spitting down.
and despite what the cockroaches might think, crawling out of the woodwork to dredge this up like it's some kind of gotcha, it remains true that monkeypox would have been eradicable if we had simply kept up with smallpox vaccinations after smallpox was gone -- a thing there was admittedly not much evident purpose in doing, until the dual effectiveness of the vaccine became clear -- but if that's the case, then why did we need bruce ivins' anthrax false flag? to incept the strategic national stockpile, occupy the world's smallpox vaccine production capability, for profit? for a set of warehouses full of controlled-substance vaccines that will expire before they're ever used, despite the expedience of giving them to someone else instead? not to mention, again, the low cost. but i suppose now someone can say this beggars belief, and a conspiracy could logistically never be that detailed or complex, because they won't take the time to understand the argument i am making is not conspiracy but the automatic logistics of capital, which operate towards profit and self-preservation without intent or design.
i wanted to believe, too, that any of them would act better than the worst monsters did during WWII, or the aids epidemic, but some have taken it upon themselves to show me, multiple times, that is not the case. you'd execute the rosenbergs too. you'd bark like a dog just as nearly everyone did then, if someone questions the power you rely on to survive, instead of playing idpol games, or speaking politic. i certainly haven't been the first to say that it was a career-killing move to doubt the motive to war the last time we waged it. but i suppose now somebody will point out that i have no credibility, and no surplus of good will, without considering whether i want it from people who would act like that.

i think i would respect radfems a lot more if they didn't kneejerk to transphobia and misandry constantly. but then transphobia and misandry is like their entire MO so i guess there's no way for me to respect radfems.
oh and by the way you can 10000% be a feminist and still respect trans people and still accept that men are people who can be oppressed just as much & more than all the white 20something British/American radfem girlies on here. please just understand that the patriarchy benefits from keeping you feeling helpless and scared and victimised and making other women feel scared and helpless and victimised. and your learned helplessness schtick is getting so fucking boring. ranting about trans people on tumblr makes the world better for oppressed women how exactly? yeah it really doesn't, not even a little bit so maybe go work in a soup kitchen and contribute to society in meaningful ways and stop being on the same side as the most misogynistic right wing men in existence just cus they 🙃 also happen to hate trans people 🙃
If they go after trans people, you do know that all the cis lesbians and unruly women are next, right? Trans people are quite literally standing between racist sexist lawmakers and YOU. you think they would have dared to touch Roe v Wade if transphobia hadn't popularised misogynistic talking points? the idea that women are defined by their vaginas and need to stay within their female roles no matter how much it hurts? the idea that lawmakers can define what a woman is, and therefore can police women's bodies? the idea that womanhood is immutable - as well as the idea that abortion and pregnancies are women's issues only?
they look at you and go "well it seems to be popular now to hate the transes, good! maybe they'll be too distracted to notice us taking their rights away. oh you're saying they hate the regular gays too*? most excellent! they will all fall like dominoes! women belong in the kitchen, they shouldn't be having thoughts at all!"
This is what the lawmakers that you're allying yourself with think about you, and you still support them?
*transphobes are usually homophobic too, i.e. "LGB" alliance, example: https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/5050/lgb-alliance-gay-venues-pride-monkeypox-twitter/
anyway when was the last time you called your MP or representative about FGM? about Iran? about Roe v Wade? Next time you want to reblog a reachy post about how all trans people are evil and we need to drop the T, do literally any of the above first. Go work in a women's shelter and meet trans women who are deeply traumatised, fleeing domestic violence, who will be let into most shelters without question (and those who would turn them away would turn away cis gays or lesbians too, eg salvation army), and maybe then you'll see that trans women are no more dangerous than the average cis woman and the same amount of vulnerable, if not more so.
trans exclusion is actually very likely to backfire and hurt you too. They'll use trans people as guinea pigs to see how much rights they can take away from a minority group without people caring; and then they'll turn to the cis gays, the racial and religious minorities, the disabled, and the WOMEN.
protecting trans people is very feminist and it is entirely and completely in your own interests to support us. i prommy you can still be a feminist, a lesbian even!
just put your money where your mouth is and actually support women in legitimate, tangible ways. raging against trans people isn't helping women one bit. call your representative. write to your mp. talk about iran or how worried you are about misogynistic talking points becoming much more prominent again. become a fgm activist or help sign up marginalised women to vote. hand out food parcels or help in a shelter or community garden. put your money where your mouth is.
or are you going to use all your energy on debating "men" and denying their reality? are you going to spend all your time thinking about men? foaming at the mouth thinking about other people's genitals (which you have not been invited to see or think about)? how is that going to help, exactly?
or is it just that you don't have enough compassion to think about other women and their actual, real life needs? just not enough time to help actual women, cus you're too busy dunking on trans people online?
misogyny is a real problem with real life impact and this is NOT caused by trans people. by focusing on trans people, you are doing women and feminism a huge disservice.
Just. Radfems, you really gotta rethink your priorities. Don't buy into fearmongering. Support women instead.
#and that means support women!!!#including the lesbians who suck dick!!!#I'm a lesbian n i like dick. in a very lesbian way#u don't have to like dick or date trans ppl hun#its just on you to communicate that with any future and potential dates :) cus you can't tell who's trans#radical feminism#tired wednesday morning rant after spotting a terf in the notes

Here's What Visiting A Sex Club Is Really Like
If sex clubs had frequent flier miles, I would have a free flight by now.
Ashley Cobb
Aug. 18, 2022 04:00PM EST
If sex clubs had frequent flier miles, I would have earned a free visit by now. To say I’ve gone to my fair share of sex clubs would be an understatement. I’ve not been to many since the pandemic, but before COVID, I would go pretty often. Sex clubs for me are a place to explore my inner freak with whatever lover I have at the time. I don’t have a dungeon in my house, but the sex club up the street does. I visited my first club in 2018. I was both nervous and excited. They were something I was always curious about but not sure how to find. So when a friend of a friend asked me to go with her to one that she found and it was, surprisingly, located just thirty minutes away, I was all in.
This was a “first” for both of us. We were clueless. Even though I had an idea of what a sex club was from watching Eyes WideShut and Real Sex, I still had questions. What kind of sex goes on there? What type of people frequent this club? Will someone I know recognize me? These and a million more questions were running through my mind. I’d envisioned sex clubs to be a big orgy fest with sex everywhere. In reality, it’s just a bar where people also fuck.
While COVID and monkeypox are most definitely a thing, if you are considering going to a sex club in the distant future, here are some things to keep in mind.
Look before you try.
To help me and my friend prepare for our wild night of sex clubbing, I visited the club's website. This is a practice I recommend to all newbies because on it they list the dress code, cost of admission, and the theme of the night. Sex clubs understand that people have questions and they want you to be as prepared as possible when visiting their establishment. Checking out a club’s website is a great way to get a sneak peek into the experience and figure out general information regarding what the club has to offer, its rules, etc.
Dress the part.
The club we attended had a sexy lingerie theme. Luckily for me, I already had a few pieces of sexy negligee in the closet so there was no need to buy anything. I decided to go with something that was cute yet simple. I didn’t want to do too much or be too flamboyant on my first visit. I wanted to blend in while being comfortable. Nothing is worse than thinking you’re cute but having to adjust straps and hooks all night.
It’s important to note that you can’t wear lingerie to the club. You have to bring a "main outfit" and change into sexy lingerie once inside. My main outfit consisted of a cute “City Girls” dress—you know the kind: short, tight with my titties sitting right. Your main outfit should be an outfit you’d wear to a regular club or bar. Pick something exciting yet sexy. Just like in regular clubs, first impressions matter.
Feel your way through.
My friend and I made sure to get there early! We wanted to allow ourselves plenty of time to get acclimated. For a newbie, going to a sex club can be a bit of sensory overload. The surprise isn’t so much about all the other couples or singles, but about the reality of the atmosphere compared to what your imagination conjured up. Show up early, and chat with the bartenders or hosts to get a feel for what the place is like. The club we went to gave us a tour, which was extremely helpful. It gave us an opportunity to ask questions and come up with a plan of action. I made mental notes of all the things I did and didn’t want to try.
It's different strokes for different folks.
That night, I had zero sex. I just watched and took it all in. At a sex club, you can do as much or as little as you like. It’s a common misconception that you have to have sex. In the words of my momma, the only two things I have to do in this life are “stay Black and die.” This same sentiment holds true when attending sex clubs. In fact, some people never engage in sex at these establishments. Some people enjoy the voyeurism thrill of watching people have sex, while exhibitionists enjoy having sex in front of others. There are also people who are a mixture of the two.
The important thing to remember is that you control what happens, no one will force you to do anything you don’t want to do. Oh yeah, and bring your own shit, too! Even though I didn't engage with anyone on my first visit, I was prepared just in case. You won’t have to get ready if you stay ready, period! I had a bag packed with sex toys, condoms, and lube. Most sex clubs have condoms on deck but I still like bringing my own.
After people-watching and mingling for hours, my friend and I called it a night around 2 a.m. I went back several times after that without her and each time was better than the time before. Guess you can say I was hooked.
Sex clubs are truly what you make them. I think everybody should visit a sex club at least once because they truly have something for everyone who is willing to get out of their comfort zone. But as always, if you do wish to partake, stay safe out here.

Another Case Of MPox: India Is Preparing For Future Outbreaks! What You Need To Know?
Kerala is on high alert following the emergence of MPOX also known as Monkeypox cases. A 38-year-old man in Kerala, who had returned from the UAE, tested positive for mpox. This case marks the second reported incident in Malappuram, Kerala. Upon return, he showed symptoms such as fever, rash, and body aches. After hospitalisation, his samples tested positive for Mpox at the National Institute of Virology in Alappuzha.
The state's health authorities swiftly activated protocols to isolate the patient and trace his contacts. Medical teams have been monitoring those exposed, emphasising the importance of early detection. The Kerala health department is following global guidelines and WHO standards, which suggest vigilance in identifying symptoms like fever, swollen lymph nodes, and characteristic rashes.

Mpox: What You Need to Know About the Vaccine in 2024
What is Mpox?
Mpox (formerly known as monkeypox) is becoming a significant concern globally. You may be feeling uneasy about whether you need to protect yourself from the virus, especially with the rapid changes in vaccination guidelines. Are you unsure if the mpox vaccine is right for you in 2024? As vaccination efforts target various groups, it’s crucial to understand the facts. Should non-sexual individuals or healthcare professionals receive the vaccine? Let’s clarify the situation and examine the current recommendations, risk factors, and important details about the vaccine this year.
Why is the Mpox Vaccine Important?
The mpox vaccine plays a critical role in controlling outbreaks and preventing the further spread of the virus. The vaccine boosts your immune response to mpox. This makes it much less likely that you will experience severe symptoms if exposed to the virus. In 2024, health officials focused on high-risk groups and considered the changing dynamics of the virus.
Now that we understand what mpox is, let’s dive into who should consider getting the vaccine.
Who Should Get the Mpox Vaccine in 2024?
As of 2024, health authorities primarily recommended vaccinations against mpox for individuals in high-risk categories. While the virus can affect anyone, there are specific groups with a higher likelihood of exposure and serious infection. Understanding your risk level is key to deciding if you need the vaccine.
1. Doctors and Healthcare Workers
One of the most commonly asked questions is, “Do doctors get the mpox vaccine in 2024?” The answer depends largely on the nature of their work. Healthcare workers are at high risk of coming into contact with infectious diseases, especially those who work closely with skin or treat patients with viral infections.
Individuals handling mpox cases or those identified as high-risk should follow particular guidelines. Doctors are a priority group for vaccination because they are on the front lines, making them more susceptible to contracting and spreading the virus. The CDC and WHO have emphasized that even if healthcare workers are not in frequent contact with these patients, they should still evaluate their risk factors, particularly if their job involves exposure to bodily fluids.
2. Non-Sexual Individuals: Should You Get Vaccinated?
Another critical question is, “Should a non-sexual person receive the mpox vaccine in 2024?” While close contact transmission occurs, it is particularly prevalent within sexual networks and associated with the virus, but the virus does not only spread through sexual transmission. People can spread mpox by sharing personal items like towels, bedding, or clothing. They can also spread it through close physical contact, including respiratory droplets.
For non-sexual individuals, the risk may seem lower compared to those who are sexually active or frequently exposed to high-contact environments. For instance:
If you live with someone at high risk, such as a healthcare worker or an immunocompromised person, getting the vaccine adds a layer of protection.
If your job involves handling materials or working in environments of outbreak, consider getting vaccinated.
For frequent travelers, in areas with higher mumps infection rates. For individuals and in these regions, getting is necessary.
Vaccination decisions are complex for non-sexual individuals. Experts advise assessing personal risk and potential exposure to make an informed choice.
How Does the Mpox Vaccine Work?
The mpox vaccine uses a weakened virus to stimulate the body’s immune system, enabling it to recognize and fight off the mpox virus if exposed. The most common mpox vaccine used is the JYNNEOS vaccine, which also protects against smallpox, due to the similarities between the two viruses.
JYNNEOS is a two-dose vaccine administered four weeks apart, ensuring that recipients have robust immunity. Most people can tolerate the vaccine well. Mild side effects, such as soreness at the injection site or a low-grade fever, may occur.
Why is the Vaccine Especially Important in 2024?
The 2024 guidelines for the mpox vaccine reflect a growing understanding of how the virus spreads and who is most at risk. Now, public health experts recognize that broader vaccination efforts may be necessary. Experts also advise that immunity from the vaccine may wane over time, leading to the possibility of booster shots in the coming years.
Addressing Common Concerns
1. Is the Vaccine Safe for Everyone?
The mpox vaccine is considered safe for most people, including individuals with weakened immune systems. However, it’s important to consult your healthcare provider if you have a history of severe allergies or adverse reactions to vaccines.
2. Does Vaccine Prevent All Mpox Cases?
No vaccine provides 100% protections, but the vaccine significantly reduces the risk of severe illness and hospitalization. Vaccinated people can still contact mpox. However, their symptoms are likely to be milder and less prolonged compared to those who are not vaccinated.
3. How Long Does the Vaccine Provide Protection?
Current data suggests that the vaccine provides protection for several years. However, as research continues, recommendations may shift towards booster doses, especially for those in high-risk categories.
Mpox and Public Perception
Since the mpox outbreak, concerns have arisen about who is eligible for the vaccine. Many people have expressed their concerns about the mpox vaccine recipients. They fear they may not fit the typical “at-risk” profile. It’s crucial to dispel myths around mpox. The virus is not exclusive to any one group, and anyone in close contact with an infected individual can catch it. Vaccination is not limited to sexually active individuals or healthcare workers. Everyone should assess their own exposure risks.
The 2024 vaccination strategy takes into account the shifting dynamics of the virus, and public health bodies are working hard to ensure that those who need it most can access the vaccine. Non-sexual individuals may not seem like an immediate priority for vaccination. However, they can still find value in getting vaccinated if certain circumstances warrant it.
Conclusion:
In 2024, the mpox vaccine continues to be a vital tool in curbing the spread of this virus. Whether you’re a doctor, healthcare worker, or simply trying to navigate your risk as a non-sexual person, it’s essential to stay informed. Doctors and healthcare workers are urged to get vaccinated, given their high exposure to potential infections. Non-sexual individuals should weigh their personal exposure risk, living situation, and professional environment to determine if vaccination is necessary.
The mpox vaccine is a critical measure to prevent outbreaks and protect the most vulnerable. As we move further into 2024, stay updated on the latest guidelines and make sure to consult your healthcare provider to make the best decision for your health.
