CLARKE GRIFFIN — being in a secret relationship would include...
fluff / minor angst
Tumblr media
pairing: clarke griffin x reader, reader x raven (sibling like relationship)
request: "where practically reader is raven’s sibling/sister and reader has a secret relationship wth clarke as to prevent like more dangers. one day raven catches clarke and reader cuddling and how it would play out since raven is older than reader and i believe that she’d be protective of her/them considering it’s her younger sibling/sister" from @nickeverdeen
Tumblr media
you should have told raven, before she found out like this
you and clarke hadn't been together for very long, only since landing on earth
growing up, you and raven had always been close
she was only two years older than you, but she was like an older sister
when you were arrested, raven was heartbroken
she didn't want you to die..
but of course that never happened
you were sent to earth, where you met clarke
you quickly befriended the girl, and was a great help in setting up communications
and when raven landed, you were just over the moon
despite the threat of the grounders
even though clarke and raven didn't get on at first, you still remained close with them both
raven was wary of clarke because of finn
and clarke just felt guilty
but when clarke was hurting, and you were the one to hold her as she cried, she couldn't help but fall for you.
she knew it was wrong, so she kept it a secret
it was only on one peaceful night at arkadia that she had confessed her feelings
you had been drinking, the both of you
and it was the way that your smile lit up the room, and the way your hair shone in the lights
she just let it slip
"i love you y/n"
that sobered you up slightly
"come on princess, let's get you to bed."
you helped move her to her room, but when you turned to leave she grabbed your wrist and pulled you to her
"i do, i love you" she whispered
then she kissed you
and when you kissed back, it was the happiest moment of her life
clarke pulled you into bed with her, and she fell asleep in your arms.
the next morning, when the two of you were fully sober, you had a proper talk
you confessed to loving her too
but you both agreed that it would be better to keep it from raven, you didn't want to cause more problems
and neither of you were really prepared to go public with it, considering clarke's long list of enemies
this worked out well for a couple weeks
you would only kiss and cuddle in private, in your own rooms/tents
and you would just act like normal friends in public
minus the longing gazes from across the room
raven didn't suspect a thing
but one morning, after clarke had spent the night with you and you had fallen asleep cuddling, raven came calling
in her haste she forgot to shout your name, entering your space without thinking as she had done so many times before
however, the sight that she was greeted with...
you and clarke, naked but covered by the blanket, cuddling.
"y/n? clarke?"
bless her she was so confused
she didn't want to think that her younger sister would do something so stupid
clarke of all people?
raven knew it was only a matter of time before clarke would hurt you...
"uh, maybe i should leave? clarke uttered sheepishly, already gathering her clothes
raven threw a shirt at you, not even looking at clarke
once the blonde had left, raven started pacing in front of the bed that you sat on, now dressed
"look raven-"
"no! no y/n what the hell?" raven scolded you, "how could you keep this from me? you know how i feel about her!"
"exactly, thats why i didn't tell you. i'm sorry raven but we knew you wouldn't approve, and we weren't really ready to go public yet either."
raven was silent for an unnerving amount of time before she finally spoke
"how- how long have you been together?"
raven didn't look as angry anymore, just disappointed that you hadn't told her
"a few weeks.."
raven shook her head and and turned from you, clearly exasperated
"if she hurts you, i will kill her."
with that, the mechanic left you, and even if that wasn't complete approval, it was something
you knew you would have to make it up to her, but that would come in time. raven could never stay mad at you for long
when you told clarke she was overjoyed
but slightly nervous at the threat
of course she had no intentions of harming you, she loved you too much.

Eddie wakes up around 8am… really, thats just when he stops tossing and turning and forces himself out of the bed. He gets ready as quietly as possible and sneaks out the front door without waking Wayne in the process. He pulls out of the trailer park at just a quarter after 8, heading right to the Wheeler's place for a nice chat with the smartest person he knows.
Karen Wheeler opens the door with her hair still in rollers and her bright pink robe on, “Eddie… you’re here early?”
“I know, I’m sorry, Mrs. Wheeler,” Eddie apologizes. “Would Nancy happen to be awake yet? I need her help with something.”
Karen nods, “She just finished her breakfast, hold on,” she turns away from him and yells into the house, “Nancy!”
“Yeah?” She peaks around the corner and sees Eddie at the door. “Hey, what’s wrong?” She asks because she knows him pretty well by now, he wouldn’t be at her door, dressed and aware of his surroundings at this time of day if something wasn’t wrong.
“I uh, I need help with something at the library… at least, I think it’s at the library, I really don’t know what I’m doing… I just need your help, please?” he hates to admit it out loud.
“Yeah, come in and I’ll just get changed and then we can go?” Nancy offers and Karen ushers him inside.
“Thanks, really, it’s kind of hard to explain…”
“I’ll be down in a sec, save it for the ride over,” she doesn’t want him to worry about her parents overhearing them and then she takes off, up the stairs.
“Did you eat? I can make you something?” Karen immediately offers, not letting a single moment of silence pass.
He shakes his head, “I’m good, thanks, Mrs. Wheeler.”
“Oh, really it’s no problem on my end, I keep making the normal amount of food for breakfast but Mike isn’t ever here now that the Byers are back in town, so I always have extra,” she explains, making Eddie follow her into the kitchen.
“In that case… Wayne has always called me a human garbage can, I always eat all the leftovers.”
“See, you’re helping me out, not putting me out,” Karen can’t help but laugh.
She takes a plate down from the cupboard and dumps the remaining scrambled eggs from the frying pan on it. She gives him the last 3 pieces of bacon and sets the plate down in front of him. “Do you want toast? Orange juice?”
“This is more than enough, thank you,” he doesn’t want to impose anymore, he just takes the fork she gave him and digs in.
He doesn’t mean to scarf it all down so fast, he just had no idea when Nancy would be back down and he’d hate to make her wait when this is his idea in the first place. He’s been thinking over the plan all night, he’s figured out how to let Wayne know how much he loves him and needs him and Nancy’s the only person he can ask for advice about legal documents.
Nancy comes running back down the stairs just as he’s putting his fork down on the placemat, “hey, you ready?”
“Yeah, yeah I’m good,” he covers his mouth to talk and finishes his last bite and then he stands. “Thank you so much, again, Mrs. Wheeler, really.”
“You’re welcome, you guys have fun, let me know if you won’t be back for dinner,” she turns to Nancy at the end, “I love you.”
“Love you, too,” Nancy gives her a smile and a wave, “see ya!”
She doesn’t ask what’s up until they’re both in the van, “Please don’t tell me something bad is happening in the town again… I can’t do two in the same calendar year.”
Eddie sighs, “No, no… it’s not a thing like that. Um, you know Matilda, the Roald Dahl book? She gets adopted by Miss Honey at the end and it doesn’t matter if it was a real adoption or not because Miss Honey loved her more than any blood relative could’ve? Like, Miss Honey was her family. Period. End of discussion?”
Nancy nods along, “yeah?”
“She still wanted to make it real. She still wanted Miss Honey to be her mom on paper even though she was her mom in her heart… and she got the adoption papers from the library… where would I get them?”
“I think you get them at the courthouse?” Nancy offered, not pushing him with questions or trying to change his mind. She simply smiled and put on her seatbelt.
“To the courthouse we go…”
Wayne knocks on her door just a little after 11 am, she didn’t expect him to come all the way up to her apartment but he did. She opens the door with a big smile, “Hey, Dad, I was just about to come down and wait for you…”
“I wanted to check the place out,” he says, peaking over her shoulder to get a good look… just like she did yesterday with Eddie.
“Come in,” she extends her arm out and moves out of the way. “It’s not much but it’ll work for a while… uh, it was partially furnished, so I have a bed and a couch and some pots and pans and things… and I went to the grocery store yesterday morning before I went to the trailer,” She follows him around while she talks, watching him take a look at everything.
“It’s a lot nicer than it used to be,” Wayne compliments, his lips pursed together as he nods.
“You’ve been in here before?”
“Yeah… Eddie’s mom rented this unit for a while, it was only a short walk to the hospital—
“Oh my god, it all makes sense now…”
“What does?”
“He got snarky when you told him where I lived and then he didn’t drive me home last night. Steve did,” she explains. “And then when he dropped me off, Steve said if I ever needed a ride anywhere and you’re not available, I should call him and not Eddie… I thought maybe it was just him being a flirt like you said, but then it felt a lot more like Eddie was avoiding this place… and like Steve was protecting him.”
Wayne gives her a simple nod, “Yeah… his mom basically died in here.”
“In here?” She points to the floor and her eyes widen in fear.
“She technically took her last breath in the hospital but, yeah,” he doesn’t know how to really say it. “She faded away to nothing here, he was only 8 when she got sick, 12 when she died. It’s been hard on him.”
She feels terrible, “I can’t imagine losing my mom when I was 12, it’s hard enough now…”
“What do you mean?”
“It’s just hard being away from her,” she shrugs it off. She doesn’t want to get into it all right now. She really can’t get into it now or she’ll ruin the whole day for herself with her tears. She still has some questions to ask and opinions to learn… She can’t lose him once he knows, too.
“You’re growing up, it’s hard,” he at least tries to sympathize. “But you seem good here, you call me if anything breaks or they give you a hard time, okay?”
“Okay, Dad,” she gives him the sweetest smile, she loves that she gets to call him that. That it’s real. He is her dad. “Uh, while I’ve got you here, I made something for you…”
“Oh, why?” He’s a bit taken aback, he didn’t expect this.
He follows her into the little kitchen and thats where he sees it. On the counter, she has a present waiting to be opened by him. She knew she wanted to give it to him today or tomorrow and this was the perfect chance. She gets him to sit at the table with her and she places the neatly wrapped gift in front of him.
“Even though Father's Day is technically tomorrow, I wanted to give you this… and I needed to do it here and not in front of Eddie 'cause he’s having a hard time with all this.”
“Is he?” Wayne instantly worries.
“Yeah… I mean, now that I know his mom died I can see why. All he has left is you,” she finds it incredibly easy to sympathize. “It’s only natural to panic about sharing your only parent, just most people go through it when they’re toddlers.”
“He wasn’t home this morning but I wanted to make sure he has dinner with us tonight, for this reason. I can’t have him thinking I like you more than him and vice versa. I love you equally,” he assures her. Staring her down with those Munson eyes she’s only seen in the mirror for 19 years. “You’re both my kids.”
Her eyes well with tears, “I love you, too… open it up.”
“Okay,” he has to look away or he’ll cry too. He peels the brown wrapping paper gently, uncovering a scrapbook. “Oh, wow.”
“When I was getting ready to leave, I went through all my photos and realized mom had two of everything… I really wanted you to see what I was like as a kid,” she explains, watching him flip from page to page, completely silent.
He runs his finger over some of the pictures, taking in her features and watching her change over 18 years in just a few pages. He looks sad, realizing he missed out on so much of her life… and so much of it looks lonesome. She’s alone in most of her photos, her eyes have dark rings around them and she hasn’t smiled much past 8 years old.
“What happened?”
“What do you mean?” She leans over to see what photo he’s on, “Nothing happened there?”
“I know this look, this is the look of a kid going through hell… Eddie looked the same when I took him in,” he taps the page and stares her down, “Did they hurt you?”
She shakes her head, “Oh no, god, no! I just got bullied at school, I didn’t have good friends, it was normal at home… for the most part. They barely talked to me, they didn’t have the time to hurt me.”
“That doesn’t make me feel better,” Wayne’s heart is clearly broken. “Not only did I miss out on your life, I couldn’t save you from the hard parts of it…”
“No, but you saved Eddie and now Eddie is saving me,” Roxy shrugs, lips pressed together tightly, she didn’t know how much she wanted to tell him… it’s not really something a dad wants to hear.
“How?” He doesn’t get it, he’s barely seen them interact.
“I had this whole plan,” she says, taking a seat across from him at the table. “I’ve been saving my money for years thinking I’d look all through the entire state of Indiana for you… I was going to do everything to find my dad and then 3 months before I graduated, 3 months before I was going to run away to find you, my real last name is all over the news… if that didn’t happen to him, then I wouldn’t be here yet. I wouldn’t have you, yet,” Roxy explains, so sure of it.
“That was the worst week of my life,” Wayne can't even begin to explain how awful it was. “I walked into my own home to find a dead girl I didn’t know and Eddie was no where to be found… and I couldn’t find him for a week. And when I did find him, he was in the hospital with stab wounds that looked more like something took a bite out of him. It was awful.”
“I’m so sorry,” she reaches out for his hand across the table and takes it. “I can’t imagine what that’s like.”
“If you’re the outcome, then it was well worth it… at least on my end, that pain paid off for me,” he gives her a small smile. “But I don’t expect Eddie to feel the same. ‘Cause nothings been the same since then. We lost most of his things in the earthquake, we’ve started fresh in the trailer and he’s barely ever home now that he knows Steve and Robin… and I get it, he went to hell and back with them, no wonder he finds it so easy to talk to them about it… I just wish he’d talk to me on his bad nights.”
“Tell him that,” she can’t stress that enough. “I’m sure he knows but tell him anyway… Personally, I don’t think there’s any such thing as too much love.”
“I love you,” he says directly to her for the first time, staring deep into her brown eyes… realizing how they’re a lot lighter than Eddie’s. Almost hazel. And then he gives her hand another squeeze. “I love you a lot.”
“I love you, too,” she laughs as the tears stream down her cheeks, “Happy Father's Day.”
He laughs then too, a single tear slips out and he wipes it off his face with his free hand, “Happy Father's Day to you too… say, you got a camera around here?”
She nods, “I do, why, did you want to take a photo?”
“We might as well put one in here together, and, if you want, maybe we can take one all together tonight?” He suggests, wanting to make sure Eddie felt included later too.
“That sounds like a great idea.”
When Eddie comes back home he stops dead in his tracks when he smells it… Wayne's famous brisket.
“There he is!” Wayne cheers and walks over to him, “Whatcha got there?” He notices the yellow envelope in his hand just as he goes to hug him.
“Oh, some job applications,” he lies, Wayne was on him about getting something to do during the days, so it’s believable for now.
“Good, good,” he places his hands on Eddie's shoulders and brings him into a hug. “Please tell me you can stay for dinner?”
Eddie nods, “Yeah, I can… I’m not going to see Steve tonight.”
Wayne's brows furrow and he’s clearly shocked. “At all?”
He shakes his head, still holding Wayne tight. It’s been a while since they had a good hug. “Nah, I think I need a night with you… and Rox, too I guess?”
Wayne pulls back first, “She’s here,” he points back to her and she gives him a smile and a wave, “She’s been helping me in the kitchen.”
“He’s a great teacher,” Roxy adds. “I hear this Mac and cheese is your favourite?”
“Oh, fuck yes!” He celebrates, this is the best thing to happen to him in a few days. “What’s the occasion?”
“It’s my first Father's Day with both my kids,” Wayne announces, so, so proud of himself.
Eddie loves to see the smile on his face, he can’t help but smile back, “So are we doing gifts tonight, or?”
“I gave him mine already,” Roxy is honest, and from the look on her face she feels a little scared for his reaction.
“So, I can give mine tonight like normal?” Eddie turns back to Wayne, “I’d really like to keep this as normal as possible.”
“We want the same thing… I love you, kid,” Wayne reaches back out for him and rubs his shoulder. “I’m sorry I’ve been so busy these last few months, I don’t want you to think I’m replacing you.”
“I know you’re not,” Eddie gives him a solemn smile. “But you know me, you know I’m weird with change. This was the cherry on top of the shit show that has been my life lately… I hate myself a little for reacting like a two-year-old with a new sister on the way, but I can’t help it. I’m not good with this shit.”
“Not much is changing,” Wayne assures him.
“I want to continue this at dinner…” Eddie admits, “I had a whole speech planned out and a certain way I wanted to say all this, can I just go to my room for a bit?”
“Sure, yeah,” Wayne gives in, knowing how Eddie reacts when things aren’t going according to his plan. He gets testy and anxious.
Eddie hurries off to his room and closes the door, taking the documents out of the manilla folder and grabbing his dnd book to use as a hard surface. He wanted to sign the papers before he presented them to Wayne… the adoption process is a lot simpler when it’s an adult being adopted, all they require is Eddie and Wayne’s signatures on the petition and then the court would finalize it, pending a short court appearance with lots of questions. They just wanted to make sure creeps weren’t adopting their girlfriends and greedy assholes didn’t steal money from vulnerable, yet rich, elderly people.
Eddie and Wayne were definitely neither of those things. He knew it would be granted to him, he knew Wayne would be his dad in a matter of weeks… it was all going to be okay.
Eddie got two copies of the adoption papers, too, because if this was his way of evening the playing field, Roxy deserved the chance to be Wayne’s kid on paper too. Thats only if she wasn’t already, he has a feeling that if she knew her dad’s name her whole life then it’s most likely on her birth certificate. It’s been real for her whole life.
He has a moment to change and listen to a few songs so he can calm down, his mind is racing with the speech he wants to give and it keeps changing the more he thinks about it. He has so much he wants to say, so much he wants to thank Wayne for… he barely even knows where to start.
He folds the pages up and puts them in his back pocket when he’s called out for dinner. Wayne’s famous brisket over Mac and cheese was his favourite meal in the world, he gets it maybe 3 times a year, and it was really special. And so, so delicious.
Roxy talks up a storm about how cool Wayne's stories are, Eddie’s heard them all before but she’s right, they are cool. Wayne grew up in Florida, his mom comes from the large Jewish population there and his dad was from Louisiana meaning there were a lot of Cajun spices in this once-traditional Jewish brisket.
Eddie takes his last bites and sets his fork down on the plate gently, he knows he has to start now, it’s just a little scary. “I um, I just wanted to say I’m sorry—
“You have nothing to be sorry for,” Roxy cuts him off, thinking this is about her again.
“No, I do… I got all pissy thinking you were stealing my dad from me when I’ve barely been home these last few months,” Eddie admits. “It’s been hard dealing with it all and— and you know what? Fuck it. I might as well be honest with both of you now that I know this is a permanent thing… basically, I got out of all that shit in March and all I wanted was to make Steve love me back, I never even thanked you for all the searching you did and the time you spent with me in the police station and in the hospital. I’ve never thanked you for anything, my whole life, actually.”
“You don’t need to,” Wayne waves it off, he never did this for a thank you. He did it cause Eddie deserved a normal childhood. He did it because he's always loved him.
“But I want to,” Eddie reaches into his back pocket and puts the pages down on the table. “You’ve been the best dad I could’ve ever asked for… but you’re not my dad and I think thats why I got so upset yesterday. You can call us both your kids, sure, but if you sign this then you can make it real, and Rox,” he hands her another copy of the papers, “there’s another copy here, I didn’t know if he’s on your birth certificate or not?”
“He is,” Roxy says with a smile, she places her hand on her heart and swoons, “You really thought of me?”
Eddie nods, “It’s only fair. That’s all I wanted. We’re both his kids, it should be official… if you want?”
“I want. There’s nothing more that I want, son,” Wayne takes the pages and unfolds them, “You got a pen?”
“Yeah, I do,” Eddie quickly reaches back into his pocket and pulls out a pen, he hands it to Wayne and watches him sign the few lines he was required to. “there… is that it?”
“For now, we need to pick a day to bring it to the courthouse and have a judge sign off on it, apparently dudes try to adopt their girlfriends and shit so they have to do background checks,” Eddie still can’t believe the lady who gave him the papers said that. And that people really try and do that… it’s so weird.
“Ew,” Roxy vocalizes her disgust, “really?”
He just nods, “Yeah… but I mean, our local judge is Lucas’s dad so, I think it’ll go through pretty easily and you’ll be my real dad in no time.”
“And my brother,” Roxy gives him a glorious smile. “I always wanted a big brother.”
“As your big brother I have some ground rules,” he says with confidence, even though on the inside he’s terrified. “I know you already said yes to that date with Steve, but he’s mine. I’ll share Wayne, I’ll share Friday night pizzas with my friends, I’ll share the fucking trailer if I have to… I just can’t share Steve.”
“Oh, no you don’t have to worry at all…” She puts her hands up in surrender and she looks genuinely scared, she turns to Wayne and then back to Eddie and she realizes right then and there that this is it. This is the moment, she has to take it. “I’m… I’m a lesbian.”
“Oh,” Eddie’s shoulders drop, his mouth hangs open while he stares at her. “oh…”
“That’s wonderful,” Wayne reaches over for her hand and gives her a smile. “We’ll have to set you up with one of Eddie’s girlfriends, I think Robin—
“For sure, Robin,” Eddie can’t help but smile. “She had a feeling we were more alike than I thought.”
“She’d be right,” Roxy laughs through her tears, overwhelmed with love and acceptance… this is how it should’ve gone with her mom. “Thank you, thank you,  really.”
“Always, sweetheart,” Wayne looks at her with so much love in his heart. And then to Eddie, he reaches out his other hand to hold them both and he sits up a bit straighter for his own announcement. “I think it’s 'bout time you both know I’ve been seein’ someone, too… it’s serious, he’s coming over to meet you both around 8.”
“Oh, that’s wonderful,” Roxy is overjoyed for him. “What’s his name?”
“Scott Clarke,” Eddie answers with a knowing smile.
“How’d you—
“Do you just like talking to Steve and Robin on Sundays before work…? Is that why you bring the tapes all the way up to the desk instead of the drop-off bin outside?” Eddie questions, smirking away, enjoying the shade of pink Wayne was turning. “They’re not dumb.”
“Oh hush, you should be happy for me!” Wayne shoots back.
“I am!” Eddie squeezes his hand a bit tighter, shaking it too. “How’d it happen?”
“Yeah, tell us everything?” Roxy adds, the same big smile plastered to her own face.
“He was takin’ names at the shelter after the quake, he knew I’d need a friend and he put his cot next to mine… we talked for 2 days before Dustin told me about Eddie, it was the worst week of my life but Scott made it a bit better,” Wayne shares, laying his whole heart on the line. “I know it must be weird for both of you, you know, I was with your mom and Eddie’s seen me date ladies over the years, but never a man… not that I didn’t see men, I just haven’t felt— I haven’t been brave enough to bring a man here, not until Eddie came out to me.”
Roxy lays her other hand on top of his, holding him close, “There isn’t a time limit on coming out, you know? It’s actually really normal to not know as early as we do,” she references to herself and Eddie. “You get to be happy and yourself for the rest of your life now… I just hope he’s good to you.”
“He’s wonderful,” Wayne swoons. “I can’t even begin to tell ya, you’ll just have to find out when you meet him.”
“I can’t wait.”
“Me either,” Eddie agrees, even though he knows Mr. Clarke. “You know he taught me that first year I lived here, in the trailer, right?”
Wayne nods, “he said you were a little shit and I couldn’t agree more.”
“Oh, I see,” Eddie playfully rolls his eyes. “But, no, really, he is a great guy, Rox. He’s one of the best teachers around, he actually asked me to keep an eye out for Dustin when he moved up to high school.”
“He did?” Wayne didn’t know that.
Eddie nods, “Yeah, last September, apparently Dustin and Mike were walking down to the middle school to have lunch with him every day and he so sent them my way instead.”
“He has a huge heart,” Wayne can’t sing his praise any louder, even the look on his face screams love. He’s so gone for a science teacher of all people. It’s cute. Eddie’s really happy for him.
“You guys serious?” Eddie can’t help but wonder cause Wayne looks like he’s in love.
Wayne nods, “I’m thinking I might start staying at his place on Saturday nights, so you’d have the trailer to yourself… with Steve.”
“He has an empty house 7 days a week, if we wanted alone time we’d go there,” Eddie reminds him with a smirk. “I don’t think he swings this way, however.”
“Ah…” Roxy grits her teeth and tilts her head, thinking differently. “I wouldn’t say that.”
“You can like both, clearly,” Wayne references to himself, dropping both their hands and crossing his arms. “Seriously, how could he not like you?”
“Thanks, dad… I’m really glad we can talk to each other like this,” he softens again. “It’s nice.”
“I always want you to come talk to me, both of you,” he looks back and forth between them. “I love you.”
They both say it back to him at the same time, only Eddie says it a little bit faster, sticking his tongue out at Roxy right after. “I win.”
“This time,” Roxy teases back. “You know, we should take that family photo you wanted,” Roxy reminds Wayne, standing from the table to find her purse.
“Maybe we can get Scott to take it?” Wayne suggests, “It’ll look better that way.”
They’re all laughing when there’s a knock at the door, making all their heads spin towards it. “He’s here,” Wayne gleams, standing up from the table to go and answer it. “Scotty.”
“Hey,” Scott walks into the trailer and right into Wayne's arms, holding him tight with his face in Wayne's neck. He breathes him in quickly and then pulls back with a smile and then he notices the other two people in the room. “Oh, oh, hi…”
“Scotty, these are my kids… you know Eddie already but, this is Roxy.”
“Hello,” Roxy comes right over and puts out her hand, “it’s so nice to meet you.”
Scott shakes her hand gently, “You look so much like Wayne, it’s remarkable… he said you looked a lot like Eddie but I had no idea this much.”
She smiles, turning back to Eddie, “We need to start telling people we’re twins.”
“I’m 2 years older than you,” he snips back.
“So, when you turn 21 we can use it to our advant—”
“Okay, hush with that,” Wayne steps in, smiling the whole time, “you can be delinquents when he goes home.”
“Sorry… hey, Mr. Clarke,” Eddie just gives him a little wave.
“Scott is just fine, it’s been ages since I was your teacher,” Scott can’t help but laugh.
“Hmm, I don’t know, you’re always gonna be Mr. Clarke the only good teacher I’ve ever had,” Eddie compliments him in his own way, “it’ll be nice to have you around more.”
“And you’re both okay with this?” Scott looks so genuinely worried. He knows Wayne well enough already to know that his kids are his world, even if it’s only been a few days since he found out about Roxy.
“Super okay with it,” Roxy assures, “I always wanted a dad and now I might get two…”
“Wait, can we call you our stepdad, now?”
“No.” Wayne shakes his head at the same time that Scott lights up with a very enthusiastic, “Yes!”
“Really?” Wayne looks at him, full of shock and awe.
He nods, “If you’re okay with it?”
Wayne holds his hand a bit tighter. “Well, how would you like to take a photo of me and your stepkids?”
They get him the camera, they gather on the couch, one kid on either side of Wayne and they all smile. It’s the same smile. Their eyes light up with little wrinkles around them, they have dimples on their left cheeks, and they’re 100% a family. No tests needed.
“Is there like an ice cream place here at all?” Roxy asks, wanting to break away for a bit. “We should go hang out, just us.”
“Uh, not really? But we can get something at the 7/11?” Eddie suggests, “Come on, I’ll drive… Wayne, you guys want anything from the store?”
“I’m good, you good?” He asks Scott, arm around him while they sit on the couch.
“I’m fine, thank you,” Scott just scoots in closer to Wayne and smiles, he’s overjoyed with being out and supported for the first time in his life.
“We’ll be back,” Eddie announces, he holds the front door open and lets Roxy out first, following quickly behind her and towards his van.
They hop in at the same time, slamming their doors in tandem. He shoves the key in the ignition and turns it, starting his noisy van with a rumble. They buckle up, he throws her in reverse and he whips them around with a smile, “Do you drive at all?”
She shakes her head, “no, I didn’t really need to drive cause I had a bus system to get around in Chicago… I really liked the bus.”
“We have 1 bus but it only takes people into Indianapolis and it’s 3 times a week,” Eddie shares, “did you have to go to Indy first before you got here?”
“I did, it took a few hours and I could only bring 2 bags of my things, but, it’s what I had to do,” she explains with a sigh, looking out the window at her new town.
“If you want to go back and get some stuff we can use my van,” he offers, “it’s only fair.”
“I can ask Steve to help, you don’t have to—
“Really?” He almost can't believe it. “Why?”
“It’s not like that, believe me, he just… he asked me to call him instead of you if it involves coming to my apartment and Wayne told me why,” she explains, knowing this is going to suck to talk about. “I’m sorry, Eddie.”
“Oh,” he didn’t expect either of them to tell her. At least not so soon. “It’s okay, I should be over it by now…”
“No, you don’t have to get over it! She was your mom,” Roxy pushes back. “I don't want you to come over if it’s going to bring everything back, we can hang out at the trailer or with your friends and Steve made it clear he will drive me home for you.”
“Don’t lead him on,” Eddie blurts out. He can’t help but worry.
“I don’t plan on it.”
“It’s just… He thinks you’re pretty and he hasn’t gone on a date since everything happened in March, so that means he really liked you… I’m not saying call it off and ditch him, just… just don’t string him along and leave me with the tangled mess,” Eddie begs. “I love him too much to see him hurt.”
“And he loves you the same,” Roxy points out. “He was adamant about keeping you from the apartment and I saw the eyes you gave each other at the party… and the way he looks at you like you hung the moon is admirable. I want something like that.”
“You really think so?”
“Absolutely,” Roxy gleams, making Eddie believe it too. “Wayne said you two are basically inseparable, he was genuinely surprised when you said you weren’t going to see him tonight.”
“I want to, believe me… it’s just-- I don’t want to talk to him about you right now, he’s really into you all cause you look like me,” Eddie explains, “you’re the safe option for him.”
“Safe?”
“Straight. Normal, appropriate,” he lists off some synonyms for her. “It’s everything I can’t give him.”
It breaks her heart a little to hear but she understands it perfectly. She stares at him for a moment, wanting to do something to help but she doesn’t know what… “do you want me to talk to him about it?”
“What?” He panics a bit.
“I don’t know, man, maybe I could relate to him? I know what this is like… it’s not easy growing up in a family that looks at you but doesn’t see you, they have this whole life imagined out for you and you never fulfil their dreams and then you have to accept that in order to be yourself and be happy you have to leave them. If he wants to be happy, if he wants you, he should be able to have that, even if never talking to your mom again hurts like a son-of-a-bitch.”
He pulls into the 7/11 parking lot just then and parks, slowly he turns the van off and looks over at her with the gentlest eyes. She’s crying slightly, wishing she wasn’t but it hurts too much to pretend anymore. “I’m so sorry…”
“It’s okay, I’m going to be okay here,” she wipes her tears and gives him a little smile. “But I can talk to him.”
“Okay,” Eddie agrees, it’s a better idea than Will’s, and easier than Robin’s advice to just tell Steve himself. “I want to tell him I love him for the first time, myself, though, okay?”
“Perfectly reasonable,” she swoons. “I’d do anything for you, Eddie… I think this new life is going to be good for me and I wouldn’t have it without you.”
He takes his seatbelt off and reaches over for a hug, she does the same, meeting him halfway to squeeze him tightly. He digs his chin into her shoulder, closing his eyes and relaxing.
Finally.
She spends most of Sunday in bed, tired from the last few days. Moving was stressful, finding her dad was rewarding and sharing her feelings was way too vulnerable… she needed to recover. She wanted to spend the next 72 hours under her covers, alone, without any responsibilities… but that wasn’t possible.
She had a date with Steve and his feelings tonight.
Her plan was simple enough, they were going to have dinner and a chat and she was going to invite him back to share a bottle of vodka she stole from her grandma before she left… she was going to share her own feelings with him and in return, he’d tell her all of his own.
And she wanted to ask about Robin… she’s so pretty and funny and kind… it wasn’t hard to daydream about a date with her instead. If things went right with Steve, he could put in a good word and maybe, just maybe, she’ll finally get to kiss another girl. She stared at Robin’s lips a little too much on Friday, she talked a mile-a-minute and her smile was beautiful, Roxy couldn’t help but stare. Couldn’t help but think about kissing her lips and holding her hands and telling her just how beautiful she is. She deserves to know someone’s falling for her, she deserves to be fawned over. She deserves the world.
Instead of dwelling on what could be, she rolls herself out of bed and into the shower. It feels nice to take care of herself after such a rough week, she spends a little extra time in there just to relax before she has to do her hair and maybe some makeup… she doesn’t want to lead him on at all. She wanted to be his friend, badly. But nothing more.
She gets ready quite quickly, cleans up her apartment in case he takes her up on her offer to come over and then she waits for him downstairs, in front of the building.
“Hey!” Steve calls out, his windows all rolled down, he barely had the time to turn down his music.
She hops into the passenger seat with a smile, “Hey, there.”
“You look nice!” Steve compliments her, “You ready?”
She nods, “Yeah, thanks. Let’s go, I’m starving.”
Once she’s got her seatbelt on, Steve takes off down the road, music on low, he tosses a smile her way and then goes back to the road, “How are you?”
“Good… tired, but good.”
“Don’t tell me sleeping problems run in the Munson genes?” He teases.
She laughs, “It does, but I slept okay. I’m just tired from moving and all the social stuff I’ve been doing.”
“Yeah, I feel that, tomorrow is my last day off for the next week,” he shares.
“How late did you work last night?” She asks.
“Closed at 10, was home around 10:45 after doing paperwork and dropping Robin off,” he explains. “I went over to the trailer but it looked like a full house, I didn’t want to intrude, so I just went home.”
“Yeah, we did Father's Day dinner yesterday cause it was Wayne's only day off,” she pressed her lips together awkwardly, not saying that Eddie was avoiding him.
“Oh shit, it's fathers day today…”
“Forget to call your dad?”
He shakes his head, “We don’t call each other unless we need to… like if I burned the house down or my mom was in the hospital.”
“Oh,” she nods along. She was right. She could sense it in him, their lives were similar.
Before she knows it, Steve is pulling up to a diner with a big blue and red neon sign illuminating the parking lot, making up for the lack of sunshine today. It was gloomy and gross out, something she was used to in Chicago and it followed her here.
Steve opens her door for her, takes her hand to help her out and she smiles awkwardly as she thanks him. Wiping her hand off on her pant leg without meaning to, she keeps a bit of distance from him on the walk-in. He holds the door for her, lets her pick their booth and sits on the side facing the door so he can see everyone who walks in. He’s a protector type. No wonder Eddie was safe with him during whatever happened in March.
They order pretty fast, both getting burgers and fries and a couple of cokes. The lady takes the order, she leaves them alone and they basically are. No one's in tonight, which is weird for Father's Day… but Steve says most families moved away after the earthquake, and those who stayed can’t really afford to eat out that often with repairs.
They talk about the town, about his friends, the school he went to and she shares stories about living in the city. It’s nice. She can see why Eddie likes him so much. He’s easy to talk to, he’s kind, and even though she’s not into dudes, he is really pretty.
She starts to pull apart at the piece of bun that fell off her burger and she eats it little by little as the conversation lulls to a halt. She feels awkward, he does too, so she says the first thing that comes to mind.
Robin.
“How long have you been friends with Robin?”
“Oh, uh, I think a full year now,” he can’t believe it as he says it. “We started working together last summer at the mall… before it burned down.”
“And you looked for another job together? That’s so cute,” she swoons. “Your friendship seems adorable.”
“And you have nothing to worry about, she is strictly a friend. Platonic with a capital P as she would say,” he recalls with a fond smile. “She’s more of a sister to me than anything, I feel like we were separated at birth or something.”
“No, that’s good, really good actually,” she makes a note of that. Hopefully, Robin didn’t have any romantic interest in him either. “My dad said you’re a huge flirt so I was wondering why you never flirted with her last night…”
“I’m not a huge flirt?” He’s taken aback by that, “I’m just nice to the people I like…”
“So you like my brother?” She teases him, she’s always picked up on the way Steve was with Eddie and vice versa.
There was an obvious tension there.
He stutters and turns a deep red, “what? no…”
She leans in close and drops her voice so no one outside of their booth can hear her, “Is that why you asked me out? Cause I’m like a girl version of Eddie?”
He buries his face in his hands and rests his elbows against the table with a groan, “how’d you figure me out so easily?”
“Steve, this is perfect,” she reaches over and pats the top of his head as he looks up at her. She brushes his hair out of his face and smiles, keeping her voice low and just between them, she tells him the truth. “I was worried I wouldn’t find the queer scene in Hawkins, or if there even was one…? Do you know other gay people?”
“I’m not…” he can’t even say the word, “but yeah, I do? Wait, are you saying you’re—”
“Gay?” She confirms with a nod. “The gayest. I love women so much I almost passed out when I saw Robin for the first time.”
“Oh, she’s going to love this,” he leans back against the booth and shakes his head with a building smile on his face and then he flicks his attention back to her. “Wait, so, you’re not mad I asked you out but don’t really have feelings for you?”
She shakes her head, “you’re still paying, right?” She teases, not caring in the slightest. Having him as a friend was going to be nice.
“Of course,” it was a no-brainer to him. “Can I ask you something?”
She nods, “anything?”
“Robin always jokes about being the gay cousin in her family, so if you’re gay does that mean that Eddie won’t be?” He asks, legitimately believing the joke.
“Steve, honey, that’s not a real statistic,” she wants to laugh at how absurd it was but he genuinely doesn’t know. “And why would it matter… you said you’re not gay?”
He shrugs, “I’m not… I mean, I—I can’t talk about it here.”
“That’s okay, but you should talk to someone about it… I’m done here if you want to go?” She offers, “I have a bottle of vodka at my apartment if you really want to get your feelings out?”
“I would actually love that…”
She sets the bottle and two shot glasses down on the table, “I only have Mountain Dew for a chaser… is that okay?”
“Yeah,” Steve really didn’t care. “It’s been a bit since I’ve gotten drunk… we’ve had too much going on these last few months.”
“I bet, I can’t believe how often your town was on the news lately,” she says from the kitchen. “Did you get hurt in the earthquake at all?”
“I got hurt before… it’s a long story, I’m not even sure I can talk about it all. I can say it sucked, though,” he manages to give her a smile as she places the cans in front of him. “It was the worst week of my life. And I’ve been through some shit.”
Steve pours them each a shot before she even sits down on the couch beside him. He can feel his heart beating 10 times as fast and his hands are clammy, but this is the best chance he has at getting all this shit out of him that’s haunted him for years. If he told Robin she’d give him a hug and she’d support him through it, obviously, and he’d love that but he doesn’t ever want her to look at him and know that she sees him differently… and Eddie. He can’t tell Eddie because if Eddie knew, he’d really kill someone and he’d really go away this time.
Roxy is the best option. She’s safe, she’s kind, she’s gay… she has no idea who Steve Harrington is, he can’t ruin his reputation if it doesn’t exist here.
He downs the shot and cracks open the mountain dew to chase it, coughing a bit, he makes a funny face, “God, that’s awful.”
“I stole it before I left,” she admits, reaching for her own shot. “I doubt my grandma will even notice it’s missing too…”
“Do they know you’re here?”
She nods, “I think so… they don’t really care where I am as long as I’m not being a sinner under their roof.”
“Oh, shit, I’m sorry,” Steve gets it right away. “Did you tell them or did they find out?”
She downs her shot and coughs too, holding her chest with a grimace, “Ugh… I uh, I told them. I only wanted to tell them if I had something lined up after graduation, cause then it wouldn’t matter what they said… I could just leave. Eddie was my ticket out of there. I didn’t need a college to run to or a job to start, I saw him on the news and the reporter said he ran the dnd club and had a band and there were rumours he was queer and I knew if my mom didn’t support me that my dad might.”
“I’m sorry,” Steve whispers, reaching out and laying his hand on her knee for a moment. He gives her a gentle pat and then reaches back to the bottle for another shot.
She shrugs it off, pretending she’s fine. “It’s okay, I guess… I told Wayne last night and he was exactly as wonderful as I expected. So was Eddie…”
“Obviously,” Steve says through the burn of the shot. “Even though Eddie’s never said the words out loud, to me, I know… and he knows I know. I assume he’s also told Wayne by now and even if he hasn’t, I remember Eddie told me one night that Wayne picked him up from a sleepover and he told him he was always going to love him no matter what… and that sleepover was the first time he thought about wanting to kiss another boy and it was like Wayne always knew… like maybe he saw himself in Eddie.”
“Yeah, I think that’s right… and you know about his boyfriend, right? It was Robins theory but—”
“Oh, no, I know!” Steve lights right up at that, “It is Mr. Clarke isn’t it?
“He told me and Eddie last night at dinner, and we met him, he’s adorable with Wayne,” Roxy beams, “did Eddie tell you anything about last night?”
Steve shakes his head, his face goes glum again, “No, it’s been radio silence since the party… he didn’t even come into the store these last 2 days.”
“He was busy with Nancy yesterday, she helped him get two copies of adult adoption papers so that Wayne can be both of our dads, he didn’t know that my mom put Wayne on my birth certificate, so I didn’t need a copy, it was just nice that he thought of me,” Roxy looks genuinely happy. She found her place in the world and it’s working out for her.
“So Wayne’s his dad now?”
Roxy nods, “They both signed it so, I think so, yeah.”
“Why didn’t he tell me?”
“He thinks you’re not into him like that,” she’s brutally honest. “He also called dibs on you last night… I mean not in those words, but he did tell me I better not string you along and leave him with your tangled mess. It was kinda poetic…”
Steve groans, “Oh god, he thinks I’m a mess?”
“No, he just can’t deal with you pining over someone else when he loves you so much,” she lets it slip and her eyes go wide. She quickly covers her mouth then, “I wasn’t supposed to say that.”
The alcohol must’ve hit them both at the same time, making her slip up… Steve feels it in his face and in his ears, everything is hot and his heartbeat is loud. It gets more intense as her words settle in. Eddie loves him.
“He loves me?” Steve repeats.
“Of course he does?” She leans right into it. “Wayne told me about Eddie’s history with this place, that’s why you offered to drive me home instead…”
Steve nods, “he doesn’t need any added pain, he’s been through enough.”
“How was he not supposed to fall in love with you?” Roxy can’t help but laugh, “you’d take a bullet for him, wouldn’t you?”
“You have no idea… really… none at all.”
“No, but he does,” she moves the focus right back to Eddie’s love for him. “From his little speech last night, I know his mom died and his dad abandoned him and for a long time it was only Wayne that he could depend on… he wants someone to make the conscious decision and pick him regardless of what’s going on. He wants someone who’s going to stay with him forever and that’s you, Stevie.”
Steve doesn’t know what to say, he stares down at his hands and twiddles his thumbs, pulling at a hangnail real quick… he wants that too but it’s scary. Everything changes if he admits his feelings and they date. Every single aspect of his life changes. It’s so overwhelming he starts to cry, pinching the bridge of his nose, he turns away from her so she won’t see it. But she hears it. He lets out a choked sob, he covers his whole face in shame and loses it.
“Steve,” she moves in closer and wraps her arm around him to rub his back, she shushes him in a soothing tone, “it’s okay, breathe, you’re okay.”
“I want that…” he says through the tears. “I just… I can’t— I can’t love him quietly. You know?”
She knows a bit too well. “I know.”
“My dad’ll kill me,” he tries so hard not to sob, biting his lip so it won’t wobble.
“Can I be honest?”
He just nods, scared but he wants to hear it.
“I met your parents on Friday night—
“No?”
“Hopper and Joyce love you like family. Robin is your sister, Dustin loves you like a brother, those other kids look up to you and even your ex-girlfriend still loves having you in her life,” Roxy recounts, she saw the way everyone treated each other. She noticed how much of a family they are.
Steve knows she’s right but it’s easier said than done.
“I told them at my graduation dinner, right after the cake… they asked me when I was going to get a boyfriend and settle down if I wasn’t going to go to school and I said never, cause I’m a lesbian,” she stops to stare off at the wall, taking a few breaths with her tongue caught between her teeth. “They uh, they were quiet and then my mom lost it.”
Steve doesn’t know what to say, he goes to say he’s sorry but she cuts him off.
“It wasn’t ‘you’re going to hell’ or ‘you’re a sinner’ or anything I expected. She was mad because my grandma never let her boyfriends move in—not after what happened…”
“God, I’m sorry,” Steve can’t believe it.
“She said I can’t be gay cause I was always leading her boyfriends on and if I am then she wasted the last few years being single and not having dudes over just because of me… like it’s somehow my fault all the men she loved were fucking creeps?” Roxy can’t help but rant, it just falls out of her. “She was always a bitch, she never gave a single fuck about my feelings and it’s not like she was around that much so it shouldn’t hurt this bad but—
“No, I get it… my parents are nowhere near the best parents in Hawkins like they barely crack the top 1000, but the idea of them unloading all the shit I’ve heard them say about other gay people onto me is going to kill me, if he doesn’t,” Steve empathizes. “And I can’t get an apartment, I’ve only been working this last year and it’s not like I have a trust fund or life savings, if they find out I have to find a way to live on $6.50 an hour.”
“You could move in here,” she offers, “we could split the rent?”
“Then Eddie won’t come over,” he reminds her. “I’d be doing all this for him… none of the other dudes I’ve had crushes on were ever worth coming out for.”
“You know, Wayne’s not going to let you go homeless either… everyone in your life will offer to take you in if your parents kick you out.”
“The last thing I want is to feel like a burden on everyone,” he admits, reaching for the vodka again, he takes a swig right from the bottle this time.
“Ew, gross,” she snatches the bottle back from him. “If you want to go crazy, I’ll get you a bigger glass.”
She stands up and her eyes go wide as her balance gets thrown, “fuck, okay, I’m good.”
“Do you get drunk often?” Steve asks, watching her walk back over to her tiny kitchen.
“Uhhhh… I tend to drink alone,” she admits as she returns with two regular glass cups. She sets them down and pours at least 3 shots into Steve's glass, less in her own. “I’ve never been invited to a house party or had friends that wanted to come over…”
“In my experience, there’s never a guest list for house parties, you can just show up,” Steve knows from experience. “I don’t think I’ve ever gotten an explicit invitation…”
“So you’re a partier and a flirt…”
“Some would say I’m a slut,” he picks up his glass and gives her a cheers. “Robin, specifically, used to call me a slut, actually.”
“Used to?”
He just nods, pouring his Mountain Dew into the vodka so it’s easier to down quickly. “I’m going through a dry spell.”
“It’s only a dry spell if you’re trying to get dates,” she calls him out, guessing that he’s been too hung up on Eddie to really make a move on someone else.
And she’d be right.
“At first it was just cause I was busy taking care of everyone and everything… me and Eddie were in the hospital for a few days and Dustin sprained his ankle, that took a while to heal and you should see how he gets when he’s even slightly sick or sore, he’s a total baby,” Steve complains but he clearly loves it. “And then we went back to work and Robin started seeing Vickie and having her sleepovers so I kept going to see Eddie and it just became so routine, I mean, I have a toothbrush in his bathroom and his clothes are in my drawers…”
“How long have you known?”
“That I love him or?”
“I’ve known that I like girls since I was 5 and I discovered the bra section in the Macy’s Christmas catalogue,” Roxy can’t help but smile, it’s just the tiniest bit embarrassing. “It made my heart race and a part of me felt a little shameful but, they’re just so pretty and they looked so soft… and I’ve never felt that way about a boy. Sure, you’re cute, and Argyle was handsome and I can see why Nancy likes Johnathan… but Robin, oh my god?” She sighs, tipping her head back, and staring up at the ceiling. “She’s so pretty.”
Steve just laughs, “Yeah, I thought I was in love with her for about 3 days last year… It turns out I have a hard time differentiating between romantic love and platonic love at first.”
“But you know how you love Eddie?”
“Pretty terrifyingly positive,” Steve admits, sipping on his drink, he holds it close to his chest like a hug and stares off at her wall. “I thought I just wanted to kiss him, at first, something about watching him talk made my heart feel like a magnet and I kept getting closer and closer and I wanted him to devour me with those lips… he kissed me in his sleep once. He rolled over and wrapped his arm around me, he kissed the back of my neck and snuggled in and— and thats when it all hit me.”
“And you’ve never told anyone that before?” Roxy can’t believe it, not even Robin has heard this before and she can tell from the look on his face.
“It’s nice having someone to talk to who doesn’t know anything about me. And it’s even nicer that you feel so much like home,” he smiles at her, his shoulders drop and all the tension in his system disappears. “You have no idea who I am, what I’ve done… he knows everything.”
“You need to talk to him,” Roxy says with a sigh, she can’t say anything more. Eddie wanted to be the first one to tell Steve he really loved him, Roxy couldn’t take that from him. “Do you want to use my phone? You need to talk to him.”
“No, no, no,” Steve shakes his head, waving one of his hands. “No, I’m not saying it on the phone, I have to go see him.”
“You can’t drive?!” she reminds him, her voice getting a bit louder than she expected. “Seriously, Steve.”
“So, I’ll walk,” he goes to stand but he’s a bit wobbly. He’s had a quarter of the bottle and all he ate today was dinner.
“No,” she reaches out for his hand. “I’ll call him, he’ll come get you. He’s not afraid to come here, especially not if it’s for you.”
“Fine,” Steve slams himself back down onto the couch, “but we’re waiting outside for him…”
“Okay,” Roxy agrees, heading over to the phone on the wall. She hasn’t had to make a call yet, she really hoped it worked.
Wayne’s number is on a piece of paper taped to the wall, she put it there for when she’d eventually need it and thank god… she was a little too tipsy to dig through all her shit looking for it now. She dials the number quickly, she holds the receiver to her ear and she waits… and waits… but nothing.
“I don’t think he’s home?”
“Ah, fuck,” Steve’s head slumps forward with a sigh, he waits just a second and then tugs himself back up to his feet. “555-2744, thats Robins, he goes to her when I’m busy.”
He watches Roxy dial the new number and wait again, only this time she gets an answer. “Hey, Robin? It’s Roxy. Yeah, hi…” she gets all smiley, “I’m good, how are you?”
“Hey,” Steve shoves her. “Ask about Eddie.”
“Is Eddie with you?— He is? Can he come pick up Steve? We got drunk and he wants to go home,” Roxy explains, nodding along and then she hangs up. “They’re on their way.”
They’re sitting outside on the bench when Eddie pulls up in his van, he throws 'er in park and jumps out just as quickly as Robin. “Is he okay?” She asks first, also reaching Steve first.
“I’m fine,” he pushes Robin's hand off his arm, drunker now since he chugged the rest of his drink. “I wanna go home…”
“I’ll take you home,” Eddie smiles softly, not expecting Steve to stand and throw himself at him. But he does. Eddie catches him with an “Oof, okay, big fella.”
“Just you,” he whispers. “Only wanna go home with you.”
Eddie just holds him, “okay… Robs, can you stay here with Roxy and make sure she doesn’t get drunker without anyone around?”
Robin nods, turning to Roxy, “What got into you two? This was a date, was it not?”
“Nooo!” Both Roxy and Steve turn to her to assure her, hands raised and both mildly disgusted.
“Okay, damn,” she looks back at Steve, unable to read him when he’s drunk, “you be good for Eddie, don’t start running on him like you do with me.”
“That was one time,” Steve points, squinting, he can barely hold himself up, luckily Eddie is there. “I’m fine… I just wanted my Eddie.”
“Well, you got me,” Eddie can’t help but smile. “Come on, let’s get you in the van… goodnight ladies, call me in the morning?”
“I will,” Robin smiles back. “Take care of him, he’s one of a kind.”
“You think I don’t know that?”
“Shh,” Steve covers his mouth, “don’t talk about me like I’m not here.”
Eddie laughs, turning him towards the van and helping him into the passenger seat. He helps him with his seatbelt and takes a leap of faith… he kisses Steve on the forehead quickly, “Stay put, I’m just running around to the driver's side, okay?”
Steve grabs his arm and holds him there, staring into his eyes, pouting slightly. “Don’t be long? I always miss you…”
“I won’t,” Eddie assures him, pulling away and shutting the door. He turns back to the girls, who are watching intently. “See ya.”
“Bye,” they wave in tandem.
He rushes around to his side and hops in quickly, “see, I’m speedy.”
“Mhm,” Steve closes his eyes and leans back against the headrest, slightly turning towards Eddie.
He starts the van and pulls out into the street carefully, heading back towards Steve's place… it was always weird to think they lived so close, the trailer park and Kerley were only separated by a farmer's field. It would take 10 minutes to walk. They shared the same bus all through school for crying out loud.
The drive is quiet, Eddie almost thinks Steve is asleep until he speaks. “You missed the turn?”
“I’m going to your house?”
“No, I wanted to go home,” Steve whines.
Eddie’s heart swells as he takes a deep breath, realizing that Steve means the trailer.
His house isn’t his home.
Eddie is.

Sing Yourself to Sleep - Bucky x Y/N - Part Nine - The Last Time
This chapter is what truly inspired this series. It is inspired by The Last Time by The Script. For anyone who hasn't heard it, I highly recommend you give it a listen. Danny O'Donohue's voice carries so much pain it makes the song all the more intense. This chapter is entirely Bucky's pov. As always please like, reblog etc. And feedback is always welcome :)
Bucky sat on the wing of the plane, anxiously awaiting Y/N's arrival. He knew she was afraid to be seen too closely with him, so out here with nobody to see them but the planes in the hanger was perfect. He had a bottle of whiskey with him, just like that first night they spoke.
Thinking on that first night, he never thought it would lead to something like this. They bonded over their grief, and that mutal respect for eachother turned into something magical. He didnt want to love her, he didnt want to be a homewrecker, especially when the husband was someone he actually liked and respected. But he couldnt help it. John Egan knew a thing or two about fate, and he knew this was fate. He and Y/N were meant to be together. Yes, it was messy, but it would all be worth it in the end.
She was late. He had never known her to be late. He was starting to worry she wasnt coming. The box in his pocket grew heavier. He knew Y/N didnt want a be an adulterer, and he knew she felt both shame and regret at their affair. No not regret, theres no way she could regret the love they share. But she was shameful. Bucky knew he had to do the right thing by her.
She finally arrived at 2:11pm. 'I'm sorry I'm late' she said, offering no explanation as to why.
'It's okay doll. Let me help you.'
He hoisted her up onto the wing of the plane. He pulled out the bottle of whiskey, taking a sip straight from the bottle before offering it to her. 'I don't think thats a wise idea John.'
'Course it is! Just like that first time we spoke, remember?' he said, once again offering her the bottle.
'Of course I remember.' she took a small sip from the bottle. 'I could never forget that.'
'Me neither' he said. They stared into eachothers eyes, the love and attraction thick in the air. Y/N cut the moment short.
'So, why'd you bring me out here?' she said in a tone that made Bucky think she wanted to leave.
'Because, I uh... well I wanted to talk to you... about us. About what you said about Clarke.'
'I'm certain he knows. He has to. He's been acting so strange.'
'Well we don't need to worry about that anymore.'
Y/N looked at him with confusion plain on her face. Bucky reached into his pocket and pulled out a small velvet box. He opened it to reveal a beautiful diamond ring.
'It was my Ma's. I wrote to her asking her to ship it over to me.'
'Oh Bucky... We can't.'
'I know, the wars not over yet. I want to be able to give you a real life outside this place. But divorces take time so I figure you get things started with the Colonel and then-'
'Bucky no! We can't. I can't.' she interrupted him.
'Why not? I know its gonna be tough, I do, but we'll get through it together. I'm not saying right this minute... But soon, when this war is over... I love you.'
'I love you too Bucky, but I can't marry you. I wont leave Bertie.'
'What? If its because you think he can give you more than I can...' Bucky was spiraling. This was not how he thought this would go. He thought she would say yes. He thought she would kiss him sensless and they would celebrate with the whiskey he brought. He never thought this. 'Well maybe right now yeah but... I'm a Major. I could be a Colonel some day, I can support you! I'll buy you whatever-'
'Oh Bucky it's not about that!' There was a brief moment of silence, Y/N bit her lip before she spoke again. 'It's about Me and Albert. He is a good man. And for better or worse I married him. I devoted myself to him. And he has loved me unconditionally in return. I was wrong to ever let myself get involved with you. I came here today to end things Bucky.'
No. She couldn't. She couldn't be ending things. He loved her. He wanted to marry her. He never thought he'd want to marry anyone but he wanted to marry her. What they had wasnt wrong, It wasnt the best start to a relationship sure, but it couldnt be wrong. She made his heart swell, made him smile so much his cheeks hurt. This could not be the last time she made him smile like that.
'You don't me that.' Was all he could manage to get out.
'I do. I'm sorry Bucky. But I need to focus on my marraige. If we end things now, It might have a solid chance.
This is the last thing that Bucky ever thought would happen. He never thought she would do this to him, because he knew it was the last thing he would have ever done to her.
'No! You can't. We are meant to be together. After all we've been through, everything we ever told eachother. All the times we kiss? Made love? It can't be the last time.'
Y/N reached to touch Bucky's cheek, his eyes sliding closed as she did. She reached to place a gentle kiss on his other cheek. Then she slid off the wing of the plane and landed as elegantly as she could. 'I'm sorry Bucky, it is.... Goodbye John.'
She walked away then. Back to her husband Bucky presumed. He couldn't believe it. If he had known that the night he made love to her in London would be the last time, he would have never let either of them leave that bed. His heart was broken. He could feel it in his chest. It was worse than any bullet or flak.
For the first time since he was a child, John Clarence 'Bucky' Egan cried. He cried, and he drank.
Buck Cleven found him several hours later, passed out drunk on the wing of the plane. He needed Harry Crosby to help him get his friend down safely.
The following day he was told he was being given another weekend pass to London. London was the last place he wanted to be but his leave was non-negotiable. He didn't bother to ask who approved the leave, he didnt need to. He knew Colonel Clarke would be responsible.

So I clearly missed some things due to my severe lack of activeness on this hellsite (derogatory) but I'd very much like to know more about Then He Got Rough if you feel comfortable sharing.
If not though, that's totally okay!! Either way, hope you're doing well, my friend 💜🙏🏻
!!!! Thats my Original Work!! I occasionally mention it on here, but I do need to be quite careful about what I say cuz theirs a lotta stuff in it that is meant to be a surprise XD But goddddddddddddddd I love talking about it, so thank you for asking!! ^^
Basically it is a small town murder mystery, but using Slasher Movie Tropes. Its also got a lotta platonic love and other more complicated kinds of relationships because I'm, of course, aro and I need that shit XD Here's a basic blurb I made up for someone else who asked one time ^^
Hallie (the virgin) meets Edward Brown (the killer) and they hit it off- she's exactly the kinda girl he likes; friendly, kinda reserved, and they have... err- certain things from their pasts... in common, it turns out. And to her, Edward's the perfect guy, too! He's a young English teacher at the high school and he's got this skinny Clark Kent thing about him?? Awkward, and funny. She doesn't realise he's a part of the little town's most powerful (and tight-lipped) family, the Bamford's (He was adopted into it- Edward Bamford-Brown), until she tells her best friend and roommate Maggie (the whore) about him. Maggie immediately develops a bad taste in her mouth when it comes to Edward. She goes rogue and decides to investigate, employing Hallie's family doctor, Arthur (the scholar), and his old friend/new roommate combo; anxious ex-con Rodney (the fool), who just so happens to be Edwards adoptive aunt Carla Bamford's ex husband. Doors are opened for Maggie into the world of the Bamford's through Arthur and Rodney, and Winnie Bamford (the athlete) later on, and she uncovers some bone chilling secrets about everyone in this family, and everyone a r o u n d them, too, that make her determined to save her friend before its too late.
**You might also be interested to know that, in my head, Rodney (Who is a very charismatic, but very anxious man who used to do some pretty bad things but feels terrible (he knows his behaviour had everything to do with self-loathing) is really truly trying to clean up his act these days post-divorce; rooming with his old friend Arthur and working at the grocery store as its the only job he could get) is played by a more middle-aged Robert Englund XDD (Closer to Professor Wexler in Urban Legend then Inkubus) . Arthur is played by Brad Dourif XDD (so yes- freddy kruger and chucky XD Of course.)
Some little tid-bits I can/want to share also:
The Bamford Family Line-Up:
Mrs Emily Bamford: The matriarch. A cold-hearted snake woman. She pretty much only loves Edward.
Mayor Richard Bamford: He and Em were highschool sweethearts back in the day but broke up when he left to pursue politics in a big city-- but mysteriously came back and married Emily a few months later despite everyone knowing he was doing so well in the city?? Took the Bamford name and everything. Its rumoured that Emily's parents blackmailed him *cough*. Everyone knows Emily is in charge. Richard always looks kind of like a show pony next to her, despite being actual Mayor.
Carla Bamford: Emily's adopted sister and town journalist. She's kinda lily-livered. The only thing she really stood against the family about was her marriage to Rodney (They didn't approve. He was a damn con), but even that fell apart eventually.
Rodney Hawk (Formally Bamford. They made him take their name but he's got his back, now): I already talked about him XD
Edward Bamford-Brown: THE MAIN VILLAIN. Edward is Emily and Richard's adopted son, the same age as their biological daughter (Winnie. up next) who... well, its no secret- is the favourite. Emily would let him get away with anything. She would help him get away with anything. He can do no wrong, in her eyes.
Winnie Bamford: Emily and Richard's biological daughter. She's an insane freak- they sent her away to boarding school in Georgia but she came back worse, and there are s o many rumours about her in town; Orgies and deviant sexual activity, mostly (most of it is true, too). She has a major thing for 'Uncle Rodney' and makes him very very uncomfortable. On the bright side though?? She's more then happy to fuck things up for her spiteful mother by assisting Maggie to uncover some dark secrets (: She wont make it easy, though 😅 That would be no fun.
Unnamed Bamford Family Member: I cant tell you anything about them, whoops.
And Tom Manning: Richard's best friend, and the town lawyer (Edwards lawyer). So close with Rich and Em (And Winnie and Edward) that he's practically part of the family. I have described him as 'a hot dill pickle in a sharp suit if he was a harvard law graduate'. He's slimy, charismatic and seemingly perfect.
Here are the main characters Looks, if you're interested 😅
(Also another little thing that is really just a convoluted blink-and-you'll-miss-it kind of inside joke- Maggie, who has a huge thing for Arthur and constantly describes his eyes as 'brad dourif-blue', is a major Childs Play fan.
... and hallie loves a nightmare on elm street *cough*. she doesnt really interact with rodney, but during the few times they do, they totally have Something. and when she describes her perfect guy?? its the opposite to edward. its rodney. anyway- )
Anyway, thank you for asking! And reading, if you made it this far XDD Sorry for the word-vomit!! I just really really love this story and I really hope one day I can finish it ^^ <3<3<3<3<3<3
I hope you are doing well too- better then before at least ^^ I hope the time away from Tumblr is doing you well! You're right, it can be a very harmful atmosphere and I'm so proud of you for knowing when you need to take a step back!! 💛💛💛💛💛

on a further note of clarks kids. it just gets me sad. all of them just got ruined or damaged by dc.
yall do not gotta read this i ended up ranting about the state of clark's son's/potential super successors and it got REAL long. this is more or less word vomit with no coherent structure. truly my raw thoughts but somewhere in here ( the end ) is what i would envision on this blog.
kon had the most potential to me. then they put him through the ringer. they made him. they hardly made him have connections with superman in his comic runs ( they barley interacted beside the beginning and when clark split into 2 ). then they erased all his character and turned into a re-envisioned character who lacked spunk and all the personality that he once had. then they they erased him from comics for years IN GENERAL. what im trying to say is they practically made a perfect superman heir, removed him from supermans contact, REMADE HIS CHARACTER AND DESIGN, deleted him for some years, BROUGHT HIM BACK unexpectedly when he was already replaced by another superboy since dc never planned to have kon ever come back.. and yeah.
chris well he was great at first like most super kids but then his writing gets weird ( the whole night wing spirit thing was random as hell i fear ). once again much like jon did NOT get enough time to be a child before he also just disappears into the void of potential super heirs to never be heard of again like kon. until chris makes a comeback in rebirth. but oop! dcs favorite child is here, jon, so now chris is a villain for some reason in his new imagining and come back.
and finally jon. he had a great start. super sons was great. but then he just kind of made superman of a lesser character once they AGED UP JON. clarks writing suffered for a period because they wanted jon to be superman so bad. its no surprise all of this was a fiasco. dc tried to do something ( i forgot what ), failed, and were trying to work with their huge stupid mistake. i like jon to some degree but unlike the other supers he really is a superman copy-paste from personality to looks to style ro everything. and I MEAN HE LITERALLY IS JUST CLARK 2... thats what made kon so interesting. he had every potential to be the super successor WHILE ALSO BEING WHOLLY UNIQUE. jon was also a stone thrown in clarks timeline by accident. i say this because the first superboy was kon. dc got rid of him. which made clark have a spot for a new superboy, jon! so they make jon. dc then realizes they want to bring kon back from the archive closet. they bring him back and kon comes back to a world where he is ‘replaced’ and feels replaced. he has all this needless pain that makes no sense because he was unintentionally both replaced and brought back to a world that was written without intention to bring him back. so hes like ‘superman has a new superboy now..what does that make me.’ idk if what im saying is making sense here. imagine if dc restarted the dc universe ( as they do ). they have their intentions in mind where kon wont be written and jon will be the superboy. superman never knew kon existed since its a new universe, everyone is a clean slate now. then dc is like man we should bring back original superboy except instead of making him a clean slate we should make him remember his past from the original universe so he can be in needless pain of story line where we never planned him in. do you get me? there is nothing inherently wrong with jon i enjoy him a ton. its just more or less the superboy title and how clark ‘replaced’ kon..IF CLARK WAS ALLOWED TO RMMR KON HE WOULD OF NEVER REPLACED HIM. EVER. HE LOVED HIM?? ok dc i hate you so bad this will all be fixed on this blog.
do i hate any of the kids? no. i just wish they made sense. i wish no aging up happened. i wish kon was never forgotten. i wish chris..made more sense.
anyway in a perfect universe ( ahem, the rocky cinematic universe found here on supurman dot com ) Kon is the first superboy who is adopted by clark and never got forgotten ( by forgotten i mean literally deleted by dc and forced clark to forget about him ), chris would come along later, and clark has jon with lois who would then be their youngest son with NO AGING UP. kon would be most likely to be the next superman but everyone son is a rightful superboy.

so recently i finished reading the terror (which was… something), and as i went to sleep that same day a fragment from one of the early chapters of the book came back to me (not in a dream fortunately, though that shit do be haunting me). as i was reading the book, i didn’t focus on small bits that i would usually stop on and research, as i really just wanted to reach the ending of this brick of a book, but something that caught my eye was a chapter of franklin’s talking about the search parties sent out to look for leads. i remember vividly that i read a fragment clearly stating that lt edward little before joining the franklin expedition actually sailed with crozier before (and james clark ross), and i remember that so vividly because i went and screamed about it to my friend, because…. THATS INSANE??? and for some reason i just left it at that and read the rest of the book, mostly thinking that i hallucinated that fragment entirely, or remembered it wrong actually. well i have came back now to the early chapters and found said fragment, and no. i was not wrong. the fragment (in chapter 9 franklin, page 139, of the 2018 edition of the book by transworld publishers) clearly reads “little, an old arctic hand, sir john understood, a man who had gone south with crozier and james ross eight years earlier“. since i am not a native english speaker i looked up a polish translation of the book, thinking that maybe my brain wasn’t braining properly, but turns out no, i'm not that dumb. but i digrees. i think if you type that fragment into google, word for word, in quotes there should pop up a version of probably illegal pdf version of the book. and i think i went a little insane with this, because a) my read of edward in both the book and the show was of a man who clearly never before was put in those kind of conditions, possibly tried his best, though failed miserably (there is a scene in the book also, where at the “go for broke” meeting he proposes going out into land and getting wood. as to be expected, the men in the room literally laugh at him. so he doesn’t seem to be experienced with the polar climates at all, as seem to be most of officers on the ships), b) i have done little research (pun intended) and checked up two things. first, the 1839 ross expedition’s list of officers that i managed to find. there is no little, and the only edward (also a lt) there is one with surname bird.
we know from ed’s little biographical dictionary that he became lieutenant in 1837, and unless he didn’t serve as an officer on the ross expedition, there is no mention of him anywhere that i could find.
from this tiny biography of edward’s voyages we also know that little’s closest ever ship to either arctic or antarctic was in 1842 to south america. which is not very close. attentive readers may have also noticed that when the ross expedition set out in 1839, edward little was busy on the board of britannia.
(also while doing this cool little research i have found out that edward possibly met franklin before joining the expedition, and according to lady franklin letters, her husband held little in high regards, which i found interesting)
so now i just really want to know, did dan simmons just straight up decided to make stuff up for fun or…... cuz if so, then he really do be writing fanfictions out there (or maybe someone is more informed then me, just a random person on the internet, in that case PLEASE HELP ME)
but i guess now in the terror universe edward little has served under crozier before (also with thomas jopson, who historically served under crozier), which is something for me to think about when i want to make myself really sad in the middle of the night. or maybe it’s just supposed to show how franklin has no idea who these people who serve under him are, that man is wasaay to old to be out there in the cold you know what im saying

a:tla la thoughts 1.3
oh my god i forgot abt cabbage man being introduced in omashu. he was at the gate but he didnt' say anything! i was waiting for that scream. hopefully next time
oh is this jet. at first i thought it was haru but the shorter hair. sokka's immediate disapproval. this is jet huh. ok. ok i see you
NOOOOOOOOOOO he didnt say it aaaaaa whyyyyyy theyre teasing meeeeeee
OH they're putting this kid in the first season < i said that they looked it up and they do visit the northern air temple in s1. the fact that he and assumedly his father are in omashu instead is. hm. a choice.
jet also being in omashu is weird considering they made it a point to say there's no fire nation presence in omashu. what business does he have here. like why. that's his whole thing. hunting soldiers.
teo's design is sick tho, love the hair. love the goggles. thought his father caused that explosion but if not that was a weird way to show katara and aang are benders.
OH ok now i get it. jet and co are bombing parts of the city as a way for the ppl to rise up. trying to drag omashu into the war. i do like that if that's the case. good angle
i!!!!!!! don't like mai's hair. are they like space buns? what was wrong with her original hair? they had that sort of ornate hairstyle down for suki's mom. i like thalia tran's voice but the hair is rly throwing me off, not to mention the scene they're all introduced in is rly dark for some reason????? if it's colored black i cannot see it.
ty lee is cute tho!!! and i do like azula so far. i like them all so far. just not mai's hair.
hehe :) the cabbages
i don't rly have full context so idk that i can give a complete opinion based on conjecture. the significance behind having teo and sai inhabit the northern air temple was about sharing culture and more than just idk... sai giving weapons to the fire nation to protect their livelihood. like that is a part of it, sure, but by removing the setting, it's taking away a lot of nuance the whole situation had.
jet and co being behind the bombs makes sense but idk in what context. if they're tailing fire nation spies outside (outside???? or does omashu having a woodsy side to it where they've set up camp and i just missed it?) the city to eliminate them, then why also bomb them inside the city? that part to me still seems like indiscriminate attacks meant to incite the army to fight. but i will hold back bc i dont wanna give these writers credit if thats not the case and its smth stupid instead rhgowhgqeg
speaking of stupid. can we live in an era (as someone who knows very little about showrunning) where actors voice if something pertaining to their character is bad or doesn't make sense. didn't emilia clarke wander around london or whatever in absolute turmoil bc she hated the ending for her character in game of thrones but in the end she still went thru w it bc what else could she do. i wanna live in a world where an actor reads a script or tries to act smth out and stops and goes no. no this is stupid i don't like this he would not say that. and it like, have weight and significance?? like if bad writing exists, instead of letting it slide, can ppl in the making of the show voice their opinions? if smth is bad then it's bad.
this is all bc of the senseless iroh pushing zuko to the ground and drawing attn to himself scene at the end of e3. like why. the gate was right there. no one was checking faces. cover zuko's head again and run out in the crowd. do anything aside from the needless sacrifice like what was the point, whyyyyyy, i don't understand.
(this was an interesting mashup episode but tbh all i was thinking thru watching it was 'wow! ppl who get into atla thru the netflix adaptation r gonna be so confused when they watch the cartoon and learn jet and teo are introduced at different points of the season from each other and omashu. completely different points. omashu is first half, jet is middle, teo and sai are end. not a bad thing it was just jarring to think abt.)
once again i do not like anything they've done with iroh's character.
idk i'll probably go in depth next episode when everything hopefully gets explained better but. maybe bc they're making atla into a drama instead of the action/adventure it was originally, they feel like everything has to be "dramatized" and it's sucking the soul out of the show? the comedy isn't there really, which is a shame. atla's comedy is like the golden standard of cartoon kids-rated comedy. i would've loved to see them get into omashu by disguising aang and katara running with the absurd surname and that whole element, instead of sneaking in with jet with what tries to be humor maybe but falls short of such. this show needs to be funnier to be successful in my eyes.
also i know i said this last time but i wanna say it again re: the change in genre. taking this show from a global journey adventure serial and trying to make it a drama is removing a lot of what made atla work so well. there was so much planning and nuance in everything, and it worked bc of the genre it fit into. trying to slice and dice certain elements of a season to fit a not even 8 hr runtime isn't great to begin with, but like. you can make the show more adult-oriented without changing what it is at its core, y'know?
now that there's definitely gonna be a good chunk of next episode also set in omashu, i rly hope there's some nod to haru and that it's not smth they cut entirely. tbh, i said everything connects throughout atla's three seasons, and this rly makes me wonder if they get a s2, what they're planning on doing then. i thought before this came out that if they were gonna cut anything, that i actually didn't care for jet's episode that much, but if you cut out jet, then you get rid of one of the more iconic scenes of s2, if not the whole show, where he's being brainwashed by the dai li. everything connects. the friends you make along the way come back to lend their assistance. i really hope the rest of what they'll do with omashu is decent and not wasted time.

The Flood Thing AU
Im writing this at 2am. SPOILERS, OBV. OKAY SO roles: Im very indecisive so i would love feedback on casting.
Mccready is Chief, but Cortana is also there but may not take the role of an existing character, since she's probably still just an AI.
Childs is Arbiter. Gary is Johnson? Or possibly Captain Keyes? I like the idea of him as Johnson better, BUT... with the end of the movie, and the big disgusting one at the end with him and nauls, i think it could work as keyes. I cant decide
I want to include Rtas for sure, and also Miranda Keyes. but after that I don't really know who else to include since I've stuck to the first 3 games and dont know any more side characters. So feel free to suggest and help me out please!
I'm thinking Rtas as Nauls just cus i like him so much, but Im really not sure it fits. I need the rest of the cast: Blair, Bennings, Norris, Palmer, Copper, Fuchs, Clark, and Windows.
My thoughts during this watch:
Chief trying to play chess with Cortana at the beginning lol
(X and Arbiter) "Chief wants the flame thrower!" "He wants the what?" "Thats what he said!" Very quietly under his breath: "Dammit"
X=unspecified character (doesnt have a role yet)
Mccready wears green i notice... very interesting...
So i mean, aliens obviously exist and have contact with earth in this au already and thats common knowledge. So i think their disbelief comes from the flood thing's powers, and maybe Where in space it originated from, and how it is obviously very sinister.
I havent thought of human and the covenant/cov rebels history yet or why this group is stationed somewhere so cold and im honestly too tired to. So whatever
Do they still dig it up out of the ice, and the humans are in disbelief that aliens made contact with them That long ago? Or did the flood thing land recently? Does some of the distrust of the humans come from thinking the aliens on their team could have something to do with this?
I think a good bit of mccready's dialogue would go to cortana instead of chief
Wait does that say Sexdozer 301
Fuuuck... ive always thought Childs is so fine...
(Chief) "Trust is a hard thing to come by these days."
I love this cus it focuses on Chief and Arbiter's tension for real... they dont trust each other and its so tense. Its great
(X and Arbiter) "What if we're wrong about him?" "Well then we're wrong."
(Chief) "Anyone messes with me and the whole place goes... Go on, burn me... Put the torch on the floor and back off. Way off."
(Arbiter and Chief) "You shall not bind me." "Then I'll have to kill you." "Then kill me."
...... i mean it, i guess you do (i'd exclude these lines tbh, i like it ending with THEN KILL ME... its just more hardcore for them to say nothing and then chief turns around and shoots a dude trying to stab him)
I think arbiter totally would cuss but he does it very under his breath and never wants anyone to hear. Lol. He learned his swear words from the humans but hes hesitant to say them in front of them
(Johnson as Gary) "I know you gentlemen have been through a lot, but when you find the time, I'd rather not spend the rest of this winter TIED TO THIS FUCKING COUCH."
When they go under the tool shed where Blair was, its covered in that disgusting flood stuff, instead of the spaceship. Yick
Also i just think its interesting Blair, as human, was the one most determined to destroy transport and keep everyone there, but then as the thing he's the one building a ship to escape.
Not sure who Nauls would be.. cus whos left at this point would be Thel, Johnson, Chief, and Cortana technically, and nauls. Maybe.. nauls could be cortana? But i was thinking she would still be an AI, cus that just feels better cus its less of a change. So nauls could be someone else. My heart says Rtas just cus i love him so much. But i dont think so. Imagining Rtas on little roller skates jamming out is sending me though
God.. imagining when the flood thing takes over both human and sangheili and cant finish morphing, would be so cool
(Johnson as Gary and Chief, but it also sounds like a convo with Cortana tbh) "Generator's gone." "Any way we can fix it?" "It's gone, Chief."
THE ENDING IS SOOOOO GOOOOD. Childs missing for the whole final act until this point. And meets up with mccready. And the tension. Their impending fate. The mistrust... ive read that childs is definitely infected by the end, but its truly never confirmed WHICH I FUCKING LOVE. Because we, as the audience, are in mccreadys place by that point. We just dont know. We cant trust him.
The drink is really interesting. Two theories ive read, childs is so willing to share the whiskey which is suspicious (but i wonder if it could be interpreted as him accepting his fate?). The other is from a filmmakers art perspective, and that those who are infected throughout the movie have a certain gleam in their eyes, however ive never personally noticed this yet. Next watch i'll look for it.
(Arbiter and Chief) "The fire has the temperature up all over. It won't last long though." "Neither will we." .... "How will we make it?" "... Maybe we shouldn't."

Taglist: in reblog.
Smut below the cut.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"NO IM NOT GOING ! AND YOU CAN FUCK OFF!" You yelled chasing Clark into the living room arms cross and lips pulled into a snarl.
He rolled his eyes at you, you'd been throwing a fit all day.
"Sweetheart, you made a deal, gave him your word... you cant go back on it" he insisted once more trying to convince you.
"Yes I can it was my word! Not yours, I can do what I want!" You huffed blowing some hair out of your face it was hard trying to be serious when your hair seemed to want to stick in your mouth.
"No poppet I'm not letting you break you word , now get dressed we leave in a hour" he said quickly spinning you around pressing you to the bedroom door.
"Fuck you, I'm not going anywhere!" You grunted pulling away from him.
"Tonight love I promise, now go get ready august is expecting us..." he said grinning almost sweetly at you.
"I don't give a flying fuck! I'm not going" you stomped a foot at him finally making his brow twitch, jaw tightening in irritation.
He stood taller and let his frame seem to devour the space on the hall making you shrink, shivering as you watched your sweet fiancé become a great predator. A loin or bear?
"Sweetheart enough! Now go get dressed...I laid out your outfit" he ground out severely finally having enough. A deal was a deal... and he wanted your ass!
"Out fit? What outfit-OH MY GOD WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT!?" You cried entering your room seeing the shear fabric
"That? Its a little body stocking~" Clark said leaning on the door frame arms crossed wearing a huge grin.
"IM NOT WEARING A FUCKING BODYSTOCKING!"
"Well I would if I were you because if not there will be images of your naked ass being flown about on the front pages tomorrow~" he quipped with a smirk.
"Yo-you wouldn't dare!" You said voice loosing its bite as he stared at you.
"Wouldn't I? I mean come on love anal's on the line~" he teased and moved up behind you and slapped your bottom hard enough to make you yip and jerk away.
"Now hop to it... You've got 50 minuets~" he called over his shoulder as he exited the room.
In the end Clarks threat of having you mooney metropolis was too much of a threat and you'd showered and slipped into the body stocking...
But you didn't shave! If they were gonna push through with your whole sex for silence deal then they would live with the consequences! No bare pussy for either of them!
Fuck'em.... or don't? Which was preferable
It wasn't that you didn't enjoy it, it was that you did... a little more then you should have! It frightened you the way you'd enjoyed being used and fought over.
"Oh come on why the long face angel?" August hummed as he opened the glass doors on his rooftop home, the penthouse was shiny sleek and as dark as the man himself.
"Fuck off august!" you grumbled walking right passed him as soon as Clark put you down
"Oh such a foul mouth! We will have to teach you some manners~" the agent quipped as you entered the bare but masculine space, everything was harsh lines and fucked up art pieces of splotching blocky shades of black, red and deep violet.
"Yes she's very snippy today... has been all week, pouting" Clark huffed shrugging. Taking the offered crystal glass with amber liquid.
"Ah we have a brat on our hands then?" August chuckled and walked through the home quickly snagging one of your elbows and directed you to the playroom, not wasting any time.
"Yeah, she doesn't want me to fuck her ass" Clark summarized with a shrug.
"Aww Why not sweety? You loved me fucking your ass? You cried and withered moaning so beautifully~" august hummed into your ear as he pressed you over the threshold into a large windowless room, strip lighting igniting the room in a light red. The devils den so to speak.
"Sh-shut up you prick" you snarled.
Augusts reply was a tsk and he pressed you over to a padded sawhorse and looked to Clark nodding to the ankle and wrist cuffs.
Clark breezed past him quickly securing you down making you curse him, but by this point it was a formality as you had already soaked yourself through.
"Oh would you look at that? Our little brat is eager~" august said with a chuckle and a warm hand probed you lightly making you jolt and try to squirm away.
"Yes I know, she likes denying herself, its strange she knows we will win but Continues to fight?" He said coming around your side ghosting his fingers over your ribs making you shudder.
"Well lets not waste time shall we? I have a few things out ready but first lets get this fitted shall we?" August said menacingly walking around you brandishing a very large O ring gag.
"After all if she's going to throw a tantrum I don't trust her not to bite" he uttered moving towards you.
"I've never thought of using one of those before... it wont hurt her will it?"
"Only her pride Clark trust me even she needs a... dressing down every once in a while" august reassured him.
Your eyes grew wide as the agent approached with the large gag that looked both threatening and enticing, things had been kinky with august but you hadn't ever gone this far into bdsm before. You were scared and still fighting but not as hard? You were curious and being dominated by them last week had... changed you. It had been thrilling to be so out of control.
"Should we... give her a signal or something? Incase it gets to much?" Clark quizzed, he was still all for it but wanted to be mindful of you. He didn't want to hurt you.
"Trust me she's going to love it, but in the case of something going wrong" august directed his attention to you befo4e continuing.
"There is a small desk bell one the inside of the left leg on the saw horse... if thing get too much hit it three times fast and we will get you down" he said seriously.
You frowned as his gaze bored into you, for a second you believed you saw actual concern in his eyes.
It unsettled you, August couldn't really have any feelings towards you could he? I mean this was blackmail!
You nodded quickly to him letting him know you understood.
Then just like that August was haughty again and quickly fixed the gag in your mouth, setting your teeth in the small grooves that was semi comfortable.
"Shes ready when you are~" the agent hummed and stood back.
Clark darted behind you and helped himself to you and august disappeared from sight.
You moaned into the room as your fiancé roamed your folds as if exploring them for the first time.
He was rougher then usual prodding and impaling you fast and hard before slowing and drawing your own arousal over your presented ass.
You withered as Clark used you body, pressing you higher and higher making you teeter on then edge then back away letting you calm down only to work you up again.
"I thought we could... try something... a little bonus for all of us tonight~" you heard august but couldn't see him.
"I'm listening" Clark said as he plunged his fingers back into you harder throwing off your concentration making you cry out.
"I have this" you tried seeing what August had but was too preoccupied with the maddening strokes of clark's fingers as he pounded away at your g-spot forcing you to try and rock on him chasing a high he had already cruely denied you twice.
"What even is that thing?" Cark said not paying attention to you as your body twisted and pulled trying to cum like a desperate whore.
"Here ill show you~" august said and Clarks fingers disappeared from you making you cry out and moan, your pussy tried holding him but it was to drenched to actually grip him.
Then something was pressed into you, large wide and very short.
"Oh-oh fuck?!AH!" You yelped  awkwardly around the gag as the toy settled, curved forward and down pressing on your gspot without being held. There was a large flat expanse resting outside of you to, the toy curved in a large C shape.
"Does that go up her?"
"No no, we just pop her little clit in here~ and press the button!" You jerked as august moved you, thick fingers prodding your clit and sat the engorged nub into a small round dip and pressed a button.
You squealed tensing all at once as you felt a suction on your clit and roared.
"Holy shit?" Clark said in awe watching as you keened and tried throwing you weight around on the toy that was held in place by your muscles clenching to it so tightly... It was bittersweet in a way, your own body holding the sweet torturous device on your clit.
"And it gets better, press that one" you hear a small click and arched moaning out as the egg like shape inside of you came to life vibrating against your insides.
Clark watched entranced as you withered this is what he'd been missing out on? Fuck!
August darted around you and strokes you hair watching as Clark stripped behind you unable to wait any longer as you thrashed about trying to rock into the toy.
"Shh shh thats a girl, now deep breath your wonderboy may be a little too enthusiastic if your doing all that squirming~"
You froze feeling Clark poise himself at your well lubed ass then grunted as he thrust forward splitting you open.
Clark hissed and moaned loudly as the vibrating egg not only made you quiver and tense around him already threatening to flood the place but it also rubbed his cock as he rutted you.
"Oh fuck- thats amazing! I cant- I shit babe!?" Clark didn't wait he immediately began pounding in to the tight quivering body before him.
August chuckled once more before releasing his own belt buckle. Not wanting to let your wails and monas go to waste.
They would work wonders on his cock, offering the sweetest of releases as you screamed onto his cock as he lodged it into your throat.
August was never into men, but he could develop a thing for corrupting this huge perfect man.
For now August would let you and Clark think you were in control of the deal. Let this one final night play out.
But the seed was sewn and before long he knew Superman would return wanting to explore more and more of this little sex dungeon. And then he will strike another deal.
Because August wasn't opposed to making a little compromise to get decent pussy. If he had to share with Supes so be it, it looked like he could teach the kid a thing or two and he would gladly, because he had many more toys to tease you both with~
If things went to plan he'd have not one but two desperate little subs. And he couldn't wait!

I don't want it seem like I'm saying that she doesn't do anything wrong I know she does 100% I know she does.
I just get tired of people acting like she's the only one that's flawed and I'm not saying that you do it I'm just saying there's a lot of people who acts like that that's why a lot of times I feel like I shouldn't say I like JJ because I've been yelled at for liking her and I actually been threatened before for saying that I liked her.
I mean she acts out a lot but she actually does care. There was quite a few times she knew that Penelope was stressing out so she talked with her and was really gentle with her I mean yeah I guess she could be a hard bitch but she does have a little bit of a heart.
I mean without hesitation she killed Jason Clark battle to save her family. That's exactly what she said too she done it save her family
"I didn't even blink you do what it takes to protect family.''
i think the difference—for me at least—is that because of who the characters are, they have reasons for acting out when they do. a distressed penelope is a perfect example of this akdhskdh
someone brought up morgan giving her shit for feeling guilty. a shitty thing ti do, for sure, especially cutting her off when she needed someone to talk to. but morgan does it bc he cares ab her and doesnt understand why she’s so worked up over this. he’s frustrated that she’s dwelling on it, hurting herself, and doesnt want to encourage it by indulging in her spiraling
i’d like to bring up another instance of ~distressed penelope~ after 300 (i think?) when she’s struggling w ptsd. everyone can tell she’s off and try to help, but what pissed me off was jj patronizing her for bottling it up, “you know thats not how it works, right?” even tho she went through the same shit before and had her own issues bottling up her trauma, she treats garcia like she’s an idiot (even tho garcia has wayyy less field experience than the others so obviously this kind of stuff would hit her harder)
they were both wrong and both mean to her in their own ways, but their intentions were drastically different. morgan does it bc he’s worried ab her. jj does it bc she’s annoyed. she just seems so superficial every time she tries to be nice/supportive. its either out of pity (hotch in 100) or it feels fake bc she’s rolling her eyes at every opportunity. i just… dont like those kind of people lol
sure everyone else has flaws, but it feels like their reasons are more legitimate. and if she’s mean most of the time AND she acts out…. yeah thats just not someone i wanna be around lmao at least the others are nice. making fun of garcia’s “quirks” or talking shit ab reid w anyone who will listen… if thats how she treats her friends, then i dont understand why anyone would want to be around her. she’s not the only one who’s flawed, but she’s the only one without any redeeming qualities. treating everyone like shit then saying a loving statement every blue moon just doesnt seem genuine and i wouldnt have the patience for that.
akdhskhd we have had DRASTICALLY different experiences in the cm fandom. this is the first ive heard of someone who likes jj getting hate bc i feel like the majority of people like her. ive seen very very few posts of people criticizing her but i see people who love her all the time (or worse—ship her w one of my favs skdhkshd). its hard to find someone who agrees w my opinion… even ppl who r jj critical still praise her #whitefeminism #girlboss moments when really i cant stand a single second she’s on screen

ALICIA CLARK — back then.
fluff/angst !!
summary: reader and alicia reminisce on the past.
no pronouns for reader mentioned.
era: pre-ginny era ig? various.
author note: i havent watched the early seasons of fear in ages, so pls excuse any mistakes.
requested by @kloy344
warnings !! alicia clark. thats it.
Tumblr media
she was your wife.
you couldn’t believe it. your wife.
looking at her now, her skin glowing, bathing in the early morning sunlight. her soft snores, her messy brown hair, her full lips, just her.
the woman you were completely enamoured by.
back then, you hadn’t thought she was much at all, never wouldve thought you’d be here now.
back then, she was an enemy, and now you were in the enemy’s bed. except now, the enemy was your wife; ‘previous enemy’
you met in mexico, when strand had come to reunite with his love, your uncle.
she had ignored you as much as possible, and you were suspicious of her. nick was sweet, but you were intrigued by his sister.
you thought, ‘maybe she’s just shy.’ but oh, how wrong you were. alicia absolutely hated your guts, and in return, you hated hers.
you never understood why, and little did you know it’d take another two years to find out.
when the villa burnt down, strand brought you along with him. you were grateful of course, but not for the close proximity with alicia. madison constantly tried to get you two to get along, but to no avail.
her daughter was just too stubborn.
and to be fair, so were you.
from clearing the hotel out together, to saving her from falling down an elevator shoot, she didn’t say one nice thing to you.
just things like ;
“i had it!”
“i didn’t need your help.”
the first time she didn’t physically recoil from your presence, was after she heard her step brother, chris manawa, died. she may not have acted like she cared much, but you knew, she did so much more than she let on.
you found her standing on a balcony in the hotel, overlooking the ocean. you stood next to her, just letting her be aware that she wasn’t alone.
she even looked at you when you placed your hand over hers.
that was the night before everything went wrong.
the relief you felt as you saw alicia hobbling along the dusty path, with luciana on her shoulder, was unmatched. you had been scared to death that she might not’ve made it in the helicopter, but she did, somehow.
the missing presence of travis was noticed shortly after.
troy otto was certainly something else. he was attached to your hip, fascinated by you.
you weren’t interested in him, but alicia didn’t know that.
you wish she did.
the holes being burnt into troy’s back out of alicia’s jealousy was quickly noticed by the younger otto brother, and soon a game started.
alicia would try to make you jealous with jake, as much as she thought you were doing the same with troy.
the two boys were happy to be used.
it never resolved anything between you and alicia.
just lots more hidden feelings, buried deep down.
finding the stadium though, finally led to an improvement in your relationship. alicia started shamelessly glancing at you, not caring if you caught her.
it all built up.
nick knew what was going on, nick told luciana. madison guessed too, and told strand. the next thing you knew, you were on watch together.
to alicia, the silence was unbearable, all she wanted to do was make up for lost time, she wanted to know everything about you, every little detail.
“i’m sorry”
“what for?”
“everything, i never hated you, you didn’t deserve that”
“well, i only hated you because i thought you hated me.”
that made the two of you laugh, the night swallowing it up.
from that night onwards, the nightwatch happened even more. especially after alicia begged her mother for more shifts with you.
with that, your relationship improved. and with that, your crush grew.
the night before the vultures came, was the night she kissed you.
the sun was setting, and she was getting impatient. alicia wanted all of you, she wanted you to know how much she wanted you.
kisses grew to more touching, and eventually you ended up in bed with her.
the following week, everything came crashing down. madison was gone, and alicia and nick, in their grief had been mostly inconsolable.
until you met morgan and his group, alicia didnt speak a word to you, and not much else to the others.
then nick was killed, by charlie. someone you had trusted, someone who nick had trusted.
you held alicia as she sobbed over her brothers body.
when you reunited with her after the storm, you were surprised to see charlie too. it was clear alicia would protect her, and it made you happy that she was feeling better.
you stayed with her, through her grief and her journey back to find herself, loving her more and more each day.
she loved you too, so much.

Away in D.C
Pairings: Ethan Ramsey x Victoria Clarke
Word count: 3.7k
Summary: Ethan has to leave for a medical conference and the family learn to deal with it.
Rating: General Audiences
Category: angst, fluff
Tumblr media
He ended the call and put his phone down, running a hand over his face.
It was confirmed he was needed in Washington D.C for a 4 day medical conference.
“Confirmation?” Victoria said from her spot on the bed.
Ethan looked at her. “Yes, 4 days in Washington.”
Victoria gave him a small smile as she moved closer to him and wrapped her arms around him. “We’ll be okay. You’ve had to do this before.”
“That was when they were really small. They’ll remember this one.” Ethan replied.
“It’ll be ok. I’m here and I’ll make sure they have the best time whilst your away.” Victoria said leaning in to kiss Ethan’s neck.
“I really don’t want to go though.” Ethan sighed.
“I know you don’t baby. But you have too. It’ll be over before you know it.” Victoria said.
The older the twins got, the harder it was to leave them. The last time Ethan had to go away for a conference, the twins weren’t old enough to remember. Now they were at an age where they would realise Ethan wasn’t around and it would hit them hard.
“Come on, let’s go tell them.” Victoria said getting up, gently grabbing Ethan’s hand pulling him up. The two made their way downstairs where their two young children were playing with their toys.
“Hi Mommy, Daddy.” Luke smiled up at them. Lily was concentrating on her Barbie dolls.
“We’ve got something we need to tell you. And you’ve got to be very grown up about it.” Victoria said sitting down and pulling Luke into her lap, Ethan did the same with Lily.
“What’s wrong?” Luke asked, noticing a change in mood.
“I’ve got to go away for a few days. I have something really important to do.” Ethan said.
The twins looked between Ethan and Victoria, Lily cuddling against Ethan the more she looked at him.
“Is it to do with work?” Luke asked.
“That’s right. But I’ll be home before you know it.” Ethan said.
“And I’ll be here to make sure you’re both okay. We’ll have the best weekend ever.” Victoria replied.
Luke smiled although Victoria could tell he was forcing it but Lily seemed to be taking it the hardest. She buried her face into Ethan’s shoulder, his arms tightening around her tiny waist, holding her close.
Victoria could sense that Ethan would talk to Lily so she turned to Luke. “How about we go find Jenner?” She suggested. Luke jumped up at that and raced into the kitchen. As Victoria followed him, she briefly looked back and could hear soft sobs coming from Lily.
“I found Jenner!” Luke exclaimed as the golden retriever licked his face making him giggle.
“Thats great. Mommy needs to ask you something.” Victoria picked him up and sat him at the kitchen table. “Are you okay with Daddy going away? It’s okay if you’re not, Mommy’s here to help you.”
“I know he’ll be back. Daddy always comes back.” Luke said, pretending to race his car along the kitchen table.
“It’s great that you think that. Lily’s a bit upset by it all so you’ll have to be extra nice to her and we can both cheer her up. I know! Shall we make a list of things to do this weekend and then we can tell Daddy all about them when he comes home?” Victoria suggested.
“Yeah!’ Luke grinned. Victoria grabbed a notepad.
“How about we have a pyjama day on Saturday? We can watch all your favourite tv shows and films?”
“Yeah! And can we have pizza?”
“Why not? How about ice cream as well? And on Sunday I’ll cook you your favourite meal.” Victoria said.
“Yes spaghetti!”
Victoria laughed as she made notes, this also included time on their climbing frame in the garden and going to the park as well as endless amounts of cuddles.
“Mommy will Lily be ok?” Luke asked.
“She’ll be fine. She’s just a little sad that Daddy’s going away but he won’t be long.”
Back in the living room, Ethan was comforting Lily who was holding onto him as if she didn’t want to let go.
“I don’t want to go away either Lil. But Mommy’s here and she’ll look after you.” Ethan forced Lily to look at him.
“I don’t like it when you’re not here.” Lily said.
“I don’t either sweetpea. But sometimes we have to do things we don’t really want to do.” Ethan replied stroking Lily’s hair.
“Like when Mommy makes me eat vegetables?”
“Yes exactly like that.” Ethan chuckled. “I’m gonna miss you too, but we can FaceTime with Luke and Mommy every evening. Does that sound okay?”
Lily nodded, a smile forming on her face. “When do you go?”
“I leave tomorrow night and come back Monday evening. I promise you the time will go very quickly. How about we do something tomorrow before I leave? Just you, your brother and me?” Ethan suggested.
“What about Mommy?”
“I already asked Mommy and she said it was a great idea.” Ethan smiled. Truth be told, Ethan knew Victoria would say yes because it would mean her having time to herself.
“Okay.” Lily smiled throwing her arms around Ethan who hugged her just as tightly back.
“Shall we go and see what Luke and Mommy are up to?” Ethan asked.
“Okay.” Lily replied. She hopped off Ethan’s lap and headed to the kitchen, Ethan following shortly behind her.
— — — — —
Ethan made his way down the stairs, luggage in hand and set it down by the front door. It was pitch black, the outside being lit by the street lights.
“Are you sure you don’t want me to drop you off at the airport?” Victoria asked coming out of the living room.
“No it will just make the goodbye even harder.” Ethan sighed wrapping his arms around Victoria.
“Try not to have too much fun.” Victoria smiled leaning against his chest.
“Impossible without you.” Ethan chuckled slightly leaning down to press a heated kiss to Victoria’s lips.
“Text me when you land.”
“Of course. I better get going.”
As if on cue, the kids ran into the hallway, throwing their arms around Ethan as he bent down to hug them.
“I’ll miss you both so much, promise me you’ll be good for Mommy?” Ethan looked at the twins.
“We will. Promise you’ll think about us?” Lily looked at Ethan, green eyes staring into blue.
“All the time, I promise.” Ethan smiled. Ethan gave the twins one last big hug before standing up and opening the door. “I’ll see you all in a few days.” Ethan headed out the door.
“Bye!” The twins and Victoria chorused before they shut the door.
“Go to the window and wave to Daddy.” Victoria instructed. The twins ran into the living room and climbed onto the sofa waving as the taxi pulled out the driveway and round the corner.
Once the car was out of sight Luke went back to his racing car whilst Lily flopped down onto the sofa and cuddled her teddy.
“Come on, let’s get you into bed.” Victoria picked Lily up who rested her head on her shoulder.
“Mommy pick me up too!” Luke said holding his arms up. Laughing, Victoria picked him up and carried them up the stairs.
It didn’t take the twins long to get ready for bed. As they were brushing their teeth, Lily asked “Mommy can I sleep in your bed tonight?”
“Is your bed not comfy enough?” Victoria knelt down so she was eye level with her daughter.
“It is. But Luke and I don’t want you to be lonely.” Lily sighed.
“We don’t?” Luke said, a mouth full of toothpaste. Lily nudged him, silently urging him to play along. “I mean yes we don’t!”
“That’s very sweet of you. And I don’t see why not.” Victoria smiled.
The twins grinned as they finished brushing their teeth and made their way to Ethan and Victoria’s bedroom.
“Did you both enjoy your day at the petting zoo with Daddy?” Victoria asked as she tucked the twins into Ethan’s side of the bed.
“Yeah we saw lots of animals.” Luke said.
“He even bought us something from the gift shop.” Lily replied.
Victoria smiled as she listened to their stories of today. It wasn’t long before both of the twins began to drift off to sleep and with a final kiss on each of their foreheads, she quietly crept out the room.
Victoria tidied up the living room and turned on the TV. She watched a few episodes of a new crime drama that was airing, until she felt exhaustion creeping up on her a few hours later and decided to go to bed.
Victoria slipped on her pyjamas and brushed her teeth before quietly making her way into her bedroom. Her heart swelled at her two young children cuddled up against each other fast asleep.
As Victoria hit the pillow, her phone lit up with a notification.
Landed safely, speak to you tomorrow x
Smiling, Victoria fell asleep.
— — — — —
The early morning sunrise woke Victoria up the next morning. Luke and Lily were still fast asleep as Victoria quietly got dressed. When she went back into her bedroom she gently roused the twins from their sleep.
“No Mommy I’m not awake.” Lily pulled the duvet over her and Luke.
“Sounds like you are to me.” Victoria chuckled.
“It’s too early.” Luke whined.
“Okay, I guess I’ll just eat all the pancakes.” Victoria pretended to walk away.
“No I’m up, I’m up!” Lily jumped out of bed and ran to Victoria, Luke not far behind her.
“Okay then let’s go make some pancakes. Do you want to hold my hand?”
“No we’re big now we can do it ourselves!” Luke replied.
The three made their way downstairs to the kitchen, Jenner jumped up and licked the twins’ faces making them giggle.
“Mommy can we have blueberries with them?” Lily asked.
“Of course you can.” Victoria smiled.
“Daddy let’s us have syrup as well.” Luke said.
“Luke! That was meant to be a secret!” Lily cried.
“Does he? Well I’ll be having words with Daddy.” Victoria pretended to be stern.
“Don’t be angry with Daddy Mommy. He was being kind.” Lily looked up at Victoria.
Victoria crouched down so she was at her height. “I can’t stay mad at Daddy for too long.”
The twins giggled and Victoria dished them up their pancakes, which they ate at lightning speed.
“Can we go watch a film now?” Luke asked.
“No Luke we have to get dressed and brush our teeth, right Mommy?” Lily sternly told Luke.
“Actually Mommy has decided we can have a pyjama day today, but you do need to brush your teeth.” Victoria said.
The twins raced upstairs and quickly brushed their teeth before they hurried back downstairs.
“What film do you want to watch?” Victoria asked.
“The Lion King!” The twins excitedly said. Victoria chuckled as she put the DVD into the player.
Victoria sat in-between the kids who snuggled up against her. As the film played, Victoria phone pinged, it was a message from Ethan.
How are you doing?
Smiling Victoria replied all okay, watching the Lion King for the millionth time.
I usually watch that with them, guess they’re missing me.
They’re not the only ones.
“Who are you texting Mommy?” Luke asked noticing Victoria was looking at her phone.
“Daddy. He wants to know if you two are ok.”
“We are! But tell him I miss him.” Lily said.
“I will sweetheart.”
The twins continued watching the film as Victoria text Ethan. Has the conference started?
It didn’t take long for a reply. In 5 minutes, are the kids behaving?
Victoria laughed a little as she text back. They are, and they miss you a lot.
The three little dots appeared at the bottom of the screen before Ethan’s message popped up. I miss them too. And you as well.
Victoria’s heart swelled at the comment. She knew Ethan wouldn’t be away for long but she missed him terribly nonetheless.
Luke and Lily continued to cuddle up against Victorias side as the film played out. The last time Ethan went away they weren’t old enough to realise but Victoria definitely noticed a change in mood between them and the minute Ethan walked through the front door, their tiny faces lit up.
Victoria knew they would have the same reaction when they reunited with Ethan on Monday.
— — — — —
Sunday soon rolled around and Victoria was currently reading a medical journal as Luke and Lily played with their toys.
“Make way for Captain Destroyer as he captures the Barbie palace!” Luke enthusiastically said as he crashed his action man into Lily’s Barbie palace.
“No! My Barbies! What did they do?” Lily hugged her Barbies to her chest to protect them.
“They’re mine now!” Luke went to grab them.
“No! Mommy!” Lily looked at Victoria.
“Luke leave her alone.” Victoria looked up from her book.
“But-“
“I’d think carefully about what you’re about to say.” Victoria said sternly.
Luke huffed and threw his toy onto the floor. “I’m bored.”
“I know. How about we build a fort? I used to make them all the time with Uncle Will and Auntie Sarah.”
“Yeah!” The twins jumped up.
“Okay. The first essential for a great fort is blankets. Can you go find some for me?” Victoria asked.
The twins eagerly ran out the room and up the stairs as Victoria took some of the cushions from the sofa and moved some of the furniture so it was closer together. The last time she has made a fort was when she was a kid. She had forgotten how fun it was.
“We’ve got them!” Lily said running back into the living room.
“Where’s Luke?” Victoria asked, noticing the young boy wasn’t with his sister.
“I’m under here!” A muffled voice said. Victoria pulled the blankets off him chuckling.
“Why don’t you put them under there and I’ll grab some fairy lights.”
Victoria headed upstairs to one of the spare bedrooms and found some old battery operated fairy lights. She brought them downstairs and hung them around the fort so there was more light.
“Wow it looks so cool!” Lily said looking round.
“Are these the kind of forts you built with Uncle Will and Auntie Sarah Mommy?” Luke asked.
“Yes. We used to build forts all the time as kids. Although Uncle Will didn’t like it when we brought lots of pink things in there.” Victoria laughed.
“Have you and Daddy ever made a fort together?” Lily asked.
“Ah well, I’ve always tried to persuade Daddy but so far I haven’t been able to. Maybe the three of us can persuade him one day.”
“How did you and Daddy meet Mommy?” Luke said cuddling up against Victorias side, Lily doing the same.
“I met him when I first started working. Although he didn’t really like me at first.” Victoria put her arms around her children.
“Why not?”
“He thought I was annoying and I thought he was very grumpy.” Victoria said which made them giggle.
“But Daddy is always so funny.” Luke said looking bewildered as if his Dad could be anything but fun.
“That’s because you two are his angels and he always saves his best features for us three.” Victoria tickled them making them laugh. “I know. Shall we take a picture and send it to Daddy?”
“Yeah!”
Victoria grabbed her phone and held it up. “Say cheese!”
“Cheese!” The twins grinned.
Victoria looked at the photo. “What do you think?”
“Great!” The twins beamed. Victoria sent the photo.
“How about I get started making the spaghetti?”
“Yes!”
Victoria chuckled as she headed out into the kitchen, As she put a pan of water on to boil her phone lit up with a notification.
Wishing I was with you x
— — — — —
Much later on in the day, the twins were fed and bathed and were in their pyjamas watching TV.
“Look who’s calling.” Victoria said holding her phone up in front of the twins. Their eyes lit up when they saw Ethans name.
“Daddy!” They cried when Victoria accepted the call and Ethan’s face popped up on the screen.
“Hi guys! How are you?” Ethan smiled.
“We’re good. Mommy helped us build a fort and then we ate spaghetti!” Luke said.
“I see. And how is Mommy?” Ethan chuckled.
“Mommy’s fine.” Victoria smiled.
“We miss you Daddy.” Lily said in a quiet voice as she cuddled her teddy.
“I miss you too sweetheart. I wish I was with you.” Ethan smiled.
“You’ll see Daddy tomorrow night Lil.” Victoria cuddled her.
“Daddy are you having a good time?” Luke asked.
Ethan laughed at that. “As good as can be.” He then went on to explain everything he had been doing even though Victoria could tell he was exaggerating. However, that didn’t matter when she saw the excited look on her children’s faces.
Victoria could tell the twins were getting tired so she suggested ending the call, promising them Daddy would be home tomorrow night. She carried them to bed, gently kissing them on their foreheads.
“Wait.” Luke suddenly said as Victoria was about to shut his bedroom door. She watched him get out of bed and head to his dresser and pull out a framed photo. On closer inspection, she realised it was a framed photo of them as a family.
“Why have you got that?” Victoria asked.
“So I don’t miss Daddy too much. And so he doesn’t get lonely.” Luke snuggled against the picture.
Victoria’s throat became thick with emotion and she felt tears forming in her eyes. Blinking them away she quietly crept out the room and once she shut the door, she let the tears fall.
It was remarkable to see how grown up the twins were. Naturally they were sad, Victoria wasn’t expecting anything less and some of the time, she knew the smiles were hiding that they were missing Ethan. But they had been so mature over the last few days and Victoria was proud of them.
She knew she was raising them well.
— — — — —
After another day of parks, food and endless amount of cuddles, Victoria, Luke and Lily were in the car on their way to the airport to pick up Ethan. Ethan’s flight got in at 8 and Victoria made sure she left with enough time to spare. The twins were in their pyjamas, Victoria deciding they could win that battle but were wrapped up in their coats.
Luke and Lily were so excited that Ethan was coming home today. In the morning, they went out and bought some of Ethan’s favourite foods, the twins made him a welcome home card for him to see when they arrived back. They managed to tire themselves out at the park in the afternoon, Luke even went down for a nap but Lily refused (‘If I fall asleep Mommy I’ll miss seeing Daddy so I have to stay awake.’)
5 minutes before they arrived at the airport, Lily had begun to doze off.
“Go to sleep Lil.” Victoria said as she pulled into the airport carpark.
“But Daddy…” Lily yawned as she shut her eyes.
“Will be here when you wake up.” Victoria said smiling at her. She pulled into an empty space and got out the car, heading to Luke’s side first helping him out of the car then gently lifting Lily out of the car, pulling her close as the little girl laid her head on her mothers shoulder.
“Can we go now Mommy?” Luke asked tugging on her hand.
“Yes, hold my hand.” Victoria said, Luke obeyed immediately.
The family walked through the airport, heading to the board where the arrivals were updated.
“Can you see Daddy’s plane number?” Victoria asked Luke as the young boy looked up at the board.
“No. Where is it?” Luke said.
“I can. It says it’s arrived.” Victoria pointed up at the screen.
“Does that mean Daddy’s home?” Luke’s eyes lit up.
“Yes sweetheart Daddy’s home.” Victoria smiled.
The family moved towards where the arrivals would filter out. The automatic doors kept opening and closing, passengers reuniting with loved ones.
“He’s not coming!” Luke said looking up at Victoria.
“He will, you just need to be patient.” Victoria ruffled his hair, glancing at Lily who was still fast asleep in her arms.
More and more people walked out until Victoria saw the one face she had been waiting for. Luke had seen him too.
“Daddy!” Luke ran to Ethan, the latter knelt down to greet his son, pulling him into a tight hug. Victoria couldn’t make out what they were saying to each other but her heart swelled at the reunion.
Holding Luke’s hand in one and pulling his suitcase in the other, Ethan made his way over to Victoria.
“Someone tried desperately to stay awake all day but inevitably fell asleep.” Victoria chuckled gesturing to the sleeping Lily.
“I don’t mind She’ll have the best reaction when she wakes up.” Ethan smiled pressing a short kiss to Lily’s head then pressed his lips to Victoria’s.
“Good to be home?”
“Definitely.” Ethan replied. He picked Luke up and with suitcase in hand, the family made their way out of the airport. “Pass me the keys.” Ethan said once they had reached the car.
“Are you sure? I don’t mind driving.” Victoria asked.
“I want to. It’s the least I can do.” Ethan smiled.
Victoria didn’t argue with that. She put Lily in her carseat then climbed into the front. Ethan’s hand found hers, lacing their fingers together.
“So tell me. How boring was the conference?” Victoria grinned as Ethan found the interstate.
“Almost as boring as all the other ones. I certainly won’t be going to anymore anytime soon.” Ethan chuckled.
“I’m glad. We’ve missed you. They’ve been good as gold though.” Victoria smiled as she looked behind her. Luke had also fallen asleep.
“I knew they would. And it wouldn’t be a trip away if I didn’t have a present to bring back.”
“Another piece of memorabilia.”
“Of course.” Ethan laughed. “It’s good to be home though. My place is right here.” Ethan squeezed Victoria’s hand.
Smiling, Victoria relaxed back in her seat as Ethan drove their family back home where they belonged.

BITING AND CHEWING YOU. THANKYOU
this probably makes no sense. ok. im insane. that's also why im just going for the original movie rather than prequel or spinoff media
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most): Nauls my best friend Nauls. hes truly the best character hes fucking GREAT. unfortunately at first his character was a little bit of a stereotype but further on in the movie he developed quite a bit and showed off the rest of his personality and thats really what got me attached. wonderful guy
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped): You see. they are all grown men experiencing horrible atrocities. I cannot call one a skrunkly. It'd feel silly. However I do have a character that elicits this reaction. Fucking. PALMER. the stoner guy. I explode him. he barely fits the term I just see him and want to beat him to death in a positive way. yknow.
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave): Fuchs. hes a biologist i love him. grabs him tears him apart . hes very intelligent, reminds me of Fugo and thats mostly why I put him in this category. he should be appreciated more. he saved their asses atleast 3 different ways. and also his name means fox. smiles
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week): Clark. heart. hes barely present in the movie alot of the time but truly hes great. hes the dog handler how can you not love him. very interesting guy . and also I want his hat
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave): Windows. God hes the worst hes such a coward i want to vivisect him. truly interesting character though, not necessarily anything WRONG with him hes just the radio guy, but he is quite a pathetic sopping man. dies sopping, actually. just soaked in so much blood
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason): MacReady. I think hes great this isnt about hatred. hes just quite interesting and the ways he fights for his life (eg threatening to blow everybody up if they dont comply with him and do the blood test) are lovely. fight for your life more sir. putting him in a boxing ring against the thing with nothing but a knife
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell): blair. die.

The Fierce And Broken
2.04
Masterlist
“You found me then.”
Murphy nodded and sunk down to the ground next to you. It had seemed like a good idea to hide out in the library, it was closed off and you assumed nobody would look for you there. But you had forgotten that nobody knew you the way John Murphy does.
Murphy frowned seeing you so upset. “What’s going on Alba? You have been acting strange for weeks.”
You shook your head and wiped away fallen tears as he contained to stare. You took a couple deep breaths before finally being able to speak, “it’s nothing...I’m just being stupid.”
“You’re not stupid Al, and thats the problem.” Murphy put his arm around your shoulder, “who’s ass do I need to kick for this?”
His comment made you chuckle, “no one.” You wiped away more tears before smiling into his hug. “I just feel so tired always pretending, you know? And I don’t know how to make it right. I just feel broken.”
Murphy brushed a strand of hair out of your face, you could see the look of concern on his face. “What do you mean by broken?”
“I just-” You struggled to find the words to express how you were feeling. “I look at girls John.”
“So?” He scoffed, obviously not understanding what you were getting at.
“No I mean I look at girls. I look at them the same way I should look at boys...” Pausing you thought about your next choice of words, “I like girls.”
Murphy placed a soft kiss to your cheek he had been stroking a moment previously. “Yeah girls are pretty hot.”
You smiled into his embrace. John was the only person you had worried about treating you differently when you realised that you had started to get crushed on girls, but the truth was he didn’t care. And you’d never been so grateful he was your friend.
You woke to the sounds of a woman yelling, “I need a saline and a pressure dressing. I’m going to need to check her hip bones in a moment.”
“I’m on it.”
You blinked as your eyes adjusted to the harsh light of the room. Doctor Griffin was leaning over you, she smiled when she noticed you waking up. “You gave us quite a scare, I’m glad to see you awake Y/N.”
“Where am I?” You asked groggily.
“Camp Jaha,” another voice said.
Facing the doorway you could see Octavia smiling as walked towards you, with her arms stretching out. She pulled you into a tight hug. “You had me so worried Al! I thought you had died.”
You held onto her tightly, “me? I thought the blast from the rocket had got you.” Pulling back from the hug you whined at the sharp pain in your arm. “Oh Jesus, I did forget about the pain.”
“Careful, you’ll end up pulling your IV out.” Jackson said, before explaining he needed to dress a deeper cut on your back. You nodded for him to start and don’t your best not to cry as the feeling of nippiness started to spread across your bare skin.
Octavia squeezed your hand. “Clarke told us what happened. The mountain men...how they are taking bone marrow and blood from us and grounders, from you.”
“Some of our people are still in there.” You paused for a moment to try and think about what else happened, “Anya is dead. She was going to set up a meeting with us and her commander, but she’s gone.”
Octavia kneeled down to your level. “Hey, we still have a chance.” She squeezed your hands again, “you have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to come in and see you. I know Murphy will be thrilled when he knows you are awake.”
“Murphy?” You asked confused, after hanging Bellamy and shooting Raven you thought he would have been banished again. God, Raven. “Murphy is still in camp? And Raven’s alive?”
“He sure is, and Raven is alive and waiting to see you.” Once Jackson was finished Octavia leaned in closer to you, “I’m glad I caught you before I left.”
“Where are you going?”
Octavia watched to make sure nobody else was paying attention to your conversation. “Raven is turning the electric fence off so me Bellamy, and Clarke can leave-” she stopped talking when Abby walked back into the room. “Murphy and Finn are actually out looking for our people now.”
You played along so Abby wouldn’t grow suspicious. Octavia shared a knowing look with you, the thought of her going out into the wild scared but you knew Bellamy would keep her safe. You mouthed ‘be careful’ before she left.
“So,” Abby said, stepping in front of you with a smile. “We are going to look at your hip once Jackson is back, I’ll need to check for any signs of infection. I’m honestly surprised you managed to walk that far considering what was done to you.”
“Clarke helped,” you shrugged. A look of pride spread across the older woman's face. Clarke wasn’t your favourite person but she did save you from drowning, “Anya also helped. She saved me and Clarke a couple of times...what they are doing to the grounders is worse than what’s happening to us, to me. It’s barbaric.”
Abby gave you a sympathetic smile as Jackson entered the room. You dropped the subject and leaned back into the table.
Groaning you sat up, your original plan was to go look for your friends but between the pain and sleep deprivation you had nodded off. Sighing you looked around the room for your clothes but couldn’t see them. The gown you were wearing wasn’t exactly practical.
Opening the door to the hallway you looked around for anybody that could help but it was empty. Hearing footsteps you decided to walk in that direction when you heard Abby’s voice.
“Did you know about this?”
“No.”
You recognised the other voice instantly and smiled. It was Raven.
“Tell me where they went and you won't be in trouble.” The aggression in Abby's voice surprised you, she had always been so nice when you had previously met her.
“Abby, I...”
“Someone let them through the fence. Someone gave them guns.”
Oh shit. It’s finally clicked, Abby knows Raven helped her daughter and the others escape. You walked as fast your body allowed you to before finding the door to the room they were in. You caught your breath before opening the door.
“I don’t know what you’re talk-”
You let out a gasp as you opened the door and saw Abby slapping Raven across the face. What the fuck. Abby stepped back from the brunette, “She thinks that because of what she's been through she's changed, but she's still just a kid.”
“You’re wrong, Abby. She stopped being a kid the day you sent her down here to die.”
Abby finally noticed you standing at the doorway and cleared her throat before giving you a fake smile, she obviously didn’t think you had seen. “Y/N, how are you holding up?”
As she spoke Raven turned around to face you, and you could see the red mark on her cheek. It took everything inside you not to curse the doctor out for hurting Raven. “Uh,” you knew from the look your friend was giving you she didn’t want you to say anything. “I don’t know where my clothes are.”
“Oh of course,” Abby clasped her hands together. “Octavia took them earlier and I’m afraid she didn’t tell me where they were placed, and she’s busy at the moment. I can-”
“I have spare clothes Alba can wear until we find hers,” Raven said quietly.
Abby nodded and exited the room, once you were alone you pulled Raven into a hug. You were afraid to say anything knowing that your voice would break. You were concentrating so hard on not crying that you didn’t notice the leg brace Raven had on until you stepped back.
Raven gave you a soft smile before, “I thought you were goner Al.”
“Likewise,” you moved to get a better look at her cheek. “I can’t believe she hit you.”
“It’s fine Alba, I don’t care about it. What I care about is your back.”
For the first time since being taken by the mountain men you didn’t feel that everything was doomed, knowing that two of your friends were safe was enough to bring a little bit of light back into the darkness.
“Come on, let’s get you out of that horrendous gown.”
“I can’t believe you are staying in a tent, they should have found you a room inside. If not because of your leg then at least because of all the work you do for them.”
Raven laughed at the comment as she handed you clothes. You ripped the gown off and happily threw it to the ground and shimmed into a pair of dark jeans and pulled on a clean top. Opening your mouth to thank Raven again you noticed the way she was staring down at her leg. You sat down on the bed next to her, “Reyes?”
You could see her lip trembling as she glanced up, “I have nerve damage from the gunshot.”
“I’m so sorry Raven, I swear I’m going to kill Murphy when I get my hands on him.” It still didn’t feel real to me that Murphy was capable of hurting someone that much. “Whatever you need I’ll be at your beck and call.”
“Careful you might regret saying that one day,” she chuckled. Raven’s smile faded when she focused at your waist, the brunette placed her hand by your bruised hip. You hadn’t noticed the top was ruffled up at one side, her fingers lightly rubbed against the top of your bruise. “What happened Al?”
You shrugged, “It’s a little fuzzy. The last thing I remember is injecting you with coagulant, Anya tried to kill us, then we blasted off.”
“Then the mountain men came.”
“Yeah they came and took most of us. I’m glad I got out but I still feel guilty for not trying to convince others to leave with us.”
Raven gave you a sympathetic smile. “Don’t do that Al, don’t punish yourself for the pain somebody else has caused.”
You were lost for words, Raven made basic sentences sound so poetic.
“What-what did they do to you in Mount weather?”
“I remember a horrible drilling noise, then waking up to a man called Dante Wallace leaning over me. He told me some bullshit then I escaped with Clarke shortly after.”
Raven looked unimpressed, “that’s it? I want to know everything that happened.”
Nodding you began explaining the full story of how you escaped, you tried your best not to laugh as Raven’s facial expressions that kept changing. She seemed particularly interested in how you got every deep cut and bruise. “I hope Clarke manages to convince the commander to agree to a truce.”
“I hope so.” You shuffled further back onto the bed so you could lie down. Raven gave you an amused look as you made yourself more comfortable, then It dawned on you that this wasn’t your tent. “Fancy having a roommate Reyes? At least until I get my own tent.”
She grinned before laying down next to you on the small bed, “I think that could work.”
There were still so many things you wanted to discuss with Raven but it wasn’t the right time. It was still daylight outside but you were both exhausted. You couldn’t stop yawning, and could tell how strained your friend was. Raven had heavy bags underneath her eyes most likely caused by stress of her leg injury. You wished more than anything you could take that pain away from her. Her ‘get on with it’ attitude amazed you considering the situation she was in.
Even if it was impossible for you to physically take her pain away, you could always try and distract her. “Reyes?”
“Hmm?”
“What's it like to spacewalk?”
