#what if s4 of moominvalley ends in this

ok when they announced s4 they said this about it:

"Season four will culminate in a thrilling ending as the beautiful valley faces its greatest threat yet – inspired by one of the most famous storylines within the original Moomin books, a comet speeds towards Moominvalley and nobody knows what to do. Only the kindness, acceptance and unique sense of humour of the beloved Moomins can save the day."

and that phrase "culminate in a thrilling ending" is very reminiscent of darren's language describing the special, so maybe it will be the end to the comet arc...? but then I wonder if they'd have planned it that early/were so sure they were gonna get the special that they could end s4 on a cliffhanger 🤔

ohhhh now that we've got some sort of confirmation of this special though I'm so curious as to how they're gonna end the entire series..... will they go the home & family route and have moomintroll surrounded by loved ones in the valley, or will they have him venture out onto new adventures (with snufkin..?)? sooo intrigued 😆

Anyway NEW MOOMINVALLEY S4 PITCH LET'S GOOOOO

Okay so ep1 is set in early Autumn. There are signs for the comet building up, but the more pressing adventure of the day takes precedence!

Ep2 starts with everything covered in ash. Snuf is like huh I guess the Winter's early this year?? As is the rest of the valley. Moomin and Little My hear from the Muskrat that the comet's a bad omen and start looking into it. Gotta clean up all this ash!! (Thx Miss Fillyjonk)

Ep3 is Moomin striking out for the Observatory in the Lonely Mtns. If anyone knows what's up, it's them. Snuf offers to go with, but Moomin declines, wanting to prove himself adventurer once more. Little My ends up sneaking along and Snork Maiden follows (with Sniff and Snuf), so wellp too bad Moomin. They do end up helping him out after the Adventure ends up trapped and gets wrecked, so hey it works out.

Ep4, we reach the Observatory and learn that the Comet is uhh not a good thing!! Moomin panics but everyone else is pretty chill about it. On their way back home they run into that gorge of amethysts and Sniff nearly gets eaten by an Antlion, but the team pulls together to save him. At the cost of some of their supplies though. Damn it…

Ep5, general store trip. Because of those lost supplies. Somehow Snuf cons his way unintentionally into paying for everything they need, including a very cozy scarf for Moomin. (Which is needed since Winter is coming and it chilly!!) As they head on their way, they can see the comet clearer in the sky now and they only have two days left to warn everyone. The sea is drying up… So let's cross the sea.

Ep6, crossing the dried-up sea. Little My and Snork Maiden nearly get caught by an octopus hanging out in a ship, but Sniff and Moomin and Snuf help distract it long enough for them to get away. Stilt walking!! And general conversation over the odd timing, the strange happenings, concern for parents. Snuf is a bit upset that his exit has been so postponed, but Moomin assures him they'll figure this out before the snow arrives.

Ep7, they make it back to the valley and find everyone in a tizzy. Storm's coming!! The comet is less than a day from impact!! Moomin fights through the crowd to get home, but the stampede is a bit much and the gang has to scale some trees to get out of it. They make it home and get Mamma and Pappa and their things to safety in a cave, where everyone hunkers down to brace for impact. Moomin's sad about the change the valley's going through and Snuf assures him that change is inevitable and okay. Snork Maiden and Little My join in and the family huddle together as the comet descends.

Ep8 - the valley has survived and the comet has landed out in the sea. Since the waters have yet to return, let's take a trip out there and see what's up with this space rock! They explore and walk over it, able to break off little chunks. It's like a small island, which is true now with the tide rolling back and stranding them out from the shore. Snork ends up rescuing them with a motorboat (it was meant to fly, but he was pressed for time) and they all make it back to safety. The valley is fine, the sea is returning, and Snuf wants to set off on his travels for the winter.

Ep9, Snuf ends up intrigued by Snork's plans for a flying machine and spends time with him, helping and watching it come to fruition. Moomintroll and Little My end up having a contest over who's better suited to woo Snork Maiden that ends with her losing her memories for a bit, but with Snuf's help, they get her back to her usual self. Moomin decides that it's time to let go of that part of his childhood and begins work on the Adventure II

Ep10, Miss Fillyjonk gets invited to a costume ball and everyone decides to go with her. Little My and Snork Maiden get help from Mamma for appropriate dress while Stinky makes an attempt to heist the place by stealing the half finished boat, leading to Moomin chasing him down to get it back. In the very chilly evening, he finds Snuf on his way out. Instead of calling after him, he simply watches Snuf leave and knows they'll see each other again come Spring

Ep11, Winter has arrived and snow covers the valley. Hibernation is interrupted this time by all the small creatures who were displaced by the comet fiasco. Toffle, Mymble, and Ninny all end up crowding Moominhouse while Little My and Mamma do their best to be good hosts. Moomin and Tooticky have some talks about crowds, growing older, and beds that end up too small to fit you anymore. Float the idea of Christmas here.

Ep12, Snuf has made an unexpected return, having forgotten to leave Moomin a note and too embarrassed about it to leave it be. He runs into Little My first, whom he's surprised to see still awake, and she grills him over his devotion to Moomin. (Also Moomin's not home right now so good luck sir.) Snuf drops his letter off, but is reluctant to leave again right away. He's spent too much time here already, but he's homesick nonetheless. In his search for Moomin, he learns that Christmas is happening and everyone's in a tizzy over it. He thinks hard about a gift for Moomin, but has no such luck. Finally, he comes across the big party and spies all the Moomins there. Little My badgers him again, but he stays long enough for a dance with Moomin before Moomin leads him away from the hubbub so they can be alone.

Ep13, it's deep winter and Snuf is leaving again. Moomin runs out to see him off. He ponders for a moment, then hands Moomin his harmonica. A promise. Moomin takes it and wishes him well, then watches him head off. Then he heads back inside to hibernate, but decides against it and instead heads out into the Winter. He spends most of his time practicing on Snuf's harmonica and learning to fish and better fend for himself. He's grown now, an adult. Spring soon comes again and while the rest of the valley wakes to greet it, Moomin sits on the bridge and works out his own tune on Snuf's harmonica. The birds carry it along until we hear Snuf humming along. Moomin hops up and hurries off to greet his friend.
