I was watching a Youtube video of all the Cinematic from the new Overwatch Invasion update (cause heaven knows I ain't buying it) and I noticed at the end Ramattra has this like.. Burn? Mark?? On his chest that goes through his cape

So I downloaded Overwatch on my PC to get a look at the Wandering/Traveling Monk skins this scene is using and I noticed..

Traveling and Wandering have a lot of visual differences, most notably in the burn the originally got my attention.

Wandering has been used canonically to show Ramattra's monk days previously, in his origin story and in the Developer commentary, but interestingly the artwork in those videos is lacking that very burn

Overwatch character designers are very good at visual storytelling, especially with Omnics (I could write an essay on what they've done with Zenyatta), so I believe this burn may very well be what became the Last Straw for Ramattra, what pushed him to leave the Shambali, what caused his fall into violence and eventually Talon.

Was he attacked? Or was he attempting to protect someone else? Despite his best efforts to shield them, the shot fired right past him, scorching his metal, cutting through his cape, and taking their life...

I hope we learn more about it.

I am seeing all these people talking about Odysseus choice in Thunder Bringer and. Well they are not wrong but I think we are alll forgetting that the 9ther choice was Odysseus sacrificing himself? And that would be the choice a noble character would have chosen, right, vut even putting aside Penelope how many people would actually give up their own lives? Then you also add that he has just gone through a mutiny and that the fact that they are even in danger is because of the crews choices themselves (was there seriously nothing else but Apollo's cows to eat. Seriously), and it doesn't give much of an inncentive to do the 'right' thing.

Like it is still horrible and there is a reason this is a tragedy aside from an epic but c'mon, there are a lot of sides to what happens both here as well as in the history as a whole.

As much as I'm a Pharma apologist he is genuinely an asshole who acts completely unrepentant so something I think about for an eventual Pharma redemption fic is like. How do you write a redemption for a severely traumatized guy whose coping mechanism is to act like he doesn't care and the people who need to accept him don't like/care about him enough to go "hey it's okay everyone gets a second chance" and/or "wow Pharma is so radically different what caused that change."

But also like it's really hard to help someone who has no desire to/refuses to be helped and makes himself deliberately unpleasant to be around so like idk

thinking about shadow of the erdtree again. I'm now a little more ambivalent on whether radahn agreed with miquella's vow or not - but assuming he did - would that mean the reason radahn halted the stars, and thereby carian fate* is so ranni would not be able to enact the age of stars before miquella was to create a new order? food for thought.

*it's also ambiguous (imo) whether radahn did this intentionally but im just having a thought experiment. blaidd leaves a sign calling someone a "traitor" in front of nokron right after radahn is defeated. maybe him siding with miq would explain this
