Still thinking about that question in yesterday's Jensen/Misha panel about whether, with hindsight, Jensen thinks Cas was trying to get rid of Sam and have Dean all to himself, and the more I think about it, the more bananas I think that question is.

I mean, firstly, that's clearly a gross question designed to bait them into saying something that's going to shut the door on some faction of Supernatural fans, and it's telling how Misha reacts and how he thinks Jensen is in danger of getting cancelled by answering. They fucking know what's up, yo...

(and sidebar: like, do what you want with the story in the wild kingdom your own brain! I don't care at all, nor should any of us! Villainous, evil Cas? Whatever! It might be fun and angsty! Brothers that fuck? Gross! But, you do you! I don't care! But please! Acknowledge that your take is YOURS, and don't act like it has any basis in the text of the show! Like, have a modicum of self-respect in front of our collective TV boyfriends!)

...but secondly, holy shit, man. Is THAT what that person thinks LOVE consists of? Destructive selfishness and jealously? Cas loves Dean, so he will fucking break Sam? Whom Dean clearly, clearly loves? Because seriously, that is just sad, and honestly, is the antithesis of anything Cas said, which was: "I don't have to HAVE, just telling you is enough to satisfy me enough to DIE."

Being someone who read Under The Red Hood and came out with the firm belief that, for Jason, it's not about killing Joker, it's about Jason wanting proof Batman would choose him over the Joker (bc shelia chose the joker). Makes seeing any other media where it's all about just wanting the Joker dead is a teeny bit frustrating. to be honest

Jason could've killed the Joker himself, really, really easily. Jason kidnaps the Joker before the confrontation. I can't open my comic for a reference right now, but it felt like he had the Joker for quite a bit before the confrontation. He had him. He beat him up with a crowbar. He had every single opportunity to kill the Joker himself, but he didn't because that wasn't his goal. Make no mistake, he did plan for the Joker to be dead by the end of it, but do you see what im trying to say here

It's not about making Batman kill either. When Batman says he won't kill, Jason adjusts and goes, 'Let ME kill the Joker or kill me to stop me' instead. The test is all about Batman choosing him. The whole final confrontation is Jason's first death again. The parent, The Joker, and the explosives. It even ends with Jason unable to move as a bomb goes off right next to him again because the parent didn't choose Jason. And instead tried finding an option that'd benefit them and (consequencely) letting the Joker walk, again, lol, lmao <-in agony

i have to be so real. sometimes you have to outright not give a shit what the author thinks. i’m not saying to disregard how a character is portrayed and give into fanon characterisations but sometimes i will see fans be like “(head writer) omggg do you think this character is a good person?” “how would this character react if xyz happened?” as though that’s not a question you can and have to answer for yourself.! any character can contain multitudes and if you keep limiting your perception of them solely on word of god its not fun for the writer or even yourself anymore.
