I think the Kirby series deserves another anime, but I struggle to identify what exactly I'd want from a new adaptation. The original is what it is, y'know, I don't feel too strongly like it committed any egregious sins against the franchise. Dedede's characterization... I get the need for a Typical Villain and I don't think there were many good characters (then or now) to get for the mix of Comical and Reliable you need for a serialized show (the way Bowser, Eggman, or Team Rocket worked for their series). It's definitely sad to see him have such a wildly different character that weighs him down the way it does, but I can't think of an Easy Fix. And that doesn't even touch on the way Game Dream/Pupupuland and Anime Dream/Pupupuland differ in their setting, or the way any dub would have to find a way to Exist when people are gonna compare it to the 4Kids dub. Love it or hate it, it was Something, and any dub would have to choose if it wanted to take inspiration or go its own way (both with their own risks). And then you contend with the existence of the anime original characters.
Honestly, I'd probably say my ideal pick would be a Remake (I guess in the vein of Adventure/Nightmare in Dreamland or Return To Dreamland/Deluxe type of update?) Keep the basic characters and story roughly the same, probably tweak the setting so it's a bit more game like, and focus on something that feels similar but takes account of the general series progression and works with that (even if not everything in the game gets adapted, at least picking and choosing from what the games offer)
#It's kinda hard to think Abt this just because of like. Idk abt the Kirby animes rep in Japan so I cant really. Say anything Abt that#But 4kids- here and in general- was just such a Cultural... Idk what to call it. It's an Icon but not because it's Good#It's not quite ''so bad it's good'' but it's also deeply flawed on so many levels and ppl get that#But Id confidently say that u can't recapture the absolutely Wild energy they added to things.#Like obv the pokemon anime still went on a got dubbed and was fairly well received. But the way 4kids went about it...#Obviously it would still be popular but. They did Something to the Cultural Reception. And Kirby was Entirely 4Kids#(tho the Kirby 3D thing was post 4kids and captured the energy of the dub bc. It had the actors lol. But also that was a Special Episode#So it's a different ballpark from A New Series)#And also Kirby doesn't have consistent voice acting the way Mario or Sonic does. So for a lot of ppl the 4kids voices are The Voices#And a new series has to chose- do you imitate or even replicated (like with the same VAs if you can get them)? Or do you try to start fresh#Both seem like quite the uphill battle...#And final note I'm only talking a Multi Episode Adaptation as opposed to like. A Movie#Because what the hell would the plot of the movie even be. A serialized adaption can do its own Thing#But Kirby doesn't have the kind of Typical Plot that Mario does. And like IDK what the sonic movies are doing#But from my understanding they don't have the expectation of Eldritch Horror Background that Kirby has. Like#Kirby series you can probably get fans to go ''okay theyre telling their own story'' and throw in subtle hints towards the Lore#Without it being The Plot. Movie you kinda have to commit to ''here is a Singular/Standoit Adventure'' and. Kirby doesn't really#Have an easy one of those. Bc the main villain changes like every damn game. So do you go with Dedede (probably pissing off the fans bc#he isn't even always an Antagonist and you're gonna have to struggle with his Hashtag Character Development)? Do you choose One Game#To adapt and probably cause discourse about whether or not you chose right? Do you make a new villain and make all the fans go#''why not (insert game villain)''? Do you make a few sequels (and then get the same questions about why#Some were picked over the others)? Anyway. Obviously I'm not an expert but I feel like a series has the benefit of not only#Having a less Singular Focus but also being able to fall back on the ''anime is a different universe you figure out how the game lore fits'#Y'know. I don't know where I am anymore but whatever

idk if ur still playing celeste but I think u do make some rlly good points abt sj.
First off I absolutely agree abt the maps in general being less memorable, but I would say that sj in general is more polished (sometimes to the point of it being sanded down into nothing), and generally doesnt have bad levels like sc had bad levels.
That being said, I found that the gm lobby in general is phenomenal, as it's the place in which mappers did not have to water down their creativity. Do u intend on playing red/cracked maps? I find a lot of them have rlly cool ideas that are executed well.
I do find it rlly annoying that sj has become *the* celeste mod ppl rec when it rlly is just a good mod with a big scope. There's also half a million nitpicks w sj's design but I will not get into them as asks have a character limit :'3
Also I am rlly sorry abt clord we are generally rlly nice ppl but trans woman on the internet moment.
Yeah, I could tell that it was getting a lot better at high expert & gm. I have a sneaky theory that difficulty at that level is kind of a design blunder no matter what, so you're forced to lean into it and make it interesting on purpose. going through the expert lobby in ascending difficulty was like watching a flower bloom, every green expert map just instantly left my mind as soon as I completed it but many of the reds were super weird or at least memorably jank & i found two of my favorite maps of the bunch in that range, fortress fall and summit down-side. upward trend seemed to be continuing for gm, i loved loved loved flipside cliffside.
everyone wanted me to play shattersong but i left such a bad impression on that community that its mapper said she'd disregard anything good i said about it, like i dunno how to engage with this space in a way that doesn't make me feel like shit. some of that old desire to grind is starting to come back though, who knows.

idk if this is anything but …
yk how people who hate on stolas call out his classicism and demeaning of imps? like in loo loo land obvi when stolas calls m&m “littler ones” and yk yk yk s1 stolas behavior whatever we all know
how come i don’t see that shit about loona??
from the first time i watched helluva boss i found loona’s jokes about moxie being fat to be tasteless and irritating, but like i didn’t actually care. bc it’s a show they’re demons whatever. i don’t have to like loona or go on tumblr to call out how much i dislike her bc of that.
but it is problematic, like if we are calling out characters from hell for saying dumb ignorant shit then yeah it’s problematic. and i don’t think stolas is any worse for just perpetuating shit he heard in his bubble.
but idk, maybe i just haven’t seen that criticism and it does exist somewhere. maybe im the problem. or maybe ppl just don’t gaf ab fatphobia and the hot goth furry can be an asshole
Calling out Problematic Behavior in Hellaverse
Expect this to be an informal ass post because I'm like 10 minutes from clocking into work. If ya'll don't know who I am hey, it's me, Amalthea the Ultimate Stolas Kin and Stan and Informal Expert on ALL things Related to Stolas.
The major reason this happens is because of social status.

Stolas is higher on the social ladder and therefore comments he make have a more negative connotation to them than when Loona talks shit to Moxxie.
Loona is lower on the social and pretty on par with Mox socially so nothing she says hits as hard as the rich bird I love.
Loona isn't punching down but rather hitting someone within the same social grouping as her. It doesn't come off connotationally as harsh as Stolas's because of her social position.
However, IMO it should be called out more in the show. I mean Blitz makes jokes ab Moxxie being "slow" and also calling him fat, bouncing off Loona's insults. In the Pilot even calling Moxxie the R-slur.
I mean these aren't even things Stolas says. Hell the shit he says is again meant playfully or just unconscious, but Loona says what she says from a knowing place of hurt. She and Blitz actively enjoy tormenting Moxxie and I don't know where it comes from tbh.
I do think that despite Loona and Blitz being in the same social caliber as Moxxie doesn't excuse their actions and therefore if we are calling out Stolas's prejudice, theirs should be called out too.
However because Stolas is rich suddenly it is "more important" to discuss. It is unfortunate there is a double standard when discussing this stuff in Hellaverse. As I've argued in the past behaviors Blitz does gets a "trauma pass" due to his social standing, but Stolas is borderline burnt at the stake for very mundane, offhanded comments, but bc Loona is a hellhound she and her father can be openly fatphobic or ableist and that's not a problem.
Just an issue in the Hellaverse fandom sadly. May add onto this post later.
Toodles I got work! Amalthea out!

"girl please" is a neutral phrase lmao but my bad ig. anyway, to 99% of the population a fetish and a kink mean more or less the same thing. if there's a difference could you explain it? thx... btw you're not a feminist if you think it's ok to draw or get off to sexual art of children, even if they're fictional/cartoon... you do realize a lot of shota and loli content is traced from photos of kids, right? my abuser made cartoon csem traced from my photos. :/
My dad used to force me to watch csem and distributed csem of me also exists. I actually get sent it sometimes on facebook who I know are just my dad using sock puppet accounts. Did I win the CSA Olympics? Am I now enough of an authority of this trauma to make unsubstantiated claims? I could trauma dump unsolicited on you too but I have compassion so I won't and also I'm not about to plead for my humanity from someone who won't listen and engage in good faith anyways.
I'm sorry that happened to you but it would have happened regardless of the existence of lolisho. Abusers are gonna abuse no matter what. This was the first thing I learned in therapy. What's funny is it was lolisho that help me realize my abuse. Yes I understood sexual abuse conceptually but I couldn't recognize it happening to ME until I saw my situation reflected back at me in a safe sane scenario. My therapist said it was bc I was repressing it in denial and only allowing myself to fantasize about it in a safe environment was I able to recognize it as abuse. Funny how life works like that huh.
Oh to explain I completely forgot bc I had to write this twice bc Tumblr crashed. A fetish is a sexual reliance on something to achieve sexual arousal or gratification and can be sexual.outside of sexual contexts. A kink amplifies sexual gratification, usually has to do with roleplay or sexual acts/positions/height/weight and has to be negotiated and communicated and consentual. Ppl do use them interchangeably BUT specifically with the word fetishize ur using it wrong in this case. To fetishize something there must be both dehumanization and objectification. U can not dehumanize or objectify fictional characters they are not human and are already objects.
No I don't support sexual art of children. This sort of phrasing is just a deliberate misrepresention so u can position urself as morally righteous and disengage from the conversation early and not have to examine what anyone is actually saying. They are fictional characters. They can be any age, any race and body type and have any name at any time. They are objects. They don't exist and can not accumulate trauma the way you or i can. They do not need protection.
If u don't like it that's fine. Especially considering your trauma. But ur claim is unsupported and wildly inaccurate. Do not projects ur trauma onto others especially as it pertains to facts about criminal psychology and sex crimes. This is unhealthy and will lead to paranoia that same paranoia that brought u to ur conclusion here. This is not pervasive enough in lolisho to be considered a trend or even the default. But you also could be sharing real abusive images/scenarios no matter what form of media u engage with. But that doesn't not mean we should sanitize art and media on the off chance someone could be evil. Your not exempt from the same personal responsibility ur trying to place on me just bc u don't engage in fictional pornographic material and it's not especially heinous when it's fictional art versus and any other medium. We could all be unknowingly sharing and engageing with abusive material but all we can do is protect and believe victims and figure out as a society how to reduce harm.
No banning lolisho or any media is not a solution. Studies show most csem is produced/distributed by parent/guardians. The best way to protect children is to advocate for children rights and the reduction of parental rights. Experts have been saying this for years. Children being treated like property both by law and society is what is perpetuating their abuse. Not fictional art.
Censorship is not the solution. Any historical application of censorship has always ALWAYS lead to the mistreatment and silencing of victims and marginalized communities. This will make it difficult for victims to appeal to censors and share their stories which are valuable for understanding abuse but also valuable bc it is art. And incentivizing ppl to invade other peoples privacy to be sure they have the right identity/trauma to create a specific type of art is fascism. So is censoring or banning that art. This will do nothing but silence and shame victims. This is happening still right now and has happened plenty in the past. Guilt and shame ONLY perpetuates sexual abuse.
This is also forcing ppl to engage in art and fiction with a paranoid analysis FIRST. telling ppl they can tell whose a good or bad person based on what they draw/write or engage with is not healthy and is antithetical to educating ppl on how to recognize abuse. It's irresponsible and It's giving children and teens anxiety disorders. Look at any ex anti/proship anonymous confessions. Look at the damage ppl are causing with this third grade level of word association and cause and effect. Ppl are developing POCD. Me included ALMOST.
Experts have been saying for decades now that fictional sexual material has no link to escalation into sexual violence or engaging in paraphilias. No fiction doesnt effect reality. these same psychologists that have debunked claims such as "violent video games cause violence" have also researched how it operates the same with fictional sexual material. There's no special circumstance just bc it's sex or porn.
Just bc u navigate the world on disgust and paranoia doesn't mean I have to. I listen to the science and research. While also having my own experience to draw from.
As a CSA victim with a SEX THERAPIST do u really think I would not have done my due diligence before engaging in any community?? I've done a hell of a lot of work to get where I am now. Sexually liberated and healthy. Both personal growth and LOTS of research into sex crimes. And I really don't feel like hearing regressive religiously programmed sex negative thoughts on the fiction I enjoy.
I am a feminist tho. I'm just not regressive and reactionary. 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️

Recently (A couple of months ago I just finished like a week ago) I decided to rewatch all of Scott and Pearl pov and idk why, but I'm getting yandere vibes from Scott and not Pearl. Like isnt it supposed to be the other way around???? Idk maybe it's just because in secret life Scott was more mad that Pearl didn't say "I love you" than Jimmy, and in double life when supposedly Pearl was a 'yandere' Cleo said "I have everything you want" which made Pearl confused for a second of what Cleo meant, until it hit Pearl that it was Scott and replied something like "Wait you think I want Scott?". That's really all I have rn, but idk I feel weird about it cuz Scott is gay.
This is why I'm here cause your the Scott expert, am I delusional or is this vibe no one is talking about?????? (Pls help)
First off being called the Scott expert is wild to me I think of myself at most as a grad student taking notes for my research paper studying his behaviour but this feeds my ego so keep going.
Anyway you are totally insane anon I totally don't agree.
Definitely have not made multiple posts in the past basing my analysis of Scott's character on him being weird about Pearl.
Definitely have not had other ppl in the past happy to hear they're not insane for seeing it too.
Or addressed it feeling illegal to acknowledge this aspect of Scott's character.
don't look under the cut haha nothing is down there
HE'S CRAZY HE'S FUCKING CRAZY HE'S INSANE HE'S THE WORST HE'S LITERALLY THE WORST THE WORSTTTTT THE WORST MAN ON EARTHHHHH UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
LL they were like. Very affectionate but it was just cute to me (I think I was watching with a friend and even remarked that they acted like siblings at one point. oh how naive). Like yay they're besties! Double Life was when I was like. Oh something's. Something's strange here.
The way Scott automatically slaps the "ex-girlfriend" title on Pearl despite that not being true. The way Scott is the one constantly using romantic terms to refer to her while Pearl never does the same for him. The fact that Pearl explicitly said she "felt like (she was) being broken up with" which means she didn't see their relationship as romantic.
Also that's an insane thing for Cleo to say ?? I don't remember this but that's. That sucks. That sucks so bad. If you can give me the episode/timestamp I would thank you forever.
She literally didn't see him in that way anon she literally never did. It was never about forcing Scott to be her boyfriend/soulmate/etc it was about being abandoned and lacking closure. <-- my totally correct opinion.
Maybe slight side note but I really need to study the way people use "yandere" when referring to Pearl because as a weeb and a former yandere enjoyer it's. idk. fascinating to me. The culture I mean. Because the life series fandom is relatively less weeby than what I'm accustomed to I think "yandere" is like. slotted in as a sillier way to say toxic/obsessive female love interest And because at least in fanon Pearl kind of fits the description for your standard yandere which is conventionally attractive weirdgirl but Evil!!!!
And there's like. Something about that and the way like you mentioned if anything it's Scott who possesses more yandere tropes i.e. referring to Pearl as his (ex) girlfriend without her knowledge/consent, fishing for affection from her and even killing her friends.
Just FYI I wouldn't personally consider Scott a yandere and I would definitely do a double take if I saw someone referring to him as one in the wild. But I do think it being completely unacknowledged by fandom is interesting not only as a byproduct of the"scott can do nothing wrong" fanon but also as a reflection of how the yandere trope is approached In General when applied to male characters. I remember there being like a fairly big discussion back in the day within the anime community regarding male yanderes and how they weren't as enjoyable/iconic as their female counterparts because they were "too real" -- lots to unpack there, very fun for me specifically. That sounded sarcastic in text somehow but I'm serious I find that super interesting.
(side side note getting this ask made me really happy. I love that people agree with my opinions whoaaaa. )

Hello! I have a question.
I'm planning a peter centric (canon-ish) fic. Like from his childhood, friendships to the betrayal and murder of james and lily.
My goal is to make him more human. To give him an actual story and not just having him as the food bringing, slightly annoying friend who switched sides.
Now, from my view on him, i would like to write him as autistic and/or schizophrenic. I think that would make a lot of sense for how i see him, how those are really common mental illnesses among (serial) killers, etc.
The question is, if i would write that, would that be bad representation of those mental illnesses? (I am autistic and my father is schizophrenic so i do have actual knowledge of how that affects ppl)
Would that be a harmful representation? Because, at the end of the day, he IS the bad person, but i think it would be really interesting to explore him as a character. And i think those mental illnesses specifically could be an interesting explanation, but i dont want to write about it if i'm causing harm with it.
Okay, anyway, i really like what you're doing for this fandom! It must be really difficult at times, so thank you so much <3
i am no expert but as someone with a schizophrenic parent i'd be okay with this like??? it's an alt exploration to what's out there ! i would be SO into reading this !
my immediate response was going to be maybe have a sensitivity reader to make sure it isn't hedging on anything, but if you have experience with this yourself go ahead! just tag correctly :3
my thing with "bad" rep is like,,, (1) no rep is perfect (2) we do not necessarily know the intentions behind what's written and the fact you're asking says the world and (3) if you're worried about doing something wrong, reach out! which is what you've done so i'm nodding along to this
(also if you Do need a sensitivity reader anyway... hmu. this sounds so up my alley! i've been thinking for ages that i would love more schizophrenia rep! my mind has always been sirius as a play on azkaban memories but PETER!? a whole new world has opened up)
#asks#no i am SO intrigued with peter with schizophrenia....#peter and regulus are always autistic in my mind#but schizophrenic pete??? ohhhh im into this i fear

For ppl studying Dracula - character study
it is time.
I am talking to y'all about possibly one of the most underrated and interesting (to me) characters in classical literature.
We are talking about Renfield.
I'm going to be talking for a while, so bear with me.
So when we first meet him, he’s introduced to us as Seward’s ‘pet lunatic’, who has a weird (gross) habit of collecting flies and spiders and eating them. But it quickly becomes clear how perceptive he is - he can tell when Dracula arrives and refers to him as ‘master’. It seems that Renfield is being set up as an antagonist at first with this almost religious worship of and possible connection to Dracula, but the more we see of him, the harder he becomes to understand. There are times when he’s the ‘pet lunatic’ with his flies and spiders, other times when he’s more excited and talking about ‘the Master’, but most importantly, there are intervals when he is very well-spoken and lucid, seemingly sane - and the interesting thing about these lucid states is that they occur at specific times, usually towards sunrise and sunset; which, if you pay attention to the timings, are THE EXACT TIMES WHEN DRACULA’S POWER IS DIMINISHED. The most important example, in my opinion, is when Renfield asks Seward (together with Van Helsing, Quincey and Arthur) to let him go home. He starts very calm, arguing his point eloquently and sensibly, trying to prove how sane he is in the moment. Seward refuses, and Renfield continues to talk, becoming more and more frustrated and desperate until he is almost hysterical, unwittingly convincing them of his insanity. But why is he so desperate to leave at this very moment? Well, the very next day is when Mina starts becoming tired and lethargic - incidentally, the very same symptoms Lucy showed when Dracula started drinking her blood. Coincidence? I very much think not. What is more, this impassioned plea to be allowed to leave happens at four in the morning - in other words, just before dawn. In other words, Renfield KNEW that, if he stayed, he would not be able to stop Dracula getting in (even if he didn’t know who he was after), and he had to leave right then because it was the only time he was actually in control of his own mind.
But the biggest thing about Renfield - he is found, beaten up with a broken back after Dracula has paid a visit. Why did Dracula bother? Because Renfield realised that he had been feeding on Mina, who was the first person to treat him as a fellow human being instead of a ‘pet lunatic’. Let me repeat: it was RENFIELD who realised. Nobody else. Not Van Helsing, who is supposed to be the vampire expert. Not her own husband, who has been at close quarters with Dracula before. No, it took RENFIELD to figure it out, despite being not entirely sane and only having seen Mina TWICE. And he ATTACKS Dracula. Unlike everyone else, he has no weapons or crucifix or anything. He attacks Dracula BAREHANDED, relying only on his hysterical strength to stop him feeding off Mina. Of course he gets hopelessly beat up. And then, despite his inherent dislike of Seward, he tells him and the others about Dracula and Mina - and pays the ultimate price when Dracula, having been confronted and chased away from Mina, takes out his anger on Renfield and smashes his face in.
But why does Renfield act the way he does? What got him into the asylum in the first place? Presumably, it's to do with the flies and spiders. After all, sane people normally don't collect flies in their room, feed them to spiders, feed the spiders to birds, etc. Yet the reasoning behind his madness is laid out when he talks to Mina about it. His theory, as he explains it, is that life can be indefinitely prolonged by the consumption of blood. Sound like anything familiar?
Renfield worships Dracula because Dracula is everything he wants to achieve. Renfield wants to be a vampire. He wants to find a way to prolong his life indefinitely in the same way Dracula has. He may not even know that much about vampires at all, but like a scientist, he experiments, and it is these experiments that brand him a lunatic.
But wait. If his goal is to become a vampire, and he attempts to attain it by sucking up to Dracula, why does he then attack him? Protecting Mina won't get him closer to immortality - in fact, it leads to his death. So how can this illogical action be explained?
My personal belief is that ultimately, Renfield wants to be accepted. He can't get acceptance from Seward or any of the other people at the asylum. We don't know much about his backstory (which, in my opinion, is criminal), but it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to say that his experiments with prolonging life were a method to prove himself and gain acceptance. Maybe he used to work with someone who died, or was trying to save people with terminal illnesses. Towards the beginning of the novel, he willingly volunteers as Dracula's slave in order to gain his acceptance and possibly attain the state of vampirism.
So when he talks to Mina and she addresses him as an equal, and treats him as an intelligent human being, she has already accepted him - possibly the first time he has experienced something like this. No, I don't ship it, but this is an important turning point for the character which sets up his redemption.
Renfield is mad, but he is also extremely intelligent. As I mentioned, he is the first to notice Mina's illness. He was clearly well-educated. Again, it is criminal that we didn't get more of his backstory.
And this is why I need a Dracula adaptation in which Renfield joins the monster-hunting gang and gets Dracula busted in half the time the rest of them took.

Fourth Wing's Worldbuilding
I'm currently reading Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros and I adore the concept of the world, but so far all of the crumbs of worldbuilding I've been given only make me want more. I've heard that apparently she doesn't get much into it in the first book, but I love worldbuilding and I have a lot of questions I'm sure she's not going to answer so I've written them down for myself for later (hopefully) fanfic worldbuilding instead. These are very much not in order.
how is general sorrengail allowed to place violet in a quadrant made up of volunteers in the war college she's the general in charge of and kick her out of the scribe quadrant without a valid reason, is that not some sort of preferential treatment?
what is the rough technological advancement of the world, are there mass-produced weapons or singular smiths? why is not metalwork a course in the war college/another college? do they use ppl with metal bending signets instead?
is the person with the make-small-things-big signet able to do that with food? is that food nutritious? what is the common diet of the navarre and is it different between what violet as a highclass general's daughter (albeit one w a disability as opposed to a soldier) is used to eating?
how does trade work when navarre is allegedly ignoring the fuck out of the literal apocalypse happening outside its borders? are there other continents that saw the venin invasion and were like 'fuck nah, we're bailing' and just. wrote the whole damn continent off??
does the whole, brutal darwinist society mentality affect anything else in the country?? like the characters admit basgiath is brutal yes but they also talk about removing the weak for the good of the wing a lot, is this also common in other spheres of life? is infant mortality relatively high because if they have a visible disability they're seen as lesser? what does this mean for violet, does she feel the priviledge of being alive as a high-class military family member, since she has obvious internalised ableism or is she stubbornly refusing to see herself and any theoretical disabled children as one and the same in order not to think too deeply abt it (she never sees herself as explicitly disabled as far as i've read, just 'broken'); what does the theoretical darwinism of the society mean for healthcare and its accessibility? are only 'badge-of-honor' disabilities (like lost limbs or other permanent damage from battle and such mental illnesses like PTSD) valid, or are they also looked down upon? what does the existence of menders mean for healers? birth control is obviously not an issue, how are periods treated? are there mental health experts?? if a mender were to 'mend' the battle wounds of a trans man who's undergone gender-correcting surgery, will the gender-correcting surgery also be undone???
how does a culture predisposed to short, practical hair for all genders view hair-care? there's a precedent for hairdye and funky modern-world punk hairstyles in the riding quadrant, but how do common ppl see it? what haircare products and hairstyle trends are there, do high-class ppl imitate riders?
how do newbies deal with watching their comrades being burnt to ash? is there a disdain for ppl who refuse to eat meat because it seems like having a weak stomach not to want to eat cooked meat after watching your friends be cooked to death? does that mean there's a portion of ppl learning to shovel food in their mouths without tasting it in order to get nutrition and/or not look weak, which in turn makes them easier to poison? how does that intersect with probable religious cults/sects where there's food restrictions?
how come there’s 171 first years but 5-6 ppl in a squad and three squads per squadrons? am I just bad at math?
why does a dragon bond with jack who tried to kill a dragon baby? is there a possible larger disagreement in how to choose a worthy rider in the empyrean, and are Sgaeyl and Tairn on the more or less popular side with their opinion kindness is important?
why is Violet, the daughter of a war general whose siblings are soldiers actively fighting a war, so against taking a life? is it something religious, done to spite her mother, a gripe because of the way her scribe father raised her, a distaste for death? is it because they're on the same side/she wouldn't have an issue killing ppl if they were in an official skirmish?
how widespread is the erasure of culture and language after the unification?
how many languages on average should one learn if they’re a soldier, a scribe, a normal civilian? are there multiple scripts being taught or just the cyllian(?) one? how do spies and information gathering work if the larger public isn't supposed to know about venin?
what do civilians think of the 600-year war they’re supposedly leading against Poromiel, are they dissatisfied Navarre isn’t winning yet? What are they being told is the reason they're not allowed to cross the ward-borders of the country (if they're allowed to leave at all)? Does Navarre have somebody with a signet like Imogen's and are deleting/rewriting memories instead? Does Navarre even know Imogen has a signet like that at all, or is she lying about it?
the scribes have apparently been hiding the truth of the world for centuries, but as violet’s dad says history survives in folklore; does that mean there’s a sizeable portion of Navarre that remembers venin because they can’t murder every single superstitious villager? does that mean settlements around the borders are discouraged bcoz that means there’s a bigger chance of someone seeing smthn, or are border villagers discouraged from entering the army? surely talking abt myths like venin isn’t forbidden but maybe military families keep silent bcoz of class loyalty and not let common-born up the ranks but use them as canon-fodder against venin to make sure the info isn’t leaked to the civilians?
what is the common level of literacy in this society anyways?
if assassins can volunteer to come to the rider’s quadrant to take out their targets, how do they leave or get paid?
are there inside assassination jobs, like if somebody is conscripted as a punishment for a crime like the Marked Ones as a method of execution but ends up surviving, can someone be ordered to dispose of them? in that case is it an official execution or is it an illegal assassination?
why did nobody react to andarna being yellow if there’s no yellow dragons, did they just think she was a mega-weak orange??
why does dain know abt the empyrean and mentions it to violet but professor kaori the dragon expert is excited abt learning more, shouldn’t they already be aware of it?
why does the common misconception that dragons despise weaklings exist, why do the dragons not correct it or confirm it?
how do religion and dragons intersect if dragons canonically aren’t impressed with human gods? does that mean that once upon a time bonding with a dragon meant being the fantasy equivalent of a satan worshipper? if every single god has a separate temple like it’s said Amari has a temple in Aretia then does that mean that, just like in Ancient Greece, every kingdom-now-province had a separate patron god? if yes, then were they a pantheon from the beginning or were they monotheistic religions that merged together after the unification, does that mean there’s separate cults for every god, traditionalist and reformist worshippers? can you tell from what province someone is by which gods they call upon, do they have different hymns or prayers, does every god/cult/province have different superstitions and attitudaes towards different tyopes of dragons or signets, what was the historical attitude towards inntinnsics, were they priests, demigods, cursed?
do dragons know when their next bonded human will be their last, is it something to do with their power level, the closeness of their bond, and (i forgot this question but it was smthn to do w signets?)
do they or do they not use saddles and if not then what is the purpose of the pommel thing on top of the dragon they hold onto that I keep reading about?
if tairn and sgaeyl bone so fucking much then why haven't they had a hatchling yet? is there a dragon contraceptive???? is it some sort of magical 'i'm not getting pregnant if i don't want to'? is it some sort of mystical 'only on the first blood-moon in february and after we murder three virgin goats together' type of deal???
#fourth wing#iron flame#the empyrean#I don't really want to say it's anti anything because I knew walking in that it was a romance and not a fantasy driven story#and most of these questions can actually be asked towards any modern fantasy and not get answered either#bcoz most of the time the answer is 'it's not crucial to the story' and i can live with that#but i personally adore worldbuilding in a fandom where most of what's canon is just vibes because it gives me so much wiggleroom to have fu#anyway these were just the questions that popped into my head first but I hit the character limit of the post block lol#might do another one of these if I have more questions (i ievitably will) but yeah#kei writes

idk but I think people are getting a bit overwhelmed with all the inzoi information we have at once, what i find very strange is how even the code has AI generated lines..
what I'm wondering is how will the creators of cc do it on inzoi? on twitter there is an account that showed how they literally have a 3D printer made with AI lol..
like, what's the point of (for example) making a modcollective exclusive cc, if in the end i can put an image of your cc in the AI and i can have it for free?.. so confusing..
I'm gonna be real, I'm not the best person to come to about this, I know some stuff about CC creation, but I am not an expert on coding or modding so you might need to hit up someone who is about all that.
The 3D printer is a tool, to my knowledge, inside the buy/build, and from what I've seen is basically photogrametry ( picture to 3D object ) and the picture they used from one of the examples was a person's own picture of like their stuffed dog or something, and the other was like a picture of a decorative vase, likely a pic off pinterest or a home decor shop site, so it seems like something atm they only intend for ppl to use personally. Right now I don't know whether these creations will be able to be shared, I only know that ZOI, the characters ppl create, can be shared in a way that's similar to The Sims 4's Gallery.
Personally, I wouldn't suggest using the 3D Printer, not just bc it probably uses a ton of resources, but also bc the examples they showed looked ummm... bad, lol. So if you did use it on a pic of someone's CC, and assuming the creator themselves didn't create their mesh using a similar technology, it'd probably look way worse.
Otherwise, if The Sims CC community, esp in it's current state is any inclination of how this tool might be abused, bc let's be honest, ppl have been putting AI generated art in their sims CC for some time now... and well, you see where I'm getting at.
#ppl love to hate on the tech but forgot there's a human element that is greatly involved in how it's misused#asks

Since I'm a fresh off of the osc person who's really into star wars rn and I've been looking at ur posts and u mentioned the perfect prosthetic thing for SW(ur so right! I've been thinking about that) . Can I just say I feel like the osc has SUCH a perfect prosthetic problem in which ppl wanna say the armless characters are still disabled in their gijinkas and they're sooo progressive and have rep in their art but then ALL of them are just "Perfect prosthetic" trope and not researched at all,,,, I wish there were more gijinkas with disabilities that were researched and put thought into it tbh! It won't hurt to make at least some object show gijinkas without prosthetics or with realistic prosthetics and look into the kind of prosthetic picked, disabled people's experiences and more + I think really often some osc fans have this desire to "fix" disabled characters it's odd. Even if you don't consider armless characters disabled it's still weird to think of someone without a limb as needing to be fixed(but then again even outside of the osc this is a very common ableist view of amputees irl unfortunately.) It kinda connects to the perfect prosthetic thing too imo (Really sorry for this rant in ur asks when you're into star wars rn . Ur c3po takes are real and true always trust . Keep up the good work with posting abt him and his husband and star wars)
do not worry anon!! though i may be fixated on sw at the moment, my heart will always lie with fan and thus, the osc <3
you’re so unbelievably right about all of this, it’s something i have thought about many times before. practically all osc gijinkas have simple robotic arms that do not function like a real prosthetic and erase the disablement of the character, very rarely do i see gijinkas with realistic functioning (and looking) prosthetics or disabilities that would explain their condition. it’s frustrating!
i absolutely agree with everything you’re saying, especially in regards to how people believe they need to “fix” disabled characters. it’s so very commonplace to see the same all-healing “solutions” everywhere, no matter what fandom, rather the disabled character genuinely needing to accommodate to their disability. in a way, it reminds me of the argument that disabilities cannot exist in fantasy. the common defense for such design choices always seems to come down to “well, it’s a fictional world about objects and numbers with magic” …as if that changes anything? it’s a lazy excuse to erase the disablement of the character, and to avoid doing any manner of research on prosthetics and disabilities. world filled with magic numbers and talking golfballs or not, there will always be disabled people, and there should not be a need to “fix” them.
though i am no expert myself, it’s always very important for me to try my best to incorporate things such as different types of prosthetics and conditions in my designs. even though i haven’t updated my osc gijinkas in a while, considering all types of disabled representation i can include is always something i’m trying to improve upon :) !! there’s so many ways to get creative with disabilities instead of giving into the same repetitive ableist trope, for example my baseball gijinka has a paralyzed arm and my nickel gijinka has two hook prosthetics, one of which is broken and non-functional! it’s baffling how much more unique and different gijinkas can be when taking disability into account rather than rejecting it!
(and if this is a topic you’re greatly interested in, i’d highly recommend checking out my dear friend @ mr-payjay. she knows a great deal about prosthetics and disabilities, far more than i could go on about, and loves to incorporate them in her designs!)
don’t feel burdened about your rant anon, this was a great pleasure to see in my notifications! i’ve been smiling while reading your ask, i’m always happy to talk about things such as this :) so very endeared by your response, if you’d like to, i’d love to be mutuals! i’m here to talk about fan, c3po, and his husband all night 🫡

I FINALLY GOT TO YOUR MESSAGE BESTIEEEE i was scared of answering it during the week because i knew it would take me ages.
Excluding the questions I've answered to other ppl, obv. THIS IS JUST A PART 1 OF ALL YOUR QUESTIONS.
What’s the lie your character says most often?
Atcham: he doesn't really lie enough to have a reoccuring one. He just says whatever comes to his mind, I think. Kerubim: literally everything he says is a lie. Especially when talking about past events. He will randomly make shit up, even while knowing that the other two KNOW that he's doing that. Joris: "I am in awe of your intelligence, your majesty. This will be a wonderful move, even if it may upset the leaders of Brakmar."
How loosely or strictly do they use the word ‘friend’?
Atcham: he doesn't, except for saying it ironically. Kerubim: anyone he's known for longer than an hour. Joris: likely to apply this word to people with whom he shared 2 near-death experiences with, because now they are connected through the Cosmic Bonds of Fate.
What would you (mun) yell in the middle of a crowd to find them? What would their best friend and/or romantic partner yell?
I'm not imaginative enough to say what I would yell, but I know what they'd yell to one another.
Atcham: "Someone is mistreating Brakmarian steel swords" Kerubim: "There are discount 90yo chairs here" Joris: "Khan merch from 200 years ago?!"
All of them love buying stuff, so yeah.
If someone was impersonating them, what would friends / family ask or do to tell the difference?
Atcham: any specific-ass sword facts. Kerubim: what were you doing in Bonta 610 years ago in a boutique with your girlfriend at 10 o'clock and what colour was her dress. Joris: what time he worked until last night. Any answer that isn't "3-4am" is sus.
A more emotional answer is that across 600 years they probably have got a lot of some very hyperspecific things to ask one another.
How do they put out a candle?
Sadly, I think they all just blow on it. Maybe clap and then it magically disappears. I am not a candle expert (candxpert).
What do they notice first in the mirror versus what most people first notice looking at them?
Atcham: most people notice he's bald. he, too, notices that, and never fails to think that it's off-putting. Kerubim: most people noitce how fluffy he is. Kerubim himself notices some random knots in his fur. It's very knot-prone, and he's a bit lazy about brushing his fur. Joris: most people think he's a child, or if they don't they still notice his height. While Joris's daily concern with the mirror is "do I need to tear out some new scales? [checks chin] [checks neck] [checks cheeks] [checks his head]"
What common etiquette do they disagree with? Do they still follow it?
Atcham: all of it, and no, he doesn't. Kerubim: I don't think he gives a fuck in general. Joris: all of it, yet he still follows. He hates hierarchical things, and he hates hyper specific fork and knife rules, and he hates the way teachers expect children to rise from their tables and bow and greet them, before the classes. But he copes and seethes silently, his whole life. He appreciates the way these things make him come off as more respectable than he may really be, though.
If invited to a TED Talk, what topic would they present on? What would the title of their presentation be?
Atcham: the Brakmarian approach to building pipe bom—— Kerubim: how to survive your 5th divorce. Joris: why you don't need any relationships or friendly acquaintances outside your family and why that's healthy actually.
What’s something unimportant / frivolous that they hate passionately?
Atcham: Kerubim's tolerance of customers that can be psychologically destroyed instead. Kerubim: Atcham keeps scaring away the customers (Joris does too, but it's a "his noble X vs. Atcham's barbaric Y" situation.) Joris: Kerubim keeps adding way too much sugar to coffee and makes tea way too dilute. It makes him dream of killing both him and himself.

Yo! Don’t mean this to be anything spooky I love your art and the story you’re curating! I am someone with non correctable progressive vision issues and have noticed a lot of ppl in the ffxiv community using shadowbringers as an in to make their characters partially sighted or unsighted. The only thing I wanted to point out is that eyes generally only cloud with direct injury, infection, or something like cataracts (which is treatable). I don’t know your background and assume you have done research into how to handle displaying a disability like that, but wanted to point out that lightening eyes as a visual indicator of vision issues can be challenging. I have had people come to me and others in my life saying that since the disability isn’t visual as depicted in media that we couldn’t possibly be disabled or have any physical differences. Totally understand why people do it totally understand why it’s interesting to introduce to a character. Just something to be aware of. Visual impairment specifically I think gets handled really poorly in general media (side eyeing ‘shtola). Not upset or trying to be nitpicky! Idk your experience or background so you might be well aware. Just wanted to share my personal lived experience in case :,)
Ooo thank you!! That's very informative!!
Yes I have done someeee research though obviously im no expert on the subject (and I wanted to directly address what happened to Sesame later in his story, I kept it a little vague on purpose currently) but so far I did intent for some kind of cataract to be on his eyes and def doesn't have complete vision loss however it def is impaired at the moment.
However !! In any case I will do my best to depict it as properly as I can but of course if something comes up I would love to hear any feedback/guidance!
#asks#yeah i know i exagerated how the eyes look tho id say that was prob more for a stylistic choice over anything 🤔#but yeye i wanted to draw what his vision from sesame pov currently looked like esp in an area where the light is so bright#uhhhhh ye! anyways yeah his eyes are kinda hard to see in general since his was a light yellow to begin with uhhh so basically#i made the color lighter - light took the color away#annndddd he got cateracts which suck 💀💀 gonna send him to get those removed back on da source later jdhcukdjdogog#yeah mkst of my knowledge comes from my dad cuz his dad had cateracts and also my mom .... her vision is very bad ndjfjf

Seeing the discourse in a fandom over what a character is or isn't really ticks me off because of reasons
I will not get into it as I don't want to direct ppl to the discourse nor do I want to get certain fans or creators on my ass for having an opinion and pointing out my problems with things..
But I will say this.
For Cursedverse, unless it is absolutely stated that a CV person is "this" or "that", everyone can have their own ideas on what certain CV people are "coded" as.
This is because I am not an expert in all areas of relate-ability or mental health, I cannot say a character is completely "this-coded" or "that-coded" especially if I am not trained in every headcanon-coded thing in the world
If you think Warweapon is femboy coded, cool, sure
If you think CV Dust as PTSD, at least have good evidence as to why before spitting it out
If you think certain people are trans-coded, enby-coded, possibly has certain disorders or mental health issues, all fine and dandy as long as it makes sense
I will never claim to understand everything because I could easily fucking say that CV Aliza is unironically bipolar, I could, issue is.. I don't completely understand bipolar disorder, so there's a chance I'm slapping a label onto her that's inaccurate and she actually deserves a different label
I am leaving this shit up to whoever ends up liking Cursedverse and I will say this now even when Cursedverse isn't big and popular, go wild just make sense please!

Hello! May I ask what aspects of Kaeya made you interested in him?
ok there are couple of things which are crucial to understanding of my blatant kaeya favoritism. like i know for most ppl its like his visual design or flirty attitude or emotional conflict with adopted brother, but not for me.
so what happens in every character-driven game is that i meet the most sarcastic character in the game and they become my fav, i am very simple like that and i have no say in this decision. gender or looks have nothing to do with that, i can be playing PRG with actual designed to be sexy love interests and decide to marry un-romanceable middle aged gnome with nasal voice whose name is Jubilost Narthropple. or a ghost of woman trapped in a green ball. true stories. sarcasm has to actually be good tho, unfunny tryhard shit doesn't do it for me.
kaeya's first appearance didn't even register for me as interesting until his domain where he passively aggressively makes fun of paimon for saying some stupid shit. and even then i was like ?? is he sarcastic or is he like for real?? bc at the beginning genshin is like. excruciatingly trite and earnest so i thought they will be just no sarcasm at all. and then i did his quest and was like oh ok, he is Like That actually.
second thing about me is that i am a mythology nerd and after i started paying attention to kaeya, tho i'm not expert in nordic myths, i was like wait alberich? thats smth familiar, i think i heard it somewhere. i googled it and thats how i got into the Lore and khaenriah and the rest is history

Season 1 Episode 6 - Impractical Applications
aka the horny chupacabra episode
hobbit loving freak. icon behavior penny
alice backing q up: he’s the “leading expert”
alice in her head: “get in my pants now”
i think q is forgetting that like shit changes in the say 20-30 years since the books were written. he goes on this rant about denial of fillory not being perfect but like. places change
“yea… as a kid”
julia anger issues era. also kady’s mom reveal
kady when she lies. also i feel like what she says is what she wants her life to actually be like. ouch
will never get over the fact that they call psychic shit mind sluts
“just file that under wish there was jack shit i could do about it” mood
the green lighting on kady is so pretty
my least favorite plotline this season is the one about kady’s mom. its so unnecessary. and it fucking leads to a rabbit hole of shit for penny and kady and their relationship
”is someone being creepy on purpose” ding ding ding
the perfect rows except for plot convenient extra person!
fr makes no sense how the upperclassmen r just like allowed to kick ppl out but its funny so idc
the fact that this guy got kicked out is so dfjkhshf. and penny loves the man
god do hedges act like magic is a drug. the way they talk abt it covertly
“solve it by dawn” next shot its the middle of the day
this big ass heist they mention cut to season 5 with the world seed…
“i’d pretend i was ambassador to the fillorian outer islands” cut to miss high king the glow up
do ur lips move when YOU read eliot?
margos fits always go so hard
big ass fucking fishhook on the ground
how come some magic makes sparkles and some doesn’t
thinking about how penny has no clue what kady means when she says its life or death for her to be there and i would pay so much money to know what’s going through his head
kady with an axe this is not a drill shes in a tank grunting with an axe
did just realize they had to have the 2nd years run the trials bc the 3rd years are all missing/dead
internal circumstances my beloved
kady and penny moment where i simply pretend nothing after that ever happened and they lived happily ever after actually
right so i did in fact put this episode down for about 6 months or so and im just now coming back to doing these analyses. sorry folks lol ive been busy. anyways back to the analysis
i forgot how much i despise kady’s mom. however. she did not need to die like that. i usually skip this storyline when i rewatch. its a lot
“tell that to the girl who lost her virginity with all her clothes on” well…
quentin and alice just like as characters r supposed to be the insufferable nerds who can’t socialize but they just turned into incels
“i am scared to tell you this because its true” ouch
im a silly little film major and the idea of using the backlighting so they can be naked while not completely exposing them just looks so gorgeous in awe of the cinematographers every time
alice’s speech about holding back just foreshadowing her becoming a niffin/master magician
hey remember when the writers actually remember that q is clinically depressed? yea me neither
#the magicians#quentin coldwater#the magicians syfy#eliot waugh#kady orloff diaz#margo hanson#penny adiyodi#alice quinn#unauthorized magicians rewatch#1.06 Impractical Applications

ourghgh neoplasm spoilers milgram
please please please i believe in yamanaka go more into depth how DID is formed the way es said it scares me at how much ableism is gonna arrive from ppl just thinking “oh this dude was stressed n an alter formed to kill someone” rather than understand more nuances of protector alters.
also i am not an expert on DID nor do i have im just worried more how it can be misinterpreted by people who dont go deeper into thinking past what is spoonfed
the more i think on this i feel like ppl would either blorbofy him like haruka or just straight up not get mikoto i did a whole case study on him in my english class i get so upset when people get his character wrong
edit: im glad es is being sensitive this time and not an asshole to the mental trauma mikoto went through they were such an asshole to amane tho
