the worst part is i can't even say he's wrong. they certainly did figure out how to contribute the city by joining the wrgp. but like. this is one of those things where it literally does not make sense. this is insane levels of logic. "we're not sure how to contribute to the city. we think entering a magic the gathering tournament will help." like. imagine saying that fr when your parents ask what you're going to do after you graduate college. "idk. thought i'd play card games and figure it out, man"

Frankly I think Alistair being mildly shitty to that mage in Ostagar seems pretty in-character for the guy he is before the massive, life-altering trauma that is the Ostagar massacre wherein he sees all of his Grey Warden comrades, his beloved mentor/father figure, and his beloathed half-brother/convenient-target-of-projection absolutely torn to shreds by literal Thedas boogeymen. IIRC Morrigan and Flemeth both comment on his wack behavior after Ostagar and then by the time we get to Lothering Alistair just fully surrenders any and all responsibility (and, frankly, agency) to the player's Warden for the foreseeable future. It can then take anywhere from a couple IRL hours to the entire second act of the game for him to retake almost any amount of it back. And depending on the player's choices in dialogue, and especially whether or not they choose to romance him, we may only see flashes of that guy we met at Ostagar before he potentially morphs into almost someone else entirely (hardened!King!Alistair). All that to say, I don't actually think it's a useful criticism of "characterization" to bring up Alistair's glibness as compared to his behavior in the majority of the game because from where I'm standing (looking directly at his snottiness about Cailan, his complaints about being assigned to the Tower of Ishal, his Templar-esque focusing on Morrigan and Flemeth being apostates, his generally pretty brusque manner with the Warden recruits) it seems fairly in-line with the rest of his behavior at Ostagar.

1) GOOD IT'S GREAT, needs a bigger fandom outside hlvrai. Also maybe look into Black Mesa- the fan made modern remake that is *absolutely beautiful,* one of the few games that would probably actually be worth $60, but is actually only $20, and is a faithful recreation with modern technology.

2) siren pups are called houndeyes! Headcrabs are probably p obvious, but also, the squid face dogs are bullsquids, and the three-armed aliens are vortigaunts!

I shall play Blue Shift then fuck yeah!!! Was just about to start Half Life 2 so I’m glad I found that out beforehand and play everything in series! I’m absolutely gonna check out that fanmade game that sounds so cool!

As a kid I was pretty much fully isolated from video games as a whole and honestly it’s been a BLAST playing games that are spoiled or well known for many but completely unknown for me! I finished playing the Portal series a few weeks ago and MAN I now know why it is on such a high pedestal!! The games are wonderful and the characters are absolutely iconic. Currently going through well known earlyish PC games, the Doom games, Portal, Half-Life, and slowly chugging my way through chronologically so I can see how video gaming as a whole progressed and evolved! It’s so neat! It’s really hard trying to play a few games though, lots of games expect you to know a lot of stuff so I have to watch lots of videos to make sure I’m not forgetting a Super Important button that does a Super Important Game Mechanic. It’s so cool tho!!!! I’m having such a great time!!!!!!! Thanks for the ask my guy!! :D

You know what? Two personal posts in a row. Yesterday afternoon I was sent a message by this guy I'm in a Discord server w; I've only met him twice. The first time was only a month and a half ago at a big birthday party for my friend. The person who kinda organized and invited a lotta people to that event just invited like, a dozen or so randos that my friend didn't really know (some of them didn't know him at all) and this guy was one of em. Fine, whatever.

I've only met him twice, again, so I don't have a strong opinion of him, but I could tell pretty instantly upon meeting him that he thought I was attractive. I say this coldly and clinically because when you're aroace you know how to spot the WebMD Signs and Symptoms of a man thinking you're pretty very easily. I know because I am uncomfortable lol and there's a familiar set of behaviors. I didn't think much of it. But my friend has also brought up that this guy has said a handful of weird things to him, which is to me more concerning than someone thinking I'm cute.

But anyway the message he sent me. Right? It was asking me if I wanted to "get tacos tomorrow." I sent a screenshot to my friend and made a snarky little joke "hmmmmmm no" and I also said some elaborating on how, this was a topic I was telling him about the other day. Men will sometimes ask me on something that is clearly a date but not call it a date and it makes me uncomfortable because I'm like, now you're making me reject the very concept of spending time w you rather than giving me an easy out like "actually, no, I don't feel that way about you." It's to protect their egos ultimately.

A group of besties started playing Guild Wars 2... idk, like the other week? Time is fake and everything is an illusion to me, so, anyway, photodump excuse of uhhh... I half-accidentally recreated Tyr & Rhiannon, but GW??? I think, idk, I’ve never played another GW in my life, but look my brainworms are having a great time.

Featuring, I would die for this raptor and also my necromancer minions (he waited for me when I was trying to get a vista, I felt like I’D ABANDONED MY BOY), and also that time I thought “what’s the worst that could happen, let’s do the jumping puzzle” (swtor this is ALL YOUR FAULT, fucking corrupting me into enjoying jumping puzzles and now there’s VISTAS. what the FUCK) and uh, tldr, Tyr was in a really dark jacket (see the lizard pics) and the rest of him just deadass kinda disappeared and I spluttered about this for about 5 minutes.

What’s NOT pictured is landing on necromancer as my beloved took about 3 or 4 other character attempts (including would-be Tyr) and all I’m saying is that I’m now way more familiar with the first 30 levels of the human origin story than I ever planned to be, do NOT ask me why or how I did this, I don’t know, okay? I don’t know. Tyr doesn’t know, Letallia doesn’t know, we all don’t know.

What I HAVE decided: is necromancer fucks. I’d die for these creepy little bony bastards. (They’ve done a lot of dying for me. MVPs, they’ve been real ones) Necromancer fucks and also fuck you, I kind of love you GW2 vistas and other little jumping activities. How fucking dare you do this to me.
