[Wings of Fire] The Ancient Tribes

I've been working recently on developing some lore in my WoF headcanon world. One thing I've been working more on is the evolution of the tribes. One thing I should say before I get into it is that this evolution is not completely accurate. Evolution takes a long time and there just isn't enough time in the series for any of my headcanons to realistically happen, but what's the fun in that. So yes this is not completely scientifically accurate, but I don't care.

I have the tribes' evolution divided into eras or periods. The first one is the ancient tribes, the period of dragons thousands of years before the Scorching and just after. There are three of these tribes.

The AncientWings

The AncientWings were the first dragon tribe to inhabit Pyrrhia. Despite being called a tribe, the AncientWings consisted of a variety of dragons that had different appearances and abilities. Some lived in the mountains and had black scales, some lived in ocean trenches and had dark blue scales, some lived on arctic islands and had ice-blue scales. Even dragons who lived in the same environment had different physical traits and abilities. The only thing in common that all the dragons had were their general size and their bat-shaped wings.

These dragons were unorganized and often lived isolated from each other. Sometimes they would have conflict with each other over treasure as trade was rare. There were not as many dragons back then as there are in modern Pyrrhia. There was a low carrying capacity for the species and due to the solitary behaviors of the dragons, the population didn't grow quickly.

It wasn't until the Scorching that the dragons became united and started to organize themselves. After a single dragon united the AncientWings against the scavengers, she was made the queen of the dragons, and the dragons came together to form closer societies which would be the key to evolution occurring in Pyrrhia.

After the AncientWings started to settle in designated cities, the changes in traits and abilities began. The AncientWings ultimately split into two tribes, the DryWings and the WetWings. I'll get into these tribes in the next evolution period post.

The GrassWings

The GrassWings were one of the two tribes on Pantala. Back before the Scorching, northern Pantala was covered in a tall grassland which was perfect for the GrassWings who would lurk in the tall blades, their green scales allowing them to blend in. Their scales came in shades of green, yellow, brown, or orange to match the different species of grass across the continent. They were sleek, with curvy green or brown horns and grass-like blades on their tail and back. They were rumored to have absorbed energy from the sun and had extensive gardens. Along with that, they could communicate with the other dragons of their species by releasing chemicals that could send warnings to one another.

The tribe was more organized than the AncientWings. They were led by a general who could be any gender and from any family. The generals were often chosen by the general who preceded them.

The GrassWings were relatively peaceful. Although they were aware of the other tribe on the continent, the two rarely interacted and stayed on their side of the continent. Unlike Pyrrhia, Pantala was home to large predators which posed a threat to the Pantalan tribes and kept the tribes busy enough fighting for their lives to establish more complex governments. The GrassWings were also quite solitary, keeping to small family units most of their life.

The GrassWings were one of the longest-existing tribes on the planet. They lived comfortably in their grasslands. It wasn't until the GrassWings had to flee Pantala for Pyrrhia that the GrassWings were introduced to genetics that would alter the tribe. We won't get back to the GrassWings for a little because of how long they existed as a tribe.

The BugWings

The BugWings were the other tribe that resided on Pantala. They had four bug-like wings and scales of any color, but typically darker ones. They had antennae and a stinger on the end of their tail that could paralyze their target. They lived in the young forests of Sothern Pantala where they clung to the sides of trees. They were ruled by a queen and their system of government was primarily hereditary.

The BugWings were a peaceful tribe. They all worked together to help one another and were one of the first tribes to establish a trade and barter system. They lived together in an established settlement where the queen of the tribe led and helped her subjects.

While still on Pantala, the BugWings split into three different tribes; the SilkWings, HiveWings, and NymphWings. Although in modern times it is believed that the SilkWings and HiveWings were a result of Clearsight, these tribes existed thousands of years before the NightWing came to Pantala. The BugWings split into these three different tribes due to the isolation of groups of BugWings living in different regions of Southern Pantala. It is unknown why they split off and refused to recontact one another, but the results were three genetically different tribes which I'll get into in a later evolution period post.

Furnature cleaning: what you should know

When it comes to furniture cleaning, there are many factors to consider, such as different fabrics, patterns, colors, sizes, and more. This complexity makes furniture cleaning more challenging than carpet cleaning. Unfortunately, many carpet cleaners either don't offer furniture cleaning or only provide services for a limited range of fabrics. In some cases, inexperienced cleaners may even worsen the appearance of furniture. Fortunately, the problems caused by inexperienced cleaners can often be reversed by an expert.

I have invested time and effort in acquiring the necessary training and certifications through the Carpet Cleaning Association (CCA). This enables me to provide various methods of cleaning that are tailored to different fabrics and materials. In this article, I hope to share my expertise and help homeowners and carpet cleaners understand the risks involved in cleaning furniture without proper knowledge of fabrics.

The four most common cleaning codes found on fabric furniture are W, S, WS, and X. These codes represent Wet, Solvent, Wet/Solvent, or Dry Clean Only, respectively.

Wet (W) cleaning means that steam cleaning or hot water extraction can be used to clean the furniture. Water-based cleaning agents and a clean towel can also be used to dab out spots. When cleaning, it is best to use plain white towels to avoid transferring any color dye onto the furniture.

Solvent (S) cleaning indicates that the fabric is sensitive to water, and wetting it may lead to permanent water rings or shrinkage. In such cases, it is recommended to use solvent-based cleaners. Solvents help break down oily spots and subsequently dry the area. Vacuuming the fabric after applying solvents will remove the separated soil.

Driclean (X) is designated for furniture that should only be dry cleaned. Dry cleaning involves vacuuming and brushing to remove dry soils. If your furniture is marked as driclean, you may try cleaning a small, unexposed area to test the effect on the material. However, it should be noted that shrinking, staining, or distortion of the surface pile may occur. While the manufacturer may not recommend it, the decision proceed with dry cleaning is at your own risk Sometimes, the damage by the is less noticeable than stubborn stain.

Fabric labeled WetW) and SolventS) (WS requires the use of both methods on different spots For oily areas, use solvents, while water-based cleaners are suitable for water-based spots. The recommended procedure is to start with wet cleaning methods as they tend to be effective against most stains. If that fails, resort to solvents. Alternatively, if you find solvent cleaning easier, you can prioritize it. Having options is always beneficial.

Unmarked fabrics are also common. If your furniture lacks a cleaning code marking or information, always test cleaning agents before using them. If you can identify the manufacturer, reach out to them for proper cleaning procedures. Most likely, they will provide the necessary guidance.
