#throwbackthursday In 2015 I featured Woodrow Wilson Hall, formerly known as Shadow Lawn, at @monmouthuniversity in West Long Branch, #NewJersey. The #mansion was built in 1929 by Hubert Templeton Parson, president of the F.W. Woolworth Company and stands on the footprint of an earlier wood-frame mansion, which was destroyed by fire in 1927. The present mansion, built in the American Beaux-Arts style, was completed at a price of $10.5 million and consists of 130 rooms, including seventeen master suites and nineteen baths! The home boasts fifty varieties of Italian marble and limestone quarried in Belford, Indiana. The building became part of Monmouth University in 1955 and is a National Historic Landmark.
