For once I only made a single batch… normally when it comes to baking I make 2-4 batches of everything. . . This is my Nana Lucy’s recipe for Welsh Cakes and I’ve been in tears most of the afternoon. . . They taste like she made them and the house smells like her kitchen now. . . I felt like I was feeding and giving 12 year old me a massive hug. She still misses her Nana and is still heart broken without her. . . This is a journey I’m going to enjoy. Rediscovering her recipes of my childhood and helping my little inner 12 year old heal a bit of her grief. . . Do you have any recipes that remind you of anyone special? Feel free to share them in the comments below xox #bloosselfreliance #thebloopixie #welshcakes #baking #nanasrecipe #cakeoftheday #foodstagram #instafood #yum #yummy #yumyum https://www.instagram.com/p/Cop11JQKErV/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Emrys' favorite food is simple: bread. If it's bread it's automatically something he loves and he will happily eat it. Aside from that he does have a definite love of honey, though.
But if he had to pick a specific meal then it'd be stewed boar with apples. A rare treat to be had in the legion when he was a soldier but one he developed a strong fondness for.
On the other hand Arthur's favorite foods are just about any dish made with fish, especially some good fish stew. He's also got a hell of a sweet tooth, particularly for anything made with pears, currants, or apples.
That being said he eats most things without complaint.
#an endless tale; headcanon#twelve seals unleashed; arthur pendragon#the heart of a fallen star; emrys pendragon#eating soup and thinking about foods they'd all like while i work on stuff#welshcakes do not last long if arthur is around to spot them and this is why kay has to put guards in the kitchens of camelot

It's even better if you have a nice hefty griddle, but a frying pan is a fair substitute. You can make dairy free versions with vegan butters like vitalife. Rapeseed oil is good for oiling the griddle, too.
I have found a new favorite thing to eat in England: Welsch cake! Found a lovely cafe selling these, also to go, so I bought some to eat and some to go with me.

Tea, Sympathy and Welshcakes - Fibrulating_pink_cat - Star Trek: The Next Generation [Archive of Our Own]
Just posted this side story to the fic I've been writing for ages in between bouts of debilitating illness.
Data is invited to a traditional Welsh tea by the reader who has an unrequited crush on him. Expect the unexpected...

Please feel absolutely free to ignore this because it is by no means your responsibility to iron out my own personal guilt, but I feel emboldened by your response to the previous anon.
Does everything you say apply also to English people learning Welsh? I feel an overwhelming anxiety about it, given all the unrelenting bullshit we have forced upon you, but also you're our closest neighbours and I don't think you should be forced to speak English to me because I won't learn anything else.
I mean, if you're asking for my personal opinion, I actually think it's the duty of English people living in Britain to try and learn whichever native Celtic language is closest to them as part of the decolonisation work they should be doing, so YES ABSOLUTELY YES PLEASE
Even beyond my personal opinion though I have known personally or been told of a few English people who have learned Welsh, and I can tell you categorically that all but one of them was talked about in terms of nodding respect and described as "tidy", an epithet bestowed with great honour in South Wales. And the one that wasn't was a bell-end for other reasons, but even then, he would get grudging respect for nonetheless being a bell-end in Welsh (although he was not described as tidy.)
If you want to learn, PLEASE do. Please please please. With a cherry on top. I'll make you Welshcakes, I'll get the bakestone warming.

So I’ve moved abroad — living in a new country, new city, and studying new areas of law (sometimes in my second language, which is a little scary) . I’m studying international law, which I’ve only done briefly before, and I’m finding it really interesting so far.
It’s new and difficult, but I’m really enjoying my first few days of lectures. I’d like to post here more regularly 😅 and try and keep some motivation going through the semester, so hopefully that works out.
My tea of choice today (and this week) is a welshcake-flavoured rooibos tea (welsh cwtch from bird&blend) which is reminding me of home and keeping me warm as the weather gets cooler <33
