To anyone who considers themselves a witch or spellworker of any kind…
Our family is suffering from our narcissistic abusive father. I need some spells and magickal advice to annihilate all his ability and capacity to emotionally and physically harm. I also want him to face the legal consequences of all that he has done to my mother and us children. I want him to no longer be able to lie or harm in any way whatsoever. And a part of me wants him to suffer tremendously in return for everything that he’s done and everything that he continues to do.
We are also seeking legal advice. Please try to boost this post with knowledge of baneful magick, protection magick, and other things that may be magickally useful for our situation. Encouragement, prayers, affirmations, prayers, and whatever else you’d like is fine too. And please reblog and share if you can, so this reaches more people. We really need help.

Blessed Imbolc/Gwyl y Canhwyllau!
To the Goddess of Spring, the Welsh deity of healing and fire, Braint, hear us welcome you! You have awoken to us cheering your name in prayer! 🐇
🌼Your inner fire brings forth the daffodils out of winter slumber. You call for the ice to thaw and the rivers to flow freely and they answer. May your light bless us on this, your honoured feast day ☀️
Tumblr media
From the wonderful Druids of Anglesey, I invite you to rejoice in this prayer to Braint:
“Braint, Brid, Briganti, Goddess of flame and light,
I sing my spell of swelling bud, light shall conquer night,
Brigid, Braint, Brigantia, a candle to you I raise,
Blessed maiden of the spring, your awakening I praise.”
Wishing you all a very blessed Spring season wherever you are!! 🌱🐥☀️

PSA: although Welsh/Celtic Paganism isn’t a closed practise it is still important to respect native Welsh traditions and customs. If you want to practise then start by learning about Wales, its history and its people.

A pocket altar to honor y Tylwyth Teg (the fair folk) that I have been working on for the last month, and the items I keep inside. Small enough that I can take it with me no matter where I roam. More details under the cut:
The tin is a gift from a friend, it originally housed a lotion bar from a scottish company
The base is lined with green felt surrounded by a ribbon I used in the handfasting cord I made for my wedding
The candle was hand embroidered by my wife. It’s surrounded by hand painted purple felt and embellished with rhinestones by hand for a bit of sparkle
Inside is:
The small bell I found on my first Lughnasadh hike
A bottle of obsidian given to me by a vendor to protect my first talisman, enchantment boosted by me also
A piece of petrified wood I found on a hike with my mother
An old green amber and silver earring given to me as a child by one of my only supportive family members
Hand made charms from my bead collection, 12 in all for the 12 moons in each year, to use to fiddle with while I focus energy or meditate

Quick question, is Celtic Paganism open, closed, or partially both? Because I've heard all different angles and honestly I'm so confused now.
I am not Welsh by blood but have citizenship and have lived here for the majority of my life since I was a child so does it count if I practice? I do consider myself Welsh as I've lived here for so long.

The Houses of the Mabinogi
The Houses of Dôn and Llyr are connected by marriage through Llyr's wife, Penarddun but are diverse in their stories and personalities.
Dôn collage to the bottom left, Llyr collage to the bottom right.
The House of Dôn, apart from the mother goddess herself, boasts two powerful magicians: Math and Gwydion. Also the Goddess of the Wheel of the Year, Arianhod, and her estranged son Lleu Llaw Gyffes are popular characters of this house. The children of Dôn also include Amaethon, the god of agriculture and who started the 'Cad Goddeu' or Battle of the Trees, where all the children declared war against Arawn, King of Annwn. They only won due to Gwydion's expert wizardy with his summoning of a tree army. Finally, the grandson of Dôn, Gwyn, son of Nudd, is popular in Welsh folklore as the king of the Tylwyth Teg (fairy-folk) and leader of the Wild Hunt.
The House of Llyr is smaller in sized but full of tragedy.
Llyr has two sons and one daughter, Branwen. She gets betrothed to the King of Ireland, Matholwch. On return to ireland though, she gets forced into the kitchens. After hearing of his sisters plight, Bran the Blessed, a giant and the King of Britain, wades across the Irish Sea with an army of Welshmen, including his brother and trusted advisor Manawydan. After the tragic death of Branwen's son Gwern, the Welsh and Irish fight until no-one is left but Bran, Branwen, Manawydan and six Welshmen. Unfortunately, Bran finds a poison arrow in his leg and as he is dying, asks Manawydan to cut off his head and take it back to Wales. Upon their return, Branwen dies of a broken heart from her brother and sons death.

Witchcraft in Wales
Tumblr media
Only five people were found guilty and hanged for witchcraft in Wales, in comparison to the estimated 500 executions in England and somewhere between 3,000 and 4,000 in Scotland.
There was a unique outlook on witchcraft in early modern Wales. For centuries Wales has been considered as a land of magic and the supernatural. The English sometimes travelled into Wales in search for soothsayers and enchanters.
There were fears of witchcraft and black magic in Wales however, but accusations played out differently among communities. Additionally, there was a reliance of soothsayers and wise women or ‘healers’, meaning that ‘magic’ was less likely to be brought to the attention of the court.
There are some similarities between Welsh women and descriptions of witches in literature like the Malleus Maleficarum. They included appearance, unreformed religion, and the reliance on charms to heal. Some researchers theorised that the traditional black hat of the Welsh woman inspired the wide-brimmed hat of the fairy tale witch.
