I started doing spinning recently and your comment about male instructors pushing more made me curious and I signed up for a class with a male instructor. I did 5 kilometers less according to their tracking (on the same bike) but the class itself was a lot harder with a lot more muscle involvement
Yeah that's often how it is!
You might cycle less distance wise but you get a better workout. I do SoulCycle so I can't see my distance cycled, I only see my calories burned on my watch, and I always burn more with male instructors.
