Olympic skating legend shares stories with Weyburn audience
Olympic champion figure skater Tessa Virtue shared the story of her rise to success at a special evening hosted by the Weyburn Young Fellows
May 20, 2023
WEYBURN – Olympic champion figure skater Tessa Virtue shared the story of her rise to success as the ice dance partner with Scott Moir, with a Weyburn audience at a special “Evening with Tessa Virtue” hosted by the Weyburn Young Fellows.
The fundraiser supper and silent auction was held on Thursday evening at the Weyburn Exhibition Hall, after the skater was originally to appear here in 2020. That event had to be postponed due to COVID restrictions.
With an audience made up many figure skaters and their families, she shared many memories and stories of her training and competitions in an interview-style talk moderated by Kathryn Gilliss, an Estevan lawyer who is very involved in the figure skating world.
Virtue started by sharing when and how she and Moir were paired up from a very young age, just starting out in figure skating, and in particular, in ice dance.
She said from the start, there was nothing remarkable about them, but she had a love of dance with its artistry and story-telling aspects.
“When we were eight and 10, we worked with a psychologist. She instilled in us the notion that words had an impact on one another. We were aligned in our purpose, and that resonated with us,” she said, noting they watched other skating couples around them bickering, fighting and name-calling, but they determined to respect each other.
When she was 15 and he was 17, they started doing marriage counselling, “even though we were never romantically involved, but every day we committed to building each other up. My goal was make Scott feel like he was the best athlete he could possibly be, and he did the same for me,” she said, adding that from the age of seven up to their 30s, they went through a lot, but what helped them achieve their goals was building up each other’s confidence.
She recalled at the 2018 Olympics, when the music stopped, she saw Scott as a nine-year-old boy. “I got to see my success as his,” she said, and seeing him get his medal meant more to her than receiving one for herself.
Asked about the process of getting into the Olympics, Virtue explained they had four cycles or chapters, and the first one was the goal to win at the national championships in 2006, as it was the Olympic qualifier. They placed second, and as a result were not chosen for the Olympic team.
“I was 16 and I was devastated. I didn’t stop crying for weeks on end,” she said, noting they later committed to each other to never be in that position again.
“We went into the 2010 Olympics so naïve and so innocent. … We had determined to win the world championships in 2009 and the Olympics in 2010, that was our plan. No team had ever gone on to win the Olympics. We knew the cards were stacked against us,” she said, noting they decided to train for 13, 14, even 15 hours a day, and “we wore that as a badge of honour. We totally ran ourselves into the ground, and we thought were training smart.”
The result was a year after those Olympics, she had to have surgery on her shins instead of skating at the worlds.
Skating at the Olympics was a special experience for her and Scott, as she described the feelings she had.
“When we stepped on the ice, there was something about it. I turned to Scott and said, ‘we own this rink’. It seemed that time stopped, things moved both quickly and slowly, and we were completely in synch. We willed ourselves to win. That sounds crazy, but at 20 and 22, we had the country behind us,” she said, adding that the Sochi Olympics was a different story.
They felt a lot of pressure there, as it seemed anything but a gold medal would be a complete failure.
“We were pleased with our performance, but we were so tired and almost disillusioned with the sport, we stepped back from competition,” she said, but it didn’t take long after that for the desire to skate and compete came back again.
“In 2014, we lost ourselves in trying to appease so many other people. We were trying to please the judges instead of knowing who we wanted to be,” said Virtue.
In preparing for the 2018 Olympics in Pyongchang, they spent two years simulating the Olympic experience, playing audience noises before playing the music. When they were chosen to be the flagbearers for Team Canada, the Olympic committee sent the flagpole to them so they could practice with it.
The program they chose for those Olympics was to skate to “Moulin Rouge”, which was Scott’s idea. Their coaches said this was not a good choice of music, but when they skated to it, “they saw us come alive, it was undeniable that was meant for us.”
Virtue said later that was also her favourite program of all of them. Even after the Olympics, they skated in an ice show to that music some 70 or 80 times and she still loved it.
“There were so many layers I could tap into. It came from within us, and Scott was such a fun partner to work off of,” she said.
Referring to her as an “iconic female role model”, Gilliss asked what she would tell her younger self. Virtue said, “I think there’s something really powerful about balance. There are so many benefits to being more well-rounded and trying different activities, like art and music. That exposure is critical. …
“Dreaming big. We have so many role models who show what is possible for women. Just know you have all the tools inside you. You have everything you need to succeed. You’re perfect exactly the way you are. Be you and be your unique self, that’s what the world needs.”

why didn't they just use franziska for literally all of this.
#freya talks aai2#my goals of not being a forgotten/forsaken hater are not going well. he goes from 'kay is a dear ACQUAINTANCE' to 'i've not known her for#very long but i know she'd never kill anyone' to 'you are the kay i know so well' in the span of a few hours and it's like.#okay so you know it was too early in their acquaintanceship for this to really make sense but you still wanted a 'deep' and 'meaningful'#relationship to take the lead in this plotline. his sister is literally right there. it wouldnt have been hard to swap her in either because#she's literally investigating the smuggling situation. it would make perfect sense for her to be there following a lead instead of suddenly#revealing kay's promise notebook went missing. im not saying that the super-gentle super-meek persona would have made more sense with#franziska but honestly it wouldnt have made sense with any of them because it's more a caricature of a character rather than being an actual#previously unseen facet of one but you could've done so many more interesting things with franziska! she has an actual personal stake in#edgeworth's decision to continue as a prosecutor or not and we could get actual insight into how her own relationship with prosecuting and#its inextricable link to her father has affected her as a person. like when you show amnesiac kay the prosector badge all she says is that#it feels heroic warm and familiar like someone she knew used to show it to her often. and like cool. it's basically telling us she and her#father were close. which we already knew. imagine if franziska had said something like that or had had a more complex reaction. there would#be so many avenues to go with that!! you'd even be able to delve deeper into what edgeworth thinks about it all. like what if franziska was#just. happier. without her memories. then you'd have a story where edgeworth has to reckon with whether it might be kinder to let her live a#different life where she's unburdened by literally everything she's been made to go through and give her the same opportunity of starting#over that he now has.#im just writing fanfiction at this point but like. the amnesia plot is so frustrating to me HAHA they dont even do anything interesting with#it!! it's just oh she's lost her memories and we need to get them back because she's not 'herself' anymore without any discussion of like.#the nature of identity or living as who other people know you as vs whoever you might actually be#WHEN THE WHOLE CASE IS ABOUT EDGEWORTH DECIDING ON HIS PATH FORWARDS AND GRAPPLING WITH BEING THE PROSECUTOR EVERYONE HAS KNOWN HIM AS#whatever. WHATEVER.#annotations#some people might argue so it's not rehashing old conflict between franziska and edgeworth and like ok. she literally repeats her 'are you#running away from me again' line during this case. does that sound like the words of resolved conflict?#i know WHY they use kay. it's because they need to justify her place in this game and because they want to play on the pseudo father-figure#thing they played up in aai2 to contribute to the overall themes of fatherhood this game is dealing with. and to that i have to say that i#might just not be the audience for it because i've never bought that version of their relationship and i dont think kay should be in aai2#anyway. plus i posit that franziska would've still worked for that theme because. literally everything. about her.

Summary: max defends his girlfriend and gets into trouble
𖤓 mv x reader ⋆。°✩
𖤓 fluff + slight humour (iykyk) ⋆。°✩
masterlist ☾☼
y/n had been a fan of formula one since she was a child. every parental figure in her life had been a fan of the sport, so it was natural and she got into it too. thankfully, it also made her realise very quickly in life that she wanted to work in the field of motorsports. she wasn't sure yet, and she was still working her way to getting into the sport, but it was a sure, clear path for her.
after meeting max, and falling in love with him, everything had changed. her family approved of the two of them, obviously, and so had his, though she hadn't cared much about jos' opinion. y/n made it clear in the beginning that she wanted to work in motorsports and she wanted to earn her place. she refused to let max talk her up or anything, because he was the kind of guy who would do just that for his girlfriend. max agreed, and promised to keep their relationship private for as long as she wanted.
it had taken her a few years. she bounced from indycar to motorgp to nascar and eventually made her way to f1 as a journalist. she had gained far more experience than she would've gotten if she had only focused on formula one, and she was confident in her abilities to finally be formula one.
max and her had stayed strong throughout, even if they kept their relationship private. she had met and become friends with daniel, lando, carlos, and all of max's friends. they often played padel together as well. mix the competitive spirits that max and she possessed, it was always fun.
after a year of being in formula one as a journalist, max and y/n had decided that it was time to stop hiding. they skipped the soft launch part, and jumped directly into the hard launch phase that left a lot of fans shook.
unfortunately, it also got her a lot of hate. y/n went from being one of the best journalists in f1 to one of the most hated ones for the same reasons that she was loved. the fans adored her because she was a woman of colour making a name for herself in such a sport, and that her parents had sacrificed a lot for her and she was making them proud. now, she was hated because her success became max's story and how he put in good words for her and how she was only with him for the money.
it broke her heart, but max was someone who had received a lot of hate before in his life, so he taught her all the ways to ignore the comments and focus on what she did best. it helped a great deal, but it also made her determined to prove that her career had nothing to do with max.
it was getting better, slowly and over time. max and y/n promised to never lose their temper on the comments. a lot of interviewers and fans had also asked the other drivers on the grid to comment on their relationship, asking if it was ethical for a journalist and a driver to date. but the other drivers always responded with the same thing, always saying how they've known max and y/n for a long time, and their relationship was no one else's business.
unfortunately, after a particularly hard race, max finally lost his cool.
"well, max, it's safe to say that this particular race of yours wasn't the best that you've performed. what do you have to say about that?"
"uh, nothing, really. we just didn't have the pace, and with some mistakes on my side, i lost a lot of points. but, i'm sure we can cover it up next race." max replied.
"you don't have to worry about us writing a bad article about you. your girlfriend and we will only be writing praises, don't you worry. the only difference would be that we won't take your hard earned money like she does," the interviewer laughed, nudging y/n.
the cameras were all focused on them, there were fans nearby, and other drivers. everyone was watching. it was live tv. the entire world was watching. the thick crowd of an audience had their gaze fixed on y/n, and all she could do in that moment was hang her head and try not to cry.
that's the moment max lost his cool. y/n was standing right there, and the interviewer had disrespected her on a very public platform.
"actually, my girlfriend will always tell me what i need to hear, whether it's good or bad. y/n y/l/n, a well known journalist, who is also standing right there with you, will write exactly what happened on track, because that's the part that she reports on. she made her own career, so fuck you for dismissing all of it." max bursted, before he stormed off.
the interviewer was spluttering, not sure how to react, but completely outraged as he forced the fia to take actions on max's outburst. y/n slipped away silently, needing to go back to max.
later on, the fia decided to punish max for using "language during the fia sunday press conference". their decision: obligation to accomplish some work of public interest.
later, an interviewer asked him if he regretted his decision of defending his girlfriend and getting a punishment, max responded, “no.”
“so, what do you think of the punishment given to you? do you think it’s fair?”
“no words.”

Weird Grandpa Dale Story #1
The day started with me digging up cactus. Grandpa Dale had a weird beef with cactuses, bad enough to pay me 10 cents for every pound I turned in. Looking back at it, I think they offended him because they could exist without his consent: They didn't need his water, they didn't need his fertilizer, and they certainly didn't need his permission.
And that, he simply could not abide.
Grandpa Dale had been doing something weird that whole morning. I knew because I'd been able to watch him since sunrise. Every time I took a break from digging cactus to look back at the house, I saw him doing something with the gopher holes.
That made me nervous. Things never went well when he started messing with the gophers. Earlier that month he'd tried gassing them out, and all he got from that effort was nasty looking blisters up both arms. He almost never complained about anything, but he griped all day about how bad those blisters hurt. When his wife suggested that he go to the hospital he said No, what am I gonna tell them? That my trench got overrun? They wouldn't buy that. They'd think I was cooking meth.
Which was funny to hear, but also, true, and also, enough for me to know better than to get involved in future gopher battles.
Which is to admit that I did get involved. But I should've known better. A few hours in, he invited me over, gave me a cold soda, and showed me what he had set up: Two camping chairs, a wicked sharp shovel, a car battery, and a long length of copper wire leading to a pit he'd dug in the middle of the yard. Told me that if I stayed a bit and took a break, cooled down there with a soda in the shade, I'd see something amazing. I asked him if there was even a chance I could get hurt by this "something amazing", and he said "no," which I knew was a bald faced lie. But I believed him because I wanted to believe him. Because I wanted to know what he'd done, and I wanted to sit there in the shade with my grandpa. I also figured, hey, maybe getting gassed taught him a lesson.
(Never, ever assume that the kind of person willing to break out chemical weapons against gophers is capable of being taught a lesson.)
So I sat down in my chair and he beamed at that. He loved having an audience. Then I watched him lean forward and tap the ends of the wire against the battery terminals.
And that's where everything went wrong.
The first thing that hit me was the yard itself. Little bits of sand and grit flying fast enough to hit my skin and bite. It took a year and change for all the little bits to work their way out. But I didn't even feel it at the time, because of what happened after.
I genuinely think he'd imagined the gophers getting launched out of the holes, disoriented but alive. I think that shovel was there to finish them off afterwards. Which also would've been traumatizing, but probably less so than watching each of those cute little gopher holes projectile vomit bloody piles of tattered critter all over the lawn.
Which, spoiler alert, is exactly what happened. The sky fell down, and the ground flew up, and the gophers found themselves with nowhere to go. So they did the next best thing and went a little bit everywhere.
I don't think it was actually silent afterwards, but I couldn't hear shit. There was just this long, ringing period of us looking at each other, then the meat piles, then the lawn crater, then the big buckled section of yard that looked oddly like Rockies just behind us, then back to each other.
I think I did that two or three times before I felt my shoulders start to shake a little. I was crying. Felt weird to cry and not be able to hear it. Like a tic almost, or the way your body seizes up right before you puke.
And then I looked at his face, and I saw him mouth a single soundless word:
Shit.
#Babylon-Lore#babylon lore#this is not the grandpa from the worm story#that's my dad's dad#this is my mom's dad#who was a much more chaotic character#but also lived further away#and thus simply had less chances to be traumatizing#but when he found them#whoooo boy

˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ Fans ship you with another member
── when you've been dating in secret but the fans think you look good with his bandmate
pair ⟢ enhypen x idol!reader
genres ⟢ fluff, one shot, humor
HEESEUNG
Heeseung was not new to the concept of shipping. Getting involved involved in multiple cases himself, he's already come to the point where he has gotten used to all the edits and theories. So seeing his s/o get involved in some of their own was not really a shock.
Until he came across a few tiktok conspiracies of you and Sunghoon after the two of you hosted together for a music show. Comments were flooding with statements of how you both had good chemistry and that you two would make a good couple.
"Should I request the company to get us to MC together for the next show or..." Heeseung suggested, rewatching the edit on his phone.
"You could. Then you could kiss me as part of an adlib too if you want" You joked, knowing too well how that would get the both of you in a lot of trouble. "Don't test me" He replied with a smirk growing on his face
JAY
Award show season was a field day for fans. Other than the awards and performances, people always looked forward to the interactions and stage reactions. And it wasn't any different for the Heeseung and Y/N shippers.
As you were seated in the audience watching your boyfriend, Jay perform his part of their performance with Heeseung, you couldn't help but enjoy yourself with the stage they just put up. But of course, the fans thought differently. Shippers online were talking about how you were gushing and cheering for his bandmate rather than him, which Jay thought was absurd considering that there were two members on the stage at that time.
"I was right there, how could they get it so wrong?" He complained while scrolling through the tags causing you to laugh at his reaction. "If it helps, I could start smiling when you start singing your parts in the next show." "Please"
JAKE
"So care to explain why the internet thinks you and Sunoo would make a good couple?" You turned your head to meet with your boyfriend's face who was pouting while trying to show your ship name trending.
Hundreds and hundreds of tweets talking about the compatibility of you and Sunoo would have has gone wild. So much, that even an article was written about it. 'Not a couple, but we wouldn't mind if they were'
"I don't know. You tell me" You replied as you reached out to grab the phone from his hand to see the edits of you and his bandmate. Most of which talking about how your visuals compliment each other and how you have a lot of similarities. "Hm...we do look cute don't we?" "Hey!" Jake protested, grabbing his phone back. "Individually, yes. Together? No way. You're mine"
SUNGHOON
"You won't believe what I just found" Ni-ki stated as he entered the living room. You were staying over at the Enhypen dorms for the afternoon before you head over for you comeback practice. "There's this fanfiction of Y/N and Jungwon going around"
Sunghoon quickly straightened his back and grabbed the phone from Ni-ki's hand to see what he was talking about. And there it was, a fanfiction of his s/o and bandmate with tons of likes. "Jungwon!" He shouted causing you to grab his wrist. "Oh calm down, it's not like it's true" "Yeah well I'm just saying, if it was about you and me, that story would've been published on bookstores"
"I have nothing to do with this by the way" Jungwon protested as he looked over the maknae's shoulder to see what the commotion was about.
SUNOO
It was widely known about how amazing of a dancer you were. It was one of the things Sunoo loved about you. But it was also one of the things the internet saw as something you had in common with Enhypen's maknae.
When the year-end show's were beginning to be announced, fans rushed online to request a special stage with you and Ni-ki, with some even going as far as calling it a "couple dance".
"Couple dance? What are they talking about couple dance? Just 'dance' is where we draw the line" Sunoo protested with a pout on his face. Amused to see the jealous look on his face, you couldn't help but smother him in kisses. "You're so adorable, you know that? And besides, that just means I have more excuses to visit your practice room"
JUNGWON
It was comeback season for both you and your boyfriend's group. Of course, you couldn't pass on the opportunity on doing a tiktok challenge with them. This time, the task of doing the challenge was going to be with Jake. But it wasn't a problem for you or Jungwon. He still made sure to support his s/o and his bandmate as he watched them film for the video.
That was until they were up and posted, and the comments started talking about how the two of them looked cute and that they were beginning to ship them.
"Okay, from now on, I'll be doing all your tiktok challenges"
"But what if-"
"I will do all of them"
NI-KI
You probably lucked out because it wasn't everyday that you got the chance to film a variety show with yours and your boyfriend's group.
Everyone was having a blast. The whole cast was laughing and joking around, Enhypen and your members seem to be very comfortable around each other, and you get to spend the whole day with Ni-ki.
When a part of the game asked you to pair up with someone else from the lineup, and Jay just so happens to be the person available to the job.
When the show was aired, the shipping was almost inevitable. The edits and the conspiracy theories were everywhere! Contrast to popular belief, I don't think Riki is the type to get jealous over something as silly (as what he describes it) as fans making ship edits, but he will make it a topic at the table.
"Jay hyung, I heard you and y/n-"
"Whatever you have to say, I don't want to hear it"

nakamura kazuha x le sserafim!reader (fluff)
WARNINGS ; scheming, possessiveness (non-toxic)
kazuha lived a hectic life, almost as hectic as her mind.
at age three, she decided to throw herself into a raging fire.
she had listened to one of her close friends (as close as children could get at that age, at least) rave about how fun their after-school activities were. how she felt like the spotlight was on her, and only her.
kazuha would never admit it, but she craved attention. she yearned to be seen and be recognized, to be watched and to amaze. her after-school activities (read: watching cartoons and drawing stick figures for her parents to interpret) left her with a restlessness, one that relayed onto her parents.
("kazuha! stop cutting holes into your blankets!")
nearly all her childhood memories consisted of school and ballet. it was a monotonous rinse and repeat. each day, she woke up with the dull sensation of aching and routine.
it was fun. it was exciting.
kazuha knew she was good. there was no doubt about it. she would get comments from other parents, praising her, and her mom and dad constantly walked around with their chins held high, knowing how well they're daughter performed.
she was a performer. an amazing one at that.
it didn't go unrecognized. as soon as she reached high school, she earned herself a hefty scholarship, attending one of the most rigorous ballet academies in the world.
kazuha had everything a ballerina could ever want to achieve, but somehow, a sudden emptiness started to consume her.
ballet was fun. kazuha knew what to do to get the spotlight. she knew how to catch the attention of the audience. it was a test, a rigorous evaluation of everything she knew in each class, in each recital.
it was a test, one which she had studied.
but nakamura kazuha wanted to perform.
she would've lied if she said she joined hybe purely out of ambition.
kazuha knew about kpop. she wasn't born in the last century. she, although not as diehard as her roommate, liked blackpink and bts. she knew their discography well enough to attend concerts, and her roommate usually blasted some random song from an idol group while washing the dishes.
(she refused to mention her secret twitter page that somehow shifted into a blackpink fan account.)
when she had gotten the email from hybe, kazuha was more than hesitant. she heard horror stories about the training, how foreigners were forced to speak a language they knew none of. kazuha was already accustomed to how rigorous ballet was, but she knew that the language barrier would be the final straw to making her break.
still, she couldn't do this forever. she couldn't die doing ballet, of feeling the dull ache of something missing.
"i don't know." kazuha sighed, gritting her teeth as she thought about that email again.
Dear Nakamura Kazuha...
("how did they find out my email address and my full name?!")
her roommate sighed. "i think you should."
"and leave everything behind?" kazuha shivered at the thought. change was fun as it was scary. "what if my parents say no?.
mina shook her head. "as if they would. they know how your brain works."
kazuha couldn't disagree with her. her parents were her number one supporters. if she decided to be a cashier at the nearest 7eleven, they would support her.
"besides," mina smirked. kazuha always became worried when her friend was smug. "i heard some of the izone members-"
l/n y/n.
"izone?"
kazuha hadn't known much about izone in all honesty.
all she knew was that miyawaki sakura, honda hitomi, and yabuki nako were in the group. she had heard their songs, and although she had always wanted to get into them, she never had the time.
but then there was you.
your minju-unnie said that it was okay that your family group disbanded. she said that it was an opportunity for growth and change, and despite her face full of tears, you tried your best to believe her.
packing your bags was the hardest thing you had to do. your roommates, wonyoung and yujin, were quiet and solemn. it was unlike the three of you. your unnies always heard shouting from your room, whether it was you and yujin arguing over the air conditioning, or wonyoung begging you to go shopping with her.
you were their maknaes.
now, you were no one's.
being a group of thirteen, someone was always left out, no matter how hard eunbi or sakura tried. sometimes, it was one of the two. other times, it was willingly hyewon, trying to avoid working.
sometimes, it was you.
everyone grouped up. yujin and wonyoung were going back to their company, starship. hitomi, sakura, and nako were getting ready to fly back to japan. yena and yuri talked to a bumbling and restless chaewon, crying into their arms. chaeyeon and hyewon were in the corner, worriedly watching eunbi as she scanned everyone's faces.
"y/n-ah."
you turned around, wiping the tears off your face.
"minju-unnie." you couldn't help but smile at the older girl.
minju was your rock.
she was a year older, and almost, if not more, confused than you about the whole idol thing. she was shy and insecure, always double-checking if things were done right.
but she was always there. minju always cared, even when she didn't have time to care.
she was the older sister you had always wanted (regardless of whatever chaewon and yena said during interviews and lives).
"give me a hug."
"okay."
you smiled, holding her tight. you could feel her tears dripping onto your shoulder, and her hand gripping your shirt.
minju was afraid, just like you were.
"i'm still your unnie after this, okay?" you didn't know if minju was trying to convince you or herself, but it didn't matter. "talk to me about anything."
you pulled back.
why did this feel like a goodbye? why did it feel like everyone knew this was a goodbye.
you didn't want them to leave. you didn't want them to forget you.
"unnie-"
"i'll be okay." minju could always read your mind somehow. "everything will be okay."
"okay." it'll be okay. everything will be okay. you'll still have your family members. "i trust you, unnie."
a week later, you, chaewon, minju, and sakura received an email.
everything will be okay.
being okay came in the form of nakamura kazuha.
you had seen her on that video call, talking in broken sentences with a cute accent. she read the paper in front of her, and you could visibly remember the light reflecting the hiragana pronunciation from the back.
a month later, she flew in.
nakamura kazuha was pretty.
a soft knock echoed through your room, the vinyl drowning it out after a few moments. the clock on your table read one am.
it could've been anyone of your group members at this point. maybe it was yunjin, dragging you out to go eat with one of her friends (despite it being past midnight). it could've been sakura, just wanting to sit next to you as she knitted. maybe it was eunchae too, claiming your room was colder despite her living in a different dorm complex. maybe it was chaewon...
you shook your head. chaewon wouldn't leave her room.
the door creaked open, puppy eyes staring back at you.
"hi."
kazuha.
you smiled. part of you was glad that minju never took the offer from hybe, otherwise she would pester you nonstop about your (extremely obvious) crush on the japanese ballerina.
you waved your hand, telling her to go inside. the younger girl beamed at you, a red tint dusting the apples of her cheeks.
"i got something!"
you raised an eyebrow, sitting up as you tried to peak at what she was holding.
"what is it?"
kazuha blinked, trying to calm herself down from bursting at the thought of spending time with you.
it didn't matter to her that you two had been friends for more than a year. being near you was enough to make her heart double in size.
"i, uh, i bought a lego set." she couldn't show that her confidence was wavering. "yunjin-unnie doesn't wanna do it with me."
you frowned.
you loved yunjin as much as the next person did, but you hated it when kazuha talked about her. the ballerina seemed to worship the ground that yunjin walked on.
the worst part was the fact you couldn't blame her. back in izone, there was a moment in time when you had done the same with one of your former members.
minju still teased you about your former crush.
the room went quiet, and kazuha could tell that you were caught in your head again. she always wondered if you thought about her when you were lost in your thoughts. maybe if she knew, she would find the courage to tell you her true feelings.
kazuha fiddled with the box, her voice suddenly a whisper.
"do you," kazuha blushed harder. "do you wanna do it with me?"
although you knew that kazuha most likely went to you after yunjin had said no, you couldn't help but agree. it didn't matter to you that you always seemed to be kazuha's second thought. all that mattered was that she thought of you.
you nodded, and the younger girl couldn't help but smile brightly.
("it'll be a good excuse for you to confess! maybe you'll even kiss her."
"unnie!")
you moved aside, letting kazuha sit across from you. she couldn't help but blush at the feeling of your covers. your room always seemed softer and brighter than hers, just like how you seemed prettier than everyone else.
kazuha sighed. maybe yunjin was right. maybe kazuha had fallen a bit too much in like and ended up in love.
she didn't mind though, not when you felt so familiar to the spotlight.
"these flowers are pretty." you looked closely at the orchids, humming as you traced the box with your finger.
mina had always mentioned how she was a sucker for pretty girls. she vividly remembers the two of them in their second-grade science class, kazuha tensing up whenever her teacher came near, or the time that one of her closest friends back in the academy complimented her physique, and she stiffened up so hard that she strained her neck.
when she first saw you during that video call, she was more calm than she expected. kazuha knew that she was gonna meet her celebrity crush, and the thought of you knowing she existed nearly made her brain short-circuit but she prepared. kazuha wasn't weak-willed.
and then she met you in real life.
somehow, she had forgotten how to speak at all.
("kazuha, right?"
"mmh!")
even after two years, she still struggled to form thoughts around you. it wasn't her fault that you were pretty.
kazuha cleared her throat, her face heating up as she realized how long she had stayed silent.
the two of you got to work quickly, the lull of the record playing. pieces of lego scattered your bedsheet, the two of you (mostly just you) struggling to figure out which piece went where.
"so..." you fiddled with a piece, one that you assumed to be the leaf. "you got these for yunjin-unnie?"
kazuha snapped out of her daze, too focused on completing the set in front of her. she always got too into these things.
"huh?"
"the flowers." you smiled, holding back an 'aw'. kazuha was too adorable for her own good. "you said yunjin-unnie didn't want to build them with you."
kazuha couldn't help but avoid your gaze.
she knew that you weren't exactly the best when it came to anything that required hand-eye coordination and focus. she also knew that she desperately wanted to spend time with you. you had been too busy meeting up with your former members and she had been missing you a bit too much.
she had seen the set while window-shopping.
they looked easy enough, one that wouldn't confuse you as much as the other ones, but hard enough to make sure it took more than one sitting.
it was a perfect excuse.
"oh, um," kazuha didn't know why it suddenly got so hot in your room. "no, i got them just because."
you glanced at her, watching as she toyed with the piece in her hand. you had no reason to doubt the younger girl, but you had to admit it was odd.
you couldn't complain, however. kazuha was here, and that's all you wanted.
the two of you continued, you looking over every so often. the scattered pieces seemed to never end, and despite the younger girl's dexterity, your lack of seemed to prolong the process more than it should've (just like she had hoped).
"this has a lot of parts." you muttered, feeling bad. "i think you picked the wrong person for this, zuha."
kazuha, like always, smiled at you as if she was smiling for the audience.
"i don't mind it taking long."
it was breathtaking.
"if you say so..."
you yawned, rubbing your eyes as you curled up against the futon.
you loved comebacks more than an idol should. it was fun to roam around, exploring the building of whatever showcase it was. being the only extrovert in le sserafim, you also made it your duty to help the others (and yourself) connect with whoever you seemed to cross paths with.
most days, you would already be outside, introducing sakura to whoever walked by.
not today. not when you were running on three hours of sleep.
"y/n-ah," sakura's voice echoed in your brain. "did you see my iron anywhere?"
"chaewon-unnie had it last." you yawned out.
sakura glared at her leader, watching as chaewon dug through her comically large bag. she needed to use it after the show. chaewon couldn't look like a mess in front of min anyone.
the leader stared you down, your peaceful body irritating her.
"snitch."
your mouth dropped open.
a couple years ago, back in izone, chaewon wouldn't dare insult you (although snitch was barely an insult). it didn't matter whether you barged into her room unannounced and left the door open, insulting you was off-limits.
as one of your unnie's once said, insulting you is equivalent to scolding a kitten who didn't know any better.
"i'm telling eunbi-unnie!" you whined, pouting.
chaewon laughed, pinching your cheek as if your threat meant nothing to her. you were basically her little sister after all. the worst thing that your 'mom' would do was scold her.
"like you told her about your crush on zuha?" chaewon snorted as she saw how red your cheeks had suddenly gotten. "how she's so pretty when she dances and how you wanna kiss her?"
you slapped her arm away, embarrassed. you should've known that eunbi had told chaewon (and probably the rest of the other girls) about your infatuation with the ballerina in your current group.
maybe that's why wonyoung gave you a thumbs up when she saw you and kazuha gathering drinks for the rest of your members.
"kkura-unnie!" you turned to the eldest, her figure hidden under a purple blanket. "chaewon-unnie being annoying again!"
you stared at the blob, waiting for it to utter a word. something that hopefully defended you from your child-like leader. sakura tended to take your side, anyway, except when-
you squinted, watching as the blanket shook up and down.
was she...
"stop laughing!" you groaned, throwing your head back.
you thought that somehow, especially since hong eunchae was in your group, chaewon and sakura would stop treating you like a maknae.
it seemed to be worse now, the two throwing jabs at your unrequited crush when the three of you were left alone.
"when are you gonna ask her out, y/n-ah?" sakura sat up, her voice drowning out the door opening. "you can't pine forever."
eunchae looked around, her eyes beaming with curiosity.
"ask who out?"
chaewon screamed as the youngest's voice echoed from behind, her eyes wide open as she jumped onto the couch. somehow, sakura followed with her, the sheer volume of the leader's voice frightening her.
"jesus, eunchae..." chaewon clutched her heart. "you scared me."
beside her, sakura's head hung low as she tried to catch her breath.
eunchae chose to ignore the two, glancing at you with shining wonder.
"who are you gonna ask out, unnie?"
she already knew who you were talking about. eunchae wasn't dumb. she saw the quiet glances and the bright smiles you and kazuha sent to each other. she knew that sakura saw it too.
but somehow, neither you nor your ballerina did.
you bit your tongue, debating whether or not to tell the younger girl in front of you.
you trusted eunchae. the young girl knew how to keep a secret unlike some people (yunjin and chaewon), but you also knew she had a tendency to meddle when the chance was given to her. it was why your junior, minji, and chaewon were so adamant about keeping her and her friend, haerin, away from each other.
you hummed, blurting out the second name that you could think of.
"minju-unnie."
"minju-sunbaenim?" eunchae shook her head. she didn't know you were this bad at lying. "as if chaewon-unnie would let that happen."
all eyes shifted to chaewon as her ears burned a firey red.
"yah!"
eunchae rolled her eyes, pouting as she ignored her leader's half-hearted scolding.
"so?" the youngest continued to press. "who is it?"
you shrugged, not knowing that the two of you were thinking about the same girl. "no one."
"but-"
the door opened, kazuha and yunjin entering the cramped room with a boxful of cheesecake.
chaewon frowned. she had told them to get real food. not dessert.
"what is that?" chaewon glared at the white reflecting the lights.
yunjin looked down, half confused and half serious. "it's a container...?"
with a deep breath, chaewon closed her eyes. she always wondered how eunbi managed to keep some sanity when choi yena, kang hyewon, and ahn yujin were all under her care.
part of her knew that if yunjin was added to that mix, eunbi would combust.
"but i ordered rice...?"
chaewon looked at the proud smile on her member's face. "it's made with flour, so it's close enough."
huh yunjin was gonna give her an aneurysm.
"have you told her yet?"
being ambushed while drying her hair wasn't exactly how kazuha wanted to spend her night.
in all honesty, she had mentally prepared herself to confess to you later today. from the moment her six alarms rang, she knew that she'd do it.
she didn't take into account how many people would stop by and say hi to you.
kazuha frowned. why did you know so many pretty people?
"no..."
yunjin frowned, pointing at her with the fork in her hand. "you said you'd do it today?"
kazuha loved the thrill of the spotlight. she loved showing the world that, not only was she talented, she was confident. she held herself with a poise that she knew many people could never compare to.
kazuha never crumbled under the presence of the spotlight.
why was it so different with you?
"told who what yet?"
kazuha spun around, her eyes wide. it had slipped her mind eunchae usually drank a caprisun around this time. something about her nightly routine...
(kazuha tried to pay attention, but eunchae talked fast, faster than she could translate in her head.)
"what?" yunjin laughed awkwardly, her mouth scrunching up. "told who what?"
leave it to yunjin to make things obvious.
"you're such a bad liar, unnie." eunchae rolled her eyes. "so, who is it zuha-unnie?"
kazuha swallowed air, her fingers nervously tapping on her side. if eunchae found out, there was no doubt that she'd tell you before kazuha herself could.
"no one."
the youngest sighed. everyone seemed to think she was five years old or something. they might as well have told her santa was real.
eunchae shook her head, plastering an unbothered smile on her face.
the maknae had decided a while ago to not get in between you and kazuha. she liked how the two of you acted like two stupid shoujo characters, dancing around their feelings. yes, it frustrated her, but at the very least, she found daily entertainment.
everyone had forced her hand.
"oh..." eunchae nodded. "you're just like y/n-unnie."
kazuha's head perked up almost instantly, like a dog when they smelt a treat nearby.
"what?" eunchae knew something about you? was it something she didn't know? "what about her?"
the youngest bit back a smirk.
"i heard that she was gonna ask someone out."
someone...
kazuha frowned.
someone?
did she know them? were they close to you? was it one of your former members? was that why you had been so busy visiting them instead of paying attention to her?
"who?" kazuha's mind couldn't stop racing as she named all the people you had visited in the past month.
eunchae chuckled, squeezing past her and grabbing a drink from the fridge. "i'm not telling!"
"what?" gears turned in kazuha's head, her frown deepening. "who?"
eunchae smiled. if she was right and kazuha thought like any lead in any of her favorite tv shows, planning a seed of anxiety would be enough for her to finally do something.
"she's probably teasing, zuha." yunjin's voice was laced with nervousness, never before seeing kazuha in such a state of panic.
"maybe..." the youngest sighed.
wow... she was a genius.
"so," the youngest stabbed her juice open, sipping as she acted innocently. "do you guys think minju-sunbaenim is pretty?"
the kitchen went silent.
"...what?"
yunjin's eyes widened. she never knew kazuha's voice could be so intimidating.
"minju-sunbaenim?"
minju? kim minju?
how was she supposed to compete against kim minju?
kazuha liked spending time with you.
she liked how easily she made you laugh, how your eyes seemed to brighten at every word she uttered. she took note of how your cheeks tinged red, and how you'd stare at her as if she was the focus of your attention.
your spotlight was on her.
she'd never tell you, but there was a reason why she had gotten so close to yunjin out of nowhere.
it was obvious how you liked jokes, stupid or not. you laughed at whatever was said, even if imaginary tomatoes were being hurled towards the other person.
huh yunjin always managed to make you laugh, and kazuha knew from the first day she met you that she wanted that as well. she wanted your eyes on her and only her.
("take it."
"a joke book, yunjin-unnie? i don't think..."
"it'll work. trust me.")
now, the spotlight was somewhere else. somewhere familiar... somewhere you were used to.
it was driving her insane.
kazuha looked up, watching as you struggled with the legos in your hand.
"do you like minju-sunbaenim?"
you paused, confusion suddenly appearing in your eyes.
"minju-unnie?"
kazuha, too filled with anxiousness and determination, thought nothing of it.
"do you like her?"
you blinked. kazuha had never been this blunt, nor this flat with you.
your searched your brain for an explanation, but none came to. "where'd this come from?"
kazuha frowned. that wasn't a no.
"eunchae said you did."
you laughed quietly, shaking your head as the girl in front of you sulked. gently, you put the last piece together, staring at the orchid head in your hand.
"don't listen to eunchae." you smiled, her eyes hardening as she took in your words. "she just heard i liked someone and-"
someone?
there was someone, just not kim minju.
kazuha nodded internally. she could compete with someone. in fact, she was sure she would win. as long as it wasn't another person like minju (god forbid it was hyewon), she'd be fine.
hell, she'd fight lee chaeyeon for you.
"who?"
"who?" you blushed under the dim light of your lamp, the thought of confessing to kazuha outright flustering you. "someone..."
the ballerina clenched her jaw. she didn't understand why you wouldn't tell her.
she was greedy. she had always been. kazuha needed to learn to share the spotlight, but she had always struggled with it. she needed to learn to accept that not everything came to her the way she wanted it to, no matter how hard she tried.
"i think we did it!" you smiled, clicking the last piece of the set together. "i'm so glad that's over with-"
she wasn't gonna share you.
kazuha crawled over, not caring that her knee had crushed the bottom of the pot that the two of you worked so hard on.
"kazuha!"
your eyes widened in horror as it shattered under her weight. it took you two hours of work, and so much patience that you felt like you had transcended time at certain points.
kazuha didn't care.
she craved the spotlight. she craved you.
her hand rested on the side of your neck, pulling you into a kiss she had so desperately dreamt of each night.
you barely registered what was going on, your brain hopping from grieve to confusion to flustered in less than a second. her mouth was on yours. kazuha was kissing you.
humming, your eyes screwed shut as you focused all your attention on her. you could taste the faint layer of chapstick on her lips, the one that you had always wondered what tasted like.
sweet. you smiled. like her perfume.
you pulled back awkwardly, watching as she semi-hovered over you, and struggled to maintain her position.
"focus on me instead." she ignored the sharp pieces digging themselves into her knee. "like me instead, unnie."
you looked into her dark irises, her breathing heavy as they searched yours. you couldn't believe how out of nowhere kazuha had been. you had known her long enough to know how she kept her thoughts to herself, rarely speaking out unless something had happened.
you paused.
oh.
"eunchae, you sneaky little..." you shook your head, deciding to scold the youngest another time. now, your focus was kazuha.
her eyes never wavered away from yours, almost as if she was silently pleading for confirmation.
with a smile, you chuckled. "you're the someone, kazuha."
kazuha's face went blank, shifting to her knees.
"huh?" her face heat up. she had never been more embarrassed in her life. "but eunchae said..."
you gave her a pointed look.
"exactly."
kazuha clenched her eyes as she sat back to the opposite of you. how did a fifteen-year-old manage to out-smart her.
i got played.
"so..." kazuha sat cross-legged, glancing sadly at the broken figure in front of her. "i broke our flowers for nothing?"
you couldn't help but let out a laugh, watching as the girl across from you reminisced about the state of the lego set a few minutes ago.
"it's okay." you hummed, picking up the pieces. "it just means more time together."
kazuha hummed happily, going back to work to fix the vase. the more time she spent with you, the better.
together...
that was another conversation for another day.
eunchae stared at the fake flowers on the living room table, smiling as her scheming had worked perfectly.
she was glad that you two were finally dating, even if that meant you and kazuha (poorly) snuck around the dorms.
it was also a plus that she got treats for not telling chaewon about anything (not like she was going to).
"do you know orchids mean love?" sakura said, glancing at her phone.
"love?" chaewon laughed. you were too young to know what love was. "y/nnie didn't even have her first kiss yet."
yunjin's eyes bulged out, not sure if she was hearing wrong. "she didn't tell you?"
"unnie."
"oops."

wouldn't putting Amy and Rouge in the movie feel forced?
the main thing here is that the way the movies have been going just makes it hard for the female characters period. even their already existing female human characters don't really get very much. at this point i can't even decide if i'm happier or sadder that rouge or amy aren't in the movie because as much as i wish they could've been they would still be disserviced if they were in it based on the direction it's going because of how it's centered around shadow's story. it would feel like a shoehorn because they would've needed to be established beforehand, and they already have a huge cast.
it's not a plain argument of "we need them in sonic movie 3 for accuracy" or for the sake of "see they have female characters too!" it's very obvious their stories are going to be told differently and digestable for a broad general audience so there's a very clear emphasis on the more popular/more well-known faces of the franchise, hence knuckles and shadow getting their own big films, which makes sense for what it is as a franchise.
but like it's just really sad that the women have to be pushed further away to have their own moment. the fact that we have to keep waiting for them is just deflating
i'm not anti the movies or anything, i accept them for what they are as their own universe like many other sonic media, and i had fun watching them when i did, i'm just really sad it had to be this way

Ok. About Tenko.
I understand why so many people are angry that he's dead. I really do. I would've loved for him to live as well. I cried when he died.
However.
Just because he's dead doesn't mean his character has been handled poorly. In fact, all things considered, this ending (even though it makes me real fucking sad) makes the most sense for both his character and his story. Let me explain.
First and foremost, there's the matter of Shigaraki's characterization and arc. It goes without saying, but he's an angry, used, and abused child who grew up into an adult who wants nothing more than for everything to end. His goals have always been destructive to an extreme and honestly, the logical end to "let's destroy it all" is LITERALLY everything, including himself. He's also had absolutely zero agency since the moment his parents even thought of conceiving him, and has been struggling to become his own person since the beginning of his arc. He, against his abuser, who covets immortality and eternity.
What better a way for a person such as himself to assert his agency is there than to go out the way he did? To shift his focus away from the faceless masses and to the (similarly faceless, lol) abuser who caused his pain in the first place? To destroy the control AFO has held over him and prove to him that he was always his own person? To say, this is who you molded me into. And because I am who I am, I will now kill you, and take myself down with you, and be glad for it.
(and in the process, destroy the worldview AFO showed us in the Star and Stripe arc, that the ones who survive are the victors. AFO has completely and eternally lost, but Shigaraki is victorious to his last.)
It's his first moment of complete agency in his life -- acting entirely against anyone else's wishes for himself or his actions. And he uses it to do the one thing he's been itching for his whole life -- to destroy the source of his pain.
It's a negative character arc, in a way. It's not what any of us would've wanted for him. In a perfect world, he would be able to recover and readjust, building a life for himself and his found family in peace. He'd be able to experience life fully for the first time, and see that the world is not so bleak after all.
(I'm choking up just thinking about what's been lost. It's a fucking tragedy.)
But not every character arc gets to end happily. Sometimes people do slip through the cracks. That's always been what Shigaraki's character is about.
....and what every other member of the League's characters have been about.
Because here's the thing. The story of Shigaraki's life and death would be incomplete without his relationship to his found family. He's their leader. Their symbol. Their All Might.
Shigaraki's death is not the grimdark, fuck-the-audience, senseless kind of tragedy. He is a martyr, yes, but the people he stood for will in all likelihood survive. He died for the League. His life -- his existence -- brought them together, gave them purpose, and showed them a bright future. It is my steadfast belief that he will be the only death among the main villains. Because this is a story about saving to win, after all. And given that My Hero doesn't like to kill characters off too often and each one of them still has a path to recovery, I think it's a safe assumption to make. Especially since (especially in Toya's and Toga's cases) each of them had a moment of reconciliation at the end of their fights -- the kind of thing that can help them move forward.
And to be honest, we've known for a very, very long time that BNHA is the kind of anime that likes to turn old cliches on their heads. Kacchan did not become a villain during Kamino. La Brava's literal power of love was not enough to win the battle. Deku fought tirelessly to talk-no-jutsu Shigaraki into redemption, and while he did get through to him, he still couldn't save him after everything that happened. It's nuanced and messy in a way that I've come to expect from BNHA.
So yea, Shigaraki died. But Shigaraki also lived. Despite everything that AFO and Kotoro wanted from him (despite the fact that he was never meant to really be alive in the first place), he lived on his own terms and fought so that the people he cared about would be seen. Because he lived, the old world was destroyed, and from his ashes, a better one can be built. He achieved everything that no one thought he could, and reclaimed his life in the process. What better ending could you ask for a tragic character?

Evidence Suggesting Benedict Bridgerton is the Lead of Season 4
As our beloved Colin says, I am indeed looking to the future and needed to make this for my own sanity heading into part 2. Prefacing this also by saying that I see the evidence for Eloise as well - none of this is official confirmation, only an array of hints/reasons why Benedict seems well-suited to being the S4 lead. Thought it might be good to put the evidence together. Some very minor spoilers for AOFAG here.
Already skipped once - To me, this is the biggest reason why Benedict is best suited for (and should be) the lead of S4. Moving Colin's story up a season made sense considering the progression of Polin's story, but if Benedict is delayed again the creators risk pissing the audience off more than they already have. Benedict is often regarded as a source of humor in the show, but if they keep recycling ideas with him, he could very well fall off of peoples' radar and lose his "fan-favorite" position.
"Purposeless" Benedict - Needless to say, Benedict is lost this season. We've known this since his character promo came out. He's lost art and has found himself running into the arms of yet another capable woman, only this one seems to have captured a great deal of his investment. The result? Potential heartbreak. This heartbreak would leave him in a similar state as AOFAG--aimless,
Anti-society - Benedict has made frequent comments throughout this season regarding his feelings on societal pressure. The underlying commentary here relates to class, and we know class is a huge theme with his relationship to Sophie. It's as if the writers want us to be fully aware of Benedict's feelings on these subjects to set up a potential conflict next season.
Dancing Benedict - A minor thing, but there have been quite a few mentions of Benedict's dancing abilities this season. Could be a hint at the masquerade ball.
Cowper-focus/Araminta Cowper - The Cowpers have gotten a fair bit of screen time this season, and not just Cressida. We've been let into their home and have witnessed the interactions between the family members. They seem to be experiencing some financial strain. In addition, a very significant detail was released recently: Mother Cowper's first name is "Araminta," the same name as Sophie's evil stepmother in the book. Curious that this was only brought up just now rather than in previous seasons.
Vauxhall - The code name for season 4 is "Vauxhall," which has a significant connection to masquerades (and scandal in general). Season 2 and 3 code names have all had some connection to the storyline (war and conflict for Kanthony and literature for Polin).
Casting call - there was an announcement about a casting call while shooting season 3 for a lady that would be leading "the next series." I won't get into all the details, but you can find all the details here: https://x.com/vengerb3rg/status/1742173304494936496. It also references the rumored casting of Masali Baduza in Sophie's role.
Luke Newton interview - Luke Newton did an interview where he mentioned that he was excited to see where Benedict's storyline will go next season. The verbiage could indicate that Benedict's arc will take the spotlight in S4. LN also mentioned having a dinner with all of the previous Bridgerton leads + Luke Thompson which could be a coincidence, or could've been a purposeful gathering.
References to Violet moving into a Dower House - Coming directly from S3 P1, we have a discussion between Violet and Kate about Violet moving into a Dower house. Violet throws a masquerade ball to celebrate moving into the Dower house, which coincidentally is where Benedict first meets Sophie. There have been rumors about this ball taking place at the end of S3.
Luke Thompson being nervous about spoiling Benedict's storyline - Maybe he would've been nervous anyway, but some have suggested that Luke Thompson's apparent anxiety about spoiling Benedict's story arc this season indicates that he is being set up to lead S4.
As I said, none of this should be taken as official confirmation, but the evidence stacks up. There's been a lot of rumors and discussions lately, so if I missed anything, please let me know! I'd love to add it to give an overview of evidence.

"(FUCK YOU YOU AQUAMARINE ANGRY LITTLE SHIT!)"
Atop the tall podium, rinsed in an iridescent, golden hue, a celestial rim washing down each corner; trimmed by a dusty silver, shivering with a pearly shine.
"[WHAT DID I DO, HUH? EXACTLY WHAT? DID I STAND WRONG? DID MY EYESIGHT MAKE YOU JEALOUS? AM I OFFENDING YOU WITH MY ABILITY TO SHUT UP?]"
The audience, cornered in the nooks of their seats, twitched and bowed at the rancorous uproar.
"(WELL IIIIIII'M SORRY, I HAD TO CARRY US ALLLLLL THE WAY HERE, YOU GODDAMN CUCK!)"
"Guys…" A well-heighted man, head the shape and hue of a noble planet. "You both won, you don't have to–"
"[WHAT DO YOU MEAN 'CARRY', YOU TURKEY-BRAINED BODY ODOUR-FRAGRANTED PURPLE MASS OF DEPRESSED RODENTS?]" Mind tightly roared from the crease of his lips, whipping his brand new sun trophy onto the podium; a hard, metallic clatter snapping into the flooring. "[IF IT WEREN'T FOR ME, WE WOULDN'T EVEN HAVE INFORMATION OUT THERE ABOUT OUR RIGHTS TO THIS SEAT!]"
"(ARE YOU KIDDING? EVERY CHONNY JASH FAN LOVES ME! I'VE GOT FUCKING APOLOGISTS! YOU'VE GOT PEOPLE WHO FRAME YOU AS THE NARRATIVE'S VILLAIN 'COS YOU SUCK THAT BAD!)"
"[YEAH, AND WHO WAS THE ONE WHO SET UP YOUR KEYBOARDS? AND TRANSLATED SHEET MUSIC INTO SOMETHING YOUR SORRY ASS COULD UNDERSTAND? AND–]"
"(SHUT–)"
"[AND FIGURED OUT HOW TO SET UP YOUR STUPID FUCKING AIR-CONDITIONER, BECAUSE–]"
"(I PAY FOR YOUR PAINKILLER PRESCRIPTION!)"
"['(OHHHHH, I CAN'T FOCUS IN THE HEAT! BUT I WEAR BAGGY HOODIES AND TWO-LAYERED PYJAMAS AND)–']"
"(AT LEAST I DON'T EAT MY GOLDFISHES!)"
"[AT LEAST I DON'T PLAY FNAF SONGS ON THE PIANO AT FOUR IN THE GODDAMN MORNING!]"
"(I WROTE THE BEST SONGS FOR OUR ALBUM! WITHOUT ME, OUR STORY OF HOW WE SUFFERED (MOSTLY BECAUSE OF YOU) WOULD'VE NEVER BEEN KNOWN!)"
"[NAME ONE PERSON WHO USES GOOD DAY AS AUDIO!]"
Words torn from mouth and crashing into each timorous ear surrounding the two, pronounced in a very ired, Australian tongue.
Arms furiously stretched and swung and feet stamped to enunciate visible outrage.
"Yeesh, Moon… I always thought our relationship was bad, but it seems like sun and moons across the universe can get so much worse…" Sun shivered, a quick tug on his coarse yet metallic collar, punctuated by a swift glance to his lunar counterpart. "Over where we're from, we have to deal with living in a giant animatronic mall and occasionally the works of cross-dimensional madness. But over there, it seems to me they really need to learn a lesson about getting along!"
"I could take them in a fight with a small dresser tied to my dominant hand." Moon stared, unblinking, body as stiff as a long rock.
The other contestants watched as the words were rocked and tossed in a staggering hatred.
At one point, Heart's wings had enlarged to mimic that of a threatened bird inflating its stance to appear larger; Mind's chest hummed with the overwork of his fans.
Suns and moons from all sorts of solar systems stationed across the multiverse watched in horror.
Two of them were those guys from Nimona, but I don't know dick about shit about Nimona so you gotta use your imagination for that one.
"Right right, you two have your trophy, just…" The celestial staff member disarmingly motioned their hands, gazing down at the two halves. "What are you going to do with your prize money?"
"(Oh, I'm probably gonna use it on an invasive wildflower and a seven hundred AUD life-sized Lopunny plush.)"
"[To pay off my severe prescription zolmitriptan debt that I'm four months behind on because I spent half my yearly salary on a car that I ended up crashing because of a migraine.]"
Happy tiny niche fandom winning against FNaF and Nimona for all who celebrate

I‘M JUST COMING ON HERE TO SAY THAT SEASON 4 WAS SO ASS!!
LIKE WHO WROTE THE SCRIPT?! FANFIC WRITERS?
I'm beyond relieved that I had already decided to rewrite this season to salvage Zero's character because there's no way I'm accepting this garbage as canon.
Let's be real - Seasons 1 and 2 were the peak of this show. Everything went downhill from Season 3, but I foolishly held out hope that they'd turn it around. Boy, was I wrong. This season was straight up ASS. To be honest, I might even do a season three rewrite as well.
No Sloane? No Umbrella Ben? Don't even get me started on how they literally RUINED Five's character. Five would NEVER betray his brother like that. I can guarantee you that Zero would absolutely hate him this season. Honestly, she would've already checked out from the family as soon as they arrived in that new reality. Him falling in love with Lila was so out of character and almost disgusting to me, because you've known this dude ever since he was in a 13-year-old body. It's just weird to me. I just can't believe that this franchise would ruin probably the most loved character in the fandom. And then they went and made the last part all about his feelings.
Like mother like daughter, I guess. I've never liked Lila's character in the first place, but this season just solidified my stance. She was basically used as a shipping tool. She was already a Mary Sue before. I was just starting to warm up to her in season three because I already had predicted that we were basically stuck with her. They basically turned her into Y/N, and not the likeable kind. That love triangle was completely unnecessary and poorly executed. JUSTICE FOR DIEGO. He should've ended up with Eudora. They should've revived her somehow.
They completely abandoned plot threads from the end of Season 3. What happened to Allison's husband? What about Ben in the subway? And Luther's search for Sloane? It's like they forgot their own story.
The ending was so full with plot holes. They conveniently ignored the existence of other children born from the marigold, which was a crucial part of Lila's backstory. If the timelines are bleeding together, these other children should have caused major issues. The show's always had continuity problems, but ignoring a fundamental part of the story's premise is just inexcusable.
The Jennifer and Ben storyline was a complete waste of time. In previous seasons, they took care to develop new characters like Sloane, and the new Ben in Season 3. Jennifer's story was so rushed and disconnected that I couldn't bring myself to care about her at all. They ditched Sloane for THIS?! Ben's attachment to her made no sense either. It's a terrible way to create an end-of-timeline scenario with a character no one knows or cares about due to lack of screen time.
Killing off the entire cast in the finale is an enormously risky move that can backfire. You need a rock-solid narrative reason and the audience's complete buy-in to pull this off. The Umbrella Academy failed miserably. It felt rushed and lazy, like they couldn't be bothered to explore any other options. We've seen Victor extract the Marigold from Harlan before, so the alternatives DO EXIST.
Klaus's character was criminally underutilized. This dude ALWAYS came through for his family in the end. This time, his character was completely wasted. And don't even get me started on how Allison gets a free pass after all the horrible things she did after they treated Viktor like crap, for the whole third season.
This season was an insult to fans who have invested time and emotion into this show. It's clear the writers have lost their way and have no idea how to properly conclude this story. I'm beyond disappointed and frustrated with how they've ruined what was once a promising series. In Netflix, a series is either canceled or they F up the franchise. They should've just left this show at three seasons and ended it anonymously. Can't believe we waited two years for this?

A Mermaids Sacrifice
1 of the many things I see brought up a lot, is How Will TBHK end? Now Normally I usually don't do these here, but I just have the feeling as to how I think the story of TBHK will end, and I think you may not like the answer. (MANGA SPOILERS AHEAD duh)
⚠️THIS TOOK OVER 9 MONTHS TO MAKE ⚠️
Judging by how this series works, It's obvious that we're not going to get a happy ending, but rather a somber one, this story is about a Girl falling in love with a Ghost, no matter how you look at it they're romance is Doomed from the start and with a reputation of knowing to BREAK their audience, you can tell aidairo is far from ever ending things happily. So here's how I think TBHK will end.
Ever Since the Reveal of yashiro's lifespan being cut short, hanako has been doing Everything in His power to Delay the inevitable, at 1st only wanting to make yashiro happy in her last moments, Until realizing His Love for her and wanting to “Save” her at all costs (as seen with the Picture perfect arc and even going as far as trying to sacrifice her best friend Aoi in her place) with surprisingly more and more issues occurring in the process, the Harder he tries, the more problems occur and yashiro seems to notice this, hence why she offers to stay in the far shore with him, everything that happens seems to be stemming from her Fate. This series is known for being quite Dark, and I don't mean that by saying that it's tragic or anything, I mean that it's Sad. The entire series deals with a lot of dark topics and often finds a way to always end on a somber note, especially when it comes to the seven wonders and their backstories, So with a story structured like that, it's obvious there's only 2 ways this series could end.
OPTION 1: THE BAD ENDING: yashiro's memories get Erased
Before the Events of the recent Chapters, I initially thought that this series would end with yashiro losing her memories; Something that always bothered me about the series is How hanako mentions that the only reason yashiro is able to contact him, is because she's near death, And that normal people like Aoi can't usually summon him, Ever since then, hanako's doing everything to save her, and I think THAT'S the problem. Because he keeps trying to prevent her fate, bad things keep happening, and judging by the recent chapters, I think the Clock keepers know this, hence why they put them on trial, it's the trial of yashiro's fate and how it's affecting the school, technically hanako is breaking the Canon and they decide to go back and change things, with the Newest chapters resulting in the New timeline we see now, but that left the question: What exactly did they change?
Well what if it was her meeting hanako. If the Clock keepers changed that she never met hanako, then her destiny COULD change, if she never met hanako then she never would've made her wish therefore she never becomes his assistant, and that she never destroys the yorishiro's and isn't on the path to dying, yes all of her adventures and memories with hanako and kou would be erased, but in the end she's alive and that's all that matters, and knowing hanako, I think he would be fine with that if it meant Saving her. he would be alone, yes, but she's safe, she gets to live a full life, and that's all he wants; It would be somber but fulfilling ending, one that's not Totally depressing, with her Dying. Plus we LITERALLY almost saw that happen with the severance arc when hanako tried wiping her memory, So there's a good chance that it might happen again, (Side note, and this is after re-reading chapter 112, But I Was TECHNICALLY right, I mean sure it didn't exactly play out as I thought it would, but I WAS PRETTY CLOSE, although instead of it being due to the fact that yashiro never meets hanako because she never made her wish in the bathroom, it was because Hanako DOESN'T EXIST, he never died therefore he Never became the 7th wonder, so my theory was right, it was just in reverse ^^; ) an ending where yashiro gets to Live, but at the COST of cutting her ties to Hanako, along with her memories. In my opinion, I think that would make for a really good ending, 1 of letting go and moving on, however, there's another option, and that's if YASHIRO dies.
OPTION 2: THE SAD ENDING: Yashiro's Sacrifices herself
Now This is the ending I don't want but it seems to be the 1 we're heading towards, are u ready? (Inhale...sigh) Yashiro HAS to Die no matter what; The entire premise of TBHK has been built around yashiro avoiding her Fate, with hanako Doing EVERYTHING to keep her alive, even going as far as to try and have “GOD” extend her life by destroying all the yorishiro's, however, that Exactly seems to be the problem; in Chapter 95 Sakura Reveals the reason why yashiro's lifespan is So short, saying that Yashiro's lifespan is set to run out once she DESTROYS every single yorishiro. Up until now yashiro's only destroyed 4 so far I think, basically only leaving hanako's, the Clock keepers and number 6 and 3s left, but idk if number 6 EATING his still counts but anyway that leaves 3 left, so she's basically been on the path to her fate the entire time, and ever since she met hanako and became his assistant. So what if she never destroys them? If her lifespan is so short because of her destroying the yorishiro's, then what if she never destroys them in the 1st place? if she never destroys them in the 1st place then she isn't on the path to dying, therefore the Events of the series never happen, and that's what I Originally thought, Until I realized that It doesn't even matter, Because the whole reason why hanako wants to destroy them from the In the 1st place, is because of Tsukasa, or should I say, the Entity of the Red house. Literally EVERY SINGLE THING that happens is because of that Damn THING, so it doesn't even matter if she destroys them or not because in the end, it will Always find a way to F#$%k Shit up, eventually resulting in Events playing out, and the thing that Proved that to me, was with how in Chapter 117, Teru kinda confirms this when he talks about how the Clock keepers could just easily reset the New timeline. Saying that because they've already changed things once, who's to say they won't change it again? After all the Only reason why the wonders exist, is to keep balance and order between the humans and Supernaturals, and to keep the Other seven wonders in check, and since they don't exist in this New timeline, there is No telling what could happen if Events ever DO playout again, leading to the Situation we are at now, and he's kinda right in away. To put it “Simply“ The New timeline is LITERALLY a “What if” scenario of What if Tsukasa NEVER Left the Red house, resulting in what we see Now with hanako now becoming Evil, Tsukasa still being a vessel, and the entity still trying to cause Chaos, I think, it's still kinda hard for me to understand what the Entity's whole goal is, and what it's Really after in the end, So if anyone has the answer as to what the Entity's WHOLE DEAL IS, that would be pretty helpful.
Anyway, this actually brings me to the whole theory I have as to How I think this series will end, and it all has to do with 1 character: Tsukasa. What if the only way to prevent these events from happening, is to Stop Tsukasa from ever making that Sacrifice for Amane’s lifespan? if Tsukasa never jumps down that Hole, and never becomes the Entity's vessel, then the Events of this series never happen, after all it's mainly because of Tsukasa that all this even happens in the 1st place, from getting Amane to kill himself, to getting the yorishiro's to be destroyed, to even causing the timeline to be reset. If Tsukasa is the main reason behind everything, then the only way to stop it is by stopping him, or should I say, stopping him from THAT POINT, but there's just 1 problem, the only reason why Tsukasa makes that sacrifice in 1st place, is Because to extend Amane's lifespan, if he doesn't do that then Amane will die, and while I do think aidairo is capable of ending it like that, I don't think that will be the case, I think the Only way this series will end, is if Yashiro ends up sacrificing herself.
Up until now yashiro's fate has LITERALLY been the Driving force of the story, with her having giving up on an extended lifespan twice now, once in the fake world in the Picture perfect arc and another when Aoi was sacrificed in her place, Yashiro is slowly starting to realize that wishes require sacrifice, both figuratively and literally; So what if it Turns out that the Only way this series could end, is if Our MAIN character, ends up sacrificing herself, to change the EVERYTHING. Ever since the chapter where yashiro 1st traveled back in time during the Star festival arc, we've had the possible idea of Time travel being an element in the story, and even more so Now, especially with the stuff surrounding the Red house, Clock keepers, and even the Star festival all having a connection to Time, and what's really interesting about that, is that yashiro seems to be the cause of it. In Star festival arc we see yashiro meet baby hanako when she Time-slips for the 1st time, leading to him to fall in love with her and changing his wish from wanting to be an astronaut, to wanting to see her again, another glimpse of this is when yashiro Time-slips again and this time instead meets tweenage Hanako, leading to his fixation with her growing even more, because he REMEMBERS who she is, heck the Only reason why Tsukasa Even leaves the Red house in the 1st place, is because yashiro or kou (I can't really remember) tells him about the future and how hanako kills his younger brother, leading to him becoming curious and wanting to find out more, resulting in him starting the Events once again.
It seems to me that it's All just an Infinite Time loop, 1 where no matter what, eventually things will playout, And all Because of Tsukasa's sacrifice and yashiro's involvement. Yashiro has Literally been the Driving force of the entire series, so I wouldn't put it pass aidairo if it Turned out that yashiro's lifespan/sacrifice is the Thing that ends up resolving the story; I feel like yashiro will play an important part, 1 where she ends up back time, but at the Point where Tsukasa sacrificed his life for his younger brother, and instead of HIM Jumping down that Hole, it will be YASHIRO instead, resulting her sacrificing herself for AMANE, and probably ending up as the Supernatural. We keep getting so many hints that yashiro will become a school wonder, ESPECIALLY since the opening for TBHK, Has mentions of an 8TH wonder, And ever since I heard about that I IMMEDIATELY thought of yashiro being a main candidate, And with yashiro no longer having her fish form, ya have to wonder: How EXACTLY will that play a part into the story? But the THING that really Set me on to the idea that yashiro could end up probably sacrificing herself, was from 1 Specific panel from the VERY 1ST Chapter of TBHK, one that depicts yashiro Transforming into a fish for the very first time.
As you can see this panel depicts yashiro falling in what looks like, WATER, Obviously to show yashiro Transforming into a fish but the thing that Speaks out to me, is the WAY it's PANELYZED.
Up until Now aidairo has lately been reusing old panels and Scenarios for Newest chapters, (I'll pull up some Examples on screen so you can get an understanding of what I'm talking about) however THIS panel has always stuck out to me for an Odd reason, mainly because it DOESN'T match with aidairo's whole Paneling Style, let me explain. For example if aidairo needs to demonstrate something about a certain character, they'll normally make a small little panel involving little details that people associate with them, for example hanako is always associated with Red camellias, a flower that SYMBOLIZES romantic love, passion, and deep desire, All things that perfectly represent hanako and his relationship with yashiro.
Another example would be how they Stylize things, for example, when a character like Teru's on screen they'll Normally add a filter as if to make them look like they were in a shoujo manga going as far as to even add text bubbles that make them LOOK like they belong in a shoujo manga, this is mainly because we are seeing through yashiro's point of view and this how She SEES them almost like “Princely ” however my FAVORITE example would have to be when there's a Serious scene, and the characters will speak in Black text bubbles, or have even a HINT of Shading in said text bubbles, as if to emphasize the WEIGHT and Impact of the conversation.
This Panel has lived rent free in my head for MONTHS and I never really understood why, that IS Until I read THIS SPECIFIC POST.
Now this post talks about a lot of things regarding TBHK, but the Thing that really Stood out to me was from 1 specific section involving 1 little piece of evidence about the Red house, Specifically, that it was built on top of a Well, and that well just SO happens to be the Same PIT that the Kannagis were sacrificed to. I don't think it's a coincidence that aidairo made this Specific panel filled with WATER, just to later on play with and create more concepts involving water, ESPECIALLY for yashiro, a character they HEAVILY associate with water.
Basically I theorize that yashiro will probably end up Time-sliping again, this time with her going back to THAT POINT, causing her to pull Tsukasa away and instead of him jumping, it will be HER instead, causing not only Tsukasa to still be alive, but Amane as well, and since Amane will never get to meet yashiro at the Star festival, he'll never change his wish therefore he'll never become a Supernatural, and will INSTEAD become an astronaut or a teacher in the end, resulting with yashiro Now becoming GOD or maybe even the 8TH Wonder. If yashiro DOES Die then That would break the Cycle and I think not only save Tsukasa, but Amane as well, because She would be taking his place. I know it seems Crazy but if you REALLY think about it, suddenly things start to make sense, and ya know what, it Really makes for a Perfect ending, because now instead of her being saved by hanako, She will be saving HIM, But anyway that's just my theory. whaddya think, do ya agree, or am I just Completely effing CRAZY?

They can be redeemed
Request by @kitty-chan33
Goes as follows: My request is for the human side of Record of Ragnarok they have a new fighter who is the anti Christ ( a half human demon, who forgive humanity for killing her human mother and what's more she still have hope that they can be redeemed l, ironic that they are a child of the devil ) Is this request okay??
Okay! Before I forget she is a total sweet heart yet can be very scary when fighting as she did killed few minor gods before meeting them, and she's the youngest member of the team
Fem! Reader and platonic
QIN who took one look at you then looked back at Brünhilde like "I want that one as a child". He wasn't surprised to hear you killed a few minor god he supports violence was pretty sure you had a reason " she was in a silly mood your honor ", Qin adores how you're pretty much a two sided coin. On one side you're the sweetest being he could ever ask for, and on the flip side you're a little ball of murder.
SASAKI who mostly likes goofing around with you, you're like a niece he didn't have. You're interested in his odd stories and that's more then enough for him. Sasaki understands being nice but having a backbone to defend yourself, he's like that as well.
TESLA who thinks you're from another universe, we all know he doesn't believe in magic. But he thinks you're a guardian from another universe. He adores info dumping on you about the "evolution of humanity" no matter if you understand it or not. He adores your sweet persona and how even if you're the nicest person known to man you don't let anyone step over you. We wasn't surprised when he heard you killed minor god on you or way to the human side, they were in your way and being insulting and disrespectful, looking down on you for having a human mother. He's not a supporter of violence..unless-
JACK who finds you amusing, you think humanity can be redeemed? Even with a monsters like him in the shadows? Now that's amusing! Jack still treats you like a lady, he's by no means used to being treated with such kindness and thus sometimes appears to be awkward. He can tell you have no ill intentions, your color is one of his favorites.
RAIDEN who cheers on when you fight, he loves strong women, both romantically and platonically, if Thrud is his love then you're his unofficial daughter, he adores that you're a sweetheart that can pack a punch if needed. He's an enabler for both good and bad stuff, so kinda trust him. You'll be fine..in some cases.
OKITA who's your enabler for violence, we ALL saw how blood thirsty he is. Okita doesn't really care, you're his fighting buddy and was smiling ear to ear when he heard you killed some minor gods, they were bad gods no? Then it's fine, they didn't need to live anyways.
ADAM who also finds you amusing and somewhat ironic, I mean...a devil child and redemption? But he knows to not judge a book by its cover, he still finds it funny though. He also finds ironic that the "half daughter of the devil" is the kinder then any "benevolent" god in that audience.
LU BU who is now acts as your semi defender, he takes "she was in a silly mood" to the max. Lu Bu is violent by mature and very much judges a book by its cover, he saw how sweet you were and decided you were weak. And then you murked a few minor gods because "I don't like how they talk". He feels neutral about the whole " I believe humans can be redeemed".
LEONIDAS who's another violence enabler, he's the spartan king what do you expect? Leonidas says you would've been a "great spartan" and adores your kind little self. He lifted you in the air and cheered when he heard about you killing off random insignificant gods.
I haven't posted in literal months I think-
Tbh I've had severe writer's block and I've also been vibing in my bird brain Urogi rp account, bird brain is my hyper fixation now along with demon slayer.

I was wondering what your thoughts were on the battle of fairy tail arc and what if anything you would change. Personally I would have liked it if they Laxus had a better relationship with the thunder legion - or there had been some stuff before that showed they were close so his spiral over the arc into being kinda a dick to them too was more shocking. On a side note, I'm kinda sad they didn't include in the anime the scene where he overhears people bashing fairy tail in a pub and beats them up because I feel it speaks to his character more!
Anyway I've been really enjoying your headcannons and they've made all the arcs you've discussed better in my head lol
Thank you! My goal when thinking up rewrite ideas/alterations is always to enhance the story presented more than fully, outright change it to something else entirely.
I didn't read the manga prior to Grand magic games since I was anime only, but I probably should at some point because scenes like that would be interesting to see!
I fully agree with you on the "Laxus should've cared point". One point I always think about every arc is just how much Mashima doesn't trust his audience to hate villains without making them horrible, sadistic people. Now I don't need villains to be written as redeemable, I myself thoroughly enjoy writing heinous individuals who are cruel to their core with no regard for life outside of their own (and even sometimes no regard for that). But if you want to make a villain that the audience can accept as redeemable you either need to make them complex and sympathetic, or show us their hard earned redemption.
Now, for Laxus, I personally would've made it clear that he cares about Fairy Tail members. Not just the reputation of the guild. Though his ego and insults towards others would often have people believing that. Makarov and Erza would both be capable of seeing through this and understanding that every criticism he has towards his guildmates comes from a place of trying to help them get better to keep them safe. I'd hint at him having a history of being close to guildmates who die or leave due to permanent damage sustained on missions.
This underlying care would be the reason Makarov would believe him to be the one right to take over as master. Because in spite of his inflated self worth, he still cared for his family.
Phantomlord arc would've been his breaking point, I would remove the scene of him saying he'd only help if Lucy dated him (that was only added to make him hate worthy) and have it simply be that he can't be reached due to a mission with the thunder legion. A rift forming between him and Makarov for Makarov letting Gajeel into the guild with no explanation after the dude hospitalized team shadowgear and tormented Lucy would cause him to believe Makarov incapable of putting the safety of the guild above the redemption of enemies.
The battle of fairy tail would be his way of proving to various members that they aren't cut out to be mages because if they can't even take care of themselves in a controlled environment, how can they hope to do so out in the field. He'd have a desperation as well to show that he is the strongest person in the guild thus the only one capable of stepping up to the role of guild master (Him having divine magic in the au would also explain this solid belief, god given magic and all that.) Rather than getting angry when Evergreen, Bixlow, or Freed loses, there would be a resignation that they aren't meant to stay. A sadness to it because he'd have known them all for almost a decade at this point.
"Why would people get frozen in stone" rather than it being all the girls who competed, it would be every member he deemed too weak to compete safely. People who use primarily support magic or haven't been with the guild long enough to make a mark in his memory of what they're capable of. Erza would be post tower of heaven nerf at this point so she'd be far below her normal strength level.
Makarov nearly dying this arc rather than being a moment of elation, would simply reinforce his need to get things done. To prove his own strength and take the position he was destined for.
When Makarov sends him off to self reflect he would note "You can't know what will come of people. Dangers exist in the world whether you're part of a guild or not. People will do as they please and all you can hope is to prepare them for what comes."
I would also throw in a few flashback scenes during the arc, scenes of guild members interacting with Laxus and Laxus meeting/grouping up with the thunder legion. I'm personally partial to Makarov raising Erza post tower of heaven so I'd have loved if prior to this arc we got some Erza/Laxus sibling scenes.
Again: I don't need villains to be tragic always, I think gajeel being a horrible person that has to earn his place is something I like (wish it was better handled) but for characters like Laxus I think them being complex and sympathetic is crucial. Especially when we don't see them until they've completely changed.

GGY headcanons because I've been thinking a little...
==
Greg met Tony and Ellis in September, right at the start of the school year. He was alone and didn't know where to go, but Tony was there like, "Hey, this new kid's lonely. I think we should check on him."
Tony is nice, but also nosy. He likes knowing people, inside and out
Tony finds new kids especially interesting. There's usually more to them being there than others, who just go to the school because they live nearby or thought it was a good school.
This kid, their family, moved here for a reason... Why?
Hurricane doesn't have anything much going for it. While yes, it's the birthplace of Fazbear Entertainment and has the very first, original Pizzaplex, people don't usually move to the town just for that. Parents wouldn't usually do that.
So there's a story there! Everyone has a story.
As for why Gregory's parents moved at all... He has well-off parents who wanted to work with Fazbear Entertainment. Huge economic opportunity. So they moved in from Salt Lake City, you go to Hurricane now my boy
The whole reason Gregory gets glitchtrapped is because of his parents. Karma got them in the end ig....
Gregory is a good friend to both Ellis and Tony. They click immediately, like they've known Greg for years. They know his full name, but Gregory never really went by it back then, sticking with simply Greg (he would've went by 'Gregory' in SB because he forgot he even had that nickname at all.... and while in and out of consciousness before that, even. So Cassie only ever knew him as Gregory)
Rab wasn't around the whole time, lucky for Gregory. He got to know the duo for a few months before that, got close, and clicked super well with them. So he did have a close connection with them before things went wrong, unlike Cassie who he would've gotten less connection with since he didn't really know her (and when he'd met her, he'd just broken free of being controlled for a few hours, with no memory of any events).
Summer came, and Gregory got to test a Freddy's VR game bc of his parents. He would've begged them too, "It's the least you can do for me. You guys don't spend any time with me! Let me come with you to the company building and test the game, pleaseee?"
Something went wrong at the target audience testing. One of the QA testers kept watching him, a blonde woman with green eyes... She was odd, but Gregory brushed the thought away.
That was, until a sharp migraine hit his head, and everything started to go fuzzy from there.
School came back around in September, and GGY happened. Greg acted slightly differently after summer, but it was probably just normal stuff. Right? It's not like there were any stark differences in personality. That's what Tony thought at least, until he dug too deep and... yeah.
To Ellis, his two best friends just went missing. That's all there was, forever, and he just had to deal with that. They were never coming back.
As for Tony, he'd haunt Greg and probably can't quite believe there's life after death
Gregory, at this point, he doesn't remember. So shit falls off shelves, and he hears his name whispered, and he's like, 'huh. must've been the wind... unless, maybe Vanessa's grandma is here? omg Ness, holy shit come here. I think your grandma's ghost is here??"
But it'd get serious when he finds out the truth. When he realises. When he starts getting hurt by this ghost. He tries to communicate (since my Greg is a paranormal believer and Tony owned a DR60 recorder because of him, while Greg owns a REM-pod). Tony is always angry. He's always upset. Gregory finds himself permanently haunted by him.
Rab racked up a few bodies while he was controlling Gregory; therapists, Tony, his parents, and two random kids he didn't even know the name of. Vanny dealt with the rest. Those mostly went to the Tangle, though; Tony was the only one to have a close enough connection to get stuck attached to Greg.

How do you find the motivation to write about Jinhae?
I wanted to write a fic where in the time travel Hae-In somehow became a ruler because she wanted to and has to choose the other one but I felt like it would be too cheesy and the fandom doesn’t seem to like Haein.
Girl— I mean, boi— . . .nevermind.
Fella! Rule of thumb: write what you wanna write. You have the freedom in your hands and what others think is none of your business. ;D
That's how I find my motivation. And also, I always think of how there's little content of Jinhae, so I put it in my own hands and write my heart away to fill what's missing from my favorite couple. Same way of how I write my rarepairs — Minlee, Heeseok, and such — even though nobody might bother to read them since they're not exactly popular, I doubt it matters since I wrote it to make myself happy and one day, the right audience would come to read them. If anything (based on my observation), the fandom doesn't seem to pay attention to Jinhae to an extent, though I understand — there are mixed opinions circulating, such as them being "forced", and Jinhae's development as a couple had a bunch of holes since the story focused on Jin-woo more than his connection to Hae-in, thus leading some people find it confusing like it came out as random, or that it's not simply their taste. However, I would've loved to see the plot focus on developing them individually before getting together, especially when they started off as friends.
Hae-in being the strongest female hunter, finished the Ant Queen off, literally fought Beru twice, fought the Architect while wounded, and is almost on-par with Gun-hee just to be reduced as someone most commonly known as "MC's love interest" is the bane of my existence. She's more than that and Jin-woo was comfortable around her, finding himself letting his guard down and unleashing the childish side of him which he never thought he still had— *inhales* he realized that he could keep Hae-in in his life without the fear of losing another friend. And eventually, those feelings grew into romantic. Hae-in was the one for him and he knew Hae-in felt the same way.
In regards to the fandom not liking Hae-in, I'd rather ignore them as everyone has different takes. But such opinions won't stop me from appreciating my girl, as well as writing fics for my Solo Leveling #1 couple! If you're anxious about it, then stay in the tags where they are appreciated. Be in your safe, happy space! ^^
I'm actually happy when there's a Jinhae fanfic. I only see those in like once in a blue moon. And if I have a superpower to finish my wips and transform the ideas in my mind into words, the AO3 SL tag would be flooded with Jinhae fics. They deserve fics dedicated to them where they fall in love in different ways (un)imaginable; they are fun to write about and there is so much to do with how they act around each other. Dorks, power couple, married couple, them being equally down bad for each other, and so on!
Okay, I might be staying off ajdgakdgsjdh—
Oh a time-travel fic where Hae-in became a Ruler? Interesting! Lol, I wouldn't mind if it comes out as 'cheesy'. I'd still read it and enjoy it — I would read the heck out of it even 😁
Good luck writing, nonnie. I believe in you! ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ
#whoopsie this somewhat turned into a rant ajdgakdgakdh#sorry nonnie! (。・ω・。)ノ♡#solo leveling#jinhae#manawari talks
