I wonder if people realize that if they don't like the way someone is organizing a fandom event, they can just make their own. They don't have to be nasty to the person heading up the event they don't like. They don't have to send anon messages with intent to make them feel bad. They don't have to spread lies about the person heading up the event. They don't have to do anything like this.
They can literally just make their own event. No one is stopping them.
But I guess I shouldn't expect better from this crowd.
#SG week backstage#and to think these people said#if i just did my thing#the person who has been harassing me for years#would leave me alone#well she hasn't yet has she?#why would she drop it now?#I'm still doing it again next year#like#just make your own fucking event

i feel like out of everyone april would be the worst with self-deprecating humor. the boys have self-esteem issues but they're literally all the types to play up confidence or double down instead of addressing them (raph the least, but he can be pretty stubborn at times), but april's momentum only takes her so far and she is pretty willing to admit defeat if her usual methods dont work. the speed at which she falls back into the idea that she cant do anything right,,, there's probably a point where she jokes about it before it even happens to prepare herself for disappointment, right?
#personal#i feel like raph would admit he has problems but the second you try to imply they're like Bad he's like WHAT???? NO#at one point i joked about him trying to pull everyone into family therapy but REFUSING to get individual therapy#because he will just undermine all of that shit even when it's really obvious. ESPECIALLY if he's called out on it#raph gets indignant pretty fast lmao#anyways april..... aprilllllll....... she literally has so much undiagnosed neurodivergent kid energy#she should do self-deprecating humor. she's not actually scared to admit fault like the others can be she's just persistent#actually a pretty good example is her ''my birthdays are cursed'' thing (same btw i get her)#she's so casual about it even though that should be something that's kind of upsetting#but she's just kind of accepted it into her normal. things dont go her way. Lol. Lmao. Whatever. right? (<- is probably a little upset)#i could see her having a ''well what was i expecting'' kind of response to shit going down#because she's so used to failure and disappointment and that's!!! intensely relatable#she's put a lot of walls so it doesnt make it so obvious when she's crushed in the face of her messing up which always seems to happen#because it feels so inevitable that all she can do is brace herself for it. i like to imagine she can find donnie's unguarded sensitivity-#-kind of alarming and frustrating because she hasn't unpacked that part of herself too thoroughly yet#if SHE did that people would shame and laugh at her yknow?#or she'd shame and laugh at herself. it's hard to say what she's really afraid of#maybe of giving up and laying down and letting it all process#despite her intensity april strikes me as deeply repressed. free my girl

are u rocking with eternalholly
Not really... but I think the potential is there!
I won't lie, it hasn't really bitten me the same way shadowvanilla did. I think the thing about Hollyberry's chapters that's drawing me in the most is Hollyberry herself. I find the exploration of Hollyberry's alcoholism, its relation to her being a neglectful mother + ruler, and her possible self worth issues far more interesting than any ship. I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing how that resolves in ch 10.
I think I'm having trouble finding an interesting dynamic between them just yet because we don't know enough about Eternal Sugar. The main appeal to me with beast x ancient ships is the "you are the only one who understands" mentality; they are all literally soulmates (not necessarily romantically), and that divine, irresistible connection is what draws me in, but I don't think we've seen the empty part of Eternal Sugar's struggle that Hollyberry is meant to fill just yet. Based on the little bit of her past we saw, I definitely think there's potential! But as of right now, I only see it as exactly how its presented in canon: Eternal Sugar is obsessed with Hollyberry for specifics we don't yet know, and Hollyberry just wants out (still a fantastic dynamic).
Also just as a personal preference for shipping, I LOOOOOVE a slowburn. That's why shadownilla was so good for me, because it was set up a year ago irl, and AGES ago in fiction (and in my ideal world, it would take them ages beyond where they left off in canon before they approached anything resembling a real relationship). They had a lotta time to cook. But with eternalholly, because Hollyberry is only just now becoming aware of Eternal Sugar's existence, it doesn't really hit the same for me
#I really hope we learn about their soul connection next chapter#especially if it has anything to do with their relationships to family#bc tragic motherhood plotlines (where the mom is treated as her own person and character) get me GOOOOOOD#I was hoping the visual of eternal sugar sitting on the pile of sleeping cherubs would mean something in that regard#whether its metaphorical as in she sees the denizens of her garden as her children and she's being over controlling#or she has a more literal connection to dead children that we don't know about yet#which could pair well with hollyberry being a neglectful and absentee mother to her own children#lots of potential here so i can be patient#I won't go balls to the wall with a ship if it hasn't earned it#in the words of the blue gnat: I! WANT! DRAAAMAAAAA!!!#mailbox

i gotta say i do love durge & minthara just standing in the corner cheering on astarion as he ascends. best enablers in baldur's gate. 💖
#lae'zel was like “no stop this isn't the way” but astarion couldn't hear her because durge & minthara were cheering too loudly#and now that astarion is ascended he and minthara and durge are all just vibing#just constantly praising each other for being terrible & magnificent & plotting world domination together#and lae'zel is finally starting to regret her life decisions i think#which is a smart call because honestly she's fucked#she rejected vlaakith because durge didn't encourage her one way or the other (durge doesn't care who she worships)#but there's no way durge is going to free orpheus. she needs to make use of his ability and then destroy him.#so no one else can ever use it against her once she has the netherbrain for herself#so i don't even know what happens to lae'zel in that scenario#it probably doesn't end well though#but then again it hasn't ended well for anyone else who ever tried to ally with durge#(they're all dead)#technically wyll & shadowheart left the party but the game dialogue seems to treat them as if they're dead#b/c i think it's assumed if they get too far from the emperor's protection then the absolute can get them#which if true means it's kinda crazy shadowheart still left#like wyll didn't know about the artifact yet when he left so that makes sense#but shadowheart must've known that the artifact is bound to durge not her and therefore if she leaves she is essentially killing herself#and yet she still did it b/c she just hated durge that much#god the acts the durge drives people to. smh. lol.#the funny thing is my durge plans to reject bhaal and take the netherbrain for herself#so i think things will actually turn out just fine for minthara & astarion#she genuinely does not mind sharing power with them and would not use the netherbrain to subjugate them#except of course she would not allow them to be able to betray her#but other than that they can have all the power they want#astarion might be resentful since he does seem greedy (the ascended version of him anyway)#but i actually don't think minthara would even be resentful b/c she doesn't seem to mind the idea of sharing power#new dead 3#lolz#name of their metal band... new dead 3

For the longest time, the quintessential song describing Apollo's wrath and consequent murder of Coronis for me was Marah in the Mainsail's 'Your Work isn't Done'.
It's dark. It's seething. Its image of Fate pushing the scorned speaker to complete his foul, terrible work of killing the man who stole his lover away from him is particularly powerful and it's always evoked this gruesomely tragic evolution of a glassy eyed Apollo stumbling through the streets, weak-legged and trembling from the betrayal growning more and more wrathful 'til he can think of no other course than to aim his bow and shoot. The price of betraying his trust is death and Coronis betrayed so much more than just his trust by taking Ischys as her lover.
The song itself captures that sensation of building wrath so well too. From the lonely guitar and vocals at the beginning which evoke this lonely, stripped back but distant grief to the way the singer is practically screaming his refrain of "Your work here isn't done" by the end, accompanied by the full blasting of instruments and an omnious chorus at his side, everything about this song is centered around building stakes, building realisations, building tensions and it creates this feeling of the speaker growing closer and closer with each new verse and chorus that adds to his anger.
There's also the absolute treasure trove of lyrics that work so well for specifically this tale. A brief overview of some of my favourites include;
- There's a crow overhead singing "Oh, Death is my friend."
- And though you think your time has come, the wheels of Fate have spun. Death has declared your work here isn't done.
- There's a girl on my heart safe ashore in her lover's arms
There's just such a vivid image to be drawn here - of Apollo's emotions being swallowed by his rage, of his resolve to end everything the more he bears witness to Coronis' brazen affair. There's even a strong female voice in the first two verses which seem to egg the speaker on in his spiral - a perfect opening to include Artemis who wishes for her brother to hunt that which brought him such pain alongside her. An Artemis who reinforces just what Coronis has done, an Artemis who does not want her brother to repress his anger after such grave an insult just because love was once there.
To me, it was perfect. Apollo's killing of Coronis was a crime of passion, an execution he sometimes cannot even bring himself to commit according to who is telling the tale. It's a wretched situation, harrowing, suffocating and cruel but if not by Apollo's hands, Coronis would simply die by another's. She cannot live after what she has done. The gods simply would not allow it.
AND THEN MY BIAS WAS COMPLETELY WRECKED BY LORD HURON.
Now, let it be known, I am a huge Lord Huron fan. Strange Trails is perhaps the most Apollo-coded album I've ever heard and songs like Yawning Grave and The Balancer's Eye capture such a visceral, gorgeous portrait of cosmic grief and anger that they haven't really left my brain since I first listened to them. Still, 'Setting Sun' from their Lonesome Dream album completely flew under my radar. Maybe it's because the commercial version is so much snappier than the Alive from Whispering Pines recording, maybe it's because I just hadn't listened to Lord Huron's discography in a while but my god. My god.
This song has it all; a quiet menace in its music, a strong male singer who sounds only barely restrained, an absolute HOST of lyrics that are so wonderfully perfect for the scenario -- after getting over how wonderful the song itself is, I immediately dethroned Your Work isn't Done because ultimately, 'Setting Sun' has something in abundance that 'Your Work isn't Done' minimised in order to focus on the wrath driving the song forward.
And that's love.
Setting Sun is so powerful because it's not just a revenge ballad - it's a dirge, a breakup song, a lament, a regret manifesto. So many times during the song, the speaker wonders when his lover stopped loving him. He recounts intimate moments and wonders if his lover was thinking of the other man when she was enjoying herself, wonders if anything she'd said was even real. And I love that so, so much.
Ultimately, Apollo adored Coronis. As inevitable as her death was, he regretted every second of it. No matter how angry, no matter how betrayed, no matter how intensely he was shamed, he still loved her. He weeps for her when she dies, he screams and grieves and cries when he's faced with her corpse. In some tales, no matter the cocktail of emotion driving him, he simply cannot bring himself to kill her. He'd rather cry in Artemis' arms and take his anger out on his own servant than hurt her. His own father has to dispatch Ischys since Apollo can't even bring himself to hurt that which Coronis once loved. Of course, in this case, Apollo's going to kill someone but the point is, it's not a decision of pure anger so much as its this complicated, horrible mix of resolve and lost love.
And my god does Setting Sun capture this conflict, passion, grief and love so well. UGH, I'm vibrating just thinking about it -- there are so many points where I hear its lyrics and can vividly picture Apollo, jaw clenched looking Coronis in her eyes and quietly confronting her.
Coronis, returning home at twilight after spending the day with Ischys to Apollo stringing his bow, "Oh? Is he ready to die for you baby? No, but you know I would."
Coronis lying to him about who she's spent her time with and Apollo's soft, near pained, "Does it hurt when you lie to me? If you asked, I would set you free."
I even really love the image of a Coronis who runs away from Apollo upon realising what will soon happen, not to escape his arrows but to warn Ischys who does not know what will happen. Of Apollo getting into his stance, taking aim at them and gathering his strength as the final refrains rings out "I know I'll never reclaim your love and that's as hard as it gets, so I'll be taking a life when the sun sets."
Other favourite lines of mine include;
- Oh, is he ready to die for you baby, now that the deed is done?
- Tell me when did I lose your love? Was it him you were thinking of?
- And I could never betray your love, you had me heart and soul. You might never have known it girl, but I was all yours.
And ultimately, I just like this conflicted portrait of premeditated murder much more than the crime of passion 'Your Work isn't Done' paints. Crimes of passion - especially when Apollo is concerned - are tragic in their own right, but in Coronis' case, I think I prefer it so much more when there's no way for Apollo's action to be misconstrued for anything other than what it is, especially since he goes on to cut Asclepius from his mother's corpse then carry on with building her funeral pyre. I think there's something so much more impacting about Apollo being unable to hide away from Coronis' blood on his hands and him having to raise Asclepius with those selfsame hands.
Love of the mortal does not supercede the responsibility of the divine. If Coronis' sentence no matter what is death, who better to lead her gently to the knife than he who still loves her?
#ginger rambles#apollo#greek mythology#In conclusion: GO LISTEN TO SETTING SUN AND YOUR WORK ISN'T DONE#I know people generally think stories where a god kills a mortal are always tragic because the mortal dies#but in this case - to me - this is tragic because Coronis has put Apollo in a hell of a situation#like one of the worst ones ever#Apollo HAD to have known Coronis was cheating on him for a long time#why else would he have left the crow to look after her when that's not something he's done for any other lover?#Not even Hyacinthus who was ACTIVELY being courted by like two other people including another god#Just imagining him looking the other way for months on end because he loves her and she technically hasn't slept with Ischys yet#so he's content to let her do whatever she wants on the side so long as she comes home go him even while she's pregnant with his kid#only for her to completely ruin it by ACTUALLY sleeping with Ischys thereby making her cheating an act against their relationship#and against his honour both as her lover and a man? Nevermind how it would reflect on him as a god to be made a cuckhold by a mortal man?#There is literally no universe where Coronis doesn't die for that. Literally none.#If Apollo hadn't killed her Artemis would. And if Artemis hadn't killed her - Zeus would.#Apollo really truly loved her though. He's breaking down in like every version of this story even though his kneejerk reaction is anger#And I just feel like there's something especially poignant about him wanting to be the one to kill her#of him - no matter how much he tried to escape this - squaring his shoulders and taking the shot knowing full well#that it's the mother of his child that he's hunting.#UGHHHHH I LOVE THIS STORY I LOVE IT SO MUCH#Fun fact I was supposed to do something like this for Hozier first but I have had AFWP Setting Sun#on repeat in my brain for almost a full week now. Since I can't do animatics I did this instead.#coronis#lord huron#analysis#I guess?#marah in the mainsail#damn they don't even have a tag on tumblr#ginger chats about greek myths

In 'vis a vis' Janeway doesn't mention B'Elanna in the list of people who're worried about Tom which implies that B'Elanna didn't report the fact that "Tom" grabbed her arm, called her a disappointment and broke up with her (as Janeway definitely would have mentioned it as evidence of him acting strange if she knew about it) which makes sense on several different fronts but also makes me scream and cry loud enough to break glass.
#it reminds me of that time in 'Alice' (NOT related as vis a vis takes place seasons BEFORE 'Alice') but when B'Elanna says Tom:#'practically assaulted me' Janeway's not taking it seriously at all she says 'that doesn't sound like Tom' and I was like CAPTAIN??? DEATH?#but again that has no bearing on this in-universe bc that hasn't happened yet. REALLY I'm screaming and crying about B'Elanna's self esteem#issues which Steth literally manifested the worst case scenario of#Tom's little gesture when he gets back also goes over so well bc of this in MY mind.#Tom wanting her and Tom being with her is something B'Elanna wants regardless of how he actually acts in their relationship#(as long as it isn't abusive). He rarely puts her first without prompting or complaining BUT...he's a handsome human guy who wants her to b#his girlfriend. Ostensibly. And that's a prize you wanna hold onto.#God I love B'Elanna............#did she tell ANYONE or did she just sit with that interaction alone???#her not telling anyone implies that she DIDN'T go 'hey that's not like Tom! I should inform the captain of this incident!'#and that KILLS me dude...she's not like 'Something's terribly wrong with Tom or maybe that's an imposter!' she's like 'Tom said/did that to#me.' SCREAMING. SCREAMING. TOM. YOUR RELATIONSHIP IS /BAD/ WITH B'ELANNA.

Rambling about the Springtrap fangame idea in the tags.
#Once Springtrap actually encounters the player? He's putting on that act mentioned earlier--but what are the instances where it crumbles?#Moments where the player character can just... ask him about his life--and the act briefly disappears for a fond memory he's recalling#Doesn't even need to be asked a question--sometimes just seeing something as the two of you travel around will cause Springtrap to recall#--something. “I think Elizabeth would have loved this... she had quite a lot of toys like this back then.” “A plushie... I gave my son many#“--Like this on many occasions. His favorite was Fredbear... at least I believe it was.” Etc. But sometimes it is hard to remember#Coming across a place that sells ice cream and Springtrap just... staring. Before simply looking at you and being like “Let's move along”#Springtrap#The player character+Springtrap still wandering around--only to come across the horror attraction. It hasn't happened to open yet it seems#But then workers happen to spot the two--and what should have been a simple “walk past the place and keep going” deal... turns into...#Well. A bit of a silly rescue mission for the player character admittedly#These workers just casually take Springtrap away--who is dealing with the springlocks--and now the player character must enter the building#And hurry and find Springtrap+get him out of there so that the two of you can keep traveling#Would also be where the player character might learn a bit more about Freddy's--but takes notice as to how its different to what Springtrap#--Has told them previously#Spring's Chatter

“I’m back!” Shimura cried out, gracefully sliding through the open window of their shared office space. It was a practice they maintained if one of them had to stay tied to the desk (for overdue paperwork, if nothing else). Since she was in the habit of letting her boots hit the floor with a thump, Sorahiko didn’t flinch from the noise.
What did cause him to look up was the lack of any indicators to Sorahiko’s missing lunch. Shimura had been gone for two hours with no warning other than a brief text. His emergency stash of taiyaki eased the worst of his hunger, but he was, to be blunt, annoyed that she hadn’t picked up even a courtesy carton of yakisoba.
And then he forgot to be annoyed.
“Shimura?” he asked.
She twirled around. Her skirt and cape flared, her hair swung with the movement, and Sorahiko gaped, because the flight suit had been tailored, but never had it had to accommodate these particular curves. Thighs. Hips. Waist. Breasts.
The buzzing, useless voice in his head insisted that this could not possibly be Shimura, because for the entirety of their friendship, Shimura had had the figure of a man.
Well. Perhaps he could be more frank in his head.
For the entirety of their friendship, Shimura identified as a woman. It didn’t matter that she hadn’t removed the fish and tackle, or that her pectorals were dense muscle and not fatty tissue. It didn’t matter that she sometimes arrived to the agency with a ghost of stubble, or that her throat had a defined bump. If it weren’t for Japan being a little reluctant to get with the times, Seventh Wonder would be giving Recovery Girl a run for her money at the gendered popularity rankings.
This absurdly fantastical vision of a buxom, muscled woman of incredible stature was undoubtedly Shimura’s dream-goal. But—how?
“Who the fuck hit you with a Sex Quirk?” Sorahiko demanded.
“Sex Change Quirk, Sorahiko,” she corrected. The register for her voice was still low, a warm seductive sound with the same lilt, the same cadence. “And who said I didn’t ask for it, hm?”
“Who, Shimura?”
“Ah, relax, it was Minamori-chan. You know, the lady who ducked the illegal Quirk usage ticket because you’re an ally, and I’m a member of the community?”
“… I remember,” Sorahiko partially lied. Minamori. Illegal Quirk usage ticket, but never recorded. Caught on-site at some independent filming location. His memories informed him it was a barely furnished apartment studio that benefited from Jet’s gusts of wind. Shimura had gotten her number. “I remember her Quirk affects bodies, but didn’t they revert within the day or whatever?”
Shimura stopped at the front of his desk and slapped her gloved palms on the surface. “That’s the thing! I asked her a while back whether or not she’d figured out how to make the change permanent, and—well! You’ll find this funny. For one whole lunar cycle, if you wanted to keep a male body, you had to, uh, empty the tank. So to speak.”
“The tank,” he echoed.
“Come dry every night,” she said, and Sorahiko wanted to sink into his seat and wither away in embarrassment. He didn’t even have a minute to sit with this particular statement, because then Shimura said, “And if you want to keep a female body, you… uh… you have to just. Be. Well. Ejaculated into? Every night?”
“I’m sorry,” Sorahiko said blankly, half his attention fixed on the task of not staring at Shimura’s new chest, eye-catching as that bust was. “The condition for permanence was what?”
“Don’t make me repeat it,” she whined.
He re-worded it for her. “Who the fuck has a Sex Quirk—”
“Sex Change, Sorahiko—”
“Some kind of porn trope of a Quirk with the condition that you need to be inseminated from one new moon to the next?!” he barked. He shook his head like a dog trying to shake water from its coat, except in his case, it was him trying to shake off the thought of Shimura being—goddamn it—fucked raw. And, if it hadn’t been clear yet, bred like there was nothing more to her desired body than her uterus. His mouth twisted. “You don’t need a baby to be a woman, Shimura.”
“I know that,” Shimura said.
“Can’t you transition using, I don’t know, shots and gels?”
“Oh, yeah, sure,” she said, “if I had the goshdarn money, partner.” She gestured at her body, drawing full attention to—everything. If Shimura had been built before, she was stacked now. Sorahiko was rapidly coming to terms with his apparently flexible sexuality. “I didn’t have an issue with how long it would take. I would’ve waited years for the surgeries. The problem is that our medical insurance doesn’t cover transitioning.”
“I know that,” Sorahiko protested. “But surely you don’t want to have unsafe sex with strangers?”
She gave him a cagey look. It was remarkably similar to her guilty one. “It doesn’t have to be with a stranger…”
He jerked upright. Surely—no. They had mutual friends, and friends who were out of each other’s network. People who they wouldn’t have to see for work in the day after a night in bed. But Shimura was circling his desk and trapping him at his seat, kneeling and holding his wrists at the arms of the chair. There was a new curve to her jawline; had she wanted it softened? Was his memory already adjusting to accommodate Shimura’s favored form? She said, “It needs to be nightly, Sorahiko.”
There was something like panic building in his nerves. “Me. Me? The whole time?”
“Do you—not like women?”
The crestfallen note in her voice caused Sorahiko’s panic to boil over. “Women are great,” he said loudly, tripping over the sheer inanity of the statement. “They’re—they’re awesome. I love ‘em. But, uh, I don’t know if you want me to—every night?”
“I trust you,” she said plainly.
This, on top of everything else, lanced his anxiety and bled it clean down to his most basic instinct: to be her best friend, her partner through thick and thin, her fucking (pun not intended, shit) bulwark against the bigots of her family and society. Sorahiko swallowed his self-doubt and steeled himself. He nodded. He said, “Alright, Shimura. You’re happy with how you look, though? No buyer’s remorse?”
She grinned. “Sorahiko, I couldn’t get better boobs if I tried.”
A bubble of helpless, affectionate laughter escaped him. “Ha! Ha, yeah, they’re—geez, you look good, Shimura. You’re happy, I’m happy.”
“I’m happy,” she echoed, and she boosted herself to her feet by pushing her hands against his knees. Sorahiko got a glorious eyeful of her chest rising above him. “We’ll talk after work, yeah? Hash out the specifics.”
“Yeah, sure. My place?”
“You’ve got the nicer bed.”
“And a stocked kitchen.” When Shimura scoffed and pretended to dust off her red half-skirt, Sorahiko cleared his own throat and bravely ruined the mood. Because if Shimura was going to retain her new anatomy and physiology for the future, then… “Should I buy you, uh, sanitary… pads? Tampons?”
Shimura pursed her lips. “Are you asking if you have to suffer period sex?”
“I’d do it for you,” he said honestly.
“That’s…” She bounced on her heels, and it took everything for Sorahiko to study her hair (still shoulder-length, but he knew Shimura wanted to grow it out longer) instead of the new perkiness of her assets. “That’s really heartwarming, Sorahiko! I don’t think Minamori-chan said anything about a menstrual cycle for the first month, but I’ll ask her later.”
“Alright.”
She grinned down at him. “Wanna go clothes shopping with me and Chiyo-chan?”
“I have limits, Shimura.”

I have been reminded that s3 is one big sigh. my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined
#st#karen is flirting with a kid her daughter's age#mike is conforming#hopper is deciding that mike being evil is easier than talking about his feelings#dustin's being all 'woe is me' and forgetting that he left mike behind FIRST at the snow ball#the second hand embarrassment with steve is way too strong#lucas is teasing mike about spending all his time with el AS IF IT WASN'T UNDER LUCAS' INFLUENCE#max is - well she hasn't done anything yet. she's still on mike's side. it's coming though#and el's just stuck in the middle as usual#i hate watching early season robin cause the 'love interest for steve' energy is so strong#BE GAY FASTER#i will soon remember that i do actually like will even if his stans scare me and are insane#he's fine in this season#moreso than everyone else#nancy herself is fine but she's working a job with a bunch of misogynistic assholes when she literally DOESN'T NEED TO#SHE'S NOT JONATHAN SHE HAS THE MONEY#and joyce is running away from her feelings and channeling her grief into magnets that keep making her bob drawing fall off the fridge#everyone is just The Worst#i am the number one championer of character flaws and the growth that comes from those flaws#but jesus it's so much#retroactively we know robin is masking her neurodivergence to appear cool and unaffected too so she's not even free of it#although it's sweet that she's trying to help steve with girls#despite the 'you suck' scoreboard

Literally without fail every couple of weeks my manager will be like "this communication should have gone out already, why have you not sent it???" and I have to find a polite way to be like, girl YOU didn't approve it
#like i literally sent you a draft and also reminded you that it was waiting for you to review idk wtf else you want me to do here#and yet every time something doesn't go out bc she hasn't signed off on it yet (which as she has stressed many times is absolutely required#she comes out with full righteous indignantion like 'WHY have you not done your JOB???' and every time i have to be like 'Hey! That was sen#to you for review [insert day] have you had the chance to review it yet? So sorry if you did and i missed your message ☺️' when we both#fucking know that i didn't miss shit and this is her fault and she'll be like 'ill take a look now.' with this tone like she's letting me#off with a warning and like. maam i literally don't know what you want from me here#we can keep playing this game ig but at what point do you stop with the automatic assumption that its my fault bc its getting embarrassing#its not even that she assumes its me its that she always comes out guns blazing and then has to be like 'oh. well.' like how are you#not embarrassed about this by now

#➤ roger collins & victoria winters. ┊ pain sometimes precedes pleasure, miss winters.#➤ edits & art. ┊ the evans cottage art gallery.#compilation tag#idk I have just been Thinking about this since that gifset lol.#‘I’ll blame it on you‚’ she says — because you are the one who has brought me here‚ she thinks#because she seems to anticipate even in their first meeting that she will play Eyre and he Rochester.#there had better be many more such tête-à-tête’s on the cliff side or she’ll be terribly disappointed !#[and not only cliffside proselytizing: barging into her room at all hours‚ chasing her around town‚ dragging her bodily into the drawing#room‚ and‚ occasionally on a good day‚ an actual genuine date or a meal sometime.]#Roger has –– in theory –– everything that she wants. a family‚ a home‚ a wife and child‚ history and ancestry! boy does he have that!#and yet he is terribly terribly alone in this well he has poisoned.#(from which‚ I might add‚ vicki drinks greedily.)#''What do you want out of life?'' when he's already achieved (or so it appears on the outside) the midcentury blazon of success:#a family‚ a well-to-do office position at which he really does nothing‚ a succession of american-made sports cars.#he may be separated from his wife but together‚ he and elizbeth and david and carolyn form a mimetic image of the nuclear family.#to which vicki is desperate to grasp onto‚ even in its most nightmarish form‚ whether or not she realizes that's why she stays.#but what does he want? he wants the same thing she wants. love and companionship. (that he hasn't yet ruined. that he can't stop ruining.)#she may not precisely understand his type of loneliness but she knows about loneliness among people. she's lived it.#and she knows too about ... a visceral loneliness pushing you to push people even further away (as in the childhood story she tells david).#so she sees through his fronts a lot of the time‚ whether they be a layer of charm‚ or terror. and boy does he hate that. being seen for#something real. where his actions matter and produce consequences. where feeling is real – good or bad.#the little governess and her capacity to find shadows to throw light on! whether they be locked chambers in the basement or the atria.
