Sculptor Ruth Vodicka welds a steel piece at the Sculpture Center, ca. 1955. Vodicka and her work were featured in the Sept. 10, 1956 edition of Life magazine in advance of her first solo exhibition.⁠

According to Life, Vodicka set up her studio in a New York garage in 1953 and impressed onlookers with both her creative talents and welding skills. Her dexterity with torch and rod soon brought in repair requests for everything from sewing machines to automobile panels. This new sideline brought in money and materials she used to support her own practice. ⁠

according to most sources I've found, titanium oxidizes with high temperature. So it being a nice deep purple after some months of 300c temps doesn't seem unreasonable. It's probably pure titanium then i suppose

it took me an embarrassing amount of life to realize that if i wanted to light fancy candles in glass i was supposed to be using like.. a utility lighter., instead of a zippo or whatever.,, if i didnt want to burn my hand. i just assumed pain was the price for Room That Smells Like Christmaslut Pinefuck Spice and brother i was sometimes willing to pay it

Every day I wake up and think about Scorpius and then I go about my day totally unable to do that thing where you’re like “omg my blorbo would wear these socks” or however the post goes. Because he’s a freak and a weirdo. The only thing I do that makes me go “just like my blorbo” right now is get overheated and pretend not to be stressed out.
