A Fragile Gift
Sam and Jake had always dreamed of building a life together, filled with laughter, love, and the joy of raising a child. Their home, a cozy sanctuary adorned with a bookshelf brimming with stories, a warm lamp casting a soft glow, and lush green plants breathing life into every corner, was their shared haven.
Tumblr media
One crisp autumn morning, as the golden sunlight streamed through their window, Sam felt a flutter in his belly—a tiny, miraculous movement that signaled the presence of their child. Jake's eyes sparkled with joy as he gently placed his hand on Sam's growing bump, feeling the life they had created together.
Weeks turned into months, and their anticipation grew. They painted the nursery in soft, soothing hues, carefully selected the perfect crib, and filled the room with plush toys and picture books. Each day, they wove dreams for their child, imagining the first steps, the bedtime stories, and the endless adventures that awaited them as a family.
But life, with its unpredictability, had different plans. In the quiet moments of the night, as they lay together, the weight of uncertainty began to press upon their hearts. Whispers of doubt and fear crept in, threatening to overshadow their joy. The doctors had shared news that Sam's pregnancy was becoming increasingly high-risk due to a developing medical condition that was jeopardizing both his and the baby's health.
Sam and Jake held each other close, their bond growing stronger with each passing day. They faced the journey together, leaning on one another for strength and solace. They attended every doctor's appointment, navigated the maze of medical decisions, and cherished every heartbeat that echoed through the ultrasound machine.
As the doctors determined that a premature delivery was necessary to save Sam's life, their hearts sank. They knew the risks involved for their baby, but they also knew that they had no other choice. With heavy hearts, they agreed to the procedure.
The day of the delivery was a blur of emotions. Sam, filled with a mix of fear and hope, was prepped for surgery. Jake, his hand held tightly, watched as their baby was brought into the world, tiny and fragile.
The days that followed were a whirlwind of medical interventions and intense care. Their baby, though premature, fought bravely, a testament to their love and resilience. Sam, recovering from surgery, watched from his hospital bed as Jake tended to their newborn.
One evening, as they sat together by their baby's incubator, Jake reached out and gently stroked Sam's hand. "I'm so proud of you, Sam," he said, his voice filled with emotion. "You've been so strong."
Sam looked up at him, his eyes filled with tears. "I couldn't have done it without you," he replied. "Thank you for being here for me."
A few days later, the doctors delivered the devastating news that their baby's condition was worsening. Sam broke down, tears streaming down his face. He felt a wave of despair wash over him, a pain so deep it seemed to pierce his very soul. Jake, his heart aching, held Sam tightly, offering unwavering support. He knew he had to stay strong for both of them.
Despite their best efforts, their baby's health deteriorated. In the quiet hours of the night, surrounded by the love of their family and friends, their baby passed away peacefully.
The loss was devastating for Sam, who had carried their child for as long as possible, feeling every kick, every hiccup, and every flutter. His heart ached with a pain that seemed unbearable. He struggled to find solace, haunted by the "what ifs" and the emptiness that consumed him.
Jake was there for Sam, offering unwavering support and comfort. He held his partner close, letting him cry and grieve without judgment. Together, they found strength in their love for each other and in the precious memories they had created.
As time passed, Jake discovered a small, framed ultrasound photo of their baby tucked away in a drawer. It was a reminder of the life they had shared, even if it had been brief. He kept it close, a precious keepsake that held the memory of their child.
In the end, it wasn't the length of time that mattered, but the depth of their love. Their journey, marked by both heartbreak and hope, had forged an unbreakable bond. Sam and Jake's story was one of unwavering devotion, a testament to the power of love in the face of life's greatest challenges.
And so, in their snug, familiar home, surrounded by the memories they had created, Sam and Jake found solace in knowing that their love had made a lasting impact on the world, even in the briefest of moments. Their baby's short life, filled with love and care, had touched their hearts in ways they could never have imagined.

🟨 HAMAS PLAN TO DIG UP BRITISH GRAVES, OZEMPIC PAUSED FOR WEIGHT LOSS, ZOOKEEPER ATTACKED BY CROC
ISRAEL REALTIME - Connecting to Israel in Realtime
▪️OZEMPIC IN ISRAEL.. Min. Of Health forbids sale of Ozempic (diabetes control and weight loss medication) for weight loss, due to availability limitations so that there will be enough for diabetics.  Macabre informed their members they will only cover drugs that have been available for 2 years in Israel - but finances weight loss alternative Wegovy.  The report notes that some Harel private ins. policies have covered the weight loss drugs for a NIS 184 per month co-pay.  Recent reports from the US state that up to 10% of people have tried these drugs.
▪️ZOOKEEPER ALMOST EATEN BY CROCODILE.. Jerusalem zoo worker attacked in a closed enclosure by a crocodile, which jumped on him, bit him and dragged him into the water to drown him (which is how crocodiles attack prey in the wild).  The worker fought back, multiple people came to save him, the animal was killed.  The worker survived and is in surgery at the hospital - wishing him a speedy and complete recovery!
▪️HAMAS PLANNED TO DIG UP BRITISH GRAVES.. (World War 1 cemetery in Gaza, 3,217 British and Commonwealth servicemen are buried in the cemetery.). The Telegraph: Hamas intended to use the bodies of British soldiers buried in a military cemetery in the Gaza Strip as a tool to pressure London. The plan was discovered by IDF forces on January 31 in Khan Yunis.
🔹Bloggers involved in tracking vessel movements claim: within a few days, close to a third of US naval forces is or will be in the Middle East region.
⭕ LARGE EXPLOSION WESTERN GALILEE.. without alarm (sirens and interceptions ONLY occur when rockets/drones are headed for populated areas.  Open areas, fields, farms, forest, no alarms, no interceptions.
🔸DEAL NEWS.. The Saudi channel "A-Sharq" reports on the American private proposal in Qatar, the center of which is the reduction of the presence of IDF forces in the Philadelphi border corridor, but not a withdrawal from it.
.. A permanent ceasefire will be discussed in prep for phase 2. If Hamas does not agree to the Israeli demands then the IDF will return to fighting.
..  Israel will retain the right to veto one hundred names of Palestinian security prisoners to be released.
.. The restoration of the Palestinian Authority to manage the Rafah crossing under Israeli supervision. (Hamas killed the PA people last time.)
.. Deporting a large number of the Palestinian prisoners abroad, particularly those who participated in the massacre.
.. Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan on the ceasefire negotiations:  What the Americans are proposing does not include a withdrawal from the Strip or a ceasefire.  Until now we are only negotiating the criteria and not yet the list of prisoners to be released.  The ceasefire must be guaranteed within the framework of clear criteria.
.. ANALYST: given that everyone (perhaps except the Americans) understands that this is a negotiation to appease the US, it is mainly the blame game. In other words: a situation where everyone wants to blame the explosion on the other side.  All the actors prolong the imagined moment and the imagined becomes the essence that defines the situation and the current reality.

after i was diagnosed with diverticulitis i slowly started to change my diet. now, eating primarily whole foods isn’t always exciting but boy do you feel the difference and i lost 20 pounds in two months 🤦🏻‍♀️
Holy moly admin, I’m sorry 😥 I had to read up on that, it sounds painful. I’m glad you were able to turn your diet around and found a way to stick to it, getting older and the harsh effects that come with it is no joke. The way my metabolism changed between my 20s and 30s is such a kick in my ass. If I don’t do something active every day and even think about a chocolate shake or chicken strips and fries my ass automatically jiggles for like 2 weeks 😭
What are some main staples in your whole food diet? Like do you avoid carbs altogether or just certain ones at certain times? I find that if I don’t eat carbs (flour products, bread, potatoes, rice, pasta and corn), added sugars, processed food, dairy, grains, legumes, alcohol or oils (cooking and all fat oils and butter) 3 consecutive days each week, my cravings for the bad stuff becomes less, my inflammation goes away and I can drop at least 2 pounds a week and that’s without any working out, plus I quit caffeine period. *I’m not a nutritionist or diet expert* It is easy to maintain and each week gets easier if you stick to it, but obviously I’m human so this is not something I do all the time for weeks at a time. I’m a foodie at heart and if I want loaded nachos with a steak and bang bang shrimp on the side, I’m a do it 🤣 especially around that time of the month….but that’s when I’ll up the weight and reps in my workouts too.
you're right, i swear i turned 25 and all of a sudden shit got real 😂 i know exactly what you mean though.. nowadays i have been trying to do at least 10k steps every day (walking or jogging) and weight lift 3/week. 2022-2023 was challenging health wise for a variety of reasons and i felt like a big change was needed. ended up having surgery for my endometriosis/an ovarian mass and promptly put on a medication that basically was like a taste of menopause.. hot flashes, joint pain, insomnia, nauseous all the time.. i'm just now coming off of it and i tell you that shit made it so hard to lose weight lmao i'm hoping things will be stable off of it.
everything you said makes perfect sense to me! the longer i go without eating ultra-processed/hyperpalatable foods in general, the easier it gets and the less i crave them. this year i actually ended up buying and participating in a medical weight loss plan because i NEEDED for someone to.. basically just tell me what to eat. i wasn't technically overweight - i know how to eat low calorie and i know how to lose weight if i need to, but not in a healthy way at all. that really was what changed for me, taking their little nutritional class and receiving a meal plan with tons of details about the different groups and how much to eat each day. i realized i was eating so much MORE food - my meal plan was more than i could even manage most days, and yet i lost weight, like now i look like a different person.. it's crazy. i realize i'm sensitive to sodium and i was really inflamed, even in my face, looking back it was so pronounced. on my meal plan, i couldn't add any salt to my food, only salt free seasonings. so that was a big thing lol to answer your question about staples, it's a little tricky.. i haven't banned carbs at all, but i have reduced them a bit. for instance, i'll still have rice, but i will do 1/4 of a cup or 1/2 cup and load up on veggies. nowadays i just eat the live carb smart bread and buns. potatoes are my FAVORITE, so i just try and eat a bit less of them, corn as well. the tricky part about trying to eat as many whole food meals as possible, is that i don't want to cook a meal every single night. i'm big on meal prepping, but i don't really like to eat microwaved food. i feel like it makes food taste weird, ESPECIALLY chicken, which happens to be my general protein of choice. so i've been eating a lot of beef, eggs and cottage cheese for protein. i love vegetables so there's countless options to add in my rotation. i'm very much still learning what works for me, and like you, i'm a foodie who loves to eat. i'm never going to be someone made miserable trying to stick to a very strict diet. i want to enjoy those delicious nachos every once in a while too LMFAO

In case anyone was wondering where I’ve been lately...
MIL came into town for 10 days,  because...
Husband was having/has now had back surgery. He’s fine, he’s healing really well and doing great, but he’s also banned from bending, lifting, and twisting for 2 months, as well as still occasionally needing pain meds and muscle relaxers so he can’t drive himself places at the moment. Which means we went from two adults splitting chores and childcare to one adult doing all of it plus caring for the other adult as well.
Bean is having A Time with this. Her dad cannot come roll around on the floor and toss her and sit with her at bedtime, and it is UNACCEPTABLE. Also Dad was GONE for a whole day and a half, including an overnight stay at the hospital, and she wasn’t allowed to stay with him. She’s still quite upset about that. And the whole “the surgery was to fix the problems Dad has been having, but before he feels better he’s going to feel worse because of the surgery (that was supposed to make him feel better)” is reeeeeeally hard to understand. It’s hard for Dad to stomach as an adult, poor 3-year-old is confused, angry, and losing her mind just a little bit. Because, in addition to that (and the fact that Grandma was here and now she’s gone and poor thing misses her Grandma)...
Bean is still dealing with gastric issues. Short version: lifelong recurrent symptoms of acid reflux and problems gaining weight (including weight loss, which is a major yikes) when they’re acting up have gotten her sent to a specialist, who believes she has something called eosinophilic esophagitis. Basically it’s when specialized allergen-fighting white blood cells take up residence in the esophagus and inflame it because something in the diet is triggering a kind-of-sort-of allergy, which causes sensitivity to acid backup from the stomach, which is also more frequent in response to said inflammation. It hurts and makes her body hate her is the main gist of it, and the only way to know for sure is an endoscopy and biopsy of esophagus, stomach, and small intestine. But in order for the results to be accurate, she has to be off the meds that have been controlling it. So she’s currently Not Loving Life a lot of the time, and is generally quite cranky.
Plus she got regular sick again. We’re all crossing fingers Dad doesn’t catch it, because coughing while trying to heal poor traumatized muscles in your back is difficult at best.
I’m about to have a minor revision of the nasal surgery I had last year, which really isn’t that big a deal this time because there’s basically no recovery time, but it takes time out of an already packed schedule.
AND on top of all that, I have a conference in two weeks where I’ll be on 3 panels, doing a presentation, and pitching a manuscript to an agent from an agency I really want to work with. Which is awesome! This is, like, life-changing stuff that’s gonna set me on the path to achieving both goals and dreams. It’s gonna be awesome! It’s just a lot. While a lot is already happening.
So I’m gonna be MIA for the foreseeable future while I try to hold down the fort, keep my child as comfy and happy as possible despite her difficult circumstances, put together a professional presentation and prep for panels, polish a manuscript, draft and polish query letters, design and print business cards, line up child care for 3 days (for a child who is, understandably, difficult atm), get husband to and from appointments while also getting to and from my own appointments and getting Bean & Friend to and from preschool daily, and hopefully not explode, all at the same time.
The good news is, in honor of the fact that I’m about to go do some majorly career-launching, future-defining stuff in the next little while, I’m gonna get fancy hair colors for the first time and a few new outfits so I look all shiny and put-together when I have to stand up in front of people and pretend I know what I’m talking about (despite the fact that I’m already running on OJ and caffeine at 2 weeks out and definitely look like it).

Welcome to Chicky's Choices, where I share the foods I enjoy along my journey to finding a healthier and happier me. These are the things I've done; they may work for you, they may not. For years I have struggled with my weight, depression and multiple medical issues. I started this most recent path in February of 2023. I wanted to lose weight before having two scheduled surgeries in June 2023; lumpectomy of left breast and partial hysterectomy. I sought help from a weight loss doctor and with his guidance I changed my mindset and my diet. Along the way, I have realized that I needed to find alternatives to my favorites instead of eliminating the things I loved to eat. I try not to eat or drink anything artificial; no artificial dyes, or sweeteners. I also try not to eat or drink anything with high fructose corn syrup in it. I choose fresh fruits and veggies when I can over frozen or canned. I do some meal prep, but that is mostly because I work 5 days a week as well as tutor up to 3 days a week. I don't have time to cook a fresh meal each day so crock pot meals are a must for us. I try to eat something small (under 200 calories, potion control is important) every 2-3 hours, this is crucial, set a timer to remind yourself; I start around 6 am with breakfast and end around 6 pm with my biggest meal(I'm not sure of the calories of this meal to be honest, I focus on making sure it's healthy and well balanced). I end up eating around 5-6 "meals" or snacks a day and I have lost over 30 pounds. I still enjoy eating out with friends and family on occasion. I try to eat smart and enjoy my life and I hope my blog brings you joy and peace. If you have questions, feel free to ask them. I am not a nutritionist or licensed specialist. I'm just a woman trying to share what has worked for me and help anyone I can. Peace, love and blessings to you all. 💜

fucking hell. turns out ozempic/wegovy/etc is giving people gastroparesis. they are saying "extreme cases" are rare so far. who knows what the definition of "extreme" is. and at this point in my life I am automatically skeptical of declarations that medical conditions are rare. to wit:
In clinical trials, nearly half of people, 44%, who took Wegovy reported nausea, and almost 1 in 4 reported vomiting; both are common symptoms of gastroparesis. In the clinical trials for Ozempic, which is the same medication as Wegovy but given at a lower dose, 1 in 5 people reported nausea and 1 in 10 reported vomiting.
there would be a kind of folkloric poetic justice about this, it's very just-so story, especially regarding those who clear out stocks buying from shady "pharmacies" purely for weight loss. but in the end what we have here is mostly people who did what society and their doctors told them and are now suffering tremendously for it. people losing their jobs because they throw up too much every day to work. fucking horrific.
even better, diabetes is a risk factor for gastroparesis. diabetes. the thing other than weight loss for which these drugs are usually prescribed.
moreover. slowing the stomach is a known side effect for this medication class, but these particular, new drugs seem to have an exciting twist:
What seems to be unusual about cases like Wright’s and Knight’s, Nguyen said, is that they didn’t improve after they stopped taking the medication.
“In my experience, when you stop the GLP-1 agonist, the gastric emptying improves, and it gets better,” said Nguyen, who is also a spokesperson for the American Gastroenterological Association.
so, in at least some cases, the damage seems to be longer lasting if not permanent. who knows!!! this is medically induced dysautonomia, so of course nobody has a fucking clue.
speaking of which, here's the grimly familiar part:
Gastroparesis can have many causes, including diabetes, which is a reason many people are on these drugs in the first place. Women are known to be at higher risk for the condition, too. In more than half of cases of gastroparesis, doctors are unable to find a cause.
“They may just be really unlucky,” said Dr. Michael Camilleri, a gastroenterologist at the Mayo Clinic, said of the people who shared their cases with CNN.
On the other hand, this is how the drugs work, although not many doctors or patients understand this or the problems that may follow, he said.
same bat time, same bat channel.
there's a whole section on surgery risk, too. the reason you're supposed to fast before a surgery involving anaesthesia is to empty the stomach and minimize digestive acids, which can otherwise affect your lungs during surgery in really dangerous ways. if you're on these meds, you can follow your prep instructions perfectly and still have a full stomach when you show up. and patients often don't think to mention this med to the surgical team, because they're not aware of the connection - or even actively hide it, because being on a weight loss drug is embarrassing. anaesthesiologists are Worried.
anyway, since this sadly has to be said in the context of suffering for thinness qua beauty and patients being way too willing to accept awful side effects due to warped relationships with the medical system:
Nguyen, the Stanford doctor, said patients need to pay attention to the side effects. If you vomit once or twice, that might be normal, but persistent vomiting is not.
“They should be evaluated. Consider reducing the dose or stopping the medication,” she said.
“If your vomiting is affecting your hydration or you are having to take other medications to treat the side effects of this medication, then I think it’s time to reconsider.”

I havent been online much
Im busy with irl stuff yes but, ive mentioned before that i have a surgical operation coming up in like June
well basically I had a doctors appointment the other day to yknow prep and measure stuff
It seems I'll have to maintain for a while, where my weight is currently at. :(
I do not want to, but they will notice if my rapid weight loss effects my other stats and that could be harmful for my operation. I really hate this. Im not mentally in a good place at all because of this. I dont want to cease restricting over something like this, but Ive been in the queue for a couple of years and its so close to being over, I have to force myself to "be not-disordered" and maintain.
I do try to remind myself, that Im very likely to lose a ton right after the surgery (post-op diet and also meds side effects) but you know how disordered brains work, its not that simple.
Due to this, I will probably take a break in here from posting but I will check up on moots when I can.

I was supposed to get a phone call from this one specialist that a referral was sent over for (to discuss and begin weight loss in prep for the eventual surgeries) and they never called to schedule anything so I have to call them tomorrow and see what's happening. And that's supposed to happen before any hair removal or anything else, apparently.
Also, the psych never responded to my message or indicated what the outcome of my meeting with him was and where the psych assessment and letter are at now, so that's fun.

Endoscopy vs. Colonoscopy: What’s the Difference and When Are They Needed?
Tumblr media
Have you ever wondered about the difference between an endoscopy and a colonoscopy? While both procedures involve examining the digestive tract with a camera, they serve different purposes and examine different parts of your body. Our specialists from the best hospital in Surat, SIDS Hospital, break down these common medical procedures to help you better understand when each might be necessary.
What is an Endoscopy?
An endoscopy, specifically called an upper endoscopy or EGD (esophagogastroduodenoscopy), is a procedure that examines your upper digestive tract. Using a thin, flexible tube with a light and camera (endoscope), doctors at the best gastro hospital in Surat can examine your:
● Esophagus (the tube connecting your mouth to your stomach)
● Stomach
● Beginning of the small intestine (duodenum)
When is an Endoscopy Needed?
Your doctor performing the best endoscopies in Surat might recommend an endoscopy if you experience:
● Persistent heartburn or acid reflux
● Difficulty swallowing
● Unexplained nausea or vomiting
● Upper abdominal pain
● Unexplained weight loss
● Bleeding in the upper digestive tract
Beyond diagnosis, doctors can use endoscopes to perform certain treatments, such as removing foreign objects, taking tissue samples (biopsies), or treating bleeding ulcers.
What is a Colonoscopy?
A colonoscopy examines the lower digestive tract using a similar flexible tube with a camera (colonoscope). This procedure allows doctors to view your:
● Large intestine (colon)
● Rectum
● End of the small intestine
When is a Colonoscopy Needed?
Colonoscopies serve two main purposes: screening and diagnosis. Common reasons for getting a colonoscopy include:
● Routine cancer screening (recommended for most adults starting at age 45)
● Investigation of abnormal bowel movements
● Unexplained abdominal pain
● Rectal bleeding
● Changes in bowel habits
● Follow-up examination after finding polyps
During a colonoscopy, doctors can remove potentially precancerous polyps, making it both a diagnostic and preventive procedure.
Key Differences Between Endoscopy and Colonoscopy
Preparation
● Endoscopy: Usually requires fasting for 6–8 hours before the procedure
● Colonoscopy: Requires a complete bowel prep, including a clear liquid diet the day before and taking strong laxatives to clean out the colon
Duration and Recovery
● Endoscopy: Typically takes 15–30 minutes, with recovery time of about an hour
● Colonoscopy: Usually takes 30–60 minutes, with recovery time of 1–2 hours
Sedation
● Endoscopy: Often performed with light sedation
● Colonoscopy: Usually requires moderate sedation
What to Expect During Each Procedure
Both procedures follow similar protocols:
You’ll change into a hospital gown
Medical staff will place an IV for sedation
Your vital signs will be monitored throughout
The procedure is performed while you lie on your side
Recovery involves monitoring until sedation wears off
You’ll need someone to drive you home
Risks and Complications
While both procedures are generally safe, potential risks include:
● Bleeding
● Infection
● Reaction to sedation
● Perforation (very rare)
When to Call Your Doctor
After either procedure, contact your healthcare provider or the best gastroenterologists in Surat if you experience:
● Severe abdominal pain
● Fever
● Excessive bleeding
● Difficulty swallowing (after endoscopy)
● Severe bloating or inability to pass gas (after colonoscopy)
Conclusion
Understanding the differences between endoscopy and colonoscopy can help reduce anxiety about these important medical procedures. While they examine different parts of the digestive system, both play crucial roles in diagnosing and preventing serious health conditions. Hospitals that perform the best laparoscopic surgeries in Surat will also be equipped to perform endoscopies and colonoscopies. Remember, early detection through these screening tools can lead to better health outcomes, so don’t hesitate to discuss any concerns with your healthcare provider.
Remember to follow your doctor’s preparation instructions carefully for either procedure to ensure the best possible results and maintain open communication about any questions or concerns you may have.

it’s hard with the gut issues/ impaction. i really can’t do much without provoking discomfort and i don’t have the drugs that could help this….. it just makes me sick how we’re all just winging it and failing miserably at this. there is a way to make the process of eating more bearable, even exciting but without help, like, it’s a very long process. first of all, i never should’ve been purging for 9 years of my life. that is just fucking insane. secondly, going through all the phases of essentially learning how to eat regularly and then what to eat, what not to eat, how much and when, like that’s a process that changes over time based on your circumstances. but it’s the fact that we start out missing that knowledge and there’s no help for the application process so we always start out wrong. the process of correcting these errors takes several years and it will never be perfected. generally speaking, it can’t be, but it could come close. i believe that it could absolutely come close if the support was there. so it just makes me sick to watch. i’ve done the thing. i’ve done all the things. and the overexercise and large portions just isn’t cutting it. that’s not a mistake i can do again given how badly it affected my gut or rather exacerbated what was already wrong in the first place. and it can be part of the process for some people but it’s honestly a process that doesn’t need to happen to begin with because it’s faulty. so it’s like really shitty watching people go through that because i just went through it. restriction by itself isn’t any better but the reality is, it’s the closest thing we have to “recovery” and eating better. if you can eat throughout the day, you’re kind of halfway there. it’s not a completely novel experience than if you’re doing otherwise i.e. b/p, overexercising, fasting etc. ultimately it’s just safer and less chaotic. so i am now living the goal i had in mind. so things have improved since like May for instance but it’s been quite the lengthy process and it’s not over yet.
i don’t have the health privilege to exercise like that anymore. i don’t want to push myself. i’ve already achieved my running goals. like i’ve done it. what i haven’t done is low weight mainetance and finding stability with my diet. so that’s my current goal. the body doesn’t want to overexert itself with excess movement. that’s why the olympics exist because it’s the outliers that push their bodies to extremes and do beautiful things with it. but these athletes, they dedicate their lives to their craft….they have dieticians, physical therapists and coaches. they’ve got all the support. full body massages 3x a day, they’ve got chefs doing the cooking and meal prepping for them, they’ve got surgeries and xrays right away whenever something goes wrong. you know, that’s not my life. i don’t have that and i will never have that because i’m not an olympian. so it’s like less = more because it’s sustainable. if i run under 5km today, i can honestly run every single day for 365 days if i choose to and i can totally succeed at that because i’m not pushing my body beyond its current limits.
so that’s really my goal in terms of weight loss as well. i just can’t gain any of this back. fuck appearance, i just can’t put my body through this constant weight cycling and i’m not gonna buy fat clothes to then get disgusted i fit into that and then donate it and then wait to fit into X clothing for the 6th time of my life, like i just can’t live my life on an endless loop like that. how about just fitting into those jeans once and for all, not having to buy additional sizes, not having to avoid the mall for years, then spend everyday at the mall once in a blue moon because i like myself again and then i hate myself again and then i love me and then i hate me and then i love me again and then i fucking hate myself all over again. it’s just too fucking much to live like that.
so yeah, i’m never gaining the weight back. this is my life now whether or not my poor overall baseline health has forced me here or i’ve done it myself, or whatever multiple factors are at play. i am not suffering for another day with my weight or my body image. and i find that peaceful. there is peace in acceptance even if it’s not what you initially thought was the definition of peace. peace is personal, not societal, not universal. it’s what is peaceful to you. it probably could be different. it has the potential to be, in a perfect world. but i’m not living in that world. i have what i have and i am who i am.

Among these, Panchakarma stands out as a transformative Ayurvedic therapy known for its profound detoxification and rejuvenation benefits. This comprehensive guide will provide you with valuable information, tips, and insights into finding the best Panchakarma treatment in Delhi NCR. From understanding the core principles of Panchakarma to exploring top centers, and knowing what to expect during the treatment, this blog post aims to be your ultimate resource.
Tumblr media
Understanding Panchakarma
Panchakarma, which translates to "five actions," is an essential part of Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of medicine. It is a holistic detoxification and rejuvenation therapy that aims to cleanse the body of accumulated toxins (Ama) and restore balance.
Core Components of Panchakarma
Vamana (Therapeutic Emesis): Induced vomiting to eliminate toxins from the stomach and respiratory tract.
Virechana (Purgation): Use of herbal laxatives to cleanse the intestines.
Basti (Enema Therapy): Medicated enemas to detoxify the colon and remove deep-seated toxins.
Nasya (Nasal Administration): Administration of medicated oils through the nostrils to cleanse the sinuses and respiratory system.
Raktamokshana (Bloodletting): Controlled removal of a small amount of blood to detoxify the blood.
Benefits of Panchakarma
Panchakarma offers a range of benefits that make it an appealing choice for those seeking natural and holistic health solutions:
Comprehensive Detoxification: Effectively removes toxins from the body, promoting overall health.
Boosts Immunity: Strengthens the immune system, enhancing the body’s natural defense mechanisms.
Improves Digestion: Enhances digestive functions, reducing issues like indigestion and constipation.
Mental Clarity and Stress Relief: Calms the mind, reduces stress, and promotes mental clarity.
Weight Management: Aids in weight loss and management by improving metabolism and eliminating toxins.
Tips for Choosing the Best Panchakarma Center
Selecting the right Panchakarma center can significantly influence the effectiveness and experience of your treatment. Here are some tips to help you make an informed decision:
1. Check Credentials and Experience
Ensure that the center and its practitioners are certified and experienced in Ayurvedic treatments. Look for practitioners with a BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) degree or equivalent qualifications.
2. Read Reviews and Testimonials
Online reviews and testimonials can provide valuable insights into the quality of services offered by the center. Look for feedback from previous patients to gauge their satisfaction levels.
3. Range of Services
A good Panchakarma center should offer a comprehensive range of services, including consultations, therapies, and personalized treatment plans. Check if the center specializes in the treatments you are seeking.
4. Hygiene and Ambiance
The center’s hygiene standards and overall ambiance play a crucial role in your healing journey. Ensure that the center maintains high standards of cleanliness and provides a calming environment.
5. Follow-Up Care
Effective follow-up care is essential for long-term health benefits. Choose a center that offers ongoing support and guidance even after your initial treatment.
What to Expect from a Panchakarma Treatment
Panchakarma is a multi-step process that requires careful preparation, treatment, and post-treatment care. Here’s what you can expect during a typical Panchakarma treatment:
1. Initial Consultation
The treatment begins with a thorough consultation where the practitioner assesses your health history, lifestyle, and current health concerns. This helps in understanding your Prakriti (constitution) and Vikriti (imbalances).
2. Pre-Treatment (Purva Karma)
Pre-treatment involves preparing the body for detoxification. This includes:
Snehana (Oleation): Internal and external administration of medicated oils to loosen toxins.
Swedana (Fomentation): Steam therapy to open the pores and facilitate the elimination of toxins.
3. Main Treatment (Pradhana Karma)
The main treatment consists of the five Panchakarma procedures (Vamana, Virechana, Basti, Nasya, and Raktamokshana), customized based on your specific health needs.
4. Post-Treatment (Paschat Karma)
Post-treatment care involves dietary guidelines, lifestyle changes, and herbal medications to support the body’s natural healing process and prevent the re-accumulation of toxins.
Popular Panchakarma Treatments
Panchakarma offers a variety of treatments designed to address different health concerns. Some of the popular treatments include:
1. Vamana (Therapeutic Emesis)
Vamana involves induced vomiting to cleanse the stomach and respiratory tract. It is beneficial for conditions like asthma, chronic allergies, and skin disorders.
2. Virechana (Purgation)
Virechana uses herbal laxatives to cleanse the intestines and remove toxins. It is effective for liver disorders, digestive issues, and skin problems.
3. Basti (Enema Therapy)
Basti involves administering medicated enemas to cleanse the colon. It is particularly beneficial for conditions like arthritis, constipation, and neurological disorders.
4. Nasya (Nasal Administration)
Nasya involves the administration of medicated oils or powders through the nostrils. It is useful for sinus problems, headaches, and respiratory issues.
5. Raktamokshana (Bloodletting)
Raktamokshana involves controlled removal of small quantities of blood to purify the blood. It is beneficial for skin conditions, hypertension, and certain inflammatory conditions.

What Diets Do They Support
Revive Superfoods caters primarily to health-conscious eaters and can complement several dietary preferences and requirements:
Vegan and Vegetarian: Offering a wide array of plant-based options.
Plant-Based Diets: Ideal for those focusing on foods primarily from plants.

03.10.2024 - Appointments to be made, Promises to be kept.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This week I've got two important appointments to schedule. I'm so grateful for the tribe of powerful and caring friends that I have on my side. I was able to get referrals through my personal network to for a new primary physician and nutritionist. * This week I will make the appointments for my new primary care physician. I have to face my fears at this appointment and get all my blood levels checked to make sure I'm still healthy and diabetes free. I will also bring up bariatric surgery with the doctor to get her thoughts are to scope out the best surgeons in my area.
I'll also make an appointment with the nutritionist so I can make my meal planning more effective for weight loss. I want to focus on weight loss, energy gain and binge eating help.
My friend had me sign up for class pass, I get a free 14 day trial so I need to use these two weeks to get over my gym anxiety slowly and take some classes. I'm gonna take some time tonight to plan out my work schedule and add some workout classes in the mix.
I also found a two churches I'm interested in going to! This Sunday I'm committing to going to one of them in person. I really miss being an active member of a church so I'm so excited to be able to worship in person.

Recent Wins!
I got my hair done last week and it truly changed my whole mood. I'm so happy a professional was able to look at the health of my hair and let me know that I'm right where I need to be in terms of my hair length journey. It was also such a treat to get my hair blowned out and pressed.
I fully meal prepped last week and all of my supplies was delivered. I finally have a food scale, ingredient prep containers and a new electric whisk.
I've followed my skincare routine all week.
Things to Work on:
I ordered out too many times this week, it wasn't that much but on Saturday I ordered twice in one day and ended up accidentally over drafting my account. Those delivery food calorie counts were so bad and it gave me heart burn anyway.
I need to start to tackle my bedroom mess. I deserve a nice clean sanctuary to sleep in so I need to make the moves to have that.
I need to drink more water, it will def help with the body cramps and headaches.
