Species of Suillus! S. granulatus and S. americanus. The former is colloquially known as the weeping bolete and the latter as chicken fat mushroom. Both found in the Catskills in October

oh this is hard..... hmmm...... alas i havent tried that many, usually the stores here only have button mushrooms, if im lucky, and if they have different ones, they're usually already going bad :') (they always have mold in them which i find very ironic lmao)

but so far ive also had weeping bolete or porcinis, im not sure bc of translation issues, shimeji and oyster mushrooms, the 2 latest would probably be my favourites so far. i really wanna try enoki and shiitake tho :3

What did Clea’s dream mean?

In the dream, I am with MH and we are away somewhere in some stretch of nature and I find some saffron milk caps where we are standing, there's two of them. They're quite large specimens, I star to clear away the dirt around them so it's easier to pick. We are interstate or something and she says you can sneak them into the airport, not in your luggage but put it in your pet's cage and everyone will assume it’s just food for the dog, and even if they realise what it is, they can’t get to it since the cage is locked shut. I say or think to myself that it isn’t a good idea since George is not my dog and I don’t want to be responsible for anything that might jeopardise it's health, in case he actually eats it or something. I get really excited and then we find more, I am spotting them all about. We are standing there she is staring right at one of them, as if in a trance, and I follow her line of sight to what she is looking at and bend down closer to the mushroom she spotted. I had thought that findings would be quite sparse. We are in a pine forest now and start to see them peppered everywhere and I see one with it's cap nibbled off, and I say well we can be a bit choosey and picky now and just pick the nicer looking smaller ones.

In the dream before this one, a basketful of mushrooms all varieties like wood blewitts and weeping boletes that I had foraged. All very good looking speciean.

I think AJ was in my dream, I could feel his energy and sense that we were talking but I don't remember what happened.

I was talking to Athena while walking down the street and she was quite animated and didn’t even say anything about how I haven’t replied to her voice notes. We crossed the road, I was just looking at her as she talked.

I was at work that did not look like work, and I opened the shop and SN was there at one of the tills, setting it up and then Alex V came to do a shift with me even though he has a different job now. He went from part-time to a casual contract. He didn’t seem well, like withdrawn and not himself, I made a note to myself to find a moment at some point to ask him if he is okay.

I am getting ready for high school I am putting on my uniform and instead of my casual way of wearing it, which I have been doing for awhile now I am going to be proper about it. Instead of the year 12 hoody, I am putting on the blazer which I have not worn in a long time and instead of black socks I will put on white socks to go with the summer uniform and I will pull them up high over my calves and look picture perfect, like I am about to get my picture taken or something. It is my last days at school or something like I am about to graduate and I want to look the part because I am ready now, I feel accomplished like I am ready to be noticed and seen. I am proud to be put together. I feel really cute and pretty.

In the dream CA is saying something about how I or she keep having dreams where things are about to start like class is about to start or an appointment is about to start, the right before of things.

#1851 - Suillus sp. - Slippery Jack

Also known as Butter Mushrooms, or in the case of the species formerly in the genus Fuscoboletinus, Larch Boletes. Other synonyms include Pinuzza, Boletus sect. Viscipellis, Euryporus, Cricunopus, Rostkovites, Peplopus, Ixocomus, Boletopsis, Solenia, Mariaella, and Gastrosuillus.

Suillus species, named after the Latin for pig, have greasy or slippery caps resembling a pig’s skin, and some species are highly desirable as food. However, the slimy cap can be a purgative, at least in some species. 

Most grow in close mycorrhizal association with pines, and some have been spread around the world in pine plantations. That was the case here, with what is either  Suillus granulatus (also known as the Weeping Bolete) and Suillus luteus, which I found growing in an abandoned pine plantation out in Jarrahdale SW of Perth. It’s probably granulatus, because it doesn’t have a ring around the stipe.

“Weeping Bolete study” . Acrylic, acrylic ink on canvas panel. 07 x 05in. . I completed this little study of a mushroom, and realized halfway in that I should have used paper for this project.
