#210, Trep’s Garage, Mid-City, Bienville St.

Brand new spot, first full weekend, for a former garage/filling station, now flanked with shaded patios with TV’s and fans/heaters, depending on the season. Shot no. 3 is of the separate kitchen built into a series of shipping containers, shot 2 is of trees they included in the patio, shot 1 is the Trep’s Garage logo from the menu including the motto, Fuel for Humans.

An agreeable server took my order, brought me Stevia for my unsweetened ice tea and then she told me the kitchen only cooked the burger two ways, medium or Well Done! ( burnt, lifeless, dried out globs of seized up meat). I informed her that I required medium rare, with the meat pink in the center. She agreed to tell the cook after upselling the fries for the $2 more Truffle Fries, a good choice I must say.

The burger arrived after several minutes just barely mid-rare, more of a medium taken off the grill thirty seconds too early. Topped with the usual L,T, & O, with an almost stale roll accompanying it. What’s the deal with the buns? This was the first weekend guys, do better!

Overall, like cars, human require different fuels, one burger choice is unsatisfactory for a place claiming to be a neighborhood hangout spot, even Clesi’s next door, a place known for it’s crawfish boils has TWO burgers on the menu, and I realize that you don’t want to get sued, but hire a responsible cook!

MacMillan Fest takes place next weekend in Bristol. This will be the final ever MacMillan Fest event.

The full lineup is now complete and includes Evil Scarecrow, Raised By Owls, True Colours, Rxptors, Footprints In The Custard, A Hundred Crowns, BOE, Crownless, Franklin Mint, In Fear They Follow, Neuromatic, NO:IR, The Fangs Of The Dodo, Trep and Ursus.

There will be two stages at The Fleece and Mothers Ruin Bar on Saturday 9th November.
