I am a 22 year old nonbinary, pansexual as hell. I am 5'4ft in terms of height. My hair is short with an undercut style and bleached at the end cause the dyed faded overtime. I don't care what I wear as long I am comfy even with that I am self-conscious if I have to wear something out of my comfort zone and I wear glasses occasionally especially if am I going out. I am always seen with a bag that has keychains and enamel pins of my favorite things (mostly Pokémon lmao) because I tend to bring stuff to draw if we are sitting down somewhere.

I draw for fun and whatever I like to do draw, I tend to experiment in art styles but never dabbling in stuff that is really challenging like realism. I like to just draw what is in my mind and can be loose with it. From silly skrunkly doodles to rather horrifying looking creatures. I am usually awkwardly silent but I can talk to others if given a chance. I have a bad temper from time to time though am not easily irritable, it is just being talked down to like as I am an idiot does not help the person telling me things I did wrong though that doesn't mean I am not open to constructive criticism. Mentioning the self-conscious/insecurities will lead me to kind of say self-degrading things about myself whether it be my work or general although people tell me otherwise, I never gain the confidence in myself. I don't even prioritize my own health or well-being in favor of helping those around me that can lead me to exhausting myself. I am a bit physically touched starve but I don't force it on others cause I respect their space even if it's someone I know and close with, I have a fear of making them uncomfortable. I tend to overthink a lot of things and can be indecisive as hell. Being gifted stuff is going to make me obligated to return someone back because it is a big gesture in my eyes although the person gifted to me because they wanted to or think I deserve it. I am easily amused at things so show me like something stupid looking? I will be distracted for hours. Hyper-fixations are hard to control cause I move one thing I like to another.

Relationship? Usually I don't notice romantic interest until I am told, I am kinda shit of picking up signals yet I know how if I don't feel the same way towards the person who has a crush on me. Though if I feel the same way, I am easily flustered but nervous cause I don't know what to do and overthink on what to do in the situation. Not picky on physical, Someone with compassion and a sense of humor is something I find nice. I have to admit this, I have an internal fear of being broken up with especially my previous relationship and potentially being cheated on as it doesn't help my insecurities. - I don't have a specific favorite of music, I just go with whatever flows with my vibe. (Though if I must? okay honestly Cherrynose has one of my favorite designs out of all the wc ocs I have so far bc of the thought I put into her. I have a tendency to make innocent/kind characters look very rounded and soft, but Cherrynose is actually a very evil cat, so I thought it would be fun to give her an innocent looking design

Cherrynose (she/her) is ThunderClan‘s medicine cat, and is a master at faking prophecies. she is no stranger to making false signs, and did so to help herself become a medicine cat apprentice in the first place. before Wolfstar became leader, Cherrynose was actually the one to pull the strings behind the scenes to help her get into such a position. she had a massive crush on her for the longest time, and so was dedicated to helping her rise in the ranks. after a big fight that injured the ThunderClan deputy at the time (they haven’t been named yet), Cherrynose found a way to kill them while also making it look like their injuries had killed them, then claimed to have a vision that implied Wolfface should become deputy. this was successful, as the leader at the time, Barkstar (he/him), fell for it and made Wolfface deputy. for awhile she hung tight and did nothing to further Wolfface’s rank, but shortly after Saltstar became leader, Cherrynose decided it was time for Wolfface to follow. she snuck into Barkstar’s den and choked him to death so there were no signs of a murder and it seemed as if he had passed in his sleep.

I don’t have much “current/in story” lore for her yet aside from her being quietly violent (such as helping skin a cat so that Saltstar and Wolfstar could share the pelt) and helping create signs for the prophecy Wolfstar and Saltstar are faking, but she is mates with Wolfstar, which goes interestingly in ThunderClan. it’s like a “everyone knows but no one says anything” situation where although neither of them say anything about it, it’s pretty obvious there’s something between them that everyone just chooses to turn a blind eye to.

As a white person and budding artist (that sure is. An intro) I'm always super careful to try and avoid harmful cultural and visual stereotypes in my art and practice sketches. I was wondering if you have/have posted any tips for drawing mexican people? I always do research before drawing anyone from a different culture or of a different race but it can be tricky to find things written by theae minorities themselves and I am always hesitant to take tips from another white artist on drawing other races 😅 (I also apologise if I worded anything badly here, I'm autistic and struggle to word things sometimes! Please feel free to correct me if I did!)

Heyo! I think the biggest reason there isn’t or even I haven’t ever made a how to draw Mexicans is ‘cause Mexico is very very diverse, and the majority of us are Mestizo ( “mixed race, especially one having Spanish and indigenous descent.”) There are definitely racist stereotypes to avoid such as orange skin, thick black mustache, lazy, alcoholic, poncho wearing, Mexican. Obviously. But this is just one small part of the coin, when there is a lot of anti-blackness, and anti-indigenous sentiments in our own communities, EVEN THOUGH, the majority of us ARE mixed race. This has to do with colonization, and the way the Spaniards just really fucked us over, brain washed us, and made being a White Mexican the IDEAL Mexican. So there’s a LOT to unpack there. 

Especially with Mestizos being prejudice towards their Indigenous communities WHILE STILL practicing the very same important practices that came from those communities (Dia De Muertos for example) Basically there’s an issue of still wanting to be Mexican, and have pride in your country, and culture, but not wanting be like those "dirty brown” Mexicans. To the point where the government is constantly trying to push the “we are all one Mexican race and nation” while actively trying to get people to essentially erase our Indigenous communities. Like there’s this big idea of “marrying White” that even my mom used to believe in for a while, because her own mother taught her that as well in order to assimilate and what not.  Again, lots of colorism and bigotry within our own communities. It’s a very big and complex issue, that we can thank the Spaniards for ( and the Mexican government who continues to uphold these toxic ideas), YAYY colonization!!! Weeee!!!!

( I mean I can even see it in my own family, with my dad’s side of the family clearly not being able to pass as White being severely impoverished, while my mom’s side of the family, who overall is much more White passing, have been able to hold positions of power in large companies and can even afford to buy more than one house)

Sorry to get into that very long rant, but I do think it’s very important to know this information to get started with actually figuring out how to accurately portray a Mexican, Tejano, Mex-Am, Afro-Mexican etc. Because well, anyone can be Mexican, just like anyone can be American! But I’ll get into the main communities that exist in Mexico to help you out!

So again, Mestizos (mixed-race) are the biggest group in Mexico, making up over 93% of the population! So that’s a good chunk of us jaja! So it’s good to talk about how different you can look in a mixed-race family! And what better example than my own family!

Both my parents look very “stereotypically” Mexican by American standards, especially my dad who is the absolute definition of a macho ranchero Mexicano jaja. Both my parents come from small farming communities in Mexico, but look very different themselves! Each pueblo kinda has their own differences too! The people from my mom’s pueblo all tend to have much lighter skin, with cool undertones, some even have blue or green eyes, and red hair! While the people from my dad’s pueblo (98 people in total there, very very small jajaja) Tend to have deep red undertones, thick dark hair, curly hair, hooked noses, and very very rarely hazel eyes! So it’s no wonder me and my siblings look so different as well! (none of us are adopted I assure you) 

So I’m very lucky cause I have a HUGE family to use as reference, and reference is key!!! but there are many cool Mexican celebrities and public figures you can use as reference if you don’t happen to know anyone (tho It’s always good to have friends with different experiences from your own as always)

But here’s some examples of how different mestizos can look, including some of my own specific references!

There is also our Indigenous communities “ Mexico's indigenous population is one of the two largest in the Americas (only Peru is comparable in size). More than one in ten Mexicans speaks an indigenous language”

I really recommend checking out this website to learn more, as this is something I’m still learning more about myself! 

Then of course we have our Afro-Mexican community! Mexico is cruel to it’s Indigenous communities, but even more so to Afromexicanos, who until recently were completely ignored by Mexico’s census. You can read more about this issue here.  Spaniards of course play a big part in the issues that face Afromexicanos today.  You can learn even more about this history here!

Did you know Lupita Nyong’o is Mexican! (A fellow Lupita <3 )

And of course, can’t forget White Mexicans! Don’t think the Spaniards just left after a while, because they stayed jajaja. (Look no further than Novellas and most big celebrates for some examples fhhffhf) 

So there really is no absolute way to represent us! (which was an issue I had with Coco actually.. with everyone having the exact same orange/brown skin) There is certainly a picture that comes to American’s heads when they think “Mexican” but in reality, things are much more diverse, beautiful, and complicating than that! 

However I do have some small little things I personally like to do to help indicate when I’m making a Mexican / Mex-Am character design based off of all of the information above along with my family and friends as reference! 

Moles! I don’t know why, but every Latino I know has so many moles.... from my childhood friends to my ex boyfriend, to every single cousin have... MOLES MOLES MOLES! Why? I haven’t a clue, but I always add them to my character designs jajaja! Even if it’s just a little one on the neck <3

Thick hair! It is a curse and a blessing. My grandpa will never bald compared to a white man, but in exchange I have to deal with shaving my chin every day to compensate LMAO. So I like giving my characters thick eyebrows, dark body hair, or thicker hair than most designs! It’s cool and neat!!! But please be mindful about how you do this as there have been white artists who have done this in racist and harmful ways, such as rcdart. ( X ) ( X ) 

I also recommend checking out shows like El Tigre, and Victor y Valentino, for some more fun and simple designs that show a wide variety of Mexican characters! (Also I just love Jorge R Gutierrez’s designs in general jaja)

I grinned when I got this ask. I honestly didn't think anyone would care that much about my thoughts on the songs, but if you're asking I'm more than happy to share! And if you're comfortable feel free to drop another ask or shoot me a DM with your own thoughts :)

First I'll give overall thoughts and then I'll delve into a few more specifics, as well as a tiny bit of Drarry stuff! This is going to be a lonnnggg post which I suspect very few people—if any—are really interested in reading. But if you are, then stick around! And please feel free to share what you think in the comments, DMs or ask box! <3

Overall I LOVED it. The production was amazing and very cohesive. And oh my goodness her VOICE has grown so so so much. It's hard to realize the difference when we just listen to stuff like folklore or evermore or even reputation, but her voice has developed a lot. It's a lot stronger than it used to be when she first recorded Red—and that's saying something because her voice was great then, too!!

Like with Fearless TV, it really felt like a more grown-up Taylor reflecting on her early life, and it was emotional to listen to this album now when I so vividly remember it coming out at the time. It's also so clear that Taylor had fun rerecording it. Her passion for her old music is always so wonderful to see—that she's not the least bit ashamed or shying away from her early work, because it feels like we really grew up with her, yk? And all the parts of ourselves—past and present—deserve to be celebrated.

Now for some specifics.

It was sooo fun to hear her say "who is taylor swift anyway?" in 22, and her little dialogue in WANGBT (although the "weeEE" in the chorus of WANGBT made me laugh a little lmao). And Stay Stay Stay was a lot better—don't get me wrong I liked the original too but this version was even better.

Also I LOVED Holy Ground. I loved that song before—I dedicated a fic to it in the TS/Drarry series!—but I was so satisfied with this version.

The Moment I Knew is and continues to be the melodramatic bop we all know and love. Girl at Home was good, but it was a bit of a shock. It's just so different from the original, and sonically it reminded me of 1989. Still, it was enjoyable.

Okay now the vault tracks:

Better Man and Babe?? incredible. Message in a Bottle is SUCH a bop (and I see some potential Drarry vibes 👀)

The restaurant was quite fancy, definitely a 5 star one. And like normal 5 star restaurants, it was naturally quiet. So when Bakugo decided it would be a good idea to finger you, you were obviously noisy.

“Shut up slut, you don’t want the whole restaurant to hear you do you?” He asking. And you shook your head no in response.

OOOOOO OC QUESTIONS! hiiii! i posted that sketch days ago though, so sorry if this might be a late reply!

Tim and Zoe are characters from my ‘Volunteers’ series (that’s… a working title i swear) which is basically just… uh, this kind of loose X-Men AU of sorts? I think they’re just my mutant OCs hahaha. Like, these people born with ‘gifts’ and are being hunted and this group goes around helping them blend in or hide. They’re not superheroes per se, but they just call themselves volunteers.

It’s basically the mutant underground from The Gifted lmao thanks Fox for the nice adaptation.

Zoe is my main character, and Tim is her best friend. They’re both kids who lost their city/families in the ‘searches’ and were taken in by the volunteers. They met when they were taken to the same safehouse and grew close because they’re from the same age group and had the same experiences.

Interesting tidbits under the cut!

Zoe is an ordinary human, but she’s mighty smart and quick to pick up on things. Sometimes her mentors wonder if it’s actually hyper-intuition, or if she’s just that quick. Zoe is deaf and usually uses hearing aids but she can lip-read and a lot of people in their safehouse know sign language.

Tim is gifted with heat manipulation abilities, and is very athletic and a competent fighter.

They’re both positive-thinking, loyal, and fiercely protective of each other and their found family.

They joined the main team together as soon as the older members allowed them to, eager to help. It’s mostly road trips and supply runs, but sometimes they do get in trouble and have to fight back. They’ve seen their fair share of fights, and young as they were, they’ve already seen some of their older members fall.

The description in my inktober drawing basically sums up what they are to each other, really. The golden boy and the golden girl - because they’re both determined and worked really hard to excel in what they’re good at. You can say they’re the ‘favorites’ as they were growing up and training. Brute force and strategy - their roles in the team. Partners - they work best together. Best friends and family!

Those matching bracelet things they wear are little presents they got from their mentor and the leader of the team when they joined. They both really looked up to him and he treated them like his younger brother and sister.

Their relationship stays platonic - they already see each other as siblings and both have separate romantic interests down the lane. And they’re both bi! Solidarity! Weeee!

So that’s them! I really haven’t written anything else about them, but I’m real fond of them both.
