Cannabis is currently one of the worlds highest sold products. Something that was once seen as bad, is currently taking the world by storm. So what exactly is the history behind Cannabis? 

According to an article entitled, History of Cannabis as a Medicine, it states that the first evidence of cannabis use was found in China. The Chinese used the seeds from cannabis for medical purposes. The Chinese were not the only people to use cannabis for medicinal purposes. Countries all over the world have used the plant for medicine. As time progressed, cannabis (marijuana), was used for recreational purposes. In the early 1900s, during the Mexican revolution, Mexicans introduced the recreational practice of smoking marijuana to the United States. Years later, many Americans today use marijuana for recreational and medical purposes.

Cannabis, also known as marijuana, has gone  from being deemed as bad/illegal to now being one of the fastest selling products in the tobacco/smoking market. Cannabis can have a number of positive effects on the body. Some of these effects include but are not limited to:

Helps with muscle spasms.

May improve lung capacity.

Can treat glaucoma.

Decreases anxiety.

Helps control elliptic seizures.

Marijuana has had a long and interesting history. A lot of people tend to focus on the negative effects of marijuana, but rarely speak about the positives. Seeing that there are numerous positive effects of marijuana that date back to 4.000 B.C, what’s stopping you from giving cannabis a try?

#Recap: SomeGirlsGetHigh Attend the August Edition of the Emerald Exchange

If this past weekend (August 12-13) reminded us of anything, it's that the future is looking GREEN.

August's Emerald Exchange--a luxury farmers market for cannabis aficionados, patients, and industry leaders--marked the last of the pre-legalization era in California, and while we celebrated the fact that such a glorious event was able to be coordinated and organized for medical patients, the potential for what lies ahead is that much more exciting.

As we stepped onto a stunning private ranch property in Malibu, we instantly were greeted by a cheerful staff who presented us with a plethora of options and suggestions as to how to best enjoy the weekend's multidimensional festivities. As we walked the ground, it became clear that the universal vibe was that everyone was happy, grateful and excited to simply be there, working together to showcase peacefully and positively the power of a plant.

From indulging with medicated meals to learning about new products to smelling the freshest flower to networking with like-minds to enjoying a beautiful sunset, this past weekend's event was exactly how we wish we could spend every weekend.

Special thanks to Brittany and the Emerald Exchange team for hosting us, and we cannot be more excited to support this important, impactful and incredible event in the near future.
