How Much Time Does It Take To Plan A Wedding?
Planning your weddings can be done by hiring a wedding planner. Generally, it takes an average of 6 to 12 months to plan weddings. If the couples are busy, then they can prefer to extend the wedding planning timelines up to 18 months. The sooner the wedding planning is done, the better it is. A wedding planning must always go smoother if both sides' parents meet and note down the wedding checklist. People will divide the duties which will reduce the stress level of planning overall and prevent any kind of unnecessary strain. Here we will discuss the time taken to plan a wedding.
When to Start Wedding Planning
The starting of wedding planning should be sooner and it is proposed not to start any kind of rush. It is also vital not to sacrifice quality time even after the engagement. You must enjoy the days before the final wedding day. You can reduce stress by hiring wedding event planners in Sydney. These event planners will help you to decide which vendors and venues are right for you.
First Task to be Completed
The first task you need to perform starting wedding planning is to take in the moment. The path of a wedding is filled with many obstacles and wedding planning is not an easy task. To complete the task smoothly, you need to hire a wedding event organiser in Sydney. Wedding planning will not be so easy but the reward will help you to stay motivated and in good spirits.
Minimum Time to Plan Weddings
You can plan the wedding with a minimal number of guests which will help to plan within two to three months. The choice of wedding dress should be pre-selected to reduce the time taken for wedding planning. The booking of the venues should be done in advance. Hiring wedding event planners in Sydney will help you shorten the timeline of wedding planning.
The planning of a wedding cannot be handled by everyone and needs a specialised wedding planner to conduct the event successfully. You can reduce your stress level by taking help from wedding planners and you will be able to enjoy the time of the wedding.

It’s Schrödinger’s wedding.
1952 Words / Prompt: Jealousy
We’re sitting among the boxes of invitations, the venue’s brochures, and several dozen napkins folded into Sydney Opera Houses. John looks exhausted, and now that Mary’s gone home, I’ve suggested a break.
I pour John a glass of scotch and hand it to him, struggling for the right words to open this discussion. If I’m not careful, it could end badly.
Sinking into my chair, I simply say, “Don’t.”
John swallows a mouthful of whisky. “Don’t what?”
He looks confused. Of course. I’m terrible at this. Sentiment, feelings, honesty.
“Don’t… marry her.”
John sighs. “Sherlock.”
“Please, John. Just don’t.”
Confusion has given way to stubbornness, and of all people, John Watson is the most stubborn person I’ve ever known. It’s hopeless, ridiculous that I even brought this up. But it has to be said.
That night at the Landmark, when John was trying to strangle me, I promised myself that I would stop lying to him. Stop shading the truth. Just be honest. Who deserves the truth more than John, who grieved for two years, thinking his best friend was dead?
Best friend. More than I ever expected to have from this stubborn, loyal, surprising man who has always followed me, even after I broke his heart. He deserves the truth.
And I deserve nothing. But I can’t let the man I love be hurt again, even if it means… well, I hope this won’t be our last conversation.
“What is this about?” John’s face wears that dogged expression.
“I love you,” I begin. “And I’ve hurt you too much to pretend this is fine.”
John’s eyes widen, then narrow. “You love me. What am I supposed to do with that?”
“You called me your best friend. I don’t care what you make of it—“
“You don’t do feelings. Married to your work, grit on the lens—“
“You’re not the only one who’s grieved, John. Yes, I do have feelings. And I would be prepared to set them aside, to accept that I do not deserve your love, but I owe you the truth.”
“You love me.”
It’s bad enough that John seems to be stuck on you love me. That isn’t even the point right now. (Note to self: next time, lead with your wife-to-be is probably an assassin.)
“Yes. Which is why I’m about to tell you the last thing you want to hear right now.”
“I’m about to get married, Sherlock! Why are you doing this now— you’ve never given me the tiniest clue that you even considered me a friend. I don’t have friends. Remember that? What is this— are you jealous? Is that what this is about?”
I’m terrible at this. I’ve vowed to be honest, not to keep John in the dark all the time, and all John is taking from this is that I’m jealous.
I try again. “You’re about to marry a woman you don’t know. A woman who is lying to you.”
Now John’s wearing his isn’t this ironic face. “Oh, well, I suppose I should be used to people who love me lying to me! You’ve given me plenty of practice, you know.”
“I realise my apology for that is inadequate. I understand that you will never return my feelings, and I will live with that. I’m not jealous. Marry whomever you want, John— just not her. She’s not who she claims to be. I’m telling you this because I believe you’re in danger.”
“All right, then.” Still angry, but also curious. “Tell me. Who is she?”
“I don’t know yet. I do know that she’s not Mary Morstan, who was stillborn in 1972 and buried in Chiswick Cemetery. The night I met her, I deduced that she’s hiding something, so I went to Mycroft. While I was gone, he was supposed to keep an eye on you because we believed Moriarty’s organisation might still take action against you. When I realised that she was not who she said she was, I gave him an earful for letting an unknown close to you.”
“And what did he say?”
“Nothing. He wouldn’t tell me anything about her. Classified. Which tells me most of what I needed to know. He knows exactly who she is, which suggests that she’s an agent of some sort, probably freelance. She may have done work for the British government, which would be how he knew her.”
He rolls his eyes. “You’re an agent of the government, I believe. Don’t even try telling me you weren’t working for your brother these past two years. Maybe she doesn’t have clearance to tell me what kind of work she did.”
“But she hasn’t even mentioned it, has she? She told you she’s a nurse. And she’s using a name that’s not her own. You’re marrying her, John— the fact that she’s assumed a false identity—“
“—means that she’s in some sort of witness protection. That she doesn’t have clearance to tell anyone.“ Annoyed, but not in denial. Uncomfortable now that he’s thinking about it.
“Mycroft would have said if that were the case. And he would have threatened me to keep my hands off. The fact that he’s said nothing means that she’s part of an active investigation. And most likely not currently working for the British government. If she were, he would have said.”
John is silent.
“Ignorance is not bliss, John. You made that point quite forcefully the night I returned.”
“She’s active?” He looks dazed.
“Mycroft wouldn’t say. But it’s not the kind of work anyone actually leaves behind.”
“And you’re telling me this now? You couldn’t have said sooner? Christ, we’ve started planning the wedding!” Angry again.
“I wasn’t sure. I’m more certain now, though.”
John has reached his limit. “I… I’ve got to go. I can’t deal with this now. Just… I’m going.” He grabs his coat, stuffs his arms in the sleeves, and marches out the door.
… (Continues below cut)
I return from buying milk (I really must be losing my mind if I’m going to the shops, but tea requires milk and sugar and Mrs Hudson is still showing her displeasure at my inexplicable return by not running errands for me) and find Mycroft sitting in my chair. He knows, of course, which chair is mine and which is John’s, and is making a statement whose meaning I can guess. Power dynamics: my chair.
Considering who’s paid the rent for the last two years, it actually is Mycroft’s chair. I make tea, hand a mug to Mycroft, and sit in John’s chair.
“Well, brother.” He gives me an appraising look.
I’m used to the evaluation; it happens every time I see my brother, that once-over to determine if (a) I’ve relapsed, (b) I’ve done something else Mycroft will regret, or c) I’m about to lie about something not covered under (a) or (b). The best way to side-track this is to get on his nerves.
“This is about John, isn’t it?” I blow on my tea. “Otherwise you would have called.”
“He came to see me yesterday, directly from seeing you. Asking what I knew about Mary Morstan. Now, where did he get the idea that she’d been lying to him, if not from you?”
“You didn’t swear me to silence.”
Mycroft sips his tea, but says nothing. He’s very good at keeping his own counsel.
“I asked him not to marry her,” I say. “I don’t have any real proof, other than what I told him, but reasoned that it would be better not to leave it until the last moment. I’m wondering, though, why you were willing to let it happen. You let her close to John, when it’s obvious she was planted in his surgery because of me.”
Mycroft smirks. “You don’t think it was Dr Watson’s charms that drew her to him?”
“Mary Morstan isn’t like the others. Who is she working for?”
“I don’t know.”
“But you can guess.”
“I’m not giving you an unfounded hypothesis, Sherlock. The matter is still classified.” He shifts in his seat, watching me, then relents a bit. “You’re not wrong about her. But we cannot afford to tip her off yet. The marriage will be invalid, of course.”
(Note to self: Kill Mycroft.)
“This should never have happened. John is not a chess piece, a thing to be sacrificed for your game. Now, go away. I don’t want to talk to you until you can give me some answers.”
Without a word, Mycroft stands, tucks his umbrella under his arm, glares at me, and leaves.
…
It’s night, and I’m walking. No particular destination, just around the park until I’m too tired to walk further.
When I finally open the door of 221B, John is sitting on the stairs.
He looks up at me, but doesn’t speak. And for once, I can’t read his look. Either he’s said something to Mary, or he hasn’t. She’s lied to him, or she’s told him the truth. He’s forgiven her or he’s broken it off.
It’s Schrödinger’s wedding.
I hang my coat by the door. He still hasn’t spoken, but budges over to make room for me.
“You said you love me.”
“Yes.”
“You promised not to lie.”
“I’m not lying. I do love you.”
“I mean, about Mary.”
“I spoke with Mycroft. She’s part of an active investigation, as I guessed. He wouldn’t give me details.”
“Jesus. And you love me.”
I feel his eyes on me, but say nothing. Either he accepts it, or he doesn’t.
“You told me you were married to your work. That’s a pretty clear signal you weren’t interested. Why did you say that?”
“Because I was a coward. And soon you were dating women, which was also a clear signal, and there wasn’t any point in bringing it up again.”
“When you say love, what do you mean?”
“I want you to be happy. If that’s with someone other than me, fine. But someone who’s lying to you cannot make you happy.”
He leans closer, his shoulder against mine. “And what would make you happy? If you could have anything you want?”
“A locked room triple homicide, no murder weapon.”
He gives a low chuckle. “Idiot. I mean, what do you want from me?”
“Whatever you’ll give me. I’m prepared to be your friend for life, if that’s what you want.”
“Nothing more? Just friends? Not romantic?”
No lies, not now. “Yes, I want more. I want you to live here, to sleep in my bed, yes— with all that entails. To never leave me. But I will take what I can—”
“Yes. All of it.”
It’s my turn to be silent.
He rubs his eyes. Sleepless night. “I told her I couldn’t marry her. You’d best let Mycroft know if he’s trying to suss her out. She’s already packing her bags.”
“Did she tell you what she is?”
“I didn’t ask. I just told her I was in love with you.”
I feel as if I’ve been punched in the gut. No, I feel like what I imagine when I think of kissing John. Breathless, heart-pounding.
“Are you in love with me?”
“I thought you knew.” He smiles, takes my hand in his own. “Yes, I am.”
My voice shakes. “And what did she say?”
“She already knew.” His smile broadening, John leans in.
The kiss is better than any I could imagine.
He doesn’t let go when it ends. “So, if I’d decided to marry her anyway…” He grins. “What was your plan for that?”
The truth. I promised. “I was going to kidnap you.”
He gives me a smouldering look. “You could still do that.”
(Note to self: I’m going to have to get used to John Watson’s love language.)

For a while, I've been saving and collecting my fav The Bear fics, so I can post a nice and organised list. BUT -
Today I've read @scenedenial summer extravaganza masterpiece(published in July and August so I'd missed it in the whirlwind of trying to have a summer holiday as an adult) that is Stripper!Richie x Sydney AU, taking place after Carmy ditches Sydney right before their wedding, called slow show.
It's the perfect SydRichie AU story you didn't know you needed. Especially Richie's character has blown my mind - he's still Richie but somewhere more subtle, elsewhere louder. Of course I don't even have to mention the smut, which in @scenedenial 's case is always P E R F E C T, onpoint, delicious, raw etc. Please read it!! You will love it!!

"THE BRIDE" DOLL TABLEAU
Powerhouse Collection
"The Bride" tableau was made in 1958 by Euronwy (Rene) Wilson (1898-1978).
This doll tableau called "The Bride" represents a bride getting dressed before her wedding helped by her mother, two bridesmaids and a flower girl. It was made as a craft hobby in 1958 and is one of ten tableaux in the Museum's collection prepared by Euronwy (Rene) Wilson (1898-1978), from the Sydney suburb of Cammeray, between 1956 to 1976.
Born in Wales, Rene moved to Australia when she was 16 and had a background in antique dealing. After her children grew up she began to create these tableaux. She modelled many of the props for the settings in potter's clay, which were baked in her oven at home then painted. Other props were gathered from Sydney antique shops and auctions or modified from household items. Between 1960 and her death in 1978 she won 18 first prizes in the arts and crafts section of Sydney's Royal Easter Show, and five at the Sydney Doll Show.
Rene exhibited and sold her work around Sydney, the proceeds being donated to local charities and organisations. This tableau is significant as it represents a unique combination of crafts and toy making. The setting features an interesting combination of character and period doll dressing, doll's house interior design, needlework and craft. It is well provenanced and indicative of the popular craft practices of the time. In addition, it relates to Sydney's Royal Easter Show, a significant event within the social history of New South Wales.

~~ 46 Message To My Girl ~~
Though I'm frightened by the word,
Think it's time I made it heard.
So I'll sing it to the world
This simple message to my girl.
No more empty self possession,
Visions swept under the mat.
It's no New Years resolution,
It's more than that.
~~~~~~~~
The day had come, after years of waiting and wishing, here he stood with his brothers beside him as he waited for Aurora to arrive.
He had woken entwined in her arms, their limbs tangled together. He had forgone tradition and insisted spending the night together. Lucky for him, Aurora wasn’t superstitious. They sat on a hotel balcony in the early morning summer sun, grinning and giggling like idiots as they ate their breakfast.
They were getting married today.
Their solitude and silence interrupted by their friends coming to gather them. Saying their goodbyes, Henry was left with his brothers to get ready, he made sure to keep an eye on the time, making sure they didn’t get too rowdy or off track.
“Would you relax? You’re not the only one who got married” Charlie clapped him on the back and handed him a scotch.
“I wanna be there early”
“Henry, you will be fine, knowing the bridal party, they may be late, there’s a lot they have to do”
Henry was just anxious to see her. She had texted him a few minutes before he left.
Tears or I turn around and try again, Cavill. He let out a small laugh at that.
He shuffled his feet nervously as his brothers chatted calmly by his side. The Harbour was absolutely sparkling, the Opera House sitting on the sapphire ocean, boats cruising by and a small breeze kept Henry cool against the late afternoon sun, the overhanging tree providing him shade as he waited for Aurora.
He could see swathes of people passing, trying to get a glimpse of who was getting married. He was forever grateful of the security that kept them at bay, looking up at the sky, he checked again for any helicopters that might fly over the Botanical Gardens, relived to see that the wedding planners had done their best to keep this under wraps.
“Ok fella’s, it go time, they’ll be here in 5!” Charlie said as they organised themselves on Bennelong Lawn.
Henry had gone all out, red roses dotted the aisle and ending on the podium they would be married on, the roses only ever reaching knee height so that it didn’t detract from the two dramatic icons in the background. Aurora made sure the boys who were not accustomed to the Sydney heat could stand under the over hanging trees, behind them, sat the Harbour bridge with the Opera House to the right. It was truly stunning, simple and elegant and dramatic in all the right places.
~~~~~~~~
He saw the dress before he saw her.
It was a red ball gown, the strapless bodice dotted with crystals that glinted in the afternoon, dancing a kaleidoscope of colours, they travelled down the bodice and halfway down the full skirt before disappearing into an ombrè effect against the red satin. The a small train followed behind her as she walked arm in arm with Raphi towards him, red roses held in her hand that fell like a delicate waterfall, Her hair was pulled up and her makeup was simple but dramatic, winged eyeliner and red lips to close out her look.
Tears lined his eyes as she smiled at him and stood before before him. He reached out his hands to hers, desperate to connect to his lifeline to quell the sudden nerves.
“Hi” He whispered.
“Hi” she whispered back.
They stood grinning like idiots at each other, the words of the celebrant barely hitting their ears, only registering when it came time to recite their vows.
In all his waking moments, he could barely remember a life before her. When she first slapped her number in front of him with an accompanying shot, he thought her bold and he quite enjoyed the first meeting. He had no idea how his life would change, how much it needed to change. He remembered those nights where she wasn’t with him and he felt like it was an outer body experience. Everything had been dark black before she arrived and he didn’t even realise it.
There were nights he swore he flew, even just being next to her he would find himself wrapped in her when he woke. Even sleeping he would still seek her out. She was every thought and feeling of his day, his little cocoon that blocked out the world even when he was in front of millions of people and she was on the other side of the world.
Henry never had to save her, she was the one to do that for him, his equal, but also his superior in many ways. The calm she now brought to his days, and her quiet strength that was enough to quell any raging storm he found himself trapped in. She stood at the fore front of his every thought and decision. His reason for being and breathing. Men have always adored the aloofness of women they want in their lives, and they know, deep down that it’s the women that choose them. Henry could never understand how he had gone through so much of his life without her in it.
Now that he stood before her, a muddle of nervous words reciting his vows, he knew he would never willingly let her go.
Henry watched the glimmer of her pink diamonds as he slid her wedding band on her finger, he watched as the glittering band circled his finger, the weight of it new and alien to him. He stared at it, all of his dreams had come true on this hot December day in Sydney.
He looked up at her, tears escaping his eyes.
There were so many moments he had thought of this and what it would be like, but to out it into words, they failed him. He remembers and hopes for the quiet moments when they were in bed, talking shit and giggling to themselves, the world falling away as the sunlight peaks through the curtains. The days were one touch said more than any vocabulary ever could. Every time he gave into the temptation of her. The utter bliss that drugged his mind when he was with her, even in the moments when they would fight about stupid shit.
“You may now kiss the bride!”
Henry didn’t need to be told twice as he scooped Aurora into his arms and kissed her with all he had, cheers from the crowd being drowned out as he receded into the universe where it was only him and her.
He rested his forehead on hers and opened his eyes to see hers looking back at him, in this moment he was so content, the thousands of words and meanings seen plainly on his face.
All he could do smile.

Buy Rainbow at the Sydney queer small business fair
New Post has been published on https://qnews.com.au/buy-rainbow-at-the-sydney-queer-small-business-fair/
Buy Rainbow at the Sydney queer small business fair
The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Business Association (SGLBA) is bringing back one of its most iconic events from the 1980s – a market style fair for LGBTQIA+ owned and operated businesses.
In 1982, Sydney’s then named “Gay Business Association” held a business fair called the Gay Fair, attracting the participation of numerous local businesses, and providing a safe place for LGBTQIA+ people to meet like-minded professionals at a time when homosexuality was still a crime in NSW.
QNews sat down with SGLBA President Jarrod Lomas and Vice President Ricky Hamilton to discuss the history of this event and to tell us about the Buy Rainbow market fair being held at the Paddington Town Hall on October 19.
Jarrod Lomas explained the intent behind the original Gay Fair saying, “it was a way of bringing together gay businesses in a market style setting to support and promote each other and give back to the community as well.”
This concept would later be adopted by the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival and was the inspiration for Fair Day, which remains one of its most popular events today.
This 2024 edition of Buy Rainbow will be the only business fair in Sydney that exclusively spotlights LGBTQIA+ businesses.
Held in conjunction with NSW Small Business Month and in partnership with the City of Sydney, it will offer a unique opportunity for the LGBTQIA+ community to come together in supporting local enterprises, and celebrating diversity.
And Jarrod revealed that Buy Rainbow in 2024 will actually be held within a couple of days of the anniversary of the original Gay Fair back in 1982.
“There is a lot of history with this project, it’s very cool and businesses are really engaging with it, it’s very grassroots,” Lomas said.

In terms of the businesses that are involved this year, Ricky Hamilton said the event had come together quite quickly.
“There was a lot of interest straight away,” Ricky said.
“We are going to have around forty stalls at the event with a diverse range of businesses from real estate agents to service organisations, and gardening, all the way to jewellery makers and wedding and funeral services.”
Hamilton said the event will be a great opportunity to “take your life from zero to one hundred in one visit” and also noted that one of the businesses, a gin distiller, will be travelling interstate.
“There was a lot of interest from some of our sister organisations in other states to be a part of the fair,” Hamilton said.
“We really want people to hang out and get to hear about other businesses. Even if you’re not buying anything, you get to hear about different brands and to follow the evolution of some of these businesses.”
Lomas said that normally when shopping, “you never know whether you are buying from someone in the community.”
“But we know that people in the community want to support the community,” Lomas said.
“We are stronger together and lift each other up”.
Buy Rainbow will run from 10am to 3pm on October 19 at the Paddington Town Hall and there will be door prizes and exhibitor spotlights throughout the day.

Choosing the Right Portable Toilet: Factors to Consider
When it comes to organising events or managing projects, the importance of choosing the right portable toilet cannot be overstated. The selection of appropriate portable toilets Sydney can significantly enhance convenience and comfort for users, contributing to the overall success of any outdoor event or construction project.
Factors to Consider
Event Type and Duration
The type of event and its duration play a crucial role in determining the most suitable portable toilet. For instance, an outdoor wedding may require more upscale facilities with flushing capabilities and hand sanitisers, while a construction site might prioritise durable units that can withstand heavy usage.
Additionally, festivals and large gatherings may necessitate wheelchair-accessible options to accommodate individuals with disabilities. Understanding the specific requirements of the event or project is essential in choosing the right portable toilet to meet those needs.
Capacity and Usage
It is important to consider the expected number of users when selecting a portable toilet. Whether it's a small gathering or a large-scale event, the unit's capacity should align with the anticipated usage to prevent overflows and ensure a positive user experience.
Having sufficient capacity is critical to maintaining cleanliness and avoiding potential inconveniences for attendees or workers.
Sanitation and Hygiene Features
Sanitation and hygiene should be top priorities when choosing a portable toilet. Essential features such as handwashing stations, air fresheners, and waste containment options contribute to a clean and pleasant restroom experience. The presence of these amenities can significantly impact user satisfaction and overall hygiene standards.
Mobility and Accessibility
The mobility and accessibility of portable toilets Sydney are essential considerations, especially for events or projects with multiple locations. Factors such as size, weight, and accessibility for delivery trucks should be evaluated to ensure smooth transportation and positioning at various sites.
This is particularly important for events spread across different areas or construction projects with shifting work zones.
Environmental Impact
In today's environmentally conscious landscape, the environmental impact of portable toilets cannot be overlooked. Opting for eco-friendly solutions, such as solar-powered units or environmentally conscious waste disposal methods, aligns with sustainability goals and reduces the event or project's ecological footprint.
Minimising environmental impact should be a key consideration when choosing a portable toilet solution.
Conclusion
Choosing the right portable toilet involves a thoughtful consideration of event or project-specific needs and requirements. By prioritising factors such as event type, capacity, sanitation features, mobility, and environmental impact, individuals and businesses can ensure that their choice aligns with principles of convenience, hygiene, and sustainability.
Making an informed decision regarding portable toilets Sydney contributes to the overall success and positive experience of both event attendees and project personnel.
When selecting a portable toilet, it is crucial to take into account the specific event or project requirements, the number of users, sanitation features, mobility, and environmental impact. By considering these factors, individuals and businesses can make an informed choice that enhances the overall experience and aligns with sustainability goals.
