Yesterday I spent the day with my nearest and dearest for my Hen day and my god we had a blast!! The VR game room was amazing followed by lunch and an afternoon in the spa 😍

Wanted to share my wedding bouquet! I'm making all my flowers out of crepe paper (minus a few small ones from michaels), I have 4 bridesmaid bouquets made + 2 table centerpieces. The wedding isn't for another few months, so I still have a bit left to go.

You know maybe doing comic con cosplay and a wedding with lots of last minute DIY all within a two week period wasn't the BEST idea but we sure are doing it

You knitted your wedding dress?? That is so cool!
Thank you! I had two main objectives - keeping the cost of our wedding down (so we DIYed a lot), and also simply not wanting to hunt forever for something that fit my tastes. (I'd had enough of the "hunting" experience when I went shopping for a prom dress haha!)
I started in January and finished the whole thing in August, just a few short weeks before the wedding, which was on Labor Day weekend that year. Had a lot of fun with it - learned some new techniques, did lots of little fancy details (like knitting tiny beads into the fabric!), and ended up with something completely unique. :) I'd never want to do it again; there were easily millions of stitches involved. But as a one-time experience, it was pretty cool! :D

I know I’ve mostly been posting about my dress, but B’s waistcoat has also been an important work in progress! I finally pinned all the painted embroidery today and started sewing on the pocket flowers. I think it’s going to be absolutely perfect. 🌺♥️💍

Finally!

It is ALIVE!!

A very nice wedding gift hoop, and while it only took around 5 whole weeks of rethinking my life choices, working with a burned thumb, and hiding needles from the chidren who wanted to help, it turned out very lovely!
Which is good since it's going to a very lovely person.
Lessons were learned and (hopefully) next time (if I ever find the will to) shall be easyer!

I’m getting married soon. We are both massive nerds, and we met thanks to Breath of the Wild, so naturally our wedding is low key Zelda themed.
Why am I telling you this? Because LOOK AT WHAT I DIY-ED FOR MY BOUQUET!!!

No witty comment - I’m just inordinately pleased with how these turned out.

Megan, a bride-to-be, is making 50 of these skeleton doilies as keepsakes to give the guests at her Halloween wedding. How cool is this?
