Crafting Your Perfect Wedding Chura: Unique Ideas for Every Bride
Planning a wedding involves numerous intricate details, each contributing to the special day. One such significant element for many brides is the Wedding Chura. This traditional bridal accessory holds immense cultural importance and personal sentiment. If you're looking to personalize your chura, this blog will provide unique ideas tailored to every bride.
Understanding the Significance of the Wedding Chura
The Essence of a Wedding Chura
The Wedding Chura is more than just an accessory; it symbolizes marital bliss and prosperity. Traditionally, it consists of a set of red and white bangles, which the bride wears during her wedding ceremony and for a certain period afterward. While the classic design holds timeless appeal, modern brides often seek ways to personalize their chura to reflect their unique style and story.
Why Personalizing Your Wedding Chura Matters
Personalizing your Wedding Chura Set allows you to infuse your personality into this cherished tradition. Whether through color variations, intricate designs, or added embellishments, a customized chura can make your bridal look truly unforgettable.
Unique Ideas for Personalized Wedding Chura
Incorporating Your Love Story
Engraving Special Dates or Initials
One meaningful way to personalize your chura is by engraving special dates or the initials of you and your partner. This subtle yet significant addition can serve as a constant reminder of your special day and the bond you share.
Customizing with Colors and Themes
Matching Your Wedding Theme
While red and white are traditional colors, modern brides are embracing various hues to match their wedding themes. Whether itâs pastel shades for a fairy-tale wedding or bold colors for a vibrant celebration, your chura can reflect the overall aesthetic of your wedding.
Adding Charms and Embellishments
Incorporating Personal Symbols
Adding charms or embellishments that hold personal significance can elevate your Chuda Design. Consider symbols like hearts, stars, or even tiny portraits of loved ones to make your chura uniquely yours.
Blending Tradition with Modernity
Mixing Metals and Materials
For a contemporary twist, consider blending traditional materials with modern elements. Incorporating metals like rose gold or platinum, or using materials such as glass or ceramic beads, can add a modern flair to your WeddingChuda.

at last, my love has come along
Fandom: Gladiator II Pairing: General Acacius x Wife!Reader Rating: PG13 Word count: 2.9k words Summary: After the end of a loveless marriage, your father finds a match for you in General Acacius. Warnings: age gap, arranged marriage, mentions of maternal and infant mortality, widowed reader, widowed Acacius, past neglect, virgin!reader. A/N: Marcus Acacius has me in a chokehold and he knows I like it. This is a second look at the characters from home in three days, do not wash but happens earlier. You can read them in whatever order you wish. Title stolen from Etta James' At Last.
âWhat is he like? The Dominus?âÂ
âHe is very kind,â said one of the girls who worked on your toga. You nodded, the pearls in your earrings brushing against your skin and making the hairs on your body stand upright.Â
âWhat of my hair?âÂ
âWhat of it, Domina?âÂ
âThe sun has already set. You said the Dominus will be home soon,â you said, fidgeting with the silk fabric that your sisters had presented you with before you began your travel from your village to the city. Something that would help you fit in better with the fashionable ladies and not make your husband, the General, look bad in societyâs eyes.Â
It was not for lack of wealth that you did not own many luxurious fabrics. Only that such things did not reach your village easily and your father, despite his place in the Senate, never brought the right things home. Not for a lack of love for you and your siblings but a lack of taste in womenâs clothing and jewelry.Â
You thought as a young girl of only fourteen that your husband, the first one, would bring you the soft silks and lustrous gold unlike your father. But he did not even bring himself home. You had been married off through letters exchanged between him and your father. It took two of living in his mansion and raising his two children from his last marriage before he finally came home. And when he did, he did not act as a husband should. Not how your older sisters told you he ought to be.Â
When Consus passed, you mourned not as a wife but as a friend.Â
âThe dominus prefers unbraided hair,â the girl standing behind you said. You nodded, registering the information in your heart. You wanted to know all that there was to know about him before he even arrived. Perhaps then you would be pleasing enough to have a fate different from your last marriage.Â
It had been all but a year since you were widowed that your father brought you news that you would be wed to a General who lived in the capital. There was no wedding for you even this once. A repeat of your last fate. You had resigned to never knowing your husband when you reached his grand home and spent your night with servants rather than his bed.Â
How foolish you were to hope.Â
But the situation changed for the better quite suddenly when you received word that General Acacius was returning from his travel soon. You expected that the news would calm your nerves but it somehow achieved the opposite. Fear.Â
When the girls were happy with how they had decorated you for your husbandâs eyes, they led you to his chambers. They left you there alone to stew in your anxieties about how the night would fare. The quiet of the night did not help matters. All that filled the space was the tides of the sea and the occasional clinking of your bangles as you fidgeted with your dress.Â
It was all you yearned for in your last marriage, a night of intimacy as a husband and wife should. But now that you were at the precipice of getting what you wanted, dread filled your chest. Youâd heard from your older sisters and servants what it was like to lay with a man. From their stories, it did not seem enjoyable. Not for women. It was only something to bear for the sake of having children. And all you wanted was to have children.Â
You loved Consusâ children of course. They were all you had in the lonely life you led with him. But they were taken from you soon, married off or sent to battle in many campaigns. And you wanted your own children. Have what your brothers and sisters had. Hold your newborns in your arms and raise them from their first breaths rather than from the middle of their childhood.Â
In your fantasizing of motherhood, you had completely forgotten that you had to be bed by your husband to become a mother. You had forgotten your sisters describe how painful it would be the first time a man took you. If oneâs husband was a barbarian with a big cock, it would hurt each time although not as much as the first. A servant girl told you that she had the luxury of a kind husband who would not touch her if she said she was feeling unwell. But there were also husbands who would beat their women for refusing to perform their marital duties when asked.Â
Your thoughts grew louder and louder in your head until you couldnât hear the ocean anymore. And you most certainly did not hear when the doors opened and your husband entered. When you perceived his presence, he was already sat by you. When he spoke your name, your heart nearly jolted out of your chest.Â
He laughed softly and looked you over with a smile on his plush lips. The candle lights illuminated his golden skin and the strands of gray that interspersed his dark hair. The candle on his other side shone bright to highlight his silhouette, his aquiline nose standing bold, characteristic of a valorous man. The sight had you transfixed and you wondered if his godlike visage aided him in battle. If it distracted his enemies long enough for him to slay them.Â
He reached his hand out to yours, brought it up from your lap and placed a kiss on your fingers. He looked up at you from your fingers, his brown eyes drawing you in like Cupido himself was pulling your strings like a marionette.Â
âI have kept you waiting for long.âÂ
Not as long as Consus did. But you kept the comment to yourself. Youâd never come close to a marital bed but something told you that men did not want to hear about a womanâs previous husband.Â
You spoke for the first time in his presence. âYou are an important man. I understand.âÂ
He smiled, dropping your hand to the space between you but not leaving it. His hand was rough from battle yet gentle in touch. It enveloped yours, exuding a soft dominance like the rest of him did. He was quite large and you winced internally, hoping that it did not translate to his size elsewhere. Did your sisters ever tell you about the relationship between the size of his man and his manhood? You couldnât quite remember.Â
âHave the servants made the home comfortable for you? It has been quite a while since this home had a domina.âÂ
You nodded and licked your lips, wishing you could run out to fetch some water for your drying mouth. âIt is comfortable. And very beautiful. I have never seen the ocean before.âÂ
âThere is nothing like the peace the sound of the waves brings. Nothing like the cool breeze at night and relaxing on the balcony to indulge in the stunning blue expanse.âÂ
âThe sight of the ocean when the sun sets is truly incomparable. I spent many evenings mesmerized by it.âÂ
Like magic, the pressure in your lower belly disappeared. You spoke about the beauty of Rome and indulging in it. He put you at ease, drawing smiles out of you, each one wider than the last. But you had a way of finding something to torture yourself over. As you exchanged details about your past, you blurted the question out.Â
âAm I to your liking?âÂ
âYou are beautiful. Worthy of the praises your father sings of his younger daughter in the senate. And at banquets. The bathhouses and libraries and markets. Rome does not know your name but she knows you.âÂ
âIâŠâ you swallowed, relieved that he found you beautiful but afraid for everything else to come. You were inexperienced but even you knew that beautiful faces were not enough to be an adequate wife. It was not adequate for Consus and you did not want a repetition of that with the General. âI do not know what you require in a wife. But I will learn. I have kept my hair out of braids. I learned that you prefer it that way. I will learn everything else too.âÂ
Please allow me to learn. Do not discard me for my inadequacies before I have the opportunity to prove myself.Â
âYour father also described you as dutiful. I see he was right.âÂ
âStand up,â he said and took your hand once again, guiding you to stand in front of him. âUndress. Let me see you.âÂ
He leaned towards the headboard of the bed, relaxing with his arm draped over it as he looked at you. You felt your heart thud like a galloping horse on the battlefield. Like a good soldier would, you persisted into your own battle and undid the ties and clasps that kept your clothes in place. He sat back, exuding power with his broad shoulders, wide chests and thick thighs spread apart.Â
Something about the situation made you feel like cattle in the market being evaluated by customers. Did the cows feel the way you did? Did they wonder as they were purchased if they would be slaughtered for meat or kept to be bred and milked? At least they had the peace of mind knowing that the man who bought them was satisfied with his purchase.Â
The General hadnât seen you before he took you for a wife.Â
Silk pooled around your legs and the cold breeze heâd waxed poetic about caressed your skin. The cold and the shame of being bare in front of a man persuaded you to cross your arms over your chest. You kept your eyes on the ground, focusing on his feet and yours being so close together.Â
You jumped when his hand grazed your elbow but refused to look at him for fear of what you would find. Disappointment? Disgust? Anger? You could not fathom which would be the worse outcome.Â
âDo not hide from your husband,â he said, gently prying your arms apart. Arms by your side, you dug your fingernails into your palm to keep from covering yourself again. Consus never laid a hand on youâ never bedded you, never hit you. The General had been sweet so far, but you did not know who he was and what he did when angered.Â
He held your hip and caressed your soft skin with his calloused hand. You inhaled sharply, overwhelmed by the proximity of his hand to your core. You pressed your thighs together, your feminine demureness anxious to keep your most intimate parts hidden from menâs eyes.Â
âTurn around. Slowly,â he said, guiding you by your hips. As soon as you faced away from him, you brought your hands back up to cover your breasts. He did not seem to notice as his hand trailed down to your rear and grabbed your flesh in both hands. You whimpered, feeling somehow more exposed though you had not become more naked.
âBeautifulâŠâ he hummed as he rotated you to face him once again. You dropped your arms to your sides as though you had touched a hot pot, his instruction ringing in your ear.Â
âAnd obedient⊠I could not have chosen better. Now show me what you can do, girl.â It was enough for you to finally look up at him. There were none of the expressions you feared you would see. He looked quite relaxed and you were afraid you would ruin that with your ignorance of what you were to show him.Â
âI will do anything you ask,â you answer meekly, hoping he would tell you exactly what he wanted you to do. Hoping he would instruct you every step of the way.Â
âShow me how you will serve me.âÂ
You swallowed, thinking through every bit of information your sisters and servants had given on pleasing a man. It all came down to obedience, to lying down and taking what your husband gave you. Were you supposed to do something else?Â
âP-please,â you whispered, the world distorted as it spilled from your trembling lips. âShow me what I should do.âÂ
He stood up, startling you and forcing you to take a step back. He placed a hand on your lower back and caressed gently like you did a litter of feral kittens when you were a girl.Â
He placed a finger under your chin and nudged you to look up at him. âNothing you should do, beautiful girl. I only want what you want to do.âÂ
âI have neverâŠâ you trailed, shaking your head in denial. âI am still chaste,â you blurted out. He froze in place, deep brown eyes boring into you.
âYour father said you were a devoted mother.âÂ
âTo Consusâ children. Borne by his first and second wives. After his second wife died in childbirth, heâ I raised the children.âÂ
âYou do not want children of your own?âÂ
âI do!â You exclaimed quickly, afraid this life would be taken from you once again. You kept silent throughout your marriage and you couldnât do that again. Not if it meant your womb staying barren. âI do. Consus, heâ both his wives before me died in childbirth and the childrenâ he did not want them to lose another mother. So he never touched me. I am chaste.âÂ
âYour father did not tell me.âÂ
âI did not tell him. Consus wrote to my family that I lost pregnancies. Had my father known that he wasâ that we did not live as a married man and womanâ he would have had me divorce him. Consus did not want that for the children and I could not tell my family the truth until he passed. Please⊠If my father believed I could not bear children, he would not have arranged for our marriage.âÂ
You naively believed your father would have informed the General of your predicament. Giving oneâs daughter to a man when you believed her barren was no small slight. Your felt as though a stone had lodged itself in your throat. You had just doomed yourself and your father. He could march up to the senate come sunrise. Humiliate your father. Take his sword to his neck. All because you were too foolish to know how to please a man.Â
âWhat of you?â
âWhat of me?â You asked, confused. He took your hands in his and guided you to sit on the bed. He joined beside you.
âWhy did you remain loyal to such a loathsome man? One who besmirched you to your family rather than admit to his deficiencies as a man?âÂ
âI was young and foolish. When I realized that he would never give me children, I⊠he had already lied enough to my family about myââ you stopped and shook your head. There was no need to speak ill of the dead man. No need to remind yourself how your barrenness made you the laughing stock of the village. âI resigned myself to the fate the gods had chosen for me. And I grew to love his children as my own.â
âI want more children. I haâ all my sons are dead, a few daughters too.âÂ
You nodded, your chest clenching from the pained look in his eyes. It was universal. Almost everyone whoâd had children had lost children. But the pain never subsided. Youâd seen it in your sisters, noble women of the highest ranking, in servants and slaves. The first time in a General.
âI want to have children.âÂ
He smiled and nodded before picking up your linen stola from the ground and wrapping it around you. He cupped your cheek, his hand engulfing the entirety of your face. He tilted his head, a soft sigh escaping his lips as his eyes bore into yours.
You leaned closer to him, praying you remembered how to kiss from the few times with a servant girl when you were only thirteen. Anticipation and anxiety had your heart racing together. When he finally touched his lips to yours, he quietened every anxiety, leaving only excitement behind. You placed a hand on his armor, the hardness of the metal underneath the leather contrasting the softness of his lips. Your other hand moved of its own accord, finding the nape of his neck. His soft curls tickled your fingers and he sighed into the kiss.Â
He traced your lips with the tip of his tongue and you opened up, welcoming him. A sense of calm settled in you as you explored each other. In his arms, you found safety for the first time since your arrival. His lips coaxed you to the gates of heaven and you followed as you imagined soldiers followed your General into war. With some fear of the uncharted territory yet brave because they trusted his leadership.
When you pulled away from each other, something felt changed. He no longer felt like a stranger. Something in his eyes, an openness inviting you into his life.Â
The ravages of war and time were evident in his features. A scar on the bridge of his nose perhaps from a time he came too close to his own end. His skin was spotted with marks from the sun. His eyes were soft not from the naĂŻvetĂ© of youth but from seeing the harsh world. His golden skin peeked from under his beard decorated with a few grey flecks. You caressed a patch of skin where his beard did not grow.Â
Not an hour had passed since you met him but in his embrace, glancing into his eyes, you knew life would be peaceful.

thinking of a yandere! corpse bride jingliu who was to be wed once upon an amber era ago, but became marastruck and was robbed of the chance. youâve found yourself distraught with the matchmaker, running away in cowardice to gather your thoughts. thankfully the light of the full moon illuminates your otherwise dreary path, as your aimless wandering leads you into a thick forest, far from civilisation and the help of any other lost souls. eventually, you stumble upon what you can only presume to be a statue. a still, immortalised figureâ that of an undeniably beautiful lady. sheâs dressed to the nines in a red qungua, embroidered and embellished with gold accents, a grand phoenix coronet atop her head, and golden dragon and phoenix bangles. overgrown vines and flora have distorted her appearance though, climbing over her shoulders, arms, and covering her eyes. itâs a shame, really. you presume the lifelike sculpture was created to honour this unknown woman, you almost start to believe itâs a sign for you to rethink your own marital decisions. out of respect, you begin brushing off the vegetation from the statue, starting with the easy parts like the hands and arms and moving your way up. when it comes time to uncover her eyes, youâre suddenly overwhelmed with a sense of dread. like a warning from the aeons above⊠but you proceed anyways, unveiling the last of the effigy. theyâre a deep, dark red, and you find yourself getting lost in the colour; youâve never seen anyone with suchâ! quick hands grabbing at your throat stop you from thinking any further. panic and fear set in as the once motionless statue speaks to you in long, drawn out pauses. youâre a fool, she thinks. and with her newfound freedom, jingliu will happily take yours as well.

Elrondâs Jewellery collection!
Some things that were handed down, gifted or just bought for himself. only a select few pieces, his full collection needs an entire room of its own.
Peacock hair comb - belonged to Maglor. It was bought by Celegorm from a street vender in central Tirion for Maglorâs birthday. He said that since Maglor acted like a peacock so he may as well dress as one.
Lily flower earings - a gift from Cirdan after Elrond and Elrosâs return. The boys were going through a lot mentally especially Elrond as Elros began to get closer to the Edain. Lilyâs are a symbol of rebirth and resurrection.
Elwingâs wedding ring - once belonged to Elenweâs. Jewellery making wasnât a major priority in the havens of sirion so this was the best Earendil could do.
Golden cuff with a beautiful picture of a field on a sunny day carved into it. - Belonged to his nurse from Sirion. He took it from her corpse. She had no family left in middle earth so he kept it with the intention of returning it one day.
A set of rings each with a little dogs carved into it. - Bought from Haladin merchant.
Delicate pearl necklace with two small swanâs intertwining. - Gifted from a tween Findekano with a not-at-all-obvious crush to Maitimo after he returned from visiting Aqualonde.
Cherry blossom Hairpin - that functions as dagger. From a sindar lord with a bit of a crush.
Bronze bangles - Celebrimbor bought them from Narvi and sent them to Lindon as one of Elrondâs coming of age gifts.
Crystal earrings previously belonged to Galadriel. He claims to not know how they ended up in his possession.
Seahorse Broach bought in Numenor during a visit to his nieces and nephews.
Flower crown made of solid gold crafted by Feanor after Maitimo went through a very public and very bad break up with a Vanya nobleman. He showed up to the spring festival wearing it like princess Diana in her revenge dress.
A heavy golden choker with red jewels. Gifted to Maitimo by Melkor on his birthday during the years of the trees no one was comfortable with this least of all Maitimo but he couldnât refuse a gift from one of the Valar so publicly. Even Celebrimborâs maia friend seemed very tense and almost angry when he saw it. Mostly stays inside jewellery box, occasionally goes on display in museums.
A little coin with boats on a raging ocean engraved on it Earendil found it washed up on the beach and gave it to him and Elros to share. Has a little gold chain that lets it be worn as a necklace.

Her Bangles
Anthony Ă Kate
Summary: Anthony doesnt mind people, especially when they are congratulating him on his wonderful wedding. But right now, he could use a moment alone with his lovely wife. Actually, he always needs a moment alone with her.
Word count: 2.2k
Warnings: fluffy fluffy fluff
Authors Note: ok not being shown the Kanthony wedding still makes me cry honestly. But ukw that doesnt stop me from writing scenarios. So hahahahahaha here you go
Also this is so not proof read. Deal with me please.
The room swam before his eyes, his feet moving a little too slowly just to make sure he didnt tip over, fall on his face, make a joke of himself on the best day of his life.
It wasn't the alcohol - he had hardly taken a sip off Benedict's glass, one that had been forced down his throat in the name of merriment, to be sure.
It wasn't that he was unwell either. Nor was he tired. It was just something about the crowds, the noise, the hand shaking and congratulations that had lost its familiarity quite swiftly. It's like he had been the centre of attention, the all-knowing, all-seeing source of gossip and now here he was just wishing for a quiet, alone, peaceful moment with the woman of his dreams.
Woman of his dreams. He liked the sound of that. Quite sly of him to just admit to himself the many sleepless nights his wonderful viscountess had once given him. This new honesty, it seemed to become him.
He felt a weight, a jingling in his pocket and smiled at the thoughts. Her bangles. The pretty, delicate, green adornments that remained imprinted on his mind as if part of her themselves.
Had she forgotten them? Had they been tainted by the hurt of that stupid, stupid day when he chose to break the heart of her sister, his betrothed? Were they touched by the kiss she gave him that evening?
He had no way of knowing. But the prospect of being visited once again by that beautiful and almost surreal smile when she saw the bangles, the smile that his wife bestowed only upon him, well that thought even made him bounce on his heels. In impatience. In excitement.
There was but a slight delay between the moment his gaze landed on Kate as he scanned the room and his feet took him to her before even his mind could process everything he saw.
The waiter handing out refreshments was easily dodged, Colin with a beauty on one hand and champagne in the other was ignored and forgotten as Anthony ducked under his arm to get to his wife.
His wife. His wife. His fucking wife.
How many times had he said these words to himself in the past hour or two? He had lost count.
"What are you smiling about?" He was used to being greeted with questions now. Questions, taunts, teasing retorts. All of it.
But presently all he wanted to do was kiss the woman in front of him. And that he did. His arm wrapped around her waist, he leaned in as Kate met his lips with a small laugh. He let himself settle into the feel of her, her scent rushing through his senses, the feel of her skin rendering all coherence impossible.
His tongue brushed along hers with a desire he had waited hours to unleash before she pulled away with an embarrassed smile and turned him towards his mother who looked at him with the kind of satisfaction that always set him at ease.
"I've finally done something right, havent I, Mother?", he chuckled. Violet Bridgerton, however, always with some rebuke for her eldest on her lips, held herself back this time. She had watched him be weary, tired, annoyed, helpless, broken? But this new glow he had on his face. The bubble of Marital Bliss that entrapped him now. She knew she wouldn't be the one to even pin prick through it.
So all she did was reach her hand out to caress the cheek of her daughter-in-law, a silent thank you for saving her son. "This is by far the best thing you have done, Anthony."
The smile on Kate's cheeks almost ushered a tear to her eyes but before she could thank her new mother for taking her in, Violet had turned and left the scene, leaving the newly weds with their moment of privacy.
Wiping the wetness on her skin, Anthony pulled her in for another peck, a short lived one this time, his hands settling something heavy in her palms as their mouths detached.
He was almost bouncing like a spring toy right where he stood and his energy was contagious. She pulled apart the draw strings on the bag, her teeth instinctively gnawing at her lip when she saw the green accessories before her.
A flurry of images - Amma bestowing the bangles to her, her fingers holding onto then a little as she responsibly handed them over to Edwina, Anthony's fingers and hers - they rushed through her brain like a tornado and left her stumped.
She looked up at her husband, the light of her life, who was now pulling the ornaments from her hands and slowly slipping them onto her wrists.
"I love you.", she whispered to him. And then looked away, back to where their hands were holding each other, just as they had on that fated day not too long ago. She let her fingers entwine with his, his chin resting on her shoulder, a low sigh of relief escaping both their lips as they let the reality set in.
"I love you, too.", he answered. More fact than instinct. Like he'd said it from somewhere deep within himself. She squeezed her eyes shut. Allowing herself to detach from the moment. From the people and the chatter and the fact that she was part of a new family and a new place and a new person.
She belonged to Anthony today. And he belonged to her. And his heart as it beat somewhere right next to her, told her that it would be that way till the very of end of themselves.
For better or for worse, in peace and to the very end of every argument, from the flowers at her desk to the jewels on her wrist. This was it. Her peace. Her life. Her husband.
And finally, she was ready to allow it to happen to herself. Something she had kept at bay for years.
Happiness.

After the incident, you told Sukuna that he wouldn't stifle you. As for Suguru's situation, you couldn't make an explicit assumption; for all you know, it was a warning to you both. Suguru is your faraway dream, and you were his too. Another part you know is that killing Suguru would be like child's play, but it wouldn't look good on Sukuna unless he starts undermining Suguru with hidden intentions. You don't wish for Suguru to be harmed in any way; even the thought of it sends your heart lurching in heartache.
You shift under your seat as the cold air bites your face. It was early in the morning when Sukuna had taken you out for a morning hunt. Everything was set up the previous day before. Sukuna had even invited a handful of Lords to hunt with him, to form connections. He also thought it would be good for you as you have locked yourself away in your room for days after the banquet; he thinks it's childish whenever you would do that to avoid his confronting nature. You could care less about what he feels at this point.
Fiddling with your bangle inside the muff, you twist and turn the familiar jeweled gift. Then there's your Aunt; the pressure from her was also getting to you. Selfish is the best word to describe her; a bitter feeling of resentment starts to form within your chest as you have come to accept the view you have of her. Your Aunt Setsuko and Sukuna aren't that much of a discrepancy; both set out to use people as they see fit in their agenda.
Your attention was brought back when the sound of horses' hooves and men urging their steed to go faster descended from the hills. A jackal was running rapidly, with hounds chasing after their tail. An arrow whizz past and almost hits the animal as it sidesteps to the side to avoid it. Sukuna was leading, riding the red steed that dashes across the dewy and chilly plain. Sukuna raises the bow with steady arms and hands, his uncanny eyes trained on the animal before releasing the string. The arrow hits the jackal as it staggers forward, rolling a few times against the ground as the hounds pounce to keep it dead and still.
Everyone congratulates Sukuna for being keen eyes as they all slow their horses down to an ambling pace. Servants quickly swept the hounds aside and picked up the now-dead animal, and hurried off to deal with it. Sukuna basked in the attention he was given, accepting them before brushing off the other minor and major lords. He pulls the rein of the horse in your tent's direction.
Rising from your seat, two maids appeared to assist you by holding your forearms as you carefully stepped off the heated coal pots placed underneath your feet to keep them warm. Seiin, the firey steed notice you and picks up its speed to hurry on over. The horse was a gift for your congratulatory wedding from your clan. Seiin was only one of the few red steeds born and raised on your farm; considering it's a scarce breed, Seiin was above average from a normal war horse. They were a total upgrade. It could outpace any horse for hours, and its stamina was limitless since it brought Sukuna's never-ending winning of conquering lands and people alike. You almost forgot that each clan member ran a different course for bribery. Your father used to run a ranch for breeding war horses (now it falls to you). Once your wedding with Sukuna happened, your Aunt deliberately solidified the pact and decided to trade the horses for power without consulting with you first.
When Seiin was near enough, Sukuna hopped off the horse. Seiin snorted as it impatiently wanted you to pet its snout and brush its dark red hair. You pull out a hand from the muff and caress a pointer to the length of Seiin's nose; they nuzzle their face closer. The equine sure is spoiled. You don't remember them being this double in size and height.
"Took a long time to get this steed to obey me," Sukuna starts, and you only pay attention to him for a fraction with your eyes before flicking them away to the horse again. The story of how Sukuna gets Seiin was funny; it almost made you think that the War Demon couldn't tame a beast. Seiin was probably secretly a mule in disguise; they hated any rider or person who attempted to claim them; they're more familiar with you out of everyone. When Seiin was presented to Sukuna, it was on sight for the horse to run him over and stomp its hooves on the ground to scare off Sukuna. It was futile since Sukuna was a person who loved challenges, and Seiin happened to present them to him.
All it took was a lot of being tied to the pole, brushed, fed, and given lots of freedom to stretch its legs daily, which spoiled the horse. Then it got its owner's temper, too; Seiin was Sukuna's pride.
"You have been in your room for a few weeks; what's so crucial that you have forbidden me? Is Suguru that important?" You slightly glare, "Also, that brat took longer to leave than usual." You could tell that Sukuna was trying to get a rise out of you, a bait for you to take. If you have taken it, it will bring endless hours to get him off your back. He moves fast with assumptions, and it's scarily accurate, too, with how he gathered information.
Turning away from Sukuna, you pat Seiin a few times, then return to your tent.
The reason why you have spent more time in your room is for a reason; you can't rely on anyone anymore. Not your Aunt Setsuko, who seems ready to abandon you if your final strike occurs, and you have to admit, the advantage of having Sukuna's affection starts to wear you thin. The harem is relentless in trying to remove you, and if that happens, then you're easily disposable. But they couldn't do that. It was known multiple times if you were gone, then the deal with both families would fall through, and trade would also cease to exist.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Yumi asks warily as you settle on wearing a man's clothes. You use the excuse of doing your charity work to go out for something you've been planning to do.
"If I don't do it now, when will I ever will? I didn't use all that time in my room reading and teaching me about politics and finances." Telling Yumi she couldn't argue back, not when concern always seems to paint her face these days. "Stall as long as you can," you order, adjusting the male hakama; you try to give off the air and posture of a man. "I'll try to be back before sundown."
Sliding the door open, Yuichi was outside; arms crossed as he awaited you.
You nudge with your head for him to follow you. When you both were outside the small rented compound you use for charity work, Yuichi cast you aside glance, "You told me to scout the area and ask for any willing participants if they're going to give up their property to you, and I found a few."
"You work fast," you inquire with a small smile, and Yuichi huffs his chest, proud of his work. "No spear today?" Yuichi never goes anywhere without his weapon, and today is a rare day.
"No need to for today, and I wanted to ask why you need an inn out of all places." The young man scratches his head behind you, "I mean, with your wealth and power, you could easily build or buy a better one."
You chuckle a bit, "My father used to tell me something interesting when I was a child, and today, I decided to put it to the test," looking at Yuichi, who peers down at you with curious eyes. "Are you familiar with how business people work?" Yuichi turned away, even more confused, as he wasn't well-versed or educated in an area that wasn't his expertise. "You know how when a robber or criminal is going to rob you, they always announce it and hold a weapon against you?" The man nodded, "But when it comes to business people, they'll steal it right before you without saying many things, even if you do or don't realize."
Yuichi: "So you're saying you're going to steal?"
You: "Do you consider being persuasive with words stealing?"
Yuichi: "I mean, it is under the pretense, so kind of, I guess?"
You laugh, "I'm going to make them give it to me; if not, I can always gamble it."
Yuichi did a double take, "You're scary when you want to be." The man didn't expect this from you, but he felt you change a little. Yuichi often spends time with you helping those who are in need, and seeing you taking charge of something for real is uncalled.
The both of you walk a bit further until you've reached a run-down inn. Seeing the worn-out sign of the inn's name hanging up at the entrance tells you how long it was in business. Stepping inside the inn, you could see the wooden beams and pillars were also worn out. There were chips here and there, and even the tables and chairs were old.
"Hello? Anyone?" Yuichi calls out into the empty room before someone emerges from the back. You assume it was the owner. They're in their mid-fifties when you could spot specks of grey in their dark hair and fine lines marring their tan face. The owner's eyes speak of years of hardship in this world. "You remember when I said I would bring a friend, right?"
"Go away; the place is not for sale." The owner motioned his arms to shoo you and Yuichi away.
"Business is not good, I'm assuming?" You question the owner while your eyes still trace around and find no soul or customer in the room.
"It is doing good, just that you're in the way." The owner bites back. He grabs a nearby broom and kicks your foot out of the way with it, and sweeps the front and entrance.
Yuichi leans over to you and whispers in your ear while his eyes linger on the old man, "How about we just go look at the other ones?"
Clicking your tongue, you brush him off, "Sir," you turn around to meet the older man with a smile and try to present an air of friendliness. "How about a game?" You're just going straight for the jugular at this point; no need to play coy, yet, with a stubborn man.
"Game? I don't have time for that," refusing you, you held your smile.
"Well, if you win, I won't bother you again, and it would be a shame if this place were to shut down. I could tell a lot of history and time were poured into this place. Not many know how to run an inn, let alone for more than several generations." Your words seem to catch their ears as you swipe a finger across a table, seeing grey coating your fingertip. "Also heard that if you fail to pay this month's rent, you'll be evicted." Innocently smiling, you could see the older man fuming, "Competition is sure rough around these parts, isn't it?"
Old man: "Who are you?"
You: "A buyer. A renter, of course."
"You know a lot more than you let on," The man-trained eyes pierced your own; he couldn't read your orbs. "Then I'll entertain you as long as you're out of my hair."
Conversing with the man, you and he repeatedly placed the black-and-white pieces of smooth small stones on the board until it was nearly filled. Yuichi, who was watching from the side with his eyes zoning onto the Go board, then it flicked back and forth in between you and the older man.
"Ah! I give up! Name your price," the owner fickled out and grabbed a nearby heated pot, and poured himself a drink. He was trying to calm that irregular heart of his that could lead to a potential heart attack.
You trace the board and see how the majority of your white pieces were constantly surrounding and consuming his black pieces. The man was already defeated ten different times, but you just prolonged it. You must thank Sukuna for teaching you (not like you're ever going to) if he wasn't pestering you when he had nothing else to do. The game Go was introduced to Sukuna by the Chinese who came to do trading, and Sukuna, who has a penchant for mind-stimulating things, didn't hesitate to take it. The man didn't regret it; if not, he put all his war tactics and strategies onto that board when playing against the Chinese traders and conquering them as if it was a real battle.
"I won't directly buy the place; if renting would suffice you. You would still be the owner, but co-owner, at least." The man was about to speak up, but you raised a hand, saying you're not done. "I'm looking into putting interest and investing," standing up from your seat, you examine many things in the room. "But to do that, we need to start working from the bottom and up. We are not going to get rid of everything, but we could still keep the rustic feeling this place have. This place needs major improvement."
After going over things with them, you could tell that they were much more relaxed, not by a lot, although.
"I won't always be able to come and check up on this place; I'll be sending-" patting Yuichi's chest with a few hits; he didn't expect that, "-this guy in my stead along with a letter of instructions of how to keep this place afloat. I'll also desire a report from you too, sir."
"Taiju. Taiju Mori." Finally introduced himself, and you nodded in acknowledgment.
"As your employer, Seijuro Hajime, it's nice meeting you," telling him your alias, you headed off with Yuichi.
Once you're at a distance, Yuichi stops in front of you. "Now I'm your messenger?" He asks in disbelief when pointing at himself, as he can't believe all the roles you're giving him. "You know I am-"
Cutting Yuichi off, you told him, "You're being paid for your hard work with free lodging at the inn, also with the all-you-can-eat-and-drink too."
Yuichi: "Sold."
You laugh, and that shuts him up quickly. Before you can enjoy your outing more, the shadow becomes longer and darker, with the night coming faster along the chilly winds. The burnt orange sky is cast above the horizon with the setting sun. Patrol guards were roaming out in the streets now to switch their routines. "We have to hurry back." Around this time is when Sukuna usually sends guards from the castle to escort you back home too.
Sukuna has just come back from one of his concubine's rooms. For they have just successfully given birth to his child, he was there to name them. Roaming the hall, he noticed that your quarter was quiet when he came across, "Has Lady (Name) not home yet?" The surrounding servants and guards shook their heads rapidly, indicating a 'no' as they were afraid to look him in the eyes.
It wasn't until you came into view the retainers finally let out a sigh of relief. "My Lady!" They shout in unison, one after another. You try not to let your discomfort and hostility show when you spot Sukuna, and the man notices how your eyes seem to harden. He smiles at that.
"You came back later than usual (Name)," Sukuna then waved a hand, "you all are dismissed; I wish to be alone with my wife." All the servants nodded once and single-file out of your quarter to idle on another job or chore, waiting for them. Yumi was the last one to leave. "I've missed you ever since you left me this morning at the hunting ground," he proclaimed, taking long strides to reach you, and you steel yourself when Sukuna suddenly wrapped his arms around you. "Be a dear and entertain me tonight, would you?"
Ripping yourself from his hold, your eyes quiver with rage. "I'm not your womb breeder nor your cunt warmer," sneering at him, Sukuna let out a breathy laugh.
"I thought you had lost your fire for a moment," he moves a hand to caress your face you slap it away harshly.
You: "Don't touch me."
Sukuna's displeasure was partially showing, and before you could react any further, he held both sides of your face, "I've been very patient with you." Rapid as lightning, he brought his lips onto yours, and your eyes widened in surprise. You are tugging and trying to pull yourself away from him, but he grips your face even tighter than before. The taste of lingering sweet and bitter alcohol from Sukuna's tongue attaches to your tongue too. Both yours and his feet were awkwardly dancing around to find proper footing as you swerved and hit a wall. Sukuna takes the leisure of your gasping moment, the need for air to implore more of your cavern as he trails one hand down your face, then it once again snakes around your waist.
Pulling you close as possible, he grips the obi sash. "I'm not going to take a no from you," he spoke in between the kisses, and he hoisted you by the waist and quickly took you to your room with you protesting and screaming obscenities at him.
Your people rounded the corner, popping their heads to see just in time for the outer layer of Sukuna's hakama floating through the air before it was cut off by your door slamming shut and echoing in the hallways. They had never seen Sukuna act like this before; for all they knew, it was always being sweet towards you, but seeing how rambunctious their master was made everyone's mouths open in disbelief.
Meanwhile...
Around the same time, it was time for the evening lunch for everyone. With your and Sukuna's empty seat, Eisha asks a nearby manservant, "Where is the Lord and Lady (Name)?"
The manservant was hesitant to say anything as they opened their mouth a few times before uttering a sentence. "T-The Lord and Lady (Name) won't be dining tonight." Eisha raised her brow, and the man inch closer until he was whispering to her what was going on, and Eisha balled her fists. Fits of jealousy and anger slowly drown her. Masking her face with a look of understanding, she dismisses him, and they quickly wait on the sideline.
"Everyone, it seems like we will be dining without Lord Sukuna and Lady (Name)." A murmur of slight groans and agitation filled the air. Eisha picked up her pair of chopsticks, and the rest followed suit.
Back to you...after a few hours
Sukuna pinned you beneath him; his callous hand had both your wrists bound above your head while one tightly gripped your sweltering hip. Your face was flushed, and your chest was heaving out of breath, but you were stubborn in not making any noises. Sukuna, although successfully tearing one or two or more out of you. You were quick to shut up by biting your lips until you felt they were bleeding.
Sweat trickled down his body and dropped onto yours as he felt another one coming close, and so did yours; Sukuna lost track of time when the sun disappeared, and the full moon rose high in the night sky.
Rutting into you like you both were the only ones in the world, Sukuna tried to prolong the upcoming orgasm as long as possible, but it was inevitable. The fire in your belly was about to erupt again, and you knew. Trying to squirm away, Sukuna grunts out for you to stay still as he tries to chase after his high and make yours come along with his when he starts to pace himself faster.
You hate it when he keeps brushing your sensitive spot, abusing it to no end, and your sanity waning each time. So you turn your head to the side to hide. He already attained it with his fingers to prepare you, and now he is plowing you like an open field in different ways.
Sukuna suddenly stutters his hip forward to meet yours, and you yelp when your thighs tense up and enclose his well-defined waistline. He lets out a throaty and breathy groan when finally filling you up again with your walls gripping his shaft.
Letting go of your wrists, Sukuna stilled for a moment before getting off you and seeing how soiled the futon was from the love-making. You had your eyes close; brows pinched together. Whether it was from trying to regain yourself or you being angry for letting this happen, Sukuna saw how your emotions were all over the placeâthe aftermath of all.
He combed a hand through his slick, drenched hair; the scent of two body that was once conjoined still permeates through the atmosphere. "Grab me and Lady (Name) some refreshments," Sukuna demands, many feet shifting outside the screen door; after a rendezvous, he feels an appetite for his pipe too.
"Get out," you speak up, voice rather tired.
"Not until you're properly taken care of," Sukuna threw your nagujaban on top of you before grabbing and wearing his own.
"My Lord," a muffled voice was heard outside, and Sukuna went to slide the door a fraction. He grabs the refreshments and uses his frame to block out any onlookers before closing the door with a snap shut.
You viciously avoided Sukuna to prevent yourself from doing something stupid like wringing his neck or poisoning his food. To keep yourself busy, you had often gone out more and kept tabs on the inn as it made progress on attracting more customers and former locals.
You were thinking about improving the inn more until an ingratiating voice appeared behind you.
"Ah, I thought it was Concubine Sei, but it's only you, Lady (Name)," you turn around to meet the lavender eyes of Concubine Sena, who is holding a newborn in her arms with a sardonic grin. She hushes the squirming child and pats its bottom. "Don't know why Lord Sukuna kept you around when you can't produce him an heir. I'm starting to think that you're a barren woman."
You only chide with a side smirk. Out of all the concubines who would talk back to you is Concubine Sena. "I'm glad you finally developed awareness or critical thinking; tell me something I don't know." That wipe off the smirk from his face quickly. "I was almost worried for a second if you're going to be like me, childless too, but fate had decided to bestow you a second child."
Sena: "What are you inquiring about? Are you cursing my child? Lord Sukuna would hear from me about you cursing my son!"
Sniggering at her with a laugh, you brought up a hand to hide the laughter before continuing, "I wasn't going to stoop this low, but I'll say it since I'm feeling petty and far from my acting like a (Surname) clanswoman," taking a step closer to her until she feels threatened, Sena held her son tightly and close to her chest. "Hope that your child here lives passed three moons, unlike your first one, don't want history to repeat itself since your Hanamiya women are reputable for bad luck."
"How dare you!" Sena seeth out, "Servants! Held down this woman and slapped her foul mouth!" A few made advances, but you cut it short.
"Touch me and see what happens when Lord Sukuna finds out." They all stumble in their steps and refuse to take another out of fear, "I may not share the same affections he has for me, but I am very much favor unlike you." Then your face changes instantly, cold and calculating. "How long have you been wanting him but still haven't got it? We both arrived and married Sukuna at the same time at the tender age of eighteen, and his eyes are always on me." Feigning a sad expression, you place a hand on your chest, depicting a wound over your heart. "How sad you'll always come second to me."
Sometimes you don't like using Sukuna's name aimlessly like this, but it's worth it to make them or anyone like Sena back off.
After all, you have elsewhere to be and time better spent on.

radio- daryl dixon imagine (short)
you and daryl find a radio, and of course you're curiosity kills you to hear music one more time.
you and daryl go to an abandoned house during the prison era, trying to find food or whatever it is rick told you to bring back, whether that be for judith or hershel.
you scavenged through the house, you came across a radio and some cds. you didn't think much of it, considering it would be impossible to get a signal on it. daryl even said "just leave it, s'not important." however, as you were gonna put it down, you noticed a couple batteries in the back.
curious, you try to turn it on and to you're amazement, it actually works. you set it on the desk, sifting through the cds scattered on the floor, most shattered.
however you pull out one that stood out. you decided to set the cd in, shut the cd door, and press play. suddenly Eternal Flame comes on.
it felt as if you hadn't heard music in a lifetime, this was of course a rarity. daryl heard the radio, carefully shuffling inside with his cross bow, as he watched you listen."don't play that too loud, it might attract a walker" which you responded by getting up and going "shut up-" and holding his hand.
you brought him to sit on the floor with you, so you could listen. you held hands, wedding rings evident on your fingers. leaning your head against his shoulder, you let out a sigh, trying to forget everything. daryl was quiet, not saying anything, he just looked at you with a soft gaze, leaning down and kissing your hair."I haven't heard this in years-" he said through his raspy voice, which you responded with a smile.
he knew how important this was for you, how this might be you're only chance at peace for a long time."I love you-" daryl said quietly.
of course when daryl said something, he meant it with sincerity. which this shocked you, you knew daryl loved you, but he never said it. you looked up at him, smiling softly."I love you too."
he couldn't help but smile as you listened, he knew you'd have to get back to the prison before long. however, maybe, just maybe, he could smuggle some cds, a radio, and batteries for you. you both continued to listen, just enjoying one another's company to get away from everything for a change. needless to say, you both listened to that radio all night long

Courting gifts and proposing
They courting process may vary depending on social status of the families, secondary genders involved and the level on which tradition is enforced but it also has few things that can't be skipped over. Courtship can last from 1 to 5 months, with courter and courted being often chaperoned (it's prevalent in aristocratic and wealthy families, common people are more lax with this). The pair will often exchange courting gifts and perform rituals that will bring the couple together . With courtship period ending , the pair will decide then if they want to go through betrothal and mate.
Courtship tokens :
Folded paper (Origami, zhezhi) - often is the first thing that a courter will gift even before formal courtship as a question ,,I feel something for you, do you feel the same?". If the reciever gives back a similliar paperfold back it is the sign that you can continue on with the affections. The paper used is heavily scented by the courter as a reminder and a keepsake. Popular shapes of the paper involve animals and flowers such as : mandarin ducks, swans , butterflies, doves, rose, lily, herons, Magnolias, Rabbits etc.
Combs - because of hair's smell-absorbing qualities, any hair related coutship gifts are always a good baseground and a popular choice. Combing one's hair is an intimate affair that only immediate family and a spouse will have priviledge to. Gifting a comb is a way to say ,, I wanna grow old with you"
Hair accesories - they vary from hairpins to guans, scented hair ties to hairclips, they are a flashy way to set claim on someone and a good test to whenever your tastes match with the courted.
Bracelet - omegas (especially high-ranking ones) wear wrist-covering bracelets for their scent glands. Single ones ofter wear simple styled bracelets, so gifting omega a lavish one may establish them as someone elses. It is a gift of utter seriousness of courted's feeling. Bracelets also can be given to beta's but it won't hold as serious meaning as omegas, but the beta will appreciate it nontheless ,who doesn't like jewelry amiright? If you are gifting bracelet to an alpha, remeber to keep it simple and slim, like a bangle :3
Collars - An official gift that has serious weight to it , equivalent to saying ,,proposal is just a matter of time" . Collar is a symbol of utter claiming that when gifted the omega will wear up until the end of courtship period and if they accept proposal- to the wedding date. Do not give the a collar if you are not completely serious about the matter. Presenting omega a collar and then not going throught with a proposal is a scandalous manner that rivals jilting!!
Nest supplies - a good, useful gift for an omega. Scented Pillows, blankets or plushies are good nesting companion , granted that they are made of easily washable materials. You litterally cannot go wrong with this gift. The softer the better!!
Food - A well meaning gift made from love. The courted will often make dishes by hand to show that they can provide and care for the courter. When dates are set in indoor places, food tends to be of less variety and being more filling , while date that take place in an outdoor space such as garden or a meadow ,then food tends to be more bite sized and varied for example dumplings, tarts, cakes, tea, sandwiches and fruitsticks.
Hankerchief - a scented hankierchief is often used gift by unmated omegas and female betas that alpha or male beta can always take out and take a whiff of. A classical gift of reciprocation of feelings.
Fans - usually depicting a piece of nature, poetry or historical events, fans are great gifts for summer heat. Fans are often made from wood and paper so it can also carry scent from the courter. A fan is a representation of person's personality so make sure that it matches the person recieving it!
Scent Perfume: A long distance gift suitable for any dynamics. To get them you need to go to a professional shop specializing in perfume making. The attendants will then carefully evaluate your scent and will best try to recreate it. They are a long lasting and easily portable.
Important ritual in courtship
Scent marking - a proccess when the pair exchange scents. It always starts small and with each month of courting the scent marking level goes further. In the beginning its only sniffing each others wrist, then evolves into rubbing eachothers wrists together, then it turns into intimate touches such as hugs or handholding and finally scenting eachothers neck. ( Note: in suburban and urban areas this step often is less regulated and strict. This high level of propriety and privacy remains often in high social clasess).
Proposing
Exchanging a bite on the wrist scent gland is often an action that cements betrothal. The mark is not permament and will fade after around 4 months. A bite on the wrist shows other people that you are taken and unavailable.

veiled fate
Sun set, sun fell, Idris and Edom proposed a truce. The ever-lascivious King Asmodeus had folded, more than willing to open a new trade road between the kingdoms for the eldest Lightwoodâs hand in marriage.
So now, Alec simply awaited his fate, watching impassively as servants and tailors fluttered around him like ants and bees, making sure he turned up to be the perfect bride.
A willing sacrifice.
His siblings tried to reject the proposal at first- anyone in their sane mind would, Asmodeus wasnât known as a kind lover. All six of his wives had died painfully, some during childbirth, or the dangerous politic of the harem, or the kingâs sadistic play. He took and took and took, until spring blooms cried to desserts, and he left to conquer another land.
Alec had no illusion he wasnât the next victim. Better him than Izzy, that was.
âYou canât do this.â Came Jaceâs whisper. âPlease, thereâs still time, run away, donât let this marriage ruin your life.â
Alec was glad he was hiding behind the wedding veil, separating him from the desperate, sad expressions his brother must have on his face. âThereâs no other choice.â Their kingdom needed this allegiance, and King Asmodeus wanted a new plaything. âItâs my duty, and I suggest you respect my choice, Jace.â
There was no other protest after that, just sounds of Jace pushing over everyone when he stormed out. He wouldnât be far for long, he was in charge of leading Alecâs carriage to Edom.
The journey was tedious, exhausting even. Alec felt layers upon layers of silk and brocade weighing him down. The two kingdoms had spared no expense for this wedding to happen, especially with the wedding veil. While Edom gave away their precious lace, Idris tailors spent days and nights stitching pearls and crystals to every mile of the fabric.
An excessive cage, trapping Alec to his doom.
In the carriage. In Edom. In the ceremonial hall. Alec bowed and made the vow before the gods with his new husband, his heart growing colder by the second.
When servants had sat him down in the private chamber, Alec was numb from it all. Here he was, waiting for his brute of a husband to swoop in and take him, hands clenching in his lap.
The door creaked.
Alec's husband had come.
Tick. Tick. The water clock rolled. Alec heard footsteps coming closer.
Then there were hands lifting Alecâs veil while he remained quiet, his gaze fixed on the ground, one hand reaching into his sleeve, twisting the gold bangle. It was a gift from Izzy, and it cheered with the final chance to prove its usefulness.
Alec uncapped a secret hidden underneath the bracelet and felt a hefty weight on his hand, sharp and dangerous. He struck when the king got closer, lunging forward with his dagger, fighting with every last breath. Unfortunately, the king did the same, and in the end, victory didnât smile upon Alec.
His back hit the bed below hard, anger and dejection seeping through his veins.
âKill me if you want.â He spat out. âBut as long as I live, I would never submit to you.â
âOh darling, whyâd I kill my bride?â The king smiled, his green golden eyes flickered in the dim light of candles, and Alec was annoyed the portrait sent to him hadnât done this man justice. He was younger, and more approachable, though still carried similar striking features in the painting.
Alec breathed heavily, confusion rolled off in his throat. Asmodeus seemed more willing to play with his victim than he thought.
âTshâ Look at me forgetting my manner.â Magnus leaned down, one hand pinning Alecâs hands above his head while the other used the princeâs dagger to slice off buttons on his fancy attire. Alec whimpered, feeling the coldness danced against his skin. Soon enough, the once lavish robe turned to ribbons, hanging desperately on Alecâs body. âThereâs been a change in management, Iâm Magnus Bane, and your new husband.â
Taking advantage of Alecâs stunned silence, Magnus took a step further, throwing Alec's legs over his shoulder. Alec moaned out loud, the first of a long night.
âMy kingâI, ah.â
âYouâre so good for me, my darling consort. Say my name, say it.â
âMâMagnus, Magnus.â

masterlist
Javier wakes you with his head between your legs and a white hot orgasm. He sneaks you out before sunrise to drive you home, car parked one minute down the road of course. You were on such a high you could hardly sleep, you had to teach summer school in only a few hours so when the day dragged on you struggled to keep up. You instructed the middle schoolers on the Protestant reformation, boring yourself along the way.
Daydreaming of Javier Peña while the kids took a mock exam. You sat in those seats daydreaming of him when you were their age too, it sends your head on a crushing spin when you think too hard about it.
You want to call Delilah after last night, she was so removed from your life at home. The temptation of confiding her bites at you all the way home. What trouble would it cause just telling her? Sheâs not even from here?
Upon arrival you notice Mr. Warden's car was absent from the drive. Pulling your hair in a ponytail, bangles jangling, you enter your family home. Your mom is dressed up, a flowing dress pale yellow and hair teased. Your brows raise as you set your purse down. Wanting to just run to the phone behind her and call up Javi. Ask him how grating it was to spend the day under the sun in Mrs. Gloriaâs garden, wanting to hear every detail.Â
The likelihood of your mom leaving the house is pretty high so you ask, âWhere you heading mami?âÂ
Tucking your hand under your top and unclipping your bra in the kitchen, she hates when you do that but your breasts were small and you hated the tightness of bras. She wipes her hand on her dress, âHaving a mommy-son day with Frankie. Gonna drive to the mall and then have dinner.â
Shocker, you think. You used to be bothered by the obvious display of favoritism with your mom but you expect it. You dont think shes ever taken you alone⊠anywhere, just for the sake of being together. Sure she took you to the dentist and whatnot but she never just asked if you wanted to do something together. She always liked your brother more and it hurt but you were done seeking love from her. You protect your peace. âOh okay cool. Whereâs Sol and your husband?âÂ
She walks past you, reaching down to grab her purse from the island stool. âThey're visiting his mother in Corpus Christi, they're staying over for a few nights. Iâm going to meet with them tomorrow, just to destress before the wedding. Iâve bitten all of my nails off!â She sticks her hands towards you and your eyes widen at the sight. Man she really did.Â
The wedding was stressing her out for sure, she was more irritable than usual and always on the house phone yelling at someone. It was going to be a modest wedding, modest decorations and entertainment with a not so modest in the guest count. She invited the entirety of Laredo and the 1980 graduating class. She also skipped the renting route for the tables and chairs. She bought them all in hopes that you could use them when you betroth.Â
âIs there anything you would want me to do? To make this, I donât know, easier?â
She gave a pensive stare, like she was cataloging all of the very complicated tasks in her head. Then she nods, âAh, yes. Saturday the print shop will have all of the guest table markers ready. If you can pick them up and fold them. Thereâs ⊠a lot.â She moves around the island and grabs her purse. You move past her to grab whatever beverage you can from the fridge. âAlso, James hooked up a phone line in your room before he left, just told him to get on and do it since your grandmother called.â
You stop in your tracks, your heart stopping in your chest.Â
Blood running cold, âWhat?âÂ
Your mother sits at the couch, putting on her heels. âYour fathers mother called-â
Your father, Lucas. The man who only existed in stories and dreams. Your grandmother, his mother? âMami, what are you saying? What did you say? What did she say?â You storm into the living room angrily. Your mom looks at you in disbelief, shocked at how hard you stomped into the room.Â
âWhat?! She asked if you could visit her in Baton Rogue, I obviously told her you werenât interested-â
âWhy would you say that?!â You raise your voice, your cheeks heating in anger. How selfish could your mother be? Why do you never get a choice.Â
She scoffs, tightening the strap to her heel. âOh please donât tell me youâre still holding out some hope for that family?â
You blink rapidly, your chest heaving. Hope? Youâve never been given a sign of life from that part of your life, nothing at all. Just the stories from your mother. Just the knowledge that to some extent he wanted you.Â
âThatâs for me to decide mami! Iâm 22, Iâm done being left out of my own life.â You seethe, youâre beyond enraged. You had just been a sweet high from morning head and a decent day at work. Happy at the chance of being home alone. And itâs the searing thought of your father thatâs sucking the life out of you.Â
Your mother laughs and stands up straight. âYou can be angry at me but iâm protecting you from the truth. Her numbers in the phone book, if youâd like to be disappointed, be my guest!â She snaps, shoving her purse strap over her shoulder and moving past your frozen pale body. Paled in anger, blushed with an ache. âWhen you find out heâs just a piece of shit who chose drugs over his daughter donât come crying.â She bites, with a finger in your face before she walks up the front door.Â
Still frozen, tears threatening to fall and a sob caught in your throat. Before she leaves she snaps one last remark, âAnd you need to start looking for your own place, your welcome is overstayed.â
And she slams the door shut.
Winded you crouch onto the rugged floor and cry into your knees. Youâve been told your entire life that there wasnât anyone left to speak to on your fathers side. The way your mom brought up the call, like it was nothing. You canât help but wonder what other news sheâs received over the years.Â
The worst part is you almost understand her, you knew she was in love with your dad and you can tell she never really got over that betrayal, that shock of finding out he was using the whole time and using the money for your life for his addiction.Â
You take the palm of your hand and wipe down your face, dragging your tears to your neck, standing up straight and walk to the phone book.
Breathe still skipping from a crying recovery, you swipe your wet hand on the counter and open the phone book to its most recent page.Â
In cursive,
Lorena ? Andreas grandma
You grab the book and head up to your room.Â
Time to put the new phone to use.
You dialed without contemplation, if you thought too hard youâd never call. Just call, call and find out whatâs being hidden from you.
It was answered on the 3rd ring.Â
âHello?â A small voice comes from the line, a voice with an accent. A voice of a woman late in her years. If you closed your eyes maybe you could picture her.Â
âHello, itâs Andrea⊠your granddaughter.â
It felt so foreign on your tongue, you had been no oneâs granddaughter before. Beyond the line you hear some shuffling.
âOh! You saved my number, I called your mother but sheâs still very upset.â
You sigh, âYes she is. You told her youâd like me to visit you? Is everything alright?â
She laughs, âEverything is alright. I just never had your information until recently, I canât travel because Iâm alone and wheelchair bound.â
You frown at the thought of the lady living on her own with no one to care for her.Â
âOhâokay. Iâm not sure I would have a way to get there. Iâm a school teacher here inÂ
Laredo. I donât have my own vehicle and-â
âItâs okay, If you ever find yourself in Louisiana I would love to give you my address. I would love to introduce you to your family.â
You intake a sharp breath at the last sentence. Why does it now feel wrong to want this when all your life youâve reached out for it? Why does the sound of meeting your family sound so wrong?Â
âIs my father okay?â You blurted before she could tell you the address. Itâs the one thing you truly cared about, the one thing that haunted you was the possibility of being too late, of him being gone in more ways than one.Â
Your grandma stayed silent behind the crackling of the phone, your heart raced each passing second. Beats closer together with each one. âThereâs things that rather be told in person. Please consider visiting, my address is 4289 Coventry Court.â
And the line goes dead.Â
You repeat a call of her name, pressing the phone harder into your ear but she hung up before you could say goodbye.Â
Javier dreamt in a 3 day span. He lived all 3 days, two nights. He dreamt of the drive and checking in. He was on his god forsaken work trip but you were at his side and so the 3 days were a breeze and the best of his life.Â
He woke up with your open mouth on his shoulder, snoring small kitten snores. Your hair tossed all over your face and a tiny hand gripped at his waist. He wakes you with a kiss to your forehead and he guesses you dreamt of something less pure because you immediately ripped off your top and climbed on his chest kissing him hard. Your wet core on his belly.Â
Javier made sure he gave you an orgasm before helping you out of his window. Going down on your just awake body.
Breakfast for champs.Â
He skipped out on the pancakes Chucho made and headed to work with his dad. The smell of your sweet perfume still on him.Â
He caught himself bringing the collar of his shirt to his nose when his dad wasnât looking. He makes a note to ask you to wear it again.Â
His dad was skeptical of Javierâs good mood. Constantly shooting him a glance at his typically grumpy son. Shaking his head in a laugh when he compliments Ms. Gloriaâs awful orange dress.Â
Chucho rarely went to work on peopleâs land any more. That was old news, he tended his land and sold whatever produce people wanted. But Ms. Gloria had recently lost her husband and when he saw her overgrown garden he offered some help. She had complained about not having seen Javier since he left so long ago, she had shrieked ranting about how much of a man he was now.Â
He had been hearing that a lot recently, that he was a man now. And he was, he hadnât noticed how accelerated his aging was, already bill stressed at 18 unlike his classmates test stressed or even his girlfriend who was lecture stressed. A teenager with a badge, snuck into bars to drink away the day's stress with 40 year old colleagues. And now a 6 figure salary and a one way ticket to the cartel heartland just at the precipice of age 24.
Yet he still felt stunted. Itâs funny how that works, how playing grown up can only work for so long. He had settled down with a broken relationship for years and honestly, truly, that was the most familiar grown up thing heâs ever done. Stayed with someone for the sake of finances, very grown up of him.Â
He didn't know what it was like to be the boyfriend of anyone but Lorraine. Most men his age had probably 4 long term girlfriends at this point, he had one and a few years of fucking whoever in high school. He didnât know how to be a boyfriend for you.Â
Boyfriend?
He was getting ahead of himself, he was your⊠he didnât want to think too hard about it actually because the idea stressed him out.Â
He asked you to be his and it felt pivotal and important and itâs what he wanted. More than anything else ever actually, to have you. He couldnât even believe you when you crumbled at the thought of Lorraine coming home. He had cared for Lorraine, deeply, but he hadnât truly been with her for five years. And there is nothing he wanted more than you, he wanted to drag himself to hell for making you cry.Â
But still there is this slicing feeling you always had been his since the beginning, in the same way he was yours too. A wanting so deep he couldnât fathom getting here, so he ran as far as he could.Â
That, there, that hurts his chest. The thought that he wasted time, that he kept you close in his heart without giving you a choice to be a part of his life. And what fucked him up even more is the people around him noticing.
 Noticing his self inflicted torture.Â
They had noticed. More specifically, Javierâs father.Â
Javier is an idiot a lot of the time. He was an excellent researcher, sweet talker and agent, but boy was he awful when it came to keeping you his secret.Â
What triggered Javier to mention your mother while he was knee deep in dirt, he doesnât know. Javierâs father glanced up at him, still squinting from the sun despite his ranching hat.Â
Maybe he misses you already.Â
âMaybeâ, who was he kidding? He misses you so much and itâs only been 4 hours. He wishes he was still in bed with you.Â
âYou know-you donât have to answer thisâŠâ Javier began, wiping sweat from his brow with the back of his glove. Chucho looked at him more skeptically now that he was speaking in English, which he never did when it was just them alone.Â
âIâll answer, what is it?â
Javier shook his head and continued to work, âDid you ever-have you-did you date Ms. Diaz?â
He can knock sweet talker off the list of things heâs good at.Â
Javier cringes in his head, sure he was close to his father, he knew about his previous romances after his mom left but there was a period where Javier hadnât a clue about his fathers personal life, the period directly after his mother left. Chucho chuckles and shakes his head and mutters something along the lines of Itâs Mrs. Warden now.Â
âI did.âÂ
Javier is aghast. Astounded even, a perfect mix of shock and horror.
It was all an inside joke but he hadnât actually thought that- âThe month after Flaca left, we very briefly dated. The next summer you were best friends with her kids, it was torturous for me. I wasn't over her but itâs passed.â
Javier wants to laugh at how familiar this was.Â
How Andrea had been so ingrained his life that seeing her again after radio silence was torture.Â
Javier does laugh, shaking his head. âNo mames,â He couldnât help but feel like his dad was messing with him, trying to trigger some sort of reaction. Because Melissa?Â
âEn serio! It was a lonely time when your mom left, I wanted something for myself for a little bit.â
Javier weeds with a smile on his face. In the least offensive way possible, your mom was insufferable. Yes your mother was beautiful but from what Javier had seen, she was judgmental, rude and out of touch. She was a staunch christian yet surely did not love thy neighbor. She would tell you to your face youâve gained weight and call you handsome in the same breath. Sheâll kiss the cheek of a woman and call her a harlot behind her back.Â
Javier wondered where you found your sweetness from.
Maybe you never received that softness and kindness from your mother, maybe it gave you no choice but to be the softest, kindest, sweetest little thing heâs ever known.Â
And Chucho.Â
Javierâs dad was older than your mom, and too nice for his own good. Shit, he stayed with Javierâs mother until she up and left. He stayed for the sake of keeping a two parent home until he couldnât any more. Javier admired his dad for that and despite it not working in the end, Javier knew his dad sacrificed his happiness to give Javi some sort of normalcy.
Javier took that from his father, if thereâs a kid involved, he was going to try with the mother until he physically couldn't anymore.Â
Are you on birth control?
âWhy Melissa?â Javier cuts wherever his brain threatens to take him. And Chucho cackles, removing his hat to fan himself, laughing as if Javier asked the funniest question there is.Â
âWhy Andrea?â
Javier shoots his dad a glance, one of confusion (he isnât confused but he has a game to play).Â
Javier doesnât let it get the best of him, he had been teased about the girl for nearly ten years. Itâs just a badly timed joke from his dad, he couldnât know. Right?
Javier knew how to play it cool, heâs a fucking DEA agent for crying out loud.Â
But the sound of your name just fucks him over every time. And he can fucking smell you on him.Â
Javier disapproves and hacking his sickle into the dirt, a small piece flying on his shirt. âFunny because you know itâs not like that between Andrea and I.â Hack âAnd she is nothing like her mother.â
Javierâs father mirrors that same disapproval.Â
âYou packed your bags and went back to Houston the second you saw her picture 4 months ago.â Chucho answers with a hint of teasing in his voice. Javier doesnât appreciate the way it made his heart pound. Had he made it all so obvious and he hadn't had a clue. âAnd you may be right about her being nothing like her mother but she is beautiful like her.â
âPrettier.â Javier mumbles, earning another glance from Chucho who quit slamming down the sickle minutes ago. Sweeter, kinder, better all around.Â
Javier was blowing it, just a little bit. He sees his dads eyes, he sees them slanted like heâs puzzling the pieces. Like heâs got the two of you all figured out.Â
But itâs more than that, âYou broke that girl's heart 6 years ago.â Stern, he was stern with the way he laid out the truth. It catches Javier off guard and he blocks the sun from his eyes to make sure his dad wasnât messing with him.Â
But he was dead serious.Â
âOkay?âÂ
He hadnât anything else to respond.Â
âOkay?â He mocks, âOkay? Are you aware of what that does to a girl like Andrea?â
Javier sighs, getting up from his knees in a grunt. Not wanting to be reminded of this again, especially not from someone that wasnât you. âDonât you dare walk away from me Javier Peña.â Chucho raises his voice and Javier stops dead in his tracks. He canât remember the last time his father showed any ounce of disdain towards him. Frankly heâs dumbfounded. Chucho gets to his feet as well, staring down at his son. His son who had already selfishly claimed Andrea as his knowing he would be leaving again. âListen to me, Andrea is a good girl, and I ainât saying you arenât good but I am saying that this timing isnât good. You understand?â
Javier's chest collapses in on itself, a pain that he sees no ease. Itâs like every day he isnât with you, heâs reminded why it should stay that way. That he shouldnât do this. Javierâs nostrils flare, a pang of bashfulness and hurt swirling low in his stomach.Â
Feeling accused of something so true. He mumbles, he lies, âWeâre not even together.âÂ
Chucho frowns, âGood. I love the two of you too much to watch you hurt each other againâyou ran from it and I lost you for 6 years.âÂ
âI wasnât running from her, I was starting a career-â
âYou never came home.â
âYou visited me once a month, you never lost me. And I did come home.â
âOnce, and you left when you saw a picture of the girl.â
âIâm home now! And I didnât fucking leave because of a picture, itâs not like that for me!â
âYouâre lying, you know you feel the same way. Regardless sheâs here and youâre leaving again! For good.â
Javier drops his gaze to the dirt below them, his breath quickening. âThat isnât my fault, I took this deal before I saw her, before the fucking picture.â
âVer! la foto!â He caught you, âYou forget I know you better than anyone else, youâre running again. I donât want to argue, I'm just asking for you to be a man and end this.Â
End it unless youâre staying for good.â
Javierâs eyes drop, his blood running cold.Â
He was done with this. He was done with people telling him what to do, first your brother and now Chucho. Maybe itâs that selfishness but Javier mutters, âThere is nothing to end.â and walks out of the garden.Â
At 9 pm Javier calls. Youâre in bed already, grading history quizzes with a rare smile, the kids are actually doing better. They had all failed their history final just 3 weeks ago. You feel content with yourself, you feel content with the distraction.Â
You called a car rental service and was approached with the ridiculous prices of a rental. Youâre a teacher for crying out loud, you donât have money for an excursion to meet a family member youâve never met. You spent the rest of the afternoon playing scenarios out in your head, what will you do if he actually is dead? What if hes fine?Â
What if heâs clean, what if he never wanted to look for you but what if heâs been searching this whole time?
The thoughts burned after 6 pm when your to-do list caught your eye, and so did the stack of papers on your desk. So the show must go on, you can deal with the existential crisis later, you've got work.Â
But Javier calls when you're halfway grading Jorge Villaâs quiz, he was doing amazing, with the pen between your lips you grab the new pink phone. âHello?âÂ
âAndrea,â He exhaled. Your lips quirk into a small smile, the memories of the morning clouding your brain. He was breathless beyond the phone, like had just finished running a lap. Your smile stayed but your brows pulled together nonetheless.Â
âJavi, are you okay? You sound out of breath.â The chewed up pen cap swirls against your teeth. He is silent behind the phone for a few seconds.
âOhâ sorry, I was about to smoke but decided to call you.â
You straighten up, the curly cord barely straining. You note to thank James for the extra long phone cord. âOh okay, is everything okay?â Hes calling you from his bedroom phone, you could hear the difference. The phone in the kitchen had better sound quality, this one always sounded crackled and far, but it settled some weird nostalgia in your belly. This was the phone heâd always pick up from so many years ago.Â
âI donât know, I think I got into an argument with my dad.â
âWhat?â You blink, it comes out more dramatic than intended but the sentence just didn't seem right. An argument? With Chucho? âSorryâwhat happened, are you okay, do you want me to come over?â
You want to slap yourself. Do you want me to come over, what has gotten into me?
 âIt was about you.â
âWhat do you mean?â Iâm so confused right now. Then it all hit you at once, âOh my god Javi! Was I too loud last night? Oh my goodness this morning I didnt even think about it, he was probably awake. Javier Iâm so sorry-â
His laugh cuts you off from your nervous rambling, âNo, no, jesus. I don't know? We started talking about your mom, they used to sleep together by the way.â
âWhat!?â You gasp, your hand slapping over your mouth, his sweet deep laugh crackles through the phone. You want to swoon over it, his laugh, him, that all of this happening right now but youre so floored by the conversation you can't even appreciate it.Â
âDoesn't matter, he⊠I don't know what he was saying was true and yesterday you were very honest with me about Lorraine and all that. He just said that I broke your heart once and Andrea, I don't want to do that again Iâm so sorry.â
Your chest swells, a feeling so deep and guttural. Something big heals in you with that, with everything that has happened this week. His voice through his bedroom telephone, his whisper, his kiss and all that comes with him. It was years of an ache pushed to the side and replaced with work and shitty boyfriends and all other things. You decided a bit ago not to persecute him for the decision he made at 17, that would just be too cruel.
âJavi, I forgive you.â You mean it.Â
âBut Iâm going to leave you again⊠in November.â
Lashes wet with tears you shake your head, âI know, Iâll be prepared this time. Let's please stop talking about this and enjoy what we have now.â
You're both silent for a moment, your brain is so foggy again. But this was a different silence, before silence with Javier made your mind run in circles about all the things you could do wrong and all your insecurities, this silence was good.Â
âI smelt like you all day.â He finally says.
Your face breaks into a wide smile, âOh really?â
âYeah. Was just half hard the whole day thinking about you.â
âBeyako.â
âYou were the one who left a little wet spot on my shirt this morning.â
You gasp a dramatic one, you had woken up so hot and beat red. You hadn't thought about how wet you must've been the whole night when you straddled his chest bare bodied. You kissed him sloppy and rushed before he flipped you on your back to go down on you.Â
âYou have no shame do you?â
He scoffs a sassy one, a classic Javier mannerism. He was always so grumpy towards everyone, sometimes you wondered if he practiced an unbothered yet grumpy face before walking out of his house. Heâs going to do so well in Colombia. Your agent.Â
âYouâre right, could I come over? Iâve missed you all day.â
Your head spins but reality sets in. Your mom would be home at any minute.
âMy moms coming home soon but sheâs going to be away all weekend. I was thinking tomorrow you could stay over here.â
He laughs, and you understand how all this sounds. You sounded like teenagers sneaking around, like having sex was number one on the list of taboo acts. Like the two of you arenât adults with careers.Â
âOkay Andrea no need to beg, iâll be there.â
âShut the fuck up.â You exhale a laugh. Itâs so easy to forget like this, when itâs just Javier and you. You canât begin to imagine a day of uninterrupted interaction. Your brain almost slips in a fantasy of leaving to New Orleans with him.Â
âBut-today? How was your day, everything okay with work? Any middle schoolers in need of being scared straight or what?â
You shake your head, forgetting he canât see you, idiot.Â
âOne of them called me a cunt today.â
âWhat the fuck? Whatâs their name?â
âIâm kidding.â
Javier is silent and then exhales. âFunny.â
âMy students are very well behaved and nice to me actuallyâwell nice enough for kids in summer school. I was grading exams., theyâre doing really wellâ
âYouâve always been so smart, used to intimidate the fuck out of me.â He whispers that second half and youâre throbbing already.Â
You bite your lip and your cheeks turn bright pink. Why is it that small praises like that make you so hot and flustered?
âIntimidate?â You ask but your voice betrays you. Horny over the phone, this feels illegal.Â
The sound of him shifting in bed only lights that white hot flame in the pit of your stomach. He groans a cute little old man one. He acted like such an old man at 23, but it made him all the more endearing. You picture him settling against his headboard, a hand behind his head. God you wished to be in his lap right now. âMmm. Yeah, whenever youâd get into it with me, iâd be like who the fuck is this little girl? You were so shy but so smart, I know you apparently were crushing on me hard but you surely knew how to put me in my place.â You could hear the reflective nature of his voice.Â
You think back to homecoming, how you had felt so fucking torn about telling him off but somehow content with how you handled yourself. Imagining walking the halls with him after telling him straight up that your love life wasnât his business. You had felt so strong and mighty even though you ached for him to care about who you were with. In a twisted schoolgirl way you wanted all of the protectiveness and jealousy. But to him you hated it all, and you feared he might never like you for being so straight up.Â
But he found you smart. And god why does that make you so turned on.Â
You hum at the thought, âLittle girl? All of you guys always act like I was much younger.â
âBy the time I was a freshman I had been much more corrupt than you had been. Same with Lorraine, your brother and Genie.â
You sigh, âI guess but it does suck to think that you saw me that way.âÂ
Considering I was absolutely desperate to be under you back then, just like I am right now.Â
The bed springs snap through the phone, he lets out a deep exhale. You hate to be so direct but god was all the noises he made sexy. âI saw you that way before we were in school together. By the time you were 16 and I was 17 I wanted to fuck you so bad I could barely stay in a room with you.â
âJavi!â You gasp. The full validity of his words donât settle because youâre already following up. This is your dream. âAre you serious?â You whisper yell like someone can hear you.Â
âYeah? I thought you knew, I tried it at that quinceañera.âÂ
âThat was a one time heat of the moment thing?!â
He chuckles, âNo it wasnât, you think I hadnât thought about it before?â
âNo! You were dating Lorraine.âÂ
âProm night? When I walked into your room while you were hitting yourself with a magazine, you looked so pretty I had to splash myself with cold water when I left the room.â
The scene runs through your cerebrum. Him crowding your bed, his hips leveling with your beat red face. The first time he called you querida.Â
âOh wow.â
âProm night, when I watched you play lacrosse. You really thought I hadnât liked you too?â
Your eyes narrow, âYou. Had. A. Girlfriend!âÂ
âI guess.âÂ
âYouâre bad.âÂ
Youâre so flustered right now you could barely deal. Legs crossed tight. Desperate to just be with him right now. Pulsing below, why does this turn you on so much? Are you okay? Maybe youâre a sick romantic, the confirmation of him liking you back sends the hottest stomach pitting throb youâve ever felt.Â
And you guess Javier can sense it, âWhat are you wearing?â
As if you couldnât get redder. You look down, you wished it was sexier. âIâm in shorts, silk sleep shorts and a tank top.â Itâs how you normally slept.Â
You could hear a deep inhale from the line.Â
âYou got a new phone? In your room?â
âYes, James installed it.â
âSo youâre in bed?â
Your breath falters, âI am.â
Heâs silent for a moment but then he continues, âPut your hand in your pants.â
You donât even think twice before your lithe fingers are slipping between your wet folds. You suck in a breath, your cheeks hot along with the tips of your ears. âMhm.â You moan.Â
âHow wet are you baby?â And you can hear the stupid fucking smirk in his tone. Youâre so turned on you canât even think to snap at him for torturing you.Â
âIâm really wet Javi-please.âÂ
And he goes silent. Like heâs deciding on what to make you do next, and youâre at his mercy 6 blocks away, at his mercy on the telephone.Â
âGo to bed, I'll take care of it tomorrow.â
Your jaw drops, and you search the room for hidden prank cameras. Candid cam style.Â
âJavi!?â But he hangs up.
Your eyes widen. What a depraved little image this was. Your lips parted in shock, with a phone between your shoulder and ear with your hand in your shorts.Â
Hot and bothered, you kick the exams off the foot of your bed.Â
Tomorrow.Â
He was going to payÂ
