We have a new Feysand baby to meet 💝

“Hi Baby,” she murmured. With a shaky hand, she brushed against the dark skin of the tiny tiny head. “Hi.”

Feyre didn’t even blink when she felt Rhys’s arms encircle her—encircle them both—and his head find her neck. She didn’t blink, but she leaned back against him and nestled closer.

“I believe,” he said slowly, “that I have fallen in love.” He placed a kiss on her neck. “Again. Fourth time of my life.”

She huffed, and nodded. “I know the feeling.”

I can’t express what a journey it’s been to write this thing. It all started with a few words typed on my phone during a bath one day because I couldn’t get a scene out of my head (hello ch. 18 lol), and turned into so many words, so many side fics, so many bookmarks and comments and kudos ❤️

“Nyxie,” Feyre sighed tiredly. “You know it’s not certain it’s gonna be a she, right? Maybe we’re having a little brother.”

“No,” he shook his head. “I’m sure it’s a sister.”

On the other end of the room, Rhys was nodding almost imperceptibly. But of course, she saw him. She rolled her eyes.

“He’s got an excellent point though,” Lyra agreed as she popped a berry in her mouth. “Are you set on names?”

“They’re not saying,” Nesta informed her.

“They’re boring,” Mor corrected with an eye roll.

A few tears silently rolled down Feyre’s cheeks but she couldn’t tear her gaze away from Nyx.

“Protect her, please.”

Nyx splayed a cold, hesitant hand on her stomach and she fought against a shiver.

“She’s the best Mommy in the world.”

Feysand wedding, anyone?

Feyre smiled. Nodded slowly. She knew what he was referring to.

“I’m marrying an Illyrian, am I not?”

Slowly, Rhys shook his head. His eyes, too, were bright with tears and happiness and tenderness.

“You’re marrying a fool in love,” he murmured.

He leaned in, swallowing her small chuckling breath by brushing his lips against hers in a small, tender, featherlight kiss. They heard someone clearing their throats behind them and a few laughs, but they didn’t care.

“I love your Mommy very much,” he whispered. “You know that?” He paused, giving the top of her head another few quick kisses. The door to the room was opening as he continued, “Your dad’s—meh,” he shrugged. “But your Mommy’s the absolute best.”

“And your eyes, of course,” she murmured. “I won’t take anything other than your eyes.”

Rhys huffed a small laugh into her hair.

“What,” he said, “you’d disown them if they had yours?”

She giggled a little, bringing his arms tighter around her waist to be completely enveloped. “You gave Nyx your eyes,” she said instead. “You’ll have to give them to any other potential baby, too.”

“I love your eyes,” he countered, placing a kiss on the top of her head. “I want to see a mini you.”

“How was your day?” “Good,” she nodded, slowly, though he couldn’t see it. “I painted a lot, today. You?” “I missed you a lot, today.”

He bounced her up and down very gently against him as he continued, lips grazing the top of her head, “You’re alright, baby. You’re good.”

It didn’t exactly take long for Nora to calm down. Rhys didn’t stop bouncing her, rocking her. It was only after a few minutes that he turned toward Feyre, leaning his cheek against their daughter’s head, and locked eyes with her.

“See?” he whispered. “Maybe we should stay like this forever.”

Feyre huffed, rolling her eyes at him.

“What?” he murmured at the expression on her face.

“You’re such a mother hen,” she accused—half yawning in the process.

“Anyways,” he said softly. “I believe we were talking about you, ma’am.”

Feyre huffed. “Yeah. Well, way to go for making me feel like shit for complaining about my problems when—”

“Don’t,” he shook his head, dead serious. “We all have our shit to deal with. There’s no competition here. And believe me, if there was, I think you’d be winning it anyway.”
