The Rise of Play to Earn Reality Games
Traditional gaming has always been about entertainment, but now players can also monetize their skills. Play to earn reality games introduce economic incentives, allowing gamers to earn cryptocurrency or NFTs (non-fungible tokens) through gameplay. These games create digital ecosystems where every action—whether completing quests, trading items, or battling opponents—holds real-world value.
Metaspace, a leading name in metaverse reality games, offers innovative experiences where players can interact in a shared, persistent virtual universe. These games merge augmented reality (AR) and blockchain technology, creating a gaming environment that is both immersive and financially rewarding.
RPG Games Online: A New Dimension of Adventure
The role-playing game (RPG) genre has always been a fan favorite, allowing players to step into different characters and explore fantasy worlds. Now, free online RPG games are integrating Web3 technology, offering decentralized gaming where players have full ownership of in-game assets.
With the introduction of metaverse 3D games, RPGs have evolved into vast open-world experiences. Players can engage in epic battles, forge alliances, and even earn virtual currency while completing missions. This shift allows gamers to have a more interactive and rewarding experience, making online RPGs more engaging than ever before.
Web 3 Play to Earn Games: The Future of Digital Gaming
The transition from traditional gaming to Web3 is transforming how games operate. Unlike conventional models where developers control all in-game assets, Web 3 play to earn games and empower players by giving them true ownership. This means that weapons, characters, and other collectibles exist as NFTs that can be traded or sold in digital marketplaces.
Metaspace is at the forefront of this gaming revolution, offering high-quality metaverse reality games that combine action, strategy, and real-world value. Whether you prefer action-packed RPGs or interactive multiplayer games, Web3 ensures that every moment you spend in the game is both thrilling and profitable.
Conclusion
The gaming industry is undergoing a major transformation, with play to earn reality games leading the way. As technology advances, gamers can expect more immersive experiences in free online RPG games and interactive metaverse 3D games. With platforms like Metaspace pushing the boundaries, the future of gaming looks more exciting and rewarding than ever before. Are you ready to explore the metaverse and turn your gaming skills into earnings? Now is the time to step into the world of Web3 gaming!

† charming forks †
Tumblr media
"In Kkangpae, respect is earned in blood—even if it's just from a fork to the palm. But it's the hurricane brewing in Jeon's eyes as he watches you handle yourself that has you wondering if maybe there's more than one way to catch an assassin's attention."

WAIT WHAT?! IS IT POSSIBLE?!
JEON HAS...
*whispers dramatically* F E E L I N G S?!
Did our resident ice prince really look at someone with something other than his patented "I'd rather be literally anywhere else including possibly on fire" expression?!
Okay, in all seriousness—stop coming for my boy. I can FEEL some of you judging him through the screen. He has feelings! They're just... buried... under several layers of trauma, bad decisions, and leather jackets. You'll understand him better eventually, I promise. Maybe. If I'm feeling generous. Which I rarely am ( ̄︶ ̄)
Here's the thing: I make my characters complicated on purpose. Humans are messy little disaster creatures, and I want my characters to reflect that beautiful chaotic energy. Everyone's actions are based on the personalities and backstories I've created—some of which you have NO idea about yet. *laughs maniacally* Every character has nuances, and I really hope I'm portraying that properly. Watch me stress about character development at 3 AM while chain-drinking tea because coffee stopped working six chapters ago.
ANYWAY! AD HAS ENTERED THE CHAT. The chaotic technology gremlin of my heart! And Sope's dynamic? *chef's kiss* Two cranky old men pretending they don't care about each other while absolutely caring about each other? BEAUTIFUL. MWAH.
I know it's hard to picture everything now because you're just getting the tiniest glimpse of all these relationships. But trust me, there's an intricate web of backstory that you'll discover eventually. Have fun grasping at straws in the meantime because I'm not making it easy for you! Where's the fun if you know everything THIS SOON?!
THERE IS NONE!!!
So hang tight, be patient, and maybe save those curse words for later chapters. Trust me, you're gonna need them. I have PLANS. *ominous music plays*
Love you all, you disaster enablers. Stay hydrated!

⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾ ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☁︎
Your crutches click-clack against the stone floors of the castle, and it's weird how normal this feels—hobbling through what used to be some fancy abandoned castle and is now home to South Korea's deadliest gang. Nobody even looks twice at you. Then again, in a place where missing fingers are basically fashion statements, a sprained ankle's hardly worth noticing.
The infirmary door swings shut behind you, cutting off the sharp smell of antiseptic and the muffled sounds of people who definitely had worse mornings than you. The hallway feels almost peaceful in comparison. Almost.
The elevator dings, and suddenly you're face to face with what looks like pure rage wrapped in a hoodie. He storms out like the elevator personally offended him, all baggy clothes and barely contained fury. The track pants and oversized hoodie stand out here—most gang members dress to intimidate, but this guy looks ready for a gaming marathon.
You freeze, crutches awkward under your arms, as he practically radiates "don't talk to me" energy into the hallway. Something about him seems familiar, though you've definitely never met. He brushes past you, and the scent of fresh lemons hits your nose—which is when it clicks.
AD. The genius behind Cyber Intelligence. The guy who designed the security system that keeps rival gangs from turning this place into Swiss cheese. His reputation around here is... interesting. Brilliant but brutal, the kind of person who'd hack your phone just because you breathed too loud near his workspace.
You shuffle into the elevator, trying not to drop your crutches or your dignity. Your card beeps against the scanner, and you hit the button for the fourth floor—home sweet home, or at least as sweet as a gang's seduction division can be.
The doors start closing, giving you one last glimpse of AD's retreating back. The whole encounter probably lasted thirty seconds, but it sticks in your mind. You've heard stories about him—how he practically lives in his division's "gamer cave," how he's as loyal to Kkangpae as he is allergic to basic human interaction.
The elevator hums around you, and you can't help wondering what pushed his buttons today. Guy looked ready to set something on fire with his mind. Though maybe that's just his face. Hard to tell with the Council of 9 sometimes—they've all got enough trauma to keep a therapy practice in business for decades.
When the doors open to your floor, the familiar buzz of the Seduction Division wraps around you like a blanket. Back to your world of honey traps and carefully crafted lies. Still, you can't quite shake the image of AD's fury from your mind.
Guess that's life in Kkangpae—even a simple trip to the infirmary can turn into an encounter with one of the gang's most notorious leaders.
The Seduction Division's floor buzzes with its usual afternoon energy as you hobble through on your crutches. Half your colleagues are sprawled across the common area sofas, deep in mission talk, while others practice their best "come hither" looks in the wall-length mirrors. Just another Tuesday in the art of professional manipulation.
Kazuha doesn't even look up from her iPad as you pass, that wine-red hair falling in perfect waves around her face. She gives you a quick nod though—which, coming from her, might as well be a bear hug. The girl's got that whole "ice queen who could definitely ruin your life but chooses not to" vibe down to an art.
Your shared room feels like heaven after all the hopping around on crutches. Yunjin's exactly where you expected—spread out on her bed like a pink-haired starfish, head hanging off the foot end while she watches what looks like another one of those melodramas she's obsessed with. The contrast between her bubblegum hair and the pastel yellow bedding is probably giving interior designers somewhere an aneurysm.
She brightens up when she spots you, hitting pause mid-dramatic confession scene. "How was medical training?" She twists around to face you, and you can tell she's dying for some good gossip. "Did J-Hope make you practice on oranges?"
"Nah, straight to fake skin." You drop onto your bed, grateful to finally get off your feet. "Though he did spend like twenty minutes ranting about how everyone in this gang stitches like they're drunk toddlers with safety scissors."
The memory makes you laugh. For someone who literally saves lives for a living, J-Hope's got the bedside manner of a grumpy cat. Though you guess when you're dealing with gang members who think they're immortal, maybe being nice stopped working a long time ago.
"Oh!" You perk up, remembering the best part of your morning. "You'll never guess who showed up while I was there."
Yunjin's eyes go wide with interest. She's always been a sucker for castle drama.
"Jeon." You try to keep your voice casual, like you're not still thinking about how he looked without his shirt on. t̶o̶r̶s̶o̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶g̶o̶d̶s̶
Yunjin bolts upright so fast her pink hair whips around her face. "No way. Jeon? What happened?"
"Medical checkup." You grin at how invested she already looks. "You should've seen how much he didn't want to be there."
You can still picture it perfectly—the way he filled the doorway like some dark cloud of attitude, all black clothes and that stupid leather jacket. Even his quick scan of the room felt dismissive, like everything beneath his notice was personally offending him.
"But here's the weird part." You lean in closer, lowering your voice like you're sharing state secrets. "You know how he's usually all... you know, Jeon? Like someone carved him from ice?"
Yunjin nods eagerly.
"Complete different person around J-Hope. I mean, still grumpy as hell, but like... almost human? It was like watching a statue learn to bend."
"Jeon?" Yunjin's eyes go wide. "Are we talking about the same person? Mr. I-Take-Orders-From-Nobody?"
"Oh, it gets better." You can't help the laugh that bubbles up. "He brought J-Hope a croissant."
"A croi—wait." Yunjin sits up straighter. "Oh my god, that explains this morning!"
You raise an eyebrow. "What about this morning?"
"Okay, so you know how he's basically married to that coffee machine, right?"
"First cup of the day, every day," you confirm. Everyone knows that—it's like some weird ritual. The sun rises, birds sing, and Jeon appears to claim the first coffee like it's his divine right.
"Well." Yunjin's practically vibrating with excitement now. "Me and Kazuha were having breakfast, and there he was, just... lurking by the pastries. Like, full-on stalking them. We started betting on what he'd pick because honestly? What else do you do when one of the gang leaders is having an existential crisis over baked goods?"
You frown, something not quite adding up. "Wait, he told J-Hope it was the last pastry left."
"Bullshit." Yunjin flops onto her back, pink hair spreading across her pillow like cotton candy. "It wasn't even 7 AM. The breakfast spread was packed—Kazuha and I had front row seats to his whole pastry-hunting performance."
She stares at the ceiling for a moment, like she's replaying the scene in her head. "Actually... now that I think about it, he was really focused on the croissants. Like, weirdly focused. Standing there analyzing them like they held the secrets of the universe or something."
You both fall quiet, trying to make sense of Mr. Ice Prince going on a dawn croissant mission. It's such a small thing, but it feels... significant somehow. Like finding out your scary math teacher collects Hello Kitty merchandise.
"Well, worked out for me." You shrug, trying to sound casual as you show her the pastry bag. "J-Hope doesn't even like croissants, so."
The look Yunjin gives you could only be described as suspicious.
“Okay but like... isn't that weird to you?" She sits up straighter, getting that expression she always has when she's about to drop some tea. "Jeon's on the Council of 9. He works with J-Hope all the time. How does he not know what the guy likes?"
"What do you mean?"
She leans forward, eyes sparkling like she's solved a murder mystery.
“Think about it. Our fearless Chief of Tactical Assassinations spent ten whole minutes picking out the perfect croissant for someone who hates croissants." Her grin gets wider. "But you know who's always having croissants for breakfast?"
The implication hits you like a truck. No way. There's absolutely no way Jeon would... t̶h̶a̶t̶'̶s̶ ̶k̶i̶n̶d̶a̶ ̶s̶w̶e̶e̶t̶ ̶a̶c̶t̶u̶a̶l̶l̶y̶
"You're reading way too much into this." You try to sound dismissive, but your voice comes out weird. "He probably just grabbed whatever was there."
"Uh-huh." Yunjin's not buying it. "That's why he spent longer choosing a croissant than most people spend picking engagement rings."
You throw a pillow at her face. She's being ridiculous.
Just because Jeon accidentally got you breakfast doesn't mean... anything. He's still the same guy who used you as paintball bait yesterday.
Even if he did pick out a really good croissant.
The weight of Yunjin's words hangs in the air. The idea that Jeon—Mr. Perfect-Planning-Everything—might have deliberately chosen that croissant... it makes something weird flutter in your stomach.
No. Absolutely not.
"As if." You roll your eyes so hard they might get stuck. "How would he even know what I like for breakfast?"
Yunjin just gives you that look—the one that says she knows something you don't want to admit. "You're both always in the cafeteria at dawn, right? Haven't you noticed? He gets his coffee right when you're picking out your croissant."
You pause. She's... not wrong. Your early morning schedule does line up with his weird first-coffee-of-the-day ritual more often than not. But the thought of Jeon actually paying attention to your breakfast preferences? t̶h̶a̶t̶'̶s̶ ̶k̶i̶n̶d̶a̶ ̶c̶u̶t̶e̶ That's ridiculous.
"But why would he suddenly bring me breakfast?" The question comes out smaller than intended. "He doesn't even like me."
"Maybe he doesn't dislike you as much as you think." Yunjin's voice goes soft, thoughtful. "He's still human, you know? Under all that ice. Maybe he actually felt bad about your ankle."
Her logic makes an annoying amount of sense. But accepting that Jeon might have done something... nice? That he might have been paying enough attention to know what you like? That feels like admitting something you're not ready to face.
Could Jeon really have...?
No. t̶h̶e̶r̶e̶'̶s̶ ̶n̶o̶ ̶w̶a̶y̶ ̶h̶e̶'̶s̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶s̶w̶e̶e̶t̶ There has to be another explanation. The idea of him noticing your habits, remembering your preferences, actually feeling guilty enough to do something about it—it doesn't fit with the cold, distant chief you know.
Except... maybe it does. And that's even more unsettling than the alternative.
"You need to stop watching those dramas. They're rotting your brain."
"Fine, don't believe me." Yunjin pouts, folding her arms like a scolded kid. "But when has anything in this place ever been simple?" There's this knowing look in her eyes that makes you want to throw another pillow at her, but she mercifully drops the subject.
The pastry bag crinkles as you grab it, desperate for any distraction from t̶h̶o̶u̶g̶h̶t̶s̶ ̶a̶b̶o̶u̶t̶ ̶J̶e̶o̶n̶ this whole situation. The croissant looks perfect—because of course it does, this is Jeon you’re talking about.
Except for that small bite you already gave it back in the infirmary.
You break it in half, offering part to Yunjin like a peace offering.
One bite and—oh.
Oh.
"This is really good," you manage between bites, trying not to sound too impressed.
Because you hadn’t really had time to savor it, appreciate the taste. But now you do, and holy shit. You've had your fair share of castle croissants—there's a reason you drag yourself out of bed at ungodly hours to get them—but this? This is something else entirely.
Stupid Jeon and his stupid perfectionism. Everyone complains about how anal he is about everything, but apparently that extends to pastry selection too.
That's just annoying.
"God, I could eat like five of these," Yunjin mumbles around her mouthful, and you hum in agreement.
You both enjoy the quiet for a moment, just appreciating good pastry and each other's company. Then Yunjin sits up straighter, switching into work mode. "Hey, while you're here—mind helping me with something on my iPad? I'm stuck on this one part."
You scoot closer as she pulls up files full of charts and data. This is the real meat of gang work—not the glamorous missions or dramatic showdowns, but hours of planning and strategizing. You and Yunjin fall into an easy rhythm, bouncing ideas off each other and finding solutions.
It's nice, actually. Just you and your friend, doing what you do best, making plans that could mean life or death for someone someday.
You know, normal people stuff.
Tumblr media
Lunchtime at the castle is its own brand of chaos.
The cafeteria buzzes with life—metal trays clanking, conversations overlapping, and the smell of whatever's cooking today making your stomach growl.
It's kind of wild how this massive, well-lit space becomes neutral ground where gang divisions actually mix.
Even if it's just to argue over the last pudding cup.
Yunjin, being the angel she is, grabs a tray for you since you're still stuck with these stupid crutches. You point out what you want—some spicy stir-fried pork that smells like heaven, a mountain of steamed rice, and enough kimchi to make your breath lethal. The kind of comfort food that reminds you of simpler times, before your life involved paintball ambushes and medical training. Yunjin goes for her usual rabbit food—some fancy salad and seaweed soup.
Finding a table is surprisingly easy. There's this unwritten rule about leaving some spots open for people who need the extra space—like, say, someone who got their ankle twisted during a certain chief's brilliant bait plan. So you snag a spot near the food counter, perfect for people-watching.
The cafeteria has this weird energy to it, like a tide of people flowing in and out. Some grabbing quick bites between missions, others lingering over coffee and gossip. It's probably the most normal part of living in a gang headquarters.
"Look who's eating alone again." Yunjin's voice drops as she stabs at her salad, and you don't even need to look up to know who she means.
"Does he ever eat with anyone?" You can't help asking, because seriously, what's with Jeon and his lone wolf act?
"Sometimes." Yunjin talks around a mouthful of greens. "His division members join him occasionally. Especially Takama."
"Who's Takama?" You mix some kimchi into your rice, trying to sound casual.
"His second in command." She covers her mouth as she chews, ever polite even in a gang cafeteria. "You know, deputy officer of Tactical Assassinations."
You can't help but smirk at the way Yunjin's eyes light up. Your roommate might be shy around strangers, but get her talking about castle gossip and she transforms into a one-woman intelligence agency. Her weird talent for reading people makes her better at gathering intel than half the Seduction Division.
"Okay, tea time." She sets down her fork and turns to face you fully, going into full gossip mode. "So Jeon's basically a lone wolf in the cafeteria. Only exceptions are Takama—his second in command—or sometimes J-Hope."
You take another bite of your food, settling in for what promises to be an interesting breakdown of castle dynamics.
"And get this—J-Hope hardly ever eats here. Man's practically married to his office. But when he does show up?" She leans in closer, lowering her voice. "It's either with Jeon or AD. Those two are like his pet projects or something."
"AD and Jeon?" The combination sounds about as likely as V starting a knitting club. "Wouldn't have called that one."
"Oh no, you'll never catch them together." Yunjin waves her fork for emphasis. "There's this weird... thing between them. Nobody knows why, but the tension's so thick you could cut it with a knife. Still working on figuring that one out."
She drops her voice even lower, like she's sharing state secrets. "AD's basically a cryptid though. Lives in his gamer cave like some kind of tech hermit. But word is, if you hang around the snack bar at 3 AM..."
You snort at her dramatic delivery. "Very spooky."
"And get this—he's apparently even grumpier than J-Hope. But somehow they just... click?"
"Grumpier than Dr. Cranky?" You raise an eyebrow. "That's actually impressive."
"Right? Like, next-level antisocial. But I guess their matching bad attitudes cancel each other out or something. They're both fluent in asshole."
"Well, you'd know." You gesture at her with your chopsticks. "You're the people-reading expert here."
"I mean, I haven't seen everything firsthand." Yunjin shrugs, picking at her salad. "But J-Hope's probably the one Jeon tolerates the most. Now V, on the other hand..."
"Yeah, no need to finish that sentence." You snort. "Those two are about as friendly as cats and dogs."
"Right? They hate each other's guts. Though V's weird because he gets along with everyone else—or at least pretends to. Hard to tell with him, honestly." She pauses, eyebrows shooting up as she glances across the cafeteria. "But he seems weirdly obsessed with JM lately."
"JM?" You follow her gaze. "The finance guy?"
"See the guy in the fluffy cardigan over there?" She tilts her head subtly. "That's him. Usually sits with Chaewon and Jessi. He's like, genuinely nice to everyone, which is probably why he puts up with V's... everything."
"Christ, he must have the patience of a saint."
"Right?" Yunjin snickers. "Meanwhile V's like this social chameleon—just plops down wherever he feels like. No fixed spot, just vibing with whoever catches his attention that day."
"What about Chaewon?" You ask, genuinely curious about your division chief. "You mentioned she sits with Jessi?"
"Yeah, see that woman with the red hair next to her? That's Jessi. They're basically joined at the hip, which makes sense." Yunjin lowers her voice. "Only women on the Council of 9, you know? Gotta stick together in this boys' club."
"Must be rough up there." You watch the two women, something tight forming in your chest. "Especially for Chaewon, considering how she feels about men. Makes you wonder what they went through to get those positions."
"Yeah..." Yunjin's voice goes soft. "Gang leaders don't really talk about their past lives. All I know is Chaewon came from another gang. Might explain some things..." She trails off, watching your division chief for a moment before shaking her head. "But that feels like the kind of story you don't ask about, you know?"
"True." You push around some pork with your fork. "What about RM and Moon though? Never seen them down here."
"Oh god, you won't." Yunjin waves her hand dismissively. "Those two are like urban legends in the cafeteria. Pretty sure they're permanently glued to their office chairs, buried in paperwork."
You're about to ask more when something in the air changes. You feel it before you see it, like a wintery breeze sweeping through the room, chilling and unmistakable. Conversations stutter and restart, heads turning just enough to look casual.
When you follow everyone's not-so-subtle glances, you spot him immediately.
AD, the human thundercloud from this morning, has decided to grace the cafeteria with his presence.
His hoodie's pulled low over blonde hair, and everything about his walk screams 'touch me and die.' He moves like someone who's one minor inconvenience away from committing cyber crimes.
He heads straight for the food counter, completely ignoring the line of people waiting their turn. His eyes scan the options like they've personally offended him. You can hear the quiet grumbling from the queue, but nobody seems brave enough to actually say anything.
Well, almost nobody.
"Hey man, line starts back there." Some new guy who clearly hasn't learned the castle's pecking order yet pipes up.
AD turns his head so slowly it's almost cinematic. The look he gives this poor idiot could probably crash every computer in South Korea.
"Shut the fuck up unless you want your keycard to mysteriously stop working." His voice is barely above a whisper but carries enough venom to kill a small army.
The new guy practically shrinks into himself, mouth snapping shut like a trap. Everyone else in line suddenly finds the floor tiles absolutely fascinating. You get it—when the guy who controls every digital aspect of your life threatens to lock you out of the castle, you shut up and take it.
AD turns back to the food counter like nothing happened, loading his tray with... well, everything. It's like watching someone who hasn't eaten in days try to make up for lost meals all at once. Spicy Korean chicken, Caesar salad, pepperoni pizza, and a bowl of ramen that definitely wasn't meant to be a side dish. The combination is as chaotic as his reputation.
When he turns to survey the cafeteria, his eyes briefly meet yours. The air around you drops several degrees, like someone opened a window to a winter morning. Even under that hood, his gaze is sharp enough to cut glass.
He chooses a table not far from yours, dropping into the chair with a sigh that sounds like it started somewhere around his soul. The curious looks from other members bounce right off him as he attacks his food with the same intensity most people reserve for coding or murder.
Then J-Hope walks in.
The medical chief spots AD immediately, and his eye-roll is probably visible from space. With a huff that screams "not this shit again," he marches over to AD's table like a man on a mission.
"Oh, this'll be good." Yunjin leans in, practically vibrating with excitement.
You watch as J-Hope plants himself at AD's table, hands on hips, radiating disapproval. Whatever he's saying gets completely ignored—AD just keeps eating like J-Hope isn't even there. But instead of giving up, J-Hope drops into the chair across from him, apparently settling in for the long haul.
It's kind of fascinating, actually. J-Hope's clearly telling AD off about something, probably his hermit lifestyle, while AD responds in what looks like grunts and eye-rolls. But the weird thing is... he's letting J-Hope stay. For someone who just threatened to digitally exile a guy for speaking to him, that's practically a declaration of friendship.
"They're like a divorced couple who still lives together," Yunjin whispers, barely containing her grin.
You snort into your rice. "Yeah, if both of them were the grumpy one."
It's hard not to stare at AD. There's something fascinating about watching someone who practically lives in code actually interact with humans. The guy who could probably crash South Korea's entire infrastructure with his phone is sitting here eating pizza with salad.
He's weird for a Council member. The others, like Jeon or V, you can picture them leading divisions. But AD? He feels more like some urban legend the gang created—the grumpy gremlin in the tech cave who might lock you out of your room if you breathe too loud near his servers.
You try not to be too obvious about watching him, but it's kind of mesmerizing. Even now, with J-Hope clearly giving him hell about something, AD maintains this icy distance. Like he's tolerating human interaction because someone forced him to remember he needs food to live.
The cafeteria noise provides perfect cover as you and Yunjin lean in slightly, totally not eavesdropping on what might be the grumpiest conversation in Kkangpae history.
"For someone who's supposed to be a genius, you eat like a fucking teenager with a death wish." J-Hope's voice carries that special blend of medical concern wrapped in pure irritation.
AD doesn't even look up from his food crime scene, just keeps shoveling spicy chicken into his mouth with the enthusiasm of someone who hasn't seen sunlight in days.
"I'm not kidding, AD. Your last medical results were shit." J-Hope leans back, crossing his arms. "Or did you delete that memory along with your basic survival instincts?"
AD finally looks up, his expression screaming 'I'd rather be getting a root canal than having this conversation.' "Can you not? I can handle my own fucking health."
"Yeah, clearly." J-Hope's voice drips sarcasm. "Because staying up for three days straight surviving on energy drinks and spite is peak healthcare. What's your plan when it catches up to you? Hack yourself a new liver?"
A ghost of amusement flickers across AD's face before he squashes it. "Maybe I will. And while I'm at it, I'll program myself some immunity to your bullshit."
"You're impossible." J-Hope rolls his eyes. "Just eat something green occasionally! I'm tired of playing doctor because you think vegetables are optional."
AD stabs a piece of lettuce with enough force to kill it twice, moving with exaggerated slowness. "There. Happy?"
J-Hope gives a narrowed stare, his gaze softening ever so slightly. "No. Eat another one."
"You're so fucking annoying." AD turns away like if he can't see J-Hope, maybe he'll cease to exist.
You and Yunjin share a look, biting back smiles as you watch AD and J-Hope's weird version of friendship play out.
It's kind of sweet, in a grumpy-meets-grumpier way.
Even in Kkangpae, where everyone's got walls built up to their eyeballs, sometimes you catch glimpses of actual human connection. Even if it's just two cranky leaders arguing about salad.
But the peaceful moment doesn’t last long.
Harmony shatters when a group from V's division walks in. The atmosphere shifts immediately—you can feel it in the way conversations quiet down, in how other members subtly shift away. V's assassins always move like they own the place, all swagger and deadly grace.
Your stomach drops when one of them breaks away from the pack, heading straight for your table. He's tall, probably handsome if you could get past the douchebag energy radiating off him.
He plants his hands on your table, leaning into your space like he's got every right to be there.
"Hey princess, heard about your ankle..." His voice drips fake sympathy before sliding into something that makes your skin crawl. He leans closer, close enough that you can smell whatever cheap cologne he's drowning in. "When you recover, how about some private lessons? I bet you could teach me all about seduction..."
The suggestion hangs in the air like something rotten.
Your mind floods with comebacks—each one sharper than the last, each one perfectly crafted to cut him down to size.
But you keep quiet.
Not because you're scared. Not because you don't have anything to say. But because you know how this game works.
In Kkangpae, everything's about power. One wrong move, one moment of weakness, and suddenly you're marked.
And being a woman in this testosterone-fueled nightmare means always watching your step, always calculating the cost of each word.
Your silence apparently pisses him off more than any insult could. His face twists ugly, that fake charm vanishing like smoke. "I'm talking to you, bitch."
You catch Yunjin starting to rise, all protective big sister energy, but you grab her arm. This isn't her fight. Besides, you've dealt with worse than some bruised ego in a leather jacket.
The cafeteria's gone weirdly quiet. You can feel eyes on you from every direction—AD pausing mid-bite, J-Hope's exasperation shifting to concern, V watching like this is better than cable. Even Jeon's stopped pretending to eat his lunch, those dark eyes fixed on the scene playing out.
You finally look at the guy, really look at him, keeping your face blank.
“And I'm not interested."
The words hit him like a slap. His face goes red, then purple, and suddenly his hand twitches.
The whole cafeteria seems to hold its breath.
You catch flickers of movement—Chaewon half-rising from her seat, JM's eyes going wide, Jessi's hand twitching toward what's probably a knife.
But it's Jeon's reaction that catches your attention. He hasn't moved, hasn't said a word, but the look he's giving this guy is like a typhoon gaining speed. The kind of stare that promises violence, calculated and cold and absolutely certain.
Not that you need the backup.
The moment his hand comes down, you move.
The fork in your hand becomes a weapon, and you catch his wrist mid-swing, driving the tines deep into his palm. The movement is smooth, precise—exactly what they taught you in training. Always use what's available, turn everyday objects into advantages.
He screams (more shock than pain probably), stumbling back like you've burned him. His eyes are huge, that macho confidence evaporating as blood wells up around the fork still stuck in his hand.
Everyone goes dead silent.
Like their brains are recalculating, adjusting their mental image of the new girl who just stabbed someone with cutlery.
t̶h̶a̶t̶'̶l̶l̶ ̶t̶e̶a̶c̶h̶ ̶h̶i̶m̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶c̶a̶l̶l̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶b̶i̶t̶c̶h̶
"Maybe think twice about who you're messing with next time."
He yanks his hand back with a string of curses, blood dripping onto the pristine cafeteria floor. His face twists ugly, like he can't decide if he's more hurt or pissed.
"Who the fuck do you think you are?"
You lean back in your chair, channeling every ounce of b̶i̶t̶c̶h̶ confidence you've got. The fork might have been impulsive, but now it's time to play smart.
"Someone who has Chaewon's ear." You let that sink in for a second. "And you know who Chaewon's best friends with? Jessi. You know, the one who handles personnel management?" Your smile feels sharp enough to cut. "Wonder what they'd think about some guy from Assassinations harassing their girls."
The color drains from his face so fast it's almost funny.
Nothing like dropping two of the scariest names in Kkangpae to make a man rethink his life choices. You can practically see him doing the math in his head—is harassing the new girl worth potentially pissing off not one, but two Council members?
"You wouldn't—" His voice wavers between threat and panic.
"Try me." You cut him off clean. "This isn't even about me. You really think they'd let this slide? Their division members getting pushed around by some wannabe tough guy?"
His jaw clenches so hard you're surprised his teeth don't crack. The rage is still there, but now it's got a healthy dose of fear mixed in. Good. Maybe next time he'll think before running his mouth.
"Fucking bitch," he spits, but the words don't have much bite anymore.
You glance pointedly at the bloody fork still sticking out of his hand.
"Get me a new fork while you're at it. You got blood all over this one."
The cafeteria's still dead silent, everyone probably wondering if they just witnessed career suicide by cutlery. But hey—sometimes you've got to stab a man with a fork to make a point.
He shoots you one last glare before stalking off, still cursing under his breath.
You watch him go, noticing how the other assassins suddenly find their lunch absolutely fascinating.
Funny how quickly tough guys back down when someone actually stands up to them.
Conversations resume, though noticeably quieter than before. You can feel the weight of everyone's stares finally lifting—some impressed, others probably wondering if you've got a death wish.
Everyone's except Jeon's.
When you turn to meet his gaze, something's different. Those dark eyes catch yours across the cafeteria, and something electric passes between you. It's different from his usual dismissive glances. Like he's seeing you properly for the first time. Not just as the new girl from Seduction, or the one who twisted her ankle during his paintball game. But as someone who can hold her own.
His expression hasn't changed—he's still got that perfect poker face—but there's something in his eyes that wasn't there before.
Something that feels almost like respect.
His lips twitch, just barely, before he looks away.
But that tiny almost-smile says more than words could.
Maybe stabbing someone with a fork is all it takes to impress the mighty Chief of Tactical Assassinations.

did anyone ask for a SUPER LONG writeblr/wip intro?
my name is Ro, I'm 23 years old, and I currently work full-time as an optician while I juggle approximately a dozen projects. please please PLEASE tag me in your projects, tag games, whatever. I love to look at things :)
here's a handful of my current projects. let me know if anyone wants to be on a gen/specific tag list!
THE LAST LORINEAN
epic fantasy, draft 3.2
A marathon of a project, spawning from an absentminded idea in 2011. While the central cast has undergone some face-lifts over the years, the bones have remained somewhat unchanged. There's probably a million drafts of this out there, but we'll call my current one the third big effort to get the story written.
Found family, magical road-trip, and laying the foundations for an interconnected multi-series exploration of the universe in which it's set.
Those born on the Aronian continent do not dream, long-cursed by the Witch Queen of the previous age. The dream-weaving Lorineans, who once provided a reprieve from the curse to the Aronian people, conspired against the kingdom and earned their eradication at the hands of the now-immortal Emperor. The empire now lives in dreamless peace, a united force of human, elven, and faerie kingdoms.
In the rural south of the Empire, Lilliana Karington has been living a quiet life. Unbeknownst to her, a Lorinean has been hitching a ride on her soul for her entire life—a secret that will send her on the run. She is joined by a fugitive by the name of Sadene from the faerie kingdom of Kyrania who carries secrets of her own, secrets that could topple the Kyranian monarchy and pantheon both.
With Imperial soldiers and Sadene's twin brother on their heels, Lilli must learn to trust the Lorinean she is bound to if she is ever to find a way to return to her peaceful life. But as she learns more about the secrets her Empire hides, the harder it will be to find peace ever again.
THE DAUGHTER OF DENMARK
historical fantasy, draft 3
a.k.a. I played Hamlet seven years ago and now it's everyone's problem. A novelization/reimagining of Hamlet through the lens of gender, queerness, and what a religious conflict means when there is concrete memory of Denmark's pre-Christian heritage. However, please don't expect historical accuracy from this project. It's about vibes.
Court intrigue, love quadrangles, repressed trauma, tragedy… y'know, the Shakespeare of it all.
Hamlet has known what her life was meant to be from the very moment she was born. Named a Ragnarson to ensure her claim to the Danish throne, she has been sheparded by her kind-hearted father and traditional German mother towards the title and burden of King.
When a hunting accident brings Hamlet near death, she is sent to her mother's old university for safety, far from the politics of Denmark. The things she saw in the world between life and death haunt Hamlet between her studies and blossoming friendships.
All too soon, Hamlet is called back to Denmark, where a dark shadow has robbed her of all she once knew. Through madness and memory, she must spiral to the end of a story that was written long ago.
PROJECT: ATLANTIS
epic sci-fantasy, outlining
Inspired by a Google+ roleplay group the two of us were members of in 2014-2019, a friend and I have been building a world and narrative that stretches years of cowriting. We are slowly finding a way to adapt our work into novelizations. One day, we'll even come up with a title!
Political intrigue, vast worldbuilding, and a web of characters spanning one end of the world to the other. Featuring a conlang and neography!
After fifteen years of tenuous peace in Atlantis, the question of succession has risen again. Faolan Althaea is of age to take her family's throne, but the banished descendants of Faolan Agallai have retained their influences in the dark, and they are ready to make another bid for the throne. Althaea is thrust headfirst into the boiling conflict, and she must learn fast which faces to trust.
On the other side of a once dormant portal, Faolan Illyrius is paying the price for rescinding his claim to the coveted throne. The godless, ransacked world of Aegina—known as Earth to its inhabitants, the aeg'oroi—is hiding knowledge that could turn the tides of the Faolan and Agallai conflict, and he is the one who must get his hands dirty to find it.
The Agallai loyalists have not been dormant since orchestrating the death of Althaea's parents. They have gathered supporters of a new generation, preying on the aeg'oroi that regent Priar Arsina, ruling in Althaea's stead for the last fifteen years, is so determined to alienate. As the succession crisis comes to a head, loyalist agents vie for control over the portal connecting Atlantis to the aeg'oroi homeland.
Something dark lurks in the shadows of Entropy connecting these two worlds. The gods have fallen silent, and their people are divided. Will Atlantis stand, or will sickness devour it all?
ON THE PRECIPICE OF THE UNIVERSE
narrative sci-fi poetry, final draft
Return of the king… because I am going to be self-publishing her! I am starting a fresh round of edits and will be looking for some beta readers soon. Mostly need a vibe check on the amount/length of poems and general format. Then comes cover design (will be commissioning a college friend), page design, and figuring out how the hell I'm gonna do this!
Sentient spaceships, loneliness, and the great unknown.
When the last war broke out on Earth's surface, the spaceships launched. No one expected the fires to reach high enough to knock the entire fleet out of the sky—save one, a sole survivor drifting onwards to a new planet.
Years later, only one of the ship's passengers remains alive, going through the motions of the day without fail. The last human alive cleans the vents and weeds the hydroponic gardens. And, they write, chronicling the little life they have left to live.
OEDIPUS REGINA
tragedy, draft one
Apparently, I am allergic to writing a play about anything but the ancient Greeks. Yet another gender reimagining! This came at the request of some college friends who acted in The Kassandriad and have done some readings of my other Greek plays. Still debating if I will be swapping the masculine and feminine for the names.
Cycles of fate, inherited trauma, and the inherent eroticism of riddles.
Oedipus, princess of Corinth, is a young woman when she hears the prophecy that she kill her mother and bed her father. She flees the home she has always known and finds herself in Thebes, a city living in the shadow of a sphynx and the absence of their queen. The childless, widower king takes an interest in her; an interest that sets in motion a cacophony of disasters for the Theban throne.
EAT HER HEART OUT
drama, draft one
Guess what. It's a reimagining of a Greek myth. Who is surprised. This one is taking a look at the Homeric Hymn to Demeter—and yes, I am aware of how many Persephone retellings there are in the world. Leave me alone. What if I'm built different (I'm not).
Motherhood, dependence/independence, and unreliable narrators.
We visit three worlds: of the gods, where Demeter searches for her daughter and Persephone toils in the Underworld; of the mortals, where Demeter hides among a mortal family during her endless winter; and of the Muses, who tell the story à la true crime podcast. The lines intertwine and an old story is made new (again).

Hi Mera hope you had a wonderful day night!
I was wondering who you thought, out of the test boys, would be the most likely to try to steal you away from your partner? (Also can I be >_< Anon?)
Hi hiiii, >_< anon!!!! :D omg this is a fun question!!! I think these are the characters who would try to steal you from your partner:
✧ Riddle - if your partner is anyone from Octavinelle (i.e. the trio), Riddle is working overtime to find a way to get you out of there... T^T he will not have you succumb to the bad influences that are the Leech twins and Azul. Riddle has such strict criteria a person must meet in order for them to even be perceived by him as your partner, and no one's managed to earn his approval yet, thus your current partner is not worthy of being called your partner. Quite ironic how he's the only one who can fit into his own criteria. Perhaps he's just destined to be your boyfriend after all. :)
✧ Ace - it's for such a shallow reason, too. He just wants what he doesn't have. T_T especially if you're Deuce's partner. Ace just likes to be a menace, but in being a menace he unintentionally falls for you and now he's really determined to make you his.
✧ Trey - he does it so subtly!!!! You won't even know Trey's aiming to steal you from your partner when he packages leftover baked goods and sends them your way or when he texts you good morning/good night. He's just being friendly, but Trey knows the way to anyone's heart is through delicious food (his boy-next-door charm is just an added bonus). He's hard at work learning all of your gastronomic preferences so that he can effectively win your affections. That, and he's surprisingly discreet with his flirting (whether he intends to be or not).
✧ Cater - it really depends with Cater. He's so good at being a social butterfly, and he knows just how to pop in and snatch you away from your partner for fun photo ops. He just loves being around you, so much so that he may end up third-wheeling you and your partner. He invites himself into your life and before you realize it you're hanging out more and more with Cater than you are with your partner. But it's okay! You don't really need your partner anyway, do you? Not when you have Cay-Cay!
✧ Leona - he knows he's king in Savanaclaw, so it's absolutely mind-boggling to him that you'd settle for some herbivore at the bottom of the food chain. Leona doesn't even have to try very hard to steal you from your partner. He has such an enticing, confident energy about him. That, and no one's going to try to go against the Leona Kingscholar. You might as well start calling yourself (Name) Kingscholar now because your partner can never hope to compete with Leona. <3
✧ Ruggie - also another one that's situation-dependent. If Ruggie truly does like you, then he's willing to exert the energy to come up with a sly scheme to separate you and your partner. He's very good at it, too. Immensely sneaky. >:) you'll never even know he was the reason for the inevitable split.
✧ Azul - it's tako. Envy and greed are such a potent, destructive combination, and he wants you all to himself.
✧ Jade - he's willing to play the long game. Jade will make your partner wish they never even fell in love with you. He is so refined and ruthless in the way he goes about pursuing you while also pulling strings to slowly but surely integrate himself into your life. Your partner won't stand a chance.
✧ Floyd - he's quick with it. No mind games or elaborate cons needed. He'll beat your partner up and collect you in the aftermath.
✧ Jamil - he's doing everything behind the scenes, and it all comes together in a devastatingly neat package. Jamil keeps track of his lies, expertly weaving a web that ultimately leaves you ensnared and partner-less in the very end. You don't need to worry about details. Jamil will be vague and terse about it. :)
✧ Kalim - he does it unintentionally (or maybe he's fully aware of it). Kalim has so much love for you, so it hurts him when he sees how happy you are with your partner. :( he wants to be in that spot! He wants you to call him your boyfriend and he wants to be able to hold and kiss you and take you on dates. He lavishes you with extravagant gifts under the guise of friendship and constantly shows up to your dates. It's pure coincidence, but Kalim has a way of making you and your partner feel so suffocated because neither of you can ever get a word in with him. In the aftermath of your heartbreak, Kalim's there to pick up the pieces.
✧ Vil - ooooo Vil....... he has so much to say about your partner. So many critiques to give. He is the biggest hater when it comes to your relationship. It should be him you call your beloved, not that sorry spud who calls themself your partner. Vil knows his worth and that it’s pointless to compete when he will ultimately be the victor. He constantly checks up on your social media to see if that taken status ever changes, but it will in due time. Vil knows how to play this role flawlessly.
✧ Rook - it's Rook. If Rook doesn't drive your partner away because of how strange he is, then he will stalk you from the shadows until paranoia and dread nearly consume you and drive you into isolation. You'll spend less time with your partner because now you're too afraid to go out, lest you run into your stalker. Rook will come to collect you soon. He shan't make the love of his life wait any longer!
✧ Epel - maybe he's trying to prove that he can get a partner, or maybe he's just feeling competitive knowing that your partner has you and he doesn't. Epel knows he should be your partner, so he's determined to win you over, even if it means he has to act, Great Seven forbid, cute to achieve his goals.
✧ Malleus - it's likely unintentional. Perhaps a passing comment about how he's interested in you and suddenly all of Diasomnia is vowing to bring you and Malleus together. Whoever was dating you immediately breaks up with you when they find out Malleus is crushing on you. There are just some battles you shouldn't fight...
✧ Lilia - love is war, so Lilia might play a little unfairly when he finds himself enthralled. He can't help it for being so devilishly cute! Of course you'd fall for him and his adorable charms, too. Who wouldn't? He's old, so he has plenty of experience in the art of romantic warfare. He's determined.
✧ Neige - it is absolutely intentional and he's so obvious about it. >_< Neige is so obsessed with you!!!! He wants you all to himself, so could your partner do him a favor and break up with you so that Neige can have you instead? :D and no one could possibly say no to Neige! He's just so sweet and so famous and he could ruin your partner with his sheer influence alone. But he won't. <3 so long as he gets to have you hehe.
✧ Rollo - he disapproves of everyone you date. It doesn't matter if they're a decent person; he dislikes them regardless. Anyone who isn't him is undeserving of being your partner. Only Rollo can fill that space, and he fully intends to do so in his own little ways. You'll tell your partner that you're only joining the student council president for breakfast because you want to be friendly, but it's during these meetings where Rollo acts like his charming, cordial self. He reserves rare smiles for you and is genuinely upstanding and sweet. But only for you. And soon you'll fall for him. At least, that's what he hopes will happen. If not, he can resort to drastic measures. Anything for you.

A Game of Composure ,, Older Hange Zoë x Younger Fem!reader (4)
Tumblr media
The evening unraveled like silk, steady and sumptuous, but Hange’s mind was a flurry of static. They hadn’t taken their eyes off Y/N since the moment she entered the room, dressed like some velvet vision in black, drawing men to her like moth to a flame. And even now, after the subtle claim they made by sending the curious businessman away—Hange remained coiled tight beneath the measured veneer.
But Y/N didn’t make it easy.
She never did.
She remained by Hange’s side, yes, but she didn’t hang onto them like a trophy on her arm. She spoke to others when addressed, she smiled at compliments—though never too widely—and she tilted her head and nodded when someone shared a story, that perfectly bored expression feigned just enough to pass as polite. Her elegance wasn’t an affect; it was a natural consequence of her self-possession. It was why Hange couldn’t look away.
They stood together near a stretch of the hall where the chandeliers dimmed to a gentle amber. Soft music floated through the space, and the press of bodies in formalwear moved like a gentle tide, each cluster of conversation shifting rhythmically.
Erwin passed by at one point, giving Hange and Y/N a subtle nod and a ghost of a smile before disappearing again into his own web of connections.
“I’d ask if you’re enjoying yourself,” Hange murmured under their breath, breaking the silence between them, “but you’ve never struck me as the type to do anything so… mundane.”
Y/N didn’t look up at Hange who stared down at her with an intense gaze, instead watching the banquet hall over the rim of her wine glass. “And you’ve never struck me as the type to get possessive.”
Hange’s gaze narrowed. “I’m not possessive.”
She turned towards them, that same maddening calm on her face. “You sent away a man who asked to speak to me. That’s a strange way to spell ‘possessive.’”
Hange leaned against the marble counter lining the wall, arms crossing loosely. “He didn’t want to speak to you. He wanted to flatter you into pretending he was interesting.”
“And you think you’re the exception?” Y/N asked with a raised brow.
“I know I am.”
That earned them a small laugh from her—low and brief, but genuine.
“You’re bold tonight, Doctor.”
“I had a month to think.”
Y/N set her glass down with a quiet clink. Her voice softened just enough to be heard beneath the music. “So did I.”
They didn’t speak for a moment. Hange watched her profile—sharp, serene, achingly young and yet composed in a way most their age never learned to be.
Y/N’s expression gave nothing away, but her hands—slim fingers brushing over the rim of her glass—were too still, too measured.
"You know," Hange began, their voice lower now, "you play this game better than most seasoned politicians."
Y/N’s lips quirked. "I imagine that’s meant to be a compliment."
“It is. It just makes me wonder what you’re hiding under all that control."
She didn’t answer right away. Her gaze lifted to the massive chandelier above them, crystals refracting specks of light across her face like fragments of stained glass. When she finally spoke, her voice was composed but deliberate.
“I grew up around individuals who thought power was something to be taken. I learned early on that power isn’t seized—it’s given. And people give it to the ones who don’t ask for it. They give it to the quiet ones. The ones who never seem to need anything.” She started.
Her sharp piercing eyes turned to Hange, tilting her head to the side slightly. “But wanting, that’s a different thing.”
That made Hange pause.
The answer was unexpected. Not because it was eloquent—Y/N was always that—but because it rang with something they rarely heard from her: honesty.
A revelation wrapped in velvet. Hange hummed, observing her again, but this time differently. As if the mask had slipped, even for a moment.
“I see,” Hange said, their tone more serious now. “So you let people see what they want to see.”
“I let people think they see something,” she corrected.
“And what do you think I see?” Hange asked.
Y/N turned toward them, her sharp eyes calm but unreadable. “I think you want to see what’s underneath. I think you’re smart enough to know it’ll take time. And arrogant enough to think I’ll let you.”
For once, Hange didn’t have a clever response ready. The air between them felt charged, thick with something heavier than flirtation.
“And if I’m patient?” they asked eventually.
“Then you might just see what they don’t,” she countered. “But you’ll have to stop sending men away like some territorial animal.”
Hange chuckled, shoulders relaxing. "Noted."
Before anything else could be said, an unwelcomed voice cut in.
“Miss L/N.”
They turned to see Marie approaching.
Of course.
She looked pristine as ever—her emerald green gown tight across the bodice, her jewelry understated but expensive. Her smile was far too polite.
“I was surprised to see you again,” Marie said, eyes flitting briefly toward Hange before settling back on Y/N with a challenging look in her eyes.
Y/N’s expression remained cool, meeting Marie's gaze with equal intensity. “Yes, I was invited.”
Marie’s voice lowered slightly, just enough to come off as intimidating but loud enough for Hange to hear. “Well. I’m sure your… presence is always appreciated. Especially by the older crowd.”
A small hum vibrated against Y/N's red-stained lips, but didn’t rise to it. “It seems so. Though I’m sure you don’t have to rely on insinuation to be remembered.”
Marie blinked.
A faint smile tugged at Hange’s lips, but they said nothing. This was Y/N’s fight, and she wielded silence like a blade.
Marie continued, undeterred. “You know, some of us worked very hard to build our place here. Years of study, internships, research. Not everyone has the luxury of just… being interesting because they’re young.”
Hange’s jaw tightened. Y/N didn’t flinch.
“That’s true,” Y/N replied calmly. “But not everyone can make people listen without shouting. I suppose we all use what we have.”
There was a beat of silence. Marie’s smile tightened, but she gave a small nod before turning away, heels clicking with restrained fury.
Hange exhaled slowly. “That was brutal.”
“I was being polite,” Y/N said, picking up her glass again.
“You were being surgical.”
Y/N glanced at them. “You don’t like her.”
“She doesn’t like you.”
“I noticed.”
“And the age thing?” Hange asked.
“I expected that too.” She glanced up at them, her gaze sharp but curious. “Does it bother you?”
“Not in the way she hopes.”
Y/N smirked, bringing the wine glass to her already red-stained lips. “Good.”
They stood like that for a while, letting the sounds of the banquet drift around them.
“So,” Hange said at last, voice gentler now. “When this is over, would you let me take you somewhere quieter? Just the two of us. No flattery. No businessmen. No Marie.”
Y/N looked up at them, the smile on her lips slowly fading. “Ask me again when I’m not surrounded by men in thousand-dollar suits.”
Hange chuckled softly. “Got that.”
But the promise hung in the air. And neither of them planned to let it go.

More rambling about Wild Kratts Game Lore bc I can
On today's episode of "shit about the flash games that I am probably the only person alive to care to notice," let's look at a certain pattern in the tutorials that, whilst it may seem minor, may actually reflect something about the overall website (and if you have no clue what the f*ck I'm talking about, feel free to stay, it's so much funnier that way)
Ok so let's look at the first wave of flash games made by Chocolate Liberation Font (the dev-team behind them). In the tutorials of these games, (i.e. Cheetah Racer, Ride on Remora, Caracal Leap, Draco Glide, Kickboxing Kangaroo, ect), one of the Kratt Brothers would introduce the animal and objective before activating their Creature Powers. When they do so, we see a close-up of their shirt (oddly enough without the suit or gloves??), and we see the buttons on the Creature Power Suit with the Creature Disc insignia in the same color as the suit itself.
Some image examples as Exhibit A.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You get the picture.
Now let's move on to the games that were added to the website in 2012 by Pixelpusher; Flower Flier, (R.I.P.) Croc Hatch, Frogfish Feast, Aardvark Town, and Web-tastic!; The Wild Kratts Creature Math Suite that collectively made up a quintilogy game, Creature Roundup. These games features new animals and new Creature Powers, 3/5 of which were featured in Season 2 of Wild Kratts which had recently premiered on PBS Kids at the time. Like before, the Kratt Brothers introduce the creature, the objective and Activate Creature Powers. However, here is one difference;
When the screen zooms in on the Creature Power Suit post-activation, we can see the physical Creature Power Disc itself over where the PowerSuit button/creature insignia would be. Regardless of the disc's color, it would show up. As shown below in Exhibit B.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Quite the difference eh?
But wait, it gets even more fun.
In 2013, two games, Dolphin Dive, and Slither Run, also done by Pixelpusher, are released. They're not affiliated with the Math Suite, but are in the same league as them. In the tutorials where the brothers activate their Creature Power Suits, you realize that, just like in the games developed by Chocolate Liberation Font, the close-ups of the buttons don't have any overlays of the disc (using Slither Run here because Dolphin Dive wasn't a good enough example)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Put a pin in this, because this becomes relevant later.
Let's redirect ourselves to the habitats. You probably remember exploring the habitats, finding and learning about different animals, unlocking photos, and adventuring with the Creature Powers earned from the games. The site was updated to include some new habitats and Creature Powers, but let's exactly look into the details of that, shall we?
Tumblr media
Here are the available Creature Powers to use in the habitats to unlock the photos for your adventure journal in the character creator page, Your Room. Rattlesnake Power, Draco Lizard Power, Cheetah Power, Kangaroo Power, Caracal Power, Squirrel Power, Firefly Power, Dolphin Power, and Remora Power.
Now, you may notice that the Creature Power Suits from the Math Suites (Hummingbird Power, Crocodile Power, Frogfish Power, Aardvark Power, and Spider Power) are missing here. In fact, they're not in any way able to use in the habitats. They (along with Dolphin Power and Rattlesnake Power) are also absent amonst the assortment of Creature Powers to use in the supergame, Habitat Rescue Game.
This is where I pull stuff out of my ass cause I'm fcking crazy everything comes together.
Notice how the only Creature Powers that aren't available to use in the habitats are Creature Powers that the brothers use in the games where the physical discs are displayed on the buttons. The only ones available to play are ones where the button is visible when the brothers activate that particular Creature Power.
Conversely, none of the Creature Power Suits from games developed by Chocolate Liberation Font have PowerSuit photos that the user can take with a camera once they complete Level 5. Only the games added by Pixelpusher (this includes the Math Suite, Dolphin Dive, and Slither Run) are, and 5/7 of those games are where the physical disc is placed over the button. Slither Run and Dolphin Dive are anomalies from this pattern, but the majority rules (especially since they were added in post after the Math Suite).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But wait. It gets even deeper.
You know how I said in the assortment of games where the physical discs are present in the tutorials, Dolphin Dive, and Slither Run are anomalies in terms of games that had unlockable photos in levels? You know what pattern they aren't anomalies of?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah, the Habitat Rescue Game at the beginning of this post wasn't just bc the game is fucking peak (based on a show that's fucking peak). None of the 7 Creature Powers from Pixelpusher's update to the website appear in the supergame Habitat Rescue. Not a single. One. And none of the Creature Powers available in Habitat Rescue are from games where you can unlock a photo in the site from directly finishing Level 5.
In case this has been way too complex, let me break it down *Activates Lawe's Parotia Power*
Creature Power Discs earned from games where the physical disc is not shown on the Power Suits after the activation in the tutorial are available in Your Room and the habitats.
Creature Power Discs earned from games in which the physical disc is visible over the Power Suit button in the tutorials are available in Your Room, but NOT in the habitats or Habitat Rescue Game.
Creature Power Discs earned from games in which you must complete Level 5 to earn the PowerSuit Photo and Badge, regardless if they physically appear on the Creature Power Suit in the tutorial, do not appear in the supergame.
None of the games that show the physical button of the suit have collectible photos from directly playing Level 5, BUT all of them that do are available to access in Your Room, the habitats, and Habitat Rescue Game.
CONCLUSION: Whilst there are many anomalies and errors in the structures or patterns of the original flash version of the online Wild Kratts website (I'm sure many of you noticed the duplicate Martins in the Aardvark Town tutorial Jesus Christ), some of these inconsistencies have consistencies in their inconsistencies, even if it wasn't the developers' intention. With this, you could logistify several appearances or absences of certain Power Discs in certain games or pages. And to those of you, who like me, grew up with the flash games and were confused as to why you couldn't access all 14 Creature Powers in the habitats or in Habitat Rescue, hopefully this observation could provide good enough answers and closer after a decade.
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

Renowned Photographer Aspiration by xbrettface Updated
There was very very little that needed to change in this aspiration. It just needed updating for new added tuning and to mark it as a teen+ aspiration (there's no straightforward way to mark it as young adult and older). and to and to swap out an objective that's bugged on EA's end for one that works. So I changed as little as possible.
From the original description (also the picture at the top):
Renowned Photographer: This sim wants to capture beauty through photography and share their vision with the world! Reward Trait: World-Renowned Photographer (Adds Marketable trait) This sim has earned a place among the best photographers the world has seen! 1) Click And Shoot Take 5 Photos Share Photos 2) In A Flash Level Up Photography Skill Take Photos of Mua Pel'am Take a Photo at Myshuno Meadows Take 30 Photographs 3) Full Exposure Reach Level 3 Photography Skill Browse Art on the Web 4) Perfectly Posed Take a Photo of a Sim posing in front of a Fashion Studio Backdrop * Reach Level 5 Photography Skill Buy a Photo Studio (Retail Lot)
With 'Take a Photo of Sims in Formal Wear'  subbed in for 'Take a Photo of Sims illuminated by Fashion Studio Lights.' which doesn't complete because of a game bug.
What I've changed:
That one objective.
I updated one of the tooltips to reflect changes in the pie menu, so one string is changed.
I added the teen+ aspiration_valid_age_type. Not having that is the main reason it was broken.
I added completion loots to the objectives, for wants and pivotal moments, as is now the standard.
I added a buff to let the game know that the aspiration was completed. I'm not sure why it's in all the aspirations I looked at, but it is, so this one matches those. Maybe milestones?
The reward trait is now valid for reincarnation.
The reward trait is now available for teens.
The reward trait now has a display_name_gender_neutral.
The reward trait is restricted to humans, or available for humans--humans meaning not pets. Probably both. I think a species test became required since the mod was last updated.
I re-used the included icon on the trait, since it didn't have one.
I updated the SImData.
I added comments, since I had to update all the files anyway, and if it does require a full overhaul at some point in the future, they'll make it much, much easier. This time it just needed a little touch-up.
Most of those are things I've done for every aspiration I've updated.
I haven't added wants. I've made so few changes that it didn't feel right to, and xbrettface said they had plans for the aspiration the last time they updated it. Hopefully they will come back and make those changes.
If you've been playing with the aspiration despite it being a bit broken, you can pop the update into your game and keep going with no progress lost.
Existing translations will probably still work (no idea where they are, since they're not linked or included), but that one string ('Share Photos interaction can be found under the 'Friendly' category when you select another sim.' became 'Share Photos interaction can be found in the 'Small Talk' section under the 'Friendly' category when you select another sim') could use updating. I can't guarantee it though, because the group number got changed from 00000000 to 80000000.
Requires Get to Work, City Living, Island Living, and Moschino Stuff.

Friends out of water Chapter 3: Spice Level: High
Forest placed the fish bowl containing Ana on the edge of the bathroom sink. She peered up at him as he disrobed. She frowned when he kept his boxers on. She felt doubt creep into her mind. *Does he not like me? Am I too weird for him?* She thought to herself. While Ana wanted to be close to him and be intimate, she also felt like she had to. She felt she had to keep him interested to prevent him from growing bored.
She pushed her doubt to the side, and with a mischievous glint in her eyes, she gave him a playful smirk and gestured to his boxers.
"Isn't it a bit unfair?" Ana teased, her voice laced with humor and a hint of challenge. "Here I am, baring my soul—and scales—to the world while you're all covered up."
Forest looked at her in surprise. "Oh! You wanted to do more than cuddle?"
Ana deflated a bit at this. "Well, yeah... unless... is it me? Do you not want me?" Ana felt her face burn with rejection and her eyes tear up. It's not like this was their first time; they had been very active with each other before her shrinking. Maybe he thought being with her in her current state was weird.
"No! I mean, I DO want you! I just... didn't want to assume that's what you wanted." Forest stumbled over his words, trying to backtrack on his mistake.
He hooked his thumbs into the waistband of his shorts. With a swift motion, Forest Slid the shorts down his legs, stepping out of them with casual ease. He stood before her, unabashed and completely exposed, a soft grin playing on his lips. "There all fair."
Ana's gaze traveled the length of his body, taking in his beauty. It had been too long since she had seen him completely.
"Much better," she murmured, her voice lower than before.
Forest reached out, his finger dipping into her bowl and stroking down her back and down along her tail. Ana shivered in delight. She averted her eyes briefly before looking back at him through lowered lashes.
Forest grinned and removed his hand, earning a sound of protest from Ana. He then picked up her bowl and stepped into the warm water of his bath. He wished he had a bigger bath, but he'd make a duo with what he had.
He settled into the bathtub and set Ana's bowl on its side, letting Ana go into the water.
Forest leaned back in the tub, watching Ana swim around free. He watched in fascination and growing arousal as his little mermaid glided through the water with confidence, her movements fluid and purposeful as she closed the distance between them.
"Ana," Forest breathed out, his voice laced with anticipation.
"Shh," she whispered, placing a delicate webbed hand on his thigh. She was so tiny, his thigh towering over her.
With deliberate slowness, Ana pressed her scaled belly against his arousal, the coarse texture of her mermaid form contrasting against his smooth skin. She moved against him in a steady rhythm. Each undulation of her tiny hips brought a new wave of sensation, leaving him breathless.
Forest's hand hovered over her, hesitant at first, unsure how to engage with their size difference without causing harm. But as Ana continued her tender ministrations, he gave in to the moment. His fingers traced down her delicate back and down her tail. He continued to caress her scales, trying to figure out how to increase their shared pleasure.
His hips bucked, seeking more of her touch, in response she wrapped her tail around his length, and continued to stroke him with her miniature hands.
"Ana," Forest groaned, caressing her scaled body. He wanted to give her pleasure in return but feared hurting her in his aroused state. "You're driving me mad."
"That's the point." Ana purred up at him, squeezing him between gasping breaths.
Forest shuddered at her words, pleasure coiling tight within him. He wrapped his hand around her waist, sliding his finger down her scaled belly, his fingers finding the tiny slit of her cloaca. Ana gasped, hips jerking as he stroked her.
"Two can play that game," Forest said, grinning.
******
After their lovemaking, Forest lay on his side in the cooling water. His head propped up on his hand. Ana, her tiny form curled up against his pec. He stroked her hair, marveling at how soft the strands felt between his fingers.
"I love taking care of you," he said. "You're so small and delicate. I never want anything to happen to you."
"I know," Ana said, placing a tiny hand over his thumb.
Forest raised his hand from the water, cupping her close. "I'll always keep you safe."
"Forest," she began, her voice soft but resolute, "would you be able to request any time off soon?"
He leaned closer, his brow knitting in concern at the tone of her inquiry. "Why? What's on your mind?"
Ana hesitated, her gaze steady. "I need to find my clan," she admitted, the vulnerability clear in her eyes. They might have the answers I seek—things about how this happened to me."
Forest's hand paused, his touch lingering near the base of her tail. "Is there a way for you to contact them without going out in the ocean?" he asked, his tone turning worried. "You're so small, Ana. You'd just be bait out there."
She frowned. "But I can't stay like this; I need to go. I need you to take me out there." Ana tried to reason. "You could stay on the boat; I'd be fine."
Forest scowled at her. "Why would I stay on the boat and let you swim out in the ocean? Something would eat you, Ana!"
Ana felt flustered, "Well, I don't know what my clan would do to you if you were in the water with me. Maybe I could be in glass container of some sort?"
Forest stared at her in disbelief. "I'm not taking you out there like this. One, it's too dangerous, and two, you'd think your clan would....kill me?"
Ana deflated at this. "I.....well...We could try to contact my friend. She's a mermaid, too, and has been on land recently. I have her contact information; she doesn't like to be bothered, and she doesn't like humans..."
Forest huffed in amusement. "Why didn't you suggest that first? Thats a safer plan, I can help you with that."
Ana felt a rush of relief. "Well, I don't think she'd know anything about this."
"But she might know who to ask?" Forest prompted.
Ana gave a sheepish nod.
******
Ana was back in her tiny fish bowl as Forest carried her back to her tank.
"Back to your kingdom, my little siren," Forest murmured with an affectionate smile that crinkled the corners of his eyes. He quickly and gently wrapped his hand around her tiny form, lifting her out of the bowl. Ana gasped, and her gills worked to bring in breath. But she leaned into his palm, trusting him.
Ana watched the water rise to meet her. As Forest gently submerged her into the depths of her aquatic home, a trail of tiny bubbles danced around them like a celebratory farewell. She could not help but admire how his fingers unfurled beneath the surface, setting her free yet remaining close enough to ensure her safety.
Feeling playful, Ana swam away from Forest's grasp and then broke the water's surface with her tail, flinging water up at him, which earned her a surprised laugh.
"Hey!" He tried to sound stern but couldn't contain his grin. "No splashing."
Ana poked her head out of the water, eyes sparkling with mischief. "You love it."
Forest shook his head, chuckling. "You little minx."
"I try my best." Ana swam up to nip at his knuckle, sharp, tiny teeth grazing his skin. The sensation sent a shiver down his spine. "Go to bed, Ana; I love you."
In the corner of the aquarium, Ana found solace among the swaying forms of the water plants and the gentle hum of the filtration system. Curling up, she allowed herself to drift in the weightlessness, her eyes fixed on Forest's silhouette beyond the glass.
Ana's eyelids grew heavy, the events of the evening—a tapestry of desire and tenderness—replaying in her mind.

Any solo-player/journal games that are a bit more lighthearted, preferably with a focus on character building?
Theme: Light-Hearted, Character-Focused Solo Games.
Hello friend! I have some games here that skew more towards the Light-Hearted end of the scale, while others skew more towards Character Building. I hope one of them fits right in the niche you are looking for!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Souvenirs, by Rémi Töötätä.
You are going on a week-long vacation. You are determined to enjoy every visit you go on and come back home with souvenirs from each day, including one for your friend who is taking care of your pet while you’re away.
During the game, you will keep a journal of the places you’re going to and the souvenirs you’re getting. Draw cards each day of your vacation and use prompts to imagine the places you visit, the items you get as souvenirs and the memories they represent.Make yourself a nice cup of tea, write the diary of your character each day, maybe draw a map of the region and pictures of the items you imagine, or play entirely in your head; and most of all, have a lovely time!
This looks like a very lighthearted game, and the souvenirs you collect as you play seem like excellent tools to convey personal memories. This game is meant to happen over the course of a week, so every morning you can sit down and journal about where your character would visit, and what would catch their eye. As you do so, you’ll also want to think about who you’re buying for, and what kind of connection you have to them. At the end of the game, you’ll have a lovely web of relationships, as well as a little story to take back to your NPC friends.
Hygge Holiday, by Figgins.
Hygge Holiday is a solo journaling RPG set in a cozy small village in a Nordic country.
You’ve travelled home for an extended winter holiday, with lots of vacation time.  Winter is a time to slow down and focus on simple pleasures and good company. Luckily, the Nordic countries offer free health care and university education, on top of many weeks of paid holiday per year, and generous unemployment benefits--meaning less worry, stress and uncertainty, and more time for enjoying the simple pleasures in life. How will you spend your time, and with whom?
This game probably feels more fitting for the cold weather days, but it certainly looks like a great cozy game none the less. You earn paper snowflakes that reflect your experiences and you will also journal about these memories, which might fit the character-building kind of theme you are looking for!
Etude of the Evening, by Takuma Okada.
Etude of the Evening is a tabletop roleplaying game about recovering lost objects from your brilliant past. It is a hack of Songs for the Dusk by Kavita Poduri and Quinn Vega combined with You Will Destroy Something Beautiful by Samantha Day. Uses a six-sided die, for 1 to 3 players. 1-2 hours.
Overall, I think the tone for this game can vary, but it certainly hits the spot of focusing on your character. You’ll answer questions about who you are at the beginning of the game, and navigate a strange landscape. If you want to focus on a light-hearted tone, then you’ll just want to take descriptive choices that focus on beauty rather than decay.
The Land Beyond, by Cezar Capacle.
You are a raccoon. You lived your whole life on an island but now you have a hot air balloon.
You want to be free and reach The Land Beyond.
The Land Beyond is a solo RPG about letting go and going beyond what you think you could. You travel through wondrous lands living fantastic adventures along the way.
During your journey, you will have the opportunity to reflect upon the burdens you carry with you and, luckily, let go of them so you can travel even further.
This is a journeying game that looks like it’s probably a little less light-hearted than you’re looking for, but really focuses on character reflection. I like the oracles for events in this book, and the idea of tracking the gas in your balloon in order to see how far you can go. I’m keeping this recommendation in because even if it requires a lot of serious character reflection, at the end of the day, you’re still a raccoon in a hot air balloon - and that just feels whimsical to me.
Creation Myths, by gothHoblin.
Creation Myths is a solo journeying game based on the hero's journey/monomyth narrative template.
It is designed to help you dive deeper into character creation through the development of a backstory adventure via dice and prompts, and to provide you with new things to think about. It can also work as a way to redevelop existing characters and generate fresh ideas. With multiple modes of play available, all you need is a set of dice and somewhere to write. Let your imagination do the rest!
This is another case of your mileage may vary when it comes to tone, because you’ll be the source of ideas for coming up with a character backstory. This is meant to be pretty genre-agnostic, so you might want to pull from other games or pieces of media to decide what kind of character you want to write backstory for. It’s solely focused on character development, but again, whether or not it’s lighthearted is probably up to you.
Incarnation, by breathing stories.
At some mundane moment, something shifted in you. The number of ‘coincidences’ became too large to be without meaning. The deja vu became impossible to ignore. It hit you, not like a sack of bricks, but like a shawl landing firmly on your shoulders.
This is not your first life. You have lived many others, and now they start trickling in…
In Incarnation, you create a character who has just become aware that the life they are leading is not their first life. Using a tarot deck you will create the story of this character and their past lives, uncovering secrets pleasant and otherwise.
With all that this character has been through, the weight of all they hold, who are they really?
This game has the potential to shift in tone, but since it’s played using a tarot deck, I feel like much of the genre and details will depend on the player’s interpretation. It’s deeply tied to character building, as the game revolves around discovering your character’s past lives. If Anamnesis sounds up your alley, then this game might tick a lot of the same boxes, as it’s built on the same set of rules.
Fox Curio’s Floating Bookshop, by lostwaysclub.
Welcome to the River; a flowing path born at the mountain’s feet. In her high narrows, barely two boats fit lengthwise; a furious pounding of water. From these rocky ravines, she threads her way through the land, until she reaches the Great Sea. Quiet and slow-moving in these lowlands, she provides homes for those who live upon her waters and food for those who live beside her.
Your days are filled with customers, leaks and the irritating nook beetles that bury into the pages of your books. Make friends with regular customers to the bookshop, experience the River as she moves through the different seasons, visit and explore various towns, go fishing in the River's rich waters. Throughout the year, the seasons change and holidays give the chance for you to join in celebrations and festivities with the animalfolk.
This game is at the top of the list when looking at tone; it’s absolutely lighthearted, but I’m not sure how much it focuses on character building. Most of the focus will be on your customers, but I think as you journal, you have the potential to learn more about your character through the kinds of books they sell and how they deal with customers. Overall the tone of this world is so beautiful and peaceful, it’s on my own list of games I’d love to play.
Games I've Recommended in the Past
Void 1680 AM, by Bannerless Games.
Anamnesis, by Sam Leigh.
Wanderhome, by Jay Dragon.

Hi Jen! I hope you're doing well! I know this is a complete longshot, seeing as how they're so old and came out back in 2014, but is there any chance you still have the three save files by SimGuruZera called "Bachelor," "Mad Science," and "Power Couple"? I noticed them in an old YouTube video and have been looking everywhere online for them but can't find them anywhere. I even used Wayback Machine lol. Your post was one of the few to even mention them so I thought I'd ask.
Hi Anon!
I looked through my old Saves and couldn't find them, so I did a little searching on the web and found them on what looks to be a French Sims 4 forum (posted by SimModo_Olive). I downloaded the zip file in the post and loaded the save files up to make sure they were the same ones. They looked right to me!
Tumblr media
I made sure I could load all three. I didn't play them, just loaded and saved. I renamed them with "777" in the number so they shouldn't overwrite any saves you already have, zipped them up, and uploaded them to Sim File Share:
Download SimGuruZera Save Files (SFS)
I haven't uploaded anything in ages so I hope Sim File Share is still acceptable! Let me know if you have any trouble downloading or opening the files. You'll want to just pop them into your Saves folder but if you're worried about them overwriting something, I would back up your Saves folder first just in case. If you don't have any saves starting with "777" in the file name then you should be okay. :)
Edited to add - here's the text from the post on the French Sims forum translated to English, for anyone who wants to know what these files are!
For your greatest pleasure, we offer you 3 unique pre-recorded games. Each provides a different look at some of the possibilities the game offers and allows you to discover ways of playing that you might not encounter in the beginning of a gaming session.
Bachelor : Play the life of the rich and influential Rico Bachelor, who knows almost everyone in town. You start at a party in Rattlesnake's Juice Bar, where Rico will have a suggestive conversation with Katrina Caliente. Take advantage of Rico's Flirting emotion, with a Charisma level of 10, and the Romantic character trait to help him achieve his current aspiration of successfully engaging 10 Kisses!
Mad Science: Enter a world of crazy science with the Malakai brothers. Being twins, these two Rocket Scientists are physically identical - but they couldn't be spaced much further apart based on their personalities. One aspiring to be a Friend to the World, and the other a Public Enemy, explore how these Sims, with very different personality traits and opposing goals, can have significantly different long-term stories.
Power Couple: Wondering what it's like to have all that? Jump into the life of wealth and power with Ethan and Allyson Poole. Both at the peak of their careers, they have honed most of their skills, earned some great awards, and are even working on their next aspiration. See what it's like to have everything and be good at everything.

Ask Game(?)
Since @coralhoneyrose tagged me with this questions meme she got from @tropicalcryptid, thought I'd give it a go. I think our answers might end up having a bit of overlap, lol.
1) If you had a "His Dark Materials" -style daemon, what would it be?
I haven't actually read this series, so I had to read a wiki page. I think a cat fits me pretty well? This isn't something I've spent enough time thinking about 😂. I'll be much better at the next question!
2) Ideal Pokemon team? All eras/regional forms are valid.
My eternal favorite pokemon is Magnezone, and I have a definitely have a favoritism towards the steel type. If I were to make a team of my favorites that I use most frequently when I play, it would probably be Magnezone, Latias, Sylveon, Metagross, Tyranitar, and Venusaur.
3) You have the budget and creative control to make one thing into a movie. What u doin?
There's this web novel that I've read several times, Mother of Learning, that I think would make a really good TV show. The premise is pretty simple and can be summed up in one sentence (Kid goes to wizard school, gets locked in a one-month time loop where the city is destroyed at the end), but what really earned it this special place in my heart is the insane depth of the worldbuilding. Every time I read it again, I notice new details in seemingly throwaway lines that end up getting used later, and the final act is a Chekov's Firing Squad. It would be really cool to see it on the big screen, but it's just too long to be a single movie. If I have to pick a movie though, I'll pool my money with Rose so we can make Awakening a two-parter.
4) Fuck/marry/kill, Disney Villain edition.
Hmm... I've never actually had a crush on a Disney villain before, so Fuck is the most difficult one to pick. Maybe Rapunzel's mom from Tangled?
Kill is easy. De la Cruz from Coco. I don't care that he's already dead, I'll do it again.
Marry would probably be Yzma. I think it would be fun to be on her team.
5) I am trapped in a room with you for three hours. I cannot escape. What special interest are you monologuing to me about?
I got into Final Fantasy 14 last year, and it sank its teeth into me DEEP. I got grabbed both by the story and characters, and the deep mechanics, so I could easily yap for the first 90 minutes about the narrative, my favorite characters, and OC lore, and then the second 90 minutes about optimizations for Black Mage and my opinions on game balance.
Thanks for the ping! These questions were pretty fun to answer.

So as far as the Centurion Borealis MK II and Acrioziolana, I have too many questions:
How do you log out of that thing? Is it safe zone dependent? Do you need a motion or phrase? Can other users disable it or is it because someone's registered as hostile?
What's the time disparity? People can sleep in this thing. With Fimbulventr mentioning consciousness, are most users just dreaming as they risk getting kreugered?
So is there no SAO incident or investigation involved or is it just publicly known that people die in these things? Is it just the The OASIS from Ready Player One with pain and pleasure? Is it free from the laws of The Other? Can you even mention the real world proper? How big a hole does it burn in one's pocket?
How the hell do powers even work here? What's the skill tree? What's the leveling? You got magic and guns yet the only healing so far is potions. Does everyone just start at nothing? Can someone hypothetically hack the game and make themselves immortal or inulnerable?
Alright, let's see... Ended up typing a lot, so here's a Read More
The first part of your ask:
Anyone can log out or Disengage of Acrioziolana at their own leisure. However, there are some instances that can prohibit the command.
These can include, but are certainly not limited to certain areas being hostile zones that you can't log out of until you leave their boundaries and certain players being able to 'abuse' the permissions of the app and preventing people from Disengaging so as to prolong their torture or commitments.
There is also, and this is going to be touched on a bit more in upcoming volumes, a certain party to which certain players staying away from Acrioziolana for too long is a conflict of interests. So even if you log out and decide 'okay, I'm not going to play anymore; it's too dangerous', that will pretty much result in you having to constantly keep an eye over your shoulder in case said party sends someone to, ahem, clean up any loose-ends.
The second part:
3-4 days in-app would equate to around 6 hours IRL time.
The basic level of logging into Acrioziolana is closer in kin to an incredibly in-depth VR system that can result in psychosomatic responses in the body due to certain in-game stimuli (i.e.: someone being brutally murdered in-game has a 50/50 chance of either causing someone's body to go into shock and die or the pain/trauma being so much that their mental-state can't take it)
The third part:
You'll remember what I mentioned earlier on about a 'certain interested party' being heavily invested into Acrioziolana. Well, they do their best to make sure that players don't go blabbing about the game via monetary initiatives, dark-web shenanigans, or having plenty of clean up staff.
You can mention the real world in-game to a certain extent but most people just default to using the term 'The Other' as a means of keeping their personal data safe.
The only real monetary cost of playing Acrioziolana is getting a hold of a Centurion Borealis Mk II. Which, aside from costing 50K and that's even if you can find one for sale; many of the core characters in Speak Not have stumbled their ways into getting one somehow or another.
Aside from that, the only risk you have is your life! Yay! But, you can earn a lot of money, so...
The final part:
The power-system of Acrioziolana is best described as that of an almost prestige-like system?
In better wording, it's like 'Yes, everyone starts at an almost ground-level of zero, but depending on what feats they decide to take on, how many they slaughter, how many they conquer, and just how much of a threat they become to those around them translates to how powerful a player is'.
Thus far, though a few have tried, no one has managed to successfully hack the system. The closest thing is the core antagonist of the series, Shivaari-Jaarti, managing to exploit the game's servers to keep his hold of Acrioziolana solid.
